Discussions, ideas, commentary, interviews, etc., all dealing with ways of finding bits of success throughout life and try to apply it to the areas we need. We all have different forms of success and we all need the tools to help us do just that in our lives. Remember - Success is in the journey, the continual process.

“Send Coach John a message”I came across a gem today that I needed (of course I need it, why else would I connect with it.) When these reminders come across my radar - it’s so important for me to grab them, use them, and share them. This is from Coach the Coaches (@WinningCoaches ) and the treasure they shared is this: “Let me give so much time to the improvement of myself that I shall have no time to criticize others.” – John Wooden. Of course it is from one of the greatest teachers of all time. This gets me fired up to keep looking for the gems I try and find every day to keep getting better and to stop wasting my time judging others, criticizing, condemning and complaining. Wow.. those things bring me down so much… and I need to look for ways to stop making those choices for sure. How about you? I’d love to hear some of your thoughts and ideas as to how you keep striving to improve yourself for the life that you want to build. I need all the help I can get. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”From my Kindle App comes today’s Daily Thought - it’s from John Maxwell’s “Daily Reader” - short items of encouragement, positive mindset, powerful examples for us to implement into our daily lives. John’s entry for today is all about making the most of our gifts and opportunities. Some very powerful ideas and examples here for sure. Find some connection to not only John Maxwell, but his book, “Daily Reader”, or “25 Ways to Win with People”, but any of his many other powerful and best selling books. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”Found a reminder that I needed to hear and connect with again. It comes from Roy T. Bennett (@InspiringThinkn) and the message is this: “Make a difference in the world by being who you truly are.” The reminder is that each and every day I need to make the choice as to try and continue to be who I truly am. Authenticity is a key ingredient that is missing in much of the world. A big part of that missing key is for me not to have it missing in me and my life. One thing for sure is for me to keep working on improving every day, so that I can be my authentic self and have the best shot at making a positive impact wherever I go. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I connected with a post from Chris Foster (@CoachC_Foster) that served as a big reminder - “That dream was planted in your heart for a reason.” I needed this and I think others need this reminder too!! No matter what is going on in our lives, staying connected to our dream(s), doesn’t mean we have to uproot our lives. We can continue to learn, grow, and find times to work on our dreams and connect that dream (or dreams) into our lives. I tend to get down about some things at times and I forget to keep connected to my dreams. Keep the spark going, no matter what is going on in my life. Look deep inside yourselves my friends, find that connection and keep it going!! Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I found a great post that to me, connected to Fathers Day (and every day with people in our lives) and it comes from Bob Starkey (@CoachBobStarkey): “The older I get, the smarter my father seems to get.” ~ Tim Russert. I found this totally true for not only my dad and the lessons and advice given to me throughout my lifetime - but to so many others too. My mom, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, etc., along with so many other key people in my life fit into this too. The other thing that hit me (as I recorded this in the mobile studio near an airport), is that we need to remember that we also are that person to others that offers examples and advice for living our best lives. Another reason for us to keep trying to be our best and to keep investing in ourselves so that we can give our best to ourselves and to others. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I found a great thought - a short episode today to share this from Kylie Riordan (@mindfulheal) & this reminder: “Some of your favorite days haven’t even happened yet and that’s the magic of being alive.” ~ (@mindfulheal). This got me fired up to realize that I still have better days ahead of me. My new favorite day is still coming and then there will be another one, and so on. I love that mindset to keep looking ahead for the next best day! Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I shared a very emotional story in today’s episode from our weekend trip to Northern Michigan. We saw a dog tied up on the side of a major expressway. Someone abandoned the poor thing. I got on my phone right away and called 911 to report this and they said they would send someone out right away to help the dog. I sure hope the dog is ok. I was in tears and I still have not shaken the memory from my mind and heart. It got me thinking about how much we need to treat animals / ourselves / others, so much better than we really do. Humans have shown throughout history that we don’t do this very well. This incident reminded me personally that I need to keep striving to get better and be better. Better for myself, my wife, family, friends, others, and this includes our dog and other pets. Someone’s heartless, gutless and inhuman choice to leave their dog out there like that, has made a BIG impact on me to keep striving to be better. I hope this helps you do the same. “Send Coach John a message”I found something that got me thinking, reflecting, smiling and yes, having a few tears. It came from liminal (@Liminal1988) where they shared this post: “A happy life doesn't consist of just happy moments, it is a mixture of both the happy and the sad. There will be good times - when you laugh with your friends until your cheeks are read and your stomach hurts, trips to the park and the zoo, shopping and late-night ice-cream runs, and private jokes and notes passed in class, and every little prank that you play. There will be long lazy days spent at the beach as you dip into the ocean just as the sun sets, and holidays to countries with tender sand and warmth in the air, and nights you spend indoors with your family wrapped around you and the comforting days that you spend alone. ~ Ruby Dhal, (author of The Path to Self-love.) Each item in this post got me thinking about many things throughout my life. In fact when I typed this out, I got to thinking about other things too. So many things reminded me that I have had a happy life so far AND I plan to choose to continue to have more of a happy life too as I get older. I sincerely hope this helps you to connect with having a happy life too. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”I found an amazingly short and simple item that I know I need to add to my to do list - maybe you do too. It comes from The Motivational Quotes (@MQUOTESLIFE) and the to-do item is this: “Sometimes rest is the most productive thing you can do.” One reason I see this as a good thing is that I’m getting older and so I can justify it a bit more. But I’m also seeing the truth and importance of this truth too. To get through the tough moments that life can throw at us nowadays, really finding the time to rest and recharge is becoming more of a necessity instead of something to say “oh I wish I could rest and recharge”. By resting, recharging, clearing our head, feeling better, recovering, etc., is that we can be better to go back and deal with things a bit later. Remember, when we are not at our best - we can’t be our best for others. Thanks for listening. “Send Coach John a message”Found a very spot-on post here for all of us to connect with. It comes from Inspiration & More (@LifeWithJohn) where this is the gold nugget he shared: “The world is changed by your example not by your opinion. - Paul Coelho ~ Talking the talk isn’t enough………Walk the Walk!” Way too many of us simply do too much talking (yes.. That is me you see standing up holding my hand up… guilty for sure on this one), instead of putting more action out there into the world. Social media is dominated I think with so many “keyboard warriors” who spew thoughts and opinions and then they are actually “walking a totally different walk.” The hidden agenda by so many people is for so many other reasons than simply to try and live a good life and help others. I know for one I need to keep walking my correct walk a bit more. I’m not going to put too many of my opinions out there telling others how to do their walk… other than encouraging them to actually “walk their walk.” Thanks for listening.
