On this special day we look at the book of Proverbs and see what the wise king has to say about parenting and mothers. This was the first Mothers Day that we had the opportunity to celebrate at City on a Hill! We are glad you can join us online and tune in.

Bill Immel has been serving the greater part of his life as a Licensed Professional Counselor working with families, children and married couples. He has a great wealth of information and experience that I believer will help all of us who are attending the marriage conference on May 16th - 17th. I have spent nearly 10 years now working inside the church. In doing so I have worked with married couples, divorcee's, sexual assault victims and more. I can tell you that the ability to preform as a godly counselor does not come from within, but from the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and Jesus. Some men truly seem more empower and uniquely gifted for this role, Bill is one of those guys. This Sunday we move from our Resurrection Series towards the book of 1 Corinthians. Before we dive into a church that has a great deal to say about the church and Christian living, we wanted to create some ground work in defining the church and some of the different roles that exist inside the church. For the next five week we will be answering questions like "What is a church, who leads a church, what is church discipline, what is a missional church, what are communion and baptism?" The question regarding biblical church is important because millions of Christians live their lives out in churches. Some would be surprised to learn that many of the organization that they spend their lives in may not actually be a church.

As we are preparing for the "We Are One" marriage conference taking place on May 16th - 17th here in Statesboro at the Pittman Park United Methodist Church we sat down with one of our keynote speakers, Robert Wagner. I am extremely honored that I have gotten the chance to sit down and get to know Robert and I am really looking forward to further developing a friendship with him and his church. Robert serves as the Associate Pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Statesboro GA, where he wear multiples hats. He is a husband, a father to two teenagers, and a graduate of Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia PN. Not only did I get the chance to sit down and talk with Robert and learn his past, his transition from being a chemical engineer to pastoral ministry and some of his thoughts on marriage, but I also got a sneak peek at what he is planning on sharing the the "We Are One" Conference and it some seriously great stuff. I must admit that after talking with Dave and Robert that I am more excited to sit in and listen to what is going to be shared that participating in the event myself.
