As Advent approaches, we discuss a primary way we can be a blessing to others in this season. Be encouraged, oh ye saints of the Lord! Article Quoted: https://theopolisinstitute.com/entitled-children/

We hold to many assumptions about what where things are going and how the end comes. Ideas like a secret rapture, 7-year tribulation, Christians becoming fewer and fewer, being the last generation, etc. Tyler challenges the classes' assumptions and puts forward a view of the progress of history which has deep roots in the church and comes from the authors of Scripture: an optimistic eschatology.

Circling back to our The Kingdom-Builder series to ask about what our emphasis is, and, perhaps should be, upon. Each one of us naturally prioritizes either the community of the church or its preaching. We talk about the implications of this dichotomy and recommend how we can grow in our attitudes and actions to becoming productive citizens of God's City. Critical Theory and Intersectionality have become common terms in our modern lexicon and its ideas have spread into the Church. What is all this? How should it influence the way I interpret the Bible and understand my neighbour? Our Sunday School class considers the million-dollar question: Is this movement/philosophy an idea or a worldview? Part 3 of the Contemporary Issues series.

Finishing our short series on reforming worship. Today we discuss a few positive reforms to our liturgy which would align us with what is objectively happening - covenant renewal. Some of the changes, we believe, would greatly uplift our spiritual and emotional maturity, and even lead to fewer pastoral counseling situations to develop. In the end, when we worship rightly, we will be equipped to point our nation rightly. The topic of educating children as Christians is a major one these days, especially as our culture at large continually lurches down a radically secular and intolerant direction. What used to be three solid options of schooling for Christian children, no longer seems to be the case. Who is primarily responsible for educating our children? Which schooling option is best? Does it ultimately matter? These are some of the questions explored in this lecture. Lots of class engagement and comments in this one.

The rise of Christian Nationalism requires us to give some much-needed caution: We must reform our worship if we want any kind of sustainable righteous social ethic. This second session finishes the overview of modern deficiencies in worship and then asks a crucial question: What happens in worship? What are we there for? What we learn is both surprising and comforting - something objectively happens when we worship.

This sermon was preached at on October 9, 2022, at Campbell Baptist Church, Windsor, ON.

Began a mini-series on some of the biggest issues in our society today, as voted on by the Sunday School class. We talk about whether Christians may, and when it is proper to, engage in civil disobedience, including riots, protests, and revolution. Behind all this is the classic reformed doctrine of the lesser magistrate.

Christian Nationalism is a hot-button issue these days. What is it? Is it desirable? The Reformation of Worship, I argue, is a necessary preliminary to any effective Christian Nationalist ideal. So what is worship supposed to be? How does it need reforming? What is the connection of these two ideas?
