Welcome to the podcast. We got a new episode for you today. It's your second date podcast with Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning. Yeah, we're your home for this stuff. Loving the dating drama. And we love the comment board even more. You know, whether you leave your comments on Spotify or on YouTube or you text them to 78592, we see them all. I do.
C
I try to peruse every social media outlet of ours every day and see.
A
What I can find.
C
And I wanted to use that word.
A
I like that.
D
Thank you. I feel good about it. I know.
A
I feel good.
C
But one comment I did see is Crucie from Canada. Said, I'm from Canada and absolutely love this podcast. I dived into this rabbit hole around six months, and now listening to every podcast kind of feels like one of those bad relationships that you can't leave.
D
Hey, we're toxic for you.
C
Yeah, we got you.
A
But drama, you can't turn away.
D
I know, but we're cute and we love you.
A
We mean well. Yeah, we mean well.
D
All right, well, let's continue this relationship with your brand new second date, starting right now.
A
Second date update. Ah, sports. They're not just a good excuse for excessive drinking and yelling at referees. Sometimes they're a great way to accidentally meet somebody cute. And if you're playing them, get some exercise in while you're at it.
D
Boring.
A
Jeffrey R. It's apparently how one of our listeners met the girl he wants to call today through the magic of sports.
D
I love adult sports.
A
Yeah. Brian, were you watching sports or were you playing them?
G
I was playing.
D
Nice.
G
Okay.
D
Are you on a league for something?
G
Yeah, yeah, I'm in a rec league at the soccer league.
D
Oh, okay.
A
Nice. Okay, so you're athletic.
D
I was in one of those for a while. And the games were like, at 11 o' clock at night, I'm like, yeah.
A
My roommate used to go to games. The whole point is to roll it into, like, a social activity afterwards. Like, you don't want to do it in the morning. That's weird. Maybe drink after.
D
Maybe I was too old for it.
A
Jeff.
D
I don't know.
A
There you go. So that's cool. You were in a rec soccer league. And who did you.
G
There was this new player, Hannah.
D
Oh, she's on your team.
G
They put her on Our team, she just signed up and they put her on our team.
D
Cool.
G
Yeah.
A
Okay.
G
And I thought, wow, she's really cute.
D
Okay.
A
Wow. I gotta play good today. Bring my A game.
D
Yeah.
G
I welcomed her. You know, I tried to be in her area when I could to be around her. And at timeouts, I would compliment her. Nice pass.
A
Wow.
D
Don't get crazy. So flirty. Yeah, you can obviously tell that you were totally flirting with her.
G
Yeah, I didn't want to come on too strong, but the game kept going on, and I. I ended up scoring the winning goal.
D
Nice, dude.
A
You did it. That was exciting moment.
G
Yeah, it was very exciting, actually. She congratulated me, and everybody was all happy and everything.
A
And did Hannah jump into your arms and give you a big kiss right on the mouth?
G
No, but I got a high five at that point.
A
I got a high five just as good.
D
Second best thing.
F
Yeah.
A
Okay. That's first base.
D
So wait, is this the date, or did you finally ask her out?
G
Well, afterwards, we often go out drinking. The team. So she went out with us.
A
There you go.
G
And we started talking, and I found out some things about her. Like, she likes to paddleboard, and she has a cat. She's funny.
A
Is she paddleboarding with the cat?
D
No, but you sound smitten.
A
The fact that you remember two details about her. Absolutely. Over the moon.
D
No, it's like the way he's saying it, like, through a smile.
A
Yeah. Okay.
G
Oh, she's so cute. I mean, I can't even. I mean, it's been a couple years I've been single, so she checked all the boxes.
A
That's awesome, man.
D
Okay, so did you find out? Is she single?
G
I mean, so we're talking, and, you know, and she left before I did.
D
Oh.
G
I went outside the bar, and I was like, hey, you know, I know we're on the same soccer team, and maybe it's okay if I could ask you out.
A
Oh, all right.
D
I like it.
A
What was her response?
G
Well, she kind of hemmed, and I was like, I don't know about that. I was like, But I didn't give up. I was like, come on, if it doesn't work, we'll just go back to being, you know, soccer teammates.
D
Right. There's nothing to lose. It's not like you guys were friends previously.
H
Exactly.
G
I was like, come on, let's give it a shot. And I got her to say, you know, let me think about it.
A
Okay.
D
You got to. Let me think about it.
A
A girl.
G
I got to. Let me think about women.
A
Absolutely love A man drunkenly begging them to give them a chance and go out, like, come on. Like, immediately. If you keep asking, I don't know, she could say, oh, he's persistent. Or she could be like, he's a little thirsty.
D
I think I'd say yes after enough.
A
Tries just so that you wouldn't have to keep on saying yeah. So that's true.
D
Did she think about it?
G
Well, she was in finally. She's like, okay, let's do it.
C
Hey.
A
Okay. Lifetime's the charm.
D
I think it's kind of cute.
A
So she told you that outside the bar she was willing to go out with you?
G
No, no, we exchanged numbers and she texted me later saying, okay, let's do it.
D
So she really did think about it.
C
That's better, because she meant it.
G
Yeah.
A
Yeah, that's a good point.
D
So where'd you guys go?
G
Well, nowhere. The next day she changed her mind.
D
What do you mean?
F
Oh.
A
Oh, no.
G
I got a text from her and she was just like. I thought about it and maybe it's not a good idea.
A
Oh, no. Again, she's like, right in the middle. She's like, part of her is like, not really. And then part of her is like, actually, ye. Well, the drunk part of her is like, yeah, maybe. And then the sober part's like, this is a mistake. There's still a chance here, though, is what I'm saying.
D
She needs to stop thinking so much.
G
Yeah, I know. I. I agree. I mean, you know, I'm right with you guys. And I was like, stop thinking so much. Let's say, you know. You know, you wanna. That's what I was thinking. You know, you wanna.
A
So after that, did she show up to the next game or the next.
G
The next game. She didn't even show up. And I was thinking, oh, man, I made her uncomfortable, you know? And it doesn't.
D
I mean, everything you did is pre innocent. I don't know that it should be something that would make her so uncomfortable to not show up. Unless you're not telling us everything.
A
Are you being 100 truthful with all the details?
G
There's nothing I can think of that I'm leaving out that did anything dopey or anything.
D
I mean, no. Unsolicited photos also got sent to her phone.
A
Right when you were begging her for a date. Did you have your pants on at the time?
G
I did.
A
Good. But the pants were on. Sure. I mean, I know these seem like ridiculous questions, but I swear, you have no idea how many times we've been blindsided in the second part of these calls with the details that come out, she'll be like, yeah, he lit himself on fire. Oh, I forgot to mention that. I didn't think that was important. Okay, so. And how long has it been since.
G
You last spoke with Hannah that we've actually text? It's been over almost two weeks, a week and a half or so.
A
Oh, since the tax day. We'll see if she even remembers you still.
D
Oh, she'll remember she didn't show up at the game. There's a reason.
A
Well, we'll come back and we'll try to find out why your brand new teammate on your intramural soccer team. Yeah. Doesn't want to go out on a date or even show up to the games anymore. It's affecting the team now. Yeah, rude. We'll confront her right after this second date update. If you're just joining us for the second date update, our listener Brian played a little game of intramural soccer and scored more than just the winning goal. He scored a love connection with his new female teammate, Hannah. Okay, Hannah, a true soccer baddie, or saddy, as we'll call her. Well, it's soccer batty. Yeah, Coming up with a bun.
D
I thought it was saddy because she wasn't calling him back.
A
It works on so many different levels. I'm coming up with all sorts of cool slang for the Gen Z to combine every word. Yeah, it's so fun. Okay, fine. It's gonna be for Gen Alpha. They'll pick it up and they'll actually appreciate it. The whole team, though, went and grabbed drinks together after their game. And Hannah, she'd be open to going.
D
Out with him after he asked her nine times, right?
A
Yeah. Persistent. In fact, she texted him that later on in the night and then suddenly changed her mind the very next day. Classic saddy behavior. Yeah, but now we're stepping in, we're gonna try and fix it. Brooke.
D
Yeah?
A
Your take.
D
Oh, my take.
A
What do you think he's gonna ask you? How's your day going? Yeah, take it away.
D
My take is, after she got home, she had a couple more glasses of wine and was binging her favorite show. Fine, I'll go out with him. And then the next morning, she's like, what was I thinking? Yeah, but I don't think that means that we can't convince her still.
A
Brian, what do you think of Brooke's theory that she's addicted to alcohol?
F
What?
D
This is not what she said.
G
Well, I hope not. I hope she feels the same way when she's not drinking.
D
Yeah, I think you need to come up with a prose list. Be ready for it when we finally introduce you onto the phone. Okay, like, reasons why.
A
That sounds like fun, doesn't it, Brian?
G
I'm like, yeah, okay, Frozen cotton list.
D
No, no, just pros. Just, like, reasons she should say yes. Like, you kept asking her, but you didn't give her why.
C
I do love making pros and cons. List of guys. For sure.
A
Let's just call. We'll see what happens.
H
Hello?
A
Hey, is this Hannah?
H
Yes, this is Hannah. Who is this?
A
This is a radio show calling. You called Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
G
Hi.
A
Good morning.
H
What?
A
Good morning.
D
I like that.
H
Yeah, good morning.
A
Sorry. I know. Oh, she's hungover. Joe, you're probably not used to having a radio show call, but this is a segment that we're doing called a Second date Update.
H
Okay?
A
It's when someone goes out on a date with another person or they met somebody really cool and they're not getting a call back for a second meetup. We can reach out on their behalf to try and help them figure out why. And in this scenario, you met a guy recently named Brian.
F
Right.
H
But I don't understand. I. I didn't ever go on a first date with him.
A
Yeah, yeah, okay, we know that. He did tell us. But according to him, you said yes to going out on a date with him and then changed your mind the next day and didn't even show up to the soccer game.
G
Yeah, that's fine.
D
He just wants to know maybe why. Why you changed your mind.
H
I. I guess. Where do I start? How much do you know? What do you want to ask me?
A
I mean, the snapshot of what we know is you played soccer together, you went and grabbed drinks afterwards, you said yes to a date, but then changed your mind the next day.
H
Right. So I am single. And one of the reasons that I wanted to play soccer on this, in this league is because I wanted to meet other people in.
G
And perfect.
H
If I'm being honest, I looked up all the guys on the roster just to see their status.
A
So you don't want to pick him right away in case somebody else.
D
She loves a good midfielder, but she's open to the goalie, you know, whatever.
A
So does that mean that there was somebody else who caught your eye on the team?
H
Well, not necessarily. So I was actually disappointed because every single man on the team is married.
A
Oh, wait, including Brian?
H
It was confusing. I'm not sure what he is because it says that he's not married. But he is kissing a woman in his pictures.
C
Oh, is it old photos from, like, years?
H
No, they're not that old. And I just. I was like, okay, I don't want to get involved with any drama, and so.
D
Whoa. So wait, you think he's. Brian's in a relationship? Yes.
G
At the very least, you might be totally right.
A
He could be absolutely married and lying to us. But it would be strange to have him reach out to our show and have him listening to this call the entire time.
D
Oh, yeah.
A
Because I need to let you know, Hannah, he is there listening to this.
H
Oh, okay. Hi, Ryan.
G
So, wait, you snooped on all our media pages?
H
No, I just.
G
That's weird.
H
That's not weird. People do it all the time. And it's not like I was digging through it. I just wanted to see what everyone's relationship status was before I embarrassed myself.
D
That's called doing your research, Brian.
A
And the fact that you're not immediately coming out saying, I'm not married is a big red flag here, Brian. That's a good point.
G
Well, I'm not married.
D
What are you.
G
It's an easy explanation. Okay, I. I know exactly what picture.
D
Okay. Of you kissing another woman.
G
That's my sister.
C
Oh.
A
Oh, that makes so much sense.
H
No, that doesn't make sense. You are kissing her on the mouth and you're holding her waist. I don't. That does not look like a sister picture.
A
What the heck?
D
And if it is, that's even more worrisome than. Yeah, hold on.
A
Biological sister or stepsister? There you go. Because Clueless opened the door to a little bit.
D
Brian, what's going on?
G
That's my sister. Listen, we're a close family, okay? And it's not weird to us.
D
Okay.
A
Yeah.
D
So you would be comfortable introducing Hannah to the woman that was in that photo?
G
My sister? Yeah. I mean, do you not, like, you know, I don't know if you have a brother or. But do you not kiss your brother or your dad on the lip?
H
No, I do not.
G
Okay, well, we do.
D
I don't think kissing on the lips with family is weird. I know you're gonna be like, oh, Brooke doesn't think that's weird.
A
Yeah, of course you do. You don't think kissing your cousins is weird. You don't think anything'.
D
But, like, posting a photo of it and also holding their waist at the same time is.
A
Yeah.
D
There's something sensual about that.
F
Yeah.
D
Where it doesn't feel.
G
There's nothing sensual about it from my point of view. I mean, it's a very close family. I'm proud of the tightness of our family.
H
Okay.
A
No, you are right. Some families are way closer. And I have the question that I think is going to finally clear everything up here. Brian, have you gone to second base with her? Is that a family thing?
G
My sister? No.
A
All right. He has a limit.
G
Hannah, I wish you would have texted me and just asked me, like, hey, who are you kissing in this picture? I mean, I wouldn't have gone on to the radio to find this out.
C
You should have tagged your sister so she could have stalked your whole family on social media, too, and figured it out.
G
I did have her tag, but recently she said, could you take the tag off because she thought it was weird.
D
Okay, okay, okay.
A
Rude of her.
D
Maybe it was just a photo that was taken at the wrong time. And it's a totally innocent thing. Hannah.
A
It's just the tongue. You can see the tongues.
H
It wasn't just one picture. He had, like, half a dozen on here.
A
Half a dozen. Wait, half a dozen sisters or half a dozen pictures of the same sister?
H
Pictures of kissing his sister.
A
I don't even have that many photos.
D
Of my brother's normal. What do you guys do where you're getting photographed that often?
A
I think it's just high and box taking them. They're a loving family. Come on, guys.
H
I don't know.
G
Not weird to us. Guys. It's my sister. You know, when we see each other, I mean, I don't. I don't know what else to say. You guys are like, why? Why is this so weird?
D
Okay, we're all ganging up on Brian right now, and, Hannah, what if he really is just a good family guy? You know, that's not bad. That's not. That's a positive thing.
H
I know it is. I mean, listen, the fact that he got on the radio and wanted to go out with me so badly, I appreciate that.
D
And he's taken this pretty well. Like, we're going hard.
A
And I'm sure Brian would be willing to have his sister call you directly and be like, nothing has ever happened between us.
D
Oh, and rate him on how good he is at kissing.
A
Oh, that's nice.
G
Nobody's rating my kissing with my sister, okay? It's a normal thing. If you look at it, you can see it. I mean, listen, kissing my sister and kissing someone. I'm interested. Is totally different.
D
Okay? See, he knows that.
A
Okay. All right, and maybe part of the reason that you were so upset by the picture is you were a little bit jealous. Hannah. So.
D
Which means you like to.
A
There you go.
H
I do, I do. I'm interested. It's just weird that it's his sister and it might take me a while to get over that.
A
Well, maybe. Okay, take a day. But in the meantime.
F
No, no, no.
G
Don't let her take a day. Because last case. Last time, she changed her mind.
A
Oh, right. Okay, you have five seconds to decide. Would you like another date with Brian? Come on.
H
Okay. Yes, I will give him another chance.
A
There you go, Brian.
G
And come and come back to the team, too. Come on.
D
Oh, come play.
A
He's on his knees, begging you, please.
H
Okay, to that, too.
A
All right, guys, it's over. Group kiss.
D
We're not related, so come on. Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
A
Hey, what's up?

And what can the PCE tell you that the CPI can't?

CPI tries to measure out of pocket costs that consumers are paying for things, whereas the PCE index that the Fed.

D
Is that how many we're at Just.
A
This year, I think. But it's pretty incredible that we got a woman to Say yes to a guy who admits to mouth kissing his own sister. Oh, man, we should be proud of this.
D
That, you know, we never asked if it was closed mouth or we didn't.
A
Ask if there was clothes either. That's a good question.
D
I was on Facebook. I assume it was a peck. But why so many photos?
A
Yeah, that's the thing where it's like, we need to capture this.
D
I mean, even the sister's like, yo, bro, you got to take that down.
A
You'd hope. Take it down. Well, he at least is proud of his family and the family bond that they share. And we should be proud because it says something about us that we can make the sister kissers of the world seem normal and, dare I say, sexy.
D
Well, your sister's coming to town soon, isn't she?
A
Oh, yeah. She's supposed to come visit my and see my new house. Who knows what might happen for everybody.

We'll see.

Hello America's sweetheart, Johnny Knoxville here. I want to tell you about my new true crime podcast, CR from Smartless Media, Campside Media and big money players. It's a wild tale about a gang of high functioning nitwits who somehow pulled off America's third largest cash heist.
A
Kind of like Robin Hood, except for the part where he steals from the rich and gives to the poor. I'm not that generous.
E
It's a damn near inspiring true story for anyone out there who's ever shot for the moon, then just totally muffed up the landing.
