10th I'm John Ham and I approve this message. Hey, it's Avery. Welcome to Cheers. Hello everyone. I am in my butter spring summer yellow athlete. No, not even athletic athleisure attire, if you will. Actually, it's sweatpants. Let's be honest, Avery, this is. You're wearing sweatpants right now. We just got back from our summer vacation. We go to Destin, Florida every year with our best friends and we have the best time. It's so funny because as life has gone on, we've gone on all these luxurious trips and gone out of the country and checked all these things off our bucket list. But every year we look forward to the same trip and it never gets old. It's just. Just such a magical place. We heard about Destin from our best friends. So our best friends Ashley and Jesse, I'm sure you've heard us talk about them a million times. I've known them since. I've known Jesse since actually before high school. And then Ashley and I met in high school and they ended up obviously getting married and then we planned our babies together. So Jesse was a police officer. Now he's in pilot school and we're so proud of him. Ashley is an adult ICU nurse. I obviously was a picku nurse. So we worked in the same hospital. Just she worked adults. I worked kids. And then David was a police officer and sergeant for the same city that Jesse worked in. When it was time to grow our families, we decided to do it together. And it was just so special because their oldest daughter Callie was born and then Ziggy came exactly 20 days later. And then they got pregnant with their son, Crew, and he was born, and then Stevie was born exactly 20 days later. So we had both sets of our kids exactly 20 days apart, two and a half years apart, and we swapped genders each time. So it's just been so special to watch the kids grow up. Ziggy and Cali are seven, and Stevie and Crew are five, which is crazy. I don't know where the time has gone, but we essentially call them cousins. Like, we, the kids, think Cali and Crew are their cousins, and they talk on FaceTime every day. And they've just grown up together and had. We've had so many special memories with them. And back about six years ago, Jesse was in the Navy before becoming a police officer. And when he was stationed in Pensacola, he would always vacation in a place called Destin, Florida. And he would talk about it all the time, about how much he loved it. And we weren't really familiar with Florida. We had never really been there before. And so he was suggesting vacation spots for our families to go. And he's like, you guys have got to go to Destin. You would love it. And we're like, I don't know. Like, we don't really know anything about Florida. It's kind of a long flight. It's pretty expensive airfare to get out there for the whole family. It's funny, because the first time we ever went to Dustin, Ziggy was 16 months old, and he hadn't taken his first steps yet. And the pediatrician was like, if he isn't walking when you guys get back from your trip, he'll probably have to start physical therapy. He was just, like, the happiest, chillest, fattest baby. He just didn't want to get up. He was happy just, like, sitting around doing nothing. And so he wasn't really motivated to walk. Even when we tried, he would pull himself up, but he would just kind of hang out. Anyways, we go to Destin for the first time, fall in love with it. And we're sitting on the beach, and Ziggy gets up because he sees Cali and just starts walking. So he took his first steps on that beach in Destin. We immediately became obsessed with Destin, and we. We've gone back with our best friends every single year since. So this was our sixth summer going. We stay in this same exact house. There's a golf cart there. It's very much a golf cart community, which, you guys know, is our vibe. There's a Wharf which is like a little like downtown area and there's just string lights everywhere. There's playgrounds, amazing restaurants, ice cream, there's zip lining, there's a little carousel they do they have like a little grass area with a projector and they'll play new movies every night. They have like a pirate show so it's so much fun. But my favorite part obviously is the beach because it's almost like a Caribbean coast style beach. The water is clear, clear blue, it's so warm. It's very shallow which nice because even though there's waves, the kids can walk out pretty far. They're all very strong swimmers but obviously when the waves get crazy we get really stressed. So it's nice when they're out there and can stand and aren't treading water with those big waves cuz it's pretty busy in the summertime, the sand is white and I it's very much like a southern vacation spot so a lot of people in the south go there.

Support for Unwell comes from Google Pixel. Okay, so I recently had one of those Sundays where I convinced myself it was a great idea to reorganize my entire closet. And of course halfway through I found myself sitting on the floor surrounded by clothes, completely overwhelmed. So I pulled out my Google Pixel 10 Pro because it comes with Gemini built in on the phone. I launched my camera using Gemini Live, showed it my crazy closet and I asked for help. And immediately it hit me up with all sorts of pro organizing tips like what to hang, how to fold stuff, and even helped me decide which items to donate and where to drop them off. It was a lifesaver. Ladies okay? But while I was neck deep in hoodies, I totally lost track of time until I got a text from Matt saying hey, what is the address for dinner tonight? Fortunately, the Google Pixel has this feature called Magic Cue that just pulls up the info you need without you having to dig through old emails and stuff. It popped the address right into my text for me and tap it was sent. Daddy. Gang, we could all use a little help making Sundays less scary. So get outside of your comfort phone and try the Google Pixel 10 Pro. Check it out at google store.com these AI features are for users 18+ check responses. Availability and results vary.

My friend Laura Lee, which I'm sure you guys know, we've had her on before. Her and her husband are good friends of mine, of David and I's, and her husband Tyler will golf with David all the time. Well, they're from Georgia and they also grew up going to Destin, so they go to Destin all the time. They actually have a house there. And so they give us so many favorite local spots as well. And I just love Southern hospitality. Like, every time we go, I'm like, I would totally live here, but it's so far removed from everything because it's on the complete opposite coast. And it's kind of a trek to get there because you have to fly into either Destin or Panama City, but there are smaller airports, so there's no direct flight from la. So we usually lay over in, like, Denver or Nashville or Dallas. But the kids are at such a great age now where they can travel very well and you just, you know, download some stuff on their iPad. I bring their coloring books and all the snacks. And they were troopers. They have the best time and they had so much fun. Stevie was like, can't we just live here? I'm like, it's different though, baby. We don't know anybody here. And auntie and uncle aren't going to be here when we leave. So they had so much fun and came back so tan. And we went to one of our favorite restaurants, dude and Meatballs, and they opened in 2022. And we were on the warf one day walking around, and there was a restaurant opening up right on the water and no one was there. And we went in and we met the owners, Lexi and Jake, and they had amazing food, amazing drinks, and it's right across from a cute little playground. And since then, we've just kept in contact with them ever since. And going back this year, which was four years since we first went there, they've just absolutely blown up. Like, they've done so well. They've expanded their menu. It's just been so cool to, like, see the area grow, and it just feels like a little home away from home. So we had the best time. The kids made so many memories, and it's. It's just one of those places that feels nostalgic and forces me to kind of disconnect. Obviously I still had to work and was uploading some content, but I was able to take a little break from filming. I, you know, took a little break from my meetings. I took the week off and so it was nice just to kind of chill and spend time with our loved ones. And I packed my makeup. I did not put on makeup one time the entire trip. It was incredible. I literally either wore a bikini or pajamas no matter where I went. I packed some clothes and dresses. Never wore them once because I was like, you know what? I'm just chilling. It just. It's so nice. And again, the, the southern hospitality is something else. People there are so like people in LA do not act like that. And it's just a breath of fresh air. Cuz everyone's so sweet and everyone that stopped me and, and followed me was so kind and respectful and it just makes me so happy to meet you guys anytime you say hi. So it was just a blast and I had so much fun. That was my little summer trip recap to Destin. But the summer is just beginning because my summer plans are a little bit wild, to be honest. Usually we're not while travelers unless it has to do with work. But we just have so many trips coming up back to back to back to back. And I'm grateful to be busy and the opportunity to do that. But it does stress me out a little bit, especially with my kids. Cuz some of them are with my kids. And then some of the trips. My sweet, loving, beautiful mother will be watching my children for me. Thank you, mom. Right now I'm finishing filming the show and we were actually supposed to be wrapped before I went to Florida, but we did extend so I will be filming until the second week of July, which is insane. I wish you guys could like follow me around for real of what it is to film a reality show. And in no way, shape or form am I complaining because I used to work 12 hour shifts in the hospital. Okay, but it is kind of wild. It's wild how time consuming it is. And it's not necessarily the filming part. It's a lot of like commuting to different locations. It's getting mic'd up, it's kind of waiting around for you to film a scene. The confessionals, when you like sit down and are doing interviews are like four hours at a time. And that's not even for one episode. It's wild. So that's taken a lot of my time. But we wrap second week of July and I'm really excited because I feel like the show is really coming together and just, like, turning out really well. I. I had no idea what to expect, to be honest, when I agreed to do the show. And I mostly just wanted to, like, hang out with my friends because I love the girls so much, and it's been so fun to be able to spend so much time with them. But I didn't know exactly what the plot lines were going to be. And now that we're in it and, like, kind of seeing it come to life, I am really excited for you guys to see it. And I think you're really going to enjoy it. At least I hope you do. If you don't, sorry. You know, we don't have say or control of what's shown and how things are cut. I have no idea what scenes made it, what scenes didn't. So we'll just be finding out together. So let's say a little prayer because, yeah, you just never know with reality television. But we wrap. We wrap second week of July. David and I were going to try to go on a little anniversary trip in July as well. But I honestly don't know if we're going to be able to do that because we have so much other travel in August, and I don't want to leave the kids. So we'll kind of see. We do want to do our vow renewal probably in the fall, if we're able to. And so maybe we'll take a trip then to celebrate 10 years married. Because again, filming has been so hectic, and then we got extended. So I didn't really expect to not do the vow renewal this summer because I just. I really didn't want it filmed. I feel like it's too intimate and I want such a small number of guests there. I just didn't want, like, a bunch of camera crews there. And we never had a wedding. And so I felt like this moment needs to be our moment and not everyone's moment. And I don't mean to say that in a selfish way, but I just feel like if there's a million cameras on me, I'm not going to be able to fully relax and enjoy it. I just want to be myself and celebrate my husband and I with our kids. And again, like, my kids aren't in the show either, so I don't want them being filmed. I really want Ziggy to walk me down the aisle. And obviously that's, like, something that would be filmed, and I don't want him on television. So that's something that we're just kind of keeping private for our family. So been working on trying to plan that I need to hire a event planner because, holy. I don't know how brides do it. This is just a vow renewal and the amount of work that goes into it. I'm, like, planning a wedding. No, no. There's no way. It's crazy. I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about this, but I'm gonna do it anyways. You guys know I love for St. Jude. St. Jude does the FedEx golf tournament every year, and David and I are going to golf the FedEx St. Jude cup in Memphis. I haven't golfed In, I don't know, 25 years, probably. So David bought me a set. I've practiced. One time he told me I need to start practicing or I'm going to embarrass our family. I just don't have time to golf right now. I will do anything for St. Jude and raising money for them because they are literally the most incredible foundation. And when I got to go tour that hospital, I think it was October of 2024, Scotty and I went, and it changed my life. It's just the most magical, incredible place. And although these families are going through so much, like, they take such good care of them, and they do so much for cancer research, and anytime I'm invited to do anything with them, I will drop everything and do it. And so Dave and I are going to golf that tournament, and I'm really excited. I'm hoping, like, he can golf, and I could just be, like, a hot caddy, you know? And then one of my very close friends is getting married in Hawaii, and I am so excited to. I love Hawaii so much. And we really wanted to go back to Kauai this year, but then we went to Dustin, obviously, with our friends. And then I had to film, so we didn't have time to go. The kids were very mad at us, but we told. We promised them we'll go back next summer. So David and I were like, okay, well, yeah, we have the wedding, but why don't we just extend for a little bit and go just him and I. So I think we're gonna go for, like, four day. Four or five days. We're gonna start there and spend some time together, just him and I, and then trip with the wedding, which will be really fun. And then if you've been around here for a while, then, you know, we go to Vegas every single year for our fantasy football draft party with all of our best friends. And essentially, David's been a part of this fantasy football group with our best friends for years. I don't even know how many years, but probably like, five years ago, we started going to Vegas during the draft party. And so we all go to Vegas. We get cabanas by the pool, and then all the boys will pick, like, their teams. I don't. Is that how it works? They pick, like, their players for their draft party, team, whatever. I don't know about football. But then they place bets and do all the things, and then the girls kind of hang out by the pool. We go shopping, we go to the casino. So it's a really fun time. And we look forward to that every year because we love Vegas just for a few days, getaway. So we're gonna go to Hawaii and then Vegas and then Memphis to golf for St. Jude. So it's gonna be a little bit wild and crazy. And then later this year, the show comes out. I can't say when, but after we get back, then we'll probably be leading up to press tour, which will be crazy. Like, the kids will go back to school, we'll start press tour, and then the show will come out, and then all hell will break loose. I just wanted to give a little vacation recap for you guys. Before we got into today's episode, I thought it would be fun to go over how I stay young, hot, and happy, because I've been seeing all these posts on Instagram, all these, like, aesthetic girls, you know, and they're doing photo dumps, and it's like, how I look and feel my best at 40. And then you scroll through and it's all explanations. And of course, I'm saving every single one of them because I'm obsessed, and I want to stay as young as long as possible. And sure, I'm aging every day, but that doesn't mean I can't look younger every day. So we're going to go through some of the things that I've done to change my routine. Some things I've added, some things I've taken away. I'm at the point in my life where I do feel like less is more. There was a point where I was doing too much, and I look back and I'm like, girl, what were you doing? It's actually scary. So we're gonna go through it. All I care about in life is just feeling my best, and mental health is obviously number one. And I feel like if your mental health is not in check, then it's Very much physically apparent on your body. So number one is therapy. Listen, I'll chat about it all day long. Therapy saved my life. I feel like it's just made me such a happier person, and I'm forever grateful for that. Number two is my workout routine, and that was part of my therapy experience, was my therapist was like, you need to find an outlet to get out all this emotion. And it was hard for me to stay consistent with working out pretty much my entire life. I was an athlete growing up. I played volleyball pretty much my whole life. And because I was going to practice every day and being told what to do when I stopped playing volleyball, it was really hard for me to find an exercise that I genuinely enjoyed because I was such a sports girl. And when was that? When that was taken away from me, it was really hard for me. So I tried everything. I tried Orange Theory. I felt like I had the type of body where I needed to do a ton of cardio and try to run on a treadmill. Why I thought that that was necessary is beyond me. I just think I wasn't educated on health and fitness. And I also had a really bad issue with binge eating. I would just eat, beat anything in sight. And of course, I'm not gonna see any change in my body. Also, if you're doing exercises that do not bring you joy, you're never gonna be consistent. You need to find a routine and exercise that makes you look forward to doing it. If you look forward to working out, it completely changes the game. And that's kind of where I'm at right now, is in my split routine with lifting heavy weights and also Pilates. It's nice to have balance between the two. I feel like if I was lifting heavy five days a week, it would almost become like a chore, like too tedious and not too much of a change. But I like that Pilates kind of forces me to slow down, have a slow burn. It almost like elongates me and helps with stretching. And I'm really bad at, like, pre and post workout stretching. And so Pilates helps a lot with that. So working out has changed my life in so many ways, to be honest. And I never thought I'd be the person to set an alarm every day for 6am to work out before my day starts. But that's where I'm at, and I look forward to it because I know it puts my mind at ease and it starts my day off right. Even when we were in Florida, I took two different Pilates mat Pilates classes with my friends, because I was like, one, I want to stay in routine, and two, I know if I don't work out, I'm just not Avery. I don't know what it is, but when I don't work out, I can feel such a big difference in my mental health. And so sticking to it has really helped a lot. Botox and lip filler. Listen, I went crazy with lip filler back in the day. I looked like I got punched in the face. I actually looked like that guy in Monsters, Inc. When he, like, gets his lip sucked by, like, the mean boss guy, and he looks crazy. That's what I looked like back in the day. And it, like, wasn't even cute. Like, the shape wasn't even good. It was lumpy, it was uneven. It was all sorts of fucked up. So completely dissolving my lips and getting them refilled just a touch to help with fine lines and wrinkles changed the game for me. And then obviously, Botox. I get Botox in my 11s, which is between my eyebrows, all on my forehead. Good. My crow's feet. And then masseter. Botox really helps to slim your face. I also have really bad tmj. I don't know if you can hear this. Yeah, that's my tmj. Everyone here is like, what the nightmare? Asmr. Listen. It's because I've been sucking too much dick. Kidding. Kidding. No, I've been with the same man for 13 years. It's big, but like. Like, don't flatter him. I got tm. I. I first started having signs of TMJ in high school because I got hit in the face by my coach with a volleyball, like, really hard on my jaw, and it just, like, never recovered. And I went to a couple chiropractors, and they tried to, like, pop it back. They even used almost like a theragun on it. Didn't do anything. So someone suggested TMJ Botox. And so I started doing that probably my mid-20s, in addition to helping with my TMJ, because my TMJ does get really painful, and so it help to eliminate that. And then bonus, it helps slim your face. So if you want a little bit of, like, you know, face slimming action, TMJ Botox is where it's at.

Another thing I've changed in my routine that I feel like has made a big difference in my physique is not eating after 6pm this is harder than it sounds, I'm not gonna lie to you. Especially right now with my filming schedule. It's insane. And then fast forward to the morning, guys. I hate to say it, I've been drinking greens. I've been drinking greens instead of coffee in the morning and I don't drink coffee until after my workout. I know, it's sick. It's sick. I told David I was gonna do this and he was like, good luck. I was like, you don't wanna do with me. He's like, fuck no. I'm waking up and I'm having my cup of coffee. But he's 6 foot 5 with the metabolism of a 12 year old, so must be nice. But yeah, I was doing some research and coffee really is not good for you on an empty stomach, especially when you have anxiety. And I have a lot of anxiety. I was trying to find something that would help with my metabolism, give me a more natural form of energy, you know, start my day off right. And so I've been drinking greens in the morning when I wake up with some ice cold water. And then I'll go to my workout and then I'll come home and make my coffee and a high protein breakfast. That's kind of what I've been doing. And I feel like the gap of not eating past six and then not drinking coffee until after my workout, which is usually like between 9:30 and 10. That's a pretty large gap. I wouldn't necessarily call it intermittent fasting by any means because I'm not that good. But that has been what has worked for me. And don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna starve myself if I'm hungry, if I'm hung hungry, I'm gonna eat something. And some mornings I wake up and I'm like, I'm so hungry, I will eat. Another thing that I think is that I know actually is really good for you. And my friend Salome actually taught me this back in 2023. I remember when I interviewed her on the podcast, I was like, how the do you look like you do? What are you eating every day? And she was like, dude, my trick is bone broth. I was like, yeah, that's not for me. I wasn't ready to make that. That health and wellness change yet. Was talking to her about it, and I was like, dude, I never did the bone broth thing. And she was like, you have to do it. It's an insane amount of protein. You can warm it up like tea. It's so delicious. So I've been buying bone broth from Erewhon. You can get it at Whole Foods, Sprouts, even Target sells bone broth. You can heat it up. It's so warm on your tummy. It's like 60 grams of protein, which is insane. Like, you can get so much good protein out of it. Very, very low in calorie. It does have a high sodium content, but list give somewhere. Okay, I'm not gonna have dry, unsalted bone broth. That's disgusting. I. I did look this up. There is no perfect time to drink bone broth. You can drink it at night, you can drink it in the afternoon. You can start your day with it, but it is a great way to kind of curb your cravings a little bit. And if I'm hungry, sometimes I'll just heat up a big cup of bone broth and drink that, and then I'll eat a snack just to get my protein intake. Because. Because that's the hardest thing for me right now in my journey when it comes to food, is not eating enough protein. Never in my life. What I think I would say out loud, I wasn't able to eat enough. But it's the protein content. I'm supposed to be eating as many grams of protein that I weigh, which is about 140 grams of protein a day. That's fucking crazy. That is so much protein. And if you, like, really calculate it and you break it down, what you're eating and how much protein that is, it is a lot in comparison to how I used to eat, because I used to just eat a very minimal amount. Trying to lose weight and also being in an extremely depressive state where I didn't have an appetite. So trying to find cleaner ways of getting protein into my body has really helped. And bone broth is a big trick with that. So it is really nice cutting back on alcohol. Yeah, I know. It's unfortunate. Here's the thing. I love a glass of wine. I think we all know that by now. I love a dirty martini. I think we all know that by now. But unfortunately, David and I have a large wine collection that's kind of like our thing is we are not able to spend a lot of time together during the day. Because realistically, right now I am working seven days a week, sometimes 12 to 15 hour days, depending on how many scenes I'm filming for the show. And then I have the podcast, I have brand deals, I have meetings, emails. I need to, you know, post on social media. And so my days can kind of get away from me. And sometimes my husband gets put on the back burner and I hate that. But right now we're like telling ourselves that it's just a temporary thing while we're filming. But our thing is, like, once we put the kids down, that's our time together. Like, we watch our show, we have our little in home date nights. We'll heat up the jacuzzi, have a bottle of wine. I need to not have two to three glasses of wine every night, seven nights a week. That's bad. It's bad for you. It's bad for my body, the way I look, bloating, weight, my liver. So I did stop drinking. Aside from the weekends, I took a large break from alcohol. I think it was like three or four months a couple years ago. And I felt really good about it. Like I. There was no reason for it. In no way was I an alcoholic, but I definitely was drinking a lot of wine every night. Like two glasses probably, which isn't a lot, but when you're doing it every night, like, it does add up. I just felt like I wasn't as productive. And then as I've gotten older, I've realized in the mornings I'm not hungover, but I have. I will get extremely bad headaches. I've just gotten to a point now where I've also realized when I'm drinking like that you're not even like getting a bus. And like, why am I just drinking just to have a drink? And so now I'll only drink, like, I'll have a glass of wine or a martini when we go on a date night. And then if we do like a little in home Jacuzzi night, him and I on like a Saturday, then I'll have a glass or two of win. Then other than that, I won't drink. And what I've done is, I mean, if you follow me on socials and you know, my drink fridge restock videos are my whole life. I'm obsessed with restocking my drink fridge. It's not just for social media. Like that's only when I'm filming it. A lot of the times I don't even film my drink fridge restock videos because I'm just restocking it because I was like, you don't need a glass of alcohol on your hands. You just need a drink. And so I just have a bunch of different types of sodas or coffees or energy drinks or other things that kind of fulfill my craving of. I don't know, it's not alcohol but it's like taste. I don't know any like beverage girls or guys probably understand what I'm saying. Like I'm always sipping on something. Like last night I was opening packages sipping on my Dr. Pepper. Zero coconut cream. If you haven't had that, it's the best soda I've ever had in my entire life. I had a panic attack the other day because it said limited edition on it. And I realized I won't be able to survive if that's not a permanent flavor. So I will be going to my local grocery store and buying every case of that Dr. Pepper because it's amazing and that kind of like keeps me busy. That sounds so bad. It keeps me busy drinking. But it just I. I thought I like to socially drink and have something to sip on that doesn't necessarily mean alcohol. I just want like, you know, a little fun bevy. It makes me feel fancy, especially with my pebble ice. So cutting back and only drinking on the weekends has been a game changer for me. Another thing that has helped me feel confident and put together, I will say is finding clothes that fit my body correctly. I don't want to get dressed when I don't feel confident in what I'm wearing or I look through my closet and I feel like I have ill fitting clothes. Listen, for me, the baggier the better. I don't give a fuck. I like showing my body. I'll show my tits and my ass. I'll wear a little string bikini, but I want to be in baggy jeans and an oversized T shirt every day. And I literally don't care because I feel confident in might not accentuate my curves, it might not make me look like a woman, I might look like a random dude, but I really don't care because I feel good in it and I feel put together. There was a time in my life for like multiple Months last year when I was not doing well mentally and I was literally living in either pajamas or a sweatset. I did not wear anything else. I didn't wear jeans, definitely didn't wear dresses or anything. And so I've just learned that you only need a few basics. In closet I have cleaned out so much of my a few pairs of good fitting baggy jeans, basic white tees, cute tank tops, a couple sundresses and I kept a lot of my sweatset so I'm not gonna lie to you. But other than that like when I'm filming it's so easy just to grab and go. Vintage Levi's, white tea square toe, Javiana flip flops. I'm good. I have four colors of these right here. If you're watching these square toed Havana flip flops. I bought these three years ago. I rem, I sold them out on Amazon still using the same pair and I have black, white, brown and green. They're just never out of style. You know if Haley Bieber wears them, I'm going to wear them. So anyways, good fitting clothes and going down to the basics, you don't need to do too much and you don't need to spend a lot of money. I literally just linked the shirt I was wearing earlier from Amazon. It was $13 plain white basic tee. And you know who wears it? Buck and Hailey Bieber. Yeah she pairs it with a Chanel but like who wouldn't?

Another thing that actually Dave and I have both been doing that has helped an immense amount with stress, anxiety and getting a good night's rest. Red light therapy. I love my red light therapy mask. It's only 10 minutes a day. I do it every day. But we recently got a red light therapy mat. Like it looks like A yoga mat. And it's funny. We got it. This is so bad to say, but I don't even care. We got it in the mail in pr. And I was like, like, what is this? Because doing the 10 minutes a day of red light therapy for my face is hard enough for me to remember. I've got too much going on. I'll wear it when I'm doing the dishes or making a coffee or whatever. So I get this red light therapy mat in the mail, and I'm like, what is this? So I'm looking and of course it's like, you know, stress reducing, anxiety reducing, helps for better sleep, skin, all the things. And I was like, I think I'm just gonna die. Donate this. And David goes, well, let me look it up. This is $1300. He's like, no, we're not getting rid of this. We're using this. Can you tell? We grew up poor. How funny though. We're like, no, keep it. So we're gonna donate it. And David's like, well, let me try it. His ass is laying on that naked every night before bed. He lays it out on our bed. We'll watch a show. And he just lays like this. I will say you have to use it for like quite a long time. I think it's supposed to be like 40 minutes or something, but it makes such a big difference. I don't know what that red light therapy does, but it makes me feel so calm and happy and sleep good. And I feel like when I don't use it, I always have, like really high stress dreams. I'll wake up, like, kind of sweaty or like have anxiety dreams. This is amazing. It's like, cut it all out. So I. If you have the ability to a red light therapy, if you can't afford the mat, just get the mask. I like the. I think it's called Omnilux is the name of it. And what I like about the Omnilux mask is it forms to your face. So it's like, it's not hard, it's soft and silicone. So it'll kind of like. What am I trying to say? Curve around your face. I don't know, It's. It's really nice. I really like it. And I talked so much about the girls that were using it, and now I am one of those girls. So I promise it works. Not being paid to say this, by the way. All right, let's talk about skincare. Because there's two things that I've changed in my routine thanks to My esthetician, Madison, who's amazing, number one, I realized I was over washing my face. I am such a skincare, and I've used the same face wash since I was pregnant with Ziggy, which is kind of crazy to say because he's seven, so. Well, he's turning eight this year, so almost eight years I've used the same face wash. And the reason I started using this face wash is because when I got pregnant with Ziggy, I had really, really, really bad hormonal acne. It wasn't like, cystic. It was just like a. To, like, little tiny bumps all over my face, like, a lot of texture. And everyone was like, you need to use benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. And my OB was like, no, that can pass through the placenta. You absolutely cannot use those products. And she was like, this is what you should use. And it was the use to the people. Kale green tea spinach face wash, which has all natural ingredients. It's literally like kale spinach green tea. It's unscented. It's great for sensitive skin. And it was pregnancy skin safe. So morning and night, I've been using that for almost eight years, which is crazy. If they ever stop making it, I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm going to have a really hard time. I started to realize a while back that I was stripping my skin of all of its natural oils. And I also told myself, I was like, okay, so obviously I'm washing my face at night. You, you know, are up all day. I'm working out, I'm sweating, I'm wearing makeup. Makeup. I need to cleanse my skin, clear my pores, and wash my face at night, then do my skincare. But then I'm only going to bed and sleeping and waking up, you know, six, eight hours later. Why am I washing my face again? So I started just splashing my face with cold water to kind of like, wake it up and get, like, the excess oils for my nighttime skincare off. And then using an exfoliating pad. My favorite is Medicube, because, I mean, Medicube's just the best, and it's very cheap, but it's very effective. And so started using the Medicube exfoliating pads. After I rinse my face with cold water in the morning and then doing my skincare routine, I was panicking. I was like, I'm going to break out. I'm going to get such bad acne for not washing my face in the morning. Nope, nope. My skin has never looked better. I feel like my pores are smaller. I'm getting way less breakouts. I feel like cuz I'm not stripping my skin of the natural oils that are supposed to be there by over washing my face. And so that has helped immensely. The second thing that has completely changed the game for me on my skin and again, this is because my esthetician told me I need to start doing it, is adding retinol to my routine two to three times a week. I never used retinol, you guys, my whole life, which is crazy. I'm 31 and I just started using it like four months ago maybe. Game changer, absolute game changer. And I use the skin better. Nighttime retinol cream. It's like in that tall navy tube with gold on it with the twist top. It's expensive, I'm not gonna lie to you. But I will say you're supposed to start very slow with retinol. Like I started using it like every three days just to see how my skin would react. That's what my esthetician told me to do. And so that's what I started doing. I immediately was like, whoa, my skin is so happy right now. It looked so glow doughy. The texture was amazing. It lessened my breakouts by like a million. I don't know, I don't know how it does it, but retinol just transforms your skin. And because you're only using it a couple times a week, yes, the bottle is expensive, but you're not using it every night, so it's going to last you months. Madison gave me my first bottle of retinol that I bought from her like three or four months ago. I just repurchased a second bottle like three weeks ago, so it lasted me like a solid few months. So if you're only a few times a year, I do think it's worth it. And it really does help with like fine lines, wrinkles, texture, overall glow in your skin. I've just been loving it. And that mixed with not washing my face in the morning and the red light. Therapy skin is on Felik. Oh, and Botox. Botox gives you that gorgeous glow. Helps with your fine lines, helps your makeup to not sink into your pores and into your lines on your forehead. So yeah, listen, we're just on our young ha journey here. This just goes without saying, but sleep, sleep is so important. And if I don't get, I'm like an 8 to 10 hour a night type sleeper. If I could sleep 12 hours every night, I would. My kids are starting to stay up a little bit later now and so when we put them down then I'll like have to get some work done or Dave and I want to spend time together or I'll, I'll have to, you know, prepare for my day or I don't know, put laundry away, do whatever needs to get done after the kids are down. And so there's no way in hell I'm going to be getting 12 hours of sleep. Probably not 10 hours of sleep either. But I really try my best to get at least eight hours and it makes such a big difference. It's so good for your overall health. It's so good for your mental health. It makes you more productive. I feel like I crash and hit a wall at like 2 or 3pm If I'm not getting a good night's rest. And so making sleep a priority is very important. If you can try to do it. I am not a stay out, stay up late type girl. It's not going to happen for me. And now that I have to be up so early every day for my workout and dropping my kids off at school or summer camp, it is necessary for me to go to bed earlier. So yes, I do like to go to bed at 9pm what's it to you? That concludes my list of things that make me young, hot and happy. And I hope you loved it because I just love listening to podcasts or watching people's content where they talk about their routines. Because sometimes it gives me ideas and like, lets me spark joy in different ways. Because sometimes it just gets boring. It gets boring doing the same thing every day, using the same products every day. And that's what social media and podcasts are for. You spread word, you share ideas. There's no gatekeeping here. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed today's episode. I loved catching up with you. I love these random solo episodes where I just yap and yap to my girl girlfriends. It feels like a little FaceTime session and I'm grateful to have the platform to do it and that you guys are listening. So I hope you're having an amazing start to your summer. Hot girl summer all the way. You better be wearing those bikinis, strutting your and having fun. And I'll see you next week.
