It was amazing. It was. I mean, everybody says, like, oh, wedding's the best day of your life. I was always like, it's a day. I. Andrew and I have always said, like, we weren't that jazzed on the idea of having this big wedding because, like, for a lot of people, it's the only day of your life where you are the center of attention. Everybody's looking at you like, it's the only day where it's all about you. Whereas, like, we both kind of get that at our respective job. So it's not like we had it built up in our heads. It's like, it has to be the best day of our lives. But it was amazing. Like, it really was. I really underestimated just how great it would be to have every single person that we care about in the world in one place, and they're all there at the same time, which will be probably the only time in our life that that's gonna happen. So that part was definitely amazing. And, yeah, we had the best weekend.

That's one of my dream destination places. I still haven't been beautiful. And when I saw you get married there, I was like, oh, my God.

Yeah. Also, I. I refuse. Like, even we're so lucky. Like, we have family that has a flat in Paris that we go to. Kids really want to go. Like, my son's been asking, like, I want to see the Eiffel Tower, Mommy. I'm not ready for the time change commitment either with them. Like, that's a lot for a six and a four year old to try to sleep on a flight, adjust to the time change. Like it's a lot.

Yeah. I will say though, have they been to Europe at all? No, I will say it's a different culture in terms of like, I always say this when like I, the way I was raised in England, kind of. I grew up going to Spain every summer. My parents have a place there. It's like, it's, it's very normal. Everybody brings the kids out at night. They bring them out. You know, people sit down to eat dinner at like 10, 11pm Kids are in there, kitties are running around midnight at night and then they just knock out in the stroller. They knock out on a chair somewhere and it's completely normal. And the parents will just like stay in the restaurant, they'll stay in the bar and then everybody takes a nap at 4pm until like 8, 7. It's a completely different sleep schedule and it's a completely different culture. And so I always say like, Europe's really, really kid friendly because it's a way different culture in terms of like you see so many mommies breastfeeding in the restaurant. Like, it's just, it's so nice like that for kids. And I always say like, they don't. Even if you, you don't have to change your sleep schedule the same because literally they'll be out until in the middle. Yeah. And like it's normal and they don't have to. Like, even Andrew and I, when we travel to Europe, most of the time we don't even bother trying to adjust that much because we kind of have to adjust when you go back. So it's like I don't care if I sleep till noon and then I'm up till like two in the morning. Like.

Because I feel like they're at the age where I, I want to be able to give them more experiences and show them places outside of America because I'm like, this isn't all you have to look forward to. Trust me, there's a lot.

I'm from Manchester. Like Manchester.

Yeah. Yeah. If I could, I would go back to England tomorrow. It's like, it's just, it's, if you, if you've ever seen the movie the Holiday, like. Yeah, that is where I was raised. Like that type of environment, like little English cottages and like everybody gets eggs from the Neighbor. Every morning, like my mum literally walks across the street and just like takes eggs that the neighbor leaves out for everybody. And we get the milk delivered by the milkman at the end of the road every morning and he just brings it from his farm around the street. And everybody is just like, it's such a community out there and you know, it's just like so quiet and it was great. I loved it. I mean, I really couldn't have asked for a better childhood. Like my parents were amazing. I had a stay at home mom. She did everything. Yeah.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I mean, when I was really little, I wanted to make clothes.

Like I used to change my outfit 100 times a day.

So literally yesterday we had a lesson on hanging our dresses back up on the hanger. But I love it cuz she's like experimenting and like being creative and finding her own style. So I'm trying not to hinder that. But that reminds me a lot of my daughter.

That was literally me change a million times a day, drawing dresses in my little coloring books and all that. Like, that was what I loved. And then I feel like when I got to like 12, the Victoria's Secret fashion show was like everything, everybody. And all of a sudden it was like, I want to do that. So imagine how insufferable I became when I got approached to be a model when I was like 15.

And yeah. So then after I started modeling, obviously I wanted to be Candice Wanna pole. Never didn't really get that far, but yeah. And then.

And is that when you, when did you start social media?

B (7:55)

I started. I mean I always had an Instagram, you know, like, yeah, everybody does. But I started posting videos in 2021.

My first viral video. Yeah. Was in February 2021. And then modeling was like dead because of COVID I had basically been unemployed for a year. It was not an essential job. It wasn't. You know, I basically sat around at home for a year just like running out of money. And then as things started to open up again, clients started asking, hey, does anybody have a tick tock? Maybe we're going to try running videos on them. Maybe we'll try and do that. And I had all this free time and then when I had my first private video was face tuning Andrew' forehead bigger until he noticed it's actually a really funny video.

I was expecting, like, you like, making a joke from scrap?

B (8:43)

No, because in the beginning, like, I didn't know that that's what my content was going to be.

Then my second follow video was also something really dumb. And then Andrew at the time was like, you should try posting every single day. You should try getting Tik Tok followers because you're clearly funny at least and see if you can, like, drum up some modeling work that way. And I was like, yeah, you're right. I decided to stop posting every single day. I toyed around with, like, tons of different types of posting and like, you know, dancing, which I was never gonna be doing that.

Oh, yeah, well, we're doing a dance after this. It's very simple because I also don't dance. I was like, scott, we need to find a funny Tick Tock to do. And it's literally like, up, down, to the side. I said, I can do that.

B (9:26)

Oh, yeah. Perfect. Yeah, yeah. But I. Oh, my.

Like the Charlie d' Amelios at the time, that's how I felt when I download Tick Tock. I said, I can't shake my ass out the.

I cannot shake ass.

And then my first sewing video I posted, I started with like, thrift flips, because I was already doing that for myself. I didn't have any money, and so I would go to the thrift store and find something. And I taught myself to sew because I needed a bikini for a modeling casting. And even back then I was like, I'm not paying 100 for a freaking bikini. Like, that's true. I. I decided in my. We had little warped mind that it was going to be better if I bought a sewing machine on Amazon that was like 30 bucks. And I taught myself how to make bikinis because in my brain I was like, oh, then I can make 100 bikinis if I want. Which, spoiler alert, bikinis are actually insanely hard to make. And to this day, I can't make, like, a decent bikini.

Yeah. I was going to say there's actually a lot of detail.

B (10:14)

Really hard. Yeah. So I was already doing that for myself. And then I had a thrift flip go viral. And then I started leaning into, like, the fashion side of things. And then when I really started doing that, I sewed that little lily rose jab at the Met Gala Chanel dress.

I remember that.

B (10:31)

Yeah, that was a big one. And then, yeah, then I That's when I really feel like I found my niche, which took me probably like three or four months. And then, wow, I had a million within like five months, six months.

I thought that you. I was thinking in my mind, like, oh, she must have grown up sewing or, like, knew how to do it. So this is like a. Just in the last few years thing.

B (10:50)

Yeah, I taught myself. Yeah. Probably when I was like 22. So, yeah. Seven, six. Seven years ago.

A (10:56)

Which is hard to learn stuff like that as an adult.

B (10:58)

Yeah. As an adult, I always tell everyone, like, I have this. I. I see things and I just assume that I can do it and I will just buy the equipment. And like, I. I swear, people tell me all the time, like, you definitely have a ADHD girl, because, like, I will see a hobby and I'm like, I'm gonna do that. Like, all of a sudden, for me right now, it's. It's making Christmas stockings cross stitch and like these people with these extremely elaborate stockings with, like reindeers on them and stuff. And I'm like, oh, I'm going to start cross stitching and then I'll buy all of the stuff and do it one time and then never pick it up again in my life.

That's true. Like, make all your future kids stockings.

Yeah, that's what I'm getting. Yes. In July, I'm getting cross stitch Christmas stockings.

I was going to say you're like, really ahead of the game.

You have half a year to get that done for Christmas.

No, but it does. It. It does. It takes them a year to do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That I don't see. I don't have the patience. That's why I haven't.

And like, this week I decided I wanted this crazy canopy bed that I had seen on Pinterest a million times. And I was like, I'm gonna figure out how to do this. And I did.

Have you all. Was your mom into fashion?

B (12:17)

Yeah, my mom. My mom grew. I grew up. My mom made all my, like, Halloween costumes, dance recital costumes. Like, she always did that stuff. She always love making things. She's not as into it as me because she is handicapped in one of her hands so she can't like do fine motor skills. But yeah, my mom, I was always raised doing it. My mom loves to bake. Like my mom loves all the same things I do.

So I feel like it was pretty. She wasn't as into it as I am, but she, it was definitely something that I was like raised around. And she, she, she loves like quilting. She, she'll make like quilts for all beds and stuff and all of our like place mats.

But I had been. I dated an actor for like two and a half years before I dated Andrew. And after that I was like so scarred. And I had told everyone, like, I just want normal Dr. Was this like a big person?

And still to this day, like, who knows if we would even ended up together if he had been playing shows. Because he travels like four days a week every week and he's never at home and we would have never even had the time to get to know each other and spend that amount of time together for me to become so obsessed with him that I then no longer cared that he was a dj.

But yeah, so it was definitely a blessing that he was home enough to. For me to like really get the chance to get to know him without having to worry about the DJ side of things. But yeah, I can't lie. Even. Even when he did start playing shows and things did start opening back up, it was definitely like tough for me in the beginning.

I was like constantly, constantly being gone, girls everywhere, traveling. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

How was your first date?

Great. We went to Barique in Venice.

It was like. We went there because, again, covered. Nothing was open. Our options were, like, very minimal. And then bars were not allowed to be open, so we went to Saddle Ranch because that was allowed to be open because it had food.

Yeah.

And a mechanical bowl. And it was open until midnight, where everything else closed at, like, 10. So we went there. We had to order a food. Item. Item. For every drink we ordered. So he ordered, like, a. Like, literally. I'm not kidding. 20 food items that we didn't. We. They ended up just, like, not even bothering bringing it because we were like, we're not gonna eat them. We just want to drink.

No, it wasn't running.

But, yeah. Our first date was, like, six hours long. And so.

I wouldn't say. I. I knew that I, like, really liked him. I. I didn't know that he was going to be my husband because, again, like, the DJ thing was.

Was tough. And just, like, not knowing if he was in the right place. Like, I was 24. He was 26. It's not like we were, like, trying to, sure, get married and be together forever, but I. We definitely knew. We were, like, obsessed with each other.

Yeah. And you guys have been together, what, five years?

B (20:28)

Yeah.

It's been a while.

And you're in a home that you're kind of, like, redoing right now, right?

B (20:35)

Not necessarily. Like, we've had our house, like, three years. We just. Now that I don't have to worry about the wedding because I'm somebody, like, I love to just change up things all the time. And I'll. If I have a room that looks the same too long, I'll just, like, get bored of it.

I get the same way. I think it's, like, an itch I have where if something's the same, I'm like, I have to redo this entire thing.

B (20:51)

Exactly. And so it's just, like, all the little things have been niggling at me for the last, like, two years that I. I put off because I was, like, doing the wedding stuff.

Yeah.

I now have, like, time to do, so I'm like, great. New guest room.

Yeah. When you were in the midst of planning your wedding, which I know you had a wedding planner.

B (21:06)

Yeah.

What was your initial vision? Like, what were the Staple things that you're like, I know I need this at my wedding.

B (21:13)

Andrew wanted to be by the ocean. Like, ocean front. That's the only thing he wanted. We originally wanted to do Canada, where he's from, but then we just like, couldn't find a venue that was going to work for. He wanted late night. No, because a lot of wedding venues will have like, hey, the paint's really old, so you can't go above a certain amount of decibels. Hey, the floors are really old, so, like, you can't wear stilettos on the floor. Like all those things. And we say, like, Andrew was way more of a diva about the venue than I was.

Really?

B (21:42)

Yeah. Because he wanted, like, no rules. No. Like, all he cared about was it being like a huge rave.

A (21:47)

Yeah.

B (21:48)

So that was kind of hard to find. And then we decided on Europe when we started looking at the difference in price between Europe and America.

Really?

Oh, yeah. Maybe I should consider the hot tea.

I do, because I'm playing my vowel renewal for next. Well, let me tell you, wedding, because I gotta hear all this.

B (22:05)

I love seeing how much people. I mean, don't get me wrong, our wedding was not cheap. But like, I keep seeing videos that were like, this was a million dollar wedding. This was in the millions. All winning venue was €3,750.

A (22:17)

You're fucking lying.

B (22:20)

€3,750. It might have gone up since. Because that was two years ago when we booked it.

A (22:24)

I'm looking at places in Malibu right now that are like, they're astronomical, but they're like, no loud. You have to be out by 10. No live band. All these restrictions. And I'm like, I'm sorry, why am I paying an arm and a leg when we have to be wrapped at 10pm? Yeah, we can't have the music that we want. Oh, and then you have to eat like certain food that they serve at the. I'm like, yeah, I want good food. I don't want like the classic.

This is exactly how we ended up getting American. Greece. Because we also. I mean, I know that it's like quite selfish to do destination because then everybody has to travel. But for us, my family's in the uk, his family's in Canada. Everybody was traveling anyway.

A (23:03)

Okay, that makes sense.

B (23:05)

We didn't really. There was not there. There wasn't even a place that we could have said, hey, we're doing it at home. That would have been home for everyone else. Like, to be honest, in the grand scheme of things, we only had like, 10 people from LA at the wedding, and everyone else was coming from different places. So that's the only downside. But, I mean, we loved Santorini. We loved Greece. We loved. I mean, it was just so. That's just so much more relaxed on, like, the wedding side of things. And again, like. Like you said, where you get. Bring in your catering, where you bring in the bar, everything you can, it's. It was a lot easier to personalize out there, which is why we ended up doing that.

Yeah. How was it? Because, I mean, yes, you had a planner, but do you think it was difficult planning a wedding that was in a different country or that didn't really affect it?

B (23:48)

I think that our planners were really amazing and hid a lot from us that was going on behind the scenes. They did. Hi. They did end up hiring somebody local to do kind of like the last six months because they were struggling with, like, the language barrier and a lot of places because, like, those little islands in Greece, like, I don't even read their emails. Like, you just go and hey. And they just like, yeah. Knock on the door. And that's how they communicate with each other. So I definitely think that Josiah did a really good job of, like, hiding from us that they were. People were slow to respond and stuff. But, I mean, obviously it ended up beautiful and it all worked out in the end.

But I definitely think it's. There was a few, like, language communication problems. But, I mean, that's why you get a good planet. Right. So for sure find somebody that lives there, if necessary, to go for them. And, yeah, they really did handle it. But, I mean, I would do it again 100 times over.

Okay, good to know. I want to talk about the bridesmaids dresses, because they're just. My jaw was on the floor. That was the craziest thing I've ever seen. Talk me through why you chose to do that. By the way, she made the most insane bridesmaids dresses. If you guys did not see, you need to go look for her bridesmaids at her wedding.

Yeah.

And they're gorgeous. And also the fact you've only been sewing for six or seven years and you whipped those up insane. You're telling me. I don't believe that you can't sew a bikini after seeing those.

B (25:09)

I can't. I swear. Now I'm gonna have to make a TikTok prove that I can't make a bikini that good. Yeah, no, I mean, I mostly made them for selfish reasons, which is that I couldn't find bridesmaid dresses that I like.

And the only ones that I could find were like Miss Sohi Couture gowns that cost 10 times more than even my wedding dress.

Yeah.

Kind of off the table. Yeah. So it was literally just like, hey, I really, I really wanted this really specific aesthetic which are really, it's really popular in the Middle East. I have so many items I, I. To this day, I really want to share my Pinterest board of like all the places that I drew inspiration. But they were. There were so many designers in the Middle east and in the Far east that make these like, really beautiful couture, like beaded corseted gowns that are just like not that popular in the States. Like, the way they approach weddings in the Middle east and the Far east is so different than how they approach it here. And weddings here are much more casual. And so it would, it was just like every time I would find a bridesmaid dress that I wanted, it would be like on the other side of the world. And they didn't ship and they didn't speak English and all that. And so was like, right, great. I guess I'm gonna have to make them.

How long did it take you?

B (26:13)

I started them in January. It took me. I mean, each dress took me between like 20 and 30 hours. But obviously I didn't do it all at once. Like, it was basically whenever I had a free evening, a free Saturday when Andrew was gone, I kind of interspersed it between all my other traveling and all my other stuff and all my other commitments that I had.

So it was just insane how they were different but also like so cohesive. Like you literally made your own mini collection. It was so cool and like a special thing to be able to show your kids or like, remember that like, I made those dresses.

Oh, we. I will not be showing the kids because my bridesmaids went swimming in their dresses at like 7 in the morning.

Oh, they said we're having fun.

They said we're getting in the pool.

Yeah. So it's like TBD on the dry in the dry cleaners. If they can salvage them.

Yes, yes. That's what I was saying. Cuz I was like, oh, like, I'm such a daddy's girl. I love my dad.

But oh my God, when my kids were born, he's like, love you, but like, you're. You're brushed under the rug. Like, those kids are his world.

Oh, he's excited. He wants to be a granddaddy so bad. He already. Andrew and I, like, went to Disney the other week for the first. Like, Andrew's never been. I've been like once in my life. Like, we are. Yeah. And we were like, obviously, as you do, complaining about how much everything is at Disney. Like the pretzels, everything. And my dad's like, oh, my God. My God. I hated going on. I said, so are you gonna like, not go with your grandkids? I didn't say that. He's like, so excited.

That's really cute. Where did you guys honeymoon?

B (28:16)

We went to the Amalfi coast. We did a few nights in Sicily and we went to the Amalfi coast. We got a little boat. I'm like, we got the smallest, cheapest, quote unquote yacht that we could find that just had two bedrooms and we just put the other one with luggage.

It was so it would actually be perfect for you and like the kids. It was so cute. We had a little crew of three people and they just like took us wherever we wanted. We woke up every morning in like a new place.

Wait, that's sick. So the whole honeymoon, you're sleeping on that boat?

B (28:46)

Yeah. Yeah.

It was amazing. And it was not too expensive. In the end, it ended up. It ended up being the same price as like a bougie five star hotel.

Sure. But I mean, like, what an experience.

And also being able to go to different places but not feeling like you're.

Traveling and you don't have to pack the lugg luggage and get everyone to the airport, drop the bags, wait for them to come out the other end, like all that stuff. Like, Andrew travels so much for work and I always tell him any day on vacation that I'm in an airport is not a vacation day for me.

And he's somebody that can't sit still. He wants to see new places all the time. So that was like the best case Scenario for us where I got to rot and just, like, not do anything, but he still got to see a million places.

Good. And you. Did you have someone post wedding content for you while you were traveling or did you do that?

B (29:38)

No. So uploaded everything. We did have a content creator that did the wedding day and the. And the day before. Her name was Yana. She was amazing. So she shot everything. She edited up a bunch of TikToks for me to just, like, upload, but mostly of just, like, the wedding day and the rehearsal dinner. And yeah, other than that, it was only, like, the. On my honeymoon and everything. I was like, uploading everything and.

Yeah. And the. The whole. Because we launched on Vogue with, like.

When. When you got that call, were you like.

It was so bizarre and surreal because I have heard so many tall tales of how people got their weddings into Vogue and it costs so much money and you have to do this and, like, yes. These hoops that you supposedly have to jump through. We. I literally, as my manager, because I don't have a publicist, I literally just asked my manager. I'm like, hey, can you reach out to them? Because we, like, had an email for. Because I've been. I've done something with Vogue before when I, like, cut up an outfit to edit the product show years ago. So we still have the email. Like, hey, they're gonna say no, because, you know, I'm not that big in the grand scheme of things. I'm not like, the wedding's not millions of dollars. We're like, hey, let's just send an email. The worst they're gonna say is no. But, like, why don't we just ask if they would be down to cover it? And I was just assuming it would be like, a quick no. They literally got back same day being, like, asked us a few details about my dress and about the venue and everything, which we obviously sent back, and they literally came back within 24 hours. And they're like, we would love to. We want. Want four tick tocks. Like, Vogue exclusive. I was just like, oh, okay, perfect. That was easy.

It's interesting because I've heard the same with, like, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Forbes. Like, you hear all these things of, like, oh, they paid to be in it. And then you talk to people behind the scenes. You're like, now, it's so weird how in this industry you hear, yeah, yeah.

And I especially think for Vogue, it was. They want something new to write about. Right. And so for me, it was like the bridesmaid dresses being DIYs was something interesting that they could write about us doing, you know, having Natasha Bedingfield. Another thing that we. Again, which. Which was sick.

Andrew and I, you know, we did. We knew we wanted somebody fun to perform because Andrew, he told everyone, I want the night off. I'm not DJing. Which obviously he DJed the entire thing. Yeah. Oh. The entire after party. We flew somebody in from Australia. He was amazing. Barely touched the decks because. But yeah, we knew we wanted somebody to perform. We really wanted nostalgia. We wanted like hits that everybody would know, but we knew that we. We couldn't afford like anything. Like, I, I mean, you don't really get bigger than Natasha Bedingfield for what we wanted. Like, she was absolutely perfect. But like I said, had originally wanted S club. I love S club. Andrew decided that nobody would. Not enough people would know it. And I said, excuse me, I'm not going to lie.

Well, you're just proving his point. But yeah, you know what?

Oh, I love it. That's so fun. Yeah, I've, I've heard like, I've had friends that like family friends, not even in the industry that. Because there's so many different like business endeavors in LA when you are here, like it's crazy how much money there is. But anyways, a friend of mine went to a part, a 50th birthday party for someone that worked in the marijuana industry and was like filthy fucking rich and he paid. Was it half a million or a million for like a 2 or a 15 minute performance from Snoop Dogg? Oh yeah, because he works in weed and so I loved it and it was a surprise and like all the drinks were named after his songs and stuff. But I was like that much money for that short of a weekend.

B (34:47)

Oh, private. Like Andrew's private rate for birthdays, weddings, that is double his regular.

A (34:54)

That's honestly iconic though, to be able to walk in, walk out and be like Cha Ching.

B (34:58)

Exactly. Yeah. I love when he plays weddings. I'm like, great. Normally I get to go too. We're actually going to one in a couple weeks in south of France.

A (35:05)

I'm like, oh, I am. I've never been to south of France, but it's on my bucket list because one of my friends actually just moved there and the photos that she has shown me is out of this world.

Oh yeah, girl, just start saving now. It's expensive. Oh my God. Yeah.

I mean I got kids tuition to pay now. Like that's what people do here in la. They pay for their kids to go to preschool. I said, what is this, usc?

You'll figure it out. Honestly, like I, I feel like this whole week I've done interviews, giving advice on parenting. It's actually really funny, but I've said this multiple times. In my previous episode. Episodes. When you have kids because you live such a crazy life, just integrate your kids into your already existing life and not the other way around.

Like they'll be accustomed to traveling.

They'll be used to the chaos and it's gonna be great. Like what cool kids you guys are gonna have.

I know I. Andrew and I always say like we are gonna have to do some work to make sure that they don't end up the popular kid because like their dad's in love luxury. Like I can see objectively how that kid would be like the coolest kid in school. And I always say if you were a popular kid in school, like that's a kiss of Andrew. And I didn't have like four friends between us.

Yeah. Well I also think they're going to be the best dressed because of you.

B (36:46)

And then you watch, I'm gonna end up with a tomboy that wants to play soccer and wearing baggy shorts and.

A (36:52)

But they can make it cute. Like you'll teach them style. They can have their own, their own personal. You're like genuinely concerned no matter what.

B (36:59)

I just really do pray I end up with just one little girly girl because I justify so much stupid stuff I buy as Dude, I need to.

Cuz I was just posting the other day I was buying school clothes for the kids and I never share stuff like that publicly cuz I'm going to have someone complain about whatever I'm spending money on. But I ordered Stevie the cutest Ralph Lauren knit set for school. It's like this pleated navy.

So cute. No, I'm like, I always say like I'm. Because in England every kid, no matter what's. Whether you go to expensive school free like free state school, everybody wears a uniform.

So like the concept of getting dressed every day to go to school was like so crazy to me. And seeing like the hills and seeing them like wearing like what we would call like weekend clothes to school was like so crazy to me.

You're like they're wearing jeans. What the.

Yeah. And so now I like dread I because I, I just think about how much press on just like I mean in England we called it Mufty day which is like once a year where you could come in in your like regular clothes and it was a free for all. Oh my. If you didn't have the most expensive Abercrombie sweatshirt. You are cast aside. You know, And I can't even imagine doing that every single day. And so I'm really hoping for a uniform because Andrew had a uniform as well in Canada. Same thing. Like he also had to wear a uniform. So I'm just, just like I, we're, we're hoping for one of those. Can you imagine me having to get myself dressed every morning when I was like eight years?

A (38:36)

Well, also you getting yourself dressed every morning even now and then adding a kid on top of that, not in a uniform. Your morning routine would take four hours.

B (38:45)

Stevie, if she changes her outfits a lot, imagine when she started going to school and she. I don't like it.

A (38:50)

Oh, I know, I know, I know. That's why I'm trying to take advantage now because I just have the ability to buy whatever. And so anything she puts picks looks cute.

B (38:59)

Yeah.

A (38:59)

But I know there's going to be a time where she comes home, she's like, mommy, this girl's wearing this. And I know my ham going to be like that's so no hard pass like Ziggy's so into like the huge chunky Nike shoes.

B (39:13)

Uhhuh.

And I'm like, I love you so much. But like on his tiny little. It's just like, are so big in his like feet step like footsteps walking around are so loud. I'm like, do those even fit you? But it's cuz he sees kids at school, he's like, Nikes are cool. He came on one day goes, mom, Nikes are really cool. Can I get a pair? I said, how the do you know what Nikes are? They like pick up on that stuff at school.

B (39:34)

Oh yeah, of course. Yeah.

A (39:35)

So interesting. I asked you before but you said, mary, life doesn't feel any different.

B (39:41)

No, I wouldn't say. I mean Andrew and I have lived in our house three years. We've been together five. Like I don't really. I feel like we were already married, you know?

A (39:51)

Yeah. Yeah. At what age did you move to the States?

B (39:54)

States? I, I started modeling when I was 16 and I got my first visa when I was 16, like pretty much right out the gate. And so I actually started working in the US before I even graduated high school.

A (40:06)

Oh, wow.

B (40:07)

Yeah. So basically the day I graduated high school was the day that I moved here. It was kind of more like with modeling, it's really common to go somewhere for two months, work on your book, maybe do a few jobs and then go somewhere Else. So I was kind of bopping around and I went to Tokyo, I went to Sydney, I went to Paris and to Milan and all those things. But like, my home base has been New York since I was 18. And then I moved to LA when I was 22.

A (40:31)

Okay, did you, when you were traveling like that, were your parents with you?

B (40:35)

Nope. When I was in high school, yes. My mom would come with me. And then I came for the summer when I was 17 and my mom just came. I was in like a shaper owned apartment. And so my mom came to like drop me off, just get me set up. And then she came back and I spent like eight weeks in New York. But that chaperone was a freaking skin. I didn't see that lady once.

A (40:55)

Really?

B (40:56)

She said miracle.

A (40:57)

She said, roam free. You're like, thank God, I'm trying to party.

B (40:59)

Anyway, I mean, but at 17, like, yeah, you're a grown up. Like, you can take care of yourself, you know?

A (41:05)

But yeah, I did not see that chaperone lady one time. Wow.

A (41:08)

Do you think you would let your kids model?

B (41:11)

Yes, but I would want them to be at least, at least, at least the same age I was, if not older. I mean, I think the modeling industry has come a long way, even in the last 10 years.

A (41:21)

Yeah.

B (41:21)

But I was one of my first, like, test shoots. I. I had been maybe modeling a year. I was in Paris. My mom was with me. My mom had come to, with me to Paris. She'd gone with me to the shoot, she dropped me off, she got me set up, like, hey, I'm gonna go get a coffee. I'll be back in 30. Like, anybody want anything? I'm just gonna, like, run to this pharmacy, get a coffee. I'll be back. Great. And it's just me and this man in his apartment. And basically the moment I, my mom left and she felt comfortable enough to leave me because we'd done so many of these shoots at this point. And I was also with the best agency in Paris. I was with Ford Models. You know, you go there with a sense of like, security that, you know, you're. You were sent there by adults that have worked with these photographers so many times. And like, obviously it's safe. And then basically within 10 minutes of my mom leaving, he's like, hands me this. When I say it was not even a tiny bit. Okay. It was a completely sheer dress. And I put it on and he's like, I can see your underwear and you need to take it off. And I. So I like, Took my bra off. And he's like, okay, and your panties too. And I was like, I don't feel comfortable doing that. And he looks me dead in the face. I'm 17 years old. I look like I was about 12. Looks me down in the face. And he goes, you know, I've shot a lot of famous models. I've shot Irene a shake. He pulls it up. I've shot all these girls. You know what? They all had balls. You know what? You're. You're never going to make it in this industry unless you have balls. Take the panties off. And I was like, you're a minor. Minor.

A (42:43)

That already told him, I'm uncomfortable with that. Which. Good for you at 17 for saying that.

B (42:49)

Yeah. And then I, My mom comes back, obviously he like, I kept him on, my mom came back, it's all fine. He doesn't say anything. I didn't say anything. And then obviously told my mom when we left and she's like, okay, I'm going to call the agent. Say like, you have to tell them, them that he said this to you. Like you. He's obviously preying on young girls. Like, you can't. He can't do that. And we told my agency and they said, yeah, he has a point.

A (43:10)

He has a point. I'm sorry, in what re. In what world do you need to have your entire coochie out at 17? Like, listen, well, the, and, and being alone, away from your mom is the second that he says that.

B (43:25)

Yeah, yeah, that's. Those are the kind of stories that I, I would be very like, careful to let my kid model.

A (43:32)

Totally.

B (43:33)

But I would do it. I mean, it gave me the best 20s ever. And I'm also so grateful that I saw the world. I made all, all my bridesmaids I met modeling. They're my best friends to this day. I had just like the most incredible once in a lifetime experiences. And I also never ended up with like, I mean, cautionary tale. Not everybody ends up like me. But also don't have any student debt. Cause I didn't go to college. I was working and instead of spending. So yeah, I think, I think it was definitely a really amazing thing to do and I'm so glad I did it. But I would. And I would let my kids do it, but I would definitely want them to be 18.

And I would be a momager. I'm there.

You're there every single day. Yeah. I feel like no matter what your kids end up doing because of both of your guys jobs and creativity and world experience. They're just gonna do something cool. Cool and creative.

Yeah. I'm sure they'll end up creative. I can't imagine will raise an accountant.

Yeah. I was gonna say almost just said like none of your kids are going into finance.

B (44:30)

Yeah. You know, I mean Andrew did politics in university. I could see that. Yeah, yeah.

Oh he is such a politician.

Wait, he was studying politics but he's a dj. I know. This is your.

Imagine how that conversation went. Mom and dad, I just graduated college and you spent all that money and I'm gonna go off to LA and be a DJ.

Oh he did. They are. I don't think you were there but he was showing someone a photo yesterday when I met my husband he cuz he's 65, he was like 250 pounds.

He was huge. Like we would have to custom get. We would have to get his button downs all custom made because his neck.

Was so wide. Yeah. Wild. But then he was like. He started becoming really miserable in the gym. Like he was working out multiple days a week. He would have to. He doesn't like food. He's not like a foodie. Like he doesn't really enjoy eating.

I thank you for understanding because I literally am like I'm. All I'm thinking about is when I I'M eating next. Like I love food and I look forward to a good restaurant. He's just not like that. So he would have to force himself to to eat around 8, 000 calories a day to maintain the weight.

Cuz he's naturally very thin and he was like, why am I doing this? Like this is so miserable.

I love packing my kids lunches and one time they asked me if they could eat lunch at school because all of the kids at school were buying their lunches and I said sure, okay, go ahead. Like you can always try something once. And immediately they came home that day and said said actually can you keep packing our lunches? And if you know my kids at all then you know they are probably eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But not just any peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it has to have Smucker's jam inside of it. I. I think that I. When I'm shopping, I only. I don't think about, like, what's interesting was not. I just buy things that I like. I love color. I love interesting things. I feel like it originally started, like, way back in, you know, when I first started doing videos and doing TikTok. It was like I was looking for, like, cool, unique pieces that would get views and go viral and stuff. And now I don't really do that so much anymore just because I feel like it got stale and people got used to seeing that. That. But I do feel like it influenced my sense of style and it made me much more adventurous and much more excited to try new things. And I definitely feel like it's made my style develop into just like, I'll pick something that I think is unique, that I think is interesting, that calls to me, and then I'll just, like, base my outfit around. Around that, I guess.

Yeah, you always have fun. And I feel like nowadays especially everyone's in so into neutrals, which I get. Like, there are amazing neutral moments. Don't get Me wrong. And same with like house design. Like, people color shocked how much color I'm putting.

Just you wait till my next house. Because Andrew and I, our house right now, it's very mid century. It's like from the 50s. It looks like it's from the 50s, but with like an 80s Renault job. And so I don't feel like it makes sense to decorate it the way I want to decorate it. Like we have it decorated, in my opinion, very neutral, very like California modern.

Yeah. But in my heart, in my soul, I was want a like crazy colorful granny cottage.

Yeah. With like molding everywhere, wallpaper in every room. Like that is what I love. And like, same with my closet. Like, I feel like in winter I literally might as well not post for 6 months because I suck at outfits in the winter because I hate black. I hate like winter clothes. Like, I love bright colors, I love patents, I love prints. Like that, that is me. And that's why I feel I thrive in the summertime. But our next house, oh, girl, it's gonna look like somebody threw up in there with all the color.

Oh, yeah. Like every single one of my rooms is so different. But I wanted that. I was like, I want a different stone and tile in every single bathroom.

To make it look like a different house in every bathroom. I want color, I want shape, I want like texture. Like, I have a lot of stone in the house too. People like you have so much color because neutrals are so trendy. But I love, love how your personality really shines through your clothes because you have that like, very bubbly, eclectic, fun personality.

But you never shy away from color. Even in the winter though. Like you always have fun with.

Yeah, well, I'm already trying to get ahead of it and so I've been stocking up now whenever. Yeah, I love how women dress in the South. Like, I just went to my friend Merit is from Wilmington. I just went there and her friend has a boutique and I loaded up on all of the winter stuff because they, they wear so much more color in the, the South.

No, no, it's like I got this little green. It's like olive green. Like print two piece with like feathers on it. But it's like you wear it with like a brown boot and a brown coat. And it's fun. But it's, you know, like fall, winter they had like all these really cute like, greens and Browns, like, little matching sets of, like, sweater and a skirt and stuff. And. Yeah, I just. I love. I love the fun. I love the patterns. I love the colors. And I feel like the women in the south, they really do that. They do it.

I would have worn brown tights or no tights. I would have, but it was in Toronto, and it was winter, and so it was, like, negative 20. Obviously, I need tights. And then, like, the shoes were. Why did I wear white shoes? I don't know. Because I wanted to be comfortable, and my only, like, black shoes were stilettos, and I knew I can't wear. If I had known I was getting engaged, I mean, I sort of knew I was getting engaged, but I didn't know specifically what day I would have thought about it when I packed. And I would have styled that dress a lot differently.
