Game day season is here and if you're like me, you want to serve up incredible food without missing a single play. And that's where Gorton's Seafood comes in. For over 175 years, Gorton's has been serving up restaurant quality seafood that's unbelievably easy to make and ready in just a few minutes. Which is speaking my language. Whether you need some protein for your pregame meal or a whole spread of crunchy craveable appetizers for the crew, Gorton's has you covered with tons of easy prep seafood options like their popcorn shrimp or classic fish sticks. Think about it. Restaurant quality seafood, ready in minutes and at a fresh fraction of the cost of eating out. It's the perfect solution for your watch party whether you're hosting a big crowd or just having a lazy couch session. Me, I just bought an air fryer. Dan and I just got an air fryer and we had a big air fryer weekend where we fried up a bunch of stuff and part of the reason was because we wanted to cook up our Gorton's popcorn shrimp that we had in the freezer. It was so tasty, so easy to make and just such a nice little game day treat. Visit gortons.com to learn more, find a store and get recipe inspiration.

Katie Nolan
Did you see the new skims collection Yeah, I did. How would you describe it?
Isabella
I don't get it. You know, if you didn't know it, you can grow it on your own.
Katie Nolan
It's got. It has. I'm trying to think of. For a listener who hasn't seen it, I just have to say the word. I guess it has pubic hair on it.
Isabella
Yep.
Katie Nolan
It has a. It comes with a bush.
Isabella
Yes.
Katie Nolan
It is called the ultimate bush. And it is a barely there thong with a variety of hair textures and tones attached to the front. Hey, at least they considered their diverse customer base. Yeah, that's important when you're putting a merkin on the front of your underpants. I thought the bush goes inside, right? What are we putting it on the. Out. Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Isabella
The inside of the thong.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Isabella
Not inside of you. I was like, that's.
Katie Nolan
I'm not Katie.
Isabella
I think you got to check that out.
Katie Nolan
Hey, Katie, did you go to school ever? Hey, that's where mine grows. I don't know what to tell you. Hello and welcome to Casuals, the podcast that wants everybody that believes everybody can love sports and wants to help everybody try. I'm Katie Nolan. I'm your host. Love sports. Love you mean that. Joined today pretty briefly here at the top by my casualties. We have Isabella.
Isabella
Hi.
Katie Nolan
We have Brady.
Brady
Hello.
Katie Nolan
We have Chris. Hi. Hi, everybody. If you want to reach out to us, casualswithkatienolan@gmail.com. our voicemail is 646-801-0043. On IG and TikTok, we are asualsthepodcast today. A quick change of plans. We're supposed to have a live show today. Something has come up and plans had to change and so we've pivoted. That's okay. We have an amazing episode for you that we were going to drop as a bonus that now is we're gonna theme around professional wrestling because professional wrestling is a sport and it's one that I know a lot of people don't have an entry point to, myself included originally. And we found a great entry point wrestler with a great entry point gimmick. And he will be joining us here in a little bit.
Orange Cassidy
His.
Katie Nolan
He goes by the name of Orange Cassidy and we're going to talk to him about wrestling and. And how, you know, how he developed his character and why. I think it's one of the best across pro wrestling for the casual fans. We'll get into all of that. We're also going to show his gimmick to Isabella, which I'm A little excited for. Because I think she's really going to enjoy it. Before we get into that, a couple pieces of housekeeping. Number one, our merch is live. That's right, everybody. Casuals merch. You can buy it. You can now be a part of the team. We got a lot of stuff. There's hats. I'm wearing one right now. It's. I know. Audio medium. I'm just confessing to you. I'm just being honest. I'm wearing the hat. It's blue, it's embroidered, and it's nice. Isabella again, I know. Audio medium, but she is modeling our premium hoodie.
Isabella
Can you hear the.
Katie Nolan
It's so soft. That gray. It's like a grayish. It's millennial grayish.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
With the Casuals logo with a blue stroke on the outside of it. And then like a. It's the lime green from the logo. Very comfy. That thing I've been wearing, the sample that I had that I picked it from for a while, just as a sweatshirt. It's a nice, soft, beautiful sweatshirt. But there's also tees and enamel pins. I believe we got some socks. So we have a whole bunch of stuff. You go to SiriusXM store.com casuals and if you use the code Casuals, do they have to caps lock it like that or.
Isabella
No?
Brady
Probably.
Katie Nolan
Okay, do it. Just try. Did you hear that the younger kids are now using caps lock as the shift button? Like when they want to capitalize the beginning of their sentence, they're hitting caps lock Letter Caps lock.
Brady
Why do young people make things harder?
Katie Nolan
Isn't that nuts? And they think we're nuts.
Isabella
Oh, no.
Katie Nolan
That we use the shift button. What are you doing? Isabella, when you type the beginning of a sentence and you cap and I.
Isabella
Want to capitalize at the shift.
Katie Nolan
Right. Because you.
Isabella
I'm only doing caps lock if I'm making, like writing a whole.
Katie Nolan
Exactly.
Isabella
Or something.
Katie Nolan
That's what it's. That's the way the Lord intended, but I guess it was a whole discourse. Anyway, Casuals is the code. It's really creative. And. And get your merch. And you get 25% off if you use Casuals.
Brady
So in one day, we've already had demands for new T shirts.
Katie Nolan
What do you mean?
Brady
You know what? If people have demands, they want Papa Nooner shirts.
Katie Nolan
Oh, we're gonna do that around March Madness. I want hey, Isabella shirts. I want, like, embroidered little hey Isabella T shirts. I think that's cute. But I also wanted to make sure you were a full time Employee before we put your name on your merch.
Isabella
I appreciate that.
Katie Nolan
Got you. I got you. We have Chris. You're our mailbox guy. Maven, I think is a female word, right? Maven. I don't know. So you're our mailbox man.
Brady
Maestro.
Katie Nolan
Maestro. Thank you. Our mailbox magistrate. Is that a thing?
Isabella
Why did you pick a new one?
Katie Nolan
I don't know. Cause I wanted to one up Brady. Why would I? Why do I do anything? Chris, do we have anything? Any feedback we need to get to before we hop into this podcast?
Chris
Well, we just have a trio of nice stories that I want to share from our listeners. Katie, with all a connecting theme. So let's see if you can figure out what the theme is. The first email is from Andrea, and Andrea says, hi, casualties. My name is Andrea and I'm the fiance of I puk a ring on it.
Isabella
Oh.
Chris
From our fantasy league. In the show's fantasy league. His name is Rigo.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Chris
And he has been a fan of the podcast since the start. He talks about it nearly every day and has tried numerous times to get me to be a listener. I'm just not a podcast person in general. But we get married today, and this is. We're recording this on Wednesday. So they are getting married on the 15th of October today. And it would be so super special if he we could get a shout out on the podcast as a congrats. He pulled up the podcast just yesterday to have me listen to the blurb on how much Katie doesn't like the name. So great. It's totally my fault that that's the name because he originally went with that and then changed it to Balls and Chains, which I shut down immediately. So he changed it back. And he's also a huge fan of Katie's fiance, Dan. Yeah, just saw his show when he was in Seattle a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, thought I'd try to give Rigo a huge surprise by getting a shout out from the podcast. Thank you all for doing this show. It brings him so much joy. Many thanks, Andrea.
Katie Nolan
Andrea, first of all, congrats. Congrats on the nuptials. You guys did it. You did the thing I've been putting off even planning for a while, and you did it. You did it. And the day has come and you're getting married. Congratulations, you guys.
Chris
Starting stuff from India.
Katie Nolan
And Rigo, thanks for listening. Thanks for listening and thanks for trying. I still think let's not give up on Andrea in terms of converting her into a listener. I really do think we can get her eventually.
Chris
This has got to help. If we're giving you a shout out, you got to be a full time listener.
Katie Nolan
But at the same time, we're happy to do this, and we won't expect anything in return. We're just doing it. We didn't get invited to the wedding. I noticed.
Chris
That's a good point.
Katie Nolan
I had nothing to do, so that's kind of a tough.
Brady
I can't guarantee we didn't.
Katie Nolan
Oh, okay. So maybe we did.
Brady
We do get several in the inbox.
Katie Nolan
Shout out Rigo.
Brady
Check on that one.
Katie Nolan
Shout out Rigo. I hope that the. My favorite thing that happens at a wedding is when the bride comes down the aisle and the groom is standing at the front of the aisle, I guess, traditionally, and. Ow. I just scratched myself in the face. And you see the. You see him see her and start to, like, get emotional. I get so. I like to. Yeah. I get so emotional seeing the guy go like, oh, my God, this is my wife. And she's walking towards me. And here it is.
Chris
Yeah.
Isabella
If you're not crying for me, then we're breaking up on the spot.
Katie Nolan
That's right. You guys are full of tears when you first see how hot I look that day.
Chris
I'm turning around, reach for the tear ducts.
Katie Nolan
I'm heading. Yeah, yeah.
Brady
If someone could split screen that on a monitor, that'd be great, because it is hard to look at both bride and groom as they're approaching from each side.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, that is true. I also cry. I've never been to a wedding where when the bride comes out for her first. You know, when she's first revealed that, I don't go like, oh, my God, here I go. I've been at weddings where I've never even met the bride. I'm here because I'm with. I'm a plus one. And the. The bride is marrying their friend. So I barely know this person. And she comes out and I go, oh, my God, so gorgeous. Look at her makeup. Look how beautiful she looks. Look at how he's looking at her every time. And it's probably to the family. They're like, what is this lady sobbing about? We don't even know her cousin. I can't help it. I can't. They get me going.
Brady
There's no Katie Nolan, professional wedding guest. I guess bring you in as a ringer.
Katie Nolan
Maybe I'm not too bad at it, especially if there's an open bar. So congrats to you guys. We're happy. We're happy that it isn't casual that it's actually quite formal today for you. So happy wedding. And. And we. And the check in the card is from all of us. That's from all of us.
Chris
Yes, yes, absolutely.
Katie Nolan
That gift is on behalf of all of us. All right. That you said a trio, so I assume there's two more.
Chris
There is. Next is a voicemail from Chris in Chicago. Let's have a listen.
Katie Nolan
Hi, Katie and the casualties. Did you see that? I proposed at the end of the.
Orange Cassidy
Chicago Marathon and he said yes. Aw.
Katie Nolan
I'm engaged now, so I love you.
Orange Cassidy
Mean it.
Katie Nolan
And I love him.
Isabella
Mean it.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my God.
Chris
Good for you, Chris from Chicago.
Katie Nolan
Thanks, Chris.
Brady
Love it.
Katie Nolan
When was the marathon?
Chris
Over the weekend.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my God. Congratulations. Did you. And I assume they ran in it, but it's kind of fun just viewing it.
Chris
And then at the very end, Chris pops the question. That would be hilarious.
Katie Nolan
It's kind of funny if they didn't. Neither of them did. And they just at the finish line were like, wanna get married?
Isabella
They're just marathon enthusiasts through Chicago and.
Chris
They'Re like, hey, there's the marathon. Wanna get married? Perfect.
Katie Nolan
That's actually the coolest way to make a marathon about you is by like, do not participate. Just propose at the end of it. Oh, that's so. That makes so happy. I also was wor. I just had realized while we were listening to his voicemail, I was like, oh. The way I spoke about weddings in that last email, I was a little heteronormative because we were talking about a heterosexual couple. And then Chris from the heavens says, and an opportunity to immediately say that if it were a groom walking out and I saw, I would probably cry exactly the same. Don't think you guys can get out of getting me to cry at your wedding. Chris and whatever the name of your now fiance is. Oh, my God. Congratulations at. So exciting. Oh, I'm so happy. Okay, and you're saying there's a third?
Chris
There is a third. This one's from Nikki from Seattle. And Nikki says, hey, Katie and the casualties. My name is Nikki and I'm a born and raised Seattle, Washington resident currently living in South Seattle with my fiance Amanda and our fur babies. I also have been a longtime fan of Katie and listen to casuals religiously during my long commutes to work. I consider myself a pretty big sports girly. Mostly women's sports, but love the approach your podcast has on sports and fandom. And admittedly I am a casual baseball fan, but because the Mariners are on such an exciting and historic postseason run. I have been watching a ton more baseball than I normally do. My question is, are there different rules around switching pitches in the postseason versus regular season? There seems to be a lot of pitching changes happening in the middle of games and innings and an endless supply of pitches, which feels different than just a regular season game. Now, we can answer that in a second, but the reason why I wanted to have this email is because Nikki finishes the email by saying, keep up the amazing work with this podcast and all you're doing in the sports world.
Orange Cassidy
Love you.
Chris
Mean it. P.S. we are getting married on October 18th.
Isabella
Oh, my goodness.
Chris
Saturday.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my gosh.
Chris
So congratulations to Nikki and Amanda who are getting married this weekend. Everyone's getting married. Everyone's getting engaged.
Katie Nolan
Game.
Chris
What a week. Something in the air.
Katie Nolan
Will there be a game? Is there a Mariners game on Saturday?
Brady
No, that's the off day between games 5, 5 and 6. Perfect.
Katie Nolan
If we need it.
Chris
If it makes it that far.
Katie Nolan
Because who's to even say? Can you imagine both of those series being at 2? Nothing is confusing to me. Yeah, I feel rather confused where we're sitting. It's Wednesday when you're hearing this, it's going to be Thursday. So there will be a third game in the books and we don't know how that goes. I'm excited to watch that tonight, but congratulations. Good luck this weekend. I hope everything goes swimmingly. Everything I've ever heard about a wedding is that all the planning leads up to the day and then you forget to enjoy the day. So make sure you enjoy the day. And then what was the actual question that we were going to get back?
Chris
The amount of pitching changes in the postseason and how there seems to be a lot more.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I think in the postseason. Brady, you probably know better than me the actual rules of how many pitchers you can bring and stuff. I know there was one team that was getting criticized for not bringing enough pitchers or instead bringing too many pitchers and not bringing enough, like, pinch hitters and pinch runners. I don't remember who that was now, but I think in general when it comes to pitching in the postseason, I mean, we are right now, the day after Yamamoto just pitched a complete game for the Dodgers. It. The philosophy is more like you have a lot shorter of a leash on your starting pitcher. So if things start to get out of hand and. And a team is getting a bit of a lead, they will be a lot quicker to pull out that pitcher than they would during a regular season game where, you know, anything can happen in any inning. I think in the postseason it's mostly, you know, you're more likely to pull a pitcher if they're struggling and try another pitcher. Um, there's a fish. There's an. A rule that started a few years ago. Three, question mark, question mark, question mark. Where when a pitcher comes in from the bullpen, they have to pitch to three consecutive batters. You can't pull them before that. They have to see face at least three batters. So that's like rule wise, how long an appearance has to be. It can't be any shorter than that. But that you'll see plenty of pitchers come in for just that amount in the postseason because they are playing to the what side of the plate the batter is hitting from. They are using what arm the pitcher throws with to sort of get the best matchup in terms of based on the math. And then, yeah, they're a lot more likely to pull a guy if he's not being dominant. Because you don't there. You can't just. You gotta win every game in the postseason is the approach. Brady, does that make sense? Does that need more facts?
Brady
Yeah. And I think the other point for why there's more pitching changes because there's just more relief pitchers. You really only need three or four starting pitchers in the postseason because they're best of seven series and you have more off days in the regular season. You have a rotation of five guys in the postseason, you only need three, sometimes four. But that just leaves room on your roster to take some of those guys who you would save as starters, put them in the bullpen, and you can just cycle through relievers more often. And also guys aren't too tired to pitch because you have more off days. You just have a lot more pitchers available to you to just keep throwing them at batters based on what matchup is going to be a benefit to you.
Katie Nolan
One of the most exciting things of the postseason, I think, is when you see a starting pitcher coming in relief and most of the time they'll say like, hey, this is the first time this guy, I mean, you've seen him on the mound before, but he's never come in in a situation like this. He's never inherited a baserunner. How does that affect him? Is that different? And it's always just, I don't know, cool to see a starting pitcher come in and go, I'll do whatever I can to help out. So I love that. But yes, good noticing for a casual baseball fan. Good noticing that things are different in the postseason when it comes to pitching than they are in the regular season. And go Mariners. We, as a podcast, I think, are comfortable saying that we are rooting for that team. Yes. Sure. Yeah.
Chris
Oh, yeah.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady
Oh, yeah.
Katie Nolan
Okay. I didn't know it's going to hold out and want to. Well, Toronto can be fun, too. They're also. And I like their fan base, but that Seattle team, I mean, Big Dumper, what a season. If I had to look at that butt plug T shirt for that long, it better pay off.
Brady
You know, I want between Big Dumper and Thickie Henderson. Josh Naylor.
Katie Nolan
That's right.
Brady
So much thigh running around.
Katie Nolan
Vicki Henderson.
Brady
Oh.
Katie Nolan
So go, go Mariners and enjoy your wedding. Maybe by then. Because game five is Friday night, so maybe by then you'll already be onto the World Series. I don't know. I don't want to say I'm not.
Chris
Going to celebrate your wedding, Mariners.
Katie Nolan
Pretty exciting. And you would be allowed. We wouldn't judge you. You're allowed to pretend you are the most die hard of fans that day. If they make it to the World Series and you're at your wedding, no one's going to be like, she didn't even like them that much. I think that would be silly. And so congrats. Oh, my God, you guys. I loved that. I loved the love at the top of the show.
Chris
Yeah. Puts it all. Puts us all in a good mood. I feel. I know. Tone for the episode.
Katie Nolan
Right? And then here's the thing. I just remembered that yesterday at the end of the episode, I said, somebody remind me that I want to yap about. And now I'm like, after we set this lovely tone, maybe I should hold off on my upset. Yap. It just really bothered me, you know, they announced that the halftime show is going to be Bad Bunny. An artist that I've admitted I don't have a lot of context for. I don't. That's not necessarily my type of music. I watched clips of famous people that go to Bad Bunny concerts, much like I've watched clips of famous people who go to anybody's concerts. Beyonce mostly just stuff that gets posted online. And it looks like the most fun time being at a Bad Bunny concert. And I stand on I Will die on the hill. Bruno Mars was an underrated, amazing halftime performer. Because even if you weren't a Bruno Mars fan or knew a lot of his songs, he put on a hell of a show. And I feel like Bad Bunny to me goes in that category where I was like, oh, interesting. And I get it from a Marketing standpoint, the league making a business decision. They're always talking about want to wanting to expand internationally. This would bring in a fan who maybe wouldn't have watched the super bowl. And. And now they're getting eyeballs on the product, and the product is, you know, potentially spreading across, you know, Latin America. It makes sense. It makes. It all adds up. And it doesn't offend me. To see how upset people got about this was a little jarring. It was a little jarring. I was a little like, are we being serious about this? It's a halftime performance. It's the thing people used to use to make fun of women who were watching the Super Bowl. I can't tell you how many times I've had people turn and go like, this is the part you're here for, right? It's like, no, I'm here for the football. But yes, I'm also going to enjoy this concert. My favorite halftime show of all time. Just while we're here talking about it, I know Prince is probably the greatest one of all time, but my favorite, the one that spoke to exactly who I was when it happened was the Britney Spears with. I don't even remember who else was in it. Aerosmith, maybe. Also run dmc, maybe. Question mark. It was like a big mishmash. But Brittany wore that. I was on my. I was heavy into Britney at the time, so that was perfect for me. It was just weird. It was weird. And then I saw. I just said I wasn't going to get into it, but then I saw Turning Point usa, the company that's now run by Charlie Kirk's widow, announced that they're going to counter program with a halftime show of their own. And they called it the All American Halftime Show. And I just, first of all, announcing it with artists to be announced later. Crazy. So you have nothing. You've booked nobody. You just want to capitalize on the news cycle and make sure that people don't forget. So, okay, that's blatantly transparent. Then in the replies to this being posted, we're like, let us know who you'd like to hear. You want me to book it? You want the fan? That's like saying you're launching a podcast and going, who should I have as a guest? Or I see this one a lot. Where someone goes, I'm having such and such on the podcast this week. What should I ask? That's your job. You have to figure that out.
Brady
You can feel attacked on that one.
Katie Nolan
You can do a section of the show where you Go. And now I'm going to go to fan questions. You can absolutely do that as a segment. But sometimes I see people go like, hey guys, I have this person on this week. What should I ask? And it's like, I don't know your producer for some help. This is not the job of social media. And so they posted this thing, they named it the all American halftime show which is telling on yourself. It's telling on yourself because Puerto Rico, ladies and gentlemen, America. Puerto Rico is part of United States. That is our, I don't know cousin I feel like would be the safe. The comparison to what our relationship is with them. That's family to us. Speaking of family, in the announcement of this they said, oh, I wish I had it. They said something like celebrating something. The second thing they wrote was family trying to f. Sorry, you're right. Faith family.
Brady
There was a third and freedom.
Katie Nolan
And freedom.
Jeff Bridges (character)
Celebrating freedom.
Katie Nolan
Listen and look, I don't judge any. I'm not trying to make anybody feel about any of their political beliefs. What I am trying to point out is how blatantly obvious it is what they're trying to do here. And I don't think you general person in America is this stupid. Don't prove me wrong. I don't think you're this dumb that when they say that theirs is going to celebrate faith family and what was the last one?
Isabella
Freedom.
Katie Nolan
How in what way? It just also just. It's glaring to me because when I think of anybody I've ever met who's Puerto Rican, all of my Puerto Rican friends from growing up, any Puerto Rican person I've interacted with family, they win. They've got the strongest family ties. They've got the most like they've got family members who they're like they're not really family, but they are my family. Like the strongest culturally. You're not going to out family Puerto Rico. What are we talking about? But you know what we're talking about? We're talking about all the dog. That's all a dog whistle. It's all a dog whistle to say we don't want that guy and that type of music, speak English. That type of energy and it's embarrassing. That's all. This isn't a yap. This was me saying I'm not doing a yap. But I just wanted to say it's like, I don't know, it's so obviously transparent that I'm embarrassed by it. I'm embarrassed for them.
Brady
They act like they're reinvent. They're Inventing the concept of counter programming the super bowl when there have been 21 puppy bowls.
Katie Nolan
Excuse me. Let's not erase the puppies, okay? Lots of puppies have found good homes by playing their hearts out, leaving it all out on the field so that they could get adopted at the Puppy Bowl. The Puppy bowl, which, starting last year, I think had. Was it kitten cheerleaders or it was bunny ref. They started to integrate other animals into it, which I thought was kind of fun. The puppies are obviously still the star, but you can. If puppies aren't your thing, you can.
Brady
Well, there was a. There was a Kitten bowl also that was launched after. And the Kitten bowl, play by play was called by John Sterling.
Katie Nolan
Okay, wait, maybe it is for me. Yeah, See, it's actually kind of funny.
Brady
It's.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it's okay. You can have your little concert, but I. You should at least have an artist to announce. It's like such a transparent move to go, we're gonna do our own show first follow up question, who's gonna be there? And they go, who do you want to be there?
Brady
That's literally the plot of Wayne's World 2.
Katie Nolan
Who do you want? And so who's the kind of artist you'd like to see? I don't know. Finish thinking of the idea. You made a graphic before you made a list. Call Kid Rock. I'm sure he's not busy. I'm sure he's not busy. I should also say there's like a. You know, in the era of misinformation, there was a graphic that I think was made as a joke that was circulating, getting picked up by a lot of outlets, that it was being headlined by Kid Rock. That was a. That was not real. That was a fake lineup that somebody put together. So I have. Keeping my finger on that pulse. I'll do that for you so you don't have to. And we'll let you know, I guess, when they announce who it is that's performing. Look, you're allowed to hate the halftime performance. They can't please everybody in the building. And I think in this instance, they tried to please the people who either aren't in the building or who don't usually find themselves in that building. And I think that's fair of them to do. You can change the channel. You can go to the bathroom. You could help out in the kitchen, make some more food for the second half. You could go through the squares and see how everybody's doing and how it's looking like it's Going to shake out. You could gasp, talk to your friends. You could scroll your phone. You don't have to. There's been plenty of halftime shows that I'm like, this is not for me. Tweet your jokes, and then we move back to the game. That's how it goes. To be this upset about the show happening in the middle of the game. You're telling on yourself, you don't like football. You don't. You're not interested in the game at all. How could this upset you this much? It's embarrassing. Grow up.
Brady
The graphic that got circulated, touted headliner Kid Rock, performance by Ted Nugent and a special guest appearance by Measles. And it got picked up and circulated.
Katie Nolan
Here's the thing. Believable. It is believable. Measles, not a bad band name and currently running rampant. So that's good. I guess we'll see what that turns out to be. Am I happiest if they end up not even pulling it off, or am I happiest if they pull it off and it's embarrassing and, like, the level of like, I can't tell which I'm rooting for more Ba.
Orange Cassidy
What?
Brady
Da Ba. In an empty stadium. That's what you're going to be happiest with?
Katie Nolan
Isabella. Have you ever heard a. You think they're going to do it in a stadium? Have you ever heard a Kid Rock song?
Isabella
I think so, but I don't. What's the most popular one? How does it go?
Katie Nolan
It's called B with Da Ba.
Isabella
Maybe. I don't think so.
Chris
I. I actually quite like that song.
Katie Nolan
You do? I mean, it was a jam. Yeah, it was definitely a jam.
Chris
I'm not changing the channel years ago.
Katie Nolan
It wasn't recent.
Isabella
I'm thinking of a different artist. There's an artist that I confuse Kid Rock with.
Katie Nolan
I actually love you. To figure out who it is.
Isabella
No, I'm not. Even if. And if I figure it out, I'm never telling you.
Katie Nolan
No, tell us.
Isabella
No, it's gonna take me a while to figure out. I'm thinking of a. Fuck. I'm thinking of an artist who. I think you know what it is. I think I'm conflating an artist that did something at a Trump rally or something like. Or maybe when he was. He was inaugurated, it was.
Katie Nolan
This sounds like hit rock to me.
Isabella
No, but that artist.
Katie Nolan
I know there's hands with a gun, the one who bought a bunch of Bud Light and then shot it with a gun, didn't drink it to show that he won't be buying it anymore.
Chris
It was the funniest thing ever.
Katie Nolan
Isn't he, like, not from the south, even? Isn't he?
Brady
No. God, no. He's from, like, the rich part of the suburbs of Michigan.
Katie Nolan
That part. That part. Because I'm a cowboy, baby. Yeah. Oh, wait, is that the one that goes like that with the top?
Isabella
Because I'm a cow.
Katie Nolan
Shining cowboy, baby. Yeah.
Isabella
Okay.
Katie Nolan
Spent all my time on Hollywood and Vine, is what he says there. That's a cowboy thing to do. He doesn't make a lot of sense. Listen, culturally, at the moment that he happened, it was. It. He has. I haven't seen him evolve in any way since. He's still the same. He's not man rock.
Isabella
Um.
Katie Nolan
All right, well, let's do what I said we were gonna do instead, which is talk about orange. Cassidy, Isabella.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Pro wrestling. So like wwe, aew.
Isabella
They're the same thing?
Katie Nolan
No, no, no. Two different leagues. But it doesn't matter. Not important. We don't. Let's not bog you down with details too much. Okay. How much pro. What's your interaction with pro wrestling? When you were a kid, maybe, or if you have a family member who really likes it, anything. The answer can also be zero.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Isabella
Pro wrestling is not the one where they're in a cage. Right. They're in a ring.
Katie Nolan
They're in a ring. They can be in a cage. But let's, again, not bog her down with details in general. It's a ring. The squared circle, as they call it.
Isabella
Very, very little.
Katie Nolan
Very little. So, no, like. Like the Undertaker or like Brett the Hitman Heart, or.
Isabella
I know the name the Undertaker. And that. That is a person.
Katie Nolan
Yep. And, like, Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Isabella
I know that name is. I'm sorry.
Katie Nolan
No, no, no, no, no, no. Don't ever be sorry. That's just me going like, we have failed you. We don't. We're not giving you the full cultural context. But, you know, pro wrestling, it's not. It's. Okay.
Isabella
Don't make fun of me.
Katie Nolan
I'm not. I won't. I never would.
Isabella
Is John Cena wrestling?
Katie Nolan
Yes, ma'. Am.
Isabella
Okay.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, we're on the board, ma'. Am. The Rock.
Isabella
Yeah, okay, Right.
Katie Nolan
Famous names. But the. You know, the. We dance around this in the interview as well. It's not that it's fake. It's just that it's scripted. The outcome is predetermined. And they're doing the. They're taking real bumps, as they call them. They are really Wrestling each other. But it is a predetermined for the storyline. It's almost like I've heard it compared to a soap opera that it's like a fighting theater. Yes. Yes. That's perfect. Immediately a perfect understanding of it. I love this. See?
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
So Orange Cassidy is a wrestler now. Dan, my fiance, a huge wrestling fan. Like, he would be finding all of the flaws in anything I've said so far. He could tell you like specific matches from specific WrestleManias and what happened. He just. His eyes glaze over. He goes up into his head and you just get to watch him tell you about it in a way that's fascinating. It's fascinating and it's. At points I have to go like, hey, Dan, let's turn it down. A few details you're getting. I'm. You're losing me. I'm lost in all of the information that you have. He. And I've always tried. I've tried to get into wrestling. I. I've been to some. I went to a SummerSlam, a WWE event with my friend Ashley, who I used to have a podcast with. I'm open to the idea, but nothing has ever really fully hooked me because I feel like I'm picking up on like the eighth chapter of something and without knowing all the backstory, it's hard to get as involved. And then I found Orange Cassidy. Orange Cassidy is a wrestler who wrestles in jeans. He wears jeans and a. What's it called when jeans are a shirt? Is that chambray? He wears a good. A jean shirt and a T shirt with his own face on it and sunglasses and he puts his hands in his pockets and his whole thing is that he does not care. He does not care. He does not try. He's cool. And that's his vibe. Just from having it described to you, does that feel like it resonates?
Nikki
Yes.
Katie Nolan
Okay. I will also say what I love the most about him is that in spite of all of that, he is also an incredibly technical wrestler. He's like very good and does really impressive wrestling stuff when he eventually has to wrestle. But all up until that is kind of his shtick. So I thought we would show you a clip of Orange Cassidy so that you could see sort of the vibe of what it's like when he comes and wrestles. And maybe we can put the link to the clip Chris in the. How do we like let listeners know what clip it is that we watched so that they could watch it too.
Brady
We could put that in the episode. Notes in the episode Description.
Katie Nolan
Okay, we'll put the. We'll put whatever the video is in the. In the notes so that you could watch it too, if that's something that interests you. But here's Isabella watching Orange Cassidy for the first time.
Brady
And for anybody who's way ahead of the curve, this is Orange Cassidy against pack from AEW Revolution.
Isabella
Oh, so then what does he do?
Orange Cassidy
That didn't have to last long. The.
Isabella
His hands are still in his pocket.
Orange Cassidy
To the king of Sloth style. Pack goes for the trip. Cassidy ducks under. The leapfrog attempt. Cassidy. Oh, her first the hip toss. Now Cazadora rolls through. Crisscross the legs.
Isabella
Oh, his hands came out of his pockets, though. Gonna have to deduct a point for that.
Katie Nolan
What the hell have I gotten myself into? Amazing.
Isabella
Yeah, I love this guy.
Katie Nolan
It's amazing. It. I think, like, we get into this in our interview with him, but I think that, like, the. Something about. Because when you're watching grown men in these costumes, at some point, there are these moments where you kind of look at the person who's super into this that you're trying to get into this for, and you go, like, I mean, it's a little silly, right? But you're afraid to say it's silly. You don't want to say, like, the thing that Dan is obsessed with is silly, but you go, like, is anyone gonna acknowledge that it's silly? And then when Orange Cassidy comes out with his hands in his pockets and he's doing his little kicks and the audience is fully in on it, they totally sell that. Like, whoa. It makes you go like, oh, it is silly. And we all know it's silly, and it's actually okay that it's silly. Yeah.
Isabella
I feel like accepting that is, like, makes it more fun in the actual experience of doing it.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. So I feel like he's a great gateway because it doesn't ask you to, like, you don't have to know too much about him. You get his vibe right away. You understand what he's going for. And then, like you said, when it does come time to actually wrestle, you're like, okay, he's actually wrestling. He's actually wrestling.
Isabella
Yeah. I was expecting him to. With his hands in his pockets, like, go. Go up with his legs and, like, flip.
Katie Nolan
I know, it's wild. There was a time, I think, Brady, I don't know. I assume you have a encyclopedic knowledge of anything that's ever happened in sports, but I think there was a time he, like, jumped off with his hands in his pockets, stood on the ropes and jumped off out of the ring and like hit a guy.
Brady
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Katie Nolan
And I remember being like, that's crazy. How are you not? Because if something goes wrong and your hands are in your pockets, you can't like shield your. But he's just a really good wrestler and it's, it's a fantastic. And what is the correct word for what it is? Because saying gimmick to his face felt like an insult. But it's not Gimmick.
Brady
Character.
Orange Cassidy
Style.
Katie Nolan
Character.
Brady
They call his style Sloth Style.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I'm sloth style. Just in general. It's kind of my vibe. Sloth.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah.
Brady
It's the right word.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it's. It's great. It's great if you're looking for an entry point to wrestling and. And I just think he's a great. It was awesome to meet him. I was a funny story supposed to interview him. He was the first thing that got canceled when as Covid started to happen at espn. I was supposed to have Orange Cassidy on the show. I was so excited. We were all this stuff planned and then that was like, hey, we're canceling that because we think this might be a pandemic. And I was like, what? Stupid. That's not true. And then it never. And then I never stepped foot back in that building again. Little did I know. So it's been a long time coming. It was nice to finally sit down with him. AEW Dynamite on is on Wednesday nights on TBS and AEW Collision is on Saturday nights on tnt. They both also stream on HBO Max. And Wrestle Dream is live from St. Louis this Saturday. That's a pay per view event, right, Brady?
Brady
Yes.
Katie Nolan
Wrestle Dream. It's Saturday at 7 Eastern on HBO Max and you can get it on pay per View. So that's where you can find Orange Cassidy. It's spelled just like you think if you want to google him and look it up. But he came by last week. We got to chat with him for a little bit about a whole wide range of topics. Let's take a quick break and when we come back, it'll be our interview with Orange Cassidy. I am so excited to be wearing fall clothes again. Mission control do you copy? 911 all new Thursdays 87 Central on ABC and stream on Hulu. Orange Cassidy is our guest today. Thank you for being here. Orange first name Cassidy last name correct?
Orange Cassidy
Yes.
Katie Nolan
Great.
Orange Cassidy
I just had to think about. Yeah yes. That's it.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Mr. Cassidy, I always get stressed out when I have to interview a wrestler because I never know if I'm allowed to talk about it. Like, if I have to maintain kayfabe with you.
Orange Cassidy
I mean, I don't. You ask me whatever you want. Do you live your life? You do how you want to do it. Because that's what I do.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Orange Cassidy
And people are like, oh, you know, you never break character. You're never like, there's nothing to break. This is who I am. I really like your mid century modern motif here with the furniture.
Katie Nolan
Thank you. Yeah, we googled mid century motif furniture and clicked the first few links.
Orange Cassidy
What is this? West Elm? Where'd you get this from?
Katie Nolan
Probably that might actually be out of our budget. This was probably Wayfair. They have just what we need. First of all, I like your shirt.
Orange Cassidy
I really like your shirt, too.
Katie Nolan
Thank you. This is truly my favorite shirt. And so much so that somewhere on here is a stain from where I cut my puppy's toenails for the first time. She's five now, but she was a baby, and I would, you know, if you cut them too close.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
They, like, bleed like crazy.
Orange Cassidy
That's always scary to cut your pet's nails because, you know, you see those infomercials where they show, like, the exaggerated. Like you cut, and then it's like the nerve. And then it's like, like spurting blood and you're like, well, I don't want to do that.
Katie Nolan
And that's. I'll tell you exactly how it happens. It's really scary. And I don't think I've cut her nails since I was like, please, somebody help. And it was all over also. Second thing I said was, no, my favorite shirt. But now I still wear it.
Orange Cassidy
And I, you know, I like that. I know you wear it because they're designed so that they're really, really soft, and then they will fade as you wash them. Because that's what all good clothes do. And I know if you're really a fan or not, if your shirt's, like, dirty and has stains on it.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. So I'm a true fan. That's what it.
Orange Cassidy
They told me six years ago that white shirts don't sell.
Katie Nolan
They did. They being the man.
Orange Cassidy
Aw. And pro wrestling tees. When I was first making my. They were like, we gotta get a shirt for you. And I was like, okay, I want this. And they're like, well, it's white. No one buys white shirts.
Katie Nolan
I would think the opposite.
Orange Cassidy
So you gotta think wrestling fans are kind of like. Kind of like they're. I mean, the wrestling fans are incredible. Different than anybody any other fan group.
Katie Nolan
True.
Orange Cassidy
But they're like Rocky rock fan, you know, like rock T shirts, band T shirts. They're like black.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
And they have like, black is like.
Katie Nolan
Black is their white.
Orange Cassidy
Yes. Because it's like black goes with everything and stuff. And I was like, well, I am not like anything else. I was like, I want white. And I've been selling this shirt for six years and I haven't stopped. Ooh, should I do an exclusive for your show?
Katie Nolan
Yep.
Orange Cassidy
My next shirt is gonna be me wearing. My next shirt is going to be a shirt of me wearing this shirt.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Great.
Orange Cassidy
And then we can.
Katie Nolan
Great. And then it will just keep being all the way into the soul of the person wearing it. Yeah. I love that.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
It's a really good idea.
Orange Cassidy
Would you wear it?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. If it's this soft.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah. I mean, it's gotta be softness of the skin. You gotta have soft style.
Katie Nolan
And it's like soft, but it also. I can wear it out and it doesn't look like. Sometimes you can go too soft with a T shirt, which I would then call a sleep shirt. Are you familiar with this? It's like a shirt that you're like, I like this shirt, but I'm not going. I can't go outside in this. People will go, do you wear that to bed? This is an outside soft shirt. It's like a perfect mix of both shirts. Genre.
Orange Cassidy
I don't want to get too personal.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Orange Cassidy
And please just tell me to stop. You sleep with a shirt on?
Katie Nolan
Oh, yeah, I do.
Orange Cassidy
I don't think. I don't think I've slept with a shirt on in the past 20 years.
Katie Nolan
That's fair. I. I should.
Orange Cassidy
But like, that's just. But that's just. I don't know.
Katie Nolan
No, that's boy stuff. I think. I don't.
Orange Cassidy
I just would just.
Katie Nolan
Do you have anything on the bottom when you sleep?
Orange Cassidy
Yeah. Yeah, but not even sweatpants, though. Because that's like.
Katie Nolan
Me neither.
Orange Cassidy
Because that's like. You get sweaty, right?
Katie Nolan
100%.
Orange Cassidy
Are you a socks sleeper?
Katie Nolan
No, I'm not a psychopath. Don't put your socks even in my bed. I don't want. I can't if you have socks on. I've gotten into a fight with ex boyfriends about that.
Orange Cassidy
Really?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Like, I can't. That's just. Are you this guy? How long have you been this guy? I didn't know you have to legally tell somebody if you put socks on when you go to bed. I can't be a finding out later in life.
Orange Cassidy
Is that your that? Is that an ick for you?
Katie Nolan
Sure, that's your ick, if that helps. Yeah, it's an ick.
Orange Cassidy
Are you. Is your ick also. Where the toilet paper?
Katie Nolan
I don't. It's. I'm not as crazy about it, but I prefer it away. I have a preference, but I.
Orange Cassidy
It's over, right? Over?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. I don't like it. Up against the wall.
Orange Cassidy
I don't understand what that logic is.
Katie Nolan
For up against the wall, right?
Orange Cassidy
What am I doing?
Katie Nolan
Here's what it is. Because it worked on me for a while. It's propaganda. It was a meme where somebody that if it's hanging over like this, a spider could be hiding behind it on the other side of the sheet. And when you go to grab the toilet paper, you'd be grabbing a spider. That sounds like a nightmare scenario, but it has never actually happened since I've switched to flipping.
Orange Cassidy
That is a nightmare scenario. If you live in a spider's nest. Like, who is like. So remember that thing you were told that you. Like, you swallow three spiders a year and you never know when you're sleeping. Like, that's no way.
Katie Nolan
There's no way. If you're tickling my face, I'm waking up.
Orange Cassidy
Where are we? Oh, I would love to tell you a story, but it'll creep you out.
Katie Nolan
Okay. I don't know where to go with that. I think I want to hear it, though.
Orange Cassidy
Okay. I moved to Philadelphia and I moved in with my good friend Chuck Taylor, and we lived in right above Fishtown. For people who are in Philadelphia. Not exactly Fishtown. It was Kensington, technically. And we moved in there and we lived next to a Mexican restaurant. And I was sleeping one night and I heard what sound like a raccoon in the ceiling. I could hear it running around. And then this went on for a couple days. And then all of a sudden one night I woke up and I felt like something was on the bed.
Katie Nolan
Oh, no.
Orange Cassidy
And I looked up.
Katie Nolan
Oh, no.
Orange Cassidy
And the rat that was in my apartment and on my bed was as big as my shoe, and the tail was double that, and it ran across my bed. So I freaked out, obviously. And I'm a little bit of a MacGyver, if you know what I'm talking. If you know what MacGyver. Who MacGyver is. I don't know if people know MacGyver.
Katie Nolan
I think it's still land.
Orange Cassidy
Okay. Sometimes I say stuff and I'm like, oh, boy. I took duct tape and I turned it upside down, so sticky side up. And I. And I just put it on the floor because I was like. And like, in a light, you know, I was like, all right, this will slow it down. Or whatever.
Katie Nolan
Almost like a homemade glue trap.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah. And so then I went to Home Depot, and that's where I discovered that there are mouse traps, but then there's also rat traps.
Katie Nolan
Oh, they're bigger.
Orange Cassidy
That are gigantic. Oh, boy. There's a picture in my cloud or on my phone of I get a text from my good friend and roommate Chuck Taylor, with a picture of the rat dead in the rat trap. Cause you had to put peanut butter on it because cheese just ain't gonna do it. And it is the most horrifying picture because just knowing that thing was around and on me.
Katie Nolan
On your bed?
Orange Cassidy
Yeah. Washed everything.
Katie Nolan
I'd move.
Orange Cassidy
I did.
Katie Nolan
You have to move.
Orange Cassidy
I moved six months later.
Brady
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
I would be out. I saw a house. I had a house. Centipede. Have you ever seen those? They're like giant long legs. Hundreds of them, or whatever it was on my bed, which to me violated the contract of a bug in the house. When there's a bug in the house, you always see them, like on a wall or on the floor. They're very rarely on the comforter of your bed.
Orange Cassidy
Wait, how big is this thing?
Katie Nolan
It's. I mean, it's spindly, so it's like got reach, but it's not like a big. You know what I mean? But it's like a, you know, with all of its legs.
Orange Cassidy
Little daddy long leg situation kinda, but.
Katie Nolan
Like a little creepier. And I was like, that's it. I move. I threw that bed spread away and I moved. I was too scared. I'm like, if that thing feels comfortable enough getting up on my bed, they must be all over the place.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah. Know, that's terrifying. That's like the thing of like. Well, I saw this one.
Katie Nolan
How many are there? Hiding somewhere?
Orange Cassidy
What do we got going?
Katie Nolan
Waiting for me. Well. So, okay, you mentioned you moved to Philly. Are you a Philly fan of like, Philly sports?
Orange Cassidy
I live in Philadelphia.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
There's no other option.
Katie Nolan
Right. So are you okay today? This is not going to come out the day that we're talking, but we are talking on the Friday after the Phillies just got eliminated by a pitcher committing a heinous and terrifying error in the 11th inning. And then also the Eagles losing to The Giants.
Orange Cassidy
So my friends are. They get really worked up about. And if, you know, we don't really know each other, but if you know me, I. I don't really get worked up. I mean, I. I mean, it's like, even this.
Katie Nolan
Not enough to do it to you.
Orange Cassidy
I do enjoy sports.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, sure. It sounds like it.
Orange Cassidy
I enjoy a nice ballpark.
Katie Nolan
Sure.
Orange Cassidy
And Sissons bank park is probably one of the best ones. Let's be honest with everybody around it. Does it have the history? No. Who cares? It's a great park.
Katie Nolan
It's a good park.
Orange Cassidy
You get in, you can get out.
Katie Nolan
Yep. It's true.
Orange Cassidy
Crab fries. What are we talking about?
Katie Nolan
Right?
Orange Cassidy
Come on.
Katie Nolan
Underrated park. And I like the fans. I know that's not a common refrain, but it's even this not enough to knock you off your cool guy stand. You're still feeling fine about all of it. Not panicked at all about those Eagles and what's going on.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
No.
Orange Cassidy
You feel there's a. Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Orange Cassidy
If that ruins my day, what am I doing? You know what I mean?
Katie Nolan
No. Because when the socks lose, it ruins my day. It's just how it goes for people that can't be cool all the time.
Orange Cassidy
I grew up a Red Sox fan.
Brady
Oh.
Orange Cassidy
And a Patriots friend.
Katie Nolan
Okay. When did you make the switch?
Orange Cassidy
No, my gasia para.
Katie Nolan
When did you make the switch?
Orange Cassidy
When I stopped caring damn sick. When I moved to Philly, actually.
Katie Nolan
That's really what it is. You just. Philly makes you not care.
Orange Cassidy
I would have cared. Cause I was into it. I was into. I was into it.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
You know what I'm saying?
Katie Nolan
Like, for when the. When it happened.
Orange Cassidy
When it happened. Six and I was in the heart of New York City when it happened.
Katie Nolan
I feel like I was not.
Orange Cassidy
Not the heart. Ooh, that sounds. I was not. If people. People knew where I was, I was in Newark. Newark, New Jersey.
Katie Nolan
The heart of New York.
Jeff Bridges (character)
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
No, no, no. I was. But I was in that area.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. I was in Long Island. I was so similar.
Orange Cassidy
Okay.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
And I was so the anus of New York City. But let's be real. That's where the real New Yorkers are. They're not actually in, like, those. Those guys. They spit on me. Oh. It was.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
What a time to be alive.
Katie Nolan
What a time to be alive.
Orange Cassidy
And I think. And this is real. I think it ruined a lot of things for me.
Katie Nolan
Huh.
Orange Cassidy
Because.
Katie Nolan
Oh, how good we had it.
Orange Cassidy
It was the most incredible thing that people will talk about forever. Right. The idea that this rivalry Was so long. And that down three games to none, they come back and like, yeah. Were you happy that Game 7 was just a blowout?
Katie Nolan
I was not in the country for that series. It is my biggest regret in life. My brother was studying abroad in Italy. We went abroad, my whole family to visit him. And while we were over there, tried to find the Sox game, the first game of the series. Cause it's hard to do weird times shift or whatever.
Orange Cassidy
Oh, what is the time difference?
Katie Nolan
I don't remember. I could look it up. We went up, we found. It was like late at night. We went and found it at a bar. They lost. We did it two nights in a row in different cities because we were going all over Italy. And then when they got down 3, 0, my dad was like, we're not ruining our trip to Italy. Watching this team lose.
Orange Cassidy
That is very. Oh, I didn't think about it like.
Katie Nolan
That my whole life. And he was like, they're just gonna let us down.
Orange Cassidy
We're not doing it and it will ruin the vacation.
Katie Nolan
And I was like, I wann could still win. I was a child. I was 18 or something. I was like, we could still win.
Orange Cassidy
Where'd you grow up?
Katie Nolan
This could. Framingham, Massachusetts.
Orange Cassidy
You got rid of that?
Katie Nolan
We don't really have it in Framingham. Yeah, you'd think, I guess maybe I've.
Orange Cassidy
Wrestled in Framingham a few times.
Katie Nolan
It's really where.
Orange Cassidy
I don't remember. I remember going to Framingham to wrestle.
Katie Nolan
We have two exits off the Mass pike, so that makes sense. We've got a lot going on. We're a bustling city now. We were a town when I was there, but they're a city anyway. We just. We never. So I didn't get to see the comeback. I just would check the results in the morning. And I remember going, dad, they won. And he was like, it's one game. I was like, they could keep winning. And then the next day I was like, dad, they won again.
Orange Cassidy
Are you like me? And that at that time, you're like, well, we can't watch because we watch, then we'll jinx it.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. So at that point it was like, well, we got it now I guess we just. I guess now I just have to.
Orange Cassidy
We just have to enjoy beautiful Italy.
Katie Nolan
And it sucked. Oh, fuck that place. But also I could.
Orange Cassidy
Did you like it?
Katie Nolan
I know, I loved it. It was great. It was beautiful. But it happened at a bad time. My socks were making a run and I had just gotten my first, like, boyfriend. I was so excited I had a boyfriend, and then I had to go on this trip where I couldn't, like, contact him. I was just wanting to go home.
Orange Cassidy
Wait a second. How old are you?
Katie Nolan
I was either 16 or 18. It was senior year, I think, so.
Orange Cassidy
So you're 17.
Katie Nolan
Whatever. It split the debt. And I was so excited to.
Orange Cassidy
I had a boyfriend, and I wanted it.
Katie Nolan
I wanted to watch the socks with my boyfriend. I was the pitcher of the softball team. He was the pitcher on the baseball team. We should have been sitting.
Orange Cassidy
Classic sports power couple.
Katie Nolan
So cute.
Orange Cassidy
Did you guys run that school?
Katie Nolan
No, we did not.
Orange Cassidy
Did you guys run Framingham High?
Katie Nolan
No, we did not. And that is the name of the school. Where did you grow up?
Orange Cassidy
Everywhere. I grew up. My grandparents lived in Taunton. Oh, good area.
Katie Nolan
Great. I know of every town in Massachusetts. Couldn't tell you where any of them.
Orange Cassidy
Are, but you know what time, you know.
Katie Nolan
Sure. I just don't know where it is.
Orange Cassidy
Worcester. You know, Worcester, of course.
Katie Nolan
That's where we used to go to clubs when we were only 18.
Orange Cassidy
That's what.
Katie Nolan
Or 16.
Orange Cassidy
So I only lived in Massachusetts for a little. A couple, like, three years. And then I moved to Long island and then Jersey and then all that. I'm an east coast.
Katie Nolan
Very similar path.
Orange Cassidy
Very east coast.
Katie Nolan
Same thing as. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Orange Cassidy
And people say, you go to Worcester for the clubs, kid. And I'm like, what?
Katie Nolan
The underage clubs. It was like, 18 to get in, 21 to drink. But once you got in, you're like, I'm here. Hey, lights are down low.
Orange Cassidy
You're drinking.
Katie Nolan
I can get one of those.
Orange Cassidy
I know where I can get a Sharpie and write an X on my hand.
Isabella
Right.
Katie Nolan
Or also just like, as a girl, you're like, well, I wasn't gonna go up and get the drink anyway, so this is not. It actually removes a middleman for me. Me wrestling. I want to talk to you about wrestling.
Jeff Bridges (character)
We are a.
Katie Nolan
A podcast for casual fans. I think a casual fan is more likely to have heard of WWE than AEW 100%. But I also think that you are a really, really good. See, this is where I get tripped up. I don't want to call anything you're doing a gimmick.
Orange Cassidy
Just say what you say. Just you say what you got to say.
Katie Nolan
You got me super into aw. My fiance is a. A huge wrestling fan. Has always loved wrestling. I'm. I like it because I like taking interest in the stuff that he likes. And when he about aw. I'm like, another wrestling. I can't do this. And he goes, watch this guy. Watch this guy. Orange Cassie. I think you might really like him. And he was like, he's, he's. His thing is he doesn't care and he doesn't try. But he's actually a very skilled wrestler, so it's like he's respected. And also being disrespectful. It's funny and it works. And he was absolutely right. I became a huge fan the first time I watched you wrestle.
Orange Cassidy
That is a very similar story that I hear all of the time.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
And I take the most pride in that because to me, I've. You watch it now, right?
Isabella
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
When you.
Katie Nolan
I mean, not every day. Don't quit.
Orange Cassidy
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. But you watch it.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
Like you consider yourself a fan of it. When I go to.
Katie Nolan
Or the merch.
Orange Cassidy
Right. Amen. There's like, I do meet and greets and stuff a lot. Like, you know, I talk to fans and it's so great, great to actually like, meet the people that actually like you. And not just you go on the Internet and read about all the people that hate you, but like, you know, actually talk to the people there. And I get a lot of, you know, they, they walk up to me and they're like, there's like, you know, another person there which is like, you know, either like an older person or, or a significant other, whatever it is. And they're like, oh, yeah, because of you. My parents come with me now because they get. They want to see you. And it's like, I got my girlfriend, my boyfriend to watch wrestling and come with me to wrestling shows because of you. I show them clips of you and it's like, that makes them want to come. And like this one time this father came up to me and he was like, yeah, I could never bond with, with my little girls. And it's like. And I love wrestling and they don't. They hate wrestling. And. But then you came on the screen and now. And then I looked behind him and there was three little girls dressed up like me. And I was like. And then he was like, you know, I just don't want to, you know, it's not, I don't, I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable. I'm like, I. I was like, you need to tell me that. Yeah, you have to tell me this because then what am I doing? Like, what, what is, what is this existence like, if I can't do something like that, then what are we doing? You know what I mean? So it. That is. I. On purpose. Like, this is what I want to do. Like I want to be relatable. The idea that someone's gonna flip through the screen like so no one flips through channels anymore.
Katie Nolan
But I do. I do.
Orange Cassidy
You flip through channels?
Katie Nolan
I have cable sometimes. I don't wanna pick what I wanna watch. I want somebody to feed me.
Chris
You have.
Orange Cassidy
Have cable?
Katie Nolan
Yeah, dude, I do. Whatever.
Orange Cassidy
You have cable television.
Katie Nolan
I do. I can't cut the cord.
Orange Cassidy
I think you're the first person I've ever. Seriously. You might be the only person I. I know.
Katie Nolan
I know.
Orange Cassidy
Except for my like, parents.
Katie Nolan
Anyway, you're flipping the channels. You're the one.
Orange Cassidy
Whatever. Whatever. Yeah, well, come on. I just, I just said MacGyver earlier. It's like. And I don't want to. Whatever. It's like two men basically in underwear who are jacked.
Katie Nolan
Not basically, that's not in underpants.
Orange Cassidy
Trying to be respectful. Two men in their underpants, oiled up.
Katie Nolan
Yes.
Orange Cassidy
Not even hugging, like just slapping each other in the chest.
Katie Nolan
So funny. Like.
Orange Cassidy
From an outside perspective, like that doesn't make any sense. Like, what is this? Why do you like this? I wear jeans, I wear a jean jacket, I wear sunglasses. I only try when I have to and I only do what I have to when I have to. It's digestible. It's relatable. I think it's relatable. Not relatable. It's probably not the right. But like, you get it. You understand?
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
And that's like, that was the purpose. Like my wrestling has really entertaining characters. Wild characters. Right. That's what I like. Yeah.
Katie Nolan
So you know, it also. It also goes, isn't this also silly? It like does that to a person who's watching it going, but isn't this all really silly? You know, like it. It almost takes out of the room any tension of like. But it's grown men in their underpants slapping each other because of. But it does so without being like, everybody else stinks. At least that's my perspective. I don't know if people, if you've experienced people who like, like bristle within wrestling against your character that are like, you are mocking us. Or if everybody kind of gets it and loves it.
Orange Cassidy
I can understand the argument of that with those people, the people that they. But usually those people haven't actually seen me wrestle.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, true. Cuz once you do, you can't go like, this guy doesn't know what he's doing.
Orange Cassidy
Well. But then they say stuff like, well, whatever they say Stuff that I'm like. Like, you've definitely never seen a match, like, and I. Maybe you. Maybe you don't care to. That's fine. But I don't think this works if I don't wrestle. You know what I mean? I need to know how to wrestle in order for this to work. I think I take wrestling way more seriously than people probably think I do because I love it and I respect it so much, and I want to know as much as I possibly can. And I overanalyze every single little thing. And I think about it literally 24 7, and, like, I want to perfect my craft. This is what I do. Doesn't mean I'm gonna do all of it, because you do what you have to when you have to. Like, less is more. Whatever that. That garbage is. It's. I like to be like, I talk to a lot of people that aren't wrestling fans. All my friends that I grew up with aren't wrestling fans. It was just me. So I had an outside perspective always when I was watching wrestling. And to me, it's like, I want you just to watch and just be like, yes, okay, have fun. Relax. Just relax. Have fun. It's okay. Enjoy it. You know what I mean? And I don't know how to do that, so, you know, that's. So I try to do that as much as I possibly can.
Katie Nolan
It's great. It's great. It works. And, like, the audience buy in of it also helps a person that's trying to get in go like, oh, I'm in on the joke with them. Like, we go nuts when he does a little thing. Like, it's. I love it. I think it's one of the smartest. And again, I'm not a. I'm no scholar of wrestling, but for the era that we're in and where we're all at with knowing that it isn't. That it is scripted, I don't want to say that it's not real, because, I mean, watching you guys slam your bodies into each other, it's real.
Orange Cassidy
But, like, that's another thing I just like and I hate. Hold on. Hate's not the right word because I don't want to think I'm.
Katie Nolan
You would never care.
Orange Cassidy
I don't like that you have to feel that way, because that's so stupid.
Katie Nolan
What?
Orange Cassidy
Like, you're like, well, I don't want to.
Katie Nolan
Oh. I don't want to say it's not real because you guys, your body is genuinely getting some.
Orange Cassidy
No, no, no. Oh, no. No, no. What I'm basically saying is like, like when that thing was created or whatever, it's just like, I don't know, I just want to move past it. Can we all just. Professional wrestling is professional wrestling. It's unlike anything else.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Orange Cassidy
So just call it professional wrestling. That way you don't have to be like, is it. Ring is gripped? Is it fake? Or it's like, no, no, it's a show. It's pro wrestling.
Katie Nolan
It's pro wrestling.
Orange Cassidy
It's just pro wrestling. Like, get over it. And that way you could just have an. Then you could just be like, I'm not afraid to say, I just want to talk to you about it. Great.
Katie Nolan
Right?
Orange Cassidy
And we can talk about it.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Orange Cassidy
Instead of being like, oh, shoot, a. Because of all that dumb stuff in the 80s and the 90s, like, grow up. It's 2025.
Katie Nolan
Given that where we are in wrestling as a. I just feel like your. This Persona. I don't know. I don't wanna. Is. Is brilliant because it sort of is like it. It takes all of the. Again, the tension out of any of it. And it goes like. It's silly. And it's also. Watch me do in a really cool way.
Orange Cassidy
I just think it's somebody. Somebody said to me, like, they go to watch parties. Wrestling watch parties. And somebody said online, they were like, Orange Cassidy is your friend's friend that they brought to your party and didn't know what it was. Favorite wrestler. And it sums it up very, very well. It's also very like, that's the goal. The goal is for you to become a wrestling fan.
Katie Nolan
You're a gateway drug.
Orange Cassidy
Oh, yeah.
Katie Nolan
You get people in. You sucker us in with a little taste.
Orange Cassidy
What was your. What was your.
Brady
Was your.
Orange Cassidy
Was Your first drug 1 the egg or was it the. I'm not a chicken, you're a turkey.
Katie Nolan
It was the egg. Yeah, yeah. This is your brain on drugs.
Orange Cassidy
Remember the one that they melted into the couch?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Remember the one with the guys at the drive through that were high? I think this was a later one. And they like.
Orange Cassidy
You hear the like, yeah, yeah, yeah. They had a kid on a bike.
Katie Nolan
Yes. And like, what's that kid with a bike doing at the drive through? That's what we should be talking about.
Orange Cassidy
Also, nobody high drives fast.
Katie Nolan
Right. It would just be inching into this.
Orange Cassidy
You think they're gonna be like. They're gonna be like, oh, let's. Oh, I'm so high. Hit the brakes, bro. Like, no, I mean hit the. Hit the brakes. Hit the gas, bro. Like, no.
Katie Nolan
All right. I mean, I asked you the things I needed to know. Oh, wait, no. You just took a pile drive. Like a pretty tough pile driver. Correct.
Orange Cassidy
A pile driver on the stairs? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Katie Nolan
Ow.
Orange Cassidy
It was a tombstone.
Katie Nolan
What's that?
Orange Cassidy
So pile driver is probably the classic thing. You know what a pile driver of, like, somebody picking somebody up upside down and sitting.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Orange Cassidy
A tombstone is. They're facing the other way. So they're kind of like 69 position.
Katie Nolan
It's really. I just.
Orange Cassidy
Hey, everybody. Hey. Everybody knows what I'm talking about.
Katie Nolan
It is what it is.
Orange Cassidy
You know what I'm talking about. Standing 69. And then the person sits on their knees so your head gets driven into the mat.
Katie Nolan
So this brings up for me, how are you dealing with the amount of time you have to spend with your face really close to. To that area of another grown man in underpants?
Orange Cassidy
Gotta get over it.
Katie Nolan
You just deal with it.
Orange Cassidy
And. And let me tell you something about that. There are some stinky people out there. And I. Early in my wrestling career, somebody had stinky gear. And I remember this gold vet guy, whatever he. And he got so mad at, and I didn't really, like, understand at that time where his beef was coming, like, so angry, like, kicked him out of the locker room, threw his stuff, and it's because he stunk. And now I get it. I don't need that in my nose. Like, just wash yourself.
Katie Nolan
It's disrespectful.
Orange Cassidy
Like, people think we shave stuff because it's like. I trim because it's like, my head. Someone's head's gonna go here. I don't wanna.
Katie Nolan
Oh, you fully shave your armpits.
Orange Cassidy
It's not fully shaved.
Katie Nolan
You fully shave your armpits.
Orange Cassidy
I said no. I can show you. I like how I said no. And you're like, no. You fully shaved. Is this how you get. Is this. Is this a gotcha interview? Did you. Oh, damn, you got me. I shaved my armpits.
Katie Nolan
Look, I think you. I think everybody should be shaving their armpits. You know what I mean? It's not a. Who cares? It's.
Orange Cassidy
It's whatever to me. Whatever you want to do. I don't care. It's just. But it's just, like, you don't. It takes away some stank.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, because that would be.
Orange Cassidy
I don't know.
Katie Nolan
I'm not a scientist, but if I just had to. There's just so many times where I'll just, you know, walk in on my fiance Watching wrestling. And I'm like, that's for an extended period of time while they get ready to jump off the ropes. It's like his face is buried in his lap.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Wild. But you guys, it's. I mean, so professional. You just. Do you never giggle? I never see you guys giggling about your faces being in each.
Orange Cassidy
That's the secret. I'm giggling on the inside. Always.
Katie Nolan
That's what you got to do as a wrestler is learn to.
Orange Cassidy
Can you imagine that? That was the actual secret.
Katie Nolan
Giggle on the inside.
Orange Cassidy
Gotta giggle on the inside. Are you a fan of magic?
Katie Nolan
Sure, I guess so.
Orange Cassidy
This is interesting.
Katie Nolan
Are you gonna do magic?
Orange Cassidy
No.
Katie Nolan
Oh, I got excited.
Orange Cassidy
See, you are a fan of magic.
Katie Nolan
I guess. We just found.
Orange Cassidy
Apparently I saw something that said, like, close up, magic is like the thing now. And, like, I think people. I'm going to say people, but I think it's like girls in there between 16 and 20s, 20s area, are hiring magicians for their parties. What? Because it's like the newest thing and the amount of females that I've talked, that I've talked to, that I talked to recently say that, like, they love magic. Magic is like the coolest thing ever. And to me, I can't get into it. I can't get on board.
Katie Nolan
That is such a reversal, right. Of the perception of magician.
Orange Cassidy
Growing up.
Katie Nolan
Growing up, every magician who has approached me in a social situation to do magic for me, I can't make eye contact. I'm so uncomfortable.
Orange Cassidy
I wish I could remember the person that came up to me in la. He was incredible. He did some incredible stuff.
Katie Nolan
Sometimes it's cool once it's over, but it's the doing of it. You don't know if they're a good magician till they do it.
Orange Cassidy
Can we make a new show just like talking trash about magic, talking.
Katie Nolan
And then they'll put a spell on us and then we'll never have success again.
Orange Cassidy
Maybe we should trade more things. I don't think that's how magic works.
Katie Nolan
I don't know how it works. That's the whole thing.
Orange Cassidy
I don't know how it work. I was just curious about that because, like, not me.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, no, I'll. I can. I'll. Put your feet on the ground and maintain that. No, magicians aren't.
Orange Cassidy
I can do one card trick, but I think I've. Yeah, I. Yeah. Like, you can't trust a magician. No, you can't.
Katie Nolan
No.
Orange Cassidy
And you. If you. You can't trust a magician. If there's one thing anybody takes away from this, that, this conversation.
Katie Nolan
Trust.
Orange Cassidy
And it's not even a definite fact. It's. I'm just saying I don't think you can trust him.
Katie Nolan
I'm not saying don't do it. I'll say it as a fact. I'm comfortable saying don't trust. They could steal your wallet and go, it was a trick. It's actually over here. But it's like. Well, I'd like it to stay where it was.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah. Where are your hands?
Katie Nolan
Right?
Orange Cassidy
Show me your hands at all times. Show me. Did you ever date a magician?
Katie Nolan
No.
Orange Cassidy
What?
Katie Nolan
No.
Orange Cassidy
That'd have been awesome.
Katie Nolan
No DJs, no magicians. That's the.
Orange Cassidy
I like that. What's the top three? No dj, no magicians.
Katie Nolan
I mean, no athlete for me once I reach a certain. But it's Cause I work, work, you know, here. So it wouldn't make sense for me.
Orange Cassidy
Wait, who cares?
Katie Nolan
Because I don't. I don't know, it's just a personal thing to cover sports and date an athlete. I don't know. I would feel weird doing.
Orange Cassidy
Because you have, you have a very good moral compass.
Katie Nolan
I don't know, I don't even think so.
Orange Cassidy
Or you just don't want to deal with it.
Katie Nolan
I think I don't want to deal with it. I don't think. I don't want things to get messy, shitting where you eat type of a deal.
Orange Cassidy
You know it.
Katie Nolan
And then the fourth would be no dating. I mean, it's like, I'm sure I could find one to love and I bet it would be very rewarding to be loved by them. But musicians.
Orange Cassidy
That never ends well.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
Statistically, I think if you, if you really.
Katie Nolan
If you did the numbers, if you.
Orange Cassidy
Went, if you, if you reviewed the sheets, the numbers really went into it.
Katie Nolan
More times than not.
Orange Cassidy
I'm going to. I'm going to say it doesn't end well.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
Most of the time.
Katie Nolan
A lot of feelings, I think I feel like.
Orange Cassidy
And it's a lot of feelings.
Katie Nolan
I feel like they've got a lot of feelings. And they're not, they're.
Orange Cassidy
Somebody could write a whole album about you and it could be the number one selling album of all time.
Katie Nolan
And everyone's like, my favorite song is that song about how you broke and then you're.
Orange Cassidy
You're like, oh, that was me. I mean, that was. I was the person.
Katie Nolan
Stand up comedian is a little bit like that. That's who I'm marrying. A stand up comedian in.
Orange Cassidy
Oh, you.
Katie Nolan
It's a.
Orange Cassidy
You are in trouble.
Katie Nolan
One of his biggest and best jokes currently is about the time that he watched an adult film while I was in the shower and his phone connected to my Bluetooth speaker.
Orange Cassidy
And it.
Katie Nolan
The sounds.
Orange Cassidy
Let me ask you a question. That really happened.
Katie Nolan
Yes. And I had to watch him tell the joke. And it's a great joke and it kills, but every time people will go like, is this true? Yeah, it's true.
Orange Cassidy
You didn't.
Isabella
It's true.
Orange Cassidy
So that's the thing. Oh, he was probably like, you're cool. Yeah, you're doing. But like, people would take offense to that. Right?
Jeff Bridges (character)
You.
Orange Cassidy
You. So I'm saying in real life.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
I'm saying in the situation.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Yes.
Orange Cassidy
Not as a comedic joke, but you're like, oh, my boyfriend was watching porn while I was taking a shower. Like, that's like. Like you'd be like, insulted, I guess.
Katie Nolan
A little. Yeah, yeah, yeah. A little insulted. A little. Like, also, how could you be so stupid? I obviously. How did you not realize your phone was connected to my Bluetooth also? I was getting ready for work. I had work. It was during the pandemic. I had work in like five minutes. I had to go be on TV on a zoom. And I came out. Exactly. And I came out of the shower and he was like, I opened up an email and I was like, we can talk about this after. I have to clean on camera.
Orange Cassidy
I opened up an email. What email connects to your Bluetooth? That is sweet.
Katie Nolan
King.
Orange Cassidy
Maybe. Maybe a top fear of all time. Probably.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
Is now kids growing up. Because I don't. I didn't. I couldn't connect to anything.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Orange Cassidy
I didn't have a. I didn't have a thing on in. I didn't. I didn't.
Katie Nolan
Your porn had buffering.
Orange Cassidy
It had to buffering.
Katie Nolan
There was no way it was gonna make its way to your parents.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah, we had. We had. Had Good Housekeeping and JCPenney and. And MTV. Whatever. I don't know.
Katie Nolan
Jerking it to a Good Housekeeping. I don't know.
Orange Cassidy
Times are tough.
Katie Nolan
I love mid century modern.
Orange Cassidy
You really do.
Katie Nolan
I can't get enough.
Orange Cassidy
What is this? Birch?
Katie Nolan
Probably orange. Cassidy, thank you so much for being here. This is very.
Orange Cassidy
I don't think we talked about anything.
Katie Nolan
I don't think we did either, but. Aw. Dynamites on Wednesdays still.
Orange Cassidy
So. Aw. Dynamite Wednesdays on tbs, but also HBO Max simulcast. So you can go if you have HBO Max. Not just Max anymore. HBO Max. We're all very happy.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, great.
Orange Cassidy
We're all happy for it because I love It.
Katie Nolan
You made a mistake and then you went back. You gotta go back.
Orange Cassidy
This is the thing that I feel like we have a problem with in our world right now is people do not admit when they're wrong.
Katie Nolan
100%.
Orange Cassidy
It is okay to be wrong. It is okay to say something, be very, very passionate about it. And it's wrong. But just say it. Say like, you know what? I was wrong. And then let's just move on.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
People can't do that.
Katie Nolan
Max is HBO Max.
Orange Cassidy
HBO Max.
Katie Nolan
And that's a good step in the right direction.
Orange Cassidy
That's right. So I love the company I work for. And you can watch that. Then also on Saturdays we have Collision, which is another show at 8 o'.
Katie Nolan
Clock.
Orange Cassidy
And you can watch that on HBO Max as well. And that's on TNT and we have a pay per view coming up.
Katie Nolan
When's that?
Orange Cassidy
That's a big dog one. That's. It's called Wrestle. It's Wrestle Dream. And it's in a week. It's in a week.
Katie Nolan
Thumbs up. But a full thumb.
Orange Cassidy
A full thumb. He. He doesn't.
Katie Nolan
He has to try.
Brady
He.
Katie Nolan
So that you can't.
Orange Cassidy
Correct. Because then I wouldn't show up anywhere.
Katie Nolan
Exactly.
Orange Cassidy
We're talking about Adam. He's off camera.
Katie Nolan
He's handler.
Orange Cassidy
He's not my. Can you imagine? Oh my God, Adam. You're not my handler. You're. You're the man. I. You could watch us there and then you could also, you know. You know what else you could do?
Katie Nolan
What?
Orange Cassidy
Just Google aew All Elite wrestling. Yeah, it'll tell you everything.
Katie Nolan
I think Google still technically works, right? Yeah, yeah, just Google it. Or Google Orange Cassidy.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah, Orange Cassidy.
Katie Nolan
Or Google Orange Cassidy white T shirt. And then buy one. Because I'm telling you, it's so soft.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah, go to. Yeah, it is. It's. It's also Halloween's coming up.
Katie Nolan
That's right.
Orange Cassidy
And I love, like people. Can't send me enough of them dressing up for me as Halloween. And I'm so proud to be. I gotta be in the running of all time. Last minute Halloween costume.
Katie Nolan
100%.
Orange Cassidy
Cause if you. If you don't even need. I would like you to have this shirt, obviously, but you could just Magic marker your.
Katie Nolan
Or just wear a white shirt.
Orange Cassidy
Right? You really could just. And then sunglasses and you could say, oh, no, I'm Orange Cassidy. And when people are like, I don't know who really, then you could pull up a thing. No, these are real. This is a thing. So I take a lot of pride for someone that last minute Halloween costumes all the time.
Katie Nolan
We need people like you because we can't all just go out there and be, you know, Tom Cruise in Cocktail. I'm trying to think of all the last minute costumes that I've been that.
Orange Cassidy
First of all, all references are really current. We're timely current.
Katie Nolan
And.
Orange Cassidy
How are you Tom Cruise from costume?
Katie Nolan
Isn't that when he comes out in the. In the shirt but no pants slides.
Orange Cassidy
Wasn't that risky business?
Katie Nolan
That's what I meant.
Orange Cassidy
I was like Tom Cruise Cocktail.
Katie Nolan
I never saw.
Orange Cassidy
Were you just constantly like.
Katie Nolan
I was just bartending, shaking, you know, that last minute costume.
Orange Cassidy
You know what I think? Whenever I think of that, I think of bar rescue. You watch that show.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Orange Cassidy
Where they just like, they always like. And you got to smile, look at the camera.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Did you ever work at a bar? We don't have time for this. That's it. This is orange Cassidy.
Orange Cassidy
Yep. Sorry.
Katie Nolan
Watch him wrestle. It's good. Good.
Orange Cassidy
Yeah. Have a good time.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Have a good.

Katie Nolan
All right. Wow. Amazing. Big thanks to Orange Cassidy for coming by. What a great guy. I. I get so anxious when you're interviewing someone who has a character because you're like, and now am I supposed to interview you as the character or are you the guy who plays the character? And the only reason this ever got confusing is because of Mike the Miz, when he went and did Sports Nation and I had to go do Sports Nation on my first day at espn. First day, not my show. And I walk on and he starts calling me sweetheart and honey and being sexist to me, and I'm like, hey, I get that. That's a bit for you. We're not at your job. We're at my job on my first day, and you're being a prick to me. And am I supposed to just go, tee hee hee, that's the Miz. Because you're Mike right now.
Orange Cassidy
Now.
Katie Nolan
And so I only ever call him Mike.
Brady
I think it got slightly confusing when MJF from AEW came in to do the Happy Gilmore Press tour, and it was like, no, I'm not going to be in character. And then it ended up being the same exact big, brash New Yorker character.
Katie Nolan
It was funny because it was funny in the comments. People were like, I've never seen him break character. And I was like, oh, well, I was interviewing four guys at once. So I wasn't really thinking intricately about any of them. I was sort of just tossing things out to the group. But thank you to Orange Cassie. Very cool. Really nice to meet him. And he let me put on, you guys saw that he unsheathed a brand new pair of his own sunglasses so that we could film that clip that we put on Social of me absolutely Kicking his ass, if we're being honest. I, like, just. He was bloodied. He was.
Chris
Don't know how you didn't get taken to jail after that.
Katie Nolan
I can't believe they, like. I can't believe they let you guys post it. That's, like, really bad. But, yeah, whatever. We'll take it. We'll take it.
Isabella
I just realized that if I were to have a character.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my.
Isabella
Yes. Mine would be. I'm just, like, perpetually scared. Like, in the ring, I'd be like, stop.
Katie Nolan
Get away from me. Great. Just running. Just, like, holding your. Like, I'd be like, ow.
Isabella
And then, like, when I slightly touch them, they, like, completely just fly outside of the ring, like.
Katie Nolan
Fantastic. So we, I assume, have a document somewhere of all the things we're gonna make Isabella try in sports. Let's put. Developing a pro wrestling Persona for Isabella. I'd watch that.
Brady
This has already been offered. There was a. There was an indie wrestler from the Midwest who wanted to offer Isabella a tryout for their federation in Ohio or whatnot. It's a bit out there.
Katie Nolan
We can turn this into something. If we were a TV show, that's a segment, and we'd be working on it. But we are just an audio medium, so we don't have to. But I think we should. I think that's a good. That's a good. I've been to some indie wrestling events. My friend Liz, when I was a bartender, she was a bartender too. Liz Havoc. Shout Out. She was trying to start a wrestling. And I went to. I mean, they. Wrestling. People who are into wrestling are like, die hard. They show up, they're supportive, they get involved. It was fun. It was great. Okay. But right now, the thing that Isabelle is dipping her toe into is fantasy football. We are through six weeks of the season, and this week got a little precarious because I saw, you know, Puka is your big star, Isabella. And I saw that there was some danger in the area, so I thought it's possible that you lost. Did you lose this week?
Isabella
I did not.
Katie Nolan
Hi, Katie. I won?
Brady
How?
Isabella
I don't know. The fantasy gods are just on my side.
Chris
I mean, clearly.
Katie Nolan
I'm shocked. I was.
Isabella
I actually really did think I was.
Nikki
Gonna lose this week.
Isabella
I was like, oh, my God. This is when we changed the. The name. The team name to Puka Full of Sunshine.
Katie Nolan
So you're preparing to blame me.
Isabella
And so then I was like, no, me. I was like, I caused his injury, but then I ended up winning still, so.
Katie Nolan
And what's the update on that injury.
Brady
Day to day ankle sprain. It looked bad. I sent the text out, like, in the second quarter on Sunday. I was like, puka's down. It's bad.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady
But then he was up and jogging around on the sideline. He tried to come back in. They didn't let him come back in.
Katie Nolan
But, yeah.
Brady
Yeah, day to day. He might play this weekend. Probably not, because they have a buy the next week.
Katie Nolan
Oh, yeah. So I would think you just give him.
Orange Cassidy
They're going.
Brady
They're going to the.
Katie Nolan
Two weeks of rest.
Brady
Yeah. They're going to the international game. The Rams play the Jag.
Katie Nolan
Oh, yeah. Don't fly to London.
Brady
The Rams played the Jacksonville football team. I'm not walking into that bear trap. They played the Jacksonville football team.
Katie Nolan
Say it and say it properly.
Brady
Well, in London, they're playing the Jaguars.
Katie Nolan
The Jaguars.
Isabella
Oh, that's how they say it.
Katie Nolan
They're traveling to London to play the Jaguars. But here we say Jaguars.
Brady
Mm.
Isabella
So when is he gonna get better?
Katie Nolan
Probably after that. It's a sprain. In terms of football, in terms of real life, a sprain would have me sidelined for weeks.
Isabella
Yeah, like, I'm not coming in.
Katie Nolan
But in terms of football, a sprain is like, oh, thank God. It's just a sprain.
Isabella
Oh. It's not like a toe.
Katie Nolan
They're like. It's not like it's broken. It's not like a. A. It's not a high ankle sprain, which is a. A longer time to get come back from. It's not a knee. It's not a. It's just an ankle sprain, which basically just means it's just pain. And we expect them to deal with that all the time. So he can. He'll. He'll be back. I would assume they don't have him play in London just because of the travel, and then they just have him come back after the box. So I guess maybe something you should consider in terms of benching him. The game is on Sunday, I assume Sunday morning. Like, early morning.
Brady
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
So you're gonna want to check on Saturday night, Isabella, to see if he's gonna play. And if there's nothing definitive, then you're gonna have to make maybe your first, like, gut call where you just decide. You could also wake up early in the morning and see if he's playing right before the game starts. But I don't want to risk it.
Isabella
I say that I can't. I have to lock in my lineup by, like, 30 Thursday.
Katie Nolan
Well, if they're if the person who's playing is playing on Thursday you have to have them in their slot for when the game starts.
Isabella
Oh it's not like you can. So you can like change up the lineup after Thursday if you wanted to.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. But what you just can't. Like you don't. You're not going to want to start someone whose game was on Thursday because it won't count because you would have had to. They have to be starting at the time their game starts in order for their points to count. So.
Chris
And as soon as you have them in the lineup or out of the lineup by the time the game starts they are locked into to.
Katie Nolan
To that spot position. So like if you have them on the bench and their game starts you're not going to be able to move them cuz they had a good game. It's like you can't.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
You can only decide once. They haven't played yet. So you could put. You could make this call in the morning and it's going to be early cuz it's the London game so it's going to be at 9 I assume 9:30.
Brady
Not. Yeah, 9 or 9.
Katie Nolan
So you'd have to wake up really early and see if he's playing and then make the decision. Or you can decide the night before and what you're laughing because 9:30 is not early on a weekend. Waking up at 9 to set your fantasy lineup.
Isabella
Oh this is 9 Eastern. Not like 9 in England. And then I have to wa up.
Katie Nolan
At 9am Yeah, 9am here.
Brady
No, sorry. The notion of the game's at 9:30 so you have to wake up really early.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. On a Saturday.
Isabella
I mean. Yeah, Saturday is. I do like to sleep.
Katie Nolan
9Am is wild. I get it. If you've got a kid. She doesn't have a kid so she's got every right to be asleep. Still at 9 in the morning.
Chris
I have two kids and 9:30 still really early.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Thank you. Thank you.
Brady
The weirdo.
Katie Nolan
Maybe. And I'm just happy that for once.
Chris
I like my sleep. Brady and I don't get a lot of it.
Katie Nolan
I also haven't slept in it in eight days. I'm running on fumes. Fumes. But I'm getting it this weekend.
Chris
Impressive.
Katie Nolan
Not waking up for that.
Chris
We appreciate your commitment.
Katie Nolan
Thank you. I'll be skipping that London game. It's not for me. So that's something to look at. Isabella, you might have to sit him if he does play and you've sat him. That's just something that's gonna happen. It's fine. It's not a big deal. Who would you think you would start if you had to start somebody? If you had to move things around round.
Isabella
Who else do I have that's a wide receiver?
Katie Nolan
Because you could move Pickens from your flex into your wide receiver spot and then flex a running back if you wanted to. If you wanted to. Yeah. Yeah. But you don't have to if you have a running back who's projected to go off. You could do that. Or you could just keep. Keep your. Flex a wide receiver and start a different wide receiver that you have. Who does she have for wide receivers?
Brady
Wide receiver? You have Chris Godwin. Godwin for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Who Baker Mayfield has been putting up MVP numbers. They are also playing against the Lions and the Lions best safety Brian Branch will be suspended for that game for punching a dude in the helmet.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, stupid.
Isabella
I know about.
Brady
Instead of going body below just went after that.
Katie Nolan
So it actually might not be a bad idea to start Chris Godwin. And I will say.
Isabella
And he's good.
Katie Nolan
He's good at. Well, now, this is dated information you're going to get from me now. But when I last had Chris Godwin on my fantasy team, he was like a red zone threat. He was always the guy that was.
Chris
Nope, nope. Godwin's not playing.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my God.
Chris
He's out.
Brady
Good update. Good update.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my. What's wrong with him?
Chris
Leg.
Katie Nolan
Leg?
Isabella
Yeah, it says doubtful he has a leg.
Brady
Out with a leg.
Katie Nolan
Well, never mind. Because of his leg, he's got a stanky leg. So I guess instead slap Pickens in.
Brady
There and then your other option would be go with. Well, no, the Broncos are off.
Isabella
Oh.
Nikki
Remember, I still have one of your three quarterbacks.
Isabella
That's what I was just about to say.
Brady
Three quarterbacks not off. Broncos have the Giants so you could play.
Isabella
That's what I was gonna say. I'm gonna drop Gino and get a. And get a wide receiver.
Katie Nolan
Okay. And now. And is this the time where we have to explain to her how the waiver wire works? Cuz she still doesn't know and it cost us last time. But Brady, I'm. I would make you do it because.
Brady
Wednesday the waiver's already passed.
Katie Nolan
Okay. Okay.
Brady
So she can pick up anybody out there right now, just drop Gino.
Isabella
Okay.
Katie Nolan
All right.
Brady
Gino bad. I don't. There's nothing wrong with dropping.
Katie Nolan
Should have no reason to have Gino on your. There's no reason reason.
Isabella
I mean, I had. Yeah, I had him at Some point. When. When. When Caleb was on the bike.
Katie Nolan
Right. Right. Now, here's a question. With Caleb back and you have Daniel Jones famously having a good season. Yeah. What happens now? Are you going to start Caleb again, or are you going to keep Daniel Jones in there?
Brady
Daniel Jones going against the Chargers, a little spicy. Caleb Williams going against the Saints. The Saints allow the spike.
Katie Nolan
Not spicy at all. Caleb Williams. I was gonna go with Caleb Williams. Yeah.
Isabella
I was gonna do Caleb just because I was like, damn, I missed you for a week. And, like, I want you back.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, of course. And I got my nails done this week at Caleb Williams Nail Salon.
Brady
Yeah.
Isabella
Oh, my God. I just booked a nail appointment the first time. Like, sorry, this has nothing to do with.
Katie Nolan
No, this is good. This is good and helpful. I had a. My friend Andrea texted me, and she goes, hey, I. There's a place right across from you where I get my nails done. You want to get your nails done with me this week and then have a standing appointment every month? And I said, you mean be an adult human woman? Oh, that's true. I would love that. So I'm just Get prepared. I'm gonna be a lady who has her nails done all the time. Now I'm excited. Kind of cool.
Isabella
What. What color do you have right now?
Katie Nolan
Right now it's, like a brown. She told me not to worry, too. I was, like, panicked over what color to pick. And she goes, if I've learned anything, it's like, nothing is permanent. Like, just. It's not that big of a deal.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Pick a color and get over it. And then if you don't like it, pick a different color next time. But it just. And so they're, like, brown and shiny. They look like chocolate.
Isabella
Oh, that's cute.
Katie Nolan
Good for fall. Yeah, I'm happy.
Brady
Still rocking four pink nails.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my God. Brady fully does have a manicure. Wait, show them again. Again. That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 nails. Six pink nails.
Brady
Couple purples on there.
Katie Nolan
I'm sorry. You're right, you're right, you're right.
Brady
Four pinks. The Claire's nail polish does not have a long life on my large adult nails.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, but you got to get the gel.
Brady
Does that cost more than $1.99? This is all coming out of my budget a little bit.
Katie Nolan
A little bit. I think it was, like, 40 bucks. And you need a UV light. One of those lights. You put your hands in the. We can get you the kids kit. All right, you're playing. You beat the summer. I got Purdy. Oh, that's Maria. I was going to say Maria. I wanted to think of it. Yes. And she went to the school that. That all of her players went to.
Chris
She drafted, right?
Katie Nolan
Yeah, she drafted. Based off of Iowa State.
Isabella
Oh, that's cool.
Katie Nolan
And then this week you play the Dick Kicks.
Isabella
Who's that?
Orange Cassidy
That.
Isabella
That's a new team.
Nikki
Like.
Isabella
Like a different name.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Isabella
What were they before?
Katie Nolan
4?
Brady
Because dick picks the Dick Kicks is Carrie's team.
Katie Nolan
Okay. Okay.
Brady
I don't know what Carrie's team was before.
Katie Nolan
Well, we'll see. We'll see how that goes. Okay.
Isabella
Oh, also, Brady, can I make one request? Can you change puka full to one word and then drop the one L?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. So it's like it two words.
Isabella
So that it's like. Wait.
Katie Nolan
So because it's like this, like pocket full, you want it to be like pocketful.
Isabella
Yeah, yeah.
Katie Nolan
Instead you have full of sunshine. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I think she want like, the word pocketful would be one word with one L. You know, like a handful. A pocketful. A puka. Thank you.
Brady
Sorry, I'm not up on my bedding field grammar.
Isabella
No, you're fine. I just hadn't made a mental note.
Katie Nolan
I was like, tell Brady.
Isabella
Tell Brady. Tell Brady.
Katie Nolan
Next Thursday, Hunter Henry doing it for you from my pates.
Chris
First place pates.
Katie Nolan
Shout out to the pates, dude.
Chris
How's that?
Katie Nolan
Pates are kind of good.
Chris
Yeah, the pates are kind of good.
Katie Nolan
I'm trying not to get ahead of my myself. Good luck with your fantasy team this week. Not that you need it. Not that you need it, but good luck to everybody else in the league because Isabella, undefeated when. When Puka went down, I got tweets of people being like, well, that's it for Isabella. She had a great run there and nothing's gonna. And then here you are. Yeah, you're still standing.
Isabella
I am sorry, guys.
Katie Nolan
Maybe.
Isabella
Maybe I'll try to, like, lose a.
Katie Nolan
Little bit in the middle of the.
Isabella
Season so you can. Can get you guys.
