Hello! It's the podcast that's changing the world, one lazy internet bio at a time. Today, Katie and the Casualties (minus Isabella, get well soon!) discuss the Knicks' domination of the 76ers in Philly and taking over their arena despite Joel Embiid's best efforts, how they match up in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, how much credit Danhausen deserves for this run by the Knicks, the Flyers also getting swept, Stormy the Canes mascot caving to peer pressure and finally getting his own bio on the team website, and whether Philadelphia had a worse weekend this past weekend, in October at the NLDS, or in 1777 at the Battle of Brandywine, Victor Wembanyama's ejection on Sunday, Roc Flair going after Luka Doncic on social media, the potential end of Lebron's career, the NBA Draft Lottery, and Skip Bayless and Stephen A. returning to discuss Tim Tebow's career one more time in 2026. Then, Katie and the team get into the WNBA season tipoff, the Toronto Tempo's debut, why the Portland F...

Katie Nolan
Hey. Hey, Brady and Chris.
Chris
Hey.
Katie Nolan
And no offense, it's just when Isabella's not here, it's not the same.
Chris
I know.
Katie Nolan
But I do need you guys to step in. Hey, Brady and Chris, did you see that Sue Bird is going to be the state bird of Connecticut?
Chris
Oh, yeah.
Katie Nolan
Good reaction.
Brady
It's the best choice, right?
Katie Nolan
Yeah. A bill has been approved by the Connecticut legislature and is now. Is now awaiting. Isabella wouldn't do that to me. And is now awaiting the signature of Governor Ned Lamont that states the American Robin shall be the state bird provided in the month of March of each year. The American robin, Jordan Hawkins and Suzanne Bridget Bird, also known as Sue Bird, shall be the state birds. That's Sue Bird who obviously went to Yukon. Jordan Hawkins went to Yukon. I think he won the National Championship 2023. He's also Angel Reese's cousin.
Chris
Oh, cool.
Katie Nolan
Did you know that?
Chris
Yeah, I didn't.
Katie Nolan
And so that's Sue Bird gonna be the state bird of Connecticut.
Brady
So disrespectful to actual birds. Right. Kind of like taking their job, I guess.
Katie Nolan
But it does. But they. But it's still also the American robin. It's just the American robin plus these other.
Chris
The American robin sharing the month of March.
Katie Nolan
Right. So it's not really taking any jobs. The robin still keeps the job. It just.
Chris
Plus it's just a crowded month.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it's just a lot of birds.
Chris
I'm down for it. I like it.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Chris
Didn't know you could do that. But hey, all Right.
Katie Nolan
Well, let's start a podcast. Hello, and welcome to Casuals, a sports podcast. It does not care what you know. We're just here to get you caught up on everything going on in sports. I'm your host, Katie Nolan, joined today by my casualties, the production crew here at SiriusXM minus one. Because Isabella's out sick, so we send her our best wishes. Get well soon, tiny, tiny Isabella. But we do have our master editor, Chris.
Chris
Hi.
Katie Nolan
And berate.
Brady
You still got us. Yay.
Katie Nolan
Yay. It's so exciting. No, it's almost the same. It's close. It's close enough that people might not notice. If you want to reach out to us casuals@katienohanmail.com voicemail 646-810-0043 Save that in your phone. Save it in your phone so I can stop saying it. And then on IG and Tik Tok, we are at Casual as the podcast. We have a lot to get to today. Tough week for Philly. We made an impact across the Internet in a couple different ways that we'll get to. Wemby gets ejected. We've got the NBA draft lottery drama. WNBA season is off with a bang. Asante Samuel reentered the public consciousness for no good reason. We've got a woman of the week candidate. That's very exciting. And then we have the. The complaints for the super bowl halftime show. The official the FOIA request went through, and TMZ published all of the complaints that were sent in about Bad Bunny's halftime show. And you wouldn't want to miss those. So all of that coming up in just a little bit. Let's start with Brady. Last episode we had on Jordan Lucas, an absolutely wonderful viral sensation. And one of the things we were tasked with was that we wanted to add to his Wikipedia page. First, let me say I've gotten a lot of awesome feedback from that episode. A lot of people letting me know how much they loved it and how much it meant to them. And so I just wanted to say, hell yeah. That was the goal. Shout out. Jordan Lucas, who ruled, was a fantastic guest. But were we successful in our endeavor of trying to add some meat to the bones of his pretty bare Wikipedia page?
Brady
Brady, we were. We got some meat, okay? From like, maybe a flat to like a, like a small drumstick.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Brady
Whereas previously, previously on Jordan Lucas's Wikipedia, two sentences. Yeah, the entirety of it was. Jordan Lucas is an American volleyball player with a large following on social media. Lucas is gay. And scene. We are now up to Four sentences, which is a huge step forward for us.
Katie Nolan
Okay. Can I just say it's a step forward? Not as big as I was hoping.
Chris
Yeah, I was expecting something a little bigger, too, to be honest.
Katie Nolan
Maybe I should have had better questions, I guess. You don't just lead with how many dogs you have in your Wikipedia page,
Chris
but what kind of car you.
Katie Nolan
Shut up, Chris. If you had notes, you should have given them to me before we did the podcast. Too late now.
Chris
I love the question that you were
Brady
giving, like, his bank info when we were going through these questions. Like, what was the name of his.
Katie Nolan
I wanted his mother's maiden name so I could break into his bank account. So what is in there? What made it in.
Brady
Currently on Wikipedia. Jordan Lucas is an American men's volleyball player for California State University Northridge, csun. Really milk that for all the characters?
Katie Nolan
Sure.
Brady
He previously played volleyball with the Philippines men's volleyball team and Grand Canyon University. He has a large following on social media. Lucas is gay.
Katie Nolan
Oh, hell yeah. I was. I was really hopeful that Lucas is gay would stay in there because without it, it really wouldn't be complete. Okay, so we did that.
Chris
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Good for us.
Chris
Let's keep building it. Let's hope that.
Katie Nolan
Keep building it. Yeah.
Chris
More people listen to the episode.
Katie Nolan
I thought we would have a lot more Wikipedia editors on our. I don't know, in our listenership. I was expecting that we'd have people go like, oh, I could do this easy, but I guess not. Brady, did you say you saw that they had added more and then they took it away again.
Brady
There was a sentence about his high school career, that he had won a high school championship, and somehow in the last couple days, that has come back out. I don't know what the approval process
Chris
a couple of you referenced.
Brady
I know when I was in college, you could put anything in Wikipedia and it would sit there for at least a month. And we abused the hell out of that. Probably the problem.
Katie Nolan
Isn't it funny when in school they used to be like, wikipedia is not a source. And at this point, where the Internet is, it's like, I actually bet they do let kids use it as a source.
Brady
It is the best source.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it's the most useful source. Not to say it's never wrong. So always check your facts. But that was last week's monologue. Not this week. We're onto something new, and what we're on to is Philadelphia. Not a fantastic weekend slash week or whatever for Philly fans. They had a tough. A tough go at it. Let's start with the Knicks, who swept the Sixers. So four games after beating the Celtics, may I say rudely, in the first round, and I believe Chris will agree. The Sixers knocking out the Celtics, only to then get absolutely swept by the Knicks. Thanks a lot. I guess the. It culminated in a game four win for the Knicks. 144 to 114. That was on Sunday. Despite pleas from Joelle Embiid to not let New York fans take over the 76ers arena, the crowd for Game 4 did feel like a home game for the Knicks. Their celebrities came out. They had their. Their celebs were around. Here's my question for that. Celebrities aren't like, buying tickets, resale from. From Sixers fans. It's not like Timothy Chalamet is going on. Exactly. So I don't you think. Shouldn't the Sixers have been like, no, you can't sit in the front row, movie star.
Brady
Yeah. The teams have control over who sits
Katie Nolan
in the front row. Right. So shouldn't their team have stepped up and been like, no, you can't come in.
Brady
I mean, Shane wasn't there.
Katie Nolan
Well, Shane was busy.
Brady
Shane was busy.
Katie Nolan
Shane was incredibly busy.
Brady
Somebody's gonna fill that seat.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady
Not to shame Shane.
Katie Nolan
No. Well, you did. And that's. I want nothing to do with that. That's on Brady. Okay. I didn't say about shit. Tyrese Maxey after the game, when asked kind of specifically about that, said that he. The sound is just him going, it sucks. It sucks. I. If I'm honest, it just sucks. That's all I can say about it, man. It's hard. Definitely difficult. It definitely difficult. It's only one way to put a stop to it, and it's. We have to go out there and win these games. So it feels like the Sixers aren't thrilled with how that went. I saw local news for the Sixers, but overrun by Knicks fans. The poor woman trying to do her report. And they are just screaming about the Knicks, which, you know, has got to suck. Josh Hart had something to say about this post game. What did he. What did he say? Let's take a listen.
Brady
I used to think Philly was a sports town. I don't know if it is anymore.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
Chris
Brutal.
Katie Nolan
That is so mean. That is so mean. And why would you poke the bear? I just, you know, Philly fans are scary. Willing to go further.
Brady
It's a harsher thing you can say.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, that's mean. And it's gotta Hurt kicking them while they're down. That's Isabella's guy too. She loves Josh Hart.
Chris
That's a great quote. I love it.
Katie Nolan
I know, it's just brutal. It is brutal. Do you think she's sick or you think she's hungover?
Chris
True fandom. She's like. I think she's lovingly celebrating that way.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Chris
I think she would love to make
Brady
it back up from Philly. Overtaking all this broadcast.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I did. She was back there going so the Knicks are going to advance to the east finals for the second straight season and will play the winner of the Cleveland Detroit series. Pistons are up as of recording two one game four is tonight though, so we don't know. Neither team. Chris looks dominant, right?
Chris
No, not really. You sort of expected the Pistons to look a little bit better in the postseason so far. They had that early season or early series slump in round one. They sort of bounced back from. They're looking okay in this series, but not as much of a world beating performance as like what the Knicks are putting on at the moment. Like, they're just. They look phenomenal. They're winning games by like 20 points in like regularly over their 10 playoff
Katie Nolan
games, the Knicks have outscored their opponents by 19.4 points per game, the best per game differential for any team through two rounds of the playoffs in the 43 years of the 16 team format. If you're not a numbers person, you fell asleep halfway through that. But it is very impressive how much they're beating people by and how good they look. And if I were a Knicks fan, I think I would be like still nervous for the other shoe to drop because it's just how good they look is like is can one on both
Chris
ends of the floor as well, both offensively and defensively. They look really strong.
Katie Nolan
Well now it's, it's also now rest versus rust. We've done this before on this podcast. How long do you want to sit and rest for? Obviously OG Anunoby is dealing with something that he needs time to heal from. He didn't play at all right in the last two games of that series, I don't think. But. So he's got a. He's got a chill. So you want the time, but you also don't want to get rusty and come back and then get, you know, beat up by a team that's kind of rolling. The difference, I'm wondering between the not mascot but team nickname Cavalier or Piston, who would you rather, who would a Knickerbocker, which I guess is a New Yorker and. Or a pair of pants rather fight. Is it a soldier? I guess. What's his Cavalier? They. When they named him that, it was because it was a contest they held. And the guy who wrote in chose Cavaliers and said that they represent a group of daring, fearless men whose life's pact was never surrender, no matter what the odds. So would you rather face against that or the thing in an engine that makes it go is a Piston. Yes.
Brady
Yes.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Brady
I think I would rather play the inanimate carbon rod of a Piston than
Katie Nolan
the Cavaliers, than a bunch of men who have said they'll never give up, no matter what.
Brady
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Although I would say if Knickerbockers. If you're looking at them as pants, I. You could really ruin a pair of pants messing around inside a car with all the grease and the oil and stuff. So the Pistons could be a scary matchup. What's this Danhausen thing? Because, Brady, I gotta be honest. I don't know who Danhausen is. It feels like everyone's in on the bit but me. So if you want to do this, I need you to explain to me, as well as casuals of the wwe, who Danhausen is, what his shtick is, and then we can talk about how this relates to the Knicks.
Brady
So Danhausen is a WWE character slash wrestler. His bit is, he is basically a really shitty demon. He is very evil, very nice. At the same time, he puts a lot of curses on people. He does a lot of comedy bits. He had a match at their last pay per view. It was like him and four little people against the Miz. Puts a lot of curses on people. That's his thing. He will tell you you are cursed. Dressed in full demon makeup. Someone commissioned a cameo of Danhausen earlier in the playoffs for the Knicks to remove a curse that he believes that had been levied from Danhausen onto Stephen A. Smith.
Katie Nolan
Because I think I saw that when he did whatever first take or whatever that was cursed Stephen A. Smith. And now they sent in a cameo asking him to remove it. Can I ask first, before you play it, can I ask, does he have a history of having curses that work? Like, is this, like, ooh, what was that guy's name who used to put curses on basketball players? And it famously worked. Ooh, ooh.
Brady
Did we have some of that? This really worked for or within, like, the WWE logic?
Katie Nolan
I'm just wondering, like, has he in the past?
Brady
He's relatively new to wwe, so this is, like, a new thing for him. For a Sports team.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Brady
But he removed the curse from Stephen A. Smith and the Knicks via cameo. The Knicks have not lost since. They have been unbeatable. They've been blowing people out. The 30 point win over the Sixers.
Chris
It was right before. It was right before their 51 win game too.
Brady
Yeah, right before the.
Chris
That was the next game after.
Katie Nolan
Interesting, because that Hawks game was. That was nuts. Nuts.
Chris
Oh yeah, yeah.
Katie Nolan
They really.
Brady
The game where I was like, all right, I'll watch this game. It's the second quarter, turn it on with 72.
Katie Nolan
22 crazy.
Brady
What do I do with that?
Katie Nolan
Do you want to play it?
Brady
Let's play. Danhausen. Yes, hello, it is I, Dan Housing here. Very nice for evil. This is for the New York Knicks. Interesting. From J. Star Housing.
Katie Nolan
Hello.
Brady
It is human monies. On behalf of all Knicks fans, please don't let them get erupt into Mr. Stephen A. Smith's curse. He can be mean, but the Knicks weren't. Please uncurse him and instead curse the Atlanta and future enemies. All right, I guess I've been paid. So the New York Knicks. I guess you can be uncursed temporarily until I decide otherwise.
Katie Nolan
Interesting. So he lifts the curse. Then they go have the best game and have been rolling since.
Brady
Unbeatable.
Katie Nolan
Kind of amazing. Lil B, the based God is who I was thinking of 2011-2016. Kevin Durant, his most famous curse, initiated after KD called Lil B whack. Durant failed to win a title with the Thunder, losing in the Finals, suffering injuries. The curse was lifted in 2016 when he joined the Golden State Warriors, Lil B's favorite team, which led to a championship. Also cursed James Harden. Cursed James Harden in this was, I think 2015 to 2017. He was cursed for allegedly stealing Lil B's cooking dance celebration without credit. This, I think was the origin. Well, I guess not. If Kevin Durant was 2011. The curse caused multiple failures for the Rockets until Lil B lifted it in 2017. So, you know, while we're doing basketball.
Chris
I never heard that. I don't know how that managed the social media, Chris. I think I was on social media pretty heavily in that period.
Brady
You missed that one time Kevin Durant called somebody whack on social media.
Katie Nolan
Okay, so the Knicks are rolling and Isabella's not even here. So we'll just move on. You know, we'd be soaking up her joy. Unfortunately, she is is soaking up. I don't know what if she's really sick. I was thought I'd make a joke about how she's just hungover from partying, celebrating her nicks, but she's probably actually sick. Okay, let's continue with the bad weekend for Philly, okay. Because Flyers got swept. Ah, it's just like to lose in the sec to get into the second round of the playoffs, both teams, to then have both of them get swept is really brutal. I can't imagine that being exciting for any of them. I guess the silver lining would be there's less overlap between hockey and basketball fans. You are rarely a die hard of both, you know, but at the same time, if you represent Philly, you have to publicly own that this happened. The Hurricanes are now still undefeated in the postseason. They won 32 in overtime on Saturday to complete the sweep. This is the first time a team has gone undefeated in the first two rounds of the playoffs since the NHL's four round seven game series format was established in 1987. And what a good year that was. Um, this is the Hurricane second straight trip to the Eastern Conference finals, the third appearance in the past four seasons. Which is a bummer because they lost game four in Philadelphia and the Flyers had brought in Christina Cook, a member of the Artemis 2 crew that we were all goo goo gaga about. What was that two months ago, six years ago, I don't remember. But she was there and I saw a picture of her holding a Gritty in an astronaut suit.
Chris
It's pretty cool.
Katie Nolan
Very cool. But it also did make me go like we didn't get an astronaut suit. And I sure would love to put our Gritty in that. So if they're selling that in the store, we would not turn it down if you sent it to us. You know what I'm saying? Gritty kind of owes us given we took such a public stance for him. I'm saying we to take the heat off of me. But it was me who took a very public stance in defense of Gritty as a mascot. Which by the way, I don't know if you guys saw, but clearly Stormy did see this clip because it was sent to me that his bio on the website was updated. So if you, if you missed it last was this last week it was yes, great. Last week the Kane's mascot came at Gritty pretty hard. Said like welcome to hell, you muppet reject. And so I was trying to defend Gritty. I went to the website to see more about the ice hog that represents the Hurricanes named Stormy. And his bio page was just a pricing schedule. Nothing. No cutesy little this is who he is and what he does. But now, that's incorrect. What's funny is I saw a comment on that video say you're lying. He has a bio on the website. And that's why I went and I checked and I saw that. Yeah, he does now. It says, stormy the Ice hog is the official mascot of the Carolina Hurricanes. Self proclaimed mayor of tailgates, chaos, and general hogwash. Equal parts fun, devious, and community minded. You know, those don't really go together, but all right. Equal parts fun, devious, and community minded. Stormy spends his days firing up caniacs, causing harmless trouble around Raleigh and showing up across North Carolina to support schools, hospitals, charities, youth programs, and local events for a nominal fee. I would have put it there. Whether he's dancing on the glass, photobombing interviews, or sneaking snacks from the media room, Stormy believes life's better when you don't take yourself too seriously. He's also deeply committed to making people smile. Unless you're a fan of the opposing team. Here's where it gets interesting. After a certain podcast host recently took issue with Stormy making money for his company, Stormy decided it was finally time to create an official website bio so everyone could better understand the hog behind the legend. Phrasing, first of all. Second of all, taking issue with Stormy making money for his company. You mean team. That's a strange way to phrase that. But the worst of it all is the final sentence. Some call. Two sentences. Sorry. Some call him a mascot. Stormy prefers entrepen hog.
Chris
Brutal.
Katie Nolan
Brutal is correct.
Chris
Yeah.
Brady
That's the syllable you replace hog with.
Katie Nolan
Entrepen. It's like you have to think about it before you say it doesn't roll.
Chris
It's not like I didn't even read that part initially because I'm like, that's nothing. That doesn't make any sense.
Katie Nolan
Entrepen boar is closer than entrepen hog. No explanation in there of what an ice hog is, if it exists or if it's made up. No explanation about why the arena, if they love him so much, sells pulled pork sandwiches. Nothing in there clears any of this up, but I did want to address that. We've, you know, we're leaving our mark across NHL official team sites across the league. Who's next? Who's next? We're coming for you.
Brady
One thing we couldn't do is get the canes to actually restock the beer skates. Yeah, after we made the big deal out, we.
Katie Nolan
We.
Brady
We applauded them for selling a skate that you can fill with beer and chug. They sold out of them in Game one and never restocked them for the rest of the playoffs.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. That's crazy. It's really crazy to have announced it, like, hey, we got this big thing. And then to be like, it was just for a game. We didn't.
Chris
Would they not have been making money from those anyway? They were selling them for, like, they weren't giveaways. Yeah. So if the problem is you can't.
Brady
There's no way you can, like, manufacture them day of. So definitely in advance, they were like, we'll get 7,000 of these, and if they sell out, so be it. And now people love them, and they're like, all right, well, we only want.
Katie Nolan
Hello. Obviously, people are gonna love them. What made you you? Basically, they were biting off of the trend of other arenas doing it, so they knew the market was there.
Chris
Why they sort of did it cooler than everyone else, too.
Brady
Now, remember who owns the Carolina Hurricanes?
Chris
Oh, yeah, exactly.
Brady
It's Tom Dundon.
Katie Nolan
Dun Dun. Dundon Dun Dun.
Brady
The owner of the Portland Trailblazers, who two weeks ago, we went through an entire narrative of how cheap it is.
Katie Nolan
I don't think. I think we've done this already on this show, but I don't think you should be allowed to own teams in different markets.
Chris
I agree.
Katie Nolan
It's such a strange. Like, you have. You should be connected to a city, and if you want to own multiple teams within that city, I guess, whatever, fine. But if you're going to go outside, like, doesn't Fenway. Or maybe they recently sold it. Fenway Sports Group owned part of the Penguins, at least for a while, and it was just like, why? What?
Brady
I mean, the commander's owner, Josh Harris, 76, is rude for the Commanders. He owns the 76ers and the New Jersey Devils. It's three different.
Katie Nolan
I don't. And that's too confusing. I get it. They're kind of close. Ish together. Ish. But I just. It confuses the mind. But, you know, on the list of things we got to fix, it's probably on the bottom. And I get that. Brady, you had a lot in here about potentially worst weekends that Philly has had. Do you want to highlight one as your favorite? We don't have time to go through all of them.
Brady
I mean, the one that seems the worst is the end of September. In 1777, Philadelphia lost both the Battle of Brandywine and they had the Paoli Massacre.
Katie Nolan
Oh, wow.
Brady
Like, Back to back. Ls and they lost control of the city of Philadelphia and the British forces for nine months.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. And the.
Brady
Also bad though, like this weekend was also bad.
Katie Nolan
The Paoli Massacre. Just for. Just in case I haven't recently refreshed
Brady
my British forces under Major Major General Charles Gray led a surprise attack on General Anthony Wayne's remaining American encampment near the Paoli Tavern in present day malvern, resulting in 53American casualties. This was after Washington had already pulled the troops out after the Battle of Brandywine.
Katie Nolan
Oh, okay. And I. And that's. And Chris, you remember that. You knew that.
Chris
Of course.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. That's a tough weekend. But this was also pretty tough, I would say.
Brady
The.
Katie Nolan
Are the Phillies getting better? No, no. And. And let's not forget when they lost,
Brady
when they lost in the playoffs, they had like one of the most heartbreaking losses because that was an. Orion Kirkering fielded the ball and threw home for no reason and they lost.
Katie Nolan
It was a terrible throw home as well. Yeah. So it's.
Brady
They lost. The Eagles lost that same day and like the Flyers lost that same day. That was a rough one.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Not, not good for Philly.
Brady
Quite as bad as the Battle of Brandywine.
Katie Nolan
Well, it depends on what you're on. Your. On what your metric is. I wouldn't say not as bad because it is pretty bad. Um, what else is going on in the playoffs? We got to talk about Wemby because we just got the news of what's going to happen from this, but let's set it up for anyone who wasn't paying attention. So Victor Wembanyama from the San Antonio spurs, who you know, because for a number of reasons, he's fantastic. But Chris has also been singing his praises as one of the more interesting players to watch and somebody that can get you into basketball if maybe you aren't a regular NBA watcher. Experienced his first career ejection from a game on Sunday in game four of the Western Conference semifinals after he threw an elbow at the jaw of Nas Reed on the Minnesota Timberwolves early in the second quarter. I mean fully like, oh yeah, with the one him right in the face, saw that he was there and then just elbow to the throat jaw of Reed while he's. He was sitting on the bench and they announced the penalty that it was upgraded to a flagrant 2, which means that he had to leave the game. He appeared to ask Harrison Barnes, his teammate, what does that mean? And had to be told like, you have to. You have to go. You can't stay. The. What I had heard was that the minimum fine for such a thing is $2,000 and that often it comes with a suspension as well. Minutes ago, found out when we were recording this that Wemby actually no fine and no suspension, which to me, a little surprising. But, Chris, I know a lot of people aren't surprised by it. Were you surprised when you heard that?
Chris
For the fine portion of it, yes. I thought that was sort of something that was mandated and that was just a foregone conclusion. As far as the suspension goes, I was probably 50, 50 heading into today. Whether he would be suspended or not. We've seen instances of, you know, elbows to the jaw resulting in suspensions, and we've seen incidences where they don't result in suspensions. I think the fact that Wemby has a pretty decent track record, this is the first time he's ever been ejected. Like, he is, generally speaking, a pretty clean player. And the fact. I don't know if this contributed at all, but it probably does. The fact that it happened early in the second quarter and he already missed
Katie Nolan
half of a game.
Chris
Missed 3/4 of a game, essentially. Yeah, sort of. That there's your almost one game suspension already in there. If it happened in the fourth. And maybe there was more of a chance that he would have been suspended for game five. But I think ultimately it's the right decision. It absolutely warranted an ejection. But I'm glad that he is available to play in the next game.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Because, you know, when it comes to suspensions from games in the post season across sports, I feel like it's treated as, hey, this would really have to be escalated to the point where we. Because it's. It's taking away a lot more than a regular season game. If you suspend somebody for the playoffs, that series is tied. Yes. As of recording this. Two, two. Game five is Tuesday night at eight. The spurs obviously lost that game that Wemby was ejected. So it's huge for them that he won't be missing any more games. Like Chris said, he missed three quarters essentially already. So that kind of was hugely, obviously, hugely impactful. And to suspend him for a whole other game would be almost too unfairly impactful in the other direction. I just feel like at least fine him $2,000. Jokic got 50,000 correct as a fine. And now again, it, It. It calls into question their history. And YIC maybe has more of this than Wemby, but he got fined $50,000 for running across the court. Right. And fighting whoever that was that he fought. So I feel like. And that was at like the end of a game. So I Just feel like a, a fine, especially $2,000 is like a drop in the bucket. It's absolutely nothing to an NBA player.
Chris
It just feels like it was definitely a strange decision. Maybe they sort of took note of all the spurs coaches and players mentioning how terribly officiated these games have been in regards to the physicality and how much the, the opposition is coming at Victor Wembanyama, which is sort of what led to the incident in the first
Katie Nolan
place, is that he was taking a
Chris
lot of contact, a lot of contact, not getting cold. And eventually it just sort of like he just hit his limit and he just had to defend himself. As a lot of spurs coaches and players were sort of saying, if the referees aren't going to take care of him, he sort of has to take care of himself. And.
Katie Nolan
Right. Mitch Johnson. Mitch Johnson said after the game officials could do a better job of protecting the 22 year old big man from the physicality routinely imposed on him by opponents. I think I saw one highlight of him like kind of being shoved, so I get that there. This is why I say fighting in hockey is the answer because that keeps this out of the. It's not completely on the refs to handle all the things being, you know, handed out from team to team. If they're picking on one of your guys, you send out your enforcer and you get that guy off of them. You, you throw down, you protect your own guy. Whereas in basketball you don't really have that. If the refs aren't making the calls, you get frustrated, that bubbles up and then oopsie, you elbow somebody in their throat, jaw and get kicked out of the game. So intense moment, exciting series. But Wemby isn't gonna have to pay any money for that. So that's the end of that story. The Lakers are down three games to none. The okc, I mean, we kind of. The Lakers weren't supposed to make it this far, right? Chris? This was like a. LeBron's doing it all and, and they weren't gonna make it this far. And it's. And OKC is expected to maybe go all the way again. So this makes sense to me the way that this series is breaking down. OKC 1 Game 3, 131 to 108 on Saturday. But Ric Flair Brady seems to have an issue.
Brady
You said, yeah, if you can't tell, I get a lot more wrestling related.
Katie Nolan
I see everything. He's like, so while we're talking basketball, can we WWE real quick?
Brady
So Ric Flair is at that point where absolutely Nothing that he posts on social media can be seen as surprising. But Rick, who has never had any connotation with the Lakers. Ric Flair the 17 time but now like 75 year old former world champion just started tweeting at Luka. Like started tweeting at Luka. Like you should be out there playing. It was every word capitalized. Luka, please get in the game, take a shot of cortisone and deal with the pain. They are paying you 50 million a year and you're not there. WTF? I hope Genie Buss trades you next year. Nobody wants a lame duck on their team. That was during game one and then Rick sat after game three. There is only one word that I can possibly say and that's disappointed. $46 million and you can't play. OMG. I would jump off the Empire State Building with a parachute for $46 million a year. I don't even know how to pull the cord open, but I would take my chances.
Katie Nolan
I think somebody would, I think somebody would teach you. I don't think you. I don't think they just let you strap the thing on and go figure it out and shove you off of a surface. I think you would be taught how to. Okay. And so we is what is wrong with Luca hamstring. And that's the one on the front
Chris
isn't really front or the back. The back.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Chris
It's not really something that you can just get a shot for and play through.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Chris
It's kind of not just about pain management.
Katie Nolan
Right. Like an actual idiot is what Chris wants to say, but he's not saying it.
Chris
It actually restricts your ability to run and you know, if it's not fully healed and you, you like you could do greater damage to it, you could make it worse and then the recovery is longer. So it's one of these injuries that you have to sort of take your time and it can be very frustrating and persistent. And you know, Luca has sought therapy. He went overseas, I think to Spain to.
Katie Nolan
For PRP therapy. Now that's where I'd like to zoom in for a second. Why do I hear that phrase being used for across multiple medical. I feel like PRP is what they call when guys get their hair something they do on their head. I've heard of women getting PRP on their under eyes. What the is prp?
Brady
It just turns your blood into super blood, doesn't it?
Katie Nolan
Okay, so it's the one that, that like plasma replacement, whatever platelet rich plasma
Brady
blood out, you spin it up and make it into super blood and you put it back in.
Katie Nolan
Is that what Bryce Harper did? We took all his blood out over in the off season when he removed his blood from his body and spun it around in a centrifuge?
Brady
Yeah, I think so.
Katie Nolan
That sounds. Yeah, yeah.
Brady
Although I think that's like prp. They like directly. It's more like a direct injection into the spot.
Katie Nolan
Got it. His was more of like a. On a grand scale, he just took a lot of his blood out before putting it back in board.
Brady
Let's. With my blood.
Katie Nolan
Geez Louise. Okay, so he went to Spain for that. The injury needs a recovery time of at least eight weeks, which means he wouldn't be available until late May or mid June. So it's not like he's is behind schedule for coming back. Ric Flair is just.
Brady
Rick had a different method of pain management back?
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I think so. And I think we're not allowed to talk about most of it, you know, and so that's where this gets a little difficult. But at least he. Look, he's got a lot of big feelings and he found a place to put them.
Brady
So I think the biggest feeling is that by the time this episode comes out, which would be tomorrow. Game four is tonight, game four is Monday. By any time anybody hears this, LeBron's career could be over.
Katie Nolan
Okay. But people keep. Do you really think.
Brady
I think if they could be. It's. It could be.
Katie Nolan
Could be.
Chris
And with the Lakers, no way he's bypassing it.
Katie Nolan
Could be with the Lake, his career with the Lakers could. That I would buy more than the. Other than that he would just retire. Like, I could. I guess I could see him leaving the Lakers. It's harder to know because of Bronny. I feel like he might want to. Would want. But I. There's no way. I would be so shocked, to the point of almost, like, impressed if LeBron were like. And. And with that, I'm out of here. I'd be like, everybody's heads would explode the same way. Like, Ovechkin would never say if he was going to leave or not. So ESPN had to run their tribute to Ovechkin package. There is no way people would lose their minds if LeBron admitted, like, was like, I'm going to walk away. And no one got to run their giant packages about how much he meant to them. People would be devastating. There's no.
Chris
LeBron wants that shit. Like, LeBron wants to go through that. It's going to happen. He's still playing incredibly high level of basketball. You know what I mean? Like, he's not washed yet.
Katie Nolan
How old is he?
Chris
41.
Katie Nolan
That's crazy.
Chris
Yeah, he's still a very good player. Why? Why, like, why retire? I just don't see him retire.
Katie Nolan
The other argument or you were just tossing it out there for entertainment's sake.
Brady
Well, I think he's definitely at the point where if the body, if he just doesn't want to do anymore, he's got nothing left to prove. He's got nothing else to do. And it's, it's become, when you get older, it becomes more and more work every day to go through training, get up and maybe the man just wants to finally go enjoy wine, finally on a yacht.
Katie Nolan
And he can do that. He does that plenty. He's a cigar aficionado.
Brady
Famously hitting the gym.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, I don't, I just don't.
Brady
He's done the thing with Bronnie. The thing with Bronnie seemed like the last frontier for his career.
Katie Nolan
No, I don't. History together the, the mindset of an elite athlete. I don't think he's like rushing to get done with bas. I think he would like to continue to play basketball until he can't anymore. And it doesn't feel like we're close to can't anymore because it was just him doing it in this postseason. So, I mean, he had help, but not his big star help. Big expensive help. So I don't know. I think it would be K Raisi personally, but I would, I welcome it. I would enjoy the absolute mayhem that it would set off amongst my peers. They would lose their minds.
Chris
Yeah, I wouldn't be. I, I, I'd want him to go around again.
Brady
I want to be able to enjoy Skip Bayless exploding.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, his head would explode. Did you see, did anybody watch the first take that he came back for on Friday? They did a one night only. Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith on first take. Nobody watched it.
Brady
I didn't watch it because every fear I had would be that they would just rehash old arguments about Tim Tebow 20, 26. And they did.
Katie Nolan
I think they did.
Brady
They saw somebody go, like, who was more right about Tim Tebow?
Katie Nolan
That's funny. I saw them, somebody say, like, having them on in 2026 to run back. Every argument they ever had was prime television. I didn't see it, but I could imagine that being the case. Last thing on the NBA before we take a quick break. The draft lottery happened. Now, look, I have said before, you're not going to Catch me caring about a draft, you are certainly not going to catch me tuning in to the drawing of the order for the draft. There's sports happening and I'll be watching those instead. But this was kind of an eventful one. So the Washington Wizards won the draft lottery. So they get the first pick in the 2026 NBA draft. It is the first time the team with the worst record has won the number one pick since the NBA revamped the lottery odds in 2019. So it wasn't even that long ago they changed these things a lot. In fact, this year is the final time the league will be using these lottery odds. They're going to implement a new system and next year. Love that. That's going well, I feel like. But the biggest news to come out of the NBA lottery was the Pacers. The Indiana Pacers. Let's break this down in a way that would make sense to even a casual basketball fan. So the Pacers had the leagues. Chris, you'll correct me if I get any of this wrong.
Chris
Sure.
Katie Nolan
The Pacers had the league's second worst record this season. So that meant that they had a 14% chance to win the top pick and a 52% chance to land a top four pick. Now, as I understand it, picks one, two, three, and four are all like separate drawings.
Chris
Correct.
Katie Nolan
Okay. And so they had enough. All their chances added together to the numbers I just said. So earlier this season, the Pacers made a trade with the Clippers that in that centered around Zubots. Is it Ivica Zubots? Yeah, Zubots. So the trade was the Pacers sent two of their first round picks to the Clippers and they got back Zubots and whoever else one of the picks was in 2029. So that one we don't even have to worry about. The other was either 2026's first round pick. So this year's, this draft's first round pick, if it fell outside of the top four picks or a 2031 unprotected first rounder. So basically, the Pacers needed to pick, get picked 1, 2, 3 or 4. And if not, then their pick was going to go to the clippers. The top four picks are drawn using lottery balls. There are 14 balls that go into the lottery machine. Four are drawn at a time. There are 1,001 possible combinations. And each team gets allotted an amount based on their record. And basically they got. They got the fifth, they got outside of the top four, which then every five through whatever goes based off record. Yes, yes.
Chris
Reverse order of the standards.
Katie Nolan
So confusing. Truly. All you need to know is that the Pacers needed to get in that top four. They didn't. So then they get the fifth pick, which then. No, they don't. It becomes the Clippers pick. And so their fans were absolutely devastated to the point where their president of basketball operations, Kevin Pritchard, like put out an apology, basically saying he was very sorry to our fans. I own taking this risk. I was surprised it came up fifth after this year. I thought we were due some luck. Please remember this team deserved a starting center to compete with the best teams next year. We have always been resilient. So that is tough, really tough for Indiana and good for the Clippers because their first round pick is actually going to the Thunder because of the 2019 Paul George trademark. So that pick ultimately slotted in at number 12, which means the Thunder, who don't need it, are picking 12th.
Brady
Crazy that you can trade picks seven years down the road.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, like 2029. What are we talking about that for 2031? How could this possibly be? I don't understand any of that.
Brady
Like none of the GMs that are making these trades have any job security to that point. So why wouldn't you just trade everything?
Katie Nolan
Yeah, hey, you guys can have our 2060 pick. That's be fine with me.
Brady
10 of them.
Chris
There are rules around how many first round picks you can get rid of in consecutive years. So that's why you see a lot of trades where it's like we give you our unprotected first round pick this year, then the following year there's a pick swap and then the year after that is unprotected first round and then it picks up after that because you have to alternate each year. It's very confusing.
Katie Nolan
If they're unprotected, then you run the risk of giving birth to a baby pick. And then things get really complicated. Really does really complicated really quickly. So. So yeah, that's the draft order and. And that's the story. I miss anything that was important about the draft lottery.
Chris
No, I think you pretty much hit everything. I think the Paces, even though they missed out on that fifth overall pick, they're going to be pretty decent next year because they're going to have Tyrese Halliburton hopefully coming back looking healthy. Zubats is a really good play. He's the player that I wanted the Celtics to target in the lead up to the trade deadline this year. Weren't able to offer the same package that the Paces did, but they will be good next year. They should be a playoff team next year regardless of the fact that they don't have their their first round pick anymore.
Katie Nolan
All right. And I'm sure that will make them all feel better. Everybody listening to this. Who's an Indiana Pacers fan, they said, well, Chris said it's going to be fine, so we'll be and at least
Chris
now they still have their 2031 unprotected first. That could have been pick one.
Katie Nolan
That's right. That's right.
Chris
That's what you got to look at.
Katie Nolan
That's right. The silver lining.
Chris
Yep.
Katie Nolan

That's so exciting. I love it. Thanks for sending me that DM about Ellie. Oh yeah, you saw that? I sent Isabella a DM of Ellie had a Bob. Ellie came out. It was Bob season. She was letting that thing. She was flipping it around and did
Brady
she come out with a Bob because Bobs are in or our Bob's now in because she came out?
Katie Nolan
No, the other. The first unfortunately. Brady. The first one and it's not Ellie's fault. She was off when Bob season, I think, started to hit. But we have been deeply entrenched in Bob season long enough that I almost got one and had to be stopped by my friends and family. So that's good. It's good. I appreciate it. But also at the same time, I'm like, I don't know. I think it would have been cute. But they insisted that it wouldn't. And I just took their word for it. The Mystics also won. So that's. That's your team, Brady. So aren't you happy?
Brady
I am. I am. I talked up Lauren Betts. Didn't have a huge impact on the
Katie Nolan
game, but that's okay. Game one. A lot of people didn't have.
Chris
Paige Becker's last season had a slow start to.
Katie Nolan
That's right.
Chris
Her season.
Katie Nolan
And Az Fudd didn't have a huge. We'll get to that in a second. But let's talk about that, because that was the first WNBA game played by a Canadian team that you beat. It was kind of rude if you think about it. Brady. They're having this big moment. Toronto tempo. It's their first game as a team. It's the first. It's the branch up into Canada for the WNBA and you guys.
Brady
It's kind of rude that it makes it feel like they scheduled the Mystics to take the L. I know.
Katie Nolan
And then they wouldn't go down without a fight. And they. And they beat them. Only by what, three? But they did beat them. 8210 fans packed the Coca Cola Coliseum for the loss. A lot of people in the building. The owners were there. The. The commissioner shout out Kathy. Everybody's favorite.
Brady
Cool with Kathy now, right?
Katie Nolan
I guess Kathy got weird at the end when she was like, you know, I'm a girl too. Girl power for me as well. And you're like, yeah, but you're on the other side of the labor. Serge Ibaca was there. Christine Sinclair, Canadian soccer darling. So a lot of people, people from the Scepters and the Maple Leafs were there, so I think it was cool. How did the Portland Fire do in their debut?
Brady
My biggest issue with the Portland Fire, I think they lost 11 front of me. My biggest issue is on their logo bug. Portland this year is PDX on the.
Katie Nolan
Like on the score bug?
Brady
Yeah, on the score bug. And like the official. On. I even went to the WNBA website. Their official abbreviation and all materials is
Katie Nolan
PDX instead of por.
Brady
Cannot. I cannot figure it out.
Katie Nolan
Well, no, the. Well, there's nothing to figure out. It's the airport code.
Brady
Is that it?
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady
Okay. I've never flown into Portland.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady
Why not just go with por?
Katie Nolan
I don't. I can't. I wonder if there's a reason that they're using the airport code instead of the.
Brady
Now they have some merch and like a secondary logo with PDX on it, but that still doesn't mean.
Katie Nolan
No, that's probably it then. It's probably like a city connect. I don't know.
Chris
They lost by 15 to the Chicago Sky.
Brady
You know what? Por might have won that game.
Katie Nolan
Oh my God. You think that's what it. You think it had that big of a.
Brady
Have you not figured out that the dumbest shit in sports will bother me to no end?
Katie Nolan
I have. I just wondered if any of this was gonna wear off or if you intended to stick to this bit for
Brady
the rest of the Portland fires. They might have won the POR fires. They would have blown out.
Katie Nolan
Well, let's talk about. Caitlin Clark is back. Okay. She's back. After a 295 day hiatus, parentheses groin to score 20 points on Saturday, the Fever fell to the wings. The 107, 104 in Indy. She missed a three in the game's final seconds that would have tied it, but didn't because she missed it. Arike Agumbawali led Dallas with 22 points. AZ Fudd three points in 18 minutes. Again, like I was saying, that's fine by me. Get out there, get a feel for it, you know, get your feet on the ground. Get you just. It's so. That's fine by me.
Brady
She was in college a month ago.
Katie Nolan
I know. And then got drafted. It's like the whirlwind of the beginning of the season, especially this year, tied to the delay because of the CBA of it all. It's just like, like get. That's fine. Az.
Brady
The school year hasn't even ended, so.
Katie Nolan
Huh.
Brady
Like hypothetically, she could still be in college. I don't. I don't particularly know if she has finished her coursework.
Katie Nolan
Surely they've come up with a solution for that.
Brady
Probably. But like, that is.
Chris
She's taking her finals.
Katie Nolan
Like, sorry, guys, I can't be at the game. I have to take my finals.
Chris
Will she email your professor asking for an extension? Like I actually have a WNBA game.
Katie Nolan
Like the, like the one from the Olympics that we saw. Does she have to. Is she gonna walk at graduation?
Brady
I hope so.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. That's interesting. I've never thought about this before. We should look into it. Caitlin Clark was busy. She joined Morgan Wallen for his concert on Saturday night. When did. I must have been not looking when he came back. Cause he's just big and back now. I'm coming to this from a non country music. I'm not like in the trenches on that. So I had thought that we all were like, yo, this guy's not cool. This is really bad. But again I turned my back and then turned back around and he's like mainstream.
Brady
Yeah. The slurs you thought would have sidelined him longer than they did.
Katie Nolan
Right. And then didn't he also like throw a chair off of. Yeah.
Brady
Out of a window or off of
Katie Nolan
a roof or something? He was like a problem them.
Brady
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
But I just, you know, I don't want to get in the weeds on this because of the. Look, We've talked before about the WNBA discourse on the Internet and especially centered around. As it centers around Caitlyn and as it pertains to the. And I do not like the way certain things happen in those circles. This I can imagine would not help is all I'll say. I just don't see how you, you, how you ensure she's allowed to do whatever she wants and can do it. But it, it just feels like when there's a narrative being written about you. I would be doing everything I could to make sure that I, I wasn't. I don't know. I don't know. I don't want to get in the weeds on it real quick.
Chris
By the way, because AZ had a red shirt. Yeah. She actually graduated last year.
Katie Nolan
Okay. Okay. So she's just been not schooling the whole time. So. Actually you should have had more than three points.
Chris
But she, but she was doing her masters this year. They walk that the same night as her debut. So she missed out on walking.
Katie Nolan
Wait, isn't a master's. Isn't it two years to get your masters?
Chris
It says Masters of Business Administrator, Masters of Business Administration.
Katie Nolan
If I can say that correctly.
Brady
If you're really good at it, you can get an MBA done quicker.
Katie Nolan
Damn. Okay, so she's really good at it. Probably. So she agrees. She thinks she's really good looking, but
Chris
at least she got to experience it last year. So there we go.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Good. Glad to. Glad. Thank you for clearing that up. Great. Chris. The. The Mercury spoiled the Aces ring ceremony. We saw that there was a rematch in the. In the finals from last year. 99 to 66. I mean, yikes. They didn't have the rings on right. They weren't like, weighed down by it.
Brady
They took them off. These rings are huge.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, they took them off. They were giant. But I, like, they had littler rings in them. If you want to wear those regular.
Chris
That's a cool idea.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, it's a good idea.
Brady
What you. What you thought of that, like, it was like, they made them special. They said women have trouble wearing these big championship rings because they're massive.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Brady
Championship rings are, like, unwearable.
Katie Nolan
I mean, men have trouble wearing them. They do it and they're happy with it, but it makes your hand very clunky, especially as people have started being like, and this part represents this, and then we have this to represent this. And there's a big picture of it. They've become these monstrosities.
Brady
On the Eagles one, didn't it fold open into a full stadium?
Katie Nolan
I do think so. I remember vaguely something. Something like that.
Brady
And now the Aces ring had the massive ring, but kind of like how like the bat cycle pops out of the front of the Batmobile. Like, they had a little tiny, like a sleeker, more feminine ring that pops out of the Giant championship ring. When Mark Davis was like, you can wear it to dinner now.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. And I listen, I love the concept, but I do want to separate. I didn't love the way it was explained, which was, there's one for the men coaches and then for the women. We always felt that they are big and they're kind of tough to wear out. Now they can wear them to dinner. It's like, well, you also. The women also get that big ring. It's not just for the coaches, but I guess I see what he's trying to say. I would rather, if it were up to me and I were getting my rings, I'd be like, can Mark Davis just call in sick and have somebody else hand it to me? I don't want to have to, like, look him in the eye and go, thank you. Great haircut, sir. Thank you. Love the way you look. It's not funny at all. It's, like, very hard to go like. And thank you to you, you weird Friar Tuck. I appreciate all of your. Thank you so much.
Brady
I'll tell you, the people who work for Mark Davis love Mark Davis.
Katie Nolan
Why is that?
Brady
I don't know, but they speak so glowingly of him. Like, yes, the haircut is weird. All of his style is weird. The fact that he dates a 20 year old and she would love me even if I weren't rich. She didn't even know I was rich when we first got Together.
Katie Nolan
Zero chance. That's true. Zero chance. Yeah. And that. Not enough to tell him to stop doing that to his hair, though. You know, like, if somebody loved me, they would stop me from getting a bob. If they loved him, they would go, hey, maybe next time we just don't put a bowl on our head and cut around the perimeter.
Brady
You don't think the Mark Davis haircut is just a flex in and of
Katie Nolan
its own self at this point? I do feel like he's just like, look, it's become iconic, so now I don't have to. But the fact that. I mean, that poor young woman wasting years of her sexual prime on this man who maybe she loves. Sorry, you're right. Leave room for the fact that maybe they're deeply, deeply. You said in her 20s, not 20, right? You said in her 20s, right? I just want to make sure even
Brady
if she is 20, I'm going to still be right.
Katie Nolan
No, if she's 20, we need to have a serious. We need to sit down and we need to talk. If she's 29.
Brady
Oh, she's in her 30s now.
Katie Nolan
She's in her 30s. Christ.
Brady
She is in her 30s.
Katie Nolan
Christ. Let's talk about Asante Samuel. That's a transition. That's what that is, is a transition. A hard transition into one of the weirder. Look, usually I like to present this stuff and go, and. And I looked into it and here's why it's going this way. This one, I got no answers. But I do want to present what has happened. So the story that will not die. Diana and Mike, Frank, whoever, is slowly the. The slow drip of the faucet of news on this story has been just unceasing. It's just a constant. Every day you go, what fresh hell have we come upon? Oh, it's pictures of them getting on a boat when she's pregnant. Oh, it's pictures of them hugging at a former event. Just constantly. News to the point where I also fear this is an issue we have with the way timelines work and the way algorithms work now. Now is that everybody has sort of served some. Something that is tailored to their previous diet of what they've clicked on and shown interest in. So the types of people who are, like, really into this storyline, they have all devolved into the point where their threads and their timelines are saying Vrabel is on the verge of resigning. And then people in the. Chris, has that even touched you in any way? Have you even heard a hint that Vrabel might even be thinking about Resigning? No, because he's got no algorithm. So people whose algorithms never touched these stories at all or who showed no interest or don't have social media would be shocked if Mike Frable were to resign. The two are getting so fur farther apart from each other in terms of what's rooted in truth that it's the story, like I said, is hard in and of itself to understand what's going on. Luckily, we don't have to know any of that to enjoy this part of it. So Asante Samuel, the two time super bowl champion all Pro cornerback back who was teammates with Mike Vrabel when they played on the Patriots 03 to 07, I believe was when they were teammates. On May 7, Asante Samuel tweets, vrabel is a faithful man. Whatever happened in the past is the past. As of today, he is a faithful man. Move on. The replies were obviously filled with people going, that doesn't make any sense. Or like saying, hey, the Browns are a winning team. Move on. Like, just because you won in the past does not mean that you are still a winning team. Just because you. You were faithful in the past doesn't mean that. With new information coming to light that that's still true. Then May 7, he continues, that was what, Friday or Thursday? He said, when I had a wife. Just again, unprompted. When I had a wife and side chick. The side piece got in her feelings, called the wife, told her everything. Got that call at work. We need to talk. Scary. Six exclamations points.
Brady
Can I be the one interject? I want to interject this. Human women. We're talking about a human women. Not the side.
Katie Nolan
The wife. The side chick. Then on May 10, Mother's Day. Question mark.
Brady
Yes, Mother's Day.
Katie Nolan
Great. Mother's Day. He tweets. He's clearly writing this like a scene. So he has entered into his screenwriting era of these tweets. It says me she lying bae. Wife. You couldn't just f the and keep it moving. She told me everything, Samuel. Me. Parentheses. Dying from the inside out. What did she say? Parentheses. We always want to know what she said. Wife. I can't believe you, Samuel. Me? Let me go wash the dishes. Moral of the story. Get you a real ninja Wife. I not gonna touch the end of that. I. Why did he think washing the dishes was gonna make it okay to cheat on his wife?
Chris
Yes, he did.
Katie Nolan
You should be washing the dishes and not cheating on me. That's kind of part of the agreement. It's one or the other. One or the other. I'm either gonna scrub these dishes. Dishes. Or I'm gonna have sex with that lady. You can't have me. Or I'm gonna not have sex with this lady. You can't have me. Do both.
Chris
I'm gonna do neither. Yes.
Katie Nolan
Right. Then in May 10, still on May 10, still, Mother's Day, in response to somebody said to him, you got a son in the NFL and you tweeting about cheating on his mom. Which is true. That is who he's talking about. The mother of Asante Samuel Jude junior. And he responded, I cheated on all my girls since elementary school. My boy. Fuck you mean? What are we doing here?
Brady
What holiday was this on again?
Katie Nolan
What Mother's Day. What are we doing here? Wha. Why would you volunteer any of this information? Also, Mike Vull is, like, not helping. You come out and you go, listen to me. That's a faithful man. And if anyone knows. Knows. Faithful. It's me, Asante Samuel, who has cheated on every girl I've ever dated since elementary school. So take my word for it. That's a good man.
Brady
I also learned from this conversation his wife refers to him by his last name, Samuel.
Katie Nolan
I can't believe you. Samuel.
Brady
Like. Like she's Belichick Samuel.
Katie Nolan
Absolutely shocking. But I guess something new and crazier will happen in this story by the time we see you now. Next. And we'll talk about that then. Can we talk about the Bad Bunny FOIA request, please? This is where I want to be today. This is where I want to spend all of my time. So TMZ submitted a FOIA request, a Freedom of Information act request, to the fcc, the Federal Communications Commission, something.
Brady
Commission.
Katie Nolan
It's the people who are in charge of what gets broadcast. And. And it's who you write into when you've got an issue with something that's been broadcast, I believe on tv, not on radio or on radio as well. Why am I. Yeah, great. Why am I getting in the weeds on that? Anyway, so TMZ submitted the request and obtained more than 2,000 complaints that were sent to the FCC following the Super bowl in February. More than 100 involved messages. That Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican superstar's performance was raunchy and all around inappropriate. We have a number of them here. I'm just going to read them in the order that we have them. Okay.
Chris
I think that's good.
Brady
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
All right. And this is. And then. And no punctuation has been changed on these. So I think a lot of them are going to be a Little tough to get through. Spoiler alert. Okay, here's the first one. The lyrics sung during the halftime show for a family event are reprehensible. They were purely about sex and drugs and eating. Ass, question mark, Exclamation point, question mark. Did anyone read the lyrics before green lighting? Never mind the dancing where men were grinding their privates into women's private areas. Well, the squatting. Why are we talking like that? Why are we talking like that? Men are grinding their privates into women's private areas. What are we.
Brady
The SEC is made of kindergartners.
Katie Nolan
Why are we talking like that? Also you. But a lot of people. The number one complaint people had was that they don't speak Spanish. So we don't. And it's. But how did this guy. All right.
Chris
Because they went online to look at what the lyrics meant in English. The.
Katie Nolan
So that they could be offended. Interesting.
Chris
Saw what it meant. Didn't realize that Bad Bunny was singing the radio censored versions of these songs and just put two and two together.
Brady
Got 17 and, like 45 second cuts of each of these songs, too.
Chris
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Truly. I don't think he got to all of these, did he? I don't think he got to the eating of the ass in the halftime show.
Brady
I'm not super lingual in the world of Spanish.
Katie Nolan
But he has this way.
Brady
Don't think he made it.
Katie Nolan
He has this way. Lingual. When talking about. I am. This is another one. Numerous sexually explicit descriptions in song. I love when people write into a form to write their complaints. They feel like they shouldn't write in full sentences. Numerous sexually explicit descriptions in song. Even though these were sung in Spanish. And it was very explicit and suggestive towards the mistreatment of women. This is unacceptable. But spelled acceptable. Like, except E, P, T, which is not what I think you're trying to say. Which is acceptable. Acc. Okay.
Chris
And then the next one's my favorite.
Katie Nolan
Okay, here we go. I am disgusted. I didn't watch the Super Bowl. I didn't watch the super bowl, but I heard they had two men humping one another.
Brady
That's the centering quarterback. Every play.
Katie Nolan
So I had to verify this information of. Yeah. So I was so offended by. I went and looked it up and. And it's true. You want that crap on tv? Do it after midnight. Young boys watch the super bowl and they don't need to see that crap. I don't care if it's a man and woman either. Okay. So I guess it came around to being inclusively backwards at Least he's against it for both. But that is. I didn't watch, but when I heard two boys were humping, I looked at. I ran to my computer and I googled, show me those two boys humping. And I. They. They did hump. And so I watched that for. I watched that for about three hours. And when I felt I had seen enough, I wrote this, an angry message about how that happened. Okay. And then the last one we have, I'm 99% certain. I love when anybody starts anything out with, I'm 99% certain that the quote, unquote, artist, quote, unquote bad Bunny used racial slurs to disparage white people during the halftime show. He's absolutely. Is this real?
Chris
Yes.
Katie Nolan
He's absolutely speaking some demonic tongue. That should be banned. Thank you. And RIP Charlie Kirk and Charles Sneed. What? That has to be. That has to be somebody trolling. Why would you write.
Chris
Could be. But the fact that it's hard to tell is. Is sort of the story kind of
Katie Nolan
the state of where we're at.
Brady
Also the fact that I googled RIP Charles Sneed. The only hit is this complaint.
Katie Nolan
What? Who is.
Brady
No idea who this is. Charles Sneed.
Katie Nolan
What? All right, well, they're. They were both resting, so he's absolutely speaking some demonic tongue. And it's just Spanish. That's crazy. Okay. So that's. You know, people were upset. Even if they didn't watch, they went and found something to be upset about. And that's one of our greatest exports as a country. The United States is being offended by something. So glad to see we're keeping that alive. We got a voicemail this week suggesting an incredible Woman of the Week, a segment that we are. Are pretty faithful, too. I think we do those every week. Right. When's the last time we did one of these? Weeks ago. And today we do it without one of our women. So tough. But this was a really good story, so we wanted to put it in here. Chris, do you want to play that? Voicemail?
Chris
Yeah. Let's have a Listen.
Brady
Hi, Katie McCausalties.
Katie Nolan
This is Kush from Atlanta, Georgia.
Brady
I'm calling to submit a Woman of the Week in the Bundesliga this weekend. Mary Louise Etta became the first woman in a big five league to get a win. SC Union Berlin appointed her manager about
Katie Nolan
four games ago, and she got her
Brady
first win, a 31 victory as the interim head of Union Berlin.
Katie Nolan
And next season, she'll be taking charge
Brady
of the women's team.
Katie Nolan
But a great achievement for her and.
Brady
And for possibly the future of women's
Katie Nolan
coaching in the big five soccer leagues.
Brady
Love you mean it.
Katie Nolan
Love you mean it. It was Kush.
Chris
Yes, I think so.
Brady
Kush.
Katie Nolan
Kush from Atlanta. That's a sick name. Yeah. Mary Louise Eta became the first female head coach to win a game in European soccer's top five men's leagues in Bundesliga. Amazing and incredible. She had a draw and two losses before Sunday's win. I hadn't missed completely that a woman was in charge of a Bundesliga club. I not getting my Bundesliga updates, apparently. This would be one. This is where I go, what's up with the algorithms? What would make them think. Put this in my. Am I not clicking in ways that would make this.
Brady
Ric Flair's not commenting on.
Katie Nolan
I mean, that's not. Yeah, of course there's no WWE angle, so Brady's excused. And Chris doesn't have social media.
Chris
Yeah. My daughter's not talking to me about
Katie Nolan
Bundesliga, even though it's, I think, the most fun of the league to say. I do think Bundesliga is the most fun.
Brady
Serie A being the least fun because it's. It's just.
Katie Nolan
Oh, a league. I also feel like league. I don't like that either. So there's a lot of bad.
Chris
What about a league? The Australian league is just a league.
Katie Nolan
That's fine. Not European, though, you know? No, more like you're a pooping.
Brady
Shout out, Mary, Louisiana.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, shout out. Woman of the week, for sure. Absolutely for sure. It's almost a little. A bit of a bummer that she already has a job lined up for next year, because then you go, well, then it's definitely going to be interim. Right. There's no chance that she stays on, but it is a cool. It's very cool. And hopefully a step in the right direction towards something more permanent and cool in the future. But shout out to her. That could not have been easy. And I love that. Okay. And then Brady, this last one, this is where things could really go off the rails. But Brady mentioned in our production meeting today, he's like, did you see that Vanderbilt, Missouri college baseball game? And I was like, that's very sweet of you, but no, obviously not. And he said something crazy happened. And I said, well, why don't you say that it. And then you can tell it to Chris and I live on the podcast. We've arrived at that part of the podcast. Brady, take it from here.
Brady
I'm going to tell a long winded story of just a crazy thing that happened in sports that was like, mind Blowing that. It went this way. So Vanderbilt baseball, one of the great college baseball programs, they've given multiple number one picks over time, like Dan B. Swanson, David Price, like huge baseball factory. They are in trouble. They are potentially facing the end of the longest active postseason streak in the country. They've been in the postseason 19 straight years and they just got screwed. Friday night, they're at Missouri. It's the start of a three game series and they need to win every game. They need to win every game. They need to show in the SEC tournament just to get there. Friday night they're up 61 in the eighth inning and they, they give up six runs. Whoa, not good. They're down 76 going into the top of the. And that's when things got crazy. Okay, a. A fog, like a poetic fog rolled into the stadium in Missouri. Like a Scooby Doo cartoon fog where you could literally not see the outfield fence from the home plate camera. You could barely see like the catcher from behind the pitcher.
Katie Nolan
Whoa. This fog was. Is this common in St. Louis? I don't think of.
Chris
Of.
Brady
I don't think so. Like, this is like London or San Francisco. You would say this is a hell of a thick fog. Yeah, they kept playing the game. And top of the ninth, Corbin Reynolds leads off. He singles for which.
Katie Nolan
Sorry. Oh, sorry.
Brady
For Vander. For Vanderbilt. Okay, Corbin. And these are the most Vanderbilt names possible. Corbin Reynolds singles. Brody Johnston.
Katie Nolan
Great. Incredible.
Brady
And up comes Braden Holcomb.
Katie Nolan
Oh, my God.
Brady
Holcomb had already homered once. He hits a bomb to deep right center field so far. Bomb to deep right. The ball disappears into the fog. Like he hits it. The camera behind home plate cannot pick it up.
Katie Nolan
Right.
Brady
The outfielders can't find it.
Katie Nolan
So it's a home.
Brady
So Bryn Holcomb is running. He gets to second, he gets the third. And he's crossing home plate. This ball, you know it's a home run. He makes it all the way around. 8 7, Vanderbilt. Top of the night. They're going to come back and win the thing. The umpires meet for like several minutes. They called the SEC office to get a ruling on this. They called it a ground rule double. What ties the game for Vanderbilt? Instead of giving them a two run lead and they post. They called the game right there. They postponed.
Katie Nolan
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Brady
Okay, so finally, too much fog. We're gonna postpone this and finish it tomorrow.
Katie Nolan
And so it would pick up the next day with a runner on second, a runner on third. However many outs Yep.
Brady
Okay, but here's the thing. This ball to right center, they have trackman data on it. So, like the radar that is checking the ball, like the analytics software says that this thing went 108 miles per hour off the bat, went 379ft. Clears any part of that stadium analytics folks are on Twitter. They're going nuts. They're like, yeah, this ball's absolutely out. A fan tweeted later that they found the ball that had rolled up against, like, the football building. Like it had cleared the stadium and rolled.
Katie Nolan
But that's. Could be SEC officials. That's. It's the tracking data, to me, that is like, that should be the thing. How quickly can they get. They must get it quick because they say on a broadcast with the exit velocity of a. I guess on the broadcast. Yeah. So it should be. They should be able to project the launch angle and the. That's crazy.
Brady
They said that after video review, the call on the field for a ground rule double was upheld because they had no video evidence. And it's not written into their rules that they can use the track, man.
Katie Nolan
So I get it. So when they resumed it the next day, did they win?
Brady
They did not.
Katie Nolan
Okay, they lose the first game, so. But they could still win the series.
Brady
Even in the top of the 10th. Vanderbilt, tied at 7, tried to steal home to win the game, and the umpire botched that call.
Katie Nolan
Also,
Brady
they ruled the runner out when he was safe. And then they ruled that the pitch, which had not been strike three, was then strike three on the batter is a whole mess.
Katie Nolan
What?
Brady
Vanderbilt lost that game. Missouri walked it off, and Missouri won two of three of the series. Just insane that this ball that disappears into the fog gets the same ruling as a ball that had, like, stuck in the fence or had an. There's no rule for this. And they were just like, all right, ground rule.
Katie Nolan
Okay, so does this feel like this should be the catalyst for them making a rule that if a fog so dense rolls in to your baseball game and the ball can't be found, but is suspected to have been hit over the fence, we will consult the track ball data and make a call. That seems like somebody should be lobbying to get that written into the rules. Otherwise, why track the ball? What's the point of tracking the ball? All great, tell me the exit velocity, tell me the launch angle. But at the end of the day, if that information could help the outcome of a game, use it.
Brady
You can't just have the outfielder out there be like, I don't know where the this thing went. Must be a double.
Katie Nolan
That's kind of nuts.
Brady
Sorry, Commodores.
Katie Nolan
And so they're out. They're not. They. Their streak ended.
Brady
They're not out out yet.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Brady
Like, they still have Selection Sunday coming up, but it's not looking good.
Katie Nolan
Damn, that sucks. Sorry. To Corbin Reynolds, Brody Johnston and Braden Hul. That's a real bummer.
Brady
There was one year they had three first round picks. They were Dansby Swanson, Walker Bueller and Carson Fulmer.
Katie Nolan
Crazy. It's really shut out. Vanderbilt. All right, well, that's a bummer. I feel like maybe I should have put something small. That wasn't a bummer here. So we could take a break on it. But we'll just. What? Sorry, Vanderbilt. What? Chris?
Chris
Yeah, it's a bummer. But like all. All reigns like that have to come to an end eventually. It's not the worst thing in the world for most of college baseball. They're probably celebrating the fact that Vanderbilt are not going to make it. So we can turn it into a positive story.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. Good job. That was really good. I thought you meant rain like fog. I was like, what does he mean, rain? It's not rain, it's fog, but I get it. Okay, we're gonna take a break. When we come back, the aforementioned Chris, who turned that into a positive story. Well, he's gonna tell you what you can watch if you wanted to watch a little bit of sports. This week. Katie Nolan
We are Marines.
Brady
We were made for this.
Katie Nolan

Shout out Isabella all right, let's Chris, you do a really good job with this, telling people what we can watch if we want to watch some sports. What do we have this week?
Chris
Well, let's start with the NHL playoffs. We haven't spoken much about the NHL playoffs so far. On today's episode, we have a series that is tied at two apiece. That is the Anaheim Ducks against the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Game five of that series, because it's currently tied at Tourpeace, is on Tuesday at 9:30pm Eastern on ESPN. That will be tonight for most people listening to this, so make sure you tune into that. The other series so far. We obviously know that the Hurricanes are through after sweeping the Flyers, but Colorado is up 21 against Minnesota. Game 3 will be tonight our time on Monday, so most people will know about the result of that when they're listening to this. And Montreal is up 2:1 against Buffalo. Game 3 is on Tuesday, also at 7pm Eastern on ESPN.
Katie Nolan
I know Buffalo get it together. You know, they're like, it's not going so well in the series. But that is a fun series for home crowds. The Montreal crowd and the Buffalo crowd are like two of the best in hockey, so that has been a thrilling watch for anybody who is relatively neutral. Okay, cool. What else?
Chris
On Friday, we have the college softball regionals. Specifically, we have number nine, Florida State. This is the team that Issa Torres plays for. We're talking about Issa Torres a lot this season following how incredible she's been playing throughout the season. She's actually dropped from first in the in batting average. Her batting average to third. She's only hitting.542 now.
Brady
We cursed her.
Katie Nolan
Disgusting. Pathetic. Why even show up to the games.542.
Chris
So they are playing Stetson in the Tallahassee Regional. That'll be on Friday.
Katie Nolan
My high school best friend. Friend went to Stetson. I visited.
Chris
So who you got a root for?
Katie Nolan
Stetson.
Chris
Stetson or Isa Torres is Florida State?
Katie Nolan
I don't know. I'll have to see. When is it?
Chris
You'll be happy either way.
Katie Nolan
Yeah, yeah.
Chris
You'll be happy either way. But guess what? We get to pop a noona because that game is on at 12pm Eastern on Friday. You can watch it on ESPN. You Florida State coming off an ACC title as well. So they've had a very nice season so far.
Brady
Shout out Megan Grant from UCLA National. Home run record. 38 home runs over the weekend. Weekend.
Katie Nolan
Damn.
Brady
Hit her 38th. Yeah. Single season home run record.
Katie Nolan
I was like, she hit 38 home runs over the weekend.
Brady
No, I phrased that was really poor.
Chris
Like two games,
Katie Nolan
bro. Yeah. And shout out Stetson. The first place I think I ever had Einstein Brothers Bagels. They had one on. They had one on campus.
Brady
Is that the one, I don't know, with the buzzsaw that shoots the bagel down the down the thing?
Katie Nolan
Could be, I don't know, Remember much. All right, and then we got a third thing.
Chris
We got the Preakness Stakes on this Saturday at 4pm Eastern on NBC. And Peacock, unfortunately, Golden Tempo, the winner of the Kentucky Derby, will skip the Preakness Stakes, instead focusing on the Belmont Stakes. So we're not going to get a chance of watching the Triple Crown.
Katie Nolan
And I'm. And I bet there's a good reason. I bet that, like, horse knowers, like ball knowers, horse knowers would be like, yeah, if there's this, then you've got a rest to get the better chances of. But to me, you win the first one, I want to see you in the second one. I want to root for you to win all three of them. Is the horse, like, hurt or something?
Chris
I, I, they just made the decision. They, they released a statement, I think at some stage last week, maybe towards the end of last week. Just saying that. I know know they know a lot of people were looking forward to potentially seeing a Triple crown or a horse going for the Triple Crown, but they are making the decision to just shut down the horse and focus on Belmont Stakes. So it doesn't sound like it's injured or anything like that. I just think it's about disappointing. Resting.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Chris
And disappointing us.
Katie Nolan
They just want to. They. We can't have nothing.
Chris
Yeah.
Brady
Is coming at you live from Laurel park in Maryland.
Katie Nolan
Okay.
Brady
I was going to say they are renovating Pimlico.
Katie Nolan
Oh, I didn't realize that. That. What are they going to do?
Brady
Significantly less nice.
Katie Nolan
Well. And isn't pre.
Brady
No.
Katie Nolan
Because I live there isn't Pness the one where they go nuts in the infield.
Brady
Yeah. But they've really tempered that down. They like they made it so it's much harder to run across the tops of Porta Potties.
Katie Nolan
That was there, right?
Brady
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Yeah. For those who don't know, there was. I remember that somebody running sprint multiple people. It was like a thing. They were running. Sprinting across the top of the outhouse is just a brutal but incredible display of athleticism that now the powers that be won't allow us to have because we can't have anything. No golden tempo and no running of the Porta Potties.
Chris
I'm also disappointed the the biggest horse race in Melbourne at least is the Melbourne Cup. Of course, it's on the first Tuesday of every November and we get two days off for that. There are two public holes holidays that we get. We get the Monday and the Tuesday of Melbourne cup off.
Katie Nolan
Why?
Chris
And over here we don't get any days off just because it's tradition.
Katie Nolan
Not at all. For a horse race. You guys have nothing else going on.
Chris
For a two minute horse race we get Monday and Tuesday.
Katie Nolan
That's absurd. We don't even get days off for the Super Bowl.
Brady
We don't get days off to vote.
Chris
Yeah.
Katie Nolan
You guys get two days off for like a tiny little horse race.
Chris
Oh, yeah.
Katie Nolan
And then do you feel obligated to watch it?
Chris
Yes.
Katie Nolan
Yeah.
Chris
But most people are in pools and things like that. Jeez. Yeah.
Katie Nolan
Oh, yeah. Because November for you is warm.
Chris
Exactly. It's a big deal.
Brady
No, I think he met a gambling pool.
Katie Nolan
Oh, yes. I thought you meant like sitting poolside. Well, both.
Chris
Really. Both. But yeah. Most people just like, you know, at least at your work. Check in five bucks. Everyone pulls out a.
Katie Nolan
At your work where you ironically are not on the day of the race because we get two days off.
Chris
Yeah. So it's harder to get into horse racing here when I'm not.
Katie Nolan
They're not giving you anything.
Chris
I'm like, what's. What's the point?
Katie Nolan
And you can't run on the Porta Potties. Why would I even care, you know?
Brady
Golden Tempo, by the way, great name
Katie Nolan

Katie Nolan
Stephen Coletti. Stephen, you're talking to a certified owner of season one of Laguna Beach. I'm an OG Stephen Head. I didn't even know he was on. Wasn't he on a show? Wasn't he on, like, One Tree Hill? I didn't even know that. And when he was credited that way in Traders, I was like, what is that a different guy? It looks exactly like. And it isn't a different guy. I know him from Laguna Beach. You know him from Laguna Beach. Steven will be here to talk about, I don't know, sports and Traders. I assume, you know he's got a new show and. A new show. What is it?
Brady
Oh, God.
Katie Nolan
We'll talk about it when we get him. Why? Why waste it, you know? Okay, we love you. We mean it. We'll see you later in the week. Bye.
Brady
The wrongs we must right. The fights we must win. The future we must secure together for our nation. This is what's in front of us. This determines what's next for all of us. We are Marines. We were made for this.

Chris recommends:
For listeners and non-listeners alike, this episode offers a signature “Casuals” blend: smart but silly takes, deep sports context, and recurring inside jokes. The panel’s chemistry fuels a friendly, conversational flow—especially when mocking hyper-serious fandom, league quirks, or the sheer bizarre side of sports news.
