Pastors, Easter is here. I want to help you plan this weekend service as well as give you some strategy to create some momentum as we enter into this next season. I think you're going to love it. All right, so I want to talk about Easter Sunday, Easter weekend, as we enter into this massive weekend. I hope you're excited, I hope you're expectant, I hope you're prayed up for what is no doubt going to be a powerful day for you, for your church, and for hopefully all that enter into your building. We're about to have kind of a final stretch in the Natural. I'm not talking about supernatural, I'm not talking about revival. I'm not talking about your churches in a great season. I'm talking about in the Natural. We're about to enter an awesome season that can be momentum. From Easter to. To Mother's Day, you're going to have two of the highest attended weekends in a very short period of time. And I hope you are thinking about how you can build some momentum some mo into this next season. You're going to have Easter Sunday, which is going to be huge. You're going to have Mother's Day, which is going to be huge. You're going to have a few weeks in between, and then again in the natural. Then what most churches see is a pretty steep decline, kind of a flat season from Mother's Day into Father's Day. You have some other holidays in there. You have graduations. People are going, they're traveling, they're doing their thing. But you're about to have this month that I believe we can capitalize on, that we can take something in the Natural and do something with it. It's kind of like January momentum. It's kind of like other seasons of our life into the fall as people are getting back into church. We have this little window right now that we can kind of jump on and capitalize on and really hopefully see our church grow. And I want to say that one of the things about City Light, as we've grown over these last eight years, we have capitalized especially on Christmas, on Easter and on Mother's Day. These have become big moments for us that have grown our church. We have other ones. We go big on Father's Day. We have a big weekend called First Responders Weekend, which is a big moment going into Fourth of July. And that becomes another big moment for us. We have some other things, but I'm just saying this is a moment where we can really see some growth. But I want to talk to you as you're preparing for the weekend and remind you of second Timothy, chapter four, verse five. Do the work of the evangelist. Do the work of an evangelist. Do the work of an evangelist. This is a moment, Pastor, to do the work of an evangelist. Remember Paul, an apostle, writes to Timothy, a pastor, and he says, pastor Timothy, don't forget. Sometimes you have to into evangelist mode, soul winning mode, preaching mode, proclamation mode. A different gift that by the grace of God, because the Bible's telling us we can't, we can enter into uncertain moments. And this is one of those moments that you have to kind of leave pastor mode and enter into the work of the evangelist. This is not a time to, you know, continue on your 17 week series on relationships. This is not a time to, you know, teach about financial stewardship. This is a moment to win souls. And I hope you're thinking that way. And so I want to give you three little thoughts. And the first is preach a clear sermon. Have a clear sermon. Preach the gospel. John 3:16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever would believe in him would not perish but have everlasting life. Call people to believe in Jesus, to trust in Jesus. Call people to be born again. Preach the gospel. Who God is, what God has done in Christ, who. What is our response to that? That. That when man could not get to God. This is radically different than any other religious philosophy. When man could not get to God, God came to man. When, when we could not find God, God found us. When we could not call on his name, he called our name. Lazarus, come forth. Preach that message. Preach the message of Jesus. God in Christ, reconciling us to himself. Preach the gospel. Preach it clear. Preach it short. Preach it in 20 minutes, but preach it with power. Preach it with conviction. Preach the gospel. I love what TF Tenney said. Preach like your child is on the last row giving God one more shot. Preach that way. Preach like your child is on the last row giving God one more shot. Go sit in your auditorium all week, this week and just think and just pray and just ask God to give you a supernatural burden. Remember in Ezekiel, chapter three, God said, Ezekiel, before you prophesy, go sit where the people sit. Go, just go get in a seat and realize someone's going to sit there with cancer. Someone's going to sit there going through a divorce. Someone's going to sit there addicted to drugs or alcohol. Someone's going to sit there worried about their kids. Someone's going to sit there Believing God for a job. Someone's going to be sitting there just covered in shame and condemnation. Go sit where they sit. And then this Sunday, let it rip and win souls. So have a clear message. Number two. Have a clear response to me. That's a call to baptism this weekend. You should call people to water baptism and say, hey, this coming week or on this date or today, depending on how you do it, you can be water baptized. I love what acts. I think It's Acts chapter 20 says. What are you waiting for? Arise and be baptized. For the remission of sins. Call those who are giving their life to Christ or those who have recently given their life to Christ or those who haven't been to church in a long time. Whatever it is, call them to water baptism. Make that a massive part of what you've said. Yes to Jesus. Now here's your first act of obedience. Arise and be baptized. Call people to baptism. Have a clear response where they can come back and be back. Hey, on April, whatever. Hey, on May, whatever. Hey, on next Sunday, whatever that is for you, put it up on the screen. Anything you announce needs to be backed up with a visual picture. Be baptized. Have a clear response and a call to baptism. And then here's. Here's number three. Have a clear invite back. Hey, we would love to see you next week. We're starting a brand new series on. Hey, next week. We have services at 9 and 11. Hey, I'll be preaching next Sunday. I'd love to see you in church. Have a clear invite back and give them to something. Give them something to come back to. So we have baptisms, I would say have a new series ready to go. Something that's going to speak to their heart. Hey, next week I'm going to be talking about xyz. Have it ready. We would. Man, I'd be so honored if you'd come back. If you're looking for a church, we would love to be your church. Hey, if you're looking for a community of faith, hey, if you're looking to get connected, hey, maybe you never thought about church before, but you're here because a friend. I would love to be your pastor. Call people back. So we're going to have a clear sermon. We're going to have a clear response. We're going to have a clear invite back and we're calling people into the church. We're doing the work of an evangelist. Treat everyone in that room like they're strangers, like they don't know you, like they don't trust you. And Try to persuade them to Jesus and persuade them into the life of this church. Call them into that. Call them. Be out in the lobbies, shaking hands, meeting people, and try to create a service where new people feel welcome. And I want to say this about, you know, new people and. Well, we're not. We're not changing our sermon. We're not changing our message. If it's Easter, blah, blah, blah. Okay, I get that. But whatever. You've got to do what you want to do. Here's what I would say. Make sure that your songs this week are all about Jesus. I hope that's already happening, but make sure this week they're all about Jesus. Death, burial, resurrection. All about praise, all about worship. This is not a weekend to sing about Holy Spirit come and fire of God, and we need a fresh wind. That's not the weekend to do that. Okay. Make sure everything is proclamation. Make sure you have clear moments of communication throughout the service. Welcomes. Hey, we're so glad you're here. My name is. You better be introducing yourself at all the service. Hi, my name is Jabin Chavez, and along with my wife and our amazing team, we're just so honored you're here today. I know you could have been anywhere today. Thank you for taking time out of your Easter weekend to be here. Make sure that you're doing that. Make sure that you're giving clear. This is a weekend for extra ushers. Oh, man, we had all kinds of people. Did you have extra ushers? Did you have extra greeters? Did you extra safety? Did you have extra kids? This is a time think, think, think. And you're watching this. Maybe it's Wednesday right before Easter. You're going, oh, my God. I'm already behind the. I'm already behind. Okay, we'll go get ahead right now. Call an all call. Get everybody you can serving and involved and have the most amazing weekend ever. Why? So that people come back. We leave Easter going. Man, the place was packed. Hallelujah. Was the service good? Were the people communicated to. Did they hear the gospel? Were they given a clear response? And were they given a clear invitation back? I'm believing for a supernatural Easter for you. I'm believing you're going to double this weekend. That's what we're believing God for. Our average attendance right now is just a little over 5,000 on a weekend, and we're believing for 10,000 people. I'm just believing big. I hope you're believing big. I hope you're excited, and I hope you have the most amazing Easter ever. I love you so much. Hey, let me just remind all the senior pastors, we've got Pastors roundtable coming up November 2 and 3.
