Okay, you guys, well, welcome back to another episode of K and Tie Breakdown. I am super excited to have Elle with me again. Thank you. If you guys remember, if you've listened, we did a two part with Elle a few months ago and I felt like we could talk forever. Seriously. It was. It was a lot of fun and it was great. So people are probably gonna wonder where Tyler is. He is in California for his grandmother's celebration of life. So he's not home at the moment. Ry is taking a nap. Nova's downstairs with Veda. So you know, we're good. But if there's any interruptions, that's why. Cuz mom's doing it by herself. Yeah, mom love doing it. Literally I'm doing it by myself. But do you have any special things going on for Mother's Day? Do you guys ever do anything special or is it just chill?
Elle
We were wanting to have like a pool party here at the house. That's really all that I wanted. I was like, I just want to have all the kids here and have a pool party and cook. Cook hamburgers. It's supposed to rain tomorrow.
Kate
Of course.
Elle
I know. So I'm like, I guess we'll just hanged out at the house and grill hamburgers and that'll be it. Yeah.
Kate
Well, thank. You know, at least it's warm where you're at already to swim, because in Michigan it's still cold as heck. I've been. My pool is open finally, but I've been, like, filling it. And we live on a well, so I had to get, like, this big hose filter, and I'm trying, and it's actually. My water is, like, perfectly awesome and, like, clear. Thank God, because I was worried about that. But if you live in the country like we do, and you pay to have water dumped, like, I don't know if you had to do that or not or if you were able to just fill it, but last year it cost me like $1300 just for water to fill my pool.
Elle
I'm nervous because we. So this is our first summer living in this house with a pool. So we were like. And it hadn't been open in two summers, which I didn't know that. I thought it was open last summer. So we were trying to get by with not, like, emptying it and refilling it. So we tried to just, like, treat it and clean it, but we ended up having to, like, drain it and refill it.
Kate
Oh, you did?
Elle
And I'm. Yeah. And I'm like, how much is this gonna make our water bill? Like, I'm kind of nervous, you know? Yeah, I guess we'll see.
Kate
But I was gonna say it's like a find out and wait. Yeah, well, because we have to, like. I have to pay for, like, big semi trucks. They go to the city, they fill up their water tanker, and then they come out to my house and they hook a hose up to, like, a fire hose, and then they run it and they dump it into my pool.
Elle
Yeah. Wait, what? Why? Okay, because.
Kate
Because we live in the country, and a lot of people don't like to put well water in their pool because of the hardness. And if you're, you know, like, depending on how hard your water is, they also say it's like, if you have a shallow well versus a deep well, you can, like, run your well dry or you can make your well pump burn up. But this year, I said, I'm gonna. I'm gonna freaking test it. I bought a big old. I like, chat GBT'd it. Thank you, chat GBT. And. Yep, same. And they offered, like, this huge, like, it's like A huge black filter you hook up to your hose. And so I just followed all their steps. And my water's clear. And I've just been running it at night time when nobody's using water in the house. And it's been filling it up slowly but surely. But if I can get it for free, because I live on a well, so my well water is free. Like, I'm gonna try. So I'm gonna try it. This is the first year, and we shall see.
Elle
But that's definitely better than having to pay for trucks that come out and bring you your water. Like you said, you paid 1300.
Kate
Yes.
Elle
That is insane. I.
Kate
For water.
Elle
For water. For water.
Kate
Literally, just for water. Yeah. So it's just gonna be me and the kids tomorrow for Mother's Day. We're just gonna hang out. We don't have too much. We don't have too much. I mean, they're all kind of little stuff.
Elle
Keep it simple. Honestly, like, I'm very much a. Like, let's just stay at home and hang out. Like, yeah, as long as all my kids are here. That's. That's horrible.
Kate
I know, right? Same, same. Well, that sounds fun. I did. I know that. I know that you like live stream when you watch some certain shows, and so there's a particular show that I wanted to talk with you about because I think it's funny. People probably like, okay, well, I'll jump into that. But I love watching Unexpected. I watch every season, every show. Like, I love it. It's just interesting to me and I find it funny. And people might find it funny because I was on a show very similar for a very long time, and I never watched any of it. Not a. Not a single episode. Like, I've seen clips and stuff at reunions and all that kind of stuff. But, like, I have never watched our show. But I love Unexpected. I love watching it, so I think it's kind of funny. But I noticed that you live stream it a lot and, like, do group lives and stuff. So this season. So if people haven't watched it, this season, I felt like was a very good season. I liked a lot of the stories. I loved a lot of the relationships. Like you have Mama G with Jose and then their daughter. Like, I loved their story. I love how Mama G is like this protector of Jose and even though
Elle
that's not her kid, like. Right. I love that.
Kate
Yeah, me too. Like, she really supports him and loves him and knows, like, it's important for he wants to be a part of his kid's. Life. And I don't know, just a lot of the stories that I loved, a lot of stories hit me really hard. Like, you have Mia on there with her dad and Mia's story with her mom. Just.
Elle
I feel like you can relate to that.
Kate
Oh, my gosh. L. There was so, like, so many of these interviews I watched when she's sitting down with her mom and they're asking them questions, and I can just see it on her face or the way that her mom acts. And I'd be yelling at Tyler and I'd be like, that, mom is. There it goes. She's putting it on her, like, oh, you know, it's because of you that, I don't know. You don't tell me anything. Or just like, I felt so bad for her, and I could relate on just so many different levels and so. But there's one couple in particular which has got, I think everybody that has watched it a little flabbergasted and shocked, and that's Bella and Hunter Story. I know before the season aired, you know, we were seeing teaser clips and stuff, and they were talking about just the age alone, I think had a lot of people tripping because he was 12, right? Yeah, she was 13.
Elle
She was 14 when she got pregnant.
Kate
Oh, okay. She was 14.
Elle
Yeah. He was 12 when.
Kate
Oh, 14 to 12. Yep.
Elle
He was 12 when he got her pregnant. But they found out like, a week after he turned 13. That's how Bella, like, she did a video and she was like, everybody's talking about he was 12, but he had actually just turned 13 when we found out.
Kate
Wow.
Elle
Doesn't make it any better.
Kate
Like.
Elle
No, it just turned 13.
Kate
And then I was. I was going into it. I'm like, okay, this is really, like, already kind of cringy to me. Like, literally like a 12 year old and a 13 year old. You know, it was already kind of just. I don't know how to feel. I just didn't feel good about it.
Elle
I feel like so many people related to y' all show, but it's. I mean, it kind of is, but it's not.
Kate
It's different.
Elle
Yep. Yeah, it is different. Because with y' all show, it was like 16 and up. I mean, some of the people were 18.
Kate
Yeah, right.
Elle
On this show, they have a somebody that was 12 when he got his girlfriend pregnant. So there is a big difference in. In that regard.
Kate
Yeah.
Elle
With age, like, they're bringing on much younger people.
Kate
They are. Which is scary and sad, honestly, in my opinion. But I. I went into the show. Like, I'm just gonna watch it. I'm gonna try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Like, you know, teens mess up, whatever. Hopefully they make great decisions, you know, kind of rooting for him on the sidelines and stuff or whatever. And then you get introduced into their. Their family and how their family works. And although. And all just the dynamic and stuff. And off rip it was just red flag, red flag, red flag. As a mom and as a viewer and as somebody who was a, you know, a teen mom herself, the first thing that just irks me about a lot of these shows that you do watch, like, even my show and unexpected, one of the things is, like, parents allowing their young children to spend the night with their boyfriends or whatever. And in an unexpected, they showed, like, how Hunter's mom literally lived across the street from Bella's house and the fact that they were just, like, letting them sleep together and spend the night.
Elle
He basically lived there from what I'm gathering at this point. He basically lived with Bella.
Kate
Right. And. And so in my mind, I'm like, what are these there? These parents are asking for this to happen, you know?
Elle
Well, I think it's come out that Fallon was pretty much encouraging.
Kate
Okay. And I was having a conversation with Tyler the other night in bed, and it clicked for me. And I was like, this makes sense, because if people don't know, like, some court documents have been released with this whole Hunter's dad filing for custody and stuff. And there was one on there, and you probably know more details of it, but wasn't it, like, the grandfather or something, his text messages stating about how Phelan was like, this was a plan of hers or whatever, you know, for her daughter to get pregnant and be on TV in some way, shape or form. And then it clicked when I was in bed, because we were talking about their whole story, and I looked at Tyler and I was like, oh, my God. I was like, you know what's crazy is that Bella's sister was pregnant at the same exact time. Both of their daughters were pregnant at the same exact time. And in my mind, I'm like, they did have it all planned, in my opinion, Because I'm like, that's what it seems like. I was like, they're both pregnant at the same time. And then she gets on TV and just. It blows my mind.
Elle
It blows my mind even more. Evidence that this is what Fallon wanted is the tweets that were uncovered, like, last week is Fallon was first that they were. Sarcasm discovered that she was Obsessively tweeting Justin Bieber.
Kate
Okay, see, those are the only ones that I dug into. Other than that, I have no clue, so you'll have to fill me in.
Elle
Okay. You don't know the ones that she was tweeting about, you guys?
Kate
No.
Elle
Okay. Yes. She was crazily tweeting about Team mom and tagging you guys in Kale and Leah and Chelsea and Papa Randy.
Kate
Like, so everybody. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah.
Elle
She was literally. Yeah, like, she was obsessed with the show Team mom too. And you guys, and I have some of them, but I was like, she clearly was obsessed with fame and in some way she wanted to become famous. And I guess in her eyes, she was like, I love the show Team Mom. Maybe I can. Because in the court documents, Hunter's dad, Casey, he used a text message that was given to him by. By Bella's grandfather. Bella's paternal grandfather messaged him and said, like, oh, I wish you the best of luck. The last three times I had been to Fallon's house before me and my wife left, she made comments about Bella and Hunter being so cute, that they would have the cutest babies and they need to hurry up and have a baby because she wanted to quit her job to be a stay at home grandmother. And he said this was before Bella got pregnant, that she made comments like that on three different. Three different occasions. Wow. So I definitely think she was obsessed with celebrities and the idea of fame. And once she had daughters, you know, she looked at Teen mom and she was like, oh, like, maybe I can get them on Team mom or maybe I can get them on something if they get pregnant early. And we don't know much about Emmy, you know?
Kate
Yeah, not too much. Right, right.
Elle
Who knows if when Emmy was that age, if she was telling me like, oh, here's condoms. Go have sex with your boyfriend. Like, we don't know that. I wouldn't be shocked to find that out, though.
Kate

So you're gonna put that on your child, let alone even like your, what, 14, 13, 14 year old child to have to potentially, I mean, statistically talking, struggle for the rest of their lives to even try to make ends meet. That's sad to me. And it's funny that you say about her wanting to quit, her failing, the mom wanting to quit her job and stuff, because that's exactly what she did. And when they, you know, later on in the season, which talks about like, oh, if you guys have another baby, yada, yada yada, she's like, you know, it's going to be even harder for me and yeah, you know, I'll stay at home. It's like, what? And then if you. So there was a couple things after Bella had Wes, I mean, that were even more shocking to me. Like, for instance, the shower scene.
Elle
Okay.
Kate
The shower part after. As a parent of daughters, which is the same as Phin and her husband pretty much just. I was shocked, and I think a lot of people maybe watched it and didn't get as shocked. I don't know how you couldn't. But I was like, you're literally. She just had a baby. She had a C section. She's a teen mom. They're super young. And then you're gonna let him go shower with her. And she was so. Phelan was so natural on about it. She was like, oh, he's gonna help you in the shower and take a shower with you. She's like, yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. The Not. Not in my house.
Elle
That's the thing is the people that were shocked, they were floored. But then other people, because I post about it, and this was one of the things that I posted about and I talked about, people were like, well, she already had the baby. What do you think she's. What do you think they're gonna do? Like, have sex right after she had the baby? Well, now we know that they did start having sex right after she had the baby.
Kate
That's gonna be my next point. Exactly.
Elle
Yeah. And two, my thing is, like, somebody else said, well, several other comments was like, well, he did get her pregnant, so the least he could do is help her. I'm like, yeah, he got a baby so he could help her by staying out and rocking the baby.
Kate
He could tend to the baby.
Elle
Why she took a shower and while her mom helped her.
Kate
That's exactly what I said. Oh, exactly. Because I was like, oh, hell, hell, no. Hell, no. I don't care if you guys are sexually active and you already had a baby. That doesn't. In my opinion, it doesn't make you grown and that you can just play house under my roof. You know what I mean? Like, there ain't no way in hell mom will be in there and I will help you. Or you could ask your sister or something, but he's not gonna get in the shower with you and help you bathe.
Elle
I was 18 when I had my daughter, and my mom would have never. Like, he. He came to the hospital, my daughter's dad. And when I did take a shower, me and my mom, like, when I went to the bathroom, it was me and my mom. Like, my mom held me. He stayed in the room, which he ended up leaving. And all, like, wasn't there the whole time. But even though we had just had a baby, like, my mom Wasn't like, michael, come help me. You know, like.
Kate
Right, right.
Elle
Shower her. Come help me. Because, you know, you have a baby, like, there's things. When you use the bathroom, there's things you got to do before you can, you know, and it was my mom helping me. It wasn't. My mom would. Even. If he would have been like, oh, let me. My mom would have been like, no, I got it. I'm her mom.
Kate
Like, Right.
Elle
She's young. I'm her mom. I'm gonna do this for her.
Kate
And you've had babies before, you know, your mom. This is my first baby. Like, yeah, I'm gonna ask my mom, you know.
Elle
Right. Yeah.
Kate
And also, too. What comes to my mind, too, is, like, her dad, he tries. Bella's dad tries to act like he's so hard and he's so against all of these things, but then you're letting all of these. This stuff play out right in front of your eyes and right underneath your roof, like you always say. Yeah.
Elle
If, in my opinion, Bella's dad, Chris is all talk. He is. There's nothing behind that. He's like a little Chihuahua. Like, oh, there better not be a second baby. There was a first, and you said nothing about a first. So. What do you mean? They're sleeping in your house? They even said, oh, our parents know what we do. My dad just don't hear about it. So you're. Don't. Don't talk this big game like, oh, if she gets pregnant again. No, she should have never got pregnant. And any dad that really felt that way would not have allowed a first pregnancy.
Kate
Right.
Elle
They wouldn't have allowed their daughter's boyfriend to stay the night at their house. They wouldn't allow their daughter's boyfriend to shower with her. So Chris likes to talk a big game. Like, he would do something. He wouldn't do nothing. That dude ain't about nothing.
Kate
I totally agree. Because you're right. She's. She's already in this situation because you allowed certain things to happen.
Elle
100.
Kate
And. And that's the thing. Like, I'm trying to. With my daughters. I'm trying to learn from the mistakes and. And do differently from the mistakes that I made as young adult and the adults around me, you know, like, for instance, Kim, you know, Tyler's mom, bless her heart, like, she would let me spend the night there, all the things. Because I didn't have a very good life. Childhood, whatever, home life. So, yeah, there was many times where she would let me spend the night, but she would Say, Tyler, you're sleeping in the spare bedroom. Caitlyn, you're sleeping in his room. You are not allowed to sleep together. You're not allowed to. Nothing like that. Yeah, okay. Like, bless her heart, she was trying to do help me. Okay. And I understand that, but we were teenagers, and teenagers always find a way around. They were sneaky. We're gonna find a way about doing it, or you know what I mean?
Elle
So same thing. My boyfriend was allowed to stay with me. I was allowed to stay with him. And at first, when it first started happening, we didn't because we were like, oh, we're so scared that they're letting me stay here.
Kate
Yeah, right, right.
Elle
As time progressed, like, oh, he was sneaking in and out of the room, and, you know, before his parents woke up, he was hurrying up and going, get back on the couch. So the more you allow it, the. The more they. They let their guard down and they're not as worried about it. And even the parent, I think when the reimburse allows it, I think they're probably, like, keeping a good eye, like, making sure. But as. As it continues to happen, I think they're even not paying as much attention.
Kate
No, I agree. Yeah. Because if they're not busting you doing specific things or they think you're following the rules, then of course the parent is like, oh, well, they're listening, and they're not, you know, doing anything they're not supposed to.
Elle
But the difference, too, with, like, my family. Your family is our parents. They didn't want us, and they didn't encourage us to have sex. You know what I'm saying?
Kate
Right, right. Absolutely. I would never. Please don't ever have sex. Right.
Elle
So while we were like, allow. Our parents, like, had it in their mind, like, oh, hopefully that, you know, hopefully that's not happening. They better not be doing that here. While Bella's mom is like, here's the condoms. Don't be loud. I don't want to hear it. You know what I'm saying? But they knew that it was happening. Oh, sure, you can go take a shower. So that's what a lot of people don't understand either is I've seen people. People's come into my lives and they're like, oh, well, they're young and they're dating. Like, of course they're gonna have sex. Fault. Exactly.
Kate
You better be outside on the rocks. You go ahead. You want. You. You go do it in a field or something or wherever you want to try to do it and be uncomfortable. Yeah. But not. Not under, you know, not under my roof.
Elle
That's the difference is, yes, they're young, and we were all young once when we had our boyfriends that we were, like, obsessed with that. That, yeah, we would sneak behind our parents back and we would have, you know, have sex with them. But they're not having to sneak around.
Kate
Right. That's what's crazy.
Elle
Parents are allowing it. That's the difference. They don't have to sneak around. If kids at. At that age, 13, 14, 15, if they are having sex, it's. It should not. Parents should not be like, okay, here's the condoms. Just like, what it should be like, please don't do it.
Kate
No. Right.
Elle
And why you don't do it.
Kate
And so, like, my opinion and the way that me and Ty said we're gonna go about things, like, I want my daughters to be protected. Like, I do believe there should be open communication as far as. You know what I mean? Like, as far as birth control, condoms, things of that nature. Like, I want you to be protected. So I can understand, like, if you needed condoms or whatever, I can understand that. The. But the other thing, too, is, like, how you said, like, oh, don't be too loud or whatever. Like, it will not happen. I want you to be protected, but it will not happen under my roof whatsoever. And if it does, somebody is going to be in the back field with mom because it's not happening at all.
Elle
Right.
Kate
Like. Like, you better. You're gonna have to sneak around so much. And like I said, you're gonna have to be uncomfortable in a field somewhere or somewhere different. But not under. Not. No.
Elle
Right. That's. Yeah, absolutely.
Kate
Like, because there. It's just different. That family is. It's different. Like, I like even the clips when they're taught, they're showing, like, you know, them being open and talking about sex, there'd be a couple of times where I would catch myself and be like, okay, I do agree with being open and having conversations, but this feels a little too much or too weird.
Elle
Yeah, you want your kids to be open with you. You want your. Your. Your son, if he starts having sex at 17, to be able to come to you. Be like, hey, Mom. So just so you know. And then you can educate them.
Kate
Right?
Elle
But then you should tell them, I don't want you to do it. And these are the reasons why there's STDs out there. Like, you know, like, you don't want to go around sleeping with every girlfriend you have. And then there's really Nothing special between you and your spouse when you get married. And so you educate them. When I had my sister, because whenever I started having sex, I told my older sister, and she told. I said, can you tell Mama? I don't want to tell Mama.
Kate
Right?
Elle
She was like, yeah, I'll tell her. So my older sister went to my mom and told her that me and my boyfriend, you know, had been having sex. And my mom took all of us girls at the same time to the health unit to get put on birth control. But then she tried to. She didn't encourage it. She tried to tell us why we shouldn't do it and how it could affect our lives if we got STDs, if we got pregnant at a young age. And I remember at the health unit, they played videos of show, like, showing, like, what pregnancy looked like and was so smart, a woman having a baby. They showed videos of, like, STDs. And for a minute I was scared. I was like, oh, shoot, okay. It scared me for a minute, you know? Right. But if my mama would have been like, if my. If my sister would have went to my mom and told her, and my mom would have turned around and came to me, want to be like, okay, well, here's birth control. Here's some cons for him. Y' all, just don't be too loud. I would have been like, oh, shoot.
Kate
She.
Elle
If she wouldn't have educated me on, like, STDs and pregnancy and. And had. And this is what you should do. Have discussions on how getting pregnant at a young age can affect you. Well, you know, you can't do cheer. And. And, you know, the friends that you have now, they may not say your friends. And it's hard to go to school, and you're just starting life off at a disadvantage if you are 18. Parent. It's so parents should have told her that rather than being like, oh, okay, whatever. If you get pregnant, I'll stay at home and I'll keep your baby. They shouldn't. In my opinion, the mom should make her put the baby in daycare that way.
Kate
No, I agree. And make her work after school to pay for that daycare. I agree. Right? I totally agree.
Elle
Too easy. They're making it too easy. Like, they don't. She even said, like, oh, you know, like, when she was going to do cheer, that I don't remember exactly what else she said, but I was like, they're making this so easy for her. She has. She can come home and be a mom when she wants to. There's nothing if she wants to come home and she's tired, like, oh, mom, gonna go take a nap. Okay, sure, go take a nap. Like, I got a baby. Whatever. They're making this so easy to where they do not face the consequences of having this baby so young. So what's going to stop them from having baby number two, right?
Kate
Or three or four? Well, however many. No, because Tyler, he has said the same things to me. He's like, if he's like, you know, God forbid that were to ever happen to one of our daughters or, you know, whatever, because life is life and what, you know, you can try the best, but sometimes things still happen. He even said he's like, I don't know if I would be okay with them living here and staying here. He goes, I think there's a part of me that would be telling them, well, now you need to go out into the real world. You think, you know, you're having babies now it's time to get a job. It's time to pay for rent, it's, you know, time to pay for daycare and do, you know, do all the things and figure it out. And of course, part of me as a mom, I look at him and I'm like, well, there's going to be some things I will help with. But yes, you know, you definitely, you know what I mean? Like, I'm not gonna let you be homeless with your baby or whatever, but if you're living under my roof, you right, you have to be going to school or you have to be working a job and definitely getting the care that is necessary for the child. I'm not going to quit my job and stay home and not make my income and things like that. This episode of Kate and Ty Break it down is brought to you by Progressive Insurance. I relate to it. I'm like, it's all weird. But Hunter's mom is just his fault here. He was also letting her spend the night over. He was letting her come over there. Hunter spend the night over there. The way they played it on the show, as if Hunter's dad was just non existent and wanting nothing to do with him. I'm, you know, and it makes me think like, did TLC really think that that was the truth? Did nobody from TLC talk to his, his dad? You know, because I know a lot of people are mad at tlc, but at the end of the day, they are going to, they're gonna get whatever dirt they can or drama they can and they're gonna blast it everywhere for views. That's all TV world cares about.
Elle
Right?
Kate
But I'm like, the way that they played Hunter's dad, I'm like, is that just all they knew? Because I guess what, behind the scenes, he was very involved in Hunter's life, his whole life. And I've heard you talk about that. Like, Hunter's dad would even let the mom come stay with them if they didn't have a place to go and stuff. Right? Yeah.
Elle
So yeah. The show portrayed Hunter's dad as a deadbeat piece of crap that Hunter desperately wanted his dad to be in his life. Hunter desperately wanted his dad to see Wesley, but his dad just would not come to visits. And when not that made me feel
Kate
bad as a viewer not knowing the backstory. I felt horrible.
Elle
I remember the clip where they were like going to the visit at the batting cages and he called his dad and was like, hey, we're like 30 minutes down. The dad's like, I can't come. Like, we're cooking. You know, And I was like, what a piece of crap. You know, you have this visit set up, and then when they're on their way, you. You say you're not coming. Now, this is based off what I've. I've heard and I've been told is that the dad never wanted Hunter on the show. He did not sign for. For it, from my understanding. And when he found out they were doing it, he made it clear, I will not be on the show. So when he found out they were filming and Colin and trying to get visits, he was like, no, I'm not having. And that particular day was Hunter's little sister's birthday party or something. And he had already told them like, hey. And I heard he invited them. Oh, that he invited them. And he was like, hey, come, we're cooking out. Y' all can come. And instead they were like, no. And they did this whole, you know, let's knee to the batting cages. And he. When he found out, cameras. So then he's like, no.
Kate
So then TLC in the production must have had to known that because if the data is saying specifically, I've told you, I'm not filming, I'm not comfortable with doing this show and all the things.
Elle
So I think they probably had to know. I mean.
Kate
Yeah, so that makes me wonder of that just from being in the TV world for so long. I'm like, okay, so you just needed to explain for the viewers why the dad was nowhere to be found. So we just like, run with this weird story. I don't know. It's all straight, it's all strange.
Elle
So they used to all get along really well. And from my understanding. Okay, so when they split up, Hunter's mom and dad, when they split up, they co parented. Fine. Like, he got Hunter, she got Hunter, whatever. And then she struggled, allegedly, she struggled with addiction and she went into rehab. And so Hunter moved in with dad and lived with that. Then when she got out of rehab, from my understanding, she moved in with that as well. So Hunter's mom, Hunter and Hunter's little brother lived with Hunter's dad, stepmom, and little sister. And they lived there for a while. So much so that Hunter stepmom and Hunter's mom become really good friends. Like, I've seen pictures of the mom and stepmom together like cheese, you know.
Kate
Right. Like, just hanging out. Yeah.
Elle
They went on vacations together. Like, the dad literally took care of Hunter, Hunter's mom, and Hunter's little brother for a while. I can't remember exactly how long? But I want to say I heard like two years maybe, and that could be off. But they lived there, they went on vacations, they all got along great. Well, then when Stacy, like got back up on her feet and got her house, they just resumed back, you know, like the visitation, like.
Kate
Right.
Elle
Hunter's dad never thought he needed to get any sort of custody through the courts because they always got along. And anytime he wanted Hunter, he could get. He could get him. And it was.
Kate
A lot of people do that. If that's not like a fight and you guys are, you know, working together. A lot of people do that. Yeah.
Elle
Right. So that's what he did. So Stacy, she, you know, is living over there across from Bella. Everything is fine. Hunter's going to see his dad. Hunter starts dating Bella. The dad is aware that Hunter's dating Bella, but he has no idea what's happening behind the scenes that he's allowed to stay the night with Bella and that he's having sex with Bella. Like, he doesn't know what Stacy's allowing when she has Hunter on her time until Bella comes up pregnant. And then that's when he's like, wait, what the heck? Like, how did this happen? And then he starts finding stuff out. So he files for full custody from understanding he offered full custody before the show. I know it's before it aired. Okay, but I don't think it was before. I think it was right after they started filming maybe that he filed for full custody, which would make sense because
Kate
that's what, you know, so that takes. I said then that would make sense because all those court stuff takes a minute anyways.
Elle
It does, yeah. He filed sometime in like early 2025, I want to say. But then when the show. So he obviously finds out, oh, wow, my 12 year old son is having sex with his, you know, 14 year old girlfriend and now here she is pregnant. Mom clearly ain't doing her job and
Kate
you know, like, right.
Elle
So he files for full custody and then the show comes out and he is finding out. Like we're finding out, you know, like, like exactly what's happening. I would be livid if I had to find out on a TV show that when my child is with their other parent, they're allowed to live with their girlfriend and they all sit around talking about sex, talking about them having sex and laughing about it. Like, it's just so funny that our kids are, you know, going through this many condoms, blah, blah, blah, blah, like, oh, my God, yeah.
Kate
Using four at a time and talking about Butt sex.
Elle
I would be so mad. But that's when he found out. He like, that was the relationship, you know. So when. But when Bella came up pregnant, he was like, what the heck? So he like confronted Stacy. They had like a little bit of a back and forth. Then at one point when Hunter was at his house, he saw some pictures of Bella on Hunter's phone that were inappropriate. And he confronted Hunter and was like, you guys are too young for this. This is not okay. And he confronted Stacy. I know. He confronted Bella. He confronted Bella about it, about how they were too young to do that. She did not need to be doing that. And from my understanding, what I was told or what I heard, Bella was like, what are you talking about? What pictures did. She gaslit him and acted like she didn't know what he was talking about to the dad.
Kate
Right. Because the dad is probably like, quit sending nudes to my son.
Elle
Right? You guys are too young to this do for this. Do not be sending these type of pictures to my son. And she was like, what pictures? I don't know what you're talking about. And he's like, well, I've seen them. Like, what are you. You know what I'm saying? So when he could, then he talked to Stacy about it. And that's when Ham and Stacy really started butting heads. When he confronted her, when he had the discussion with her about Bella and the pictures and then the pregnancy. And I don't know for sure if he said, oh, Hunter ruined his life. But my thing is, like, I could see myself saying that as a parent, if my 12 year old child got pregnant, I could absolutely see me in anger and emotional, be like, oh my God, what are you doing? You ruined your life. Like, what?
Kate
Oh, same, same. Because you know, nova is literally 11.
Elle
Yeah.
Kate
That would be her getting pregnant next year. Absolutely. No, I would be like, yes, you're. This is going to ruin your life. Of course, like you said, out of the stress and everything like that. Like, are you kidding me? I don't blame his dad for being like, what the is going on?
Elle
Right. But apparently at that point when the dad started figuring it all out, like confronting everybody, that's when the issue started. That's when makes sense. Yeah. Stacy started talking about how bad of a parent he was. And then cameras came and he didn't want to film at all. So he would, anytime they reached out to him and he knew cameras were going to be there, he was like, I'm not coming. I'm not going to be there. I'M not going to be filmed. So, you know, they just. My thing, though, you know, Hunter, now, he made a video not too, too long ago saying, you know, I don't want to live with my dad every time. Yeah, you saw it.
Kate
Yeah, but go ahead.
Elle
Everybody thinks this is Bella's family, you know, making me say this. It's not. I am scared of my dad. He got physical with me, whatever. My little sister, like, filmed me in the shower. But my thing is. Okay, he says that, but why all season were you talking about how much you wanted your daddy in life? All season, you're talking about how much you want your dad in your life and how you want your dad to. To meet your son and all these things. Well, if that was true, then in my opinion, what I think is true is he wanted his dad to be a part of the show. Every time his dad declined, it did hurt his feelings. He wanted his dad to be there and be a part of this. And so that's why we hear him in the show saying, I want to see my dad. I do think his dad pulled away a little bit during, you know, the initial file for custody and everything coming out and then filming. He probably wasn't seeing him as much as they had been at some point. And obviously Hunter recognized that, and, you know, it hurt his feelings or whatever, but I don't think his dad was, like, shutting him out to be like, oh, I'm done with you. You know what I'm saying?
Kate
Right. I think his dad just was, like you said, probably seeing everything as we were seeing it. Finding out all this information about this, like, double life almost, that your son is living when he's at his mom's house. Right. Which has got to be shocking. And then he's probably figuring out what he needs to do. What are his next steps to try to, like, protect his son. I mean, geez, yeah, he filed for custody.
Elle
I mean, which I'm.
Kate
Because. Because it just comes out. Like, I remember being a young kid, and my mom and my dad were going to court for full custody of me. And, you know, as an adult, I can look back now, and I. And I know whenever I would be at, like, my dad's house, I would try to, like, pacify my dad and be. And say, no, I want to live with you. And, you know, I want. You know, I want to be with you. And then I would go to my mom's house, and I would say, no, Mom, I don't want to live with Dad. I want to live with you. Because as a young kid too, you don't want to hurt their feelings. Even though in my heart I did always want to be with my mom, I did, because, I mean, what child doesn't, I feel like. But I would always find myself feeling like I couldn't be truthful with what my true wants and wishes were because I was too afraid of hurting their feelings. But the whole situation with this family, it just comes off very much as, in my opinion, it almost looks like a form of brainwashing or some sort of manipulation to make them think that all of this is okay and that the whole fame thing again gets me. Okay, you guys, summer is about here, and that means all the fun in the sun, swimming, playing outside. But also that means the kids are home from school and we want fun things to do with them. And that's where Kiwico comes into play. So we got a summer adventure series package from Kiwico and it was the archery set. And honestly, all three of my kids love this and Nova loved building it. You get to build your own ball launching bow and you actually get to shoot it and everything at a legit real target. And with Nova being 11, she had no problem putting it all together. And if she did run into an issue, she didn't get frustrated. The directions were super simple to follow and she was super proud of herself when she got finished building it and being able to shoot it, that was one of the best parts. Sometimes it's hard to keep children off screens, but Kiwico does that. They get super interested and they're excited to build and try new things. And also the fun part is they get to play with it after they build it. Projects from the Summer adventure series help to turn the outdoors into a playground of learning and joy. Kiwico crates offer a range of topics for every single age, with some adventure kits featuring playing with bubbles and even exploring the stars. As a parent, it can be hard to find ways to keep your kids busy and challenged during the summer break, but Kiwico does the leg work for you, so that way your kids can spend quality time tackling projects while they're learning. Elle
I've heard some people, you know, say that they feel like Hunter's being groomed.
Kate
It comes off like that too. Yes.
Elle
Which is a word that I don't take lightly because you don't want to end up, you know, you know, getting sued or anything. But I really do feel like 100%. I feel like the one. The main reason Hunter wants to remain living with his mom is because he has so much access to Bella and to his child.
Kate
No rules. Who wouldn't, what teenage, what teenager wouldn't want to do that?
Elle
That's the thing is like as a child that has parents, that's, that's divorced, you do sometimes, you know, play the parent. Like, oh, like you, like, like you said earlier, you'll go to your mom, say, I want to live with you. Go with your dad so you want to live with you. Them. But essentially in Hunter's case, because he can live like a full grown adult, make his decisions. And two, I feel like Stacy and Bella's mom, they act like Hunter is like this like celebrity, almost like he's like, oh, Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, Hunter over there. So he's like so praised and so loved and just like such a big shot over there on that side. But his dad treats him like a kid. His dad treats him like now, I
Kate
guess he's was still a kid. Yeah.
Elle
And he probably don't like that. He probably don't like. Well, when I go to dad's house, I have rules, right. You know, they've taken my phone before. I don't like that he, he gets to decide. When I see Bella and Wes, I don't like that. Versus when I'm over here, everybody over there loves me and I just get to do whatever I want over there. And I can sleep with my girlfriend and have sex with my girlfriend and be there with my child all the time. And everybody treats me like I'm just A superstar over there, and they just love me so much person. My dad's house is different. And the thing is, is that may be what Hunter sees now, but that is not what's in the best interest of Hunter German living a place where he can continue having sex with his girlfriend, where God knows how many kids they'll have by the time they graduate
Kate
high school, not have any rules. Structure.
Elle
No structure. He needs to be in a home where there is structure, where someone's going to hold him accountable, where someone's treating him like a child, trying to raise him like a child, and looking out for what's in his best interest.
Kate
Mm. I totally agree. Because it wasn't until I got older where I remember I looked at my mom one time and I said, you know, I wish now that I look back, like, I wish you would have had more rules. I wish you would have been more strict on things because you don't realize when you're a teenager. When you're a teenager, absolutely. You're like, oh, I ain't got no rules. I don't got to be home. I can go wherever I want. I could do what I want. Of course you're going to want to stay there, right?
Elle
Yeah.
Kate
But, yes, when I got older, I. I remember telling her, I was like, I wish you were more strict. I wish you would have had more rules.
Elle
My husband said something one time. He said, kids actually love rules, but they don't realize it until they're older.
Kate
It's.
Elle
So that's when they'll realize it. Because socially, to me, when you become an adult and especially when you have children, parents guiding you and giving you stability and rules is that's. It's love. Like, to me, it is. I'm like, that's how I do this. Because I love my children. I give them rules because I love them. And when you look back, if you have a parent that didn't give you rules, you. You question it. You're like, why did they let me do that? Were they not thinking about what was best for me? Were they just like, whatever. Do whatever you want, because I don't have time to deal with you, you know, so just go do whatever you want. I can never. Like, like, me and my husband, we have talked to our older kids about the importance of not just, you know, having sex with anybody, about going to school, trying to work on, you know, getting ahead in life. Like, if you get pregnant at a young age, how hard that's going to be and how much it could affect you. And My husband even talks to them about, like, certain types of jobs. Like, he's like, you don't want to work in certain industries where you break your back and by the time you're 45 years old, you can barely get around and the company lays you off. So, like, be smart, even in the business field that you go in.
Kate
Yeah. And everything. That's how parents should be, though. We should be explaining all of those things to them. And you're right, it wasn't. It didn't hit me either until I was grown and had my own children and processed a lot of the crap I went through as a kid, which Hunter and Bella are going to both severely need it. Just from what I've witnessed, and I know that a lot of people have been watching this custody case very closely and have been reporting on it, but I do know you said just a couple days ago, I think you and Ray were on Alive where now it is sealed, though, right? So, like, the public can't find out any more information unless somebody reaches out to one of you guys or something. Right.
Elle
Somebody leaked something somehow.
Kate
And yeah, I don't. I don't think it's a bad thing just because there is minors involved. And I. Like you said earlier, the truth always comes to light in certain. You know, people are going to find out certain things. I. Maybe they didn't think it was going to blow up this much, and maybe it's Hunter's dad saying, like, maybe it needs to be sealed. But as far as before it was sealed, what was the latest kind of things we were finding out?
Elle
Okay, so right before it got sealed, Hunter's dad did get. Did get full custody.
Kate
So granted. So he can make the decisions whether he goes to his mom's house and everything, right?
Elle
Yep. Yep. Okay, so. And in the court documents, it says Hunter is not to see Bella or Bella's family unless it's at Casey's discretion. So he can. But it is at Casey's discretion. And Casey had asked the courts, he asked them to not allow Hunter to be around them unless he is a supervisor. So he's like, he can be. I'm asking the judge, I'm asking you to not allow Hunter or them access to Hunter without my supervision. And the judge basically said, sure. Like, Hunter can't be around them. It's up to your discretion for 100 to be around them. So from my understanding, the. And this is my understanding, the dad is not trying to keep Hunter from Bella. He knows that Hunter loves Bella. He knows they have a child Together. He's not trying to keep Hunter. Hunter from the child. He is just wanting it to be like a normal situation where Hunter goes and sees his girlfriend and, you know, they go to the movies, hang out, they're not staying the night. It's not a sex thing. It's right. Act like a 14 year old who's got a girlfriend.
Kate
Like we say in my household, you ain't playing house just because you had a baby. You ain't playing house.
Elle
Exactly. That's what my mama and my granny always said. Like, you ain't playing my house in my house. No, you ain't. So that's basically what he's doing. He. He's just trying to give Hunter some stability and treat him like a child. He's not. He's not gonna take Hunter away from Bella. He's not gonna not allow. Somebody said. So I guess Wes isn't gonna see his dad until, like, hunter turns 18. No. Hunter just proposed to Bella, you know, because Casey allowed them to see each other. So it's not like he's trying to keep him away from his kid or his girlfriend. And also, you know, the dad filed for custody of Wes and he did.
Kate
How the heck would that work?
Elle
So the reason why, though, is because Hunter is a minor. His dad is filing on his behalf because Hunter cannot hire an attorney at his age and be like, oh, let me file for, you know, custody of my son. So his dad is doing it on his behalf, which I guess Hunter don't understand this. Hunter looks at it as like, oh, you're just trying to, like, cause problems. Right?
Kate
Or take my kid from.
Elle
Yeah, his dad is trying to get him so he can be raised like a child with rules and regulations and stability to help him in his life moving forward. And he's trying to get. He filed for full custody of Wes because most of the time, most from what. What we were talking about, like, most lawyers will tell you file for full custody. That way, at minimum, you'll probably get, like, joined. Point. I don't think his dad wants Hunter to have full custody. I think he just filed for full because his lawyer probably said, this is what we'll file for and at minimum, we'll get this. But what he's doing is he's falling on behalf of Hunter because he now has full custody of Hunter and Bella has the baby. So Bella could be like, no.
Kate
Right?
Elle
Yeah. The only time Hunter can see Wes is when you let Hunter come see me. So the data spy. And that way Hunter could maybe get 50. 50 and the baby can spend a week at, you know, right. Casey's house with Hunter or spend the weekend there and Bella has no say so over it. It's a judge has ordered. Okay, he has 50. 50. He's gonna week on, week off. So Bella can't control Wes and hang
Kate
with or her parents try to control it.
Elle
Right. So essentially what had to happen is Casey Johnson, Hunter's dad, had to sue Fallon Vaughn, Bella's mom, because he couldn't sue Bella for the custody of west despite Bella being the mom. Because Bella is not an adult and you can't. So it had to be the parents between the family.
Kate
Isn't that crazy? Like you can have a baby at 12, 13 years old, but if I'm 13 and my baby daddy is 12, I can't take him to court. What about even for child support and stuff, would the dad be stuck having to pay child support?
Elle
Well, the day I wonder how the
Kate
heck that would work.
Elle
The dad from understanding the dad did say like once paternity is established because they also. The dad requested a paternity test. The judge ordered it.
Kate
Okay.
Elle
In the order, the judge said they have seven days to do this DNA test. Yes. I saw several people saying it takes like two weeks for it to come back.
Kate
They could probably expedite it too. It's the court. If they wanted to the courts.
Elle
Yeah, they. I'm sure they could. So once the DNA test comes back
Kate
and do you know why they wanted a DNA test do what do you. Do we know why that. Why did they want the DNA test? Do we know?
Elle
Well, well, yeah, the reason they wanted the DNA test is because he wants Hunter on the birth certificate and to
Kate
have rights because is he not on the birth certificate?
Elle
As of now, he's not on the birth certificate.
Kate
So he was there when he was born and everything.
Elle
He was. But in Arkansas you can't sign a birth certificate or an acknowledgment of paternity at 13 years old because you are a baby.
Kate
A baby. Yeah. Okay.
Elle
They're not married. He was 13 years old, so he couldn't sign it. So he's not on it.
Kate
Wow.
Elle
So in order for Hun Hunter to get any type of custody, like he has to be acknowledged as a, as the father. Anyways, so they went ahead and they requested that the judge order it because it was going to have to happen, but an establishment of paternity was going to have to happen. Now once it comes back that Hunter is the dad, you know, let's hope that. Yeah. God, I couldn't even imagine. If it comes back that he's not. But once that comes back that Hunter's the dad, then they can file for, like, an amended birth certificate. Oh, Hunter.
Kate
Even with them still being a minor.
Elle
Well, his dad could file on his behalf.
Kate
Oh, okay.
Elle
With the proof that he. Because then they'll have the DNA test. It'll be acknowledged by the court. Yeah. They can file to add Hunter to the birth certificate. So they send that into Vital Records. It does have to go through, like, an attorney. An attorney has to do it on your behalf, I do believe. But then they'll get a new birth certificate that lists, you know, Bella as a mom and Hunter as the dad. And then Hunter, I'm sure he's going to get some sort of custody of the baby.
Kate
Oh, he has to. Yeah. How could you? How could he not? Right.
Elle
Yeah. So then. And to get custody of the child, like, that could not happen without proof of paternity.
Kate
True.
Elle
Had to prove it. They had to prove that. So that's all the dad wants. All the dad wants is for a Hunter to have some sort of legal rights to his child. That way, if Bella and Hunter were to break up in the future, he has protected. Yeah, he's protected. And I wish Hunter would see that, because right now, Hunter's thinking, oh, my God, now you're just, like, you're messing everything up. You're just causing issues.
Kate
But really, he's probably right now hating it. Yeah. And really, the dad is really just trying to do what's best for his son. And I'm so. I'm so glad that they did that. The courts did give him the full custody, because for anybody that has watched this season of unexpected, like, you can just tell, it's all weird. It all feels off. As it. The show progressed, it just kept feeling more off and more weird and just didn't make any sense. So I'm so. I'm really glad that he ended up getting the. The full custody. And I don't mean. I don't feel. I don't feel like Hunter should be kept from his mom, but I do think that his dad should have, like, regulations in place. Like, if you want to come see him, you can come here. We can come to your house. Because, you know, obviously his dad now. Now knows if I drop him off at your house, he's gonna be running across the street of Bella's and living there for a week.
Elle
You know, that's the thing, Kate. When he filed for custody, he filed for custody. And Then the show comes on and he starts finding things out. So he filed an emergency ex parte, or temporary custody until they figured everything out. So the judge gave him 50. 50, so Hunter would have a week with his dad, a week with his mom. And the dad asked for certain rules and regulations to be put in place that Hunter must go to school, that Hunter cannot spend the night at Bella's house. That.
Kate
Oh, yeah, because that. That. That catch up episode, episode 12, unexpected. They show that about how Hunter had to leave, like, oh, we know. Sorry. West will see your dad in, like, a week. And they kind of talked about that. Yeah.
Elle
Yep.
Kate
Okay.
Elle
Yep. So his dad, once things started coming on the show and he saw, like, how serious this was, he filed for emergency temporary custody. Custody. And the judge gave me what's good for him. Exactly. Hey, guys.
Kate
So I'm sure that a lot of you that are listening have kids yourselves or maybe even some grandkids. And as we all know, there are so many changes that kids go through as they grow up. Making their own opinions, finding their voices, and, you know, wanting to do all the things all by themselves all of the time. Well, getting dressed is one of those daily moments. And that's why at the Belterra house, we are loving Magnetic Me. Magnetic Me uses magnetic closures instead of buttons or zippers. So it's really awesome for independent dressing. Raya can really do it all by herself. And she gets so happy that she can do the little magnet snaps all by herself. Because, again, it's not normal snaps, it's magnets. And you can just see the confidence booming with her. Plus, also, it's the cutest print. She has the Disney Princess pajama print, and right now, princesses for her are all the rage. So these were absolutely perfect for her. Not only are all the clothes super cute, but the fabric is so soft and gentle. Trust me, once you try Magnetic Me, you'll never want to go back to buttons or zippers. Right now, new customers can get 15% off their first order@migrantme.com. don't wait. Get 15% off@migrantme.com when you manage procurement for multiple facilities, every order matters.

But when it's for a hospital system, they matter even more. Grainger gets it and knows there's no
Kate
time for managing multiple suppliers and no
Elle
room for shipping delays. That's why Grainger offers millions of products in fast, dependable delivery, so you can keep your facility stocked, safe, and running smoothly.
Kate
Call 1-800-GRAINGER, click grainger.com or just stop
Elle
by Grainger for the ones who get it done. But what happened after that is Stacy was not following the rules that the judge put in place. Hunter still was missing school. He was still staying the night at Bella's, despite the judge saying, okay, he's gonna stay a week at his dad's, but when he's with you, he can't stay the night at Bella's house.
Kate
She should have got in trouble for that.
Elle
Well, that's why when he filed for full custody, he noted that when he.
Kate
When he.
Elle
Because then he filed an emergency order for full custody until they can figure it all out. He was like. Despite you telling her to make sure he goes to school, he has missed 30 days. While on his mom's time, his grades have continued to suffer. He's continued to be able to stay the night at his girlfriend's house. So she's not taking the court serious, and she's not listening to the rules and regulations that you set in place. So I need full custody. And he also mentioned Fallon's arrest. He also brought up that whole mess. Yeah. So the judge then was like, okay, then, yeah, he's gonna have full temporary custody until we figure this out.
Kate
Out. And I'm shocked because when you couldn't you hold her in for, like, contempt a quarter. Is that for just not showing up? Like, you literally didn't follow any single rule I gave you. And also, it ain't that hard to get your kids to school every day. Missing 30 days, all the time. Only when he's at. On your time. That's crazy work.
Elle
Yeah. Only. And it was 35. It was like 30. Yeah, I think they said.
Kate
Right. But only on her time, which is. That's crazy.
Elle
Only on her time. And I think it was just since he had filed for the temporary. For temporary custody. When he filed for temporary custody and the judge put those rules. I think it was after that.
Kate
Yeah. Which regardless, it's like, what. Either you get him to school, but you want him to be a dad?
Elle
35 days on one parent's time.
Kate
That's proof right there.
Elle
35 days in general is a lot like where my kids go to school. If you miss 35 days in a school, you're. You're gonna fail.
Kate
Oh, yeah. Or you're in trouble. You're go. You know they're sending officer to your house. Yeah. The truancy officer crap. I think in my state, it's even less than that. It's like 15. And they're like, you're going to be truant. I don't even know. Not, you know, I could be off by a number or two or whatever.
Elle
Ours, once they, they're allowed five. And on the sixth one, no, on the third unexcused absence, you get a letter. And on the sixth one you get sent to truancy.
Kate
Yeah. Because you do they always give you a warning letter first. Yes. You know, and my hopes for this whole situation is, first of all, I want to give tlc. Come on. I mean, you know, I can, I can look at some things and be like, that's wrong. Other things I can understand because you're in the TV world. But I mean, you can do better than this. I mean, MTV had each and every single cast. Me, we had to go through hours. You have to get psych evaluations before you can even be on our shows. I had to like talk to a psychiatrist, answer questions, take tests.
Elle
How did get the green light to be on the show?
Kate
I. I don't even know. But I know it wasn't in the beginning when we, it wasn't like off rip we had to start doing that. But there was a show back in the day where somebody like killed their wife or something and they were still let on a show. And then after he did the show, they found out that he like, he killed, I don't know, it was like his wife or his girlfriend or something. And I don't think it was on. It wasn't on mtv. But after that point in time was when, yeah, like we had to start meeting with a psych doctor before we like signed new contracts and stuff. And we'd have to like go to a hotel conference room and do like a whole psych evaluation and stuff. Like I feel like before you start exploiting people's lives, because sometimes they can be exploiting or you know, giving them fame to, with their kids or whatever it is. Like do some take some steps to really make sure that these people are in it for the right reasons, that none of these children are getting harmed. Because it is a show about children, it's teen parents and then also their children. These people should be protected. I, I think that they could do a little, you know, things differently in, you know, just in my own opinion. And then also I really hope that Hunter's dad, I hope he sounds like a stand up dude and he's taking all the right steps that any normal parent would. So I really hope he gets him into some really good therapy just to process everything. And I think, I think moving forward we will continue to find out more People. People always leak crap. This day and age, you know, too,
Elle
is there's a gag order. It's sealed.
Kate
Right.
Elle
Stacy and Casey's situation is sealed, but the DNA test is through Casey and Fallon's case.
Kate
Oh.
Elle
So we may still be able to see that. That hasn't been sealed yet. Now, it could be. They could seal it coming up. But I'm kind of. And listen, there is a part of me, the mom in me, that's like this. These cases should be sealed because it's involving kids.
Kate
Right.
Elle
There's also the content creator in me, the nosy side of me that I'm like, I want to know. Like, you know, I don't know what's happening. But right now, Stacy and Casey's case is not sealed. And as long as he doesn't get sealed within the next month or two, we may know the. The results of that paternity test.
Kate
You mean fail. Failing. Fallon and Casey's.
Elle
Fallon, yeah. Fallon and. And Casey's case is not sealed. Fallon and Stacy's case is sealed. The DNA order is with Fallon and Casey, so we couldn't. And I want to know. And I'm praying. I know there's, like, chatter like, oh, what if the baby's not his? And I am praying that is not the case, because these are already going through enough. Yeah. I could not imagine if that kid come back, not. Not his.
Kate
It would devastate him. Of course it would. How wouldn't it? You know, and to the thing.
Elle
The thing that makes it weird, though, is Fallon has tried to. Fallon has. On one of the DNA tests, and she, like, refused the DNA test. Like, in the hospital.
Kate
Why?
Elle
Yeah, like at the hospital, some talks about a DNA test. And she was like, no, no, no, no. In the court filing, she was like, no, no DNA test. So I was like, I think it's not. And maybe it could be that there's a chance that the base. Not his. But I think it's more about control for Fallon. I think Fallon, as an adult knows if we do a DNA test, then he could get on his birth certificate and then he could have legal rights to have.
Kate
Right. Because she's the adult. So of course she would know that. Yeah.
Elle
Yeah. So I think it's more about control. I could be wrong, but it would.
Kate
I could see that. Yeah, I could see that. Because like you said, I hope. Yeah, hope. And hopefully the judge agrees to some sort of, like, custody thing for Hunter's dad and the baby, too, because like you said, with him being a minor, being A literal baby. In my eyes, he still does deserve to have some sort of rights to his own son, whether that's through his dad getting him or himself. Like, it's sad. The whole situation is sad. And also, I mean, I'm not one to say, or. I don't ever say it lately about, you know, parents being investigated or looked at or whatever, because it can be harmful. But I really do hope somebody is at least looking into Bella's family, because if you've watched it and you've seen everything that's happened online and with just all of it, it's just weird. Something is weird.
Elle
And I was looking up what they could potentially be charged with. Just out of curiosity.
Kate
Yeah.
Elle
Based up what we see on the show and, like, according to Chat GPT and what they found in Arkansas laws, her parents could be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, not in regards to alcohol, but in regards to sex. Like.
Kate
Yeah. Because they're not even at the age of consent.
Elle
Right. Absolutely right. And they could also be charged with, like, neglect. There was a couple of things. So I'm like, honestly, if the D. A over there wanted to. If they wanted to, they could find something. Which they've, you know, found's already been arrested, but they could find something. Just in this regard of how she has gone about treating Hunter and Bella, they could really charge her with if they wanted to. I think Bella and Hunter, specifically Hunter, when he gets older, 25, 30, whatever, I think he's going to look back on this with Bella or not with Bella, and he's going to see like, holy crap.
Kate
I hope so. And I think. And I think that comes from his dad giving him the stability and all the things that he needs as a child. And. And the therapy, like, he's gonna. He needs therapy for sure. And the reason why I say that I hope somebody's looking at Bella's family and just asking questions or investigating, because there was one more thing I wanted to bring up, just the fact of. There was one scene where it started even getting more weird for me when Bella's, like, really pregnant and they're in the parking lot and she starts crying and she's telling her mom, and she's like, you know, you always tell him that I am not allowed to break up with him and I have to be nice to him. And I like almost that her mom even controlled their relationship to a point where Bella, you could tell she felt like, I'm not allowed to break up with him. I can never say that he does anything wrong. Because my mom always says he's just immature and he needs time to grow. And a part of me felt like, does she really not want to be with him? Because. And she just feels like she has to because it's just. Because it does. It comes off as grooming. Again, not only grooming Hunter, but I feel like grooming Bella too. As in, like, you have to be with him. He's just immature. He'll grow up. But she was like, really upset.
Elle
She told Bella, she said something along the lines, if it. You break up with him, like you're breaking up two families because he's a part of our family. So you're breaking up, like us and him. And then you guys like.
Kate
And I'm sorry, I will.
Elle
Hello.
Kate
Who says that in my mom?
Elle
I have my babies back. I'm have my.
Kate
Right. I'm like, screw the dad. Yeah, right. Mama got your back and we'll figure it out. He making you cry like this? And he doesn't want to show up to a frickin ultrasound appointment because it wasn't that what it was about? You didn't show up? Yeah. Like, no, absolutely not. I'd be like, yeah, you probably should break up with him. Yeah. And because I'm gonna show my girls that you don't deal with none of that. Whether they're. I don't know.
Elle
I think I wanted to go. Like, what's so wild is in this scene, he had his mom call Bella. Bella just so happened to be filming her. Sit down.
Kate
Yes.
Elle
One on one. And her sister was there. And so Bella answers, and it's Stacy, Hunter's mom. And she's like. So Hunter wanted me to let you know that he don't want to go to the ultrasound, like I think she said.
Kate
Because he wanted to sleep, didn't he?
Elle
I thought. I thought she said, go hang out with his friends. But maybe. Maybe she says sleep. But I feel like she did say he wanted to do something different. And Hunter's like, no, no, that's not it. She's like, well, he wanted me to tell you he's not gonna go. And she's like, he better be there. Bella gets mad, walks offset. Well, Emmy then picks up either her father, Bella's phone, I don't know. But she's like, well, I guess he's coming. He just left the house because they were. They track him. They tracked this.
Kate
Right? Right. So the whole family does say that's weird.
Elle
Right.
Kate
So they can understand Bella having it. But yeah, other than that one and Emmy and no, give me.
Elle
Just pick up all the. Oh, I guess he left. There was also a scene, too, where they were all on the couch, and it was Fallon, Bella, and Hunter. And Hunter said something to Fallon. He said, you wouldn't let me move out even if I wanted to. So I'm like, okay. She's then told Hunter, you can't move out even if you want to. She's in. Told Bella, you can't break up with him.
Kate
Right.
Elle
He's part of the family.
Kate
He's just immature. He'll grow up.
Elle
Yeah. And seeing Bella cry and saying that, like, I won't let me break up with him, like, she always. She said, you always take his side.
Kate
Right. Right.
Elle
Well, you. You helped that happen.
Kate
Yes, you did. And guess what? Your daughter's young, too. And honestly, some of the things she was saying is like, I don't. I don't blame her. If you're. You're not even willing to show up to an ultrasound appointment. Like, hell I. Any mom, let alone a teen mom. When you're even wilder, then, like, you're gonna be mad about it, and it's not okay. Like, what? Yes. It's all weird. I'll. I hope. I mean, definitely, if people are interested in this, I want them to definitely give you a follow and just keep track of it because it's interesting. I hope that we can find out more. I hope that. I hope that Hunter is okay. I hope all. I hope all the kids involved, you know, are gonna be okay because it's just Bella's story.
Elle
I kind of feel bad for the other cast members because they all had good stories, too. And I feel like Hunter and Bella's story really took away from everybody else's because we were also focused on how horrible.
Kate
Yeah. Because it was crazy. Yeah.
Elle
Yeah. I. I feel bad for even the other cast members that had to share a season with Bella and Hunter because they didn't really get, like, the recognition and the attention that I feel like they should have gotten. Some of them are really like Mia Amaya. Like, they were all.
Kate
They were all. It was a really good season, I thought.
Elle
Right.
Kate
I think. I think Bella and Hunter straight was just more of, like, a mind mess. Like, it was like, you're watching this being, like, your jaws on the floor. Like, what?
Elle
Yeah, I felt uncomfortable at times. I'm like, I can't believe. I can't even believe TLC's asking these questions and, like, putting it on air, because we're literally Talking to a 13 and a 15 year old about anal and about you, like. Oh, like what? Like, I'm. Like, I feel. I feel like I'm doing something wrong about watching her talk about it.
Kate
Oh, I know. It was great. It's crazy. Oh, I feel like. Well, I feel like we're gonna keep finding out more even though it's sealed. Hopefully we find out the paternity and I do, I agree with you. I really do hope that Wes is on jurs, because that would just be sad. And we've. I. I hear kids downstairs, so we might have to. I might have to go. But make sure you guys go give Ella follow. She always does the tick tock lives. YouTube lives. Where else is that? You're pretty much just on tick tock and YouTube, right?
Elle
Yeah, that's where I go live on tick tock. YouTube. Also on Facebook. I post on Facebook, I post on Instagram, but I don't go live on Instagram. But yeah, I'm pretty much everywhere. But I am mainly on YouTube and tick tock.
Kate
Okay. Yeah, her lives are fun. I like, I always, I'm always, always end up in them most of the time.
Elle
I love when you and Tyler come there. I really wanted to watch unexpected with you guys, but Ray was like, I think they watched the show together and I was like, well, that makes sense. But I was like, yeah, we do love their input.
Kate
No, but you know, they're obviously coming out with a new season because they're casting again, so that's a good idea because I do. I enjoy watching it. I do enjoy watching it.
Elle
I would love to have you in town and watch.
Kate
We would love to do it. We totally. Yes, because I love it too. I like it. It's a good show also, I hope you have a great Mother's Day tomorrow.
Elle
Thank you. You too. Happy early Mother's Day. And I hope you have a great one even though Tyler's not there. It's all right.
Kate
I'm sure we'll do something. Yeah, we'll do. So I'll do something with the kiddos and yeah, Happy Mother's Day to everybody that's listening because this will be after Mother's Day. But, Elle, thank you for taking time out of your day to hop on here with me. I feel like it's. I like talking to you about this stuff too, because you guys do all the digging. That always helps us out. And we'll be talking to you guys next week.

Hosts: Catelynn Baltierra ("Kate"), Guest: Elle Bee
In this episode, Catelynn (without Tyler, who is at a family memorial) welcomes back Elle Bee, social media commentator and frequent live streamer, to discuss the latest season of TLC’s Unexpected, with a deep dive into the controversial Bella and Hunter storyline. They explore behind-the-scenes revelations about the families, parental responsibilities, custody battles, and how reality TV intersects with real-life consequences for the teenagers involved.
This episode offers an unflinching, sometimes emotional, and often critical look at how Unexpected blurs the line between reality and entertainment, especially when it comes to real children on reality TV. The hosts demand better safeguards for minors, responsible parenting, and hope for a positive, supportive future for the show's most vulnerable stars. The candid interplay between lived experience (via Kate) and social/online commentary (Elle) makes for a compelling ride through the reality TV rabbit hole.
