Hello, everybody. Welcome to another episode of Christ with Coffee on Ice. I am your host, Ali Yost, and it is a joy and honor to be here with you guys today. If it looks like I have been crying, the answer is when? When is Ali not? You know, when is she not? And I feel like as of lately, I have had to, like, physically had to film while also feeling all the things and today is the very last second for me to film. So I was like, lord, this timing is interesting, but it really, I think, testifies to the scripture that says that it is actually only in our weakness that we get to be strengthened by the Lord and when he gets to be our strength. And so that is definitely how I'm feeling today, but also so incredibly excited and grateful for today and for whatever Jesus has planned for today. I am not going to make any promises that it's going to be wildly impactful. I'm hoping that it does. If it is Holy Spirit led, he usually has something very impactful for us. But yeah, I think if I'm just going to be honest with you guys, I don't know how much I can really get into it because this is something that's so fresh for me right now. But something that Jesus has been revealing to me is that there is an area of just my heart. There's an area of me that I have been believing, operating in for my entire life that needs to change. And it's a good thing because it means that he wants to give me freedom and that he wants me to experience life through a lens that's not this lens anymore, a lens of how I've been Seeing myself a lens of how I've been seeing my relationships in my life, I just, I know that it's actually a really good thing and it means that there's freedom on the other side and it's in his love. I actually feel so cared for by him with what I've had to face over the last couple weeks. But I feel like it's really come to a head, like as of yesterday, which is why I feel so raw and exposed today, which is why I come to you with a weepy looking face and some swollen eyeballs. So, you know, but that's okay. Like, I'm actually okay with showing up on days where I feel more exposed. And even if that means I'm not necessarily ready to let you guys in on what that means, I know for a fact I'm going to be talking about it because I just think anything that Jesus heals and delivers us from is something to testify to the world about. And there is power in our testimonies. And so this is just another part of my story with Jesus. And so I am looking forward to the day that I am fully healed from this and I'm in a place where I can testify to the goodness of Jesus. And I mean, I can right now. It's so. I mean, even in the midst of it, I feel so cared for and loved by him while also feeling like I'm looking at the top of a really, really big mountain where I'm like, wow, that is going to take a lot of work. You know, I think that's been the most overwhelming feeling I've been feeling in the last couple days, is like, oh my gosh, wow. I have been operating in a way for 31 years. This is something that has gone back to literal childhood. And I'm like looking at this giant mountain that's accumulated over the years of 31 years, and I'm like, how am I. How are we gonna do that? Jesus? In a lot of ways, I just feel really behind. I feel really immature and I'm like, how am I gonna catch up? You know, now that it's like, I can see it, you know, I think it's just about taking it day by day. And until the day comes where I feel like I've really gotten to the top of that mountain, I can't wait to share it with you guys. Because I do believe that anything the Lord really has us walk through, we. I mean, anything that he helps us overcome heals us in. The reason we're supposed to testify is because there are other people who are either going through that same thing or are about to. And so, yeah, it's just the journey, you know? But aside from all of that, thank you guys for letting me share that with you. I would also love to ask you guys for prayer in that, too. I just really desperately need the healing of Jesus, and I need his guidance from His Holy Spirit of just how to navigate this. And you know what? It might feel really scary and big right now. Maybe it's not as big as I think it is. Maybe right now it feels big because it's like, I'm just seeing it. So who knows? Maybe a few months down the road, I'm like, actually, it wasn't that big of a mountain as I thought it was. Right now it feels big. And right now I'm like, oh, my gosh, I need Jesus. So if you could keep me in your prayers, that would mean the world to me. And I genuinely, genuinely appreciate the love and support that you guys give me daily. I get DMS and comments from you guys all the time about how you're keeping me in your prayers. And it is so mutual. I love y'. All. And if there's any way that I could also be interceding and praying for you guys, just let me know. But, yeah, that's my prayer request, is that Jesus just shows me how I have so much faith that I will overcome this. I do. I have faith that. I mean, and then the only reason I do is because I know I have Jesus. And with through Christ, we can do all things right. If he said it in His Word, we have to know that it's true. And so I have to believe and know that there is a version of me that has overcome this. And it is because of Christ. It's because of his blood. It's because he is already overcome the world, as he told us in scripture. He said, but fear not, because I have overcome the world. And so I have the best partner to do it with. And I have incredible people around me who also, I know will love me through this and. And have patience for me as I learn. I feel like I'm, like, learning how to ride my bike. I know this sounds so vague because you, like, can't you. Look, I'm not really telling you exactly what it is, but I feel like this is something that most people learned. When you start learning how to ride a bike, I don't know, what age is that? Single digits, not double digits, definitely not in your 30s. So I'm like, I'm trying to ride a bike for the first time at the age of 31. And that's fine. It's possible. But I'm like, literally, I have training wheels at the age of 31 is what it feels like in this area of my life that has now been exposed as true to me. So, yeah, that's just like a funny. It's a funny concept. Yeah. Anyway, I love you guys. First off, happy Friday. I hope that you guys are all having a beautiful, beautiful day. Another thing that's really exciting is I am wearing a piece of our new merch that is live. I was telling you guys and showing you a bit of it last week. It's been live for a little over a week now. And this piece that I'm wearing right now is our best selling piece, which is so exciting. I will say this was one of my favorites. I don't think I was expecting this one to be the best selling piece right now, but this is the number one piece, aside from our cups and then also a couple of crew necks. I am so incredibly proud of all of these pieces and designs. So this T shirt that I'm wearing, obviously it says Christ with coffee on ice on the front. Established 2023. I went ahead and I wrote this in the description of some of the pieces and just to give you guys a little inspo, because I think it's so fun to kind of like make T shirts your own. This T shirt is made up 100% cotton, and it is so comfortable. Amazing. But I kind of love a more cropped, like, raw edged look. I feel like that's trending right now. It's just the vibe. So I went ahead and took some scissors and I set it in the description. I was like. And also Ali suggests, like, if you want to have a little extra fun. But they are a little bit longer because it's just like a regular T shirt fit. They're unisex. This is a size medium that I got. I probably could do a small or a medium, but, like, this is a little bit more oversized for me. But I cut a couple inches off the bottom, which is fun. And then I also made this, like, raw neckline. But the best part is actually the back. And I don't know how to do it. I don't know how to do it with the couch situation right now. I might stand up and turn around or sit. Okay, can you guys see it? Okay. It says, I love you, but Jesus loves you more. And then there he is on the. On the back. We also have it in another really fun, like, off white kind of cream T shirt with baby blue writing, which is so cute to me. You guys will be seeing me wear blue, like, every color combo there is. Okay. But brown is, like, kind of having a moment right now. And brown has become one of my favorite colors lately. Whatever. I don't know why. I feel like brown would probably be one of the least interesting colors, but for me, it's so aesthetic. Like, I love the color brown right now. So anyway, the brown is very fun. And also we'll put on the screen right here, too, some other pieces and colors. Look how fun, guys. I've never been so proud. Like, this might be the coolest merch launch we've ever had. So I'm very excited about it, and I'm glad that you guys are enjoying it too, and you're loving it. These pieces will definitely be the perfect conversation starters. They're very evangelistic, you know, and so if you're ever looking for an excuse to tell people about how Jesus has changed your life, I think that these are great pieces for that. And I'm also looking forward to wearing them out in public. I already have been. But to continue to wear them out in public and tell people about how amazing Jesus is and that he heals. Jesus heals. He is the only one that can truly, truly heal us from the inside out and every part of us. That is one thing that I continue to learn every single day is that Jesus is the only one that can truly heal. And granted, there are other. Like, even with what I've. I've now been facing, I'm, like, going back to therapy, which is really good. I was starting to go to therapy a little bit, and then I stopped. Classic. And now I'm going back, and I'm very excited. And my therapist loves Jesus, which is super helpful because I do think that it's important to, you know, have language for the things that we're going through and have somebody who can give you that language. Like, somebody who literally is a professional in these things, but then partnering with the Holy Spirit, so then he can actually, like, deliver you and heal you. And so that's my plan. That's my plan. I am really looking forward to what that looks like for me. And I think that if there's anything that Jesus wants to heal you in, just know that it is actually to give you a better quality of life. You know, if he wants to heal you in something, it's because he wants you to enjoy being in your own mind more. He wants you to enjoy being in relationships more. He wants you to enjoy being alive. You know, I think that when healing comes, it's like we actually just get to enjoy. And I think ultimately, like our creator, his intentions with creating everything. When you open Genesis 1 and you see all the intentionality that God put into the earth and even all the little critters and creatures and animals in the world, and then he makes man, and then he tells man that you actually hold dominion over all of this. Like, all of this is actually yours. You are at the top of the food chain. It's yours. I believe his heart in that was for us to enjoy. Enjoy. I believe that our God is a God who wants his kids to enjoy. I think that's always been his heart. And so if that means that we need to be delivered, we need to repent. We need deep healing through his spirit and his love. His only mission in that is for us to enjoy more of life and ourselves and living in our own minds like he loves. It's in his love. And that was another thing I had to do this morning. I just said, lord, I repent. And a lot of the things that I am, like, coming to the realization of is. It's a lot of things I couldn't have necessarily controlled. You know, when I tell you that these are things that I have only ever known my whole life, it's like as a little kid, you don't know any better. And a lot of the things that I've been programmed to operate in and to think about, and like this very thing that's been revealed to me, I'm like, I was just dealt some unfortunate cards, like, I couldn't have controlled that. But at the same time, like, we do actually have to repent for believing things. And if we've been believing things our entire life and it wasn't necessarily our fault because we were taught it or shown it or whatever that looks like, that's okay. Like, we do actually have to say, you know what? God, no, I'm so sorry for believing these things. I've been so blind. I had no idea. And yeah, I know that you also agree that this wasn't my fault, but I. I repent. I'm sorry. I don't. I actually don't want to live this way anymore. I think there's such power in repentance as well, because that's a time for you to, like, come out of agreement with a lot of those things and it's not going to be a one and done thing. Like, I know even for me right now, that won't be the only time that I'm going to probably have to repent for this thing. Because when you have only ever known how to operate in a certain way for so long, it's not just a light switch thing, you know, where now all of a sudden you're like, never mind. I don't think like that anymore because Jesus has revealed it to me and he's delivered me and I'm done not doing it. I mean, hopefully, I don't know, maybe that's my story, but I don't think it is. I think that this is going to be a journey of learning with him, and I'll probably have to repent a couple more times. But what's beautiful about it is there's freedom on the other end. This episode is brought to you by Glorify, the number one Christian daily devotional app. I've definitely had the conversation with somebody probably multiple times where they've been asking me how I stay connected to God throughout my day. We obviously talk a lot about purpose here, about Finding the path God has set for us. And when it comes to path, should lead to a future that matters. That's why when I heard about Grand Canyon University, I was so impressed. Because they are a private, nonprofit Christian university in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona that believes education shouldn't be a privilege, but an affordable path forward for everyone. GCU is grounded in Christian truth. They are working to empower the next generation to lead with integrity and serve with purpose. And they make it accessible. Did you know GCU has kept tuition at the same rate on its traditional campus for 17 years? Plus in 2025 al they awarded over $404 million in institutional scholarships. I would love to actually just keep talking about this topic of healing with Jesus and what that really means, what that can look like, and just see what the Bible says about it, you know. So I think one of the first scriptures that we could really touch on, which a lot of us are might already be familiar with. I feel like this is a fairly popular verse. It's in Matthew 11, 28, 30. So I'm actually, it's on my phone right now, but I'm gonna take the real thing. I'm gonna read it right out of the book. I do have my Bible here from Hosanna Revival, which you guys know. I love Hosanna. A couple of you guys were this, this might actually be over by now, but if you were having a hard time using my code. Last week I messaged Hosanna because I got a couple DMS from you guys saying like, ally, your code isn't working. What's going on? And I was like, surely that can't be true. But after getting so many of them, I messaged Hosanna. And I was like, hey, what's going on? And they were like, oh, we're running a sale right now, this week. And so all of like our affiliated link, they don't apply. Like, we turn them off because they were doing like such a big sale that, you know, any affiliate links they wouldn't have been able to do. I just, I didn't know about that. So anyway, if it wasn't working, it was only because Hosanna apparently was like running a major sale. And so no link set, like no affiliated codes at all were working. But I think that they said it was only going on for the week. So I think by now, if you wanted to use my code it should be back up and running, which is just ali yost. They have the most beautiful bibles and journals and I adore them. They're an incredible company to support, very intentional, amazing, pure hearted people. And their bibles are just so whimsy and elegant and gorgeous. I love my yellow one here. And I am reading from the new living translation NLT. So we're going to read Matthew 11:28. We're going to start at Matthew 11:28. Actually I want to start at Matthew 11:25. Just a few verses before this is Jesus's prayer of thanksgiving. At that time, Jesus prayed this prayer oh Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes Father, it pleased you to do it this way. My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Then Jesus said, come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear and the burden I give you is light. Many people carry wounds from childhood that they don't even realize they're carrying. I'm one of those people. Just some examples could be people pleasing. Fear of rejection, never feeling enough, constant anxiety, perfectionism. The invitation of Jesus is not fix yourself and come. It's come exhausted. And I think another verse that reminds me of that is the verse where it says that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. That's Psalm 34:18. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. This verse doesn't say God is near to the people who have it all together. He's near to the brokenhearted. Sometimes healing begins not when we become strong enough, but when we're finally honest enough. And so I think Jesus welcomes the most when we are brokenhearted and exhausted. And maybe we've been carrying too many burdens that we didn't even know were on our shoulders because we were taught to carry them on our shoulders since we were a little kid, like whatever that looks like. But it's almost like that's what Jesus invites, like that's what he actually prefers. God is near not to the ones who have it all together, but to the brokenhearted, the ones who are crushed in Spirit, the ones who are carrying burdens that they probably should have never been carrying. And Jesus's response to that is, actually, I want to be near to that. I want to be close to that. I want to be right next to you in that. And actually, while I'm at it, I would love to take those burdens from you and for you to take on my yoke. Because my yoke is easy and light. And so, yeah, I think that our initial instinct is that that would be the version that Jesus would want the least to do with. You know, the version of us that's broken and crushed in spirit and carrying a bunch of things that we either didn't know we were carrying or maybe we know better to not carry, but we still do. And we think that that is a version that would repel Jesus. But from Scripture, it actually looks like that's the very thing that brings him near, is when he sees brokenness, when he sees that we're carrying things we were never designed to carry, he actually runs towards us in those states. It's just interesting. And I think too, like, even when I was talking about the fact that I'll probably have to repent for this thing over and over again, and because I've been operating this way for my entire life, I will probably have to kind of have my mind renewed a lot. I don't think it's just gonna be this one time thing where my mind is just gonna be renewed and I'm gonna. Good is new. And it makes me think of that scripture. It's in Romans, it's Romans 12, 2, where it says, be transformed by the renewal of your mind, which is very huge in the process of healing with Jesus is allowing his Holy Spirit to renew our minds. And I think the only way that he can really renew our minds is by also being willing enough to be humble and say, yeah, God, I need you in this. I repent of this. You're right. Like, I can't keep living this way. But I think renewal typically happens over time. Again, I don't think it's this light switch thing where all of a sudden we're delivered, the blood of Jesus has redeemed us, which obviously it has. There's so much power in the blood of Jesus. But I think what's very true is like transformation just is gradual. And I think the truth is, is just because God is healing you in a certain aspect doesn't mean that you still won't be triggered from time to time. And then there's some healing. I do Believe where now you're actually recovering more quickly than you used to. And so I do believe that, you know, in the process of healing with Jesus, it means that the triggers are far. And what is the saying? Far and less in between. So there's just gonna be less and less. Okay? And I think what could also be really encouraging for anybody who could be relating to what I am going through, but also what we're talking about today is that, you know, when I was talking about the big mountain that I was looking at, and I was like, wow, okay, this feels like a really big thing. It almost seems really intimidating when you see something for the first time and you're like, wow, Jesus, how are we going to do that? Right? But what's encouraging is he also says in Scripture that whatever the Lord starts, he has every intention to bring to completion. Philippians 1:6 actually says, and I am certain that God who began the good work within you will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Or another translation is, he who begins a good work in you will bring it to completion. The same God who started the work intends to finish it in you. And so I think another really cool perspective or something to keep in mind is it's not just healing that is proof of God's faithfulness to us. You know, when he shows us something that he wants us to either grow in or heal in, it's actually in his commitment to stay with us through the entirety of our healing process. It's actually because God is so committed. He doesn't just start the work, he finishes it. Like, if there's anything to know about our God is He will get it done. And sometimes we question that. Sometimes we do. I think sometimes we question whether he's going to finish it or not. You're like, God, have you even started it, actually? Okay, well, if that's true, when are you gonna finish it? You know, like, we really do. We really do question him in that. But the truth is, he is a finisher, okay? He is a God who starts things, but he doesn't start them to just lallyag around and tinker around over here and stall over here and procrastinate over there. Like, that's not our dad. That's not our God. We probably just need to have a little bit more patience. But we have to believe no matter how much time it's taking or maybe how many times we kind of stumble on the way, that God will complete the thing that he started within us. What if my Friends secretly hate me. Something bad will happen if I don't do this. Does God really still love me after what I've done? Do you ever have thoughts like these? I'm talking about unwanted thoughts that play on loop in your mind over and over. They feel urgent, important, and so real that it can make you question everything. Thoughts like that can be signs of ocd, but because OCD is so misunderstood, a lot of people don't even know it can show up that way. And I think too like, if you relate to my story where maybe you didn't grow up knowing a whole lot about Jesus. As I've shared before, my parents did the best that they could to tell me about the goodness of God and who Jesus was. And I do believe because of those seeds that were planted at such a young age, it is why I found my way back to him. So, you know, I love and honor my parents so much for that. I do. I love them so much. But I lived a lot of my life without him. And so I think, you know, the truth is, is that we don't really realize how much our childhood is still speaking to us. You know, and many of our reactions today, we learned years and years and years ago. And that could be again, just to throw out some Examples, but it could be fear of abandonment, people pleasing, hyper independence, fear of conflict, never feeling good enough, constant need for approval. Many of us think that this is just who I am. You know, when you live and grow up and become, you know, your own person and, and you take on these identities that maybe were never meant for you. I think a lot of us do write it off as like, this is just me. What do you mean? I'm just hyper independent. I'm just good at being alone. I'm just really good at getting things done by myself. I think something that's really beautiful but also kind of ouchy is that when Jesus gets a hold of you, he then gently reveals that some things are actually wounds and not personality traits. Like, that's actually not who you are. These are just things that you've been conditioned to know through. Again, it could be family, it could be influences from the world. It could be TV shows, it could be culture. Okay? And I think another thing that's really good to remember is that we can trust Jesus with our sin, but struggle to trust him with our pain. And the reason why I think that's a good point to, to mention in today's episode is just because I think as Christians, we are often taught to confess sin. Right? Like I even told you guys at the beginning of this episode, I was like, yeah, and I was repenting on my face before this. Like, I had to let the Lord know that I was so sorry for believing the things I've been believing my entire life, you know, about my whatever. And so that's not a secret. But I think we're not always taught how to bring Jesus our hurt, you know, and so I think a lot of times we bring him what we've done wrong. But I think real healing often begins when we stop minimizing our pain. Because, yeah, I think it's easy to be like, oh, Jesus, I'm so sorry. I repent of these beliefs. I repent of this belief system I've been operating in that has not been true about myself and who you've created me to be or, you know, my relationships or whatever. Sometimes we don't admit or just simply bring Jesus the pain of that too. And I don't know if that's like a fear of admitting that if we're wounded, it means that we're weak. I think that there could be a multitude of reasons of why we don't do that. If, you know, if you're somebody who relates to that, if you don't do that as much With Jesus, where it's like, you're quick to be like, gosh, Lord, I'm so sorry. But you're not as quick to admit that you're weak because you are wounded and you're in pain because of something. Or maybe, you know, acknowledging a wound means that you're a victim and you don't want to be somebody who's, like, stuck in that, like, victim mentality. Right. But I think the truth is, is that the things that you've been avoiding talking about for years, whatever wounds that could be, or memories or whatever, they don't overwhelm Jesus and they never will because he was there. He was there then, he's with you now. And there's just nothing that could actually ever overwhelm God. He's God. Everything that we're looking at, he has created. That's an overwhelming concept to even. We can't. If anyone's going to get overwhelmed, it's a human being, but it's not God. He already knows every detail. And actually, what's really epic about God is he probably knows even more details than you do. Nothing ever surprises God. Nothing disqualifies you. And the invitation to bring any wounds to Jesus is not to clean yourself up first. Again, like, we can't feel like acknowledging these wounds or being wounded means that you're weak and you gotta, like, fix it up before you go to him. It's at. The invitation is simply to bring it to him because he is the healer. Jesus said it once upon a time. It came right out of his own mouth where he said, I don't remember who he was talking to, but I think it was the past Pharisees or, you know, the religious leaders at the time who were accusing him of hanging out with people he shouldn't have been hanging out with. They were like, I heard that you were over at this person's house. Or like, you had these people over for dinner. What the heck is that about? And they were like, don't you know that those people are, like, dirty and prostitutes and bad people? And Jesus was like, well, or. Or maybe it was like when he was healing people on the Sabbath or something. I can't remember what scenario it was. But he was like, wounded people need a hospital. And I think that was his way of being like, I am the hospital. It is the people who are wounded and broken and hurt and are carrying things they should never have been carrying. And now they're bruised and exhausted, like, yeah, no kidding. It's actually those people that need to be Hospitalized, it's the sick who need a hospital.
B
Right?
C
Here I am. And so we need to believe that that's who he still is. Of course. And so if there's any way that you feel wounded or broken or you feel like you need to bandage yourself up in a way that is a tactic of the enemy, and it's just not real because it's. Jesus wants to heal you. He is the hospital. He's the healer. He is the one who redeems our lives and the stories of our lives, and he redeems our minds, and He. He is the one who can truly renew our minds. And there's a verse also. I want to read this to you guys. Oh, this one's good. Ezekiel 36:26. He says, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. He doesn't just simply improve an old heart, but he gives a new one. Okay, that wasn't the one I wanted to tell you about, though. I wanted to tell you. Psalm 147,3 says that he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. I think that this verse is obviously very simple, but so beautiful. He doesn't just heal the brokenhearted, but he binds them up. And when you think about binding up a wound, okay, whether that's stitches or, okay, let's say you got a deep cut when someone breaks a bone. Even that. Like, even if a bone is broken, the doctor just doesn't touch it and walk away. There is setting, wrapping, protecting, healing, and strengthening, right? You have to put a cast on it. But there's a process of binding. Jesus really is the one stop shop for that. Like, he will heal. He will heal the wound. He will also bind it up. But even in. In when you think about the action of binding a wound, there is time where that wound needs to heal, where that bone needs to be mended back together, bound back together. And so it is Jesus who will be healing you and continue to heal you through the process of that. But I think we also just have to remember to have grace for ourselves through the healing process. I will have to have grace for myself through this process of healing of what. What I'm about to walk through. Because the truth is, I think that when we're uncomfortable and we're feeling pain and we bring it to the feet of Jesus, I think because we. We. We don't ever want to keep feeling that pain. We're like, okay, God, like, I'm healed, right? I'm like, I'm immediately delivered. And like, no more. I do believe that God is capable of that. I do. But I think when it comes to deep wounds or, or wounds that maybe we've been carrying for the entirety of our lives, some boo boos like that will probably take time with Jesus and he will continue to heal you. But I just think a lot of us, because of the discomfort, obviously we want Jesus to remove the pain immediately. While Jesus actually is often committed to healing us deeply over a period of time. And so I think that goes right back to what we said as well, where it's like, it's, it's actually the way that God is committed to our healing that testifies to his faithfulness. It's not even just the healing itself, but it's like how committed he is to walk through every step of it with us. And I think that if there are wounds that were afflicted on us, things that we've learned growing up, I think that that is like the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Obviously, if there is a wound, oh, this is good. Thank you, Holy Spirit. If there is a wound that was, you know, done to you by somebody else, let's say it's, you know, your parents or friends around you, okay? And you're at a very impressionable age. You're young, you're a kid, you didn't know any better, but the boo boo is still there, okay? They cut you deep. I believe that wounds are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria because the bacteria is the enemy, it's the demonic. And I think that when wounds happen to us throughout our life, it is the perfect opportunity for the enemy to breed lies, AKA the bacteria, until it's festering and gross. And then, I don't know. I think sometimes we kind of just learn to live with it and we're like, I don't know, it's just been there. Yeah, that's gross. And it hurts sometimes, but I just, I've kind of gotten used to it actually. Like the pain of it. I don't really feel it as much. And I've kind of gone numb in this area. Yeah, probably it's gross, but honestly, I don't even see it anymore. It's been there for so long. Right. But I do think that, like, even in the fact that we didn't ask for the wound, the enemy loves it because he can breed whatever lies and half truths to make us believe that. I don't know, this is normal or it's just become your normal, you know, Again, you're like, I don't know. Yeah, it's weird, but actually, I don't even think it's that weird anymore. I just kind of like it's just a part of me. I don't know, just kind of there. I mean, sometimes it hurts. Like, sometimes I feel like I get triggered by it. But for the most part, you know, I think that's a lie of the enemy to get us to never acknowledge the wound that, again, was never our own doing. Like, just some examples of what those wounds could look like is like, this wound could simply just be, I was abandoned. But then the festering bacteria lie that then lives in that. That the enemy comes in, swoops in, and like plants in there, is that you're unlovable. The cut or the wound could be I was criticized. But then he comes in and manipulates and says, I'll never be enough. So then that's. That's what it is. I was rejected, becomes I have to earn love. This wound could be I was betrayed. And so now it's turned into, I can't trust anyone anymore. And so I think another beautiful thing that Jesus does, and this is, this will happen in a renewal of our mind, you know, as we allow his Holy Spirit to renew our minds over and over again, is that Jesus doesn't just heal the pain, right? He doesn't just bind up the wounds and bring everything back to restoration, but then he replaces those lies with truth. And I believe that's when the renewal of our minds comes into play, is like he then teaches us how to replace those lies with the truth that was always ours, that was always our identity. That was always how he felt about us, how he's seen us and how he's created us. And I think what's really beautiful, I've. I wrote about this in my book, actually. If that's new for you guys, I. I haven't spoken too much about it because it doesn't come out for another six months. So it's gonna be a while. But I will be able to talk about it very soon. But I do talk about the fact that, you know, when Jesus comes in and starts healing parts of us, it's not that. I mean, granted, yes, Scripture does say, like, we are a new creation through Christ. Absolutely. But I think he changes us without erasing us. And so I think even in the healing with Jesus is. It's not that we're becoming someone else. Healing is actually becoming who God had always intended you to be. Like, this is how he saw you from the very beginning. Beneath the wounds, fear, defenses, and Coping mechanisms is the person God always knew. So the closer that we get to Jesus, the more we become our truest selves. But the way to become our truest selves is to allow him to heal us and to face some really ugly monsters under our bed or skeletons in our closet that maybe again, were never put there by ourselves. Somebody else maybe put them there. But becoming closer to Jesus, like, this is actually, this is the process of it. What I'm going through right now is actually just a result of becoming closer to Jesus, which is beautiful. It's amazing. It means that there's freedom on the other end. But yeah, I mean, if we want to become our truest selves, if we've been praying the prayers of, like, God, ah, just continue to make me the best version of myself. Well, the best version of yourself might even be a version that you have never met before, because you have never known to operate that way. And you've been taking on things that were actually never a part of who God created you to be. And there's no shame in that. There's no condemnation in that. But there's beauty in the gift of repentance and allowing the Lord to renew our minds and letting His Holy Spirit give us sight to things that we've never seen. And I think that's also why it's so important to be connected to the body of Christ and to be in community. The very reason I'm even able to see what I've seen is because of the body of Christ. It's because actually, yes, through His Holy Spirit, but through other people. They've been like, ow, we gotta acknowledge this. Never in my life, never in my life in all 31 years of my life. And so that's the other part of this is like, it's not just simply going to be walking with His Holy Spirit, it's gonna be walking with His Holy Spirit and then other people who carry his spirit that can point those things out. Because we all have blind spots and there are, there are things that we just do because we've just. That's what we've always known. And if we're not connected with people in the body deeply, where they can see every part of you, you may never see those blind spots. And it's not that I don't believe that the Holy Spirit alone can deliver us from things and help us see things. Yes, I believe the Holy Spirit has done that for me in my life time and time again. But it is so important to make sure that you are staying connected to the vine and connected to the body of Jesus and surrounding yourself with people who are filled with the Holy Spirit. And that is also your job for them too. Like that, that's. That's our job together as a family, is to be able to see each other's blind spots and to point them out with love and encourage them through Jesus to. To receive healing in that way. Does that make sense? Did any of this episode make sense? I'm so sorry if it felt a little jumpy. I'm gonna be honest. I wasn't prepared for it, but I'm grateful for it. And I thank Jesus for showing up today, guys. Thank you for being here today. I'm so proud of you guys. I love you dearly, and I hope you guys have a beautiful weekend. I'll see you next week. I'll see you same time, same place next week. But before we go, can we actually do something really cool today? Can we show somebody how cool Jesus is? Can we walk more like him, talk more like him, Be more like Jesus today? I love y'. All. Happy Friday, and I will see you next week. Bye.

Episode Title: Deep Healing Takes Time
Host: Ally Yost
Date: June 5, 2026
In this vulnerable and heartfelt episode, Ally Yost dives deep into the topic of healing—particularly the kind that requires time, patience, and the continual presence of Jesus. She shares her own journey with raw honesty, moving through moments of real pain, recent revelations, and the hope she finds through her faith. Using scripture, personal experience, and encouragement, Ally invites listeners to approach their own wounds with both gentleness and the expectation that Christ is committed to healing us fully, not just quickly.
Feeling Exposed & Vulnerable
Ally opens up about her fresh emotional struggles, underscoring the episode’s authenticity and her commitment to sharing even when she feels “weepy” and “swollen-eyed.”
“This is just another part of my story with Jesus...I am looking forward to the day I am fully healed from this and can testify to the goodness of Jesus.” (03:03)
Recent Revelation:
She discusses a newly realized area of her heart and identity that needs healing—a pattern she’s lived with for 31 years and is only now seeing clearly. Ally compares the process to “looking at the top of a really, really big mountain,” confessing to feeling “behind” and “immature,” but ultimately hopeful for freedom.
“I feel like I'm, like, learning how to ride my bike...for the first time at the age of 31. And that's fine. It's possible. But I'm like, literally, I have training wheels at the age of 31.” (06:21)
Faith, Community, and Prayer
Ally shares her faith that, through Christ, healing is possible and requests prayer from her community, offering to pray for listeners in return. She stresses the mutual support found in Christian community.
Christ as Healer—Not Instant, but Committed
Key scriptures are introduced to frame the reality that true transformation is gradual:
Matthew 11:28–30: “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest…”
Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Romans 12:2: “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”
Philippians 1:6: “He who begins a good work in you will bring it to completion.”
Memorable quote:
“Sometimes healing begins not when we become strong enough, but when we're finally honest enough.” (27:50)
Therapy with Jesus at the Center
Ally shares her return to therapy and the importance of integrating professional care and spiritual guidance, particularly when the therapist shares her faith.
Repentance for Old Beliefs
Ally emphasizes repenting for living out of lies or broken patterns—even if they originated in childhood or out of our control, noting it’s a continual, not one-time, process.
“I think there's such power in repentance...Because that's a time for you to come out of agreement with a lot of those things and it's not going to be a one and done thing.” (17:45)
Grace for the Process
She encourages listeners to be gentle with themselves, understanding that old, deep wounds (especially those carried from childhood) don’t heal overnight, and that triggers may lessen over time.
Jesus Carries Our Pain and Sin
While most Christians are taught to bring their sin to Jesus, Ally stresses the importance of also bringing him our hurt:
“We can trust Jesus with our sin, but struggle to trust him with our pain...Real healing often begins when we stop minimizing our pain.” (32:30)
Blind Spots and Community
Part of deep healing comes from allowing trusted, Spirit-filled people to lovingly point out our blind spots—parts of ourselves and our pain we may never see alone.
Jesus as the Hospital
Ally reflects on Jesus’ words about coming for “the sick, not the healthy,” making the case that admitting wounds is not weakness but an invitation for Christ to do what only He can do.
“Wounded people need a hospital...I am the hospital.” (36:05)
Biblical Images of Restoration
Replacing Lies with Truth
Ally describes how wounding leads to space for lies of the enemy (e.g. “I was abandoned” becomes “I am unlovable”), but Jesus’s healing involves not only binding up wounds but replacing lies with His truth.
On feeling exposed:
“When is Ally not [crying]?...But that is definitely how I’m feeling today, but also so incredibly excited and grateful for today and for whatever Jesus has planned.” (01:03)
On describing healing:
“The invitation of Jesus is not ‘fix yourself and come.’ It’s ‘come exhausted.’” (27:40)
On the ongoing process:
“Transformation just is gradual...the truth is, just because God is healing you in a certain aspect doesn’t mean you won’t be triggered from time to time. But now you’re actually recovering more quickly than you used to.” (29:00)
On wounds and lies:
“Wounds happen to us throughout our life, and it is the perfect opportunity for the enemy to breed lies, aka, the bacteria, until it’s festering and gross...I was abandoned, becomes ‘I’m unlovable.’” (41:15)
On community:
“If we’re not connected with people in the body deeply, where they can see every part of you, you may never see those blind spots...It is so important to be connected to the vine and connected to the body of Jesus.” (46:23)
“Before we go, can we actually do something really cool today? Can we show somebody how cool Jesus is? Can we walk more like him, talk more like him, be more like Jesus today?” (47:40)
Host’s Closing Words:
“I’m so proud of you guys. I love you dearly, and I hope you guys have a beautiful weekend. I will see you next week.” (47:50)
