Hi, welcome to Cheers. I'm your host, Avery Woods.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Hey, Glamzilla.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Hi.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
AKA Stephanie. Thank you so much for being here.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It's unreal, right?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Crazy.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
This is so exciting. I'm so excited to kiki and chat with you.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I I so we met, I believe the first time we met was on a cosis brand trip in 2023, which is crazy. So it's been about two years.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, it's 2026, honey.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah. That's weird. I know. It's flown by. And I took my family on that trip. So you got to meet my kids and my husband and that was when we shot our Billboard.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, that was real.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
So unreal.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It was, it was a great experience.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I specifically remember your energy was so infectious. And I remember you made a video and I didn't even know you were recording, but I just remember your energy. And you were talking about cause you have psoriasis and you were talking about showing your skin and your body on the boat and we were all hyping you up and I was like, this is such a great group of energy of women, which is very rare in this industry, I feel. And, and you just exuded such light and happiness and I was really in awe of that.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Oh my gosh. I remember that exact moment.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And you're right. You know what's so crazy in that moment? No one will know this, but I was sitting with Mikayla and Mikayla's like, oh, my gosh, I'm insecure. So I said, you're insecure? Okay. You know what my biggest insecurity is my psoriasis. I never do this, but I'll do it on camera, right? So I said, okay, guys, I prepped everyone. I said, I'm gonna take off my.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Clothes for the first time on camera and I'm gonna show my psoriasis, which I've been hiding for 15 years, okay?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And I said, okay, if I want to be a beauty, big sister, let me do it.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
So I got up, literally took my clothes off.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
This was before my tummy tuck. If you're listening, I got a tummy tuck. I lost over £200 and I had loose skin everywhere. So I said, I looked at Mikayla, I said, okay, watch this. I said, okay, guys, hype me up.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Hit record.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And I said, okay. And I showed it on camera. And then the second after, it was everyone cheering and it was just womanhood and girls just wanting another woman to win. And right after that, Mikayla got up.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
And she did her thing and I was like, that's it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I loved it.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
I loved it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah. And it's just. I don't know, I feel like you meet so many people in this industry and there's a lot of different personalities, but I feel like people gravitate towards you because your energy is so infectious and just happy. And I feel like that's lacking a lot in our industry, especially online. But I think online and in person, you really bring such a positive light and I really appreciate that.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Thank you. I. I appreciate you starting off like that. Because a lot of people think it's fake.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
No, knowing, you know, knowing you personally now for two years, which is crazy. It really is who you are. You're a very genuine person. I think when I first met you, I was like, wow, she's very quiet and soft spoken. But when it comes out and she's excited and surrounded by other positive energy, your personality comes out like, that's just who you are. It's not. It's not anything that's fake.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, well, like, even you, like, Avery woods is Avery woods, but then Avery mom, Avery friend, Avery's sister, she's different. And I think there's this a crazy idea that once the camera hits, that's the only version of you that you're allowed to be.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
No, sometimes I'm. Most of the time I'm sad. Most of the time I'm happy, I'm mad. There's so many different emotions as a human. Yeah, I'm just a human being.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And I also feel like when you're putting yourself online, you have the ability to show what you want to show. So if. If I want to show a different side of me because I'm trying to protect my peace or protect maybe a side of me that's not for the Internet, I'm going to do that. And I don't care if you think that I'm fake or different or changing my personality. That's what I'm doing to protect my peace and my family, my kids, my mental health. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
No.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You know, it's important. Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It's good to prioritize.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah. So you are such an OG Beauty creator. That's, like. I would classify you into, like, the OG category of people that really founded the beauty community.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Thank you.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
But I don't know much about you before that. So can you tell me a little bit about who Stephanie was before you took off online, what you were doing and how you kind of got into it?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
So I'm Asian. Okay. I grew up, like, my parents were like, steph, you're either going to be a nurse, a lawyer, police officer. Do something with your life, Work in government. You want to get dental, and you want to make sure you have insurance.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
The insurance thing is so real.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
This is what was my. Like, it was my duty. Right.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And once I got insurance and dental, I'm good for life. Right. Because I really do come from nothing. When I say, like, we didn't even have Christmas gifts. Right. Like, our joy was buying food, like, buying KFC or a pizza was my. Wow.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It was a treat.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
It was a treat.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Absolutely Right.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I ended up going to police school.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You did?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I went to police school.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I had no idea.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah. I listened to my Asian parents because I was like, it's my duty, All I need. Hey, if I became a cop, I.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Would have dental, I would have insurance, and I would sit right.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And, you know, and I. I would be covered for life. It was just the best thing to do. So I went to police school. And the first day of police school, I was wearing a Juicy Couture backpack.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
A Juicy Couture backpack. Okay.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
U. I just had freshly cut bangs, so think jet black, straight hair, fierce. Okay. Juicy Couture backpack. And then I had Snob.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
It's so funny what I remember, but.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
That'S like, a core memory.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Yes, it is a core memory.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
So I was wearing Snob lipstick, because at the time, Nicki Minaj had just said that she uses Saint Germain. Saint Germain by Mac was sold out. So the only other color I could get was Snob.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yep.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Okay, so that's what I wore the first day of school.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Channeling your inner Nikki for the police academy.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Love it. And then the first interaction I had was with my college bully.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Like, I thought high school was done. And the first day I get to college, I meet my high school bully and the first thing she says to me is, this is police school, not fashion school. And you know what? Home girl was right. I should have been in fashion school.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Damn.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I know.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
So did you graduate from the academy?
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Oh, heck yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
With honors, honey. No.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
That's so interesting. Especially because my husband was a police officer for 12 years and he left 2024, but he was a sergeant at that time. So I hear all of the stories of the academy. So I'm just like picturing someone walking in in like a juicy sweatset and bangs and lipstick and I'm like, what an icon.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
It was fabulous.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
That's hilarious.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
It was fabulous.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And let me tell you, I.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
When I did my police school school, like the final test, okay, the final.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Test when you're trying to be a cop in Canada, is you have to carry a 250 pound body bag.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
250.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Two fifty pounds. You need to carry that body bag and you need to take it from.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
One side of the room to the other. Homegirl was wearing acrylics. Oh, all right, homegirl. I was wearing acrylics.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Full set. Okay, honey. Okay. French tip.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Like iconic.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Okay. And I dropped the bag. All my nails rip off.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Ow.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
All my nails rip off.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
That hurt.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Okay, so imagine my life was changed and my heart broke because from now on I wear press on nails. Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Oh, I'm the same. I press on nails.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I only wear press ons, period. Yeah, because of that freaking moment. And that's police school for you, honey.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
So did you work as a sworn in officer?
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Oh, honey, never. Nah, I couldn't. I am not capable of that job. I know what I'm capable of.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
But you finished the academy. That's good job.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I finished it and it was great. So I ended up going to school for criminology.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Okay.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I ended up working in the government. I get.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
I get the Asian dream of mine.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
My parents wanted me to have dental and insurance, and I got that until I realized it wasn't me. My happiest moment of my day for getting ready for work was matching my Mac retro matte lipstick to the pants that I had. It was just my joy. So I would post my lipstick of the day, girl. And then I'd go to my 9 to 5 and I'd sit there listening to people talk about rapes, murders, and kidnappings. And it was. Yeah, it was horrible.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
What platform were you posting to first?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Facebook.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Oh, my God.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Not even YouTube. I was posting Facebook and I would go on live and I would stay there for hours just doing my makeup because it made me so happy.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Okay, and that was your first platform that grew?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Whoa.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It was insane. And I grew my community based on that.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
What year was that, honey?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I would say 2013 is when it started. Started. Started.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And you were growing.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I was growing then.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And what was your aha moment of like, whoa, this could really be a career for me.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You know what's so crazy? It didn't happen. My wow moment. This is a career. I could take this seriously. It didn't happen until very long. It happened when the iPhone 15 came out.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Really?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And what was it for you? That was your aha moment.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
So I have a. I don't have a great relationship with my parents and my mom, but I took my mom to the mall and I bought her an iPhone without a contract. It was 1,132 Canadian dollars. And I thought to myself, holy wow. Because it's one thing to buy it for yourself. Yeah, Right. Because I need it for work, but to buy it for my mom, that was my aha moment. And it was just so special. I remember going home crying in my, like, taxi or Uber.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah, I. I really relate to that. And I think that when people in this industry come from a different career of stability, and when you don't come from anything, like, I. I'm the same way. Like, I don't have anything to fall back on it. It falls on me. And I'm also grateful for that because it's given me extremely hard work ethic. But it's hard to leave stability, it's hard to leave insurance. It's hard to leave that every two week consistent paycheck, to really take that leap and that risk and bet on yourself. But the moment I was able to start providing for people other than myself and my family was when I was like, holy shit, it's a big deal.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I know. Like, and what's so crazy to me is, okay, you have this dream, right? And you don't know what's a dream yet. Like, to become a content creator. Right. And it just happens.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And then your dream comes true. That's exactly what happened to me.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Like, I lived my Asian mom's fantasy of getting insurance and. And dental, but then it never made me happy. Yeah. And to make that jump was the hardest jump for me because I had to choose it when I had nothing.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
So I was literally on welfare, living in government housing, and I had to choose that in 2016 when I had nothing still. And I had to build an audience because there was no other plan. Plan B. Because being a beauty influencer was already my plan B. Yeah. Right. And that's what was so scary about it. But that's what's so beautiful about, like, the reality that I get to be interviewed. Look, there's a freaking camera. There's a camera and I'm talking to you. Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
This whole episode's about you, girl.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I know, but it's amazing.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It is amazing. But you've also built such an incredible empire and you've also expanded and helped people outside of just beauty, self confidence, sharing your weight loss journey, now your wedding. Like you, you've built such a loyal audience and people look to you for advice and for realness.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Which is very rare, especially right now.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You're right. Like, so. So yesterday was my birthday.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Oh, happy birthday.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Thank you, Queen. And I. I looked at everybody who mentioned me on like. And wish me happy birthday on Insta Stories. Yeah. And I reposted all of them. And when I looked, it was all my followers and it was all photos of me with them.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Oh, that's really.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And I sat and each of them had a thank you for supporting me. Thank you for this. And it was so. It was a moment for me where I was like, oh, my gosh, this is really a community. Because before it was all my co workers. Right. Yeah. It was brands wishing me a happy birthday, but now it's my followers.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
My glam squad. People that like lipstick. Right. And that, to me is absolutely insane. I've never seen that in the beauty space before. Floor.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah. I was talking to Alex about this because whenever someone comes up to me and it's like, I'm so sorry to interrupt. Can we get a photo? I always tell them, like, please don't say sorry. You are the reason I'm in this position and have this career. Like, the least I can do is stop for five minutes, hug you, have a conversation, ask what your name is, take a photo, and that's it. Like, that's. That's also just being a human being. And I feel like that's kind of been lost in translation.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
But.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
But I'm never gonna act too cool to have a conversation with people that love and support me because at the end of the day, if I didn't have that. If you didn't have that, if anyone in the space didn't have that, we wouldn't have this career.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, and that's same for me too. But what's so crazy about it is I remember everybody cause I actually go through my DMs and I actually know like if you message me on dm, I will go and like your profile and I'll like your dog pic and I like your mom pic. And we built relationships.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I love that.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And like even my best friend in real life, in real life, in real life, Grace, she was my follower and like I really create real relationships with my followers because they're just like me.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah, totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)

Interviewer (Avery Woods)
In Canada or US or both?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I'm in Canada. A lot of people think I'm in the us yeah. Toronto. Raised baby Canadian strong. Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And how do you like it?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You know, I love the fantasy. I love the fantasy of being in la, of being in New York, of living my influencer fantasy. But home is where my heart is and I try to live in la. So I spent six months out here and it was, it was beautiful for the job, for Glamzilla. But like what fuels me is actually like my heart, my passion and like just being a good person. And the only people that remind me of those things, my heart, passion and being a good person are the people I love. Yeah. And when I'm out here in la, I kind of get so hung up and strung up in okay, what is Glamzilla posting next? Who am I collabing with? Oh my gosh. What is this?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
What.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
What's the next event? What is my outfit? And those are not the important things.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It's always go, go, go here. Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And. And if my goal is to change the beauty space, it's not by doing what everyone has Done in the past.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Let's talk about that.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Tell me what you want to change about the beauty space.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
So when I think about my beauty experience when I was coming up from 20, even before Facebook, where I learned my passion for beauty, where that grew, I think about Jaclyn Hill. I think about Jackie Aina, Huda Beauty Manny, Patrick Starr, Michelle Phan icons.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Oh, they raised me. All of them. Every single one of them.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And I think those are the good names. Right. Because there was a lot of people that I watched too. Right. For halls, for. Those are just the people I can call on now because they've. They're still here.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Right. But there was so many people that didn't make the list that I just mentioned now that were shitty people that just wanted to get a bag, that just wanted money. And the proof is in the pudding. You don't last.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You're not, like, you're not. You don't change the beauty space. And what. When I think about what I want to do, I want to do what Jackie did. Okay. Like, I want to make people feel empowered by just being myself. I want to do what Patrick does, where he's built an empire, and the empire makes a lot of money. But the product works. Yes. Doesn't matter how you flip it. Doesn't matter who uses it. That formula, you. You can count on. And there's a story behind each formula.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And good people, like, that's the difference of everyone that you've named. Yes, they're successful. Yes, they have money. They've created amazing brands and products, but down to their bones, they are good people.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Yes.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And they give back.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yes.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And yes, they have money, but they use it to help their families or donate or, you know, they really care.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah. And it's not even about, like, money or giving back to people. It's the passion. Because in the beauty space right now, we're going through a wave where we're about to enter a new generation of beauty. And if I'm sitting here as a current person that is would be considered an OG one day. It's my duty and my job to the beauty space, to fill it with passion, love, honesty, transparency, and bring back the beauty space.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And what's important.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah, I fully agree.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah. Because we've gotten sidetracked with the handbags. We've gotten sidetracked with the big cars, the lavish gifts. It's. It's. It's not about that. It's never been. It's just about lipstick. And if it works well or not, Totally.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah. And I. I think, too, it's very rare that someone is strictly just beauty. It's not like it used to be. You know, a lot of those creators, and even for yourself, it was just about doing your makeup and that was what they were known for. But I feel like with other social media platforms that have developed, it's become more lifesty. So a lot of these OG beauty creators, I've loved seeing them explore a different side. Like, Jackie's home resets when she's pressing her bed and lighting her forever mood candle. Like, I eat that shit up.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I know.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You know, but to her core, she hasn't lost who she is. And I think it's really important that, like, you said, like, we get back to that.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah. And, like, as much as I love growth and lifestyle, I love. I'm a beauty girl at heart, and beauty is what got me here. I would be stupid to showcase anything else because it's really my passion. Like, I love product. Like, I don't accept pr. I don't accept pr. What? No. I buy every single formula you see me feature. A lot of people don't know that because I. In order to appreciate the formula, I just spend my own money on it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Because I found myself back in 2021, 2022. I was featuring things just to feature them because they were the latest and greatest. But I don't appreciate or understand what that means to the mom that is spending her last on it. Like the little boy who's experiencing makeup for the first time, or the girl that saved up her money.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Like.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And to appreciate beauty, I need to remember how it was when I was just a girl.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It's also gotten a bit out of control, and I don't ever want to come off as ungrateful for the things that are shipped to my P.O. box. But when I moved, I told my husband. I was like, this is kind of an opportunity for me to weed that stuff out and say no and not give my address out, because I don't need 40 foundation shades coming to my house.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
House.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And kind of similar. I told him, I said, I would rather walk into Sephora, get shade matched, spend my own money on just the one product that I need that I know I'm gonna use because I bought it myself than have all of this. And I'm like, my favorite thing to do. Which, by the way, then my address got out the agencies, you know, and then they start coming, they start shipping. But, like, my last two huge PR hauls I got from my P.O.
Advertisement Voice
Box.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I just did giveaways. Like, I didn't even take a single product. I would so much rather just give it out. Or like, when I have my friends over, because the majority of my friends are not on social media. They look through my PR cabinets and they shop like, it's Sephora. It's the greatest thing ever. Like, that makes me so happy. But I don't need a cardboard box that's this big and a hundred pounds with all this lavish, insane stuff. It's just not relatable anymore. Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You know what's crazy? So that for me, you know why I got off PR list? Because a brand sent me a handbag. Yeah, a brand sent me a handbag. And I looked at the handbag and I knew what it meant. Because people think it's like, you see influencers unboxing handbags from brands. That's wonderful. It's nice. But it's a bribe. It's a fucking bribe. And that, like, I thought to myself when I got. I was like, oh, my God, I got this bag. I put. Made a video right away, unboxing the bag and showing the product. And then I caught myself. This is not helping the beauty community. This only helps me. And I could buy that bag on my own.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Right. So from then that day on, took myself off of every PR list and I bought my own bag. So when anybody sees a bag, just know I bought it. Godzilla bought it, period. Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
So kind of going away from beauty and focusing on other things that you've shared. I want to talk about your weight loss journey. Let's talk about it, because it's incredible. I mean, the honesty and vulnerability that you share. Like, I'll never forget the skims video. How. How long ago was that? Yeah, two, three years ago, I guess now. But there's such opinions online when it comes to weight loss, especially now. Right. I feel like I've never seen anyone give you hate regarding your weight loss journey, but I feel like it's because you were so honest and vulnerable and talked about it every step of the way. Do you think that's important and do you think that's why other people get so much hate when they have lost weight but didn't talk about their journey or I've seen other people talk about their journey later on after, and they just get destroyed?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Well, for me, you'll rarely see hate about me online.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
No, you're so loved.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Because I really and truly lead with passion and honesty. Because when I was sitting there watching other content creators, I saw the Manipulation. And we see it at work. You know, when a content creator is manipulating their audience, you get the same PR packages. You know, when it's bought, when it's a bribe. You know how the industry works. Oh, yeah. And to consistently choose the smaller road that's not walked upon. Mm. It's very hard. Yeah. And that's how I built my audience. So when I say, hey, guys, I want to lose weight because I want to have kids, it's the truth. And if I say, hey, this lipstick works, it's because it's the truth. It's just, that's why. That's why I didn't get a lot of hate. And, yes, I know other content creators who have the same big platform as me get shredded online for getting weight loss surgery or going on Ozempi. But I just built my audience, and I grew with my audience. And my platform is audience first.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Tell me about your weight loss journey. Like, let's do a little Cliff Notes version.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Where were you at? So you wanted to have kids, so that's. That's what motivated you to want to lose weight? What procedure did you have? What was your recovery like, and what made you ultimately come to that decision?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, so it was at a point. So I was living in a townhouse, and it was four sets of stairs. I could not walk up the four sets of stairs, and I was just not living life fully because of my weight. And then I went to the doctors, and they straight up told me, you can't have kids. Right? You just can't. And I realized, okay, my influencer dream is happening in the future. I want to become a mom. I need to set myself up for success now. And since it's my body, my whole lifestyle is going to have to change. I went straight up to the doctor, and I went to inquire about gastric bypass surgery, and I had my appointment, and I canceled it five times, really, Because I wasn't ready. If I do anything, it's because I'm ready and I'm prepared. I wasn't ready to commit to changing my lifestyle, not buying pizza and choosing cucumbers over pizza. I wasn't ready to be the new version of me, and I didn't share it online until I was ready, because I wanted to really and truly, like, live authentically online, too. Because if I didn't and I just got the surgery and I got skinny, my followers would be like, what the actual hell?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
So I got. I lost all the weight. I lost 245 pounds.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Incredible.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And I shared everything online and it wasn't me doing check ins of what I eat in a day. I was just showing people my. My true experience where I would get. I would walk in heels for the first time. I fit on a plain seat without having a seatbelt extender. I bought wide.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
No, regular sized boots.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Not wide, calf. So those little beauty moments. Yeah, right. And moments that made me feel good. And then I had to get skin removal surgery because I was so. I had so much loose skin.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Honey, it was amazing to see your transformation and I loved watching every step of it because knowing you from before to where you are now and hearing those things, those are things that people don't realize they have access to or opportunities to not have a seat. Not having a seatbelt extender, walking up a flight of stairs, fitting in a pair of boots, those are things that people don't realize. And that's just like the tip of the iceberg, you know, I feel like you were able to have so much fulfillment and joy in your life and who you were before, but it was the small moments that you were missing out on. Yes.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You know, oh, my God, I could cry. I could cry like, I'm not joking.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
I would never.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I would have never fit here and I would have been so uncomfortable. Like the fact that I'm slouching right now, I could never slouch before because my body would be this. Like.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
It changed my life.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah. And that's amazing.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
And what's so great about it is I was happy before. I was really happy before because I.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Took so long to build confidence.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Like being a fat Asian girl and then wanting a career as a police officer and then turning that into a beauty career when you're not the beauty standard.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And to build yourself up all these years, what's so crazy about it is when I was £400, I always felt beautiful, I always felt confident. But it was a different version of confidence when I lost all the weight. I was just more free to be me, not fake, not fake confidence. Before, I thought confidence was about being the loudest and funniest in the room. So nobody made fun of me. Right. Because I already had the jokes, I had to clap back and I was prepared and telling everyone, I'm strong, I'm confident. Even if I am £400, you can do it too. That was empowering to me then, but now I've realized it was all in my head and the power is actually just me.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Well, and I met the previous version of you.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You know, like that was My first impression of you, and knowing you now, you're still the same incredible human being. Like, it didn't make you cocky. It didn't make you. I don't know, it didn't get to your head. And I feel like with a lot of people, that can be very easy. That can happen very easily. But who you were before was still the same loving, bubbly, confident person. Like, again on the boat, taking off, like, showing your skin and.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And showing my. Even today, after the tummy tuck, I'm still wearing skims, honey.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah. Honey girl, that's a brand. I love that Skims owes you a contract, let me tell you.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
That would be my dream.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You know, I'm like, honey, where's the Glamzilla line?
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Yes.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I would love a lift and snatch moment.
Advertisement Voice
Literally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I'm like, Kim is my icon.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I'm like, skimberly, where's the Glamzilla Spanx?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
No, I'm not even kidding. Skimmed is one of those brands.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
For me, that was one of the most viral things I've ever. Like. It was popping up like, a year later for me.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
It's still popping up now and I've already lost all the weight.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It was incredible.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
No, I. Because it was so real.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It was so real and it was in real time. Time.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yes.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You don't need edits, you don't need cuts, you don't need filters. It was just like, let me show you what it does.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
And it's so freaking. I. I love skims. Anything that makes me feel.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
By the way, she brought me a gift, and it's Skims PJs. I love you so much, honey.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And it's a small.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Oh, I literally just bought. Did you see her little silk PJs that came out? I'm hosting a. All the preschool moms are coming to my house. And I was like, let's do like a mom's wine and pj. Nice. We're doing silk pj. So I ordered the pink ones from, literally from skims last night. Let me just say, they take my money.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Girl, girl, those Skims PJs, that's luxury.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Luxury. I'm like, can I buy more than one quality of every shade? Because I own every single color.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I love it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It's unbeatable.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I love it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I'm like, kimberly, we love you.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
We do. Where is the camera?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
We got three.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Kim, this is the pitch right now. I would love a Glamzella lift and snatch collab because.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Honey girl, tell her.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
No, no, seriously, it's The.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It's the best thing.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
The beauty community needs it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It's genius.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Life needs it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
That. That, like, skyrocketed for so many people, especially because I don't feel like it's talked about enough for. For women that struggle with their weight, you know, because a lot of them are like, well, these. This shape. What am I trying to say? These Spanx aren't going to suck me in enough. They're not going to fit me. They don't have the right size for me. So seeing that as a real woman with a real body, I was like, this would sell it to anyone.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, well, any version of me is wearing skims. And every version, like, I have dresses. One day, I hope to show Kim, I have had, like, my soft lounge set in size 4x3x2x1x. Honey, I'm now a medium.
Advertisement Voice
Hey.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
But no, seriously, it's iconic. I love it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
She's a size medium.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, I know.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Okay, well, first of all, congratulations, because you just got married.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Oh, yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
We have hubby here.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Oh, he's sitting in the corner.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
He came in and she introduced you. This is my husband. Isn't that the best? Ew.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
No, not ew. It's exciting because you finally get to see it.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
He's the love of my life.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
He's the love of my life. I love him.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
18 years. He's never going anywhere.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
We built this together.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Nobody knows that, but everyone knows that also.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
18 years is incredible.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You guys should be so proud of that. And I'm going on year 13 with my husband, and I feel so privileged for that.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
For love.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
For love.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Real love.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
For falling in love and having a strong relationship before I came into this industry.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I cry.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yes. Like that. Knowing that I met him when I was 18 years old. I worked at Starbucks. I was a freshman in college, and, like, we went through everything together. He made me quit my job so I could do nursing school full time. He worked 60, 70, 80 hours a week as a cop, overtime so he could pay our rent in our apartment. Like. But I would never be in this position if it wasn't for him. And it's so funny because when I was able to get him off the streets as a cop, we got to a point where we were like, either you can still work as a sergeant until you retire, or we have to have a nanny 40 hours a week with our kids. And we got to a point where we're like, when is. When are we ever gonna get these years back with our kids? We never will. And it's so interesting how bothered people are that he's a stay at home dad. But I'm like, you don't understand. We joke and say he's like my business manager because he supports me in every way possible. I don't have a nanny. I don't have an assistant. I have no one that works for me. Nothing. It's just him and I and the kids. And we now do our once a week date night with our babysitter, which is so nice. On Tuesdays. Every Tuesday. I look forward to. But he was that person for me when I needed support. And he helped me get through nursing school and start my career as a nurse and was so supportive taking outfit photos of me 10 years ago. And I wasn't making jack shit on social media. So it's all these things that we've grown and built. It's together.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And people don't see that side. But he is my rock and I know he's that for you. So I'm so happy for you guys.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You're right. Like, to have this career, okay. It's lavish, it's amazing. It's the dream job. But after you get your dream job, you need your reality to also be a dream. And I'm lucky enough to have that. But it takes time. Just like growing the career, it takes time, effort, and energy. And you have to be passionate and truthful and honest with your partner. Yeah. Because that's the only way it'll grow. Because for me, just like probably you, you've evolved so many times.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
So many.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You've changed so many times. And that person that you love needs to accept every version of you to get to the next stage. Right. So that's what we're going through right now.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I love that.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And I'll work. And just like he has to accept every evolution of me, I have to accept and love and embrace and cherish every version of his evolution.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Mm.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And I think there's something really special about having loved him and him loving me and all, like the worst versions of myself for our life or hardships that we've gone through to now where we are. We have so much appreciation of that together because that's not where we came from. But we worked really, really hard and supported each other to get here. But it's like all the versions that the Internet has never seen of me or who I was at 18, 19, 20, I'm now 30 years old. He's been there with me. Only he knows every step of the way.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Only he knows and it's so beautiful and so intimate.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Absolutely.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It makes it so strong. And, like, if you're. Listen when you're listening to this and you have somebody that you're looking at and you love them and you're growing this thing with them, just know it's possible. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It is. I tell people all the time, like, I feel like my single friends, because online dating, I feel like, has ruined dating because it's just an easy swipe and all about physicality and a quick hookup. No one, I feel like no one, like, approaches people anymore or is too shy to ask someone on a date or court them, whatever the case may be. But I tell my single friends, I'm like, there are still good ones. They might be rare to come by, but there are. But you have to work together, and.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
You need to be open to it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Because, like, if I'm swiping on Tinder and I'm expecting people to freaking just hook up with me, that's what I'm gonna get, because that's all I'm seeing.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
But if I'm trying to find a real connection, I need to be open to it. I need to be open to being hurt, and I need to be open to being let down. But that's how you find magic.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yes.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Right. That's, like, in everything you do. Like, it has to be come from passion, trust. Like, it's. It's the core.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
What made you wait almost two decades to get married?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
The goal has never changed. I come from, like, I really come from nothing. Mm. And if we were going to get married, we would do it right. I was not going to. To lock myself into a contract. Right. With somebody that I love for life. If I wasn't prepared to set my future up for success for my kids, if my goal is to change the beauty, space, and become a good mom, I have to lay the foundation down. And it took me.
Host (Avery Woods)

Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Wow. I was so obsessed with the no makeup. It was the most refreshing thing I've ever seen. I literally skipped makeup except lip liner. Today for you, I did a bare face. I was about to get ready, and I said, not with Glamzilla. No makeup today. But I just thought the message behind it, the confidence of you being a bride with no makeup on the altar, was I cried. I literally cried. I thought it was so beautiful. And doing your vows and promising your life to someone forever while you're bare faced was something very vulnerable and raw. What brought you to that decision?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Because it's not about Glamzilla.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Like, yeah, my job is to be a beauty content creator. But Bun is not marrying Glamzilla. He's marrying every version of Stephanie. So that moment was for me and him. And a lot of people don't know this, but we ran away. We got married in Vegas.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Really?
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Yeah. Honey, come on now.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
With the Vegas bag.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
With the Vegas bag.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
No, no.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
We got married in Vegas. Yes. And I am somebody who likes to do things wholeheartedly. And if I'm gonna marry you, I'm gonna marry you with my whole heart, and I'm gonna plan the future ahead of time. That's how it is. So it was never about wearing no makeup. It was never about that. It was just because it was the right thing to do. I already experienced every makeup artist do my makeup.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I love that so many people thought you weren't telling the truth because you're just that stunning. And, like, knowing you, I just know how stunning you are. And I said, no. Have you seen her use Caudalie? Like, you're literally the reason I have.
Advertisement Voice
A Caudalie addiction, by the way.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Every time I go to Paris, I go to the pharmacy and I'm, like, shoving. So I buy it. I buy so much overseas because it's literally amazing.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It is good, right?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And. Oh, it's. I. I use Caudalie every single day.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It's because it's. See? Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And I buy with my own money.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yes.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It's the best.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Any recommendation?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah. It's so good.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It's instant change. It works over and over again.
Advertisement Voice
Yep.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And I'm like, if you think she's lying, it's because you've never seen her apply the Vinoperfect serum. Or you've never tried it, or you've.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Never tried it, or you're judging your opinion based on someone else's. But also experience me.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You just have to realize you're just that gorgeous. Naturally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I'm just that girl.
Advertisement Voice
You are just that girl.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Just like, you're that girl.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Well, you're that girl.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And to really like. For any people living negative hate comments or think differently, you need to experience Avery or Glamzilla. Like one on one.
Host (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Have a conversation.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Then it would be completely different.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Totally.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Because you're just seeing clips of us. That's not my everyday.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It was amazing. I loved to see it. The sun beaming on your cheekbone, just reflecting off with that glass skin. It was everything.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It was literally. And you know what? It was a moment for the beauty space too. It was. It was crazy. Because there's so much more to beauty than product, than tutorials. Me feeling the most beautiful is when I feel inside and it's never outside. You know what I mean?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
And that's one of the most focused on things when it comes to wedding. Right. Is like glamour hair, what you're wearing, the venue. But at the end of the day, the most important thing is about love and who you're marrying.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
That's what it was about.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Mm.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It's always been about that.
Host (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
It was amazing. Thank you.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Girl.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I. I was obsessed. The wedding venue cancellation.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Oh, God. That was real too. Eh.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
That's what I was gonna ask you. Because of course, you know, people think it. It's made up. I was shocked when I saw. My heart broke for you. First of all, how. How soon before the wedding did the venue cancel?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yo, the wedding venue canceled on me. Seven days, Maybe even six. And you know what? It was so sad, girl. Like everything.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Imagine I waited 18 years to get freaking married. Okay? So I already knew what I wanted from my flowers. I already knew what I wanted from my. My food, my table, everything.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Everything was sized to that venue. And you know what I said to.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Myself when it happened?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I made that video.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
It was real. It was the moment I got off the phone with homegirl that canceled on me.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
So your emotions were all over the place.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Yeah.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
And I posted it. C' est la vie.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
But it all worked out.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
It all worked out. I have my dream man. I didn't have my dream wedding.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Did you still get married on the same date you were supposed to?
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Heck yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Just at a different venue.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, because we got married October 1st. That's our anniversary. So it was our. It was our 19 year anniversary the day we got married. So I never have to change it. Like.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Yeah, I only have to celebrate two days.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Like, I only want one day to have children.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Exactly. And what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, so it doesn't even matter. Whoa.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Did you guys honeymoon?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
No, we did a family moon. Oh. What's my. So my dream was to have. I thought my dream was to have a big influencer wedding, okay? So here's the gag. Let me tell you. So I ended up hiring a PR team.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Okay?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
I said to myself, you know what? We're gonna make this a big moment, okay? We're gonna have stories written on brides, Vogue brides, everything. Pitch it out. I did photo shoots so that I already had my images ready, wore all the beautiful designer dresses. Okay? And then Bridezilla happened, where I lined up all the top makeup artists to do my makeup. And then in the middle of the night, I was breaking down to Bun, and I said, okay, this is what's happening. This is the photo shoot. This is the makeup artist doing my makeup. And I looked at him, and I realized, holy crap, this is not my love. This is Glamzilla. The next day, I fired pr. I pulled out of every campaign, and I said, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it in my heart. And I didn't want to get caught up with what wasn't important. At the end of the day, it was just about being the best version of me for my husband.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I love that. Okay, we like to end with rapid fire. Okay, so we have some rapid fire questions. Are you ready?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, let's do it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Okay. Favorite brands to work with.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Oh, Skims, Dead Ass, Sephora. I really love Caudalie. Fenty Beauty.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
You're a big beauty. You're a big fenty girl.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah. Anything I love. I love art wholeheartedly.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I bought a Fenty lipstick because I saw your review of it.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Tulip Kiss.
Host (Avery Woods)
Yeah.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Obsessed with it. Also, your lips are like another breed, though.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Thank you. The real.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I know, because you're just naturally so beautiful. But, like, you applying a lipstick will sell anyone.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Oh, my gosh, no. I just love it.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Yeah, it's so good. An underrated product that people aren't talking about enough right now.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Colgate. Colgate toothpaste. Yeah, Colgate.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)

Stephanie (Glamzilla)
My gosh. If you want the whitest teeth, you need to use colgate optic white. 15 years stain prevention. And then if you want the cleanest dishes you need to use, you need.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
To use Dawn Power Wash. Heavy Duty.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Okay, this is a new launch.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Have you tried the green apple scent?
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
Yeah, but see, I'm about performance, not smell.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
Okay, I respect that. I respect that.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
I'm Heavy Duty Girl.
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
That's just launched because I'm a hoe for Dawn Dish soap. I'm spraying that sink with my scrub. Daddy, like, getting down. We Literally put Elfie in the sink the other day with the scrub daddy over his eyes. And he was like. He said. We wrote a note that was like, silly. It was like, silly Scrub daddy. It's Christmas, not Halloween. Why do we have masks or something? It was so cute. But I love cleaning my sink with Dawn Power Wash. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

My tattoo on my thigh says, I first saw your face in your father's gaze. From Protector. Her song about being a mom. She is everything to me. I went to the on the Run tour when I was nine months pregnant with Ziggy.
Stephanie (Glamzilla)
How many times did you go there?
Interviewer (Avery Woods)
I went to that one. And then, dude, I was supposed to go to two Renaissance shows. Had to miss both of them. I was devastated. But then I made up for it, and I went to the last concert of Cowboy Carter in Vegas.
Stephanie's Best Friend (Grace)
