I admit that no amount of MATERIAL WEALTH will satisfy my soul.The MORE we have, the LESS we may think we need God. The LESS we have, the EASIER it can be to acknowledge our need for God.Matthew 19:23-24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”2. Mark 5:21-42 We live life FORWARD, but we understand life BACKWARDS.James 1:2-4 NIV Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.It is my confidence in the OUTCOME that helps me experience joy and peace in my UNCERTAINTY.Anchor #1: Your PROBLEM is Jesus’ PRIORITY.Mark 5:23-24 pleading fervently with him. “My little daughter is dying,” he said. “Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live.” Jesus went with him, and all the people followed, crowding around him.DESPERATION becomes the doorway for divine INTERVENTION.Your problem may be TOO BIG for you, but it is not TOO SMALL or COMPLICATED for Him.Anchor #2: God’s DELAY doesn’t equal God’s DENIAL.Faith is not just trusting God, faith is trusting God’s timing.2 Peter 3:8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”—Corrie Ten BoomAnchor #3: In dealing with our CONCERNS, Jesus will usually address our COMMUNITY.Mark 5:35-37 While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.” But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” Then Jesus stopped the crowd and wouldn’t let anyone go with him except Peter, James, and John (the brother of James).Not everybody gets ACCESS to the room where God is BUILDING your faith.Some people are meant to celebrate the miracle AFTER IT HAPPENS, but they are not meant to stand in the room WHILE IT HAPPENS.Anchor #4: The coming PURPOSE is worth the current PAIN.Mark 5:41-42 Holding her hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, get up!” And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed.God does not waste PAIN, it always has a PURPOSE.2 Corinthians 4:16-17 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus Himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing Him. They stood still, their faces downcast.DISCOURAGEMENT is dissatisfaction with the past, distaste for the present, and distrust of the future.DISCOURAGEMENT is often the gap between EXPECTATION and REALITY.1. Remember God’s PROMISES.Luke 24:18-21 One of them, named Cleopas, asked Him, 'Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?' 'What things?' He asked. 'About Jesus of Nazareth,' they replied. 'He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed Him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified Him; but we had hoped that He was the one who was going to redeem Israel. Recognize Jesus' PRESENCE.Do not be so consumed with what is happening TO YOU that you miss who is WITH YOU.Luke 24:28-29 As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if He were going farther. But they urged Him strongly, 'Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.' So He went in to stay with them.Revelation 3:20 'Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.'3. Respond to God's POWER.Luke 24:31-34 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him, and He disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, 'Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?' They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying, 'It is true! The Lord has risen.'The resurrection is not just an EVENT to celebrate; it is a MIRACLE to experience.Real CHANGE begins when you RESPOND.
