Today in Current Events from a Christian Perspective:
Last weekend there was a massive, high profile prayer gathering on the National mall in Washington DC which was called "Rededicate 250 - A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving." This was organized as part of the celebration leading up to the nation's 250th anniversary.
The event transformed a section of the National Mall into an expansive, evangelical-style worship service.
The day-long, eight-hour event was organized around three primary "pillars":
1. God's Providence: Reflecting on the role of faith throughout America's 250-year history.
2. Personal Testimonies: Sharing stories of personal and communal healing.
3. Rededication: Coming together in gratitude and asking for God's continued guidance for the next 250 years, specifically framing America as "One Nation Under God."
