I have an obsession you guys, and that is with the sheets on my bed. I don't know what it is, but
C
I would so much rather sleep in

my bed at home than in a hotel bed. It's the perfect like oatmeal creamy color that will match anything that you use for a duvet cover or comforter. You guys know I love my neutrals and I'm just obsessed with the way it looks. It's so crisp and clean and classy. But the best part about it is that David and I are two completely different sleepers. He gets very hot at night and I can get very cold at night. So one of our biggest fights we always get in is what sheets I'm allowed to order for the bed. He is very particular because he gets hot and it doesn't matter what time of year is happening, doesn't matter what weather is going on. He is a warm sleeper and I am always a very cold sleeper. Even in the summer. I have the covers up to my neck and it drives him absolutely crazy. But I always either have a foot hanging out or try to keep my body cool somehow. And I don't know what it is. But these Cozy Earth sheets gives you the perfect mix between being cool and also warm. It just allows your skin to breathe even on a hot summer night. And they're so, so Soft. You just sleep. So amazing. I can't even describe it to you.
C
The best part about it is every
B
time I invest in a quality sheet set, I feel like they don't wash very well and so they don't last very long. I'm never motivated to spend money if I know the product won't last. And my Cozy Earth sheets have lasted so, so long. They've gone through so many washes, they
C
truly are the best investment.

If you've been here since the beginning, then you'll probably realize that something feels a little bit different. I have something very exciting to show you and I hope you enjoy it because we worked very hard on it. So roll the cl. Hey, it's Avery. Welcome to Cheers. Oh my God. Cheers rebrand. Welcome to Cheers 2.0. Can you guys believe it? I started this podcast October of 2023, which is insane. We're going on three years and I started this podcast for no other reason aside from the fact that I can't keep my mouth shut and I have an opinion about everything and I don't have a lot of PR training, so it can get me in trouble. But also, I feel like sometimes that type of honesty on social media is very refreshing because you don't see it very often because of cancel culture. And I get it. I've been, I've been through the cancellations and I've seen, seen all the opinions, but at the end of the day, I just want to stay true to myself. And it was time for a little bit of a refresh. When it came to the podcast, and it was so much fun. We I had the whole unwell crew here at my house because when it came to the rebrand, I wanted it to be a reflection of the stage of life that I'm currently in. And that stage of life is pretty much just messy motherhood. A lot of people will say, like, I'm different or I'm, I've changed. And my life is drastically different from when I first started this podcast. When I first started this podcast, I was definitely in one of the busiest seasons of my life. And not that I'm not busy now, I am so Busy now. It's just in a different way. We're a different type of busy. When I first Launched Cheers in 2023, I was in the grind, the hustle. I had just left nursing. That same month I started the podcast. I was posting three to five TikTok videos a day, really trying to grow my social media platforms because I was so passionate about it and also wanted to make sure I could support my family because I left a career I worked my entire life for to give this a chance. And I'm so happy I took that leap because I would never be where I am today. And I'm so grateful for all of you that have been here and supported it since the beginning. Now I. I feel like I live a much quieter life and I still am so busy with work and I'm so grateful for that. But it's the first time in my life where my kids are in school full time, so I'm able to get all of my work done while they're in school. They are part of the swim team, dance, they're starting musical instruments, we have play dates, therapies. Like, there is so much going on in our lives that when it comes to Saturday morning, I'm like, oh, okay, I can have my cup of coffee in the morning and just like take a chill pill. But it's also been really nice to take a little bit of a step back when it comes to posting on short form platforms for content because I have been able to just put my phone down and live in the moment. But when we worked on this rebrand, we were like, okay, what's our goal? What do we want it to reflect? And that was just the stage of life I'm in right now. Which is why we filmed the new intro, which I hope you love, because I'm obsessed with it in my home because this is where I am the majority of the time if I'm not being a minivan carpool mom. We are at home. And I am so lucky that I work from home. Unless I'm in the studio or going to an event, I'm here with my kids. I'm at every drop off, every pickup. Five days a week I am taking my kids from school to swim practice and all of their extracurricular activities this weekend alone. On Saturday, Sunday we had three birthday party. So we are always on the go when it comes to my life as a mom. But a lot of my life is lived here in the comfort of my own home. So like the little innuendos of the glass of Wine with the ironing board or hanging the laundry with my rollers in my hair with the cigarette in my mouth. Like, that is all very accurate. Aside from the cigarette, it's a fake cigarette from Amazon. And I felt very cool with it. I'm not gonna lie. Unwell. The girls that were here to help me with the rebrand were dying laughing because I could not take that fake cigarette out of my mouth. I've never smoked a cigarette in my entire life. I don't know why. It's just never, like, appealed to me. But I'll. I'll smoke a joint. I will. I will smoke a joint. But it was just. It was kind of like a messy mom, rebel mom, cool mom. And we really channeled the mom from Parent Trap, Elizabeth James, who's the wedding dress designer. When she walks out and she's like, I haven't seen Nick in. I can't remember what it says. But anyways, when she's, like, coming out of the closet with her rollers in her hair, with her cigarette and her sunglasses, and she's like a put together, sophisticated, sometimes elegant mess that has it together, but also doesn't have it together and trying to balance it all with a career and a business and motherhood. And it was the perfect way to make it reflective of me as a person and a parent and the stage of life I'm in now because a rebrand just felt necessary for my life. Shifting so much, especially moving states with some really exciting projects coming up that you guys don't know yet, but you will very soon. And it just felt like the time was right. So I'm really excited for what's to come. I hope you love our new little additions that we've made. And we just have a lot of fun things coming up. So I'm really, really excited. I feel like not just with myself, but any public platform. People always talk about the change or watching people change or they're a different person or they're not the same anymore. And I feel like that's how it should be. You know, everyone grows and evolves and changes over time. You don't ever want to stay stagnant. Staying stagnant means you're not growing in life. And I feel like a lot of you guys have grown up with me, which is really fun. Seeing where Cheers is at now compared to where we started is night and day difference. And something I'm so proud of, especially because the first two years were completely on my own. It was just me and Scotty, and we had no idea what we were doing. We had the shittiest equipment. And now being with such a large production company and having such an amazing team behind me has been such an incredible experience and I feel so proud of that and I feel so proud of where we are today and where we're going and what the plans are. Because there's a lot of hard work that goes into podcasting behind the scenes that people don't see, and you really have to put that work in. And on top of everything else I have going on, I feel like you have to prioritize each avenue with a hundred percent effort and it can be really exhausting. But now being able to take a step back from my short form content, I've been able to pour a lot more of myself into my podcast audience and really listen to what you guys want to hear and what you want to see and what guests you want on, because that's what makes it fun. And there's a million different podcasts you can listen to. And I'm, I'm obviously so, so grateful for you guys choosing to listen to mine, but they're all fun in unique ways. And I feel like it's really cool to see the evolvement of podcasting because, for example, when someone's on a press tour, right, you'll see a celebrity and they're on every single major podcast all in like the span of just a couple weeks. But you still want to watch all of them because a different host has a different personality. They might vibe a little bit different with that guest. They are going to ask different questions. So it's cool to, you know, stick to what I know and what I'm good at and just make this podcast feel more like who Avery is now in 2026. Because I'm just not the same person that I was back in 2023 when we first started kind of going back into filming the new intro. Like I said, Unwell was here was an all women team. We shot for like eight hours. I think we did our intro, we did new cover photos, social media clips, social media posts. We did. We talked about a lot of graphics and colorways and it was just so fun to like get the laundry baskets and Stevie's little princess dresses out with her stuffed animals and the burnt toasts on the counter, like the little details of what it is to be like in the depths of motherhood, because it is sometimes the trenches, okay? Motherhood can be very overwhelming, very exhausting, but so fulfilling, especially being a working mom. It's just so much to balance. So we kind of tried to incorporate the chaos of what my life is. And I think Unwell did an incredible job. Like they really pulled it together exactly like I envisioned it. And so it's so cool to finally see it come to life and, and to have this new rebrand that we get to witness just across all platforms and seeing it evolve from the beginning. Like, guys, my first ever cover photo for the podcast in 2023 I made on Canva. I literally hired my friend to do the photography at a local studio. I put it on Canva and I like chose the most simple cursive font and I made it myself and I screenshot that and that was literally what I put on Spotify. Like I had no idea what I was, what I was doing. But to go from that to this is like such a cool full circle moment.

Like I said, my life was so different than it was so much more chaotic in a different way. And so I feel like the softness of the intro is kind of a reflection of the softness and simplicity of what my life is. And I was working on a project with someone and they were saying, like, we feel like your life has more to it or maybe there's some like, missing drama or there's more, like, interesting things to talk about. And I literally was like, like, no, there's not. Like, my everyday life is pickups, drop offs, carpool, sports events, and work when my kids are gone. And I feel like the softness of the intro is really a reflection of that and the fact that I've been able to really put my phone down this year and live in real life. And 2025 was such a hard year for me and I've grown in so many different ways. And so I feel like it's not just a rebrand of the podcast, but it's a rebrand of Avery in general. Like I said, 2025 was really hard for me and I've grown a lot because of the effort I've put into my mental health. I am an advocate for therapy. I go to therapy Every single Thursday, 10am I don't miss it. And it's truly changed my outlook and not to be dramatic, but really changed my life because I was not in a good place after everything I experienced and that we experience as a family. And it's hard when you're, I hate to say, like the word public figure, but when you live your life so publicly, people don't see what you're experiencing off camera, but you still have to show up every day to make sure that you're fulfilling your job obligations and also being able to provide for your family. You know, I don't work for myself. I work for. First of all, I love it. I love what I do. And so that motivates me. But also, like, I have to make sure that my kids have the best possible life and have everything that we never had. That's. That's our. That's what we feel is our job is as parents, is we work really really hard to make sure our kids are set up forever. And so it's really hard when I had to fake it for a long time. Like, I feel like the better half of 2025, I was not myself at all, both on and off camera. And that's why I just had to stop reading comments, because I was reminded every day by strangers that I was not the same person. And it's true. Like, I really was not the same person. And so I still. I don't think I'll ever be the same person. I don't think anyone is. That's what we're talking about, like, growth and evolving. But it's. It's finding the version of yourself that you're proud of and putting in the work and therapy and focusing on your mental health and putting your devices down and just realizing everything you've ever wanted is right in front of you. That gave me a different perspective on life, and it really shifted my brain and it made me a better person, friend, mom, wife. And I'm so grateful for those lessons. And now going into this rebrand, like I said, it's not just a reflection of where the podcast is going forward, but also where my business is moving forward and where I'm at moving forward. I feel like it's so rare for someone to be in my position where I worked such an intense career that I dedicated my life to as a nurse, to then growing on social media and making that its own business in itself, because I never expected to leave nursing. That wasn't a life. This wasn't a life that I signed up for. It just happened. And I shouldn't say that I should give myself more credit. I worked very, very hard at both at the same time to be able to leave nursing eventually. But again, it wasn't in my original plan. And so a lot of you guys have been there since the beginning and watched this evolvement of Avery going from. I mean, if you've been here, like, way since the beginning, you know, nursing school, failing my nclex, and then passing it, starting as a new grad, getting hired to the PICU, becoming a new mom, working the PICU, starting aesthetic nursing, blowing up on TikTok, and then growing this business where I had the ability to leave bedside to be with my kids so much more. It's such a crazy story. And it's just so, yeah, there's not a lot of people in this industry that have. Have been through that. And so I. I do feel I have a unique perspective and work ethic that I'M very grateful for nursing because I feel like it gave me that. But now being in so much more of, like, a soft era of life, I feel like we have so many other things we can talk about. And nursing will always be a part of who I am, but I feel like there's so many more subjects out there that, that we can have conversations about. And so I want to hear from you guys of what you're wanting to hear, what you want to see. And it's just going to be fun. It's going to be a fun year. All right, now that we have touched on the rebrand, I want to talk about my trip to Paris because we just got back from Paris three days ago. What day is it? Today's Monday. We got back Friday night at 9pm Had a birthday party Saturday 2, birthday party Sunday. So Dave and I are so tired.
B
We.
C
I woke up this morning on Monday morning to take the kids to school and I was like, I feel like I got hit by a bus because that time change will wreck you. But I will say I was. I did really well adjusting back to the time change because on Friday, well, Thursday to Friday basically sit up for 24 hours. I refused to sleep on the flight because I knew when we landed we'd be going home and be home in the evening time. And I needed to adjust my sleep schedule because I knew Saturday morning would come knocking and those kids would be so excited to see us. And of course I'd want to get up and spend time with them. So I was like, if I don't sleep, I will be so screwed. So I stayed up for about 24 hours. I watched the entire season of Virgin
B
river on the way home.
C
The new season. I'm not like a big, cheesy show type girl. I'm not gonna lie. That's not usually like my favorite thing to watch. But Virgin River. I fuck with Virgin River. I don't know what it is. I don't know if she's. It's because she's a nurse or the small town vibes, but I love it. So I watched the entire season and then I watched some Legally Blonde. Actually, the main character from season one of Bridgerton was sitting right next to me. And then Kiki Palmer was behind me and I was like, okay, okay. Because everyone's coming back from Paris Fashion Week. So it was really cool. I didn't talk to either one of them because I'm sure they wanted to be left alone. But I was telling David and he was like, I have no idea who those people is. One thing about David, he doesn't know who anyone is. And then in the opposite effect, he'll point someone out to me and be like, hey, that's so and so the actor. I'm like, no, it's not. It's not even close. And I'll show him a photo on Google. And he's so beyond wrong. Bless his heart. He just doesn't know anything about pop culture because he doesn't have social media, so he doesn't know what's going on. But any who says we decided to go to Paris because like I said, we have a lot of projects coming up and it will require me to stay pretty local and make sure I have a flexible schedule around what's happening. And so David and I were like, let's take one final vacation, just the two of us, before life gets crazy. And one of our favorite places in the entire world is Paris. This is our third time going. We went in 2000, 22, 2024, and then this year, 2026. Fun fact, when we first went to Paris in 2022, we bought the tickets a year prior during the pandemic because all the airport workers were on strike and everyone was losing their luggage. So no one wanted to travel. So the tickets were dirt cheap. We paid like 500 round trip. Mind you, we flew coach, which when you have a 6 foot 5 husband, not the best idea. But that was all we could afford at the time. We were grateful to go. So we bought round trip tickets. We went in 2022, and we only took carry ons because of the airport strike. We didn't want to have our luggage lost. So it was really hot. In August in Paris is very, very hot. So I literally just took like little dresses, rompers, rolled them up, fit everything in a carry on for eight days. We had like the shittiest flat you could ever find. There was no air conditioning, but we had the best time. We just like rode scooters everywhere and went to like the cheapest little corner stores to get baguettes and cherry tomatoes. And it was just such a magical time on that trip. We went in 2024 because our very dear family friends Deb and David have a flat there. And they're like, you guys can stay. So we're like, free places. Stay, let's go. So that was really fun. But I feel like the first two times we went to Paris, we did all the like classic touristy stuff, right? You go to the Louvre, you go to palace of Versailles, you know, go to the Eiffel Tower. Like, the second time we went to Paris, we paid an ungodly amount of money to eat at the restaurant at the type of the Eiffel Tower. It is not worth it, I'm telling you. It's a gorgeous view, but for the price, the food is not worth it. But it was a cool experience right now this time going because we had done all the touristy stuff. We went with Deb and David, which we have never been to Paris with them. We've stayed in their flat before, but if you don't know who they are, by the way, Deb is like my adopted mom is what I call her. She is who essentially started my social media career. She's the one that reached out when she was involved with Cherokee uniforms and would send me free scrubs, like, in exchange for Instagram photos. She's the one that made me make my Instagram public when I only had 500 followers to get free scrubs. And I was like, okay, yeah, I'll. I'll get free scrubs. So anyways, that was over 10 years ago. So she's been in my life for a third of my life. She. I knew her before I got married and she's lived with me throughout, having my babies and watching me evolve from a nursing student to now where I'm at today. And I'm so grateful for her. Also grateful for her flat. She has exquisite taste. It's such a beautiful apartment. And we have never done Paris with them. And they now go every three months because they have their place there, so they have a bunch of local friends. So it was so cool to be in Paris and live like a Parisian, you know, like, we hung out with all their friends. We went to like the little hole in the wall speakeasies and solve live performances and went to these hole in the wall restaurants I would never go to and had the best food. Deb and I pretty much vintage shop the entire time. The amount of stuff that I was able to buy and bring home would shock you. Like, people love to shop in Paris because if you don't know, prices are much lower and you get a tax refund at the air. Do save a lot of money when you buy designer items. However, that doesn't even excite me. I love thrifting, but vintage shopping in Paris is like another level of thrifting. The amount of cool vintage clothes that I got is so iconic because A, so much cheaper, B, no one in the states is going to have it and C, you can bargain with them. Like, for example, there was a Dolce and Gabbana leather jacket.
E
Fit like a glove.
C
Real leather, navy. Just. It literally looked like it was custom made for my body. It was 590 Euros. And I went to the girl and I was like, will you take 450 for it? And she's like, yep. So it's, it's really fun and I just love like unique pieces with history. And so that was a really, a really fun part of the trip. And I'm so glad I got to get all those items and bring them back. And I can't wait to show my stylist Jill because she's gonna love what I found.

One of the reasons I love Paris so much is because I feel like you're so disconnected from the world almost because you're so far away from home and no one knows who you are. Like, no. A couple people were so nice and said hi. But like, you're so disconnected from your normal day to day that it just feels like you're living on a different planet. And I love it. And it's so beautiful. Everyone always says, like, Paris is dirty and smelly. I'm like, have you been a New York City? Paris is not dirty or smelly if you're in the right areas. But like, I'll walk down the streets of New York City and I'll see literally a pile of human on the ground and they're like, oh, yeah, you shouldn't be walking around New York City in sandals because the floor is so dirty. So I'm telling you, if you can handle New York City, you would love Paris. Every corner is beautiful. Every building is from like the 1800s, has so much character, is so stunning, and I just love it. It's truly, truly one of my favorite places in the world. If it wasn't so far, I would love to have a flat there. But realistically, I'm like, I can't get that much use out of it. And I'm not ready to take my children that far yet. They're not ready to handle the time change. Stevie can barely handle a full day at Disney without a meltdown. I can't even imagine her on a 12 hour flight. It would be a nightmare. But I'm thinking when they're like 7 and 9, I'll probably take them because Stevie's favorite food's a chocolate croissant and Ziggy's obsessed with the Eiffel Tower. So we'll go at some point. Just not yet. One of my favorite meals that we had in Paris was actually at a sushi restaurant, which I know it's cliche, but it was Just a different vibe. You guys. Like, the fish was so fresh. It had the best drinks. And actually, Macaulay Culkin's brother was sitting at the bar, and I was trying to tell David, and he's like, I don't know who that is. And I was like, he won an Oscar last year, and I think he was there for. He was probably there for Paris Fashion Week. There was a lot of people there for Paris Fashion Week because we would walk by and there would be, like, a Mimi show. Then there was a Givenchy show. So you'll see, like, a lot of celebrities walking around. But he was sitting at the bar by himself. And I literally googled him to show David a photo. And he was wearing the identical sweater and bracelets in the photo from the red carpet. I showed him on Google at the bar, and he's like, oh, my God, that is him. But yeah, this. This sushi restaurant we were at, I had, like, a crispy rice cake with a little bit of cream cheese and caviar on top with green onion. Oh, my God, it was amazing. It was so good. I'll have to see if I can find photos of this meal because it was literally life changing. I will say, though, I don't know what came over us. We were animals in Paris. We, since we met, we are, like, in bed at 10pm sometimes earlier. Like on Saturday night this weekend, I was asleep at 8:30pm okay. That's just the life I live. I'm very boring in Paris. We were out till one day, five in the morning. Who are we? I. I didn't even live that life in college. I didn't really live, like, a normal college life. But we were animals because, first of all, Parisians eat very late. So a lot of the times we'd be at dinner at, like, 10:30pm and then we finish at, like, 1am and they'd be like, all right, it's time to go out for a drink. And I was like, what do you mean? That was a drink? Oh, no. They want to go out to the speakeasies, to the cute little bars. Like, we went to a Four Seasons bar. It was beautiful. Best martini I've ever had. With blue cheese olives. Oh, my God. Yeah. Then we'd. We'd sleep, wake up at, like, 10am and do it all over again. But the amount of martinis I had ho. I. I'm taking a little break from drinking because I made up for it in Paris. David was drinking a lot of vodka on the rocks, and he kind of like, Newly discovered that there usually he'll do like tequila, but he was drinking vodka on the rocks and I was drinking martinis. I used to drink dirty martinis. Now I just drink martinis because I'm a big girl and if it's too dirty, it's too salty for me. So I'm growing up now that I'm in my 30s, you know, I can handle a real martini. And it was just really fun. We also went to a another restaurant called. Let me find the name. Oh, Cafe de Loam. Cafe de Loam was incredible, actually. Again, thanks to Deb and David and their friends. The female, her name's Vanille. She's actually an incredible French singer. You guys should look her up. Her music's amazing. Stevie loves listening to her because she's learning French at school and she loves the language. Actually, I think I want to start to learn French. Not like I am not busy enough, but I think the French language is so beautiful. And with Stevie learning it, I'm like, okay, I, I should probably learn it to help her and talk to her. But Vanille's aunt owns the restaurant and so they gave us literally the most beautiful view from the balcony of the restaurant. It's literally right in front of the Eiffel Tower. I can't even describe it to you. I'll put something the screen where you guys can see our view. The food was incredible. The wine was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. The food was just blew my mind. That was another one of my favorite restaurants. One of the other things we did that I was so happy I finally got to do because the last three times we went to Paris, I was like, I really want to go. And we didn't have the opportunity was we went to see Crazy Horse. We went to a Crazy Horse show. And listen, if you know me, you know my love for Beyonce. Fun fact. Beyonce and Jay Z. It's her favorite place in the world is Paris. And Beyonce took Jay Z there on his birthday and he proposed to her. And her music video partition is based off the Crazy Horse performance. And all of the girls in that music video are from the Crazy Horse Club in Paris because she was so obsessed with them. And the way that they dance, like they're just so fly. They're so sickening. And Paris isn't weird. Like when you're in Europe, bodies are just bodies. It's not like this crazy sexual thing. There were so many couples in there. It was literally a jam packed show. And I was watching these girls and all like, I didn't go there for David. I went there for me because these girls were so, so amazing. So, yeah, the night we went to Crazy Horse is one of my favorite nights because I just wanted to see the show for years. And it was so cool to watch the performance and how it tied into the partition music video where she, like, took some notes and. Because if you watch the music video, Jay Z's, like, sitting there watching Beyonce smoking a cigar, and she's, like, on the horseback with the purple background. Like, they do that dance at Crazy Horse, and they're just amazing. So that was one of my favorite things that we did as well. It's so important for us to take trips away from the kids because we don't do it very often unless I'm traveling for work. But that's not, like a vacation. That's work obligations to make sure, you know, my family's taken care of. But it's so nice to just connect him and I uninterrupted and, like, being able to focus on that time. We've been. We've been together for 12 years, which is crazy. And we still have so much enjoyment being around each other and having that quality time. It was really, really special. One of my other favorite things about Paris is you just walk everywhere. Like, the only time we didn't walk was when we were taking the metro, and we finally got a hang of the metro system. It's very complicated there because you have to train, hop a lot, and obviously, everything's in a different language. So we really got a hang of that. Walked everywhere. The food is so much cleaner there. And, like, I was working out. I went to an amazing Pilates class that Salton Stone hosted. They messaged me because they saw I was in Paris, and they're like, hey, do you want to come to a class? It was the most beautiful Pilates studio. And then I did go to the gym because my trainer wrote me a workout plan because she's like, we have not worked this hard for you to lose all of your muscle tone and get out of shape this. These eight days that you're gone. So I brought some equipment, and I did some workouts. But you walk everywhere. You're always on your feet. So if you ever go to Paris, bring lots of comfortable shoes. But the food is so much cleaner that when you're. I literally ate a chocolate croissant every morning. But it's just different. I don't know what it is. There's not a lot of pesticides. There's not a lot of parabens. In the wines. Like you're not going to get that like crazy wine hangover the next day, even if you drink a whole bottle. My dad always says that too. Like, my dad can't handle drinking wine in the US but he'll drink it overseas because it's just, it's just different. But like, even just a baguette with some cheese and turkey, one of my favorite things to eat in Paris, it's so good. Or the gelato. Oh my God, don't even get me started. It was really cool too, as a parent seeing other parents that live in Paris. And I actually had a really cool conversation with a mom that we met at dinner. I asked her, I was like, you know, you all live in flats, like, which are essentially apartments that are beautiful by the way, but like, they don't have a yard. It's basically all sidewalks and concrete everywhere. And there's not a lot of like playgrounds. There's like parks, like with grass and stuff. There's not a lot of playgrounds. And so I asked her, like, how is that raising a child? And she was like, my kids are so independent. She was saying that her 7 year old takes the metro every day to school by himself. I was like, what? We'd be on the metro and I swear on my life there was like a first grader sitting there with his scooter. He got off the metro and he goes and rides it off to school. It was so cool to see. So I saw a lot of parents on bikes with like two bike seats behind them. They'd be biking with their kids or their kids would be on their scooters on the sidewalk. So it is such a different life. It almost reminds me of like what it would be like to raise children in New York City. Because I'll see that a lot when I go to New York is I'll see moms walking around either just like with a baby carrier or their kids on a scooter or they're riding a bike. It's just such a unique experience. And it's so different from living here in sunny California where it's like you have a backyard, your kids play outside all day, or you can go to the beach or there's a park on every corner. So but it is cool because I was talking to the mom and she was like, you just adapt to your environment. Like you just make it work and your kids adapt and adjust. And that's just what kids do. They kind of just go with the flow. This show is sponsored by Better help. Better Help is incredible, you guys. Therapy changed my life. All right, we're going to end this episode with a little Q and A because you guys asked so many questions. And the first question you asked, which I was just talking to my producer about, is what my thoughts are on the new season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. I will say I'm only on. I just started episode seven. Listen, I'm a mother. I can't binge watch shows because I never watch anything while my kids are awake. And I'll be honest, when they go to bed, I either have to get some editing done or I'm so tired I fall asleep in bed with them when I'm scratching their backs. Guys, what in the drama is happening in this season? I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted, and I'm not even a part of it. I. I am so locked in, though. Like, I can't lie. And it's so interesting watching a reality show when you're, like, friends with the cast, because I know a lot of them and I love them. Like, they're such good girls and that you see so many online opinions and different that people have to say. But, like, knowing them personally, they're all very good people. They're very good moms. And it's wild to see the chaos unfold. Wild. And I'm, like, on edge because every episode I'm like, some crazy is happening. It's just a lot. But also, like, watching Whit and Jen being on Dancing with the Stars, like, kudos to them. I can't shake my ass if I tried. So Dancing with the Stars don't ever ask me to be on because they will never happen. I have no rhythm. So it's really cool just to watch them evolve and live their dreams, seeing how they started, especially because it's a very similar situation that I live right. Like, I work on social media and my husband's able to stay home. It's very, like, women empowerment, and it makes me so happy. And I love watching all of them thrive and have completely different business avenues from starting on social media to now having the show and now building these empires. I just. As a fellow content creator and woman and mom, it's. It's amazing to see, and I'm proud of all of them and I'm so happy for their success, but the drama's real, and I'm locked in. I am locked in. Any upcoming trips? Yes. We go to Destin Florida every single year with our best friends. So that is in June. I'm very excited. Once our kids are out of school, we've stayed the same cute little townhouse on the golf course every single year. Fun fact, Ziggy took his first steps on the beach in Destin when he was 18 months old. We were gonna have to start physical therapy when we came home if he didn't start walking on that trip. He was a very late walker, but he took his first steps on the beach. And it's just a very special place for us to just disconnect with our family and spend that week there. So that's our one summer vacation that we have planned. And that's it. That's my only upcoming travel, which honestly, so grateful for. I love being home. I love being a homebody. Were you in any past relationships before meeting David? Yep, from 15 years old to 18 years old, I had a high school boyfriend. That's it. How do you get your man to help out around the house? Busy ER nurse over here. I get it. Your schedule's crazy. At the end of the day, it's a partnership. And when you live in the same environment, it's both of your environments. If you're putting in that effort, he should be putting in that effort too. So I would say if he has a certain expectation for what you're doing, but he's not meeting that, then have a conversation. And if he's not doing anything to fix it, then you need to lessen your load and not do as many roles, because he's probably going to realize how much you do when you stop doing it. You know, how does communication work for you in friendships? Is it ever hard for you? I think communication in general is always very hard, but it's the right thing to do. I think it's never easy to have a conversation with anyone that's a hard topic. Or when you're confiding your feelings to someone about something that maybe they did to you or maybe you heard that they said about you or whatever your situation is, it's always very hard to take that step and approach that person because it's very vulnerable. It's very intimidating. I think either way, when you take that step, that shows your initiative and that you're doing the right thing to try to progress the relationship to a better place, no matter the way things end. I think communicating is very important for you to explain your feelings of how you feel about something and also hearing their thoughts. And I think with healthy communication, where you're saying how you feel, you're being honest, you're not raising your voice, both of you will learn something about the other person and hopefully bank it in your mind and know how to be better moving forward in that friendship. Sometimes it doesn't get better. And sometimes the communication is not heard. And that could be your sign that it's not the friendship for you, but at least you know going forward that it's not the friendship for you. And you can walk away with what I like to call clean hands, because you did everything in your power to bring that communication up rather than just ignoring it. And maybe closing that wall, because that's not necessarily fair for either one of you, but especially for that other person. If you're closing that wall and not communicating with them, they might not know why. And so for them, it's not fair. But if you communicate the reason you're feeling the way you're feeling and what you want to see moving forward, you at least know that you put in that effort to try to move forward on better terms. And you never know what can happen with a good, productive conversation, so might as well try, you know. Biggest tip for gaining and maintaining confidence. I always say fake it till you make it, because when you fake it, I swear it, like, changes the wiring of your brain where you really start to believe it. I think the same way about manifesting. Like, I actively believe in manifesting, and you just really have to speak it into existence. So speak your confidence into existence. I always say the same thing about being confident in the bedroom. It doesn't matter what you look like, how you feel about yourself. I promise you, the other person does not care if you are giving off confidence. If you are exuding competent energy, the other person's, you'd be like, damn, they're so confident. That's so hot. I promise you fake it till you make it, because you will start to believe it yourself. I miss your saucy Saturdays. Please bring them back. Okay, how about Cheers 2.0 rebrand next solo episode, we're going to make it saucy. Okay, fam, that concludes our little solo today. I hope you enjoyed the rebrand. Avery Woods celebrates a major rebrand of her podcast, now aptly titled "Cheers 2.0." She opens up solo this week to reflect on her personal and professional evolution since launching the show in 2023. This new chapter mirrors her current life as a working mom: embracing both chaos and moments of softness. Avery details the rebrand process, shares takeaways from a recent trip to Paris, discusses growth and mental health, and wraps up with an engaging Q&A from her audience.
[03:08 – 09:00]
"I started this podcast for no other reason aside from the fact that I can't keep my mouth shut and I have an opinion about everything... But I also feel like sometimes that type of honesty on social media is very refreshing because you don’t see it very often because of cancel culture." [03:25]
[09:00 – 16:15]
"People always talk about the change or watching people change... but that’s how it should be. You know, everyone grows and evolves and changes over time. You don’t ever want to stay stagnant." [09:45]
"I am an advocate for therapy. I go to therapy every single Thursday at 10am, I don’t miss it. It’s truly changed my outlook and – not to be dramatic – but really changed my life." [15:45]
[21:16 – 39:30]
"Vintage shopping in Paris is like another level of thrifting. The amount of cool vintage clothes that I got is so iconic... you can bargain with them." [27:18]
"It’s so important for us to take trips away from the kids, to just connect him and I uninterrupted... We’ve been together 12 years and still enjoy that quality time." [35:25]
"People always say Paris is dirty and smelly. I’m like — have you been to New York City?" [30:08]
[15:41 – 16:15, 29:44 – 30:08]
"I have been able to just put my phone down and live in the moment." [08:20]
[15:45 – 16:15, 40:49 – 42:28]
[43:00 – 50:01]
"At the end of the day, it’s a partnership... If he’s not doing anything to fix it, then you need to lessen your load. He’ll realize how much you do when you stop doing it." [45:00]
"With healthy communication, where you’re saying how you feel, you’re being honest, you’re not raising your voice, both of you will learn something about the other person... Sometimes it doesn’t get better, but at least you know you put in that effort." [46:00]
"I always say fake it til you make it, because when you fake it, I swear it... changes the wiring of your brain where you really start to believe it." [48:00]
"You don’t ever want to stay stagnant. Staying stagnant means you’re not growing in life. And I feel like a lot of you guys have grown up with me, which is really fun." [09:55]
"I am an advocate for therapy. I go to therapy every single Thursday at 10am, I don’t miss it. And it’s truly changed my outlook... really changed my life." [15:45]
"I feel like the softness of the intro is really a reflection of that and the fact that I’ve been able to really put my phone down this year and live in real life." [15:41]
