Good morning. Change Church to the Global campus, please. While you remain standing, I want to first honor and thank the incredible Dr. Darius Daniels for being so gracious inviting me to be here. And to his lovely and beautiful wife. Can you please celebrate First Lady Pastor Shamika Daniels and their entire family? Mama made it. I'm a Change. Sorry, I had to get that. I had to get that out real quick. I'm so honored to be here and be a part of this incredible moment. God is there with him, with Pastor Dr. Ari Vernon. He's here with us today. I just came from the other campus. They tried to grab me by my ankles and shake me. I said, I have to go and y' all have to go to brunch. Also. There's a word from the Lord today. I just want somebody to know. This opportunity really blew me away. I've known. I've known Dr. Daniels for a while, but it came out of nowhere. On my birthday week on, last on. Last week, my phone rang about nine o'clock in the evening. From out of nowhere to now here. 4 hours, 26 minutes and 26 seconds. A day of alignment, acceleration and agreement. Huh? I need somebody to know you didn't just come to church, but you came to change today. That's a word for somebody. Because your phone is about to ring. Your name. Oh, I got a faith section. Your name is about to come up. A door is about to open. Your promotion is about to meet your preparation. I dare you to release your name in the atmosphere and put a praise behind it. One, two, three. God has a way. God has a way of when you feel like you're unseen, reminding you that he sees you and knows exactly where you are. I want to acknowledge my Beautiful wife of 21 years, Pastor Erica Glenn. My partner in purpose, the nurturer of Glenn Nation. Everything is better when she's around. I'm so glad she's here. My team that joined us today, Chicago Natl. I know y' all in here came on down to the south. But in the brilliance of Dr. Darius Daniels, without further ado, he's given me a powerful construct to continue in this series called Humanology. You may be seated in the presence of God. And my assignment today is to lean into and learn this framework. I'm pretty full, so I have a lot to say. Catch the pace, process later. Receive the impartation of the word because he's given me a clear assignment. And today, as we talk about Humanology, we're going to deal with the humanity of Jesus in the way that he handled humanity. And Dr. Daniels was very clear about how he wants us to learn to be good humans and the goal of God not to remove us from humanity, but to reform our humanity. And anytime he does that, he reforms us by revelation. So Jesus shows us how to be human without living in the flesh. I got a hollaback church today, huh? And so Hebrews 4:15 is the context that we're going to lean in. And then we will go to Matthew 4, because I know this is a note taking Church. Hebrew 4:15, Matthew 4 is where we will land and live as we talk about this very important concept of being tempted, temptation, and how to deal with it and handle it. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness, but was at all points tempted as we were, or as we are, yet without sin. Very interesting. We do not have a high priest who is not touched by our weakness. He knows what it's like, what we're dealing with and what we have to deal with and what we have to go through in this humanity. And if we're going to understand humanity, we also have to understand how to handle temptation. And if we're honest, nobody in the room, nobody in the room can deny the fact that we all had to deal with it. So let me ask you a question. What do you do when God schedules you for a test? Huh? What do you do when God schedules you for the test and the test called temptation? You see, temptation is simply a tool for testing. It's the tool that God uses to test us. And anytime there's going to be an elevation or a promotion, there will always be a test before. But you have to be determined to pass the test in advance. And so we know how to celebrate promotion. We know how to celebrate promotion because there's always a recognition that when you are preparing for something, that promotion is inevitable. Where the preparation section at, huh? We know how to shout when the doors are open, but when the struggle of tests come up, we don't know how to learn how to surrender. So Jesus teaches us in humanity. He shows us as he starts, did not just start his ministry until he was 30 years old. He was being transformed and being prepared for it. At the age of 12, he had revelation of identity and knew who he was. But yet it was too early because he hadn't resisted yet. So he was held back or pulled back. Luke 2:52 says that while he was in the process of preparation, he grew in wisdom, in stature, in favor with God and man. Three areas you're going to have to grow in this life of humanity. You're going to have to grow in wisdom and stature with favor with God and man. Can you look at somebody and tell them, we got some growing to do, we got some growing to do? And so in our growth, and we always think we're more ready for, prepared for what the opportunity is before us. But. But the reality is that we are finished, but yet we're not developed. Jesus then disappears into a season of development from 12 years old to 30 years old. He's learning, he's growing, he's developing a skill as a carpenter. Preparation then now has to proceed his promotion because it's not in question what his purpose is or how he will express it. But if he can handle it, and if he's prepared for what's coming next, before he fully steps into his purpose. God schedules a test. God does it. Not the enemy, not the devil, not Satan. But God schedules the test because temptation is a tool for testing. In Matthew 4, we see it when Jesus was led into the wilderness for 40 days. And after fasting and hunger, he's not being tempted. He's not being led by the devil. He's being tempted by the devil. He's being led by the Spirit. That's why Jesus said, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil. We often think that if we're being tested that it must be the devil. But what if I told you that temptation is scheduled by God? What if I told you that God scheduled schedules temptation not because he wants you to fail, but because he believes that you got what it takes to get to the next level? And I don't know about you, but I don't trust anything that hasn't been tested. So there is a time where we must understand that you have to be determined to pass the test because your promotion is on the way. We live in a culture, an atmosphere, and an environment where testing and temptation is all around. People tell you, get what you want, you can have it your way, do whatever you want to do. No regard for character, no regard for restraint or practicing restraint. But I'm telling you that that's contrary to Kingdom theology and Kingdom thinking. I have to learn how to be in it, but not of it, huh? And so what God tells us or teaches us through the reality of Jesus is that temptation isn't a new problem. In fact, it's a predictable pattern that's been around since the beginning of time. Time. And if, when we simply learn or recognize the pattern, then we can resist the pressure. And if you don't recognize the pattern, then you'll keep repeating the problem over and over again. Because if God is adamant about your advancement, then he's adamant about you passing the test. I need you to look at somebody and tell them you got to pass this test. You got to. You got to pass the test because your promotion is so important and you are needed and you are necessary. So when in Matthew the fourth chapter, Jesus, fully God, fully man, fully God, fully man, is led into the wilderness to be tempted to show, to be tested, to show us how to pattern or handle the test, Hebrews 4:15 told us that he's not a high priest that can't be touched. Because we know that before we step into what God has called us to do, you will have to fix face everything that tries to stop you from doing it. If you can be talked out of it, you don't deserve it. If somebody can push you back, you shouldn't have it. Is opposition make you run the other way, then you ain't ready for it. But I got somebody in here that understand how bad you want it, what God has assigned to your life. You refuse to back up or back down. Just because the enemy comes to push you don't mean that. He going to punk you. Talk to me up in here. So here God is. God is fully God, fully man. And Jesus teaches us how to avoid temptation. He doesn't teach us how to avoid temptation. He teaches us how to master it. If God had to endure it, what do you think we have to do? If God had to wrestle with it, why would you think that we would be omitted from that part? No, he shows us that this is how you master it. This is how you live in humanity without fulfilling the lust of the flesh. He tells us and gives us the. The cheat code. Somebody shout cheat code. Cheat code. Three points that he tells us. Is that the pat that temptation has a pattern? Temptation has a pattern. It's a predictable pattern. It's not new. It's. It's. You can almost see it coming. You can feel it coming. You can know it coming. I got some honest people in the room today that say I can feel, when it's on its way, temptation. The closer I get to where I'm going, I feel here comes the distraction. But I will not be distracted. I will not live in dysfunction. I'm going to stay focused on what God called me to do and do and who he called me to become. So first John 2 and 16 reveals the pattern of temptation very simple. First, John 216 says, for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. All that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the pride, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. In other words, anytime we deal with temptation, temptation follows predictable pattern. You think that it's about the object of your affection, but it's really not. It's always going to come in one of three categories. It is always going to come in the lust of the flesh, always going to come in the lust of the eyes, always going to come in the pride of life. Because temptation has to follow a predictable pattern. This is why the Bible says that we are not ignorant of Satan's devices, because he don't have any new tricks. Been there, done that, seen that, and already know how it's gonna end. Got the T shirt. And I said, never mind. The truth is, if temptation follows a predictable pattern, then we must understand that it begin in the beginning. Everything that has ever been began in the beginning, which is God's original plan and blueprint. In Genesis, the third chapter, we see in the fall of humanity, in the fall of humanity, that the serpent was more cunning than any other beast of. Of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said. He said to the woman, why are you talking to her? He said, has God indeed said, you shall not eat of every tree in the garden? Then he says, God has said, you shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die. Then he said, you've been talking too long to the serpent. You knew it was a snake. Why you sitting here having a whole conversation to a snake? Snake? Like it's a. I'm sorry. I digress. Verse 4. Then the serpent said to the woman, you will not surely die. Then the serpent contradicted what God said, you will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of the eye, that your eyes, eyes, eyes will be open. And that you will be like God, knowing good and Eden. Because Satan always try to offer you the truth as a lie. Satan always try to twist and turn whatever God said. Because everything that God said is true. And anything that the enemy says is a lie. So no need of you trying to find truth in a lie that the enemy told because he's incapable of telling the truth. Because he is the father of lies. And so he presents to her, isn't this good for food, y'? All? Okay. Which is lust of the flesh or Isn't this blessed pleasant for the eyes, which is lust of the eyes? And is it this desire to make you wise which is the pride of life? So you mean to tell me that from the beginning of time, when temptation ever entered into the garden, it came in one of three categories. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Can you nudge your neighbor and say, no new tricks. No new tricks. No new tricks. And so if it came in the garden with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, then it going to come and show up in my life and in your life in the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. And so what Adam did was he ate when Eve offered him the fruit. Adam ate and he failed. And then had the mitigated God to tell God the woman you gave me, I dare you blame her, huh? Because you cannot blame a woman for your lack of leadership. You got to understand, understand. You got to understand that when she ate, nothing happened. But when he ate, that's when sin entered into the world. Because God never told her. God told him, y' all better talk to me up in here. And you got to know that whatever God told you might not be what he told your neighbor. And just because your neighbor can get away with it don't mean that you can get away with it. You got to know what God said you can have and what you can't have. Because everything is not forever. Body. Ah. And so, and so, and so and so. Agreement. Agreement. Agreement didn't happen until Eve. Agreement didn't happen with Eve. Agreement happened with Adam. Because if the truth is that that you do not fall into temptation because you're tempted, you fall into temptation because you agree. Help me, God. Oh, God. I'll come back to that. Because what Jesus then shows up in his earth suit and he says, I have to fix what Adam failed. He said, adam, you didn't handle this right. And so I'm a step into my earth suit. I'm a test it out, and I'm going to show you how to win. So everybody that come after me will have no excuse. I'm looking for the winning section in the room. I'm trying to find the people in the room that refuse to go under. But know that you're about to be an overcomer, and you got to pass the test. Can I get you to release a praise right there, like, it's already done. High five. Three people around you. Tell them I got to win. I got to win. I got to win. I got to win. I've been tested, I've been tempted, but I got to overcome. I've been, I gone through in the fire, but I'm coming out on the other side. This is not. Oh, God. Gotta calm down. Don't do that, don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that, don't do that. Jesus had to fix what Adam failed. Jesus had to fix what Adam failed. And so in the garden, he's revealed as the serpent. Y' all staying with me? In the garden, he's revealed as the serpent. But the serpent in, in. In the New Testament is revealed as Satan. Doesn't say it's Satan at the top, says it's Satan in Matthew, says it's the serpent. Because Satan always loved to disguise itself in ways that you may not understand who it is, but Satan's gonna always tell on is going to always push you in. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life might be six feet tall with muscles, but is it, Is it the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes or the pride of life might have lips, hips and fingertips. But if they love of the flesh, lust of the eyes or pride of life. You gotta watch it, Watch it. Tell your praise partner. Tell them, watch it, watch it, watch it. Watch yourself, watch yourself, watch yourself. And so here, here in Matthew, Jesus said, let me fix what Adam faced. Here in Matthew, Jesus said, let me, Let me fix what Adam failed. Let me fix what Adam failed. So everybody that come after me can get the same victory that I have. So they can understand that even though I'm God and I'm human, I still know how to function in my humanity and still let my God give me the victory. So he's led by the Spirit, led by the spirit to be tempted of the devil. After he's fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, practicing self denial. Because everything that's good to you is not good for you. Y' all gonna help me preach up in here. Change. And so he starts to offer him. Jesus is hungry. He said, turn this bread. If you, if you, if you are the Son of God, if you are the Son of God, command these stones to be turned to bread. If you are son of God, if you are so sick and tired of people trying to get you to perform to per. To prove who you are, I don't know about you, but I got somebody in 2026 that says I'm through performing. You Gonna either figure it out or you gonna catch it later. You'll miss me when I'm gone. Cuz how you see me never determines who I really am. It just determines what you receive from me. I hope you don't miss the blessing that's sitting next to you. Cuz I am who God says I am whether you like it or not. High five somebody and tell them no more performances. No. No more performances. No more. No more. No more performances. No. No more performances. Because here's the truth. Flesh. Flesh always wants you to perform to prove who you are. Perform for love. If you really love me, then do this. No, if I really love you, I love you. Love don't have no explanation. I love you because I said I love you. Not because I bought you something. Not because I gave you something. Not because I took you nowhere. Flesh always wants you to perform for who you are. Prove yourself. Prove yourself. If you are the son of God. If you are, you are the son of. You know I'm the son of God or you wouldn't be talking to me like this. You know who I am or you wouldn't be dealing with me. You know who I am. If you are the son of God, throw yourself down and give your angels charge of you. Do you see how the enemy takes an incomplete sentence? A little bit of the word of God. He takes a little bit of the bread. If you are, then. If you are, then turn these stones into bread if you are. Don't the words say Jesus is the bread of life. Jesus is the living word. Because anytime Satan tests you, he'll always try to take a little bit of who you are. He'll try to take a little bit of who you are and what you want and offer it to you so that you think that you have to complete or compete something that he is trying to offer you. But you cannot offer me what I already have. You can't offer me what I already. If I know who I am, then you cannot try to control me by offering me a revelation that is not rooted in my God given identity. I got to calm down. Y' all going to brunch and I'm going to be here at 12:30. Listen, Satan always tempts you with a piece of yourself. He says if not, then. If not. If not the lust of the flesh, if not the pride of life, then let me try with the lust of your eyes. Let me try with the lust of your eyes. He said in verse nine. All these things I will give to you. If you fall down and Worship me. I will give you all these things if you fall down to worship me. And here's the lust of the eyes. Because you didn't want it until you saw it. We want what we see and we see what we want. And that's why you got to be careful what you see. Because there are some things that you see that you can't unsee. And you wish you would have never saw it. Because once you saw it, then you wanted it. And you didn't really want it until you saw it. That's why you can't see it. I don't got time to be looking at any and everything. I gotta sanctify my eyes. I don't know about you, but I know me. And the moment I see it, I start wanting stuff that I shouldn't have. There's some things I don't need to see until I see. Because I can't unsee what I see. I can't unsee what I see. I can't unsee what I see. I see what I see. I saw what I saw. But I ain't won't. I wish I would have. Have you seen her? I haven't. And I don't want to. Temptation. Temptation gets your attention. And then temptation gets your attention to get access to your appetite. Temptation gets your attention to get access to your appetite. Temptation is neutral. It's not bad. It's a tool. It's just a tool. Why you mad at temptation? Temptation, like I didn't do anything to you. I can't do anything to you unless something in you agrees with me. And so the problem with temptation, point number two, and I gotta go. Is. Is. Is that each one of us are only tempted when we're tempted by our own desires and our. And our own entice. Tell your praise partner. Say, mind your business. Mind your business. Come on, tell them. Mind your temptation. Mind your. You. You pointing out my stuff. You got your own stuff. I don't care how your arms crossed. I don't care what your lips stuck out. I don't care if you look like you was born on the glory. Everybody that's in this flesh gotta fight it. And everybody that's born here gotta deal with it. And if God, who is fully God, fully man, has to deal with temptation, then what makes us think that we're gonna be any different? And so I have to learn that the pattern of temptation only comes not just from what's around me, but it works through what's in me. That temptation to have power needs to have agreement that there can be a different. So Jesus shows us how to deal with it. He says, different setting, but the same strategy, different set. No new games, no new tricks. So nobody's going to be caught off. Because patterns are always predictable. God doesn't tempt you, but he does test you. And patterns are always predictable. And so Jesus gives us keys, which is the word of God, to teach us how to deal with the predictable patterns that come. You know, predictable patterns. You know, predictable patterns. You like, you know, if they call you, but it's only at night, though, You know, predictable patterns. If they. They only come around you when they want something. You. You know, predictable patterns. When you find yourself in an emotional void state. State where you're not getting what you need at home. So you start seeking validation. Help me, God. You. You. You know, predictable patterns. When you start flirting with familiarity. And then when you flirt with a man, you try to say, oh, no, we just friends. It ain't like that, but you wish it was. Help me God. You understand how you start to compare yourself and find yourself in competition. These are subtle, subtle things. You see what you want and you see somebody else have what you think you. You deserve and what you see you want. And then you don't appreciate what you have. Then you start having silent frustration because you're comparing this with that and what you saw and trying to make this turn into that. But if you wanted that, you would have got with that. You didn't want that. That's why you didn't get with that. You got this. So why you want this to turn into that and be frustrated in your faith? And we were we. When we don't recognize the pattern, then we don't resist the pressure. When we don't recognize the pattern, we don't resist the pressure. And so God teaches us how to not be led into temptation. He says, I'm not going to remove your humanity. I'm going to teach you how to navigate it. I don't want you to live in fear of temptation. So uncross your arms and quit looking at me like that. This the Bible. I don't want you to live in the fear of temptation. I just want you to be led away from from it. I want you to wake up in the morning and say, don't lead me into any temptation. I want you to say, God, show me who in my circle that ain't on my crew. I want you to show me who around me that ain't with me. Because everybody around you is not necessarily with you. Pastor Daniel said last week, before deliverance, you need discernment. Show me God. Show me who and what so I can know how to pray. Because God says that I need to let you know that you are tempted but not trapped. Y' all ready to go? You tempted but not trapped. You tempted? Tell somebody I'm not trapped. I'm not trapped. Come on, tell them you not trapped. Come on. Come on. High five. Your praise, partner. Tell them you coming up, you coming out. Your promotion is on the other side of this. By the time you get to June, huh, Your next eight months is about to be greater than your first four. You've been going through hell and high water because God is about to push you. Why you been going through it? Cuz God's been bragging on you. Can I get you to high five serenity around you and tell him you got this. You got this. You. Hey. Tell somebody. I'm tempted, but I'm not trapped. I'm tempted, but I'm not trapped. I'm t. Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that. You have to understand, Said I don't change church. I got to finish. Y' all about to leave me and I'mma be. I'mma be here at 12:30. Listen. Temptation. Temptation. Temptation. Temptation always has a twin. Temptation has an identical twin. The identical twin is called the way of escape. The Bible says that with every temptation, there is a way of escape. So every time temptation shows up, the twin escape shows up. The thing is, you've been looking at temptation instead of looking at escape. Every time temptation walk up, you ought to bag up and say, where's escape? Where's escape? Because I know that if God got me here, he's about to help me get up out of here. I need somebody that's ready to. So. So Satan can't offer me what I already have. God help me. How does he do this in 35 minutes? Satan. Satan. Satan can't offer me what I already have. Satan can't offer me what I already have. Satan can't offer me what I already have. Satan can't offer me what I already have. Satan can't offer me what I already have. Adam had everything and still failed because he gave up everything for one thing. Jesus had nothing, but obeyed God because he knew he had everything. Because just because you don't see it don't mean I don't have it. So you don't fall because you tempted. You don't fall because you tempted. And you don't fail because of temptation. Temptation is neutral. It's a tool. You fall because you agree. You fall because you agree. Because the fall is never final. The fall is never final. The fall was only to tempt you, to teach you how to finish. The fall didn't shock God, it shocked you. I got some honest people in the room that say, I actually thought I was stronger than that, but I wasn't. I actually said I would never do that again, but I did. I actually just got in a relationship with the same person with a different name. How do I keep doing the same thing over and over again? Because temptation is not teaching me about them. Temptation is teaching me about. So instead of agreeing with the enemy, can you lift your hands all over the room and say, I agree with God, I agree. Come on. I agree with God. Come on. I agree with God. If you agree with God for your future, can you clap your hands and give God a shout right there? Can I get you to touch and agree with somebody in your section, two or three people, and tell them, I agree with God for you. I agree with God for you. I agree with God for you. No weapon formed against you will be able to prosper. No power is gonna overcome cause. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. I'mma be human without living in my flesh. I'm gonna be human. Lift your hands all over the room. All the victorious people. Can I get you to lift your head in the balcony? If you are overcoming, lift up your head. Come on, stand up on your feet while y' all sitting down. We gotta go. I know y' all sitting down. Cause y' all like the third point. I'm doing the third point fast, cuz I got to go. Dr. Daniels, how you do this? I don't know. The power to overcome temptation. For my note takers, the power to overcome temptation is simple. James 4:7 is the formula. The power to overcome temptation. James 4:7. Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, he will flee. How you do it? Temptation is not to be fought, it's to be resisted. Submit yourself to God. Resist the devil. He gonna flee. Quit running from the devil. He'll punk you. Don't have any armor for your back because you want born to run, you gotta fix it. When you. When you submit to God, you submit to his word. Lift your hands and say, I submit to his word. Bible says that he submit to his word. Jesus responded to him. Men shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. You gotta have word in you so word come out of you. You can't keep saying you didn't made me cuss you out. No, I didn't. You wanted to see. Look what you done made me do. No, you did. You wanted to do it. Whatever in you gonna come out number two. Everybody put your hands and say, I submit. I resist. Come on. So I submit to the word. I resist Satan. He said to him, all these things I will give you if you fall down and worship me. Temptation offers you a lie as a truth. You can't give me what you don't have. Then he said, and he will flee, remain submitted. Everybody say, I remain submitted. He said, you will worship the Lord your God, and only in him, only will you serve. You can never defeat willpower, temptation with willpower, power. You have to defeat it by surrendering. Here's the thing. The Bible said first 4 and 11. Then the devil left him. Then the devil left him. Him. And behold, the angels came and ministered to him. I came all the way from Chicago today because you've been resisting all week and you about to resist all summer. And. And God sent me here so you get your strength up. God sent me here because resisting takes work. Giving in is easy. But when you resist, how many of you know when you don't do what you want to do until you don't want to do it no more? That. That takes a lot of work. How many of you know when you around people and you trying to evolve out of your circle and they still stuck on stupid doing the same stuff and you trying to go, you think you somebody, you changing. That's right. I go to change church. I'm changing. That's the point. But you won't change what you're not willing to confront. You won't change what you're not willing to confront. And so we have no excuse. Jesus is the blueprint. Jesus became like us so we could become like him. This is kingdom, identity and humanology. He like us, we like him. So we can learn how to live like him and he can teach us how to live like you, understand? So he resisted. And then heaven responded, the devil left, and God showed up. Lift your hands for the next 60 seconds and just begin to worship God right now. Father, I pray the strength of God. I pray the strength of God over every person under the sound of my voice, that as we walk in our humanity but not fulfill the lust of our flesh. You taught us in your word, you revealed it in the truth. You showed us in the pattern of your behavior and your belief system, how we can overcome and deal so we will not be ignorant to Satan's devices, but instead, God, we will follow after the pattern of submitting ourselves, resist the devil and then he will flee God. And every day, every single day of our life, we get up not to just focus on what we can't do, but what you called us to do. Not just focus on what we can have, but what you called us to have. And God, not just focus on being a human being, a human doing, but focus on a human being. And we will become everything that you call us to be. And we give you glory, we give you honor, and we give you praise. And now, God, send a fresh wind of strength. Guest Speaker: [Name not specified]
Host: Pastor Dharius Daniels
Series: Humanology
This vibrant and passionate episode continues Change Church’s “Humanology” series. The guest speaker (honoring Dr. Dharius Daniels and First Lady Pastor Shamika Daniels) challenges the congregation to understand temptation as more than a challenge—it’s a divinely scheduled test and a tool for spiritual development. Using Hebrews 4:15 and Matthew 4 as anchors, the message explores Jesus’ humanity, the predictable patterns of temptation, and practical ways to overcome it in daily life.
“Temptation is simply a tool for testing. It's the tool that God uses to test us. And anytime there's going to be an elevation or a promotion, there will always be a test before.” — Guest Speaker (05:25)
“If we’re going to understand humanity, we also have to understand how to handle temptation… Temptation is a tool for testing.” — Guest Speaker (07:20)
“You do not fall into temptation because you're tempted, you fall into temptation because you agree.” — Guest Speaker (31:45)
“Temptation gets your attention to get access to your appetite. Temptation is neutral. It's not bad. It's a tool.” — Guest Speaker (48:00)
“Every time temptation shows up, the twin escape shows up. The thing is, you've been looking at temptation instead of looking at escape.” — Guest Speaker (58:15)
“Temptation is not to be fought, it's to be resisted. Submit yourself to God, resist the devil, and he will flee.” — Guest Speaker (01:06:11)
“Tempted, but I'm not trapped!” (throughout)
This episode offers a powerful and practical blueprint for understanding and overcoming temptation by following Jesus’ example. It’s a call to actively grow, confront patterns, and walk in the freedom that comes from agreement with God—not with the lies of the enemy.
