You know, summer isn't just for playing sports. It's for the conversations around sports, too. You know, the casual hangouts, whether they're inside in the air conditioning or out on the beach with fellow sports fans. Whatever kind of summer mood you're in, Starbucks has a beverage to match, like the Summer Berry Refresher, the unofficial drink of the summer. It's so good, it's sweet, but not too sweet. It's three berry flavors, and it's everything I never would have thought I wanted, but absolutely do want. It's perfect for sipping while you catch up on last night's scores. No matter what, whether it's that drink or one of their other summer drinks, your summer favorites are ready at Starbucks.

Katie Nolan
Hey, Isabella, did you see that? The women's U16AmeriCup, the United States team, beat Panama in the quarterfinals, 131 to 12.
Isabella
What sport is this?
Katie Nolan
Basketball. Sorry? Basketball. You're absolutely right.
Isabella
I feel like once they hit like, like 40, it's like, can we just end it now? Like, are you really going to humiliate me and make me go all the way to the end?
Katie Nolan
Isabella, if you're the coach of a team that is down 76 to 8 at the half, what does your halftime locker room speech sound like?
Isabella
Guys, this. Let's go to Ch. Let's go to Chili's afterwards.
Katie Nolan
Hello. Hi, and welcome to Casuals, the podcast that legally has to tell you it's a sports podcast, if you ask, but otherwise, we're just like a pop culture podcast.
Brady
They make it some undercover sports podcast.
Katie Nolan
Yes, exactly. That was. That's the joke. Brady.
Brady
Sorry, I thought I was helping.
Katie Nolan
Brady's here, Isabella's here, and I'm here. But we're all remote. Nobody's together. We're fighting. We're not. We've never yet. What else do I usually say here? If you want to email us. Sure. Casualswithkatienolanmail.com Voicemail 646-801-0043 on IG and TikTok, we are CasualsThePodcast. It's the app. It's where I talk just out of my butt about something that's mattering to me. And today it's kind of straightforward, but it's about. It's inspired by that that White Sox fan who heckled Catal Marte. If you haven't seen this story, Arizona Diamondbacks All Star second baseman Cattel Marte was broke, broke down in tears Tuesday night in a meeting at the mound and at first people were like, what's going on? Turns out he was heckled by somebody in the audience about his dead mother who passed away in 2017 in a car crash in the Dominican Republic. It happened at Chicago's right field during his seventh inning plate appearance. Diamondbacks manager Tory Lavello, who I love, shout out Tory Lovello and bench coach Jeff Bannister asked the offending fan to be ejected and a White Sox spokesperson told the Arizona Republic the request was honored. He has since this fan been banned from all MLB stadiums. And then yesterday the White Sox put a message in stadium that said the White Sox community supports Cattel Marte. What's going on with fans, guys? As a podcast that claims to be for sports fans that has actually in interviews said the people we're trying to reach are the people who will go to a baseball game but don't listen to a sports podcast, I have to say then if that's really the podcast for those people, I have to say to you, my people, get it together. I think there's this we live in a world now where people think they have the right to say whatever they want whenever they want to and that anybody telling them not to do that is infringing on their freedom. And I just want to say it's not. It's actually something we used to all have and care about called decorum. It's like living in a society where you can't just run around saying and screaming whatever you want to at people just because you paid the entry price for a ticket, it does not get you the right to yell at somebody because you you paid the ticket just gets you in the door. What you're supposed to do then is act like an adult. Not no one's saying you can't boo. No one's saying you can't heckle. I think Brady in our in our pre show meeting, his example was if you want to Say like, hey, you can't hit curveballs. If you want to say that in some sort of an interesting way, sure, I mean, that's fine. That's within the, within the game. We're talking about the game. But as soon as you bring up anything outside of the game, you should know you're opening yourself up to be removed. And I've seen people on the Internet say, well, what actually did he say? What could he have possibly said that would make a baseball player react like that? And I'll say, it's none of your business. It doesn't really matter. Even if what the fan said was as innocuous as yo mama. Anyone who's ever told a yo mama joke knows that the intrinsic issue with it, the risk you're taking by telling it, something may have happened to that person's mama and this could trigger them. So even if that's all it was, I don't care. Why are you bringing up a mama anyway? I'm playing baseball. I just feel like fans, between the gambling stuff, you know, we talked about this with the WNBA when they were like, I need such and such for my parlay to hit and all. This isn't fully new. You know, fans have been doing weird dumb shit for a while. There was, I remember a couple years ago, maybe time moves different. I hate having to ballpark this, but I was going to say seven years, five years ago, there was like a, an incident with somebody in the crowd of a basketball game being racist. I remember that pretty specifically. It was fans have been dumb since fans have existed. But I just feel like since the pandemic, our ability to exist together in public has gone down significantly noticeably. And I just think that, like, listen, as a sports fan attending a sporting event, keep it about the sport and shut your mouth. Like most of the time, shut your mouth. Because honestly, honestly, close your eyes and picture that you're at a game and picture the guy two rows behind you non stop screaming at a player. Do you like that guy? Have you ever liked that guy? Because I've sat near that guy and by like the fourth inning, you're like, okay, guy, okay. It's like online trolls, they just poke, poke, poke, poke, poke because they are so desperate for a reaction. Well, buddy, you got a reaction and now you're banned from, from all MLB parks. Which my dad said, well, how are they going to enforce that? That's typical. Mike Nolan immediately goes to logistics. How does that get, how could they possibly enforce that? And I was like, well, I imagine I don't know, but I imagine they put a picture of him up in, like, the ticket places or maybe in the security places. And sure, maybe nobody looks at it. And sure, maybe he gets into a ballpark. I think the point is, if they catch you in that ballpark, they can then take you to court. Like, you can get in real, like, legal trouble for trespassing because you're not allowed to be here. And also, just how embarrassing for an entire sport to band together and go, you're not allowed to come. I'd be like, what? That's crazy. So how embarrassing. Let this be a lesson. Just stop. Like, watch the game. Go to therapy. I don't know what it is that you've got to do, but, like, I'm seeing people try to victimize. Yeah. Get a stress. Thank you. What happened to stress balls? Actually, don't know if you'd be allowed to bring that in. What do you think, Brady? Can you bring a stress ball to an MLB park?
Brady
Yeah, it's not going to trigger a metal detector. Like, who's going to stop you from bringing a stress ball?
Katie Nolan
I don't know. They check. They poke around inside your bag with a ruler.
Brady
Really? Oh, I guess. I don't bring purses.
Katie Nolan
Someone's never carried a purse. Wow.
Brady
I have brought the clear, like, baby bag in. Like, I. I've done my part.
Katie Nolan
I hate a clear bag. It's such a terrible.
Isabella
So ug.
Katie Nolan
So ugly. Unless it's full of tampons. Shout out to our set where we are not. Where we currently are not.
Brady
We're one week past like this already. Seems like Katel Martin knocked it out of the news cycle. Dennis Santana from the Pirates got suspended four games for swinging on a fan.
Katie Nolan
And I don't even remember that. How did I miss that?
Brady
Detroit at Comerica. Dennis Santana. There's just video of him, like, grabbing a fan and stands and just taking a swing at him. Well, the story came out, you know, quickly after the. The local radio in Detroit or Pittsburgh, one of the two was reporting the fan was, like, throwing peanuts at him and just bringing up stuff about Santana's, like, recently deceased dad. And Santana appealed the suspension. But, like, there are two alternatives. Dennis Santana is going to come and take a swing at you, which is probably deserved in this. In this situation, or could tell Marte is just going to have a very public breakdown. Neither one of these is a win. Neither one of these is an outcome that either of these men should have to be forced into just because you, as a fan, wanted to be.
Katie Nolan
And now, inappropriate question, but would you rather be punched by the guy you're heckling or be banned from all MLB Stadium?
Brady
It's a way better story to be punched by Dennis Santana.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I bet you're also. I bet you're also banned though. I bet once he punches you, I.
Brady
Mean, if it's an either or, then you have the story of Dennis Santana punching you and it's probably on film somewhere and then you don't have the.
Katie Nolan
And you probably grow from it. You probably grow from the experience. I think a lot of people need to be getting.
Brady
Covid took that away. We got very remote and fewer people got punched in the face for their actions.
Katie Nolan
So true.
Brady
That needs to come back.
Katie Nolan
So true.
Brady
We need to make punching people great again. Like, let's. I don't make it normal again. Let's make it justifiable punching retaliatory with nothing past. Like, just like a well deserved, like good flip off.
Katie Nolan
Good guys punching bad guys. Because now they're gonna go, they said we should punch, so we're gonna go to the game and just throw.
Brady
Let's bring back talk shit get hit. Like, let's make that.
Katie Nolan
I'm just. Yes, it's just like I'm embarrassed of fans where you're like, guys, what the hell? What the hell? After 2020, when there was like that year without fans and you watched these games and it was so weird that the fans weren't there. The lesson for me was like, hey, sports, a real part in the environment of sports. Like, we have our own end of the deal that we have to hold up. And I just feel like nobody's making sure we hold up that end of the deal. Like, if you've got hate in your heart, it. Sports is not the place where you're supposed to let it out. Like, what's going on with you that you feel like you need to bring up someone's dead parent in order to, I don't know what, make them feel like you're going to win the game? It doesn't make any logical sense. Talk to somebody better. They don't sponsor this podcast yet, but they might.
Brady
But it's a popular online mental health.
Katie Nolan
Go to it.
Brady
Let's just leave it at that. There is help. There's help out there for you and it's better than not getting it.
Katie Nolan
Header belt, headerbelt.com.com. my. I was gonna say that and then I was like, they're not gonna know what I'm talking about. So anyway, that's kind of like A yap. It's just like, get your together. You're embarrassing us, okay? You're embarrassing us. Be better. Grow up. Nobody likes you.
Isabella
And get header. Belp.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, be header. Get belp. What else? Brady, you wrote in here the concept of drafts. I know Pablo did a thing about drafts being unconstitutional. Do you feel like maybe this might be too deep for casuals?
Brady
I think I bit off way more than I could chew. If you really want to have a deep conversation with a former FTC chairman chairwoman, just go listen to Pablo where they talk about the. Yeah, go listen to theoretical issues of if having a draft and forcing young athletes to a certain place of employment with no other option is unconstitutional. Just go listen to Pablo. He's good at that, right?
Katie Nolan
Well, we could. We could recap it for you, but it just feels like if that's something that interests you, go listen to it and look, I don't like a draft. I've said this before, but it's not for any, like, you know, smart reason. I just. They bore me. They're not the sports. I'm here for the sports. I don't care about the creating of the business of the sports. I just want to watch the sports being played. And so that's why last night, I did not watch the NBA draft. Now, here's the thing. Isabella did.
Isabella
I did. It was.
Katie Nolan
How was. How was your first televised draft? Watching experience.
Isabella
That shit is long.
Brady
That was only the first round last night.
Isabella
I know. First of all, I even learned that there's a first round and a second round last night. I was like, they're not gonna do the second round tonight. We haven't even gotten to it yet. Yeah, that's long. I will say to. As a tip, maybe for it to not be so long, maybe we should, you know, not have. You gotta limit the amount of hugs you give to your family.
Katie Nolan
Oh, okay. Hot take. Yap about it, girlfriend. Let's hear.
Isabella
I was, like, watching it, and I was like, let's get to the next pick. You need to get on stage and shake his hand and get the hat so we can move on to the next pick.
Brady
I like the weaponizing of the hugs here. Like, you have to be very judicial. Who gets your three hugs? Is it mom, dad, girlfriend, agent? Like, somebody has to get shut out here. This is good.
Isabella
I mean, if you have a kid, you know you're gonna have to shut out one of the parents because you got to do your.
Katie Nolan
Your wife, your baby, to hug your baby.
Brady
You two more.
Katie Nolan
That doesn't Count. That's just holding it. I feel like that doesn't count. It's like an airplane seat. You don't have to buy a full seat for the baby. He doesn't get a full hug.
Isabella
There was one guy, me, I was watching. Me and my boyfriend were like, damn, bro. Go on stage. Go on stage. He's hugging everyone as he's walking too. Like, I'm like, these people. Does he even know these people?
Katie Nolan
Yeah, you're being greedy at this point. You're just giving out hugs, like, nice to meet you.
Isabella
But also at the same time, if I were in their position, I would do the same thing. I'd be like, yes, guys. Oh, my God.
Katie Nolan
I would invite Everybody.
Brady
It was 90 appreciative tears. But then I'm going to jump to my favorite moment of the draft. Last night was at number nine, Colin Murray Boyles got drafted by the Toronto Raptors. And the camera cuts to him at his table on the draft floor. They make the announcement. Colin Murray Boyles looks down, shakes his head, and then very clearly says, fuck, and stands up and walks.
Isabella
Really?
Katie Nolan
Now. And now, here's my thing about this. In defense of this guy. I watched this clip, and I feel like it could have been one of those, like, man, I just got drafted to the NBA. Like, it felt like it could have been like a. The shaking of the head for sure. Maybe it's a stretch for the. But when he shook his head and looked down, I thought it gave. It was very much giving to me. Man, I worked so hard for this. I got drafted to the NBA. It really happened.
Isabella
Not like, God damn it, I'm going to.
Brady
That one also happened.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady
Ace Bailey got drafted by Utah. Ace Bailey had refused to work out for Utah. He had refused to work out with anybody in the top five and, like, wanted to go to the teams that were picking, like, six, seven, eight. They drafted Ace Bailey at his post. His, like, press conference quote after was, I can control what I can control they feel, how they feel. But my team and me, me focusing on basketball and them doing what they're doing. So it happens.
Katie Nolan
Whoa. First of all, before we get into it, Ace Bailey is short for Aries. How do you possibly not go by Aries?
Isabella
I know. It was right there.
Katie Nolan
You're. It's like his airness. It's like things people have tried to make happen.
Brady
It's like if Katie were short for Cleopatra. Like, he's like a much cooler name, right?
Katie Nolan
And I was just like, yeah, I go by Katie. Hey. Whoa. Ouch.
Brady
Equally Cool name.
Katie Nolan
Damn. Brady. Air it out. How you feel about my name? It rhymes with yours. Brioplatra. That's Brady's full name. So, yeah, he did. Full name. Arius is crazy that you go by Ace. That's my first thought. Second thought. This is very interesting in the era of, you know, we kind of saw this with the NFL draft is like, Shador Sanders and how famous he is, how big his profile is, how much money he made, and then to have where he went in the draft, those two things were at odds with each other. Same thing. This is a little different because he's talking about choosing where he wants, but it's this thing about player empowerment. They're coming from college. Players are now going to be coming from a place where, like, they had earning potential. They could have potentially gotten a huge social media following, and they feel like they should be in control of where they're going. I'm sure this speaks to what Pablo speaks to in his. In his episode that we just made you go listen to. It's just an interesting time for drafts because players used to be just like, happy to be there, go wherever I get sent. And now there's sort of this, like, well, I don't want to go to either of these teams, so I'm going to do what I can, control what I can to try to go to a different team. And Ace Bailey would have been the. I believe he was like, consensus third pick. But then when he didn't go to any of these workouts, he. He started dropping down the board. He only dropped to, what, five? And got scooped up by Utah, which I don't know. There's a lot going on in Utah. You can get, I mean, soda on every corner. You can get one of those fun sodas where they put soda and syrup in the soda to make it something flavorful. That's what those Mormons get. Big soda.
Brady
I've.
Isabella
I've nothing to get dehydrated.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it's.
Isabella
Yeah, it's like you're high up.
Katie Nolan
You could. You're high up and you're drinking a lot of Sodi.
Brady
So my wife's been watching, like, I. I just don't have much to go on of what to add about that's delayed.
Katie Nolan
Why doesn't she watch the great Mormon. Whatever show that is Mormon Wives. What's it called? Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, A show that sold itself to you as if it was going to be about the fact that these Mormons were all sleeping with each other's husband. Then once the show started, it barely addressed that even a little bit. So I felt kind of baited and switched, but I haven't yet. Maybe I'll do that today. Yeah. So Ace.
Brady
Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper.
Katie Nolan
What else happened?
Brady
Harper 2, Bailey F. They both went to Rutgers together. Rutgers was 15 and 17 last year.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady
How was Rutgers so bad with two of the top five picks in the draft? I have no idea.
Isabella
Shout out, Ruckers.
Katie Nolan
I think it's because they're not positively.
Brady
Shouting out Rutgers here.
Isabella
Oh, well, I am.
Katie Nolan
What's the opposite of a shout out? Slander. Slander Ruckers.
Isabella
Shout out Scarlet Knights.
Katie Nolan
Nice. I'm actually proud of you for that.
Isabella
I mean, if I didn't know that, living, like, 20 minutes away from it would have been wild.
Brady
Props to Dylan Harper, though. I'm out on a limb.
Katie Nolan
Say, are you going to say it? What do you. Go ahead. Are you gonna say it? Are you gonna bring it up?
Isabella
My dad. My dad messaged it. He just this morning, I look at my Instagram group chat with my family, and he just sends the video of Dylan Harper getting picked and just writes, bella. That's it. I'm like, thank you. Thank you. Wanted to show me that. Yeah.
Brady
Probably the highest draft I can. I'll confidently say highest drafted. Filipino American.
Katie Nolan
Oh, that's what you're gonna say? I. That's what you're gonna say?
Brady
I don't know.
Katie Nolan
I probably didn't have anything else to say about Dylan Harper.
Brady
Dylan Harper's drafting and one of his three hugs went to his mom, who understood the assignment that she was going to be on camera and achieved it.
Katie Nolan
Well, I think that's just the face card. I just don't think it declines. I don't think she was, like, trying. I think she was putting everybody on notice.
Brady
It was an effortless headline. Stealing.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I think I saw it. As we've learned, she's also a basketball coach at like.
Isabella
Or she used to play basketball or something. And then I think she coaches at, like, the other brother's high school or something like that.
Katie Nolan
That's sick. That's even cooler.
Brady
She played college basketball for New Orleans and is currently an assistant coach at Don Bosco. All right.
Katie Nolan
Don Bosco. That sounds like a. Like a gangster. You can go to school there.
Isabella
It's a high school in Jersey.
Katie Nolan
I go to Don Bosco whenever I need somebody taken care of. I'm majoring in sleeping with the fishes at Don Bosco. It also sounds like Bada Bings and.
Brady
Dylan Harper's dad was Ron Harper, who was Michael Jordan's point guard that. I thought everyone remembered Ron Harper, but.
Katie Nolan
No, of course we do.
Brady
It's like, there's Pippin, there's Jordan, and then on the end of every photo, it's like, oh, it's Ron Harper.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Isabella's favorite old basketball player. She was saying, we love have his.
Isabella
Jersey in my room hung up.
Katie Nolan
And that's how you talk about someone's parents.
Brady
Respectfully, I respect your game. Ron Harper, always.
Katie Nolan
It is so, like, funny. Whenever there's a sporting event where a hot woman is shown in any capacity, social media is like, this woman so hot. You're like, okay, it's just a lady who looks good. Everybody rel. There's lots of websites that'll show you exclusively that if you want, we don't have to. Oh, my God, she's so hot. Wow. Okay, dude. Okay. All right. Brady, you wanted us to do a fashion recap. Like I said, I did not watch the draft. I'm loud and proud on that. Thank you very much. I watched two shitty movies with my parents last night. And recap. The movie Red with Bruce Willis and Mary.
Isabella
Oh, I never seen that.
Katie Nolan
Marie. Mary Louise Parker half watched. Yeah, I half watched. It was one of those scroll while you watched Red two parts I looked up for were ridiculous. We did not watch Red 2. Instead, we watched. I wish I remembered the name of it. Like a movie on. On like Turner Classic Movies. Like an old black and white movie about a lady who was running from the law and she hid in a home full of teachers, male teachers who all lived together and hilarity.
Brady
And you were like, one step away from describing Sister Act.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it wasn't Sister act, though, and it was pretty bad. But anyway, do we want to look through some. Was there fashion worth noting? Should I click on this?
Brady
This is essentially the Met gala of basketball. It is.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. I guess.
Brady
I don't know. You haven't looked at the suits. Let's judge after. Let's judge after.
Katie Nolan
I have not. This is a cold. And you know me, fashion icon. Many are saying.
Brady
So you want to start at the top. Going down, let's go with Jeremiah Fears.
Isabella
Okay.
Brady
Out of Oklahoma, going double giant chain with a. He had a. Like a chest size fierce chain and a chest size zero chain.
Isabella
Oh, no. Is his number zero?
Brady
Number zero?
Isabella
He can't choose that number.
Katie Nolan
Oh, no.
Isabella
He must not choose that number.
Katie Nolan
Oh, no.
Brady
Wear high tops, full custom custom Gucci print suit.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, that's nice.
Isabella
I like it.
Katie Nolan
I hate that I can tell there's stuff in his pockets. This is my number one issue with any draft fashion is when the pants are tailored to your body, but then you put your gigantic phone in it and I can see it like through your. And it makes the pants not fit right. But other than that, I mean, this is great. The way that the pants and the. What is that vest called?
Isabella
Vest.
Katie Nolan
Sure. The way that they're not the print, but the jacket is the print. And then the lapel of the jacket is solid and the lapel of the vest is the print. I love this. I think this is a great look. I think he looks great.
Isabella
Yeah, I like it too.
Brady
Joanne Berenger, The Frenchman went 17th overall to the Minnesota Timberwolves where he will get to play with another tall Frenchman. I love when like they have the mentor like Rudy Gobert with Johan Berenger went with the double breasted salmon color wide lapel look. My favorite note of this is that they don't have hats that exist for guys with giant hair. Like he does. It just kind of sits way up on top the head. Like he doesn't even know.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, that's why I think. Yeah, that's why I think we should be doing like jerseys. I don't think hats makes a lot of sense because imagine like you're that you got your hair done for this big red carpet event. I'm thinking as a woman, but you know, and then you go in and you've got to put a hat on. It's like, I don't know. What if we did a jersey?
Isabella
A little pin instead?
Katie Nolan
Okay. That's cut like a sash.
Brady
Like a mayor's sash.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Mr. Sacramento Kings. I really like the Mr. Boston Celtics. I think that's the way I like.
Isabella
The shade of pink of this jacket.
Katie Nolan
Yes. Salmon. I don't think I'd go with unless my monitors settings are different than yours. Brady. I'd call this more of like a mauve.
Brady
I only know like nine different colors.
Katie Nolan
Okay. What you're wearing is closer to salmon.
Brady
Ace Bailey black on red for Rutgers. Many a sequin, no tie, big chain. Had the Rutgers, the whole Rutgers team in season on the inside of the jacket in the lining.
Isabella
Okay.
Katie Nolan
So the lining's like a thing. This is like a thing people are doing. They're putting stuff in their lining. It feels like it's getting away. They're getting away with not putting it on the outside. This looks like he's wet. This looks like somebody dumped water on his head and it like trickled down his jacket from first look before I put my glasses on, also has all.
Brady
The thrill in his eyes of a man who just learned 30 seconds ago that he has to go work in Utah.
Katie Nolan
I mean, nobody seems excited to me, but that's. We got yelled at for that online that we said nobody in OKC was excited. They're like, bad take. They were crying like. Yeah. All right.
Brady
Carter Bryant, number 14 overall for Arizona.
Katie Nolan
You do.
Brady
I'm going to you. I will clear out. This man is wearing a double breasted fuchsia suit, no shirt.
Katie Nolan
Fuchsia Foosha Brady.
Isabella
Foosha Brady. It is fuchsia.
Brady
I just learned this color today. Okay, stepping back.
Isabella
And that is not fuchsia.
Katie Nolan
Fuchsia. That is an eggplant, an aubergine.
Brady
You're making me.
Katie Nolan
I'm double breasted.
Isabella
I'm not.
Katie Nolan
You said you were going to step away.
Brady
So Katie known flexing that she had the 96 box of crayons back in the day.
Katie Nolan
A double breasted, but only one button. V neck, no lapel on this. This is just a straight collar, two pins. I don't like this Isabella defender.
Isabella
I don't know. I think the, the no lapel look looks cool. Maybe with.
Katie Nolan
With the no shirt.
Isabella
I don't know about the no shirt. Maybe if he had like a crew neck underneath it, but like a sleek one so it doesn't look too casual. I don't know.
Katie Nolan
A bodysuit? Yeah, Two boys wear boys or bodysuits. Because I'd wear a bodysuit under that. I don't. I mean, look, this is where, this is where you got to take whatever I say with a grain of salt. Because I'm not a fashion icon. This is not. I don't, I'm. I'm never on the cutting edge of fashion. I'm always like three seasons behind, so what the hell do I know? But I do know that I, that like, this was a look, at least in women's fashion, like five to seven years ago of the, like, thing with no shirt under it. And I liked it. I don't, I just don't love it here. I also think I'm looking at a photo of him getting it tailored.
Isabella
That's what I was saying. If it was. If it was more tailored. See how this is on his armpits? It's like a little bit loose. Yeah, I wish it was more tailored, but I, I think the no lapel is kind of interesting. I don't really see that that often.
Katie Nolan
You sure don't. And I think there's Reasons why. Next.
Brady
All right, the main event here, Trey Johnson, the guard from the University of Texas who went to the Washington Wizards, describe his outfit.
Isabella
I love it. I love it.
Katie Nolan
It's a. What is it? Double breasted. I never understand the breasts. I just have them, you know. It's a suit. Navy blue with long baggy shorts right below the kneecap. Scrunched white socks and what appear to be black Doc Martens.
Isabella
Yeah, they're like Doc. Doc Martin loafers. They're a little bit like raised. And then the jacket is also cropped, which.
Katie Nolan
Oh, I didn't notice that. And it almost looks like there's like a fleck print. Like it's got little flecks of color on it.
Isabella
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Katie Nolan
And then a black tie, white shirt with a spread collar and a black tie.
Isabella
I like this, guys. Look it up. Trey Johnson, look what? That one up.
Brady
He's wearing shorts with a suit to the draw. Like, this is. Mind breaking past the main event.
Katie Nolan
This is fashion. This is fashion. I.
Isabella
It's dress shorts.
Katie Nolan
Always jealous of a scrunched sock because I feel like when I do it, it looks wrong and when everybody else does it, it looks right. And Chicago. So I'm a little jealous of how scrunched these socks are. Remember when LeBron wore shorts with a suit and everybody lost their mind?
Brady
Yeah, at the Olympics.
Katie Nolan
It's. Look, it's a heat wave. We're in the midst of a heat wave. It's hot as hell. Like, wear your crop jacket. If you can't wear your crop jacket and suit shorts here, where can you wear them?
Isabella
Exactly.
Katie Nolan
So I say it's not for me, but. But he looks, you know, fashionable. Shorts are a little baggy. I feel like they could be.
Brady
They're like Adam Sandler. They're huge.
Isabella
I don't know, but I like the, like the silhouette of the whole thing with the cropped jacket and then with the length of the shorts. I think it's just. I don't know, it's. It's cool.
Katie Nolan
Maybe it's because he's been sitting. Was he a later pick? Where? When did he get number six? Oh, well, he's been sitting for a long time, judging by the creasing in the shorts. So maybe he should have stood up for a minute before he went to his seat, because that I don't love. But that's not his fault, neither here nor there. He took a swing and Isabella likes it, so I love it.
Isabella
Yeah, I love it, guys. So if you love me, you'll love It.
Katie Nolan
Damn. And then Cooper flag. No, zero, zero out of ten suit doesn't fit. It's too big.
Isabella
Half of it's unbuttoned.
Katie Nolan
It's. I'm allergic to this fit. I do not like.
Isabella
Tie is crooked.
Katie Nolan
Not a s. You are the number one pick. You knew that you were gonna be the number one pick. Maybe you could argue. I guess the statement could be like, I'm so focused on basketball, I couldn't care less about fashion. But like, somebody's. Somebody's job should have been to make you look fresh. And you don't look fresh at all.
Brady
Now let me take you behind the curtain on this. Cooper Flag, early in the day announced that he was a new brand ambassador for Boss.
Katie Nolan
Excuse me.
Brady
So there was a lot of work that went into this look. It is a.
Katie Nolan
Was this a boss?
Brady
This is a Boss blue three piece suit from Boss. And that is the end of the description.
Katie Nolan
The three piece of it all. You can barely tell because the tailoring on the vest has it right behind the jacket. You can't barely see it. It just kind of looks like he has two jackets on. Again, tie being crooked, pants being. There's, like puckering on the hem. No, this is.
Isabella
And he was on tv, like, the most. Like he was, you know.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Isabella
Panels and stuff.
Katie Nolan
And if people came into this draft only knowing one name, it was your name. And so you had a real chance here to make some sort of a statement and you didn't. Didn't you say, Brady, that he was asked what he was wearing and he just said three piece suit.
Brady
Monica McNutt, pregame, has been asked, was asking everybody, tell me about your suit. So, like, this is after. Like after Ace Bailey comes through. After everyone comes through. Cooper, talk to me about your suit. It's a three piece from Boss.
Katie Nolan
Okay. From Boss. I'm gonna say as a brand ambassador, you really do have to say the name of the brand. It's kind of the only requirement is that you wear the clothes and then say, that's who made them. So at least he did say that. That's.
Brady
You ready to pick a winner.
Katie Nolan
This article says to commemorate the partnership, Flag was outfitted in his navy blue three piece suit, which goes to show that classic formal wearer never, never go out of sight style. Okay. I. I hate it. So actually, I think maybe it does go out of style. My winner.
Isabella
Isabella Johnson. I really liked it.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, of course.
Isabella
Sorry, guys. Sorry.
Katie Nolan
I'm going to. I'm going to go with Jeremiah Fears. I like that look. I think that's nice.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
That would probably be second. No socks. I didn't notice that till now, but that's fine. I don't.
Isabella
It works with, like, the cropped pants.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Okay, so that's your fashion minute. That's your Fashion Beat. Doot doot doot doot doot doot. That's the theme song for the Fashion Beat segment. Can you guys get that in?
Isabella
Where's the AI woman? Where is her? Where is she?
Katie Nolan
Fashion beat. Fashion. That's how that goes. Do the music again. Play the music again, Isabelle. Oh, wait. Fashion. There you go. That's a drop. You know, summer isn't just for playing sports. It's for the conversations around sports, too. You know, the casual hangouts, whether they're inside in the air conditioning or out on the beach with fellow sports fans. Whatever kind of summer mood you're in, Starbucks has a beverage to match. Like the Summer Berry Refresher, the unofficial drink of the summer. It's so good, it's sweet, but not too sweet. It's three berry flavors and it's everything I never would have thought I wanted, but absolutely do want. It's perfect for sipping while you catch up on last night's scores. No matter what, whether it's that drink or one of their other summer drinks, your summer favorites are ready at Starbucks.

Katie Nolan
Discover is accepted at 99 of places that take credit cards nationwide and every time you make a purchase with your.
Brady
Card you automatically earn cash back. Welcome to the now it pays to Discover.
Katie Nolan
Learn more@discover.com credit card based on the February 2024 Nelson report okay, I'm trying to do I lost my contact somewhere in my parents house.
Isabella
Are they behind your eyeballs?
Katie Nolan
And I told Isabella the other day I had a real scare where I put a contact with a tear in it in my eye just hoping I could make it through the night. And then when I went to take them out it felt like it was stuck and I took I only got half out. It had ripped in half and I couldn't find the other half and I was convinced it was behind my eyeball and I got down on all fours and Dan was like what's going on? And I said I just need to remain calm and keep blinking. I think it will come out eventually, but there may we may be going to the hospital. And then it was fine, I got it out, everything was fine. But anyway I lost them and I'm trying to do this podcast without them because my glasses look crazy on camera but I can't read. So I'm just like on and off with these things today. The let's talk. You know I hate drafts. Let's keep talking about them. The PWL the PWL draft was actually kind of eventful. Pretty crazy. The New York Sirens selected Christina Caltun Kova Nailed it. Thank you. With the number one pick adding a physical forward with international experience and a heavy shot to bring more offense to the Sirens lineup, it was hardly a surprising pick given Calton Cova's experience with Sirens coach Greg Greg Fargo from Colgate University. But then came the first big move of the night. New York sent defender Ella Shelton to Toronto in exchange for the number three pick and a fourth round pick. And then with the number three pick, Sirens GM Pascal Da that's how you say it. I looked it up and that's how everyone's saying it. So it's how I'm saying it. It ignores half of the letters in his name, but it's how we're going to say it. Pascal Da selected Patty Kazmier Award winner Casey o' Brien, adding a gifted playmaker and highly productive college forward to the early Hall. He leveraged a position of strength to draft the two best forwards coming out of the ncaa. But that's not all. Later in the evening, Daou traded forward Abby Rock. Our girl Abby Rock, who was. It says here, inconsistent in New York, but I don't feel consistently great on a microphone. Our best friend. Yeah, I thought she was fantastic. And who else has scored a crazy goal where you scoop it up and plop it into the net?
Isabella
No one.
Katie Nolan
Tell me. No one. Anyway, that they traded her to Montreal, which is kind of fascinating because that means she's on a team now with Poulin, and that's kind of. I'd be tuning in to see that in exchange for defensive forward Kristen o' Neill and a fourth round pick. When the deal was announced, there were audible gasps throughout the crowd. The Sirens look good on paper the last two years, but couldn't quite figure things out on the ice. And there are many months until the 2526 season to figure out if Daoud truly pulled off the turnaround. It looks like New York should have regardless, the Sirens and their general manager stole the show for most of the 2025 PWHL draft. So again, the position of this podcast is fuck a draft, you know, but.
Isabella
Except.
Katie Nolan
Nice, nice. Good job, Isabella. Thank you. But if we're doing a draft, it's so long as we live in a draft culture. That was a crazy draft. Making all those moves and not rip to Abbey Rock, but like in New York.
Brady
So I have to hate her now. Like she becomes the opposition to a local squad.
Katie Nolan
I know, I know but.
Brady
Well, you were cool.
Katie Nolan
I hope she. But I do hope when she gets to Montreal, I hope that like clicks for her because as they say, inconsistencies. Maybe here and. And maybe it's just the program that she needs. So it seems like everybody it with for the few teams that they have, it seems like a lot of interesting moves have been made and shuffling has happened. It's always fun in a young league to watch talent get shuffled and see like, oh, that team figured it out that they needed this formula as opposed to this formula. So. Should be interesting in Montreal. Haven't they won all of the championships?
Brady
No, Minnesota. Minnesota.
Katie Nolan
You're the editor, so you don't have to. Oh, all of both of them. Damn. Never mind. So don't even. Let me. Don't even leave that in there. Take that whole thing out. So anyway, it should be interesting.
Brady
NHL draft on Friday. You in? Yeah.
Katie Nolan
No, I can't. I don't want. What if I Just didn't. World would turn it's casuals. I started this so that we could just talk about the sports. I don't want to have to talk about the making of the sports. I do not care. Tell me who's on what team. Right before eating sausage.
Brady
Not making sausage.
Katie Nolan
That's right.
Isabella
Exactly.
Katie Nolan
That's absolutely. That's. Put that on a T shirt.
Isabella
That's one of our merch. I'll say that's one of our merch T shirts.
Katie Nolan
We should do merch soon, I think. I didn't want to launch a podcast with merch because that just feels like a cash grab. But we're like episode 50, right? What episode is this?
Isabella
This is.
Katie Nolan
46. 46, yeah. So we're getting close. Maybe we'll launch at 50. Big news in running today in Paris, Kenyan runner Faith Kip Yagen Kip Yagon is running an exhibition time trial sponsored by Nike in an attempt to become the first woman in history to break the four minute mile mark. She currently holds the record at four minutes and seven seconds. So that's to a layman seems like all right, just shave seven seconds off your time. But to a. I mean that's like.
Brady
It'S two seconds a lap. That's a lot.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, that's a lot.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
And while this won't technically be eligible for official world record status, so it's.
Brady
Not technically like an officially sanctioned track meet. It's an exhibition time trial that Nike is put on putting on there. Like it is engineered for the perfect conditions, the perfect time of year. It is fate's track of choice. It is like the right time of day. She's going to have the ability to like choose the other runners running ahead of her. For her to pace off of to know the pace she needs to get to to run the four minute mile, which is, you know, slightly over four laps. So we're looking at under 60 seconds a lap. So it's like perfect conditions for her and just engineer for the breaking four to be able to do this. So not technically a world record event. But like nothing will stop her from saying I am the first woman to ever run a sub 4 minute mile. So here's the catch though. To anyone listening to this. By the time you have heard this, by the time why when you were hearing this, she will have already run this. This event is.
Katie Nolan
But at the time it is gonna, it's gonna happen in an hour.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
So let's go ahead and give the people our reaction. She didn't. No, we'll start. She did it. Okay, so she. Guys, she did it. A sub. 4 or 4. Holy mile.
Brady
Just.
Katie Nolan
It's been done.
Isabella
Let's go.
Brady
Incredible.
Katie Nolan
Go. Huge, huge, big year for. This is a sign of things to come for women. Okay. We are winning and we're doing it quickly. We are quickly winning and. And we're just elite. I think that this makes me think women are going to be good for the rest of the year. Nothing bad can happen to us because Faith did this for us.
Brady
Used to be that no one thought anyone could run a mile in four minutes. That was like a barrier of human performance. And then, like, Roger Bannister made it a whole big deal becoming the first man to do it in 1954. Like, incredible. They thought that. No.
Katie Nolan
Why'd you have to bring that up? Why'd you have to bring up that a man did it so long ago? Why did that have to come up here? Yeah. And then he did it. And it was a really long time ago. Why'd you do that? And for all that work. They named the thing that you hold onto when you go up the stairs after him. And I thought that was nice of them. Okay, now unfortunately, let's. So Faith tried it and she didn't do it. Ready? Go.
Isabella
Whatever. They're losers. You're literally the best. Who cares?
Katie Nolan
Running a mile under four minutes. Who needs that? Show me where that skill is needed. Show me what that does for society. Okay, I did it seven seconds. Than I did it last time.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Like, what? Are you happy? Like, what the. Who needs that? In what world?
Isabella
No, literally. You're literally doing harm to my body. Like, I'm trying. I did 4 minutes and 7 seconds. I'm saying I. Like, I'm her.
Katie Nolan
Haven't we done enough?
Isabella
Exactly.
Katie Nolan
Okay, next challenge. Men make a baby. You know, grow a baby. Nike's gonna make mission's perfect for you. To create a baby inside of you for.
Brady
No. Allyles. To create life.
Katie Nolan
Okay, and now is there anything. If she ties. If she gets it at 4, is that a push? Does she win? Does it? Breaking the four minute mark. You need to go subs. Okay, so let's do one. Like it was exactly four minutes on the nose. Ready? Go. Count it. Count it.
Isabella
Why wouldn't that take it?
Brady
Run it back, I guess, like, count it close.
Katie Nolan
Check the. Check the. Check the clocks and make sure. Because I've had clocks be off a little bit before. And maybe the guy who had to push the like, boop. It's starting. Guy or gal or whatever. They identify as they push a little doop. And it was a robot. See, I don't trust those. I don't trust those.
Brady
It's definitely laser time.
Katie Nolan
Check the robot. Robots don't want humans to be great.
Isabella
Is it the kind where once their foot steps onto, clocks the time? Because those ones I'll trust because it's like, that's my physical body touching.
Katie Nolan
I'll never trust. I'll never trust a robot. So maybe you, but not me. So I think count it. Four minutes is good enough. What do you want it to be? 359. Get off your ass and run. How about that?
Isabella
Yeah. How do they know if it wasn't 359.99?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. And it was to me. So congratulations, Faith. I always kept it, the faith, you.
Brady
Know, three separate reactions. Check the episode notes. We'll tell you what actually happened.
Katie Nolan
Which one to listen. Yeah, we'll tell you which one to skip to so you know which one to listen. Don't listen to all of them. That'd be silly. But they will all be in there because legally they have to. Where can we watch this, Brady?
Brady
This at this point, was on YouTube. Considering it's already happened.
Katie Nolan
Yes. Where had we watched this? You.
Brady
You clearly watched this on YouTube. You can go run it back on YouTube if you want to see Faith take the Breaking4 challenge.
Katie Nolan
Okay, I'm going to let you take the lead on this next one because Brady has been. This story got bumped on Tuesday, and Brady won't shut up about it. And I'm excited for you, but I know you have a lot of passion for it, so I want you to tell it. But it's the summer of Big Dumper, everybody.
Brady
The summer of Big Dumper. Baseball is built on stars people can connect with, because one of the joys of baseball is that you play every day. It is 162games throughout the season. You see these people out there each and every day. They're always. They're always doing it. And you latch on to these stars that have these stories. You hear a lot about Aaron Judge in New York. You hear about Shohei Ohtani in la. The big cities, the big markets have the big stars. The most impressive performance of this season is Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh. Cal Raleigh, affectionately throughout his entire professional baseball career, known as Big Dumper. And he is known as Big Dumper solely because former Mariners top prospect Jared Kalanick, when they were playing together in the minors, called him Big Dumper because Cal Raleigh has a huge ass.
Katie Nolan
Got that ass.
Brady
Cakes for Days.
Katie Nolan
Cal Raleigh for days. You said you want to. You want to try that again? No, that in there.
Brady
You've seen this man and very proudly. Cal Raleigh is a catcher. Catchers notoriously have huge asses. He's a switch hitter. He leads the major leagues in home runs. He's got 32 this year. It is like top five for the most home runs ever hit before the All Star break. And they have something like 17 games to go with the All Star break. Still, he's on pace to hit more home runs than Aaron Judge did when he set the American League record. On pace to hit like it was. It's like 65 at this point. In insane power. It's just home run after home run. He homeward in four straight games earlier this week. And he's a switch hitter. Hits both right handed and left handed. Makes him much harder to get out. And on top of this, leading the league in home runs up in the Pacific Northwest, playing a critical defensive position and catcher. Cal Raleigh won the 2024 Platinum Glove as the best defensive player in the American League. Like, this is an insane accomplishment to be the best power hitter and the best defensive player and is not a catcher.
Katie Nolan
Catchers don't really hit.
Brady
Hell yeah. Because it's so demanding. Physically. You're squatting up and down every game. You have to focus. You have to know everything the pitchers are doing. You have to be able to call their game. You have to know all the scouting reports for all the hitters. You have more meetings before games than anybody else, which gives you less time to just prep for hitting. And he's still doing it. It is incredible. It is on pace for one of the greatest seasons by a catcher of all time. Just one of the generally most impressive power hitting seasons ever. Fans love him. Kids are in Seattle wearing big dumper jerseys on their back. They are for sale at the team store. This guy.
Katie Nolan
I mean, if they're not selling shorts that say it across the butt like Juicy did, then what are we even doing? If you don't have shorts that say big dumper across your butt in your team store. What's up?
Isabella
Yeah.
Brady
Hell yeah. Celebrate. Big Dump. Like, this is the summer of Big Dumper. This is a star everybody can rally behind. Damn it. I hate I just made that pun. Rally behind Cal. Rally.
Katie Nolan
He's got a rally behind. Yeah. Very exciting. Cal Raleigh. Very exciting.
Brady
And the Mariners, like it's a team sport. The Mariners are three games over.500. Their second place in the American League West. Weren't projected to like be a postseason team, but they're making a run at it because they have, outside of maybe Aaron Judge, the second best offensive player in the league.
Katie Nolan
I'm always rooting for Seattle. I love them. I love their fans. They've been through a lot and I think they deserve it. I feel bad because I get hyped on them every year and then they find a new way to not get it done. And then I feel bad that, like I was like, this is it, this is it. It wasn't it. But this is exciting and I love a fun nickname that you came to naturally. It had nothing to do with you. And it was not surgically enhanced.
Brady
No BBL for Cal Raleigh.
Katie Nolan
No, no, no. But he may inspire some and I think that's fine too. If you want your dumper to be a little bigger, whatever, go for it.
Brady
Mariners have never won a championship and they've had some of the like best characters we've had in the league in like two generations. They had Griffey.
Katie Nolan
I know they've great colors too. They've always got good fit.
Brady
Ichiro, Randy Johnson. I'm rooting for stadium's great.
Katie Nolan
I did, I did, I did Stavros's podcast and you know he takes calls and this was a couple weeks ago. It was right after the Orioles when you were talking about how they were on a three game win streak. I think it was right after you guys beat us a couple times. And. And a caller called in and said that he used to be a Mariners fan but he couldn't take it anymore. So at the beginning of the season he switched to being an Orioles fan and now the Orioles stink and what should he do? And aside from the fact that it was an embarrassing. I was embarrassed for the guy that he called in the clip and the episode only went up like this week. So now people are so confused because they were like you were a Mariners fan and you left watching all, Cal Raleigh is doing what Cal Raleigh is doing. And so the guy got absolutely torn apart, which good he did deserve. But I do think the episode should have come with a little asterisk that was like this was recorded like a month and a half ago. Also, don't know if you guys saw, but I accidentally matched his couch. So not my best look. For Star's podcast. I was the day I decided to go monochrome. Same color shirt and pants, which in real life they were a little bit different on camera. They read exactly the same color. So I looked like I had on a jumpsuit. And then I showed up to Stavros's house where he has a cream colored couch cover. And so it's just a float. I am just a floating Liverpool jacket in this very popular podcast clip. So I'm out here doing work to try to get to drum up publicity.
Brady
Were you on the same episode as the mayor?
Katie Nolan
Say I'm not. No, no, I wasn't. But shout out. I mean he's not the mayor yet. He's just the Democratic candidate.
Brady
I mean he did star rose.
Katie Nolan
We could talk about that for hours.
Brady
Primary. So like you're on the right path.
Katie Nolan
Did you do the whole podcast or did he just do like an endorsement.
Brady
A video, a little moment? He took calls because he wasn't on that same couch.
Katie Nolan
I don't think he took calls. Oh good. Cristiano Ronaldo news, you guys. CR7 my fave. Remember when he came out and said that he was done with. Didn't he say that he was done with Saudi Arabian okay. Cristiano Ronaldo has ended the uncertainty surrounding his future by officially signing a new contract with existing club Al Nassar. The two and a half year contract Ronaldo signed with the Saudi pro league, effectively legitimizing the country as a genuine option for big name internationals, was due to finish at the end of this month. In a video posted online by the club, featuring the caption the story continues to Ronaldo could be seen walking along a palm tree lined white sandy beach and uttering Al Nassar forever. A new two year contract runs until the end of the 2026, 27 campaign, by which point Ronaldo will have surpassed his 42nd birthday. Shout out. Dan just turned 42 and be in his 25th season as a professional player. In a nod towards his previous comments, Ronaldo followed up the announcement with a social media post which read, a new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let's make history together. How is that a nod to his previous comments?
Brady
I'm assuming he's.
Katie Nolan
Did he say it was his comment about chapter. Was he like we close this chapter of my. Yeah. Okay, so then that doesn't make. I hate this guy. Reportedly, Ronaldo's last deal was paying him roughly $200 million a year.
Isabella
Wow.
Brady
So that ties the whole story together. That makes everything make sense.
Katie Nolan
Thank God. It's about time he gets a paycheck.
Brady
Would you feel better about this and about live golf and about everything if they just came out like I think some of the Liv golf guys did, like very few of them, but some of them said, you know what, this is all About a giant pile of money.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. I think that, like, I know it's obviously very complicated and geopolitical, but I just feel like it's. They make it difficult for you to say anything about. If you take the money, it's effectively buying that you're not going to say anything critical of them because that's the source of the money. And so I just think sports is pretty good at letting people go, hey, he's getting a paycheck. Hey, she's getting a paycheck. Hey, get yours. Go get your money for me. And this is just my personal. And again, this is my podcast where I'm allowed to say what I think. Right. So for me, personally, that would be a line. I don't think I would. If Saudi Arabia was like, we would like to give you money to do this podcast. No offense, and I'm sorry to both of you, and to Chris, who's not here today, I would turn it down because it's just not somebody I'd like to get into bed with. They, like, just started letting women drive, like, not. Not all that long ago. So for me, you see, which is why I don't think they would be investing in this podcast to begin with. It would be kind of crazy if they did, but it just is like watching the WWE do events in Riyadh where the. I think the first one, the female wrestlers didn't even go, maybe. But then I saw one where they were like, they had to be fully covered. And you're just. It's like. It's just an interesting. It's like, why? For what? What are we? And then you look, they show the crowd shots, and it's all like, the crown prince. And you're like, this is. You want to do wrestling for this? Doesn't this feel weird? Doesn't this make this feel weird? But, you know, to each their own. So at least Ronaldo has, what, the number one YouTube channel. And this was my issue when I found out that he had, like, YouTube and was launching this channel and blah, blah, blah. It's like you're. For a guy whose statements are. A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let's make history together. You clearly don't have interesting things to say, so you should not be able to capitalize on the revenue stream that goes to people who have interesting things to say and say them interestingly. Okay. Taylor Swift was at Tight End University, a thing I didn't really even know about, but Dan did, because he loves George Kittle. And it's a Travis Kelce, George Kittle and somebody else, they all get together and they do this tight end event where tight ends across the league are invited to come tighten up their ends. I don't know, whatever it is. Tight ends. Do they together a tight end university. Yeah, he should be. And Taylor Swift was there. There was pictures of her throughout the week, weekend, whatever it is. I think it's a week. And she. Her with Travis Kelsey. Obviously everybody was going nuts. And then last night or two nights ago, she performed. She got up on stage and performed an acoustic version of her popular song Shake it off. At the tail end of the concert for the tight ends and friends from country music star Kane Brown. I thought that was sweet that she came to his thing and I thought it was really cute. There was a picture of him like rooting her, like enjoying her being out in the spotlight at his event, which I thought was really cute. Did you see that, Isabella?
Isabella
I did see that she was on stage. I did not know the context of where she was though.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it's. And it's still kind of vague to me. Tight end university.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
You know Brady, can you speak?
Brady
It's like a workout session. Like the. A bunch of guys who play the same position get together and they have like a common bond. They do specific workouts for their thing and it's kind of like players started it and guys across the league come and work out together and then they. They made like night outings that became like a bigger and bigger thing and they have like entertainment aspects to it now.
Katie Nolan
They just.
Brady
Kane Brown came to entertain the troops and I was expecting a full.
Katie Nolan
Like entertain the troops is a crazy thing to say.
Brady
Are you implying these guys are not putting their life on the line to go catch 5 yard out routes?
Katie Nolan
You know, it isn't exactly a USO tour for him to come do tight end university.
Luke Littler
It's.
Katie Nolan
But anyway it's. Why don't they do this for every position? You know why?
Isabella
Yeah, we're like the long snapper university.
Katie Nolan
That's right where Demi Lovato is performing.
Brady
You know, Rick Lovato can get this together and. And create his own thing.
Katie Nolan
I think he should. I think he should shake it off. Shake it off. Is there a video of it? Yeah, I actually don't think I watched the actual video. I only saw pictures. But it.
Isabella
I'm trying to imagine an acoustic version though of Shake it off because that's a very like upbeat song and so I'm trying to imagine.
Katie Nolan
And then Kane Brown. You know who that is?
Isabella
No.
Katie Nolan
Oh, yeah, he's a Brady. You're our.
Brady
I mean, he's a famous country singer, but in that circle only, like, he doesn't really exist out of it, but he's pretty big deal within, like country music.
Katie Nolan
Oh, okay. What's his song?
Brady
Now you're. I couldn't name the song.
Katie Nolan
That's like literally the first question. Well, now you're above my pay grade if you know it's his music. It's one of his songs.
Brady
And trucks and dirt roads.
Katie Nolan
Wow, this is discriminatory. You're being really prejudice. You think all they sing about someone.
Brady
Who grew up with boots and a truck on a dirt road? These are my people. Yeah, I have no idea. What the hell.
Katie Nolan
Did we leave that in that time you went on that whole rant about where you grew up?
Brady
Chris did.
Katie Nolan
I'm so glad. Whatever's wrong with this episode, Brady edited it so you can let us know.
Isabella
I'll check the Discord server and be like, who the fuck edited this video? That's. I mean, this episode. That's crazy.
Katie Nolan
Please do. Speaking of tight ends, Tony Gonzalez's baby mama is getting married this weekend to Jeff Bezos. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, the couple that made us all believe in love, is tying the knot in a rumored to be somewhere between 45 and $55 million ceremony with 200 guests, they're saying. But it's a very hush hush guest list. My question is, do you guys think Tony Gonzalez on the 200?
Brady
Yes.
Katie Nolan
I say yes.
Brady
Tony says, been invited to the yacht. He's fairly famous.
Katie Nolan
Not only been invited, he has gone on to the yacht. And they have a child together, so I assume the child's going to be at the wedding. He's a model. Their son, his name is Nico Gonzalez.
Isabella
How old is he? Because I'm imagining 24. He's imagining a baby.
Katie Nolan
No, no, no.
Isabella
This was a baby model.
Katie Nolan
Because between Tony and Jeff, she was at least married one other time that I know of, to Whitefield. What's that guy's name? Whitesell. He was an agent, I believe. Jeff Whitesell. Which is actually how she met Jeff Bezos. Maybe not Jeff Weitzel. Maybe it's something else. Patrick. She was married to Patrick Weitzel, who was friends with Jeff Bezos. That's how she met him. Jeff Bezos was married and she was married and they had sex.
Brady
That doesn't make sense.
Katie Nolan
I know.
Isabella
They had that in common.
Katie Nolan
And then, yes, the sex. And then they being married each. And then they each got divorced and Then now they're getting married. They had the affair in 2018. They got divorces in 2019, and they're engaged in 2023. And they're getting married in 2023.
Brady
To say allegedly. Because I feel like he's got good lawyers.
Katie Nolan
Sorry. Allegedly. Allegedly. They allegedly had an affair, but they were both married and then ended up getting married to each other.
Brady
Allegedly.
Katie Nolan
Not allegedly. They're getting married to each other and they were confirmed both married.
Isabella
Allegedly.
Katie Nolan
So scared. Brady is so scared. I'm not going to be able to get my Amazon prime anymore.
Brady
My favorite headline from this is Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez forge ahead with Venice wedding after activists threatened to block a canal with inflatable crocodiles.
Katie Nolan
Yep. They said they were going to fill it up with inflatable crocodiles so that they couldn't bring their yachts in because they're very afraid of the. That all of their local travel things will be overwhelmed by A, private jets of all these people that are flying in for this wedding in Venice, and B, super yachts. That of people who will be riding in their yacht to Venice. So they. There's been some venue changes. There's a lot of secrecy. There's a group that's protesting it in Venice.
Brady
The irony here is that if I need to get a lot of inflatable crocodiles within the next two days, like, there's only one way to do it. Like I order them off Amazon. Just going. It's going right back to the Man's own on purpose.
Katie Nolan
This is kind of funny.
Isabella
Check out a target.
Katie Nolan
Where else would you get them?
Brady
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
How many could you get, though? You'd have to go to multiple targets. Yeah. I just wanted to make sure everybody was aware of the fact that when she was the host of so youo Think youk Can Dance. Lauren Sanchez, first season of so youo Think youk Can Dance. She was the host quickly replaced and never brought back. But when she was the host was talking to a girl, one of the contestants and said how cool that your dad is here. And it was her fiance. So I just wanted to say best of luck in your nuptials, Lauren. The evolution of your face is one we will stay tuned for. Okay. Other random thing Katie saw that has no real information attached to it but she wants to talk about. That's a segment. Is Lamello Ball getting tattooed by five people at the same time. Is this cool or is this cringe?
Isabella
Is there something in between we can choose?
Katie Nolan
Nope.
Isabella
Then I'm gonna go with cringe because why are you doing that to yourself.
Katie Nolan
I guess it would be more efficient, time wise. I imagine he also feels it proves some sort of. I can withstand this much pain. I'm too ticklish. I know tattoos don't tickle, but five people go at the. I can't. That's not. Why would you do this?
Brady
I couldn't just have five people touching me at once.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, no thanks.
Brady
Just swatting them away.
Katie Nolan
That's too.
Isabella
Yeah.
Brady
And like, what if bothers me worse than the needles?
Katie Nolan
I know. It's. The whole thing is just. It doesn't seem. I mean, I guess the efficiency of time is the only positive. It doesn't seem like cost effective. It doesn't seem like, you know, you could just get these all done. I don't know, man.
Isabella
Clear up your schedule. Like.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. How busy are you? Lamello ball. What have you got to do that you can't just do these in rapid succession? That you have to do them all at once. Jonathan Toews is coming back to hockey. We don't have to talk about this, but he played for the Isabella. I'll teach you. He played for the Blackhawks. He was their captain ever since I believe his second year in the league. He was. Was their captain from 08 to 2023. He was rookie of the year in 2007. He's the second youngest captain in NHL history at the time with Crosby being the first. He was the Stanley Cup MVP in 2010. He also won the cup in 13 and 15. And then in 2021, he found out that he had threw like an antibody test. He found out he had Covid the year before and then he like kind of struggled with it. And then I think in like the 22 season, halfway through, he like went away with like long Covid symptoms and then sat out for 23 and 24, but just signed a one year deal with his hometown Winnipeg jets for the 2526 season. So it's a big comeback. No idea what to expect there, but excited to hear that he's, you know, I hate him on like a sports level. I have sports hate for him, but a ton of respect and so interested to see. Congratulations to him for coming back. Also. These are just quick things we're running through. Chris Robinson won the 400 meter hurdles. Did anybody see that video?
Brady
No. From the Black Crows?
Isabella
No.
Katie Nolan
No. Isabella, can you Google Chris Robinson? 400 meter hurdles.
Isabella
Okay.
Katie Nolan
And if there's a video, would it be okay if you watched it?
Isabella
Oh, I see something blurred out. I see something blurred out. Okay. His Penis falls out of his shorts as he.
Katie Nolan
What?
Isabella
No. Oh, they're probably not going to show me the video though.
Katie Nolan
I mean, I've certainly seen it.
Isabella
No, that sucks right away too.
Katie Nolan
And then he had to do hurdles. I mean, it was fully out.
Isabella
Oh man.
Katie Nolan
How does that happen?
Isabella
Feel so bad. I know. He must have like tighter like running shorts.
Katie Nolan
Crazy. Brady's got thoughts.
Isabella
I think Brady's just frustrated.
Katie Nolan
He appears to have some thoughts. First of all, congrats. Congrats to him. So also on winning, because it's like I don't.
Brady
I'm like, how does that. And then I'm like, okay. I guess I could imagine how. Good for you, dude.
Katie Nolan
Right? Not a problem. Most probably have to worry about. But I mean it really does. On a real level. It has to suck to have like to win and be known as the guy who. Whose dick was out.
Brady
I mean for hurdles as far as your dick.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Brady
I mean, at least that's not like the reason you lost, right?
Katie Nolan
Imagine if your dick knocked a hurdle over. Wow.
Brady
Painful failure on so many levels.
Katie Nolan
But on a real level, it does have to suck for everybody to know your name and it to be because we saw your penis. Now again, if that were to at least it was the type of penis that it is, you know, at least it wasn't, you know, micro or something. But I guess if it was, you wouldn't have this problem. So which would you rather be? The winning hurdles guy with a micro penis no one knows about or the winning hurdles guy and everyone's senior penis? It's a tough.
Brady
You got to make sure people can avoid googling this. His name is Chris Robinson.
Katie Nolan
Chris Robinson, which is probably a tough to Google name. It's. There's. It seems like a common name, but this is probably going to be top of the Google searches. Isabella's looking at her screen still for like kind of a long time. So I'm sure sort of wondering what's going on.
Isabella
I'm like, where's the video?
Brady
Actually are looking for black Crows songs and you're like Chris Robinson. No, that's not what I want. No, no, no.
Katie Nolan
Okay, we've got. I want to do one voicemail, but we can do that after we have a very exciting guest joining us. If you've been following along the casuals journey, ironically enough, it's mostly been Chris who's been pushing this agenda. And Chris is out today because he's taking his kids to see the Wiggles. Is that what it is? So he can't be here which he's devastated about. But we, the US Darts Masters are happening in New York City this weekend at Madison Square Garden at the theater June 27th at 7pm June 28th, 7:30pm you can also watch them on the. As we told you on Tuesday, it is an event featuring eight of the PDC Professional Darts Corporation guys, high ranking guys up against eight North American representatives. It's an exciting competition. We're trying to get into darts. Chris really is pushing the darts agenda. Ow. It's sharp but it's fun. And I feel like, you know, darts are a sport. I don't know about you guys, but I've always played it with a beer in my hand. And it's fascinating to me to watch crowds get rowdy. Obviously they can drink. But the darts guys aren't fascinating to.
Brady
Watch because we all have a frame of reference of how good we are at darts. Everybody's picked up a dart and thrown it and missed or like put a hole in their parents wall. Maybe I've done it many times but like to see the accuracy of how good these guys are is insane. Just like. And they're standing at the real distance, whereas I'm like five feet away. And.
Katie Nolan
What'S the real distance? I didn't know I'm cheating when I play darts. When I go to a bar, I stand where they put the line and they put the line somewhere wrong.
Brady
You're telling me the official line is like eight feet away?
Katie Nolan
Oh, I don't think I'm standing that far away. What bar has the space?
Isabella
At bars there's a line where you're.
Katie Nolan
Supposed to stand sometimes. Like tape on the ground.
Isabella
I've never seen that.
Katie Nolan
Damn.
Isabella
So you're not really a. I'm not really a darts person at the bar. I'm more of a pool person at the bar. But maybe I'll get. This will get me into darts more, you know. Yeah, Luke gave some great tips.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. So very exciting. Chris has been hyping up this young guy, 18 year old Luke Littler. Luke the Nuke. He obviously had not a. We talked about the World cup where he teamed up with Luke Humphries and they, they, they got knocked out early, but that's okay. Again, this kid's 18 years old so he has plenty of time to be. He's already had an incredibly impressive career. He is the reigning World Darts champion. He's the reigning UK Open Grand Slam of Darts and World Series finals champion. He won the 2024 Premier League in his debut. He's the winner of two World Series titles in Bahrain and Poland. In 2024, he's was the World Youth Champion at age 16. He's had like three televised. What's the thing? Chris always calls it the, like when you throw nine darter. Nine daughters. He's thrown a nine Dada a bunch of times, which I'm half understanding what that is, but very exciting. He joins us now for a. For a brief minute. We get to speak with Luke the Nuke Littler. Luke, thank you so much for being here.
Luke Littler
Oh, good. All good.
Katie Nolan
You are in town for the bet. 365 U.S. darts Masters, which everybody can find June 27th and 28th on Peacock. First question, how do you get darts through security?
Luke Littler
We don't. We just put them in our suitcases and just hopefully our suitcase arrives.
Katie Nolan
I was gonna say, because then if you're. If your bags don't come, you have. No, you don't carry like four of them in your. In your bag on your carry on.
Luke Littler
No, we can't, because these are point as like a weapon.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I guess it makes sense, but at the same time, it seems prejudice to me. You were recently awarded the MBE. A member of the Order. Order of the British. Can you explain this to an American? You're not knighted, right? No, but it's like. But it's like a step. It's like a step below that.
Luke Littler
That's all right. Yeah, I think there's. I think NBA and then you have like, obs, But I know MBE is like because you've done so well in your sport. So that's why myself has got one.
Katie Nolan
And I'm very happy at 18 years old. That feels. I don't know if you're the youngest that it's ever happened to, but that seems remarkably young to be recognized by the British Empire.
Luke Littler
Yeah, I don't think it's. I don't think it's quite normal.
Katie Nolan
It's very exciting. You've got a lot of accomplishments from a very young age. You started darts. According to Wikipedia, you picked up darts at 18 months. Is that true or a myth?
Luke Littler
Yeah, it was magnetic darts.
Katie Nolan
Oh, okay. That makes a lot more sense. I couldn't picture a baby with a dart, but magnetic darts makes more sense.
Luke Littler
Proper darts was when I was three or four.
Katie Nolan
Okay, that's still dangerous. That actually is still very dangerous. What. How. How do your parents allow you to play with darts at three or four?
Luke Littler
I don't know. I must have been very good.
Katie Nolan
I don't think I was even allowed to have hands at Three or four, never mind pick up sharp objects. Yeah. You started at the Youth Academy at 8. The first thing I thought of is, like, youth sports. There's a lot of injuries in youth. Dart darts. What are the injuries? Are they kind of gnarly? Do people take, like, darts to the, to the face or do people get, like, impaled by darts? Or is that just. It's. Everybody stays out of the way.
Luke Littler
Some players can get injuries with the shoulder or their arm, because we do, we do throw loads, thousands of darts each year. But that's why some players have like. Like go to, like, physios and stuff, stuff like that.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. So nobody's like getting a dart to the arm or anything.
Luke Littler
No one's hit by a dart unless it bounces out. Yeah, but yeah, some players have physio, but for myself, I've never had any sort of injury, so touch wood. I'll never.
Katie Nolan
I mean, touch all the wood. You're also, you, you're very young. There's a lot of time left for you to get injured. Your body doesn't know what an injury is yet, but trust me, me, when you hit probably your 30s, everything hurts all the time. It's just something for you to look forward to. Speaking of the fact that you are only 18, a man who has been described online as your rival. But I don't want to put that on you if you don't care about this guy. But Nathan Aspinall accused you of being a lightweight when it comes to drinking beer. Again, you're 18, so here in the States you can't even drink a beer. So I would say it's fair if you're a lightweight. But do you feel that you are a lightweight?
Luke Littler
No, I wouldn't. But I've not. I've not gone out and had had a drink with the guys as of yet. I just kind of like, after we've played darts, if, say if I go to the final or we go to the final and win it, it's going to be 11, half 11. And then by the time you're done, media spoke to the guys about how you played and you're excited that you won. You're done for half 12 and then I just go back to the hotel room. Yeah, I'm sure, I'm sure I'll get out with all, all the players soon.
Katie Nolan
Again, you have the rest of your life to both be injured and drink a ton of beers, so I don't think you should be in any sort of rush. You know, for most of us Beer and dart darts do not exist separately. I feel like, at least in America, it's. Darts are something we play when we're drinking out at a bar. So I wonder if you would be better or worse at darts if you drank beer while playing it.
Luke Littler
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Do you have any sense of. Have you ever drank beer and played darts? Not professionally, obviously, but like gone to a pub and played darts while drinking a beer? Not really fascinating to me.
Luke Littler
I'm just. Yeah, I just, I just don't drink.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, cool. That. I'm not being sarcastic. That is very cool. What's a piece of advice you could give to the most casual darts player? Like, what are we all doing wrong when we throw darts? Because I stink. But if I want to be good and I can't, I can't have like nine things in my head, what should I be thinking and focusing on when I throw my dart?
Luke Littler
You've just gotta focus on what you, what you're going, going for. If it's treble 20.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, that's what I'm going for. A triple 20. Yes.
Luke Littler
If you're down, if you get down to double 10 or more double four. Concentrate. Yeah. You can only concentrate on. I wouldn't say one thing because maybe it's three things because you might have to be going for a different thing with each dart, but most of the time it's mainly just treble 20.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. And you're just looking at the 20 and thinking 20 and then you just throw it. That's it? That's all, that's all it takes?
Luke Littler
Yeah. Just hits it.
Katie Nolan
Did. Has darts made you good at math? Because I feel like you got to do quick math.
Luke Littler
I wouldn't say so. Obviously it does help, but because I've been playing for years and years, it just, it all adds up. And you just. As soon as you throw one dart, within not even a second, you just, you know what to go for next.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Again, another thing I can't relate to. Do you think you would be better throwing a dart with your non dominant hand than I would be with my dominant hand?
Luke Littler
I don't know, I've. I've tried to throw my left hand and it's non existent.
Katie Nolan
Really? Like you don't even hit the board at all.
Luke Littler
I can hit the board, but it just, it goes where it's where it wants to go.
Katie Nolan
Well, if you can hit the board, I think you're already better than I am with my dominant hand. How late? And this, I'm asking this for a friend. How late do you Think somebody can start darts and get really, really good at it? Like, how old can you be to pick up darts as a, as a sport?
Luke Littler
I don't think there's really an age to start. I think if you're good enough at whatever age, then just go for it. So don't know, obviously these older guys, I don't know how, how long ago they started. I'd imagine 20s, mid-20s. But really, if you're good enough, you can start at any age.
Katie Nolan
Okay, that's good. That's promising for me. We are a sports podcast for fans. We're all about the fans. So I'm curious if there is, if you're a sports fan, like what your favorite sport is and what, like if you have a team that you follow?
Luke Littler
Yeah, Football. Manchester United.
Katie Nolan
Oh, okay. All right. I'm a Liverpool fan. So do you hate me? Is that how our relationship is? Is that hatred?
Luke Littler
No, you're okay.
Katie Nolan
I think we used to hate you. But I feel like more recently I, I dislike Manchester City. Yeah, but that's, you know, because I'm just a newer fan. And also you're. You're a gamer, right? You play, you play a lot of what, FIFA?
Luke Littler
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, that's cool. Xbox.
Luke Littler
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Oh, yeah, look it, it's right on your shirt. How silly of me. Xbox gives you money. I give PlayStation all of my money, so that's how that works. Okay. And then we have one question from our fans. They want to know, are there other things that you are good at at throwing?
Luke Littler
I don't think there's. Don't think there's many things like other sports. Does it have to be sports or just.
Katie Nolan
No, I mean, you could. Are you good at throwing? Like if you crumple up a piece of paper and try to toss it into a trash can, are you good at that?
Luke Littler
Yeah, probably.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Luke Littler
I'll probably throw my Xbox controller when I lose. Maybe.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I could throw it and not hit the tv. That's exactly what I was aiming for. All right, perfect. Well, Luke, that's all we got. You. You. Good luck out there. Congrats on everything. You have an amazing career for 18 years old. And we are so excited to see you have gotten us into darts. So we are excited to see what you do and where you go and thank you for coming and chatting with us.
Luke Littler
Thank you.
Katie Nolan
Okay. That was cool. That was cool. To skype with an 18 year old. Haven't done that and just also called it Skype when it's clearly zoom. Skype is no longer a Company. He probably doesn't even know what Skype is. He was born in 2007.
Brady
I feel personally attacked.
Katie Nolan
Hurts my feelings that this really successful.
Brady
Adult was born in 2007.
Katie Nolan
Incredibly successful. Already an MBE. A thing I definitely knew about before this.
Brady
I should go win a world championship.
Katie Nolan
I know about it. Yeah, yeah, get on that. He said no age. You can start whenever you want to. You were the friend I was asking on behalf of. It's about time you get your darts. Should we look? We haven't done a. Did you see that in a while? And I think we've gotten a couple voicemails. Isabella, you want to play one for us here to round out this pod?
Isabella
Yes, this is. Yep. This is from Kyle from Indiana.
Kyle
Hey, this is Kyle from Indiana. And. Oh, my God, did you just see that? Chaga Hounds are down by one point to the New England Free Jacks in the Eastern Conference finals in Major League Rugby. So they're in overtime or extra time. I don't know what the term is. I just started watching rugby and Chicago's about to make a kick. If they make it, they move on to the league finals but miss it. They lose. They go home. That sucks. Well, for me, anyway. So they've got the ball on the tee, the kicker set, he's about to step up, and then everything freezes up due to technical difficulties. I gotta wait several minutes for the string to come back because ESPN is espn. And then I'm informed that not only did Chicago miss the kick, but it went right into the post and bounced off. So not quite a double doink like with the Bears, but, man, what a drop kick to the heart. So I'd ask again if you just saw that, but I guess nobody did.
Katie Nolan
Love you. Mean it.
Kyle
Bye.
Katie Nolan
Now listen, now, we're not a podcast that wants to slander any sports network, but I didn't. He did. You know he did. He called in and said that. And that's his experience. And who would I be to silence him? So, Kyle, I'm very sorry that that happened to you. It's a very funny timing for the dropout of a stream, which I think, as all sports fans have experienced, especially.
Brady
Having to watch a lot of sports these days from lacrosse tournaments on the sideline. Yeah, it's the worst.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, like when a. When the game. Whenever there's like a ESPN on abc, I'm like, oh, I hate this. Because the ABC stream is gonna suck. There's just. No, you have to watch it on tv. So does this mean that de facto I mean, I know because I'm really tuned into Major League Rugby, but that New England.
Brady
Are you gonna get like one chest puffed up and talk shit just because New England has another championship?
Katie Nolan
I would never do that.
Brady
Okay, then.
Katie Nolan
Yes, that's right, baby. That's right. The New England Free Jacks. I've always said I'm the freest jack there is, so they're going to the championship, though that doesn't mean they've won the championship, did they? Reigning champs, the New England Free Jacks, beat the Chicago Hounds 21 to 20. They played the Houston Saber Cats on Saturday at 2 on ESPN2. And then in parentheses it says maybe.
