C
Jack. You need to stop.
A
Violet. Violet, Is that. What is this? Where are you calling from?
C
They're not watching the motel yet.
A
The voice is hers, but it sounds buried under layers. Like it had to crawl through something just to reach me. What happened to you, Violet?
C
Jack, please. You have to listen. Stop searching. You're only going to make this worse.
A
No, you don't get to say that. Not after all this.
C
If you keep digging, they'll bury you with it. You don't understand what you're walking into.
A
Then tell me.
C
I can't I don't even know if this call is mine to make.
A
Something's wrong here. There's interference on the line. It's control. Like the signal's being split and patched together. Someone's letting this happen or. Or listening in to what's happening. Where are you?
C
You don't want to know.
A
Please, just tell me. I can. I can help.
C
Jack. What the hell do you think you're doing?
A
What I'm doing? How about what they're doing to you, Violet? You think I'm just gonna sit around and.
C
I know about Blackridge. I know exactly why you stole. I know you're bleeding through whatever shitty bandage you've managed to throw on. And I know you know about Bunker Zero.
A
How do you know that? How do you even.
C
Jack, please. Stop asking questions you don't want the answers to.
A
No, you called me, remember? You're gonna explain this. What the hell is Bunker Zero?
C
It's not somewhere you go to find someone. It's where people get taken. You understand? It's built to erase people, Jack. To bury them.
A
Then why are you the there?
C
Because I didn't have a choice. You do.
D
Oh, God.
A
Look, Violet, I don't have a choice either. You're trapped in there. I'm not leaving you. You can't ask me to just walk away now.
C
This isn't like before, Jack. I'm telling you, begging you not to do this. If you come here, they won't let you leave.
A
Yeah, well, they've already tried pretty damn hard, and. And I'm still here.
C
You don't get it. They haven't even started yet. They're letting you run right now. Letting you think you can get to me. And the second you walk in here, it's over for both of us.
A
Then we'll deal with it when we get there. I'm not leaving you behind. Not again. You remember the last time we spoke? Like, really spoke? Before everything went to hell?
C
Of course I do. How could I forget?
A
1952, in bunker three. I had no idea what the hell just happened. One second I'm in the cells at bunk eight, and the next, I'm staring at concrete walls 40 years before I was even born.
C
I didn't even know who you were then, Jack. You were just some voice on the radio. Another problem I had to manage. Another loose thread.
A
Yeah, when I think about it, that's understandable. Emily. She was already unraveling. She wanted to rip the whole place apart. And honestly, I didn't blame her. You were the voice on the line, telling her to hold it together, to trust the system. I guess that makes two of us who trusted it too long. Jack, you saved me. Back then, I mean, you didn't even know who I was. And you pulled the soldiers back. Brought me enough time to get to the Shimmer, to get back home. I thought you cared.
C
I did care. I still do. That's exactly why I'm telling you to stop now. You weren't supposed to come back.
A
I wasn't supposed to come back. And you? What about you, Violet? You chose this.
C
It's not that simple.
A
Then answer me this. Why do you keep talking to me? Bunk eight is gone.
C
Because you're the only one left who still sees me as me.
A
What does that even mean?
C
It means everyone else looks at me and sees a job title, a protocol, a liability. To the company, I'm just a handler who's good at her job. To the people in the system, I'm a voice on the line telling them to calm down while they wait to die. But you. You remember things. What it was like before the assignments, before the cells, before we both forgot. Before we both forgot what we were even trying to do in there.
A
1952, the. The bunkers.
C
Yeah. You remember. That's the problem, isn't it? We both do.
A
That's not a. A problem.
C
Isn't it? Because every time I hear your voice, it pulls something up. Something I buried. And for a second, I feel like I'm still that person. Like I didn't turn into this. This thing. They molded you make me feel like I'm still worth saving.
A
Then why hide? Why let them keep you locked away? If there's still a part of you left, why stay buried in whatever this is? Violet, if you still feel like you, then explain to me. Because. Because from where I'm sitting, it looks pretty damn simple.
C
You have no idea what I've had to do. What they made me become.
A
And that's where I know we're the same. Violet. You think I don't get it, but I do. I should have seen it coming. All those signs. Every time we shut a cell door. Every time I heard someone scream through the walls and did nothing, I let them twist me. This whole thing could have ended years ago, but I let it keep going because it was easier to just follow orders.
C
Jack, stop blaming yourself. We both played our parts, but the Company isn't what you think. Those people in Bunker eight, It's not deliberate cruelty. It's survival. They don't know how to stop it. No One does. They barely even understand it. All they can do is control it, manage the fallout. If they tried to stop it completely, the consequences would be catastrophic. You have no idea how bad it could be.
A
Are you seriously defending them right now? After everything we've seen and done?
C
I'm not defending it. I'm just telling you how it is.
A
No, Violet, that's how it was. It's not. It's not that way anymore. Like I said before, Bunker 8 isn't active. It's gone. The Fall Protocol was initiated. I was there, Violet. I watched the system crash. The bodies. Jesus. So many bodies just started dropping into the cells all at once. It was like something ripped a hole straight through whatever kept things stable. And then. And then the core doors started opening on their own. The system told me directly I had a 0.1% chance of surviving the fall. One in a million, Violets. Somehow I made it. I wasn't supposed to get out. No one was. Bunker eight is finished. The company lost control. It's time you accept that.
C
You don't understand. God, Jack. You really have no idea what's coming.
A
Yeah, I think I do. I've seen the news, what it's done to the world.
C
Listen carefully. The Violet you knew. That person doesn't exist anymore. She's gone.
A
Yeah, well, I don't believe that. I won't.
C
You need to believe it. I'm trying to protect you.
A
Protect me from what? You keep talking around it, Violet. Why can't you just say it?
C
I'm barely allowed to say this much. They're listening, Jack. The people watching this call, they'll already be moving. You don't have time.
A
I don't care who's listening. I don't care if they're already outside the door. I'll find a way to you. I promise.
C
Why, Jack? Why are you even doing this?
A
Because you're exactly like me, Violet. We spent our whole lives being used tools in someone else's hands, thinking we were making a difference. Thinking we were doing the right thing. Thing. Even when it felt wrong. And every damn time, we ended up alone. For the first time in a very long time, I actually care what happens. Not about the company. Not about the bunkers. Not even about surviving. I care about you. And that's enough for me.
C
If you come looking for me. Jack, you're not going to like what you find.
A
Violet, please tell me exactly where you are.
C
Jack, it won't matter.
A
It will matter. Trust me on this. - 5476-446693-66550. Sector 9, sublevel Delta 3. Violet. Violet, are you still there? Shit. God damn it. But those were coordinates at the end there. Sector nine, sub level delta three. She said it clearly, right up until the last part. Then the line cut out, distorted, like something scrambled it on purpose. Could have been interference, but it could have been them. Still, I've got nothing else. No more leads, no backup. Just this. She's there. If there's even a chance, I have to follow it. Okay, those coordinates. Minus 54.76.4467. What was it again? Minus 69.366550. Alright, coordinates are one thing. Actually getting there is another. I don't have a phone that works, barely any cash in my pocket, and this damn cut in my side still stings every time I move. Ah, let's see. Okay, good. It's just a flesh wound. Not as bad as I thought when it happened. It'll heal on its own if I don't do anything stupid. Still, does it make the rest of this any easier? Okay, I figure the only shot I have is that old desktop in the motel office. The clerk's probably still there.

D
Hello again.
A
Listen, I really need to use your computer, okay? It's urgent.
D
Urgent as in you need some alone time with the Internet?
A
What? No, no, Jesus. I just need directions, that's it.
D
Uh huh. 20 bucks for 10 minutes.
A
$20? Jesus, what a scam. But I don't have time to argue. Yeah, yeah, alright, fine, fine. Here.
D
All right, I'll give you some privacy. I'll be in the back if you need anything.
A
Ah, yeah, okay, thanks. Okay, I type in the coordinates and there it is. Ah, shit. It's way down south. Practically the end of the continent. Somewhere remote enough that nobody would think to look. Great. I lean back in the chair, trying to wrap my head around it. It's not just a quick drive. It's gonna take days, maybe even weeks to even get close. Flights, buses, shit. God knows what else. Even if I burn through everything I've got, every last dollar, it's still going to take time. But at least now there's something. At least now I know where to start. A place to go, a reason to keep moving. I'll print off the directions. Gotcha. They're already here.
D
What the hell's going on? Two customers in one day? That's impossible.
A
Listen, I really need you to listen to me, okay? Don't tell them I'm here.
D
What?
A
Don't tell them I'm here, please. If you do, I'm dead. Hide.
D
Afternoon. What can I do for you?
A
Have you seen this man?
D
Let's see here.
A
Have you seen him?
D
Nope. Haven't seen this guy anywhere.
A
We traced a call to this property.
D
Sorry about this. Haven't had anyone check in in about four days. Probably broke in. Happens quite often here. You can check every room if you want.
A
Will do.
D
You can come out now.
A
Oh, thank you. Thank you so much.
D
Don't mention it. Never liked authority much. Besides, I'm wanted in six countries myself. Figured I'd help a fellow fugitive.
A
Sorry, what?
D
Go. Before they come back.
A
Yeah, of course. Thank you.
C
Perimeter sweep complete. Start checking rooms.
A
There's a few of them. They're walking towards the rooms. Good. If I'm going to move, it has to be now. Okay, good. Good. Of I've lost them. But. But I have nothing but this map. No phone, no plan, just a location that I need to reach. I don't even know how I'm gonna get there. South is all I have. South. And whatever I can figure out on the way, I'll find her. One way or another. I've come too far to turn back. I can't stop now. Not when I'm this close. Bunker 8 written and edited by Dean Smythe Story by Dean Smythe Starring Laura Hamilton as Violet, Marcus Hale as motel clerk and Dean Smythe as as Jack Bunker 8 is made completely independently, so if you're enjoying the show, it would mean a lot if you would subscribe. In one of the series' most emotionally charged episodes, Jack—an Australian ex-soldier haunted by his past—makes contact with Violet, a key figure tied to the secretive and perilous Bunker 8. Set against a backdrop of growing paranoia and looming threats, this installment focuses on their desperate conversation, unraveling their shared history, the true threat of “Bunker Zero,” and the heavy cost of seeking the truth. “I have nothing but this map. No phone, no plan, just a location that I need to reach. I don’t even know how I’m gonna get there. South is all I have. South. And whatever I can figure out on the way, I’ll find her. One way or another.” (21:05)
The episode is a tense, emotional blend of psychological thriller and sci-fi mystery, marked by desperation, fleeting hope, and the lasting trauma of secrets long kept. Dialogue is raw, often broken by static, like memories clawing their way through interference. The pacing alternates between breathless and reflective, always haunted by the knowledge that someone—or something—is listening.
“You Need to Stop” intricately weaves together revelations about Bunker Zero, the emotional wreckage of those tied to its legacy, and the inescapable pull of unfinished business. Jack’s determination collides with Violet’s warnings and trauma, and the brief moments of genuine connection and shared pain push the narrative—and Jack—toward even greater danger. With fresh coordinates in hand and nearly everything against him, Jack's odyssey deeper into the unknown is only just beginning.
