Bunker 8 is a horror and sci fi audio drama that delves into the unsettling themes and intense situations. It may not be suitable for all listeners. Listening discretion is advised. Oh, God. Oh. Oh, God. What the hell was that? That dream. It wasn't just a dream, though. That felt real. Like I was actually there. The. The bunker. My heart is still pounding and my skin is damp with sweat. I blink a few times, trying to clear my head, but something feels off. The sheets are soaked with sweat and the air is warm and heavy. Everything is too quiet. I shift slightly and that's when I see her. A woman lying beside me. But her back is turned. I don't know who she is. At least I don't think I do. But something feels familiar. Like I should know her. Like I used to know her. My stomach tightens. I should say something, touch her shoulder, wake her up. But. But I don't. I just lie there, staring, my breath shallow, my mind racing with a single thought. Who is she?
Unknown
You're finally awake.
Jack
Violet. Her name slipped up before I could stop myself. I can't believe I forgot about her. She didn't move. I could hear her breathing, steady and calm. Something about this felt right. I reached out, but hesitated for a second before my fingers touched her shoulder. Oh, man. Had this really weird dream. She didn't turn to face me, but. But I could hear her breathing change. A slight hitch, as if she was listening. This is gonna sound really weird, but. But I was back in the bunker. And it. And it felt real. Like too real. The cold air, the rough walls, the faint creaking of metal all around me. It was like I'd never left. Then, out of nowhere, a sharp pain shot through the back of my head. Like I'd been hitting. Everything blurred. My thoughts were just scrambled. And that's when I saw it. The core. It was open. For the first time, I caught a glimpse of what was inside. I don't even know how to describe it. There was like shifting lights. They were swirling. Like it was alive. Like they were aware of me. Watching, studying. There was something unnatural about it. Something that shouldn't exist. And yet there it was. Right in front of me. I couldn't move. The fear gripped me so tight, it felt like the whole world was collapsing in on itself, dragging me down with it. I could feel myself slipping, like reality was unraveling at the edges. I don't know. I wanted to resist, to pull away, but it was useless. The coral had me. It wanted me. And no matter how hard I fought, I was powerless against It. Even now, I can't shake the feeling. But the pain in the back of my head, it's still there. There. Wait. That. That sharp pain. I can still feel it. I reached behind my head and rubbed it. Ah, Jesus. I looked at it and. And it was blood, but.
Unknown
Jack, you're still in the bunker.
Jack
What the hell is going on? I woke with a throbbing pain piercing through my head. It felt like my head was going to explode. I could barely open my eyes. But what I saw was different than where I was before. Where am I? I looked around the room and noticed the walls were damp with red alarm lights flashing around the room. That's where my thoughts finally caught up to me. Oh, shit. I looked over at the core door, but. But it was gone. Where the hell am I? I look around the room, but. But it's completely empty. There's nothing here. I quickly turned around the. The door on the other side of the room. It's opening. There's someone else here. It's hard to think right now that they're throbbing in the back of my head. Jesus Christ. My vision is getting blurry again. And that's when I hear it. Footsteps coming up to me fast. Help.
Emily
Wake up.
Jack
Oh, God.
Emily
Wake up.
Jack
I can't see anything. What? Why can't I see anything? I try to move my hands, but they're bound by something. What is that? Rope? No. No. I know this feeling. Duck ties. Hey. Hey. Who's. Who's there? Hello? I waited for a response, but nothing. But I know someone is within the room. I can hear their footsteps. They're walking back and forth. Hey.
Emily
Who are you?
Jack
I'm Jack. Who are you? What do you want from me? What are you doing here?
Emily
You look like the others.
Jack
Others? Jesus Christ. I. I don't understand. Who else is here? What others? I can hear her talking to herself, but I can't hear what she's saying. Who the hell is she talking to? What others?
Emily
I don't know what it's like seeing them. People you loved. Faces you trusted. They look perfect. Like they never left. And then.
Jack
What? What are you talking about? I can hear her footsteps fading. She. She's walking further away from me. What do you want from me? Hello? Hello? Are you still there? Okay. Okay, good. She's gone. This gives me some time to think. Oh, God. But my head. It feels like it's splitting open. I can feel the room. It feels like it's tilting. Or maybe it's just me. God damn it. Stay awake, Jack. You need to focus. No. No. I. I can't. I can't pass out.

There's something not right with this one. He looks different from the others.
Jack
The sound of her voice slowly wakes me, but it sounds like it's coming from another room. My head. I know this feeling. I've got a concussion. Hey, are you there?
Emily
Wait. He's awake. I've gotta go.
Jack
I try to free my hands again, hoping for the best. I try to squeeze through the duct ties, but she's put them on tight. That they're cutting into my skin. Come on, you bastard. Come on. God damn it. All right, Jack. You've been in this situation before. Just stay calm, okay? Listen, this isn't right. I. I don't know what's happening here, but I need to get back to the monitors now. Now. If I don't. If no one's watching those cells, something bad is going to happen. You have to tell me what's going on. Who. Who are you? Hello? Nothing. But I know she's still here. I can hear her breathing. Is she just watching me? Okay. How did you get in here? I was supposed to be the only one stationed here. Did. Did David send you? You're not alone, are you? Someone else is down here with you. I heard you talking to someone before. Great. She's not answering. She doesn't trust me. She's already made that clear. Now. Now she's just deciding what to do next. Ah, screw it. Who were you Talking to. Ah. Jesus Christ.
Emily
Who are you?
Jack
Ah. My name is Jack.
Emily
What are you doing here, Jack?
Jack
I don't understand. Is this another test?
Emily
Answer the question.
Jack
Ah, shit. You tell me. I woke up in that room. Then you came over and knocked me out. Why? Really? I could feel the sting off my hair being ripped out. She taped my eyes shut with duct tape. My vision's a mess. I can't see who she is. But it takes a second and things start to clear. And that's when I spot her. She's wearing some kind of mask. It looks like a gas mask, but not one I've ever seen before. That's when I see it. She's holding a hammer, but her hands are shaking. Good. She's not used to this.
Emily
What are you doing here?
Jack
I watch as she walks closer to me and. And turns the hammer around to show the claw side.
Unknown
Whoa, whoa.
Jack
Wait, wait, wait. What are you gonna do with that hammer?
Emily
I don't have time for this bullshit, Jack.
Jack
I. I look down at my hands. They're bound to the middle share. The duct ties pierce my skin as I struggle to shake free of them. I watch as she digs the claw of the hammer underneath one of my fingernails. Wait, wait, wait. Please. Please. Don't do this. Don't do this. Jesus Christ.
Emily
What are you doing here?
Jack
God damn it. I guess she isn't new to this after all. Screw this. I got nothing to lose. David didn't tell me anything, but being tortured was gonna be part of the job. Okay, okay, okay, Just. Just stop. I'll tell you everything. I don't give a shit if this is a test or not, okay? I was stationed here. I was stationed here by a man named David. They. They told me that I'll be here for the next six months looking after those three cells. I'm in charge of unlocking and locking them. That's it. That's all I know. I look into her mask, but. But the goggles show nothing. Shit. She doesn't believe me. I watch as she moves the claw of the hammer to the next nail and digs it underneath. Come on, Jack. Come on. You've been through worse. You can take this.
Emily
What are you doing here?
Jack
I told you. That's the truth. What else do you want? I was stationed here by a man named David. They didn't tell me anything about this place or what the fuck it is for.
Emily
You've got eight other fingers here. And I can do this all day until you tell me the truth.
Jack
I am a son of a. As I watch this woman preparing to rip out another fingernail. We both hear a faint beeping coming from the outside of the room. She. She finally stops. Wait. What the hell is that beeping sound? How. How come I haven't heard it before? She doesn't answer me. She. She quickly gets up and she just walked out of the room. As she opens the door, I see a metal corridor, but. But it doesn't look like any Corridor from bunker 8. Where the hell am I? I look around the room. I've never seen this place before. The walls are wet with droplets of water dripping from the ceiling.
Emily
He says he was stationed here by a man named David. Yeah, I know. He also said that he had to monitor some.
Jack
I hear the woman speaking to someone on the other side, but. But I don't hear any voice except her own. Who the hell is she talking to? But all I can hear now are just the droplets of water splashing against the ground. I look down at my fingers. Jesus Christ. It's going to take some time for them to grow back. Okay. I need to get out of here. Oh, shit. I can't believe I forgot the cells. How long have I been here? I need to talk to Violet. Come on. I try to get out of this goddamn chairper, but it's bolted to the ground. The duct ties the Terrymon rests apart. I won't be able to get out of this chair anytime soon. The only way out is through her. Think. Okay? I need to get her back into this room. I need to explain it to her. Hey. Hey. I need to talk to you. Shit. Shit. Wait, wait, wait. Tell me where I am. Are we in Bunker eight? She stops as she's just about to rip out another nail.
Emily
Bunker 8? How do you know about the bunkers?
Jack
I was stationed at Bunker 8. Unlocked one of the cells, and someone came up behind me and knocked me out. I woke up in the cell, but the core door was open. It was open, and I saw what was inside. After that, I. I blacked out and ended up here. But please. Please, that's the truth. If you don't believe me, ask Violet. That's who you're talking to, right?
Emily
Violet? What do you know about Violet?
Jack
I work with her. She was my contact, my. My handler. She knows what's going on in these bunkers. She sent me updates, instructions, everything. If you're in contact with her, just ask her. She'll explain to you who I am.
Emily
How do I know you're not just another trick? Another. They're everywhere. Everything is twisted. Time doesn't even make sense anymore.
Jack
What? What the hell are you talking about? Look, I don't know what's going on here, but I'm not one of these things or a trick, or whatever you think I am. I'm real.
Emily
Real? That's what they all say. The fragments, the echoes. They think they can fool me, but I know better. I know what happens when you let your guard down.
Jack
If I was one of those. Those things, would I be bleeding like this? Would I be in this much pain? Just. Just think about it for a second.
Emily
You say you worked with Violet. You say you saw what was inside the core.
Jack
Yes, I saw it. I don't even know how to describe. Wasn't human. It wasn't anything I've ever seen before.
Emily
You saw it. That's impossible. They told me no one could open the core doors. Not without authorization.
Jack
I don't believe anyone has authority to open the core. It opens from a timer. I didn't even have a chance to understand what was happening before I blacked out. And then I woke up here.
Emily
Here. This isn't Bunker eight. This is. This is Bunker three.
Jack
Bunker three? What the hell is Bunker three? I need to get back to Bunker eight.
Emily
Why were you in that room?
Jack
Jesus. I just told you what happened.
Emily
When they show up here, they always appear in the well. Always. That's the protocol. That's how it's always been since the beginning. But you. You were in the isolation room. Why?
Jack
I don't know.
Emily
Bullshit. People don't just wake up in there. That room is for that room.
Jack
What the hell is that room for then?
Emily
No one's supposed to know how to open that room except me.
Jack
Then maybe you should be asking yourself, who put me there?
Emily
You're lying.
Jack
I wish I was. Trust me. I don't want to be here any more than you want me here. But. But if you think I wanted to end up in that room, you're crazy than I thought.
Emily
Not crazy. This is where the fragments go with the things that don't belong. This is where they send them.
Jack
Them? What the hell are you talking about?
Emily
It's between the fragments bleed through here. Sometimes they're just shadows. Echoes of things that shouldn't exist. Sometimes they're worse.
Jack
And you think I'm one of them.
Emily
I don't know what you are. But if you really know Violet, then you'll have to tell her what you've just told me. And if she says you're telling the truth, then. Then maybe I'll let you go. Violet, you're going to want to hear this.
Jack
Emily.
Unknown
What's going on down there?
Emily
There's a man here. Says his name is Jack. Says he worked with you in Bunker Eight.
Jack
Jack. Violet, it's. It's me. It's. It's Jack.
Unknown
Jack? No. No, I've never spoken to anyone named Jack. Listen carefully, Emily. If there's someone in there with you, you need to.
Emily
Violet, no one remembers here.
Jack
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, wait. What the hell was that?
Emily
You're lying.
Jack
No. No, I'm not.
Emily
If Violet doesn't know you, then you're not who you say you are. The only way that works to get the truth out of someone is to tear it out of them.
Jack
God damn it. Please, you've got to let me go. I need to get back to Bunker eight.
Emily
Not now.
Jack
What is it?
Emily
It's them.
Jack
Who's them?
Emily
We're out of time.
