Okay, we just need to apologize right now for taking over your TikTok for you page. Yeah, sorry. Not sorry. My God. Yes, all the old ones are going viral, but the new ones are so much better. Okay, I'm so glad you found them. Follow, like, whatever you're supposed to do on these podcasts and just sit back and listen.

Second date update. The number one reason that people email, call, or try and get in contact with the show is obviously feet pics. And both Jose and Alexis have given theirs out countless times.
Brooke
Oh, yeah, keep coming. People want Jose's feet picked. I have seen you in flip flop. I'm sorry, love. I just. Oh, well, some people.
Alexis
It's like how some people enjoy horror movies, you know, Same deal. But the second most common reason people reach out to us is to get another date when someone's blowing you off. Yes. And while our listener Nick says he would like another date, there's something even more important that he wants to do. And that's to say, I'm sorry.
Brooke
Oh.
Alexis
So, Nick, welcome to the show. I'm sorry that you have to call us, so I'd like to apologize first. You must be at a super low point in your life if you're reaching out to this show.
Nick
I'm not gonna lie, it's not good. Okay.
Brooke
Hey, but that's a powerful phrase. I'm sorry. You know, people don't say it enough, so already I feel like you're in a good place.
Alexis
Yeah. So tell us about the woman that you'd like to apologize to. What's her name?
Nick
Her name's Alicia.
Brooke
Alicia.
Alexis
Okay.
Brooke
And I'm guessing you met her on a dating app. Just a stab in the door.
Nick
Good guess. Yeah.
Alexis
Oh, this is fun.
Brooke
Like I'm a psychic.
Alexis
Okay, Brooke, what did they do for their date?
Brooke
I don't know. Probably dinner. Did you go to dinner?
Nick
There was dinner.
Alexis
Wow, Brooke, we don't even need to talk to you.
Nick
Nick.
Alexis
We're just gonna ask Brooke what she thinks happened.
Brooke
I can hang up.
Alexis
We're gonna call her. Brooke's gonna say she's sorry for you.
Brooke
No, I do always like to know, like, what it was about her that stood out to you, you know? What did you like about Alicia?
Nick
Yeah, she's definitely cute. Petite, brunette. She got this beautiful smile. And so, yeah, we got to chatting, and that's where it really, like, kicked in, because we were talking for a little Over a week. And we were just vibing. Right.
Alexis
Oh, so the chatting actually better for you? I don't have that experience.
Brooke
Wait, you just, like, go with the date, even though the conversation gets worse?
Alexis
I'm just saying, as soon as I start talking, that's where things start to go downhill. Makes sense for Nick. Apparently it works the opposite way. Good for you, man.
Brooke
Maybe he should take your job.
Nick
It was the chatting that was great. When we got to the talking is where I think I screwed it up.
Brooke
Okay, you're talking about in person.
Nick
Yeah.
Alexis
So what happened on the date?
Nick
You know what? It didn't happen on the date. It happened before the date. I got two parking tickets that day, like back to back. And then we're going out that night, and I'm just. I was kind of pissed off going into it.
Brooke
Cranky. Nick was walking into the date.
Nick
Yeah. And I was like. I don't know, I had this rapport with her, and I just felt maybe a little too comfortable because I wasn't first date mode anymore. I was just ready. I just had to, like, vent and I did it and I complained and.
Alexis
Oh, yeah, did you have to drive to the date and park again because.
Brooke
You'Re worried about his parking decision?
Nick
Guessing every time I leave that card out.
Brooke
So are you saying, like, I mean, you guys are sitting down at dinner in the entire time that's all you're talking about, or did you launch in right from the beginning?
Nick
Like, I did launch in from the beginning, and I could tell it was a mood killer, so I tried to pivot, I tried to make some jokes. They didn't land. She was, like, looking at her phone a lot, like, got that when is this gonna be over look on her face.
Brooke
I mean, it's hard to go into a date and the first thing you get is negative. Like you want them to ask about you, not hear about them complaining about their life. Exactly, Alexis.
Alexis
So is that why you want to apologize to Alicia? Because you complained? Well, did you? Something else?
Nick
Yeah, I did something. I'm so embarrassed to even tell you guys this. I'm always going to regret this.
Alexis
Spill it, buddy. Spill it.
Nick
I said. You know what? If this is going to be our last date, then I'm going to enjoy everything that I paid for.
Brooke
Oh, what does that mean?
Nick
I reached across the table, I grabbed her margarita, and I just chugged it in front of her.
Alexis
Why are we even calling her food?
Brooke
You, like, angrily chugged her margarita?
Alexis
Well, it's cuz she was on her phone not paying attention to You.
Brooke
Right.
Nick
Like, I knew that I came in negative, but I felt like she was kind of being a little bit of. Can I say anyway?
Brooke
I'm going to say, if you ever start with can I say, just don't say it.
Nick
But, you know, she said, like, what are you doing? And I said, I can tell you're not interested. Let's just call it what it is. What, are you going to eat the rest of my salad? And yeah, you did, huh?
Brooke
I just angrily chewing. There's so much chewing on that salad.
Alexis
You did.
Nick
There's nothing so sad as just like angry salad eating.
Brooke
Wait, you actually ate it?
Alexis
You really did?
Nick
Yeah. I mean, she got up and left, but I just got there and ate the damn salad.
Alexis
Oh, man.
Brooke
I don't think we should call her. Some girls are into guys that are jerks. No, I think you need to chalk this up as a really big lesson. Like, that's crazy.
Alexis
He said that he wanted to say sorry. Now it's making a whole lot more sense why he doesn't expect a date here. He just wants to say, look, I'm sorry. You caught me at a bad moment.
Brooke
God, even if you would have done it without the line like, that I paid for. Oh, yeah, you owe me.
Alexis
That's the worst. Guys are like, you owe me. I paid.
Brooke
It's like you.
Nick
Aw.
Alexis
That's not a conversation you should have till after marriage, for sure. So have you even tried. Have you tried to apologize just by yourself yet? Nick.
Nick
Oh, yeah, she blocked me. I know I was terrible. And I really do just. I do just want to apologize. But also, like, I've been on three dates since then, and nothing even starts to compare to what we kind of had when, you know, before that night.
Alexis
Yeah.
Brooke
Did you drink all those dates. Alcoholic beverages as well?
Nick
I. Listen, I'm not a fast learner, but some lessons are learned quickly. And that one, I will do it again.
Brooke
All right. We're all about growth.
Alexis
It's all about growth. I was just going to say you fell on your sword. You admitted you're wrong. So let's write your wrong. And I'll be here for you.
Nick
Thank you.
Alexis
I like when Jose does my job. We're going to play sorry. No, I love it. I love it. We're going to do a second date update next. Because of everything Jose said. Yeah. Second date update. A lot of people believe in the idea of love at first. First sight. Love at first kiss.
Brooke
Okay.
Alexis
On this show, we're hoping for love at first apology. That's weird.
Brooke
Somewhere to Start.
Alexis
Nick blew it big time on his first date. Where did he go the most wrong? Was it when he came in hot and vented about the two parking tickets that he got earlier that day?
Brooke
Sadly, that wasn't the most.
Alexis
Or was it when he reached across the table, grabbed her margarita and gulped it down in front of her in frustration? Oh, that was cringe.
Brooke
It was so bad.
Alexis
Her salad as she got up and walked away. Imagine yelling at her with a mouthful.
Brooke
Oh, yeah.
Alexis
Well, take this. So Nick knows he messed up and badly wants to apologize to see if there's any chance for him to get another date. And Brooke, are there any hurtful things that you would like to say to him to make him feel worse before we do this? Because that's kind of been the trend lately.
Brooke
I know, Matt, that you're blaming it.
Alexis
His name is Nick. That's okay. That's even worn. You don't even register in a ra.
Brooke
Sorry. I met Nick. You could interchange a mat and a Nick. I mean, anyway.
Alexis
Wow.
Brooke
Okay, listen, Nick, I do think that you need to be very careful in this phone call that you do not have any big emotion because you have to show her if you're going to apologize, that you can actually control your emotions.
Nick
It's true. No, I. I totally agree with you. I mean, I'm in a much calmer place today. I don't.
Alexis
Good.
Nick
No parking tickets today. Nothing's going on.
Alexis
The day is still early. You don't know how this is gonna go. All right, Kyle, did you call them?
Brooke
Ben? I called him Ben.
Alexis
Okay, whatever, Tim. Let's just do this. Yeah, they're interchangeable, remember, bro, I'm just messing around. Nick, we're gonna call Alicia, hopefully let you do your apology and maybe get you a second date.
Nick
Yeah, if you guys could throw up a Hail Mary at the end there, that'd be amazing.
Brooke
I don't know. You took a margarita from a woman. I don't.
Alexis
Pretty unforgettable.
Brooke
Thank you.
Alexis
We're gonna do our best here. Here we go. I'm a dollar number right now.
Alicia
Hello?
Alexis
Hey, is this Alicia?
Alicia
This is her. Who's this?
Brooke
She sounds so nice.
Alexis
She does. I hope we don't ruin your day with this, but we're calling from a radio show called Brooke and Jeffrey in the Morning.
Alicia
Okay.
Brooke
Hi, Alicia.
Alexis
Okay, day not ruined yet.
Alicia
Hi, how are you?
Alexis
We're doing all right. Stop being so nice, please.
Brooke
I'm feeling really bad about we're going to do here.
Alexis
We want to do something a little bit awkward with you. Called a second date update.
Alicia
Okay.
Alexis
Okay. The idea is we help our listeners who've gone out on a bad date recently try and redeem themselves and hopefully get things back on track. And recently you went out with one of our listeners named Nick.
Alicia
Nick. Yes, I did.
Brooke
Yeah.
Alexis
Nick does not like how your first date went.
Brooke
No, he doesn't like how he acted. I think.
Alexis
Yeah. You know what we're talking about?
Alicia
Yes. That was probably, like, the most ridiculous date I've ever been on.
Brooke
Yeah, I can imagine.
Alexis
Yeah. And Nick actually agrees with you on that?
Alicia
He does. That's surprising.
Alexis
You mean he had a moment of self awareness after everything was over and he knows that he acted like a total child about the whole thing? Yeah.
Brooke
I want to know what it was like from her perspective.
Alexis
Really good, I'm guessing.
Brooke
I mean, what were you thinking?
Alicia
We went on this date and he was clearly having, like, a bad day. He came in off the bat hot about his parking tickets.
Brooke
Yeah.
Alexis
Yeah. So we do know this part of the story. Nick told us he was complaining about parking tickets, which he's regretful for. He made some bad jokes, he said. And the worst part was when he drank your margarita in front of you.
Alicia
My margarita?
Alexis
Yes.
Brooke
Oh, my God.
Alicia
That was the statement piece of the night.
Brooke
What? God, I would have been. I mean, obviously you got up and left, right? Because you were so angry.
Alicia
Yeah, I left when he started eating my taco salad.
Alexis
Taco salad? I was stolen. It.
Brooke
What a monster. Honestly, he was a monster.
Alexis
What was your main feeling there, other than hunger and thirst?
Alicia
The main feeling was probably just confusion. Like, oh, my gosh.
Alexis
Well, so here's the thing. Nick reached out to us because he's seen the error of his ways. And I'm not asking you to go out with him again right now. I'm not. But I am asking if you would consider hearing Nick out, hearing his apology as a favor to me, the guy that you just met over the phone.
Alicia
Favor to you guys? As a favor to you guys? I mean, I guess I could hear him out. You could tell him to call me, but, like, oh, no, not too fast. I have to, like, unblock his number first.
Alexis
Okay, well, you don't even have to unblock his number because actually, we have good news. Or I guess news. Nick is actually on the other line listening right now and wants to talk to you.
Alicia
So you're gonna call Nick now or what?
Alexis
No, I'm not gonna do anything except step away and let Nick talk, because he's already there. Yes, Nick, hi.
Nick
It's Me?
Alicia
What exactly is happening.
Alexis
Nick? Do you want to explain?
Nick
Yeah, I do. I just want to apologize to you for what happened because it was definitely rude. Yeah, I mean, but I'm just saying, like, I wouldn't have done it if you had, like, laughed at one of my jokes, felt insecure.
Alicia
So you are apologizing or you're not?
Brooke
Because that sounded like not.
Nick
I am. I am totally owning what I did was so wrong. I am so sorry I was rude. And the only thing I'm just saying is that it is a two way street. Like. And. And you also did stuff that like.
Alexis
No, you triggered me.
Alicia
Oh, really? So it's my fault that you drink my margarita?
Brooke
Yeah, what the hell? No, no, we didn't get her on the phone for you to harass her again.
Alexis
Did you say she triggered you?
Nick
You knew I was in a bad place. Like, that was obvious, right? I mean, I know I became too hot, but, like, I thought we had a good rapport and you understood me. And.
Brooke
She didn't guide you to happiness.
Alexis
He was a ticking time bomb when he came in and she should have diffused it rather than let it go off.
Brooke
Screw that. Screw you, Nick. How is she responsible for your emotions or the way you react to things?
Alexis
Brooke, you've triggered me so many times on this show and I have never said a single bad thing.
Brooke
You're in charge of your own emotions. Nobody else is.
Nick
I am in charge of my emotions. I'm just saying, if somebody's down, you don't, like, kick them. When they're down, you like to pick them up.
Brooke
You know, she's so nice. She didn't say. Honestly, like, I thought she was gonna go on a tirade about you. When we called her and she didn't know you were on the other line, she didn't say anything actually mean about you.
Alexis
But that's the problem. She didn't say anything. And sometimes when you say nothing, it actually speaks more than when you say something.
Brooke
This is those times when your means are sarcastic and Nick isn't going to understand it.
Alexis
I'm just. I like you and Jeff. I understand the pain of. What it's like when you tell a joke or you try and say something nice and get nothing back and be funnier.
Brooke
Yeah, exactly. Thank you, Alexis. Nick, it really, honestly sounds like you're blaming her for not laughing at your jokes and that's why you reacted that way.
Nick
No, no, no, no. I am. I am sorry. I definitely did something so wrong. Yes, I just. I just.
Brooke
No. End it.
Nick
It's just a two way street. I'm not the only person who's at that table.
Alexis
One way Street. Alicia, would you like to take the opportunity to apologize for making him feel so insecure? You know what, Jeff? Thanks for giving her an opportunity.
Brooke
He's joking, Alicia.
Alexis
Or maybe not.
Alicia
Alicia, I'm sorry that I didn't offer to pay your parking ticket.
Brooke
Dang. Do not say that. She's joking. Now you're joking, right, Alicia?
Alicia
Of course I'm joking.
Brooke
Okay, thank you. My heart.
Alexis
You don't feel bad that you made him. Him feel insecure?
Alicia
I'm not sure how I made him feel insecure.
Brooke
No, I think, what can I do, right? You just let him show his true colors.
Alexis
I'm just glad that he's not in the same room with her because he'd be eating her breakfast right now. Yeah.
Brooke
That'S my coffee. I paid for it.
Alexis
Well, actually, we would like to give you that opportunity and send you out on another date. I mean, Alicia, did his apology not fill you with romantic feelings?
Alicia
Did you hear an apology?
Alexis
I heard him say sorry at least four or five times. Yeah, in Two way Street.
Nick
I'm going to have bad days in my life. You're going to have bad days in my life. And I like. I'm not just talking about this moment. I'm talking about how two people can, like, help each other in life.
Jana Kramer
It's deep.
Brooke
Nick.
Alexis
Yeah. We want to send you onto one of his bad days, and we'll pay for it. What do you say, Alicia?
Alicia
I say you can send Nick on a date and he can order two entrees.
Brooke
Oh.
Alexis
Oh. So it's a yes. But not with her.
Brooke
Yeah. No, just by himself.
Alexis
Okay.
Brooke
Yeah.
Alexis
Can I count that as a win? Sure.
Brooke
Yeah. For Nick, I think it's gonna be the only win he gets.
Jose
Nick.
Nick
Okay, is everyone done taking shots at this guy?
Brooke
It's our fault again.
Alexis
You said shots and Alexis got excited. Yeah, I thought that's what we were talking about.
Brooke
Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
Alexis
Well, text board is not a big fan of Nick right now.
Brooke
Yeah, shocking.
Alexis
Yikes. I mean, clearly he made a couple pretty bad mistakes on his first date. We didn't even talk about how rude it was that she was on her phone in front of him. Normally, we'd say that's really rude, but for him to trump that and be like, forget you down her margarita, that's just savage.
Brooke
Yeah, it is. It's like two rudes don't make a right. Is that how it goes? Is that Right. I don't know. Like his apology was worse though. What a terrible apology. Can you imagine being in a relationship with that guy Jeff? Can you screen these people better before you bring them on that apologize and.
Alexis
Go, well, I'm sorry you feel that way.
Brooke
Yeah, exactly. It's not an apology exactly.
Alexis
I mean, I don't know. With the margarita thing, Would you guys ever do that as a joke? Even with your friends?
Brooke
Reach over and take. Honest to God, if someone touched my margarita, even if my friend. That's not funny. No. Unless. Unless they had two margaritas behind their back that they're going to give. Yeah, that could be kind of funny.
Alexis
Okay, what if it was one of.
Brooke
Your children, Brooke, drinking my margarita? Then we have bigger problems.
Alexis
Mom. I thought mom was going to be proud of her five year old at that point. She learns from mama.
Brooke
Smile.
Alexis
So yeah, I mean, I don't even necessarily feel bad for Nick for not getting another date there. He's got a lot of work to do.
Brooke
I feel bad that we've wasted her time like that.
Alexis
I know. She was so nice. She gave him an opening to apologize and he couldn't even do that right. As Brooke said many, many times.
Brooke
Yeah, maybe he'll learn now. Yeah, I doubt it.
Alexis
But there's always hope.
Brooke
Okay, sure. Stick to that.
Alexis
Yeah, we could maybe be your hope. Email the show. We'll call the person who wasn't call calling you back.
Brooke
Brooke and Jeffrey in the morning.
