How does God expand our faith when wicked people prosper? Main Point: God expands our faith by drawing us near to see that He Himself is our true prosperity. 1. Distrust of God’s goodness pulls us away from God (v1-16) 2. God reorders what we see and what we treasure when we draw near to Him (v17-25). 3. God Himself, not His gifts, is our true prosperity. (V26-28) Psalms 44 - God expands our faith through lament rooted in His lovingkindness. Psalms 73 - God expands our faith by drawing us near to see that He Himself is our true prosperity.

Big Idea - What is genuine worship? Is my worship in spirit and in truth? Am I the kind of worshipper God is seeking? the Father is seeking worshippers who draw near to the real God through his Spirit and his Son, and in Christ, the search is over for anyone willing to be found.

Big Idea - When we come to Jesus, desperate for help, what does he want our faith to finally hold onto? Not the sign we ask for, nor even the promise we're given, but the Person himself — the Christ whose cross and empty tomb give a life that death cannot take."

Big Idea - Where does joy come from? We know the Sunday School answer: “God, Jesus, the Bible!” But the real test of where we think joy comes from is to examine our priorities. We prioritize the things we believe will give us joy, directly or indirectly. Where does joy come from, and do the priorities we have in life line up with the true source of joy? Joy comes from God alone, which means we will prioritize worship over worldly pursuits, but even more than that, joy comes from doing God's work, which means we will prioritize the work of the harvest over looking out for myself. This joy overflows from our heart into action, not the forced priority of duty or obligation. But joy is not always that simple or easy. The good news is that Jesus is the ultimate example of finding HIs greatest joy through HIs deepest suffering!

Big Idea - "We can only lose well — and find lasting joy — when our life orbits the Son who is both above all and loves us as our Bridegroom."

Big Idea - Because God loved a hostile world enough to give His Son, the question is no longer whether we are loved, but whether we will trust that love enough to step into the light.

Big Idea - "Your greatest need is not more knowledge but new life — and new life comes only by looking to the lifted-up Son."
