"Treat this one with the respect it deserves, gentlemen." Charles H. Baker'scontains many a refreshing beverage, but the Remember the Maine is one for the ages. This month, Nate shares with us a drink from one of his favourite cocktail books, and he'll give a dramatic reading while he's at it.

This month Nate teaches us how to make the classic Old Fashioned, which is the grandfther of all cocktails. According to Etymonline, the word cocktail dates from 1806 when Antoine Pechaud (of Pechaud's Bitters fame) served alcohol, water, and bitters concocations to his friends in an egg cup (in French,). We won't be using an egg cup, but we will be making history.

In this, the first installment of Cocktail Kitchen, Nate teaches us how to make his "Red and White Thing," the Brunswick Sour, a delicious dacquiri with a float of red wine.
