And so I'm not updating the file on my opinion on Rafi based off of anything happening right now. I appreciate everything he did for my team, and I'm pissed he doesn't get to do that for my team anymore. And that sucks. I'm happy, I guess, that it went to. It didn't. He didn't go to the Florida Panthers of the. He's not a Yankee, you know, he's not that. The Florida Panthers are my Yankees, and I guess we'll get to that. And they were leaving games early and then having to try to come back in. It's like the. I critique them as fans, but. But, like, now they've won two Stanley Cups in a row, and I have to just go like, okay, you guys, you win. You win. Good. I'm happy for you. Brad Martian looks happy with a cup, and I think he deserves it. And he's so much fun when. When he's on his I just won the cup tour. You guys are really going to love this. So. And. And good. Hopefully one of these catches fire. Yeah. Hopefully one of these kindlings turns into a full blown fire. And hopefully not all at the same time, because now we have a different problem. If we could get the two of them in the same inductee class would actually be. Could potentially be the first step of the romantic comedy that I've written in my head where Ellie and Gritty are in love. Because I do think, and I don't know anything about how Ellie identifies. I was like, what does that mean? It. Then there's an AI te. It comes up in your text messages. Have you used these with brands where it'll say, like, it's Home Depot and you're chatting with them? And I go, hi, my. Here's my order number. Where is it? And it goes, hi, can I have your phone number? And I said, no, you're texting me. I said, no, you have my order number.

And they were like, well, we need to look up your order. Can I have your phone number? And I said, you're texting me and you have my. What's the point of the order number? Yeah, it's to look up the order.

Because in the NBA, whatever a star, you do that to Steph Curry, they would come down on them. So I think that the league should come in. But like that athletes, the idea that the other, you know, girls in the league want to beat her up a little bit, it's like that little bit part of the game.

It was. It was called Coupled. It was on Fox. It only had one season. It didn't take off. But it was Mark Burnett who did, like, Survivor and all these big shows. And it aired on Fox and my friend was on. He was in a band at the time and he was like, in it. And then they did, like, visiting family, and everyone's like, your mom's here, your cousin, and then it's like, your boys here. And I'm like, ah, what's up, Alex?

How does it work then? Because in those moments, I always thought, like, how do they pick who's going to come in?

[Isabella]

He called me About a month before. He's like, we're not going to talk for. For a month. But just so you know, we had to write down a person.

If, like, an emergency contact, if.

[Isabella]

If they have someone come out and see us, we're gonna write down a person. And I put you down. Would you do it? And I was like, absolutely. And I get a call from a producer, and they flew me to Anguilla, like, in the Caribbean.

Whoa.

They put you in a hotel. I'm partying with everyone's, like, mom and cousin. And, like, you know, like, you still.

[Katie Nolan]

Keep in touch with any of these people? That would be very.

[Isabella]

If you're like, we're on a group text. I don't know. Know. That lady's mom was really nice.

A couple, like, we. They'll follow me on Instagram, you know, and. And. And so I'll see people's stuff pop up. I don't really talk to any of them, but, yeah, just got like, hammered on pina coladas for one night.

The best experience with reality tv, I think you don't want to be on it. You don't want people picking apart your decisions romantically, but you'll pop in and be the friend.

Yeah. And then I like that either go on the show. Like, what do you think? I'd, like, interview both of them. I'm like, I don't know. I think he's ready to settle down. I literally. Literally sounded like that. And I'm like, I think they're ready to settle down. You know, I think it might be real love.

I mean, it seemed reasonable.

How long did they stay together?

About a week after the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

It was really meant to be.

Yeah. He even took me, like, for a walk. He's like. He's like, they only let me have the mic off for five minutes. He's like, yeah, who cares about this? We're doing whatever. Let's crush a Corona on the beach. Awesome.

So, folks, reality tv, love. Not real.

It's not real. I did ask the producers because I was like, is it fake, though? And they were like.

They were like, look, because they're gonna tell you.

Well, they told me an answer that. That satiated me is they were like, none of these people are good actors. Right.

We don't write stuff for actors to do. And they were like, but we do meticulously manipulate every situation that we have a good idea of what may happen in them, or at least that will get, you know.

Yeah.

A big moment.

Like, they think it's real. The. The. It's almost like the. The people that are participating in it. To make the best version of it, the producers need to move invisibly.

[Isabella]

Yeah.

So that they still think it's really happening the way it's happening.

Yeah.

So that's what's portrayed on tv. Because you're right. They can't.

It's the Truman Show. It's. It's literally like, we're going to put you in these situations, and then you might, you know, a month later be like, like, holy hell, that was not me.

How far out are we from the reality show that does something that makes us go like, oh, Jesus Christ, I don't think we should be putting that on. The. Like, is the.

Like, they canceled Fear Factor back in the day. But where's.

And look what it gave us. But no, the. Now we're on this timeline. The. Like, I think there was one, if you want to go Google, where the. They were, like, making citizenship.

This is more outwardly, like, compete against other people who need a visa, and the winner will get to stay in the.

Well, I think that there's a lot of thing. I think that, like, part of getting older is actually realizing there are things to be afraid of, a lot of stuff. And, like, everything will, like, kind of technically be okay until it's not, but that doesn't mean that everything is better. And so sometimes you're. Sometimes you are being a grandma, and it's just your time is for you. And. And, you know, life moves on. Your grandparents probably think, you know, so they don't exactly. So they're like, what's a podcast?

They got asked.

Yeah. SHE talks into a microphone.

Fear Factor was still on when they left, so they have no idea what's going on.

So there's a bit of that. But, like, there are also things that are moving in a direction that's it's appropriate to be concerned about, I think.

And one of those things. Donna Kelce cast in Traitors. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. But she is actually in Traitors. You said it was hard for me you to have sports and also reality tv. They put it together for you.

What's Traitors?

Traders is one of the newer ones. It is. And here's the thing. I watched a season and a half of it. I'm still going to struggle to tell you what the concept is.

It's basically an allstar of reality show cast members. But also sometimes it's like, influence. You could probably be on it if you wanted.

[Isabella]

I'm open to it. Hit me up. It's like, I don't think it's a spam email. So you got to prove yourself.

You got to really go through the right channel. Channels. It's like they gather all these people. So it's like, oh, this girl was on the Bachelorette and, oh, that's Bob the Drag Queen. And, oh, this Donna Kelce, I believe. Michael Rapaports. On this upcoming season, a choice was made. And then they have you. They, like, basically. Remember in, like, elementary school when you'd play a game where everybody put their heads down and, like, a guy got tapped and he was the killer?

Yeah.

I think they basically do that with them. They pick, like, two or three of them to be the traitors.

[Isabella]

Yeah.

[Katie Nolan]

Then they perform challenges during the day. Group challenges that don't really mean anything. Just gives them something to do. And then they sort of. They have to sit around a table and vote for who they think is a traitor. So then at that table, basically, sometimes the traders are pretending to not be traitors. People are thinking they're catching traders in a lie. It's like a. It's as little of a structure as you could possibly need to get all these people in a room and create drama.

It's funny how much I love sports but hate games.

[Katie Nolan]

Yeah.

[Isabella]

Because, like, I hear all this is a bad game.

[Katie Nolan]

It's a stupid game of Traders. Haters is flawed.

[Isabella]

Maybe I don't.

For some reason, it produces a pretty decent TV show.

I have to be, like, bought in. Like, I'll be like, I don't want to play some game. But then, like, if I get into a board game or something, I can get like.

So you don't like rules is what that's telling me. You don't like learning rules.

Nobody yeah, but once, you know, once.

I know them, then all of a sudden you're like.

It's fine. I don't. I. I don't get. The algorithm doesn't send me like their podcast clips or anything. So I don't think as much Kelsey as other people. Kind of out of the Swifty thing. Quick timeline was that. I feel like 20, 23. Lyles. Noah Lyles, the. The 100 meter guy said that American Sports League shouldn't deem their annual winners world champions because they're just the winners of the American sports. And then Tyreek Hill took exception to that. Like he doesn't have on that being.

The dumbest comment of all time. Because all the best players from all around the. To play in the NFL.

[Katie Nolan]

Yeah. That's the argument that you could make if you used words.

[Isabella]

Yes.

[Katie Nolan]

And Tyreek Hills was, I'm faster than you, basically. I want to race you.

[Isabella]

That is a more fun take, which, you know.

Okay. And so then February of this year, they announced that they were going to race. Lyles and Hill announced their plan to race each other. They had yet to pick a date or distance, which was interesting. And now it's not happening anymore. And it was supposed to happen this weekend, and it's not happening anymore.

And there a bunch of Miami cops with radar guns.

[Katie Nolan]

Noah Lyles said he. He's citing personal reasons. We were very deep into creating the event. He's at that sport beach in Cannes, France, where everybody is except us.

[Isabella]

I didn't even know about that.

It's like a new. It feels like the new south by Southwest where people just like, go and.

[Isabella]

But it's like sports, so it's based.

[Katie Nolan]

It's like advertising based, I believe.

[Isabella]

Okay.

But they do a big sports event at.

Doesn't matter.

But they said, unfortunately there were some things, complications, personal reasons that it just didn't come to pass. But we were all in. We were gonna shut down New York Times Square and everything. And I'm just very confused by this story.

There's no way.

Because it's like, how could you be in the planning and. And get them to agree to shut down Times Square for you and then it fall through. There's just no way, zero chance that.

They were going to shut down Times Square. I guarantee you what happened is they were going back and forth and they were like, yeah, yeah, yeah, let's do it. My team's on it. My team's on it. And their teams were not on it.

[Katie Nolan]

Yeah.

[Isabella]

And they probably ran into.

[Katie Nolan]

Teams are probably like. I don't know if you've heard that this weekend. Fuck.

I don't know if you heard of New York, like, zoning regulations, but they haven't opened the Brooklyn Mirage. Like, the biggest club here has been, like, supposed to. Been open for. Oh, yeah. Still not open No, I don't think so. Regulations. There's. There's zero chance that they were crossing their TE's and dotting their eyes on that. I think that's the personal reason that you're bad at business. I said it here first. And if you got a problem with that, come race me.

Why say personal reasons? It makes you sound like you're chickening out. That's my only thing for a lady who was loudly team Lyles. Because I like watching Tyrese Hill lose anything. I can watch Tyreek Hill lose.
