Hello! It's the podcast that Gilbert Arenas will never snitch on. Today, Katie and the Casualties welcome you in for a conversation about gambling, the NBA, the scandal that's only going to get bigger, the league's reputation being in jeopardy, and the alleged existence of organized crime. Like, at all. We said alleged, don't come for us. Then, the team gets into Justin Herbert and Madison Beer celebrating Halloween together a week early, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau celebrating something, and Sophie Turner and Chris Martin celebrating something else, the Jonas Brothers performing at the World Series, the Toronto fans politely trash talking Shohei Ohtani, and what probably happened during Game Three, the disappearing act of Jaylen Brown's hairline onto OG Anunoby's jersey and why we should all be our true selves, the NBA on Prime video, naked Ducks in Oregon, Cam Newton vs. mascots vs. hats, Brian Kelly's expensive exit at LSU, what exactly Mike Lombardi does, Aaron Rodgers and th...

Game day season is here and if you're like me, you want to serve up incredible food without missing a single play. And that's where Gorton's seafood comes in. For over 175 years, Gorton's has been serving up restaurant quality seafood that's unbelievably easy to make and ready in just a few minutes. Which is speaking my language. Whether you need some protein for your pregame meal or a whole spread of crunchy craveable appetizers for the crew, Gorton's has you covered with tons of easy prep seafood options like their popcorn shrimp or classic fish sticks. Think about it. Restaurant quality seafood, ready in minutes and at fraction of the cost of eating out. It's the perfect solution for your watch party whether you're hosting a big crowd or just having a lazy couch session. Me, I just bought an air fryer. Dan and I just got an air fryer and we had a big air fryer weekend where we fried up a bunch of stuff and part of the reason was because we wanted to cook up our Gorton's popcorn shrimp that we had in the freezer. It was so tasty, so easy to make and just such a nice little game day treat. Visit gortons.com to learn more, find a store and get recipe inspiration. Hey Isabella, did you that Suzanne Summers husband has cloned her? Kind of. How well he says it's it was Suzanne's idea. She died in 2023 may she rest in peace. It was her idea that they would replicate who she was and have it be his wife.
Isabella
Now are they talking? Is she talking?
Katie Nolan
I think so.
Isabella
Is it just a blowup doll?
Katie Nolan
No, I think it's an AI companion. It's so funny for all the articles I've read about it, it's like not really nailing it down. Just all he says is like we don't like to call it a twin. Cuz they were calling it an AI twin and he was like more of like a. He called it something else. I don't know. It's an AI. Does anyone have more context on this?
Brady Gardner
It looks like there's a physical robot involved. And I don't think he's calling it a twin because it looks like he took the liberty of making the robot look younger than Susan.
Isabella
No.
Brady Gardner
Which is very discomforting.
Isabella
This makes me sad.
Katie Nolan
I've been with Suzanne 55 years, so I know what her face looks like. And when I just look at the two of them side by side, I really can't tell which one is the real and which one is the AI. Does he have her dead body in his house? What does he mean by that? What does he mean by that?
Brady Gardner
It does give me the motivation that I am totally gonna mess with my wife and be like, yeah, you better damn sure if I die. Robot clone.
Katie Nolan
He unveiled.
Brady Gardner
These are My Dying Wishes.
Katie Nolan
He unveiled the Suzanne AI twin at a conference in 2025.
Isabella
See, this is one of those. Should I have said that out loud?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. What is it? Plenty of material exists for getting the likeness and speech just right. All of Suzanne's 27 books. Suzanne Somers wrote 27 books.
Isabella
Shout out, I guess.
Brady Gardner
Did Michael Crichton write 27 and invented the Thigh Master?
Katie Nolan
That's a lot of books. And she's done a lot of interviews. And so she's really ready to be able to be asked any question at all and she'll be able to answer it. Yikes. Their family loves the idea. They thought it would be a great tribute to Suzanne herself.
Isabella
Whichever cloned Dan.
Katie Nolan
No.
Isabella
You sure?
Katie Nolan
Wait. He says, once I'm satisfied that we have everything, we'll put her on Suzanne Summers.com and we'll invite all her fans and all our customers. Question mark. To come and talk to her.
Brady Gardner
Jerry Jones already tried this. No one wants it.
Katie Nolan
He did.
Brady Gardner
You remember you can talk to an AI version of Jerry Jones at the stadium.
Katie Nolan
What's an AI version of Jerry Jones like?
Brady Gardner
I don't know if it's worse.
Katie Nolan
What is it?
Isabella
A microwave glory hole?
Katie Nolan
Start the podcast. Hello, my sweet little babies. Welcome to Casuals, the sports podcast that tries its best not to bore you. We're really trying to do sports for people that think they don't even like sports. Because sports are for everybody and they're fun. I'm Katie Nolan. I'm your host. Join today because it's Tuesday by my casualties we're gonna jump into the news in a little bit. I will also introduce them in a little bit. Actually, we'll just do it now. Brady's here.
Brady Gardner
Hello.
Katie Nolan
Chris is here.
Chris (Australian)
Hi.
Katie Nolan
He's Australian. And. And Isabelle is here.
Isabella
Good day.
Katie Nolan
Good day. Casuals.
Brady Gardner
Appropriation.
Katie Nolan
Nolan. His culture is not a costume. Casualswithkatienolan. Gmail.com is our email. 646-801-0043 is our voicemail on IG and tick tock. We are at Casuals, the podcast. I'm gonna get into a little yap here in a second, but some. Some housekeeping updates before we jump into everything. Number one, we needed Ryan Blaney to win, to get in at the NASCAR champion for. To get into the NASCAR Championship 4. We had talked about this as a part of our set. We were all rooting for Ryan Blaney. He finished in second.
Isabella
Second is the best.
Katie Nolan
What?
Isabella
First is the worst. Second is the best.
Katie Nolan
Third is the one with the hairy chest. Yes, that's right. Yeah, yeah, we get it. So he's not in. So NASCAR's over. A real shame. A real shame. Their season ended before their championship four, but that's just the way that it is. Please don't ask any follow up questions. Also, Brady mentioned, I don't know if it made it into the cold open, but we mentioned that Suzanne Somers has written how many books? 27.
Brady Gardner
27.
Katie Nolan
27 books. And you said, is that more than Michael Crichton? Which I was like, it couldn't possibly be. We looked up how many books Michael Crichton has written. How Many is it?
Brady Gardner
29.
Katie Nolan
Are you kidding me? Michael Crichton only wrote two more books than Suzanne Summers. That seems. That seems not right.
Brady Gardner
It's. It's.
Katie Nolan
Do you think her husband has read all of her books? No chance, right? No.
Brady Gardner
You haven't heard every joke Dan's told?
Katie Nolan
No, I have. What do you mean? Yes, I have.
Brady Gardner
Okay. Oh, maybe I just made a bad assumption.
Katie Nolan
Okay, what do you mean? To the point where there's parts, times where I want to reference them and I go, you know, like that Dan Soder bit that I've got a memory for that nobody else could possibly know what I could was talking about. Real quick, we're going to get into. I'm going to Puree app today. Like a real yap. Because news broke. I love when news breaks on a Thursday after an episode comes out. I really do. I love when earth shattering sports news occurs on a day when I'm not going to be able to talk to you guys until Tuesday, which is what happened here. Because Thursday morning, a bunch of people. 34 arrests across 11 states. A gambling scandal is now rocking the NBA. Portland Trailblazers head coach Chauncey Billups and NBA guard Terry Rozier were among nearly three dozen individuals taken into custody by the FBI on Thursday in connection with investigations related to an underground gambling ring. Gambling ring and illegal sports betting. Billups was allegedly involved in illegal poker games across New York, Miami, Las Vegas and the Hamptons. You know all my favorite places to go. I'm being sarcastic. Two of those cities I famously talk about hating all the time. Sorry. And then the Hamptons and New York, that's kind of the same. The Hamptons are in New York. But it's allegedly tied to the Mafia. And not just like, you know, the Mafia. Like the Mafia. The family names that we haven't heard in a while, like Gambino and I believe Genovese is in there. And there's a. Just a. It's the. What do they call it, Brady? The four. The five families. What do they call them? The.
Brady Gardner
The Cosa Nostra.
Katie Nolan
That's right, the Cosa Nostra.
Brady Gardner
So if allegedly.
Katie Nolan
Allegedly. Sorry, yeah. No, I think it's allegedly the Cosa. I think it's. I think you can say it. You're just saying allegedly because you're scared.
Brady Gardner
I don't know. My last name's out there.
Katie Nolan
That's true. It's Brady Gardner, in case you were wondering. And he lives in. He lives in Maryland. You do, right?
Brady Gardner
I do, yeah.
Katie Nolan
I mean, you're from. But you also live for now.
Brady Gardner
No more details.
Katie Nolan
I know, it's pretty crazy. I watched that press conference. First thing I'll say about this is when you hear that this is happening, they were like, oh, press conference, I think was at like 10 o', clock, 10am I was like, well, I'm up. I'm getting ready for my show. Let me pop on the press conference. I'll just go turn the TV on and go to espn. I go to espn, it's get up. They're not talking about it. They have the busing with the boys guys on. And I'm like, there's no way, even if they do start talking about it, that this is the analysis I seek. So it's okay. There's many. ESPN. I go to ESPN2 and I don't remember. It was something, but it wasn't the press conference. I go to ESPN News because I'm like, this must be why this channel exists when the news is breaking. Boring, I know. Not catering to the Gen z and Gen Alpha 67 of the world. If I hear that one more effing time by the way, my head's going to explode. Old people doing 6 7. I never want to hear it ever again. But so I go to ESPN News being like this must be where they put the boring stuff. Slippery stairs. Remember when I told you guys about slippery stairs? The ESPN the OO thing where a bunch of people try to make it up a set of Slippery St that was airing at 10am on ESPN News. I was like where is this press conference? I found it on the BBC. So ESPN never took it live. Now listen, I don't work there and I don't run the business. Clearly that company and I disagree on a strategy. So. So who am I to say? But they didn't find it was important to take the FBI director's press conference live as they were announcing that an an active head coach in the NBA was arrested that morning, as well as a guy who they had investigated for similar claims in Terry Rogier and had cleared him. They thought we'll just catch them up on what happened. We'll just tell them the rundown, which fine, that was just the decision that they had made. But in that press conference they started naming some of the people who invol who were involved in the investigation. And I was like, I don't know. That felt to Brady's point, to Brady Gardner of Maryland's point just felt like something when you're talking about people who found out the the Mafia, maybe we give them some anonymity, maybe we don't tell everybody about exactly what's going on since the news was announced. I mean, we're days removed from it now. I want to pick up sort of where we're at in it. Pablo has Pablo Torre, friend of the show finds out. Famously he's been finding out and keeping people updated on other names that might be involved. According to his sources, Pro Football hall of Famer and former Chargers tight end Antonio Gates hosted and played in an allegedly rigged Miami poker game that was organized by Curtis Meeks. Meeks was indicted by the federal government on Thursday. He was one of the 34. Also reminds me of something we talked about before, which is Gilbert Arenas. He In July, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas was charged with one count of conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business, one count of operating an illegal gambling business, and one count of making false statements to federal investigators. He was indicted on July 31 and is accused of. I just said. And his was with an Israeli organized crime group. So we've got a lot of organized crime connections to the NBA. I will also remind you that what we brought this up for before is that Gilbert Arenas went on his podcast and said this. Hey, y', all, good luck in court. Hey, man.
Brady Gardner
Cause I. I'm pretty sure I ain't.
Chris (Australian)
Gonna be there when.
Brady Gardner
When it's time to go. Cause.
Chris (Australian)
Yeah, yeah, I'm snitching.
Katie Nolan
I don't know your name.
Brady Gardner
What's your name?
Katie Nolan
Igor.
Brady Gardner
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
All right, let's write that down.
Sponsor Voice 1
Igor.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, he did something. You look like you guilty. It still to this day makes me go, what? It's also funny. I saw in one of the news stations, I don't even think it was one of the. Somebody had on two former, like, mafia bosses, and I'm like, are we doing this? I think Colin Quinn has a joke about Mafia guys with podcasts where you're just like, this feels antithetical to the whole thing, but, you know, we're in a new era. So keep an eye on Gilbert Arenas and hopefully he'll be doing okay. During last Thursday's installment of his show, Gil's arena, after the news came out, he danced to the set carrying a brown paper bag labeled Informant Lunch. How y' all doing, baby?
Brady Gardner
What's up, big dog?
Katie Nolan
Info. Info. Oh, they say info. It's funny, too. It's not, right? I don't know. It's. Are we messing around with the mafia like this? Is this, I don't know, kind of wild? I will say it feels like we are not in a good place to receive news like this because the weekend was spent on social media. Chris, I know you're not on. That's where people all gather to discuss things that have happened.
Chris (Australian)
Sounds terrible.
Katie Nolan
It is. It's a cesspool. And what this has set off for people is combing through footage of not only NBA games, but also the multitude. Myriad of athlete podcasts. There's just talking and talking, and so they're pulling these little clips and going like, this means this person's involved. This means this person's involved. I saw clips of different players. There was one of kd and people were alleging that a fan clearly makes eye contact with him and is giving him some sort of signal that it's time to throw the something. It's like, this is a mess. It became a mess so quickly. And it's because, I mean, public trust is at an all time low. I feel like in my lifetime Right now you can hear a story and go, is that real? We talked about this with Sarah Spain and Angel Reese where you'll scroll past an infographic that looks as real as any you've ever seen and it's from a account that seems pretty real and someone will just take it at face value. It's completely made up. Like we are not doing well in terms of like the information economy and trust in like reporting. And now we've got people who are losing. They're gambling their own money on games and feeling as though the integrity is rigged. Because yes, Chauncey Billups was originally in that press conference named as a guy involved in the rigged poker game side of things, which you could say is separate from what happened with Terry Rozier, which was about actual in game situation. But if you read, and I didn't read the whole indictment because I have a life, but I saw that people did and I trust those people and, and I saw them say that there is a. A person not named in the B. The basketball side of things that basically said that this person had inside information about injuries and they were sharing that before it was public knowledge with other people who used it to inform their bets. That calls into question the integrity of the game. And I actually even saw someone say it's funny, we're taking issue with allegedly Chauncey Billups telling somebody that they were tanking before it was public knowledge that they were tanking when a couple years ago it would been a scandal in and of itself that Chauncey Billups admitted they were tanking. Like you're not supposed to be tanking, never mind giving information to people that you're tanking before it's public knowledge that you're tanking. So for me it just feels like this is a huge mess that's going to affect the product in a way that's really scary to think about with the NBA now it's possible because we live in an age where people do insane you've never seen before. And then we just move on with our lives like it's normal. It's possible that's what happens and that the NBA is so popular and wonderful that people that this doesn't damage it in any way. But I feel like in an era when we've been talking a lot about fans gambling a ton of money on a game, losing that money and taking it out on the athlete on social media through harassment, I don't know that we're in a great place to be told that maybe some people are getting Inside information on gambling and other people are not. It just feels like a really big scandal for the NBA at a tough time because A, the season's just starting, but B, Chris, I think you would agree, even with the season just starting, there's been a lot of really good basketball.
Chris (Australian)
Oh yeah, we've had countless amount of overtime games, 2 OT games, close games, big time performances. It's been fantastic on field product. And then you've got that, that drama that comes along with it that's really just adding to the theater of the season so far.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it was.
Brady Gardner
Can I tell you where I first heard this story broken down on ESPN? So you went looking on ESPN News. You were looking on ESPN 2. On ESPN. By the time I turned it on, the show that was talking about it was ESPN BET with Joe Fortenbaugh.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, yeah.
Brady Gardner
With not a hint of irony about it. Like the show that is run and sponsored by their own sportsbook, which the one doing the analysis on it.
Katie Nolan
I'm not trying to be the fun police. I, I've said before on this show, we don't do gambling. It's just, it's not even like a moral high ground. It's literally just like it has taken over any. Anytime you seed a little bit of power to gambling, it took over right away. It's. It's been encroaching on sports media in a way that I was like, can we just have one place where it isn't? And so that's within my control and that's why we do this. But it has been interesting. I mean, I don't know if you saw the clip of them talking about it. I think it was on get up and they like tried to quietly remove the bug that said ESPN Bet from the corner of the screen, which is like almost worse. It's almost like deleting the tweet. You're like, well, now we have screenshots of you doing the tweet. So we. It's. You're making it a bigger deal.
Chris (Australian)
Like blurring the fans, flipping Kathy Engelbert the.
Katie Nolan
Yes, yes. It's like we know what's behind that. We know what's going. Like ESPN having a sports book blows my mind. I get it. I'm out of touch with the industry and where it's going and where it's been. I understand that. You can yell that to me all you want to. It still is like you can't be the reporting arm of sports and also the gam. You can't run a gambling. It doesn't I don't understand how they get away with it, but it is what it is. One thing that I just want to mention, one wrinkle that's annoying me is hearing everybody discuss Chauncey Billups like he's the. Has the most sterling reputation across the NBA because. And I don't want to get into it, but by the third time I heard someone say. And the craziest part is that it was Chauncey Billups, because no one's ever had a single bad thing to say about Chauncey Billups. I was like, I don't know. I don't know if that's true, because Chauncey Billups has an accusation in his past that we talked about quite a bit when he was being considered for head coach and frustrated me then that people didn't seem to care about that. And it frustrates me now that people don't seem to care that he's, wow, this guy, he's the most upstanding in the league. It's like you can beat an upstanding guy and have an allegation, but I don't think you can be the most upstanding guy that you never would have expected it from. And. And have an allegation. That's just my own personal opinion that. Please, I'm begging you. I don't want to get into. But how dare you? It was, by the way, it was News nation, so I don't even know if it's worth mentioning, but it was Sammy the Bull Gravano and Michael Franzes. Franzese. He was a former capo in the Colombo family. Sammy the Bull. It's like you. I shouldn't. You shouldn't write that on a lower third. That shouldn't be faunted. Former capo of the Colombo family. What are you doing out? What capo?
Chris (Australian)
Oh, I was gonna say I was capo.
Katie Nolan
It's not. Capo's what you put on your guitar.
Brady Gardner
Like a little tiny olives.
Katie Nolan
Former capo. Whatever. I'm Italian, but I'm not. I have to. I have to pretend I don't know. You know what I mean? My family owns a. I got family that owns a funeral home in Newton, Massachusetts. So is it capo? Capo? Yeah. I just think there's a lot. There's a lot going on here, and I will be keeping an eye on all of it. Also interesting again, that lack of trust thing. The Ravens said Lamar was going to play this week, and then, because they said he was a full participant in practice, in the line for that game was like seven and a half, and then he didn't play. And of course, course, people online were like, this is. We were just talking about this.
Isabella
You.
Katie Nolan
You said he was going to play. People bet based off of that and then he didn't play. So now that's being investigated. It just feels like sports needs to tighten it up. This cannot get in the way of the on the field product. It's a lot of things across sports are pissing me off this year with the on the field product. Like the NFL. It's like, get the fields right. I want people to stop getting hurt on crappy turf. We cannot play international games unless the international games can have football happen on them. American football, because people are getting hurt. So I don't know. We're keeping an eye on it, but the NBA's got a gambling issue. A lawyer called into fan service unprovoked last week.
Brady Gardner
On Thursday, it was like, katie, stop talking about this.
Katie Nolan
It was crazy. He called it and just like told us how to. How it was gonna. He's like, here's what's gonna happen. And then when he, after he was done saying it, I was like, I have to ask, do you do this for work or are you just a guy? And he was like, yeah, of 25 years or something. 40, 30 plus years of experience. He was like a former prosecuting attorney, current criminal defense attorney. And he said over the next month, they're going to start to. There's more names and stuff are going to start rolling out, so something to keep an eye on. That's your yap. Thanks for letting me yap at you. Do we hit a break here before we go to news, Chris? Yeah. So let's go ahead and hit a quick break. When we come back, we're going to get into some news. Guys, Justin Herbert, Madison Beer. We've been talking a little bit about this new hot couple in the NFL. Justin Herbert, of course, the quarterback for the Chargers. And Madison Beer, the famous lady. I don't know. We don't know. We're still not really sure. She performed at the Victoria's Secret fashion show and walked in it. So she can do it all or she can't do any of it. We're not really sure yet. But they're dating. They're. They look. They're so cute. They're so, so cute. They went to the Lakers game on Friday night and Justin Herbert saved her life. Did everybody see that?
Isabella
No.
Katie Nolan
The ball was bouncing towards her.
Isabella
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Katie Nolan
Stuck his hand out in front, saved her life. Amazing. Great. Absolutely incredible.
Isabella
Which is great because, like, he's the one who usually throws the ball, right?
Katie Nolan
That's right.
Isabella
He's the one who catches it, so.
Katie Nolan
That's right.
Chris (Australian)
Two way player.
Isabella
Yeah, that's right.
Katie Nolan
As somebody else who once walked in a Victoria's Secret fashion show would say, he can't throw the ball and catch the ball. That's a Giselle reference. And Isabelle, you really would have loved that era of football. Someday we'll go back, talk to you about it. But they also wore matching sailor costumes at a Halloween party. Can I. I already did this on the radio. What are we doing doing Halloween the weekend before Halloween when Halloween's on a Friday?
Isabella
I know. I hate it.
Katie Nolan
I hate it. Next Saturday is the Halloween Saturday, not this past one.
Isabella
And that's Okay, I have. Was ranting about this, like, earlier that. Sorry, Brady. Like, backed away from this.
Katie Nolan
No, I love this.
Isabella
I was ranting about this because I literally was like. I. I also just feel like the same way. It's like Halloween's on a Friday this year, so it makes sense to do. And celebrate Holiday. Celebrate Halloween on Friday that weekend.
Katie Nolan
Yes.
Isabella
And now people are celebrating Halloween this past weekend, and I don't get it. It's not Wednesday, it's not Tuesday, and.
Katie Nolan
So there's no confusion. It's on a weekend night already.
Isabella
And I went out on my birthday this Saturday and everyone was celebrating Halloween. I'm like, no, it's my birthday. It's not Halloween.
Katie Nolan
So true. Happy birthday, by the way. Thank you.
Isabella
But. Oh, my God. Yeah, I hate it.
Katie Nolan
Happy birthday.
Isabella
Also, it's just like, whatever happened to living like it's one night a year? Like, you go out and dress up at a party and then, ooh, you have a meeting the next day. Oh, whatever.
Katie Nolan
You know what I mean? Right? But even you wouldn't. Because it's a.
Isabella
But that's just like an added layer. It's just like, come on, do it on the Halloween day.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I agree.
Brady Gardner
I think we're approaching this different angles, but if I'm paying for a Halloween costume, I'm getting two weekends worth of views.
Katie Nolan
So you did some. What you're saying is you did something this weekend?
Brady Gardner
No, no, I would have. It was field hockey and lacrosse all weekend.
Katie Nolan
I saw people.
Brady Gardner
Today doesn't line up with anybody else's scenario.
Katie Nolan
I saw people took their children trick or treating this past weekend.
Isabella
Yeah.
Brady Gardner
Oh, no. What the hell's going on?
Katie Nolan
Illegal. Illegal. I. If you showed up at my. We better have agreed to this as a neighborhood. If you showed up at my house the week before. I don't have candy. It's just. I can't keep candy in my house like that or I'd be a lot different of a person. It's just not. I don't have the self control, so what the fuck? Everybody's obs. I saw a Christmas commercial this weekend while watching football. It's not Halloween yet. What are we doing? The calendar exists for a reason, people. You're gaslighting me. You're driving me nuts.
Chris (Australian)
Wait, does Christmas begin after Halloween or after Thanksgiving?
Katie Nolan
After Thanksgiving?
Brady Gardner
Thanksgiving, November 1st.
Katie Nolan
Airing before Halloween. It should be illegal. Yeah, it feels illegal.
Isabella
Yeah, I don't like that.
Katie Nolan
To quote my girl, speaking of birthdays, which, Brady, you are the only person who has yet to wish Isabella, Happy birthday. I'm just wondering. No, don't. That's not. It's too late now. It's too late for that.
Isabella
Very true.
Katie Nolan
It's too late now. We all said it in the group chat. I said it again just now. You have yet to say it. What's going on between you and Isabella? A fight, I think.
Brady Gardner
I thumbs up emoji, someone else is happy.
Katie Nolan
That's not the same. Meaner. That's acknowledging that you saw it, but that you don't have the time to type out a happy birthday. Now, granted, this could be just. You could be resentful because your birthday, we had. It was our first morning episode, I think, and it was a. I was in a mood. It was an atrocious day. Everything went wrong. And then afterwards, I got home and I was like, is Brady's birthday forgotten? So I get it if you're mad at us, but, hey, Isabella, you're not the only birthday this weekend, okay? It was also Katy Perry's 41st birthday. And love is in the air. Her and Justin Trudeau, former Prime Minister of Canada, made their first public appearance as a couple on her birthday at Crazy Horse in Paris, which I've been there. Shout out. What do we think about this couple?
Isabella
I don't know.
Katie Nolan
I don't know either. How old is he?
Isabella
53.
Katie Nolan
Wow, that's a good guess.
Brady Gardner
He is 53.
Katie Nolan
He is. Look at you, knowing. Look at you knowing.
Isabella
I know things, you know?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. So they're. I mean, that's. Whatever. They're just. They look okay together.
Isabella
Yeah.
Brady Gardner
But it's never gonna not look weird, right?
Katie Nolan
What do you mean?
Brady Gardner
I don't know. It never looks like these two people should be. Maybe it's. Their worlds are so different, but it doesn't. I. My. My most famous image of him in my head is him shaking hands with Trump number two. Can't be him walking.
Katie Nolan
That's your most famous. He's grateful that that's your most famous image of him in your head. Because for me, it's the blackface. The first thing I think of is that brutal. Speaking of Halloween, by the way, you shouldn't need me to say this, but I will. Cause we're here and we're talking about it. Don't. I don't care what color the face of the person you dressed up as is. Don't do it. Yeah, don't do it. I don't want to hear an argument. Don't do it. Where it's 20, 25. Get over it. Yeah, I Don't know. These, I guess I look, I hope they're happy. I don't know what they talk about.
Brady Gardner
Space.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, for sure.
Isabella
Oh yeah, for sure.
Brady Gardner
It's like you haven't been well, let me tell you.
Isabella
He'd be like, I can get you there again.
Katie Nolan
Who was she with most recently before this? Orlando Bloom, right?
Brady Gardner
Orlando Bloom.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Yeah, he's.
Isabella
Although I have heard that like I don't know if it's. If it was with also. What was her other husband?
Katie Nolan
Russell Brand.
Isabella
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
I think she's got a real list. Not Russell Crowe. Russell.
Isabella
I was gonna say Russell Wilson.
Katie Nolan
That's funny. That's funny.
Isabella
No, but I. I think I could be wrong. I got to fact check this. That apparently that like those relationships ended while she was on tour.
Katie Nolan
The Russell Brand when I remember from her documentary where she's like finds out about it has to like take a couple deep breaths and you hear the crowd cheering and then they like she goes up on her plat. That was like a tough clip to watch. That was the most empathy I've felt for Katie.
Isabella
So Justin Trudeau, if you feel like it's not working out, like, just think about the timing. Hopefully just don't do it while she's on tour.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Is she going on. Is she done with that tour?
Isabella
I don't know.
Katie Nolan
That kind of went out with a whimper. It was like people were like, what is this? This isn't really giving, as the kids would say. Brady said stand on business earlier. So I'm allowed to say it wasn't giving. Except Brady's wasn't on the podcast. Okay. And then a new. Here's a new romance. Love is in the air that I need more opinions on too. Sophie Turner. Chris Martin. Martin, the actress and musician are rumored to be dating according to the Daily Mail. So grain of salt I guess. But Turner and Martin went on a secret date. Somebody sometime between late September and early October. They both just got out of previous long term relationship. Sophie Turner was dating aristocrat boyfriend Peregrine Perry Pearson.
Chris (Australian)
Sounds like a made up aristocrat.
Isabella
I don't know who this person is.
Katie Nolan
Peregrine. Isn't that like some language for. For swan? Like what? Peregrine. What is that? Other than rich jaw, has to stick out so far, way out of my tax bracket. Paragreen. It's a falcon. Peregrine falcon. A well respected falcon rebird due to its strong hunting ability, high trainability, versatility and availability. Thank you.
Brady Gardner
What is a poorly requested, poorly respected falcon? Breed pigeon.
Katie Nolan
So okay, they are maybe dating. Chris Martin obviously just split from actress Dakota Johnson. They were eight years. They were dating and they were engaged. What is Chris. What's Chris Martin got?
Isabella
What's his deal?
Katie Nolan
What's he got? Because it's got to be something, you know, Coldplay's good. Coldplay's good. I know they are very popular and he's probably very rich, but like Gwyneth Paltrow, Sophie Turner.
Isabella
Dakota Johnson.
Katie Nolan
Dakota Johnson, that's. Those are like high value.
Chris (Australian)
Is he sweet? Is he a sweetie pie?
Katie Nolan
Maybe. Aw.
Isabella
Maybe he calls out cheating on cameras, you know?
Katie Nolan
Yeah, Chris Martin, what's his deal? I'll google. I just feel like he's gotta have. This is like in.
Chris (Australian)
Just be a certified sweetie pie.
Katie Nolan
Is it 10 things I hate about you. And he's like, what is this chick? She got beer flavored nipples. What's this guy's deal?
Isabella
Is he just typing in Chris Martin, question mark?
Katie Nolan
Is he bringing a lot to the table, question mark? If you get what I'm saying, question mark. When you Google Chris Martin, what's his deal? The AI overview. Let me just. Chris Martin can refer to the baseball player or the musician. The former's a relief pitcher.
Brady Gardner
Okay, I don't dads to Rangers reliever Chris Martin for being up there in the SEO.
Katie Nolan
Obviously that's not who we're talking about. But if you're getting out SEO'd by a relief pitcher who signed a one year deal with the Rangers, how are you pulling these women? But hey, good for them maybe. Coldplay tickets are expensive and those are cheap. Sophie Turner, another. Another musician for her.
Isabella
I was gonna say she was with.
Katie Nolan
A Jonas and that got messy. Not the only time we're gonna talk about the Jonas Brothers today. We should probably just use that as a transition, huh? Do it to talk about the World Series. Game three happened last night. For you, dear listener, here we are yet again where we are recording. It's the series is tied 1:1. So I think because of our last prediction segment, the only one of us who earned the right to make any sort of prediction about the game that has already happened for you is Brady. So Brady, very quickly, what do you think has already happened in game three Monday night?
Brady Gardner
Okay, so the issue is that if the Dodgers have to go to their bullpen. No good. If they don't have to go to their bullpen because Yamamoto is just throwing complete games every time. Good. Tyler Glassnow is not going nine innings. He's not a nine inning starter. He's a five inning Starter at best. I think they're getting five innings out of glass. No feeling good. Early Blue Jays come back and win this one late again.
Katie Nolan
Okay, that's a good prediction.
Isabella
How are you knowing like pitching?
Katie Nolan
They tell us, they tell us ahead of time.
Isabella
I'm searching Dodgers, Blue Jays, Game 3 lineup. Is that how you do it?
Katie Nolan
That would be it. That's a place to start. It should. Old Google that would have worked. I don't know about now. New Google is like you said your mom sent you a sports store story earlier and I googled looking for it. Couldn't find it. No clue how he was anymore. I don't know. I don't know.
Isabella
It was like a screenshot of a tweet she saw of like the Blue Jays like apparently bringing on Lunette the clown from Big Comfy Couch.
Katie Nolan
But we don't know for some reason. So allegedly. Allegedly shout out Isabella's mom. So the World Series where we're at, two games have happened. It's series is tied. 1 1. Blue Jays won that first game by quite a lot. What an exciting game. Addison Barger comes in and hits the first pinch hit home run in World Series history. I don't know if you guys saw. There's a TikTok of a kid calling it. Every sports fan has had this moment where they go, like right here, such and such is going to happen. And then it did happen. He goes, grand slam. The camera pans over to the field, grand slam is hit. It cuts back to him and he's absolutely losing his mind. It was like the greatest. That has to be the greatest instance of calling it and it being on video that I've ever seen. But the reason that the Jonas Brothers have been brought up here is because they did the. It was out of one of the innings, a later inning, I want to say like six or seven maybe. They did the stand up to cancer thing that they do every World Series where people. It's a moment of silence. Everybody in the, in the stadium stands up and holds a sign and on the sign they write the name of someone they know and love or whatever that has cancer, who's fighting cancer or who they've lost to cancer. I've talked about this before, but I, I do hate, I understand the reasoning for it, but I do hate when they have the pre printed ones that are made to look like they're written in a handwritten font that say like loved ones or like children in the fight. And you're like, okay, well now it's a just Write a name anyway. But they were doing that. And then out of that, they zoom on over to right field with the camera and show the Jonas Brothers, who are now going to show for us. Brought to you by Stand up to Cancer. And I think a lot of people were like, what do you mean we're in the World Series? Here's what I'll say. I think this replaced a commercial break. So as far as I saw a lot of people reacting with like, why would I want a Jonas Brothers concert in the middle of my World Series game? And my response to that is that I think it was this instead of a commercial. I don't think we did a commercial break. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure we didn't do a commercial break. Come back from the break, get a random concert, delay the game. I think it was like the stand up to cancer thing. And then I imagine someone said, it's hard to go from that heavy moment directly back into the ball game. So they put in. It also felt like the Jonas Brothers did half a song. Now, I'm no Jonas Brothers fan. I don't know their. I don't know their songs like that, but it felt when it was over, I went like, oh, good, that was quick. No offense. I just meant like in terms of like, oh, good, they're not doing three songs. Songs. Because if the Jonas Brothers did like a three song set, I do not think that would have gone over well. So when they just played like a little bit of a song and said it was for anybody who's in the fight against cancer. So I hope everybody in enjoyed it. The Internet was mad. But again, I think the worst offense here so far in the postseason was when in Game 7, they went to a Capital One AD during an at bat in the ninth inning that was like, like, what are we doing? What are we doing? I don't want a quick word from my friends at Capital One right now. We're kind of in an intense moment. Someone's fighting for their season. There was also. There was a lot of drama around the World Series. There was the Ronald Reagan commercial. I don't know if you guys saw that. Now Trump's going to increase the tariffs on Canada because he didn't like that. There was a tourism commercial for. Where was it? Was it for Ottawa? No, it was Ontario, I think. Yeah, Ontario commercial that used a clip from Reagan just talking. Just a thing a former president said as the sound of their commercial. And that pissed Trump off. It was about. It was anti tariff. And so in response to that, Trump's like, we're gonna raise the tariffs. Which great, fantastic. Everything's good and great. And what note could anyone possibly have on any of it? And then they also. The famously nice Canadian crowd. Did you guys hear chant at Shohei? We don't need him. Did you hear that?
Isabella
Oh, was the Canadian crowd.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, because they were. Toronto was gonna maybe get Shohei before he ended up going to the. The Dodgers. The rumors were that they were one of the teams that maybe he would go to. And then they didn't get him, obviously. And then they chanted we don't need him.
Brady Gardner
And he says still has the hat that they gave him. Yeah, says he still has the cap. When they met, he gave him the hat and he's like, I can't accepted and you know, it's a very polite thing to do. Can't be like, I threw away your gift, you know.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. They said, bring it back. We won. We're not just. We don't have hats to just give out around here. Bring the hat back. Let's see it. Good games, an exciting series. Look, these teams are more closely matched than people think. If you want to sound smart to your friends who know ball, just point out that they these teams are more closely matched than it seems and that this could really be. As long as the Toronto offense gets going, this could really be a good series and I'm hoping that it is. Any other notes on the World Series before we move on? No. No. All right, cool. Let's get into basketball. Chris, I want to do this kind of quickly here, but Wemby last season, Wemby went down early. Victor Wembanyama from the San Antonio Spurs. And Chris, I remember you being devastated because this was somebody you were so excited to see play and it wasn't going to be something we were going to get to enjoy through a couple games so far this season. How has Wemby looked?
Chris (Australian)
So we're three games into the spurs season. They are undefeated and in large part it's because of how well Wemby has been playing and how good he has looked. He has been one of the best players in the league so far this season and they are their appointment viewing the Spurs. We didn't know how to how good they were going to be coming into the year and granted that's only a three game sample size, so we don't know whether this form is going to continue. But pretty much from their first game of the season, they've looked like a really strong outfit and it's been great. And apparently Wemby's still growing as well. Did you see that? He has been listed as 7 foot 3 since he got drafted, but they re measured him, I guess, relatively recently, and he is now up to 7 4. So he's still growing, which is even scarier for the league.
Katie Nolan
How's that even possible?
Chris (Australian)
Because he's already the best defensive player in the league. I don't know what the ceiling is. I'm not sure he has a ceiling, but ceiling, man, if this guy grows to 7 5, I don't know what's gonna happen.
Brady Gardner
So the athletic did a whole breakdown of, like, people doubting even the 7 foot 4 number. Like, they talked to Bobon, who is 7 4, and he was like, I can't do a boat. Do I do a bow bond?
Katie Nolan
No, I don't.
Chris (Australian)
Try it.
Brady Gardner
Let's try it.
Katie Nolan
Okay, here we go. Go.
Brady Gardner
There's no way I'm taller than him.
Katie Nolan
Okay. All right.
Brady Gardner
Bo.
Isabella
I don't know what he sounds like, so to me, I'm like, nice.
Chris (Australian)
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Isabelle's like, sounds great. Isabella loved it.
Brady Gardner
Apparently, Wembanyam is substantially taller than Bobon. Like, this guy could be up to like seven at a certain point, people are just infinitely tall.
Katie Nolan
Here's the thing. I believe it. Watching the highlights from his first game, the first game this season, I was like, look, it is not groundbreaking to say basketball player is tall, right? But this basketball player is so tall that, like, it seems almost difficult to not score a basket. He's so close to the basket. It's like, let me just push that in. It's like a cat pushing something off the a table. It's just like an easy.
Isabella
You're like, now there's more pressure on you.
Katie Nolan
I'm like, you better hit all these shots. Like, like, it's crazy how tall he is. Should it be illegal to be tall?
Brady Gardner
It's like, we're the guy that you would play. He's the guy you'd play beer pong against and be like, step back. Stand farther away.
Katie Nolan
It's a reach. Even when you're trying for it not to be a reach.
Chris (Australian)
But he still has a decent outside game. It's not as if he only plays in the paint. Like, he can step outside and shoot a three. He's not a bad three point shooter, which makes it even more incredible.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Pretty incredible. Pretty incredible stuff. Okay, other basketball story we. I have to talk about. So I know. I'm really, really sorry. We do have to in has. It has he acknowledged it at all, yet I doubt it. In Friday nights. In Friday night's game against the New York Knicks, Celtics star Jaylen Brown, who we love, who we lift up, we hug, we embrace him, and we lift him up, was driving to the basket, and the top of the. His head brushed up against the jersey of OG Anunoby from the Knicks. And he left behind immediately on the white jersey, a noticeable black mark, as if he. Are you sure? Yeah, it's really. I tried to give it, you know, maybe. And again, allegedly, it's. I guess it's possible it could have been something else, but. But one moment there is a clean jersey, and the next moment, after bumping into his head, there's a noticeable smear of black. And so it seems like maybe he's filling in. Look, can I just say, I first became accustomed to this powder that there is when I did a television show with Regis Philbin. And may he rest his calling him out like that. I'm not. He was. He was very old, and I. They had these little spray. They were like very delicate spray bottles, like those ones that you go. Like, you squeeze the little rubber ball on the end of it, and it would distribute this powder that basically was to make your hairline look less thin on tv. It's. Look, there's a lot of magic that goes into being on tv. I miss most of it. I really do miss having a hair and makeup department. Yeah, no wardrobe department, but it's part of the gig. And an athlete. I've said this with female athletes where I'm like, wow, I would get my. I would feel like I need to get my makeup tattooed on because you are on television the most when you're playing a game. So it's not like you can wear a full face of makeup. It'd be, like, leaking down your face potentially. Like, it's a. And it's. I'm almost kind of heartwarmed to see that a man is dealing with the same thing of, like, I'm on TV and I'm not loving the way it's looking up here, so I'll just hit it with a little. When I saw that stuff with Regis, I was like, why doesn't everybody use this all the time? What is the downside? And it took a really long time, but here in 20, 25, I finally see it. It's that when somebody bumps up against you, it's gonna transfer. It's maybe. I wonder if they use Isabella. I wonder if they were to use that Patrick Star setting spray. I Wonder if that would keep it from transferring. Oh, yeah. You know, that until. Until dawn or whatever it is.
Isabella
Something like that. I also would think that, like, sometimes they even use it when. When guys get like a shape up. And not necessarily because you're trying to fill in your hair. Like sometimes that it's just like an added thing.
Katie Nolan
You just want the line to look fresh.
Isabella
So, I mean, not. I mean, not saying if your hair is thinning, Jalen, and you want to do that, that's totally fine too.
Katie Nolan
There's a lot of remedies now, right? There's a lot of technology for hair.
Isabella
Shit, my hair is so thin. I would use that too. Honestly.
Katie Nolan
Same.
Brady Gardner
So going back and forth, just now realizing that Patrick Star setting spray was not a spongebob.
Katie Nolan
Maybe it's not Patrick. Maybe. I'm saying it's definitely not.
Isabella
You're talking about Patrick Ta.
Katie Nolan
Is it?
Isabella
Is that what you're talking about?
Brady Gardner
No, it's called Patrick Star.
Katie Nolan
It is.
Brady Gardner
Apparently it's both an animated starfish and a hairspray maker.
Katie Nolan
It is Patrick Starr. Thank God.
Isabella
Oh, sorry.
Katie Nolan
There's another beauty One Size by Patrick Star and Patrick T. Yeah, this is what Brady. Just so you. To give you the context. And Chris as well. I assume you don't know this. Beyonce used this in her concert. And you could just. The second we saw clips of how well her makeup stayed on in the rain and she was like, I use this. It like flew off the shelves because it keeps your makeup from coming off. Which. Just saying, maybe that could be helpful to. To Jaylen Brown. I don't know. I think, like, I don't know. I feel bad. It's worth mentioning because it is just such a silly. But at the same time, it's like, listen, don't feel bad. Just do what you got to do, you know, own it.
Isabella
Yeah, it's like the kind of thing where, like, I don't feel bad because I'm looking down on it. It's more of like a. You know how people get really embarrassed for people who, like, the music is playing at award shows. Once you're already saying your speech and you're like, no, no, no. They're just trying to do what they need to do. Like, it's fine.
Brady Gardner
Yeah, just go bald, man. It's cool.
Katie Nolan
Just go bald. Or get. What is it? Fue. Fut. There's all types of different. Go to Turkey, have the Turkish hair surgery. No, I mean, you could. Or you could also not, you know, but if you do. Look, just let's Leave him alone. You know what I mean? Let's leave him alone. Could we love you. Jalen be you.
Brady Gardner
Jalen be you. Be you, be you.
Katie Nolan
And then last thing about the NBA, Amazon prime, the NBA on prime stuff. We talked about NBC, how people loved the nostalgia of it and they thought that NBC did a great job. NBA on prime did a great job too, I thought. And I saw a lot of people echoing that feeling. The in studio personalities, they've got that like thing that looks like a video game where they're out on the court walking through all the different stuff. It's informative, but it's also entertaining. My takeaway from this is like all of these properties getting in on the NBA trying so much harder than ESPN in past years now this is twice I'm noticing this. Twice I've kind of come at that network and I really do try to be Switzerland, you know, you never know where you're gonna work. But I think pretty safely I'm not gonna go back there. I still don't feel good about badmouthing them. I just, I'm just saying it's nice to see people have the rights and try to do something new and interesting with them.
Brady Gardner
Competition's good.
Katie Nolan
Competition's good. The music's good too. The. That their music is kind of nice. I saw people making edits on TikTok to the new NBA on Prime music and I was like, okay, it's kind of nice. So anyway, it's.
Chris (Australian)
It's sort of a nice byproduct of the rights being all over the place. It is sort of difficult. I think I've watched three different Celtics games across three different platforms so far, which has been a little bit frustrating. But you know, if. If it means that we get this competition and get these platforms trying different fun things and are more forward. It was interesting though, watching the, the prime game and Iron Eagle mentioning. Because it was a double header. It was the, the Celtics Knicks game first and then it was the Wolves and Lakers after that. He had to explain how to watch the second game because it doesn't just roll from one game to another like traditional tv like espn. He explained that you had to push the down button, find the game and then hit enter, which was just very strange. And I think it's going to take some people a little bit of time to get used to, but it was very jarring hearing Iron Eagle explain how to find the next game. If you wanted to watch the second.
Katie Nolan
Game of the double header, that is. Thank you for mentioning it is worth Mentioning that, that is the bad part of it, of it being everywhere, of rights, being everywhere is trying to find a game. And you know what? Kudos to them for thinking ahead and going, which buttons did I have to push? What is the order of those buttons? Just in case you have an older person that's watching who can't contact their grandkid to go, how does this remote work?
Chris (Australian)
Especially because like we're, we're accustomed to watching NFL on Prime on Thursday nights. But that's not a double header. So once the game's over, you just turn it off. It's easy.
Katie Nolan
Let's just say yes, because God forbid.
Chris (Australian)
They'Ve already started on it Monday night. It's terrible.
Katie Nolan
Hate it.
Chris (Australian)
But yeah, that was the first time that I've experienced that double header on, on a, on a streaming service like that. It was very interesting.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Let's pivot now to college football. You know my favorite sport. Just kidding. I don't care as much about college football, but there are some college football stories that I do care about this week. We'll start with Brian Kelly, LSU coach who famously had a new accent when he got down to the bayou. He's going to have to come up with a new accent cuz he got fired. He's owed $54 million. He's fired midway through his fourth year at LSU following a 49, 24 loss against Texas A&M. That's their third loss of the season. He never made the College Football playoff while at LSU. He finishes his Tigers tenure at 34 and 14, which to a pro football fan is like, that can't. That's not too bad. But then I imagine that some of those were the teams that they absolutely should have beaten who were scheduled that they weren't supposed to lose to. And just also, he's never made the College Football Playoff. He was the coach after they made their run. And that's not a bad program. And it should have. He should have done more with it. And also, why are you talking like that? You know, $54 million.
Brady Gardner
You insulting the man's family.
Katie Nolan
His family. He's the second. That's the second most ever paid to a college football coach to get rid of them as a buyout. That's obviously behind Jimbo Fisher who got $76.8 million, ironically enough, at Texas A and M. It was the same. Oh my God. It was the same ad.
Chris (Australian)
I didn't realize that same ad that hired both of them.
Katie Nolan
Oh my God. So you should never work again. Where is. Is he still. He's at lsu, I assume, Scott.
Chris (Australian)
He's also the one that fired Brian Kelly.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Oh, boy.
Chris (Australian)
I don't think he fired Jimbo Fisher, athletic director.
Katie Nolan
So the person who's in charge of hiring and firing the coach. So, you know, very interesting. Then while we're talking about lsu, I want to get into some mascot stuff because I saw. I didn't really see a lot of context for it, but I did see that the LSU mascot, again, I'm sure it was just prematurely celebrating Halloween for whatever reason, but they had the mascot dressed up like Michael Myers in a costume. It's very hard to look at. It's a weird. I don't like the way that it looks. It was during a media timeout where they recognized kids battling cancer. Answer. So I'm not saying it was premeditated. Just one of those things. I bet as the mascot, you are grateful that there are two masks between your face and the world in that moment where you're like, at least it's not me. They can't see that I'm dying inside with this awful costume on. While we talk about kids and cancer. It's one of a bunch of mascot stories that happened this weekend. There's a new TikTok trend where college football fans take their shirts off during games. Sounds riveting. But the Oregon Duck decided that they would join in during their 217 win over Wisconsin over the weekend. And so the Oregon Duck took off their shirt, which, when you're the Oregon Duck and you don't wear pants, means that it was just a naked duck. A naked Duck with college football fans all shirtless in the game. An odd. It was just an odd look.
Brady Gardner
It looks so much worse than just him being pantsless. You can make peace with the pantsless dirt.
Katie Nolan
I almost wish he took the shirt off and put pants on out of respect for us to go, like, I'm not gonna be out here just in my birthday suit. I've put on pants because of how weird this is.
Chris (Australian)
Then you're really acknowledging that he should always be wearing pants.
Katie Nolan
True. You're right. Then you're opening that going, we should be doing this all the time. Also, I'm glad no college football fan student took their pants off to try to make the Oregon Duck feel more safe. I feel good. About as bad as it could have gone. It went well. You know what I mean? It just is like, I don't want to see the naked duck. And I don't know if Tim Brando did either. Do we have that sound, by the way, that, my friend, is a naked duck. That's a naked duck. What? Yeah. Put some clothes. Well, what. Put some clothes on. And then. That's not the craziest mascot story. The craziest mascot story of the week was Cam Newton was standing at the finish line when Stinger, the Alabama State Hornets mascot, beat Butch, the Alabama A and M Bulldogs mascot, in a 40 yard dash. Newton was celebrating with Stinger when Butch tried to get involved and knocked off Cam's hat. The ex NFL star didn't take it well and threw what looked like a punch or slap at the bulldog mascot. The pair then began to grapple with each other before it slowly ended. Weird. Just a weird. Cam is. I mean, they did. They do. What was that first take that they were doing? He was out there for. He was doing some shit show, I think.
Brady Gardner
So. One of the shows. Yeah, I think it's one of the only one to be.
Katie Nolan
He also co hosts a new sports show with a woman. I wonder if he thinks it's funny when she talks about routes. That's all I want to know. I just want to know if he finds it funny when his co host talks about routes. So that's your weird mascot news. You should go look that video up. I don't know. It's weird.
Brady Gardner
He was real mad.
Katie Nolan
Brady, you used to be a mascot. Does this upset you? Are you upset by us? Yes. Yeah.
Sponsor Voice 1
Everyone.
Brady Gardner
Everyone interacts with a mascot with the assumption that there's significant padding going on. Like these things are made of kevlar. It's just a person inside a smelly, smelly suit that is just a little like thin layer of faux fur. But you punch that mascot, even if it's in the head, you're rattling ahead. If it's in the body, there is no padding going on. People think there's immunity. These are real people in there. Even if it's not a real person. Don't punch. Don't punch strangers.
Katie Nolan
That's right.
Brady Gardner
Knocked off your hat. Not a capital crime.
Katie Nolan
That's right. I remember a couple years ago when we had to do a PSA on like, hey, please don't sexually harass people in mascot suits.
Chris (Australian)
Please.
Katie Nolan
There's a person in there, so don't do that. This is kind of the same. Maybe we don't.
Brady Gardner
It's also not always a woman. Like, you're like. It gets very un.
Katie Nolan
Men get sexually harassed. Brainy. Okay.
Brady Gardner
No, but it was a was. It was a Mrs. It was a Mrs. Met story. Right? And it came to be.
Katie Nolan
Well, there's a bunch. It's happened a bunch. People will always, like, honk different parts of a mascot that you're like, there's still a person in there.
Isabella
Ew.
Katie Nolan
Really? Yeah. I don't know. Maybe that maybe this will stop happening. As the furry community gains prominence, I.
Isabella
Say the mascot should fight back.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Isabella
Throw punch.
Chris (Australian)
And we're encountering the story like what happened in Australia earlier this year. Year in the rugby game.
Katie Nolan
Oh, yeah.
Chris (Australian)
With a little kid.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Chris (Australian)
Who we thought was my cousin for a little bit.
Katie Nolan
That's right. But we found out, unfortunately, it wasn't unrelated. Would have been funny, would have been fun. But the biggest college football story of the week for me. I don't know if anybody saw. Not to mention Pablo Tori again, but if you didn't see, he did one of those episodes where he invites someone on to reveal something about someone to them this weekend, and it was about Mike Lombardi. Mike Lombardi, we've mentioned on this podcast as he is the. What is he? The. He's not the athletic director, is he?
Brady Gardner
General manager?
Katie Nolan
General manager over at unc where Bill Belichick is doing whatever he's doing. What's wrong?
Isabella
This is the guy who uses a typewriter.
Katie Nolan
Yes. This the guy who on our show we said he uses a typewriter. He said it slows him down, helps him, whatever the. And my point was like, buddy, you are not doing well. This isn't going to land properly. Mike Lombardi has been a lot of players cases. He's always called himself a three time super bowl winning coach. Pablo found out that two of those rings, two of those super bowl rings, basically not real. He did not receive an official super bowl ring from the patriots for the 2016 season because he was fired right after the 2016 draft before the team even reported to training camp. And so he wouldn't have been included on the list of people who got a championship ring. And the only reason that he has a physical ring he brings around to places. God, this is so embarrassing. Is because his buddy Bill Belichick bought him one. The way that like an executive can buy a friends and family replica ring to give to their, you know, loved ones. So Belichick bought him a ring that he's been calling. He wears it proudly and like TED Talks is like, check me out with my three rings. Yeah. And we also found out Pablo did that he was fired because the entire staff was going to mutiny if they kept him around. The staff was like, hey, this guy's been Getting paid on an expiring contract that came from when he was with the Browns with Belichick. And once that money ran out and the team had to make a decision of whether they wanted to pay him, the everybody from the offensive coordinator, the defensive coordinator, everybody went to the owner and said, you got to get rid of this guy. Please get rid of this guy.
Brady Gardner
And so they tried to email him about it and he hasn't emailed us back yet.
Katie Nolan
Crazy. Just absolutely crazy.
Chris (Australian)
But at least they are still winless in the ACC so far this season.
Katie Nolan
Highest paid GM in college football by quite a bit. And it basically go watch Pablo's entire reporting. It's very entertaining and it's chock full of little bits. But anybody who's ever worked with this guy hates him. And pretty often I don't think everybody is wrong. I feel like that's usually a sign that someone's getting by on a bit of a good grift. So just a delicious little treat that I got to eat over the weekend and please go enjoy it. It's really something NFL, a kind of a weird weekend. A lot of blowouts. So I don't think we're going to spend too much time talking about it, but we do need to run through the big things. The Giants, tough weekend for them. They lost 38 to 20 against the Eagles. Saquon Barkley, who used to be on their team, had a fantastic game against them. So that's already tough. And then not only that, they lost Cam Scatterboo, the little, you know, he's their running back, but he's like a little. He's like a Sonic the Hedgehog of a guy. He's like bouncing off the walls type of guy he is. He dislocated his ankle. He's probably going to be out for the season. I believe he they updated today. He is out for the season and they got screwed over on a tush push play. So Giants fans a step forward and then a bunch of steps back.
Chris (Australian)
They must be beside Malik Neighbors.
Katie Nolan
Yes, of course.
Chris (Australian)
Had that injury a couple of weeks ago. So he's out for the season. It's just been. It's just been a mess.
Katie Nolan
Every time they get something that looks like an answer, something goes wrong. So y. Sorry for Giants fans, that's going to be a tough one.
Brady Gardner
Aaron Rogers, same week that Cam Scatter Boo just got a new custom set of grills into the mouth. Oh yeah.
Katie Nolan
Well, why.
Brady Gardner
Why you can't predict injuries. I mean, what do you can't.
Katie Nolan
No. I Mean, why'd he get grills? What does he. Are we all. Is that. Are we all doing that now?
Brady Gardner
Again, everybody. Cyclical. We're back to Paul Wall again.
Katie Nolan
I know we did the. The tooth jewels. I know those were in. In recent years, those gems. You've seen those. Isabella, right? People get little gems on their teeth. Teeth. Yeah.
Isabella
They like little flowers or like stars.
Katie Nolan
And stuff, which are cute, but sometimes if you don't know they have them, you're like, she got something in her teeth.
Brady Gardner
I do think you should probably wait until the first free agent contract to get the diamond crusted grills done. Maybe don't do that on the rookie deal.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I don't know. I don't. I don't know about his. I don't know if I'm gonna judge his decision making. He seems.
Chris (Australian)
Think he's the type of guy that thinks things through.
Katie Nolan
Pretty singularly focused on the football, so. All right. Sorry. Giants. Aaron Rodgers lost his revenge game against the Packers. Facing off against him for the first time on Sunday Night football. He lost 35, 25. Jordan Love looked great. He was overshadowed. He was overshadowed by Jordan Love. Jordan Love had 20 straight passes completed during the game. The Steelers uniform. I. Why so bad have I. I want to say worst I've ever seen. I'm. Maybe that's shortsighted. I don't know if there's. Off the top of your head, Brady or Chris, if you can think of one that you've seen that's worse.
Brady Gardner
The Chargers just did the yellow on yellow, right?
Katie Nolan
And it. I hated it. But I didn't hate it this much. This was a throwback to their inaugural season. What the team Wore in the 30s when they were still the. The. The Pirates. It was yellow and then it had black stripes, but they didn't go all the way down the front. The design on the front. Uggo. Uggo. As and stopped right after the numbers. So that if you have a belly, which, you know, certain linemen are big boys, it made a just highlight of a yellow, bright yellow belly right before it got to their beige pants. And those beige pants. I don't hate them as a concept. If you do it. The outfit right. But it looks. They look naked. Everybody looked like they didn't have any pants on. I hated it. I hated it. I've never seen anything worse. They looked awful. I want. I have yet to meet somebody who disagrees. So it. Please let us know. Call. Call us or write in if you loved these jerseys. They stunk and it didn't help that the team lost. They looked, it looked like they had fake, like a tuxedo T shirt version of overalls.
Isabella
I was gonna say kind of like. Like overalls.
Katie Nolan
Right. It was. It was like horrendous. It was like a V. And then lines. I was stupid. Like minions. They looked like minions. It was so bad. I hated it.
Chris (Australian)
Now Aaron Rodgers isn't young at all, but he looks so old, so old in these jerseys and so unathletic. Yeah, it's just they didn't make anyone look good on that team.
Katie Nolan
If you're gonna go with something from your leather head era, make the helmet leather colored or something like make continue to.
Chris (Australian)
I'm glad you're not suggesting going back to 1930s or put the leather.
Katie Nolan
Hey, look, I've heard people say the best thing for concussions would be if they took the helmet helmets off because you wouldn't hit somebody as hard if you didn't have a helmet on your head. That's a good point. So maybe. Probably not. Don't take that advice. That's bad advice. Please don't take it.
Isabella
Let's just switch it to flag football.
Katie Nolan
That's the. Well, that's what they're doing at the Pro bowl, which is super bowl week this year. I don't know if we said that on this podcast yet.
Brady Gardner
They found a way to make the Pro bowl less of a priority. They put it on a goddamn Tuesday night.
Katie Nolan
Hey, maybe it'll get everybody to the super bowl city faster. That could be fine. I'd be fine. But with that. Speaking of looking old, NFL on Fox, their crew was previewing the Monday night matchup between the Commanders and the Chiefs and Terry Bradshaw, who we love on this program, we love Terry Bradshaw. Okay. I should have said, speaking of looking old and playing for the Steelers, Terry Bradshaw said something about how he was texting with Andy Reid. I'm not even going to quote him. Let's just play the clip that Terry Bradshaw, the love of our lives, said on the NFL on Fox show. But the thing that I would worry about more so in Washington is the other day I text Andy Reid and I got a text back and I thought it was Andy Reid, but it was some guy selling pigs. But I sounded good. I shouldn't have told y' all that. So y' all would have thought I actually talked to Andy Reid, but I didn't. Okay, well, I'm gonna get out ahead of this and say this is exactly how I'm gonna age. And I've taken a lot Less hits than Terry Bradshaw, But I can already recognize in what happened there. Me, I see me where I start a thought, and I know what I'm talking about. But I'm not keeping everybody with me, which is the job. And you do have to do that part. What do we think he was trying to say?
Isabella
My guess is that he got the number wrong. And the person actually responded being like, hey, this is Dean Pig Farm. And then he just like. And then that's like. He just very, like, casually been like, oh, yeah, it was a pig farmer.
Katie Nolan
I think that Terry Bradshaw has his own pig dealer who's named Andy Reid. It's probably spelled differently. He probably told somebody in a meeting that. And a producer said, that's funny you should say that on air, as in Andy Reid, also like my pig dealer. But instead he said, I texted Andy Reid Reid, and he's my pig dealer. And I shouldn't have told you that. I should have just told you I was texting with Andy Reid, and you guys would have been impressed. And I think a producer is somewhere going, that's not what I meant. I didn't mean like that. I don't think they're knowing what you're saying, Terry. And I just want to say pig dealers. Is that a job? People out here dealing pigs?
Chris (Australian)
I mean, I guess, okay, someone's gonna sell him, right?
Katie Nolan
I guess so. His co hosts gave us nothing. There was no clarity or clarification.
Chris (Australian)
I think they were just as in the duck as we.
Katie Nolan
They cut to Strahan, who was like, what are we doing? What are we doing? Is it over? I don't understand. What's his point?
Brady Gardner
I'm gonna be on Good Morning America in seven hours. What am I doing?
Katie Nolan
Crazy. That guy work so much. It's when you see somebody work that much and go, they have to have a private jet or else their life would be impossible. There's no even way he could possibly. Speaking of jets, they got their first win. The New York jets did. They won their first game of the season before the Nets won their first game of the season, which was something people were keeping an eye on. They won over the Cincinnati Bengals. It didn't even look like they were going to at the half. I was, like, kind of watching this game. It was among the other blocks, blowouts. But the jets started to make a comeback, and they ended up winning 39, 38 with Justin Fields at the helm. Now, granted, he was not the one who threw the winning touchdown. That was his running back. But, you know, I like him. Spreading the the ball around like you do it. I don't need to do it. This comes of course, after his owner, the owner of the jets penisy penis, Woody Johnson, basically said, we're never going to win. We have a bad quarterback. Our quarterback's stinks. And Justin Fields found that out at a press conference, seemed hurt, but also was like, okay, what are we going to do about it? And then went out and won this game. And then he told us in a post game press conference that like this week he was in his closet crying on the phone with his friend, like struggling to remember who he was. And that his friend helped him get centered. He got his emotions out and then he went out there and had a great game. So shout out to Justin Fields. I don't know if he's the guy. I don't know if he's an incredible quarterback back. But I do know that we talk a lot about mental health awareness and this is what that looks like. He had a tough week. He experienced his feelings, which is always better than pushing them down. I know the world has taught you men otherwise and said that you're not supposed to feel them, you're not allowed to have them. We disagree with that here on casuals you can have them and you should feel them because that's the best way to move past them. And it looks like that's what Justin Fields did this weekend. So we're proud of him.
Chris (Australian)
And he also wasn't supposed to start either. It was supposed to be Tyrod Taylor and then he got injured and wasn't able to play. So they're like, I guess we gotta such a.
Katie Nolan
Such a jet. A jetsy predicament to have your owner come out and say while being named after a penis twice to come out and say that Justin Field stinks too bad to be our quarterback. Then have to come out and go Tyrod Taylor. We're not naming a starter yet. Then they go Tyrod Taylor or T Rod. I'm still not sure if he wants us to say to Rod or not. Is actually questionable. He's got a knee thing and then have to default to Justin Fields. Being your starter is just the jetsiest way and then win the game. Really something else we also have to mention it's a real bummer, especially because a week or two ago we heard from Nick Mangold that he needed. He publicly appealed. This was October 14th. He went on social media and said, hey, I need a kidney donation. I've got a rare blood type. I've had a chronic kidney disease since 2007. 6. And it's getting kind of desperate. I hate to do this, but if anyone's got a kidney and my blood type, please reach out. And we found out that hours before the jets won that game on Sunday, Nick passed away at the age of 41 years old from kidney disease. He has had four children. He was a member of the New York jets ring of honor. So after the game, a lot of jets players spoke about how much it meant to them to be able to get that win again. Hours after Nick passed away. Just a sad story all around. Really sad for his family and sad for the Jets. So rest in peace to Nick Mangold. Okay, that's. Oh, and the Pats one I see that's not in the dock here, but the Patriots have won five straight. So the Patriots are the greatest. They're in first place. The pates are back. Okay, and then the last story that I really make want to make sure we get to because it's Hawk and it's the sports equinox. It was the sports equinox yesterday. It's the sports equinox when we're recording this. So I want to make sure we get to all the sports hockey story. Did you guys see this Judy Jupiter story? Judy Jupiter is a TikTok personality. She went viral. She goes up to people on the streets of New York and talks to them. And she's got, you know, a very unique style. The she's very in your face. She's very abrupt. She's not afraid to ask an uncomfortable question. Never shies away from an uncomfortable small talk moment with a stranger. And I love that for Judy. She went viral before for talking to Sabrina Carpenter when she had no idea who Sabrina Carpenter was. Just interviewed her like, oh, people seem to care about this lady. This blonde lady on the street. Who are you? Puts her phone in her face. And Sabrina Carpenter was sweet. That happened again this week. This past week, maybe a week or two. I don't time is we weird. I have a daily show now. Everything gets confused. But she ran into Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith of Chris's San Jose Sharks. Go Sharks. Go Sharks. Whatever you must call them shocks.
Chris (Australian)
Yeah, Sharks.
Katie Nolan
They appeared in a series of videos on her TikTok. So the one that I saw that I sent to the group was Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith. Which, by the way, let me use this opportunity to say we have reached capacity for Wills Smith. I do not think we need any more Wills Smith in the world. We have Will Smith on the Dodgers. There's Will Smith, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Will Smith on the Sharks. Please, no more Will Smith.
Brady Gardner
There is a chance that a Will Smith wins the World Series for the fifth consecutive year this year. Crazy, because we had Will Smith the left handed reliever.
Katie Nolan
Also right. Too many Wills Smith. So please. But anyway, the two of them are sitting outside of like some al fresco dining of God knows where and Judy Jupiter goes up to them and asks them what they do and they say that they play hockey. And she says clearly has no idea that they play in the NHL. These are professional hockey players. But she sort of finds out through the uncomfortable conversation. If you've ever watched content with hockey players, they just have a unique way of being. I find a lot of them very funny, but it's a sense of humor that is. You've got to really give it, you've got to meet it halfway way. You've got to understand a hockey player. And so this was beautiful to me how uncomfortable they both looked and yet they both played along. She basically says, look at these two hotties. They're single, stand up and give me a twirl. And these two professional hockey players stand up and for this woman, give her a twirl. They spin around in opposite directions fully play along with her TikTok, answer all of her questions. Questions. It's great. That night they play the Rangers and both of them go off in the game. They end up winning in overtime when Macklin Celebrini assists Will Smith who scores the game winning goal. The Judy Jupiter effect is real. She has given this team new life. And then Judy Jupiter went on what's what? Chaos, which is the podcast that Pete and dj, our friends who came and did casuals here and they did our hockey preview at the end of last season before the playoffs. She went and did their podcast and we learned just so much about her. Learned that they actually did a ton of videos together. That wasn't just the one I saw, there was like four of them. And she said, I saw this hot blonde guy pass me. And I said, I've got to get him. I did two videos of him. I did the first one. I said, what do you do? He said, I go to college. I study communication. Hilarious. A lie. A good lie, but a lie nonetheless. She did two video, a bunch of videos with Smith and then switched to and then brought Celebrini in. They did a total of four videos. Amazing. Just absolutely amazing. That woman is so. I'm so jealous of her ability to plow through discomfort and to just go, I don't know. I'm just asking you more questions. I'm just a curious lady. She's not worried that someone's going to go, you don't know who that is, or you don't know what this. She's just like, I don't know. I'm just asking questions. Beautiful. Unrelatable to me, but beautiful. And I appreciate. Did you see it, Isabella?
Isabella
No, I didn't. Every time I look at. Every time I try to look up, Judy Jupiter, I'm not seeing, like, these things.
Katie Nolan
I sent it to the group chat.
Isabella
When?
Katie Nolan
Isabella
Oh, about a week ago.
Katie Nolan
Exactly. It's cute.
Isabella
Okay, I'll check it out.
Katie Nolan
It's really cute. They give the little spin. I thought it was cute. Chris, as a fan, does this make you more excited for your team?
Chris (Australian)
Yeah, sure.
Katie Nolan
Why not? Yeah, why not? You don't love it. Do you hate it?
Chris (Australian)
No, I do.
Katie Nolan
I've heard people say that, that I've. Because I shared the video. I retweeted it. And half the people are like, this is the greatest thing I've ever seen. And half of the people are like, I hate this.
Chris (Australian)
The start. It's very awkward to start off with. And I'm like. I'm just shifting around in my seat while I'm watching it, going, oh. Oh, man. When do we get.
Katie Nolan
It is a specific type of type.
Chris (Australian)
When do we get past this feeling?
Katie Nolan
And it does. You just have to power through it. It is the power of human connection. You know, as somebody who wants more people coming into the sport, I love a Judy Jupiter going, these are two hockey players. Look how hot they are. We should all be watching hockey. It's like, that's right, Judy Jupiter. We should. Now, we don't get to see a lot of their faces on account of the helmets in the cages, but at least you know they're in there. They're in there and they're playing hockey.
Chris (Australian)
And I know more about Macklin celebrating you and Will Smith than I did a week ago, so that's always good.
Katie Nolan
About a week ago. Thank you. That sounds like a good time for us to take a break. When we come back, we're gonna help you out with your Halloween costume. If you're still trying to get to the bottom of it because you're one of those people that didn't celebrate last weekend because you're not a psychopath, because Halloween's coming up this next weekend. And then Chris will obviously let you know what you can watch if you want to watch sports this weekend. We'll be right back with more cast casuals.

Okay, welcome back. It's Halloween and we got it. Well, it's almost Halloween. It certainly wasn't just Halloween. And we got an email from Andrew. Chris, will you go ahead and read us Andrew's email and inspired us to do a segment?
Chris (Australian)
Sure. Andrew wrote to us saying with Halloween coming up and pulling inspiration from an episode of Fan Service where Katie asked for ideas, I was hoping you could all Have a fun discussion about sports themed costumes. I found myself on a very long and boring conference call, so I came up with some ideas below. This is casual specific costumes that Andrew is writing us for.
Katie Nolan
Okay, first, first one.
Chris (Australian)
Wear a Chicago Bears number 18 jersey, carry a four color retractable ballpoint pen. Ideally have an ombre hairstyle and go as always late when Caleb's rolling.
Katie Nolan
Now, for anybody who doesn't know, I hosted a show called Always Late, I used to use a retractable ballpoint pen and always late with Katie Nolan. Always late when Caleb's rolling. This the bit that he's trying to do. Are you being negative about Caleb Williams? That is Isabella's boy. It is, but I guess it's because of the always late of it all. But I get. Okay, cute. Very cute. What's next?
Chris (Australian)
Next one. Next idea. Wear a Los Angeles Rams number 12 jersey, a headband that looks like sun rays shooting out yellow orange face paint, and go as Isabella's fantasy football team. If possible, have someone play DJ Khaled's All I do is Win. When you enter the room, All I.
Katie Nolan
Do is a headband that looks like sun rays shooting.
Isabella
Oh, because of Puka full of sunshine.
Katie Nolan
Ah, yes, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. I was thinking of the baby from Teletubbies. I don't know why somebody might get confused. Okay, are there more? He's got more.
Chris (Australian)
Got more. We're in old, old, old number 12 New England Patriots jersey, a Baltimore Orioles hat. Carry around an award that says whitest year by a boy.
Katie Nolan
There you go, Brady.
Brady Gardner
I feel seen.
Katie Nolan
There you go, Brady. That's perfect for you. And eat a crab cake. Just because. Just because.
Chris (Australian)
And the final one. We're a Carlton Blues Aussie football jersey. We call them Guernseys, but that's okay.
Katie Nolan
Guernseys.
Chris (Australian)
Guernseys, yes. Not jerseys.
Katie Nolan
No, you don't. Chris is just misinforming. He's not telling you real. He's making stuff.
Chris (Australian)
So we're at. We're at Carlton Blues Guernsey. Walk around telling everyone what obscure sports they can watch. If they want to watch sports. But do it in an accent that may cause some people to openly thirst for you over email and voicemail. Bonus points if you delete your social media accounts.
Katie Nolan
And bonus bonus points if you can poop a football.
Isabella
Oh, hell yeah.
Katie Nolan
Extra bonus points. Those are fun.
Isabella
I like that.
Katie Nolan
Those are really fun and cute. Thank you, Andrew, for those fun and cute ideas. Now that is gonna lead. If you do dress up as any of them, those you're gonna spend the entire night explaining what you are. And that might get kind of exhausting. I thought maybe we could use this email as a jumping off point to kind of brainstorm some sportsy Halloween themed costume ideas. Do you guys feel like that's a good idea?
Isabella
I do.
Katie Nolan
Great. Can we play like a scary sound?
Isabella
I don't know. Let's see.
Katie Nolan
Okay, perfect. We'll just use that every time we come up with an idea. Just hit me with that. That, of course, pulls me. Julio Reddit screaming after the Mariners loss. And truly, like I said before, the only way to get through your emotions is to experience them and process them. And that was. At least he gave us a clean audio screaming after the question was asked. All right, let's come up with some ideas. What do we have for a Halloween costume? I said before, but not here. You could dress up as Dylan Raiola. Is that how you say the Nebraska quarterback's name?
Brady Gardner
But.
Katie Nolan
But then all night when people go, are you Patrick Mahomes? You go, no, I'm Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola. But it's just a Patrick Mahomes. It's just a Pat Mahomes costume. What else we got sticking?
Brady Gardner
In college football, if you have Penn State or LSU gear laying around, just buy some fake money and just roll up as James Franklin or Brian Kelly. The two richest men in the world not to work right now. They're getting 50 million bucks each each to not have to do the rest of their jobs. Just start throwing cash around. I am post firing James Franklin. Brian Kelly.
Katie Nolan
Perfect. Perfect.
Brady Gardner
Very famous Travis Kelce. We know one additional thing about him in 2025 that we did not know in 2020.
Katie Nolan
That he has a penis. That's it. I would argue we knew that.
Brady Gardner
We do know now that it has drawn substantial tree comparisons.
Katie Nolan
Sure. So dress up as a tree and put his jersey on. Oh, my God.
Brady Gardner
Dress up as a tree and put his jersey on. I think just maybe adorn it with some sort of, I don't know, smuggle a Pringles can wherever you're going.
Katie Nolan
Yikes. Yikes.
Brady Gardner
Some sort of Travis Kelce esque gag.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I think you'd be a tree. Put the jersey on so you're a tree. And then have a random branch that wouldn't normally be that low on the tree and just have two nuts dangling from it. Oh, you're Travis Kelce. Perfect Travis Kelce costume. Yes.
Chris (Australian)
Appropriate.
Katie Nolan
Perfectly appropriate. A popular one. I think we're going to see a lot of this year. Philly's Karen, because that wig is Easy to buy. You just got to put on Philly's gear that if you're a fan, you already have. I think we're going to see a lot of Philly's Karens. That being said, it's still an easy costume. If you don't have one that you can. You can go for. Just make sure you're a lot to.
Brady Gardner
Be around one of those costumes where you get to just use it as an excuse. You get to be a dick on worst impulse.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, that is true. Who else? What else? Great.
Chris (Australian)
Another one you're gonna see a lot of is the Belichick, Jordan Hudson fisherman and mermaid costume.
Katie Nolan
I hope to see a lot of that. If you and your grandpa are hanging out for Halloween, have your grandpa dress as a fisherman and you can dress as a mermaid. And then that'll look great.
Isabella
And extra points if you guys do a yoga pose.
Katie Nolan
Doing yoga with your grandpa. What about stud buds? I hope I see a lot of stud buds this year. Pink hair. That's really. I mean, all you got to do is pink hair. And then I think people will get it. As long as there's film everything. One of you. Yeah, Film everything.
Isabella
Yeah.
Brady Gardner
Find an old white woman and get her to knuck as if she bucks.
Katie Nolan
As if she is buck. Right.
Isabella
That doesn't sound too scary.
Katie Nolan
With a strip lash. That's. I. That's another one. I think you could be Kathy Engelbert if you really wanted to be. Just make sure you get a very thick strip lash. And you don't even consider individuals. Exactly.
Chris (Australian)
If you're lazy or tired, you could dress up as the Vikings rookie who had to defend the tush push just by lying on the ground.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Isabella
Fun.
Katie Nolan
It's a good one, Chris. It's. It's tougher for that to land. I think you'd have to just lay down all the time. And then I bet people would go, are you. That planking social media trend, however long ago that was, I'm shocked that we don't have.
Brady Gardner
We don't have an inflatable tush push costume because now you have the inflatable costume where it looks like you're like riding a horse or you're a centaur and the back legs are inflatable. If just like a Jalen Hurts jersey with an inflatable Saquon Barkley pushing you places. The fact that the NFL has not sold this costume is bewildering. I just check. They do not sell this costume. It feels like it should exist.
Katie Nolan
You could dress up as Madison Beer. And if you do, let us know. What were you. What did you feel like in that moment? In her shoes? A singer, a model, an actress? You tell us.
Brady Gardner
The man of baseball 2025 is going to be an easy one to replicate. Cal Raleigh himself. Big Dumper requires three things. A mariner's jersey, a mustache, real or fake. Up to you if you have time. And then a huge ass.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady Gardner
And then you're in business.
Isabella
That is a good one.
Katie Nolan
I would be thinking about. I'm thinking about if Megan thee stallion dressed up as the Big Dumper. How, how much that would make me laugh. I know it would never happen, but I would. I mean, I already love her more than anything. I just feel like I would go. It'd be above and beyond beyond if she was like, this year I'm Big Dumper. Like, yes, you are.
Brady Gardner
That's feelings. I'm not ready to feel.
Katie Nolan
Yes, you are. I am.
Brady Gardner
I don't want to have. I don't want to have to confront.
Katie Nolan
That until I do. Bring it on. Do we have any others? There's got to be.
Chris (Australian)
You can get two of your buddies, get in each other's shoulders, put on a trench coat and be Victor Webanyama.
Katie Nolan
Okay, perfect. I like that. Okay, perfect.
Brady Gardner
I wish we a group costume. The Amazon Thursday night football team.
Katie Nolan
Okay. Okay.
Brady Gardner
Is a good one because those guys literally each wear the same costume every week.
Katie Nolan
They really do.
Brady Gardner
No one is in more narrow of a lane than Andrew Whitworth is always the jacket and thin hoodie guy. And Ryan Fitzpatrick is always the Hawaiian shirt and jacket guy. And Richard Sherman is the turtleneck guy. Tony. Tony may have a little more leeway than everybody else, but I think like that's an easy one to show up and be like, I know you are. Yeah, you got the big bald friend in the hoodie. I know that guy.
Katie Nolan
You gotta roll pretty deep. Also, big bald friend sounds different than bald. It sounds like you have a friend.
Brady Gardner
With big, big bald.
Katie Nolan
Travis Kelsey as a tree. BBF Travis Kelce as a tree.
Brady Gardner
That's my big bald friend.
Katie Nolan
All right, good. Do we have any other ideas? I know I'm missing some. If you dress up as something sportsy, even just sports. Ajay adjacent for Halloween, write in and tell us about us. Send us a picture. I don't know if we're dressing up this year. Dan and I last year we were with Myrtle the Wet Bandits or Sticky Bandits. Actually don't think we picked based off of one of one movie. I think we kind of meshed based off of what we had. It was my favorite costume ever. We had a party to go to this year. I don't think we're doing anything, so I don't think we're gonna dress up. Are you guys dressing up?
Brady Gardner
I haven't made up my mind. I've been stuck between a bunch of, like, very easy mustache, mustache themed costumes.
Katie Nolan
Big jumper. Yeah. Oh, he doesn't have the fat ass. No offense, Brady. We only ever see you on Zoom. I actually really don't know. I shouldn't speak out of turn.
Brady Gardner
No, it's like Hank Hill back there. Like, I would have to pad out pretty significantly.
Katie Nolan
Like Mrs. Matt. Maybe allegedly. Maybe allegedly. I don't. I was gonna say play the scream, but do we have any other scary.
Isabella
Sounds like we got here?
Katie Nolan
Like we're hearing that Brad Marchand could become a Florida Panther.
Isabella
Ooh, scary.
Katie Nolan
I thought it was gonna be like a ghost. Or like bats.
Chris (Australian)
Scarier.
Katie Nolan
Or like you monsters.
Isabella
I think there's another one here.
Katie Nolan
Hold on.
Isabella
Wait. No.
Katie Nolan
Now what's this gonna be?
Chris (Australian)
The San Francisco Giants are acquiring Rafi Devers from the Red Son Socks.
Isabella
Oh, my God.
Katie Nolan
That was scary. I hate this bit. This is evil. This is a haunted house.
Chris (Australian)
We're not safe here.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, no, like I said, if you dressed up as anything in sports, send us an email. We want to see it. We love our. Our casual. Right? Casualties is you guys, right? Not the fans.
Chris (Australian)
I think it started off as the fans, and then we slowly adopted it.
Katie Nolan
I do this a lot. I blur lines like this in a really inconven way. And I'd like to apologize for that and then immediately rescind my apology because I was just abused by audio. So let us know if you dress up as anything for Halloween. I want to see all your costumes. It's one of my favorite things about post Halloween content. Okay, before we let you go, Chris in his Australian accent that causes a lot of you to thirst over him, has to let you know what to watch if you want to watch sports this week. Chris, what do you got?
Chris (Australian)
I got some scary options for for you. The first one will be Tonight, Tuesday night, October 28th at 9:00pm Eastern on ESPN. We have an NHL game, the Devils against the Avalanche. Two scary name teams. Also, Nathan McKinnon for the Avalanche has a chance if he gets 11 assists in the game to register his 666th assist.
Katie Nolan
That's great. That's great. Really good. So he's a reach 655.
Chris (Australian)
And all of that is 11 assists.
Katie Nolan
11 assists.
Chris (Australian)
So we're on Satan Watch right now for Nathan McKinnon to see if we can get to 666.
Katie Nolan
Damn.
Chris (Australian)
No one's near 666 goals.
Katie Nolan
No.
Chris (Australian)
So I had to reach in and look through the assists, and Nathan McKinnon was the first.
Katie Nolan
And listen, you may say 11 apples is a lot for one game. And I say someone's got to do it. It's doable.
Chris (Australian)
Why not? Nathan?
Katie Nolan
We're hearing that Brad Marchand could become a Florida player.
Brady Gardner
Panther.
Katie Nolan
What's Next?
Chris (Australian)
The next one. On Thursday, we have an NFL game, the Ravens at the Dolphins. That's Thursday, October 30th at 8:15pm Eastern on Prime. This could be a scary game for Miami fans and maybe for Mike McDaniel as well. They had a big win over the weekend, which was good, but that may just be prolonging the inevitable. We are pro Mike McDaniel on this podcast, so we are hoping that it's not going to be as scary as. As it could be, especially if Lamar Jackson was to return.
Katie Nolan
Will Mike McDaniel be fired? Quoth the Raven, nevermore. Ooh. What else?
Chris (Australian)
And the final thing to watch this week, the New York City Marathon. It's on Sunday, you know, watching with your iPad, 8am Eastern on WABC TV.
Katie Nolan
I'll be waking up for that, for sure.
Chris (Australian)
Yeah. To watch a whole bunch of people running. I just put this in there because I find the concept of running 26.2 miles in front of a lot of people incredibly scary. I wouldn't want to do it.
Katie Nolan
It's good. That's good. That. That explains it's going to be an annoying day.
Isabella
No, I'm excited for. I love seeing all of the content come out of New York City Marathon.
Katie Nolan
And I love the content, too. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be mean. I mean, as a person who lives in New York City, they're going to hide all the trash cans. So I'm going to take Myrtle on a walk and I'm going to have to throw the poop away inside of my apartment building because all the trash cans are going to be gone. Because anytime there's a public event where people line up in the streets out of an abundance of safety, they get rid of those. So it's just gonna be a tough way to navigate the. But very exciting. And congratulations to anybody running in that New York City Marathon. I'm sure you'll tell us all about it on your social media because as the league famously pointed out a million years ago, Nobody can just run a marathon and not tell anybody about it. You can never just quietly run a marathon. Okay, everybody, the scariest part part is that the podcast is over and I'm really sorry to say, but hopefully you feel caught up on all of the sports that exist in the world because that's our job here. If you want to email us with your costumes or really anything else, Casuals with Katyn gmail.com our voicemail 6468001043 on IG and Tik Tok we at Casuals the podcast. Big thanks to the casualties for being here today and to you for listening.
Brady Gardner
We got to stop it. We got one thing we got to announce that I'm just thinking about right now to anybody who's still listening at this point.
Katie Nolan
Great.
Brady Gardner
Thursday's episode is going to be a little off schedule. Thursday's episode will be releasing in the afternoon on Thursday and not Thursday morning. So let's give a heads up to those listeners right now.
Katie Nolan
Only the ones who listen this deep and everybody else will be confused and they'll feel sad. But you'll know the true real fans will know that. You got a heads up about this. We've been doing a good job of releasing them earlier in the day. That's what we're doing with our new recording schedule. So that you have an episode when you wake up. Ideally, yeah.
Chris (Australian)
I stay up until 3am and then post it at 3am before I can go to sleep because that's what I got told we have to do. So is that true?
Katie Nolan
That's true.
Brady Gardner
It's like middle of the afternoon in Australia though, so like.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Which is where you live, right? Right. His clock.
Chris (Australian)
Yes. I've only lived here for eight years, but I'm still on Australian.
Katie Nolan
It's crazy. I don't know how he does it. It's really disruptive. But yes, it's gonna. Thursdays is a little different because we have Kitchen a guest that we're going to record it on Thursday. So it's going to come out sort of like it used to later in the day on Thursday. So it's just a heads up. You will be getting an episode. It's just going to be a little later. We're sorry about that. And that's it. So if you see people freaking out about it, you get to be the person that goes, actually if you listen to the episode all the way through on Tuesday, you'd know that they told us this was going to happen. So that's exciting for you. That's a gift that Brady has given, given you that. We waited till this long till we remembered to tell you that. So you're welcome. And again, thank you for listening and thanks for being preemptively. Thanks for being cool about that. And we'll see you then on Thursday a little later in the day. We love you. We mean it. Bye.
