y', all, it's Lindsay. I just wanted to hop on here really quick before the episode starts and let you guys know that this was recorded prior to any recent events. So if you're listening and feel like something isn't being addressed, that's simply because of the timing. I'm going to be taking the time that I need to process some of these things and handle it in the right way and I really appreciate you guys giving me that space and I just appreciate your love and support more than you know. It truly means everything to me. I hate gift giving and receiving.
Kale Lowry
Receiving gifts is so weird. What do you Say thank you.
Lindsay Chrisley
This is Coffee Convos with Kale Lowry and Lindsay Chrisley. I really want you to be in your feels.
Kale Lowry
Kale, that does not interest me whatsoever.
Lindsay Chrisley
I feel very attacked by you. A spirited discussion about motherhood, friendship, family, and life in the public eye. I'm just not with the fakery anymore.
Kale Lowry
There's a fakery bakery around here's Kayl and Lindsey rerolling.
Lindsay Chrisley
Good morning, the Coffee Combos podcast. We're having a sleepover.
Kale Lowry
Sleepover. We woke up like this, actually, and we didn't need any glam or hair done because this is how we wake
Lindsay Chrisley
up in the morning, playing with needles. We're having a real life sleepover, actually. That Kale was supposed to have a sleepover with me last night, and she left and never came back.
Kale Lowry
There was a lot going on last night. So unfortunately, I never made it back to the content house. But because Lindsay's leaving tomorrow, there is a high probability that I will sleep over here tonight because she's leaving tomorrow. And we've never had an adult sleepover. And I think it's. We're overdue.
Lindsay Chrisley
So. Remember how I told you that I sometimes, like, lied to get me out of certain situations? You rode the lie that you were sleeping over with us so hard last night that you left your vehicle here.
Kale Lowry
Because it wasn't a lie. And I even told Ike at one point that I was coming back to the content house. That's your true story.
Lindsay Chrisley
It feels like a lie.
Kale Lowry
It does feel like a lie. And honestly, if we have the conversation that we had about you lying about going on the airplane or catching your flight or missing your flight, it wouldn't have seemed like a lie. Right. But because we had that conversation, then it looked like a lie.
Lindsay Chrisley
Okay, so remember when we were in Dallas and I told you about that show that was on TLC called Unexpected?
Kale Lowry
Yeah.
Lindsay Chrisley
With those kids named Bella and Hunter. He was like 12 or 13 years old.
Kale Lowry
Yeah. And that's really, really horrendous.
Lindsay Chrisley
And I think she was like, 15 or whatever. Okay, so I was doom scrolling on tick tock last night and I found this. Tick tock. I'm gonna play the audio. So she thought I was joking when I told her that after you have the baby and they say, you gotta wait six weeks, blah, blah, and I'm like, you might make it a week. And then this morning she was like,
Kale Lowry
you weren't lying, Mom.
Lindsay Chrisley
Like, I'm ready to have sex now. I miss it. And yeah, so they do have protection, but I can't Be in there to be like, make sure it's on. You know, so be smart and make sure it's on.
Kale Lowry
If I would have told My mother at 15 years old, I miss having
Lindsay Chrisley
sex, I'm just ready to do it
Kale Lowry
again, that woman would have beat the living power out of me for real and rightfully so. And for her mom to say, I
Lindsay Chrisley
don't think you'll make it a week.
Kale Lowry
Has anybody talked to her about the
Lindsay Chrisley
health risks of not waiting six weeks
Kale Lowry
like the doctors tell you to do?
Lindsay Chrisley
Whether you have a vaginal birth or
Kale Lowry
a C section, it doesn't matter. That's a major abdominal surgery. It doesn't seem like anybody is, is
Lindsay Chrisley
telling her these things because as soon
Kale Lowry
as they went home, she let him shower with her. So I'm, I'm actually pissed off. Like I'm pissed and I'm gonna tell you why. And I am gonna make it about me. When I think about the fact that I was having sex at 14 years old and I look at my oldest son who's 16, he's a literal baby at 16 years old. My oldest son is a baby to me. I did not have my first orgasm until I was 21 years old with two children. A 15 year old has no business having sex, let alone your mother co signing and allowing this to happen and making it a joke. No. Guess what? If you got pregnant at 15 years old and you're active, guess what? That, that father can come be a parent in front of my face and then he can go back home, across the street or whatever, wherever the he lives. The fact that they are allowing this to continue is disgusting to me and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Lindsay Chrisley
To my knowledge, the boy, his name's Hunter. To my knowledge, he is living in the home with them.
Kale Lowry
Okay, great. Well, guess what?
Lindsay Chrisley
With the baby. And what really makes me upset about this entire story is, you know, you had 16 and pregnant. You were on it. Then you had Teen Mom. A lot of people controversy around the show saying it was glorifying teen pregnancy because at that point you guys were making a decent amount of money.
Kale Lowry
Yeah, because. But when you really break it down, we're exploiting our lives.
Lindsay Chrisley
I'm not debating that.
Kale Lowry
Right, right, right, of course.
Lindsay Chrisley
But then you have a show like TLC unexpected that it's almost like these clips are intended for rage bait.
Kale Lowry
No, I'm, I'm infuriated by that. The fact that a mother to her child is saying, I don't even think you're going to make it a week. Your Daughter doesn't even know why she likes sex. Like she doesn't know why. Because I can guarantee you she's probably not even having a fucking orgasm at 15 years old. I'm disgusted. That is so insane to me. And they all think it's funny. They're just laughing. And honestly, I think TLC should be held responsible for this because this would be glorifying and glamorizing teen pregnancy. That was not what, at least in Teen mom we weren't really talking about. Oh, we love sex so much. That's why we got pregnant. Hahaha. That's what they're saying.
Lindsay Chrisley
That was my whole point that I was getting at that the people who were saying that Teen mom was controversial and whatever. Then what is this show that is
Kale Lowry
giving teen moms a bad name?
Lindsay Chrisley
Exactly. That is exactly what this is doing. But watch this clip.
Kale Lowry
Oh, there's more, there's more.
Lindsay Chrisley
Typically when it comes to dirty daffods, I do push them off on me.
Kale Lowry
Because you've been a mom since bc. It's okay. You know what you're doing.
Lindsay Chrisley
Oh my God, he made me jump. Do you want me to take him and change him?
Kale Lowry
Take him. I can't.
Lindsay Chrisley
No.
Kale Lowry
For where?
Lindsay Chrisley
So the mom handle it. The mom is letting them shower together in the home and she's doing the responsibilities evidently of taking care of this baby.
Kale Lowry
Alessandra just caught me up to speed on some of these things. Okay, so Hunter is dad. He was the 12 year old or 12 or 13 years old.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yep.
Kale Lowry
Hunter's mom claims that Hunter's dad was not involved, but Hunter's dad is now finding out all of these things. Okay, so now my next question is who, what woman is in that video with, with Hunter? That's Bella's.
Lindsay Chrisley
Bella's mom.
Kale Lowry
Bella's mom. Okay, so Bella's mom is essentially enabling them and then potentially to really get pregnant again.
Lindsay Chrisley
And rumor has it, and we're gonna say allegedly that. Well, I don't think this part's alleged that they would go on family vacation to. Remember when we were in Dallas and I told you that they were like sleeping in the same bed, like with the grandma or whatever in the room. It was like either the grandma or the mom and they were going on these vacations sleeping together. Now a baby. And I understand that they have a child together, but that does not negate the fact that they are 15 and 13 years old and they still need to be parented. And TLC is exploiting all of this stuff. The mom evidently thinks that it's okay. They're showering together. She's saying she hopes that they're using protection and they're in that home while she's changing diapers.
Kale Lowry
It's. It's so wild to me when I think about. Because I do try to put myself in this position. Right. Like I, I genuinely feel like I had some level of the same parenting. It was just kind of a free for all and I did what I wanted. When I think about my own children because I'm heavily involved with all of their lives. Elliot is 16, not 15 like Bella, not 13 like Hunter. He's 16. And the last thing on his mind is any type of romantic relationship at this point. Like, he's so focused on his schoolwork and where he's going to go to college and like what he's going to do with his life. It is so hard for me now that I'm out of it and I'm an adult and raising kids of my own to understand why a child would be so sex centered, not wanting to go a week without, like I'm. There's a, there's a mental illness here.
Lindsay Chrisley
Well, allegedly the intention was for the mom and Bella, for Bella to get pregnant and them to be on tv. I feel like because of the success of sixteen and Pregnant and Teen mom and now this type of show being on tlc, that it is incentivizing some of these people to get that quick,
Kale Lowry
easy fame and money and then ratings for the network.
Lindsay Chrisley
Correct.
Kale Lowry

Kale Lowry
I am so. I don't think disgusted is the right. Like, I'm perplexed. I'm concerned. I'm.
Lindsay Chrisley
Health is not child abuse.
Kale Lowry
No, there's. I mean, this is, this is something much, much. It's. I don't know that it's child like neglect. I don't know. I don't think it's. I don't know. There's not a name for it. It's literally like exploitation, I would say. Yeah, it's almost like grooming in a way for the mother to be basically like incentivizing her daughter to do these things. And like. But there's also, there's got to be something. In my opinion, there is something wrong with the mother and the daughter for them to do this. If that is true, like, I, I just, I'm having a hard time just wrapping my head around the entire thing.
Lindsay Chrisley
So I actually ran across another video because I was like deep diving this last night. And this is from Unexpected Insider and it says what Hunter's failed to tell tlc. It says, and this is like a screenshot so you can see it. And it looks like it might be on like some type of forum for tlc. Unexpected.
Kale Lowry
That looks like Instagram, but it Says
Lindsay Chrisley
Hunter has come a long way since the show. We have been in court since he filmed for the show. They were alienating him from his father to try to manipulate him into being on the show by holding his son over his head. Hunter lived with us for years, up until the summer until he got Bella pregnant. Me and his mother had a great relationship. She was in my brother's wedding and we took trips together in the show. She acts like she doesn't know me. Her other son and my son were best friends. Had sleepovers, had him at my house all the time. Not long before the pregnancy, his mother also had to live with us along with her mother. We were so supportive of her and co parented great. We even took family vacations together through the whole pregnancy. Both moms bullied the hell out of me and posted this crap on Facebook about me. His mother went as far as reaching out to my son's dad and trying to start issues between us. They would always invite. They would always invite my husband to events, but make it clear that I was not allowed. I have never done anything to either of these women. They just decided that they did not want me around. I have been his stepmother for nine years and Hunter has always had a room in our home. Our door is always open to him. We had Hunter on our phone plan and when all of this went down, they shut off his phone and got him a new one and blocked us on everything. So you're telling me your arm hairs are standing up because this there.
Kale Lowry
This is not okay. This is. This is not okay. This is not normal. And I, like, I already know that there are going to be certain people that listen to me talking about this and say I'm a hypocrite. But I won't argue until I'm blue in the face that teen mom and 16 and pregnant is nothing like this. There's been nothing like this. I'm not saying that no girls on 16 are pregnant. Maybe intentionally got pregnant to be on 16 and pregnant, but I can tell you, for my season alone, we were already pregnant when 16 and pregnant season one aired. So, like, there was no way for us to have known.
Lindsay Chrisley
Yeah.
Kale Lowry
That there was a show casting. It was just the luck of the draw that we either were scouted or saw something and applied for it. But again, like when 16 and pregnant season one aired, it was, I think, six girls. I was already pregnant and it was like a shot in the dark out of pure desperation to try to get myself to figure out what my next. It was like to buy Me time to figure out what my next move was. Right. Like it wasn't actually about like fame and stuff like this. This sounds like they were looking for a reason to. I am.
Lindsay Chrisley
Well, this woman is saying. She said that they had to fight in court just to see him talking about Hunter without cameras being shoved in our face. We have an 8 year old daughter that we would rather not glorify. Glorify teen pregnancy with. My husband never missed a child support payment even when the who family lived with us. We have always tried our best to do the right by Hunter. Stacy would call every time Hunter would misbehave and want his dad to come and get him and straighten him out. Casey would do anything for his son and the whole cookout scene was absolutely absurd because my husband let them know the night before that he did not feel comfortable filming. Nobody replied to the text or calls until the call was made. They knew my husband wasn't going to go along with getting in the car and filming this part. And they cut out of a lot of the phone conversation. He offered to take Hunter to batting alone and afterwards Bella could come to the cookout and his mother said no. Casey did not want Hunter on the show. Him and his father, him and his father have an amazing relationship since we have gotten custody and Hunter loves being here. I have always had a good relationship with him and he has always been respectful to me.
Kale Lowry
I'm going to be honest based on what I know. And again, this is my opinion. I feel like Hunter is a victim. He is being groomed, he's being used, he's being exploited, he's being manipulated. He will look back on this in 10 years and he will see what hindsight always shows. Hindsight is always 2020 and he will recognize and he will remember certain things that were said to him and done to him and told to him and he will come too.
Lindsay Chrisley
How can you make these types of decisions at 13 years old?
Kale Lowry
You can't.
Lindsay Chrisley
You can't. That's my biggest problem.
Kale Lowry
I didn't at 14. I lost my virginity when I was 14 years old, freshly 14. I did not know what sex was until I was physically having it.
Lindsay Chrisley
You, you've told me that multiple times.
Kale Lowry
My story has never changed. So at the point that you're essentially incentivizing your daughter to go get pregnant and then she had to then do some sort something to get him to want to have sex. If it wasn't him initially, I mean, I think I know enough. I have a 12 year old, you have a 13 year old and I think I know enough 12 year olds that my kids plays play with. I don't think any of them, I don't think any of them are thinking about that thing. I'm. They're just then probably starting to go through the things of puberty. Right?
Lindsay Chrisley
Like the early phases of puberty. I know that kids like all reach it at a different age. I'm not necessarily dealing with it in
Kale Lowry
my house, I'm not dealing with it at my house.
Lindsay Chrisley
Does, doesn't mean that somebody else is, somebody else isn't. But with that being said, can you imagine you have a 12 year old if he was 12 when he got her pregnant. He's 13 now. They're now on a TV show. Essentially the mom has incentivized and glorified this pregnancy. She's helping them take care of the child which I'm not saying that a mother should not help in a situation like that, but also give them the responsibility when the baby goes to the bathroom to change the diaper. Because if you're allowing them to shower together and sleep together, it's only going to happen again because there is no consequence.
Kale Lowry
No, no. If you're allowing them to shower and have sex like you're allowing it, you're promoting it, you're condoning it, you're doing all of the things right. Why can't they change a diaper? That's they're grown enough to have sex and sleep in the same bed and shower together but they're not grown enough to change a diaper for sure. And I was groomed into. Because no 12 year old is making a conscious, educated decision, informed decision to have unprotected sex with an older person.
Lindsay Chrisley
What was crazy was I ran across another video of another little couple that's on that show and they were talking about how they really didn't know or understand how babies were made, but she was 34 weeks pregnant. And I just feel like if a network. But I have, and I actually talked about this on the Southern Tea not too long ago, that like I am just not a fan of the promotion of shows on TLC and what they choose to promote. And I'm taking that like from Honey Boo Boo, from the Duggers, from Dance Moms, like all of those shows. How is TLC not canceled?
Kale Lowry
This is upsetting. Are these kids, are they in school?
Lindsay Chrisley
Apparently Hunter had missed like 55 days of school and there was like a truancy issue or something like that, I believe. And it's like his entire life is Essentially being ruined with no proper guidance with glorifying teen pregnancy by having cameras in his face all the time. And it would not shock me if she wasn't wanting Bella to get pregnant again because that could secure more TikTok fame, more headlines, and potentially other seasons
Kale Lowry
of the show because Hunter is a minor. Do we know how old they are right now?
Lindsay Chrisley
I think 13 and 15.
Kale Lowry
In real time. They're 13 in real time. And yeah. Okay, so again, my opinion, if this was me as Hunter's dad, I am fighting for custody of my son and supervised visits with his mother because of the situation that we're in. Even if these are just theories or alleged or whatever, I'm gonna fight for that because there is something deeply, deeply wrong here. And there's no reason why, if they're. If missing school is a thing there, they could go back and forth. Like, if Hunter lives with the dad, his own dad, you're gonna have to switch the baby back and forth. The baby's gonna have to go back and forth.
Lindsay Chrisley
I 100 agree with that. I want to petition the stepmom and the dad to come on Coffee Convo's podcast. And I sit down and have an actual conversation because I don't feel like their side of the story is being told, only the narrative of Bella's mother.
Kale Lowry
Tons of parents say that they don't plan to use formula, and Most don't yet. 74 of families turn to it at some point in their feeding journey. And as a new parent, you're already exhausted. Okay? Lindsay and I both know this. We've been through it through and through. Lindsay Chrisley
Well, that's cool.
Kale Lowry
No, you don't understand. It went perfectly. Real offer down to the penny. They're picking it up tomorrow.
Lindsay Chrisley
Nothing went wrong. So what's the problem?
Kale Lowry
That is the problem. Nothing in my life goes as smoothly. I'm waiting for the catch.
Lindsay Chrisley
Maybe there's no catch.
Kale Lowry
That's exactly what a catch is. Judge would want me to think, wow,
Lindsay Chrisley
you need to relax.
Kale Lowry
I need to knock on wood. Do we have. What is this?
Lindsay Chrisley
Table wood? I think it's laminate.
Kale Lowry
Okay. Yeah, that's good. That's close enough.
Lindsay Chrisley
Car selling without a catch. Sell your car today on Carvana.
Kale Lowry
Pick up. These may apply if a judge doesn't look at this whole picture, because I. Here's the thing. It's not what you know, it's what you can prove. Unfortunately, that's just what it is. So you can have all these feelings. I have chills because there are so many things in life that I'm going through right now that I. I know for a fact, but I can't. Can't prove it. And so, like, this is the same type of situation. However, for this to occur and the theories floating around and the. The story of the stepmom, if a judge doesn't look at the situation and see something deeply wrong and give custody to the dad, I will petition the court myself. I will literally start a petition or whatever it is to help him because. And. And not because of the mom or Bella, right? Because that's a whole set. Like, you can't fix mental illness by yourself. That is a. Whatever they're doing, whatever they're in cahoots doing, that is a mental illness. O. To protect Hunter's future. He looks like he. You know, maybe he played sports. I don't know.
Lindsay Chrisley
I think he was a baseball player.
Kale Lowry
I think I saw that. I think he was playing baseball. But, like, to protect his future, I'll help. Like, I will fucking step in and do whatever. I'll petition the court, whatever. Because if he has any chance of providing for that child in the future, he needs his education.
Lindsay Chrisley
I just want to sit down with him and have a conversation to see, like, where it all, like, from start to finish, where it all went wrong and how this started.
Kale Lowry
I would like to know from Hunter's perspective, and I would never air it. I would never put it on. I would never publicly put it anywhere. But, like, I would like to sit down in a private room, a quiet room, and just know, like, how did you get here? What was said to you to have sex? Like, what was the conversation? Was she manipulating him right off the bat? Did he initiate, you know, kissing or anything like that? Like, what was. What is beings. I want to understand what he thinks. Does he even like Bella?
Lindsay Chrisley
I mean, I think that at 13 and 15, it probably was a situation of, like, crushes, right? And then things got too far and she got pregnant.
Kale Lowry
They're from Arkansas. I'm just so concerned about the parenting here. And so are they. Based on all the information that you've told me or that you've told all of us, what is. What is Hunter's mom, like, where is. Where does she stand in all of this? Is she on board? She's with Bella's mom. I was gonna say this earlier, and then I got caught off track, off guard or whatever. I have always said that kids are going to do what kids are going to do. Right?
Lindsay Chrisley
So true.
Kale Lowry
But having those conversations about protected sex and making it a safe space to talk about. Great. This is not that. This is. You are promoting it, you're condoning it, you're allowing it. You're.
Lindsay Chrisley
You're fostering an environment.
Kale Lowry
You're encouraging it. Like, that was not. Like I can say that my mom didn't really keep tabs. Was doing. And yes, she did allow me to sleep at my boyfriend's house. And that's a problem. Like, looking back, I'm like, that's obviously a problem. I would never allow my kids to do that. That was neglectful parenting, irresponsible parenting, all of those things. But my mom also wasn't saying, yeah, you can go have sex with your boyfriend. Like, my mom wasn't saying those things. She wasn't encouraging it. My mom was actually probably a little bit more like, you're gonna be on. Like, she was more like, what the. Like about being on tv. Do you know what I'm saying? But. But this. These parents are literally encouraging it.
Lindsay Chrisley
It's insane. And I cannot believe when I ran across the one video where they were in an interview for. For the show and the mom and Bella were so openly and candidly talking about her being ready to have sex after having that baby pretty much immediately. How. How is the mom not getting in trouble by some type of agenc is
Kale Lowry
child abuse that there's no other. Like, you can't really put it in another category. It. It has to be some version of
Lindsay Chrisley
child abuse because, I mean, just the standard rules and I know that people don't all follow them. Whatever. I did six weeks after giving birth, no sexual intercourse. Oh, and. And in another video I saw where Bella said that she was not on any type of. Of contraception, that they were using condoms.
Kale Lowry
What do the parents do for a living?
Lindsay Chrisley
I guess unexpected tlc. I would love to know. And obviously not our business. What are they making on that show?
Kale Lowry
I would guess that it's probably not a whole lot, but you have to think about any. They're probably not getting any brand deals, but they're getting money from. I would guess. I'm just guessing they're all over.
Lindsay Chrisley
Tick tock.
Kale Lowry
Yeah. So they're probably making money There, there. Right? Make sure you're also paying Wesley for exploiting him and kind of setting him up for.
Lindsay Chrisley
Who is Wesley?
Kale Lowry
The little boy. The baby.
Lindsay Chrisley
Oh, the baby. His name's Wesley.
Kale Lowry
That's what I Google. That's what it said on Google. I hope y' all are all the tick tock money that you're getting, all the TLC money, make sure you're saving some for Wesley, because Wesley doesn't deserve this. And I'm speaking right to the camera and speaking directly to Bella and her mom, and I'm speaking to Hunter's mom. Wesley doesn't deserve this. So I hope that you're doing whatever it takes for that little boy and all of that money is not going into your own pockets, because that is. And I'm so disturbed by this, I'm. I don't know that I'm gonna be able to sleep tonight. And I'm not being funny, and I'm not being dramatic. Like, this is like, I think about my own.
Lindsay Chrisley
I think about our boys.
Kale Lowry
Yes. But the fact that, like, the parents are in, like, cahoots and, like, just thinking about, like, their futures, like, what are they saying about how they're going to provide for their son? Like, what are. What are you telling yourself it's just going to be okay? You're just gonna figure it out. Guess what, T. I was gonna say Team Mom. TLC money won't last forever. Tick tock money doesn't last forever. You have a very short window to basically capitalize off of whatever 15 minutes of fame that you have. This money is because people will be sick of your very quickly, and you will not always get the views that you're getting right now. So I. I could. I encourage you to stay in school. I encourage you to stay in school. Okay, so let's just talk about. In any situation, not just Bella and Hunter, okay? And any situation where teenagers are getting pregnant, right? We'll say before you have a license, because you clearly didn't have. Hunter and Bella didn't have a license when they got pregnant. Logistically, unless they drop out of school, any teenager. I'm speaking about myself, too, because I did not have a license when I got pregnant. I didn't even have a stable home when I got pregnant. So let's think about a license. I didn't even have a stable home.
Lindsay Chrisley
Right?
Kale Lowry
So who's watching the baby? If you can't go to school because you say you give birth in the middle of the school year, who's watching the baby? Okay, You Drop out of school and you're gonna stay home and then hopefully at some point you're gonna go back to school. Probably not. Okay, you can maybe do online school. Great, cool. What about when it's time to get a job? Well, you didn't get a license. You probably don't have a car. You've been staying home. You're losing your mind. Who's paying for daycare when you get a job? Because now we'll fast forward. You're the baby's two years old, three years old, you need to go get a job because otherwise your parents are picking up the slack for baby food and formula and all the things. And you know, eventually when they're a
Lindsay Chrisley
toddler, not even thinking about this. In that situation, how are you providing for this child? Number one, Arkansas has a huge, a huge teen pregnancy rate. And so to some degree, not that it's normal, but more normal in Arkansas now they have this TV show. So in their minds and they are probably being encouraged by their mothers that this is their job and this is how they're providing. But what it's going to do, because it's glorifying it is they're going to end up with a second child and then that child's going to be in
Kale Lowry
the situation and the money will run out and their views will go down. Look at all the rules. Look at all like. And this is no shade. I'm not trying to be disrespectful. I'm not. Look at all the seasons of unexpected. There are very few girls actually from unexpected. I know one girl and she's on Tick Tock and I know that she's probably making a little bit of money on Tick Tock. Great. Good for you. I'm glad because you're. From what I see, you seem to be a good mom with a good head on your shoulders. You figured it out, you got your job, you did the things right. That's not always the case. I don't know one single other person from unexpected that has sustained any sort of level of money. And, and we'll call it fame or popularity on Tick tock. Same for 16 and pregnant. I can name a couple girls, but I have, they have not crossed my timeline in all the years I've been on Tick Tock. So Tick Tock and social media money is not sustainable. It's not. It's also not reliable. Right. Because even for myself, I could make a thousand doll a month or I can make $10,000 a month on social media. It's not sustainable. And then you have to take taxes out. And it sounds like with their education level, and I don't mean to like profile them, but it does seem like they, maybe they are not educated people. And I'm not saying I'm the most educated person, but I also. One of the first things I thought when I got pregnant was like, how the am I gonna finish school?
Lindsay Chrisley
Well, the thought process as a mother and I feel like as a nurturer, as a woman to children, if your daughter, and now you have a daughter. So you can put yourself in that situation many years down the road. If your daughter came to you and she was 14 years old and said, hey mom, I got pregnant and her boyfriend was 12 years old at that time,
Kale Lowry
where did I up. No.
Lindsay Chrisley
Is it normal in your mind with a daughter, is it normal for you to say, okay, and I already know that you went on 16 and pregnant. That was the last ditch effort. Your mother's situation, I get it, but that's not your situation in a normal sense in your family life. If your daughter came to you and said that, would you say, right now, let's sign up for TLC unexpected and exploit all of that?
Kale Lowry
That. No, no, no, no. That's. That's been a question I've been asked in the, in, in the past regarding what did you allow your kids to do? Reality tv, Right? That already I'm, I'm on the fence about. Because it would depend what type of show, it would depend on the production, it would depend on all the things. Right? But pregnancy specifically, no matter of fact, we're going into hiding.
Lindsay Chrisley
I wholeheartedly agree with that.
Kale Lowry
Not because I'm ashamed of embarrassing, but because I want to protect her. Correct. Because clearly I didn't do my job and she got pregnant. Right? So I didn't do my job. Already there. So now I need to go into protection mode and I need to protect her because.
Lindsay Chrisley
Protect her, Protect your grandchild at that point.
Kale Lowry

My name is Mackenzie and I started a GoFundMe for the adoptive mother of a non verbal autistic child. The mother had lost her job because she wasn't able to find adequate care for this autistic child. So she really needed some help with living expenses, paying some back bills. So I launched a GoFundMe to help support them during this crisis and we raised about $10,000 within just a couple of months. I think that the surprising thing was by telling a clear story and just like really being very clear about what we needed, we had some really generous donations from people who are really moved by the situation that this family was struggling with.

Like for people who are listening, our audience who have children who are either our children's age are or older like this. These types of conversations to me are so important and I understand we are speaking off of what we have seen. Again, would love to have a conversation with these parents to get the insight. Now I'm probably not gonna agree free, but would love to get the insight where their head was when these decisions were made. Also I can speak from a place of being on tv having a child on tv. I was not divorced and I still had to have my husband sign a release form for my minor child to be on tv. So how is Hunter on there?
Kale Lowry
Don't quote me, but from what I remember, from what I remember, as long as one parent signed they preferred both Parents to sign.
Lindsay Chrisley
Okay.
Kale Lowry
But as long as one parent signed, everything was fine. And that went for the girl. The moms like being pr, like the pregnant teens and then also the dads, but then also the babies. So when we were having the babies, as. Don't quote me, but I'm 99 certain. As long as. Because I had custody. Custody. I think if it was like 50, 50 custody, it might be different. But I know like if as long as I had custody, as long as one parent sign. Now if they got the other parent to sign, that was even better. But there were periods of time where Lux wasn't allowed to film, I think because I was trying to respect Chris's wishes, but it wasn't like a legal situation. And then same for Elliot, I was trying to respect Joe's wishes at that time. It wasn't a legal issue. So I think that depending probably on the state, depending on the production company, depending on the nature of the project, I don't think that you have to have both parents sign. Now. I don't in this case. Well, I don't know because Chris, even though it's a 9010 split, it's a. It's a joint custody. So I think in theory he could go sign for Lux to do something without my permission. Even though it's a 9010 split.
Lindsay Chrisley
That's insane. Because I can just tell you from our production standpoint and from my experience, Jackson would have never been allowed to ever be filmed.
Kale Lowry
That I think is more of like production or networks. Policies versus legal, if I'm not mistaken.
Lindsay Chrisley
Well, it seems to me like TLC might not have any policies.
Kale Lowry
It sounds like they don't have morals. So, yeah, I. It sounds like they don't have morals. It sounds like there's no. It's like no hold bar. It's like anything goes as long as TLC profits.
Lindsay Chrisley
And I mean, they are. Because to what you said, there's probably not a ton of money being made, but maybe significantly more than what they would have been making doing whatever else that they were doing and the network's profiting. Look at us. We're sitting here talking to however many people who are listening to us essentially promoting the show. I think the normal response for. And I say normal so loosely, but the normal response of a normal, nurturing mother would be like, I am crying and I am mentally shutting down because how did we get here and how are we going to get out of this? That is the normal response.
Kale Lowry
How am I going to take a leave of absence? As the mom to make sure my daughter stays in school and continues her education to get a job to be able to eventually provide for my child, for her child. But in the meantime, the mom is gonna have to pay for daycare or do what like I. Hunter, I hope you're okay. Blink twice if you need help.
Lindsay Chrisley
He's gonna be stay blinking.
Kale Lowry
Honestly, Hunter's dad and stepmom are probably just.
Lindsay Chrisley
I, I can tell you right now, this is the other thing that really baffles me about the situation. The 55 days of truancy. Right. Like if my child missed two days in any given school week, the school might call if I don't send in a notice like on the online thing where you know, give the notice for your child's absence. So how do you get to the point of 55 days? Now we're talking the school system and I would argue to say that that's neglect there. Why was the child not put into some type of state custody until the truancy could be investigated at 55 days that a 12 year old or 13 year old's not showing up to school.
Kale Lowry
Yeah. I think the problem that we're up against where as if we're fighting the battle for, for Hunter's parents is that because Arkansas has such a high teen pregnancy rate, I think that a lot of things there are probably more normalized than they should be. So it would probably be hard to combat some of them. I would just be curious to see what, what this. And I, I'm rooting for. What's his name? Casey. Is that Hunter's dad?
Lindsay Chrisley
I think his dad.
Kale Lowry
I just hope that it's unfortunate because men develop so much later than women. It might be a long time before Hunter really realized and looks back at. Because I, I can't see them being
Lindsay Chrisley
together considered a childhood adverse experience. I mean. Right.
Kale Lowry
Childhood trauma.
Lindsay Chrisley
I mean he's gonna grow up and
Kale Lowry
realize that he was groomed because I don't even care. Say it. Say, say all of this is wrong. And it was Hunter's idea to have sex. Okay. What about everything after that that wasn't. He's 12 years old. You can't make those types of decisions even to have sex with her based on the information we have. I think Alessandra also said that Arkansas is not allowed to do sex education and they only do abstinence based sex conversations other than hiv. So, so where, where are the state reps on that? Because I'm just wondering who creates the curriculum for that? Because clearly the abstinence based conversations surrounding sex are not working and not being
Lindsay Chrisley
able to the numbers of teen pregnancy.
Kale Lowry
Yeah. For, for Arkansas alone to have a higher. What did you say?
Lindsay Chrisley
60 to 90% higher than the national average in Arkansas. And you've got reps there that abstinence based sex ed courses with the caveat of HIV education.
Kale Lowry
Oh, they can talk about hiv. Oh, but if you're abstinent, why is that part of this, the abstinent conversation
Lindsay Chrisley
that is somewhat fear based, but it's not working.
Kale Lowry
Well, we've established 60 to 90% is. So it's not like it's 1% higher. Right. It's not like it's below 5% higher than the national average. Like we're talking 60 to 90 and nobody's doing anything, anything about this. Nobody thinks that this is a problem. Nobody's changing anything. You got Arkansas just thought and bopping around and not doing like allowing Arkansas to just perpetuate teen pregnancy. Younger 12 years old. We're worried about the wrong things. I need to know who the state reps are because I want to talk to the state reps reps. I want to talk to Casey and the stepmom. I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name. I want to talk to Hunter. I want to talk to Hunter's dad. I want to talk to Hunter's stepmom. I then want to talk to Bella. I want to talk to Bella's mom. I don't, don't even get me started on her dad, because that's gonna piss me the off. And then I want to talk to the state reps in Arkansas. What the is wrong with all of you? All of you.
Lindsay Chrisley
I mean, I'm gonna be a part of that conversation because I feel like I would go into that meeting with
Kale Lowry
more of a level head.
Lindsay Chrisley
Kale is going to go into that meeting in a state of complete psychos. A a chart on a trifold poster board on the 60 to 90% higher teen pregnancy rate than the national average.
Kale Lowry
Because I just want to put something out there too. And this is not meant to like be a dig at anyone, but like my situation of me finishing high school and then me going to college and getting a bachelor's degree and then my son being in high honor roll in national honor society is not common. That is not the typical outcome for a teen parent. That is not the typical outcome for a teen parent whatsoever. Look at all of the girls on 16 and pregnant. Look at all of the families on unexpected. Look at all of the families that were on Teen Mom. There are not many that have been able to continue their education and continue like. And you guys think this is okay?
Lindsay Chrisley
How do we petition a state representative?
Kale Lowry
How? Yeah, how do we. Because I. They need to answer to this. The state reps of Arkansas need to answer to this.
Lindsay Chrisley
Please answer to Coffee Convo's podcast. Like, because this is up.
Kale Lowry
I don't know how. Like, and then, and then whatever. Like dfs, children and youth, whatever. Like Child protective services are in Arkansas. They need to answer to it too because they're allowing parents. No, genuinely, like, I'm not being funny.
Lindsay Chrisley
We're gonna go and spend an entire month in Arkansas and clean it up.
Kale Lowry
No, because I, I can't wrap my head around how this is being allowed to like. And I don't think that Arkansas is the only place. It's just the only example that we
Lindsay Chrisley
have right now is Arkansas.
Kale Lowry
And so like we're just gonna allow it to happen and continue and talk about it and. And we're gonna. Everybody's sending these tick tocks of Bella and her family to their group chat but nobody's doing anything about it. So like we're kind of all like complicit and we're all kind of looking the other way. It's kind of like when there's something going on and it's person is going to call 91 1. Like at what point are we stepping in? Because we're all talking about it, we're all affected, you know, mentally.
Lindsay Chrisley
We're cons making us deranged.
Kale Lowry

And it was the type of high school that offered a program that if you were a, a pregnant teen, you could bring your child to the school and they had a daycare that was provided by the public education system.
Kale Lowry
Y we have that and then go
Lindsay Chrisley
back and pick them up. So I'm wondering if Arkansas is a state that offers that.
Kale Lowry
So Alessandra was saying that she looked it up in Arkansas and they don't have the child care in the school, in the high schools with the students, but they offer a program called HOPE where the kids are kids. The, the teenagers can bring their kids to school and go to school and also learn parenting skills. Where we grew up, there were several schools that had daycares within the schools. It's a double edged sword because on one hand you don't want to promote it, but on the flip side of it you don't want a teenager to drop out of school because they got pregnant. So it's one of those things where it's like, it really is a double edged sword. But it sounds like to me that in Arkansas, based on the diploma rates and the teen pregnancy rates, that not everybody is using HOPE to go to school and to get their, their diploma. So it's not in every school. And so you're not really combat, you're not really combating anything.
Lindsay Chrisley
50% of pregnant teen mothers in the state of Arkansas will receive their diploma by the age of 22 years old. 50% of pregnant mothers, I don't.
Kale Lowry
That means. Okay, so based on the statistics that I googled, if 4 of 10 are getting pregnant, only 2 of them are getting their, their diploma.
Lindsay Chrisley
Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Louisiana, Kentucky, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Tennessee, Alabama, Alabama and Texas.
Kale Lowry
So very southern states.
Lindsay Chrisley
All southern states which already don't have
Kale Lowry
great education curriculum in high school, it's clearly not working. The abstinence based conversations are not working well.
Lindsay Chrisley
And you and I had that conversation not too terribly long ago about this sex education within the school. And then I had a guest on the southern tee and she was a professor who teaches a class in college and she was talking about how we, we should be having those conversations not only at home, but also in school and not having our children opt out of those classes because the children who are opting out are children who are not getting the education that they need. And they might, those children might not be getting everything that they need from that education based, you know, sex ed class at school. But if you are pairing that with the conversations at home.
Kale Lowry
Home. No, I agree with you. But also like out of the entire conversation surrounding sex and you're saying HIV, it's abstinence, and then conversations about HIV. What about the rest of the STDs? So, yes, abstinence, but why not just HIV? Because we don't know very many people.
Lindsay Chrisley
Just.
Kale Lowry
I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but it's like, okay, chlamydia, gonorrhea, the clap. Is it. What is that? Is that one of the ones? Chlamydia.
Lindsay Chrisley
Okay, Is that the babies crap? Crabs.
Kale Lowry
No, crabs is like they're literal bugs.
Lindsay Chrisley
Pubic lace.
Kale Lowry
So like those are things. Like you're telling me that in Arkansas we're only talking about abstinence and HIV, but no other STDs. Okay, so there's, so there's a bigger systemic problem here in these mostly Southern and I guess Midwest a little bit. Yeah. So Southern and Midwestern states is propaganda to talk about abstinence, talk about hiv and basically put the stigma, attach the stigma of HIV and S H and AIDS to the gay community. And so it's abstinence and hiv and you're probably only going to get HIV and AIDS if you're gay. And so it's a bigger, in my opinion, it's a bigger systemic problem. And it just perpetuates homophobia, it perpetuates teen pregnancy, ST, STDs and STIs. This is a, a bigger problem. And I feel like it's intentional. It feels intentional to me, but because nothing's changing.
Lindsay Chrisley
It's very common in Southern raising though, and I can speak chance that, and specifically with girls, very, very common that there is a level of fear based around sex.
Kale Lowry
In one way,
Lindsay Chrisley
we're not going to have a conversation about how to safely have sex. We're going to have a conversation about how you're just not going to do it. And there's going to be no further conversation from that. And look, all the states that were listed did have the highest teen.
Kale Lowry
And they're not looking at the statistics and what they're doing. They're not looking at that.
Lindsay Chrisley
But why don't we hear, I guess is the, the bigger conversation?
Kale Lowry
Unfortunately, it's going to get a little political here. What I'm about to say is about to be political. This feels very, this feels very Republican to me. And it unfortunately is God and abstinence and sinning and no abortions. And, and I do personally do not believe that abortion should be a form of birth control. That I, that is my own personal feeling. What I was getting at was that sometimes Republicans frame it as people are getting abortions as birth control. And I would say that a majority of people who get abortions, one do not want to get them. It is the circumstances, it is whatever it is that it is going on in their lives. Right. So. And I'm very passionate about that and I don't want to go off on too much of a tangent, but this feels very. Let's keep the Republicans with these beliefs and let's keep doing this. And they're not caring about the results because if you really look at it, these are red states. Are they? I guess.
Lindsay Chrisley
Why are we keeping. So how are statistics when we're not using them essentially for anything for the greater good?
Kale Lowry
The statistics are going against every fucking thing that you're saying as a Republican surrounding women's rights and teen pregnancy and the education system and what we know about STDs, STI, HIV, all of that. And it's really upset. It's like, keep the, keep the curriculum to the point where you're not smart enough to propel yourself in better directions. Right. Like in these states. And then it's, we're not educating around sex, we're not educating around pregnancy. And it's oh well, once you get pregnant, there's not really a whole lot of resources. But also you can't get an abortion. But also you're stuck here. And then you get to have more kids and you raise the kids in that. And so then it just continues. Right.
Lindsay Chrisley
But I can't get my head wrapped around and please help me. Children just in general are sneaky. Children just in general, when you tell them not to do something, they're going
Kale Lowry
to do it anyway.
Lindsay Chrisley
They're going to bust their ass. Are the street wide open to do it? So why are we having abstinence based sex education curriculum? Because it's doing the opposite of what, what they think that it's going to do.
Kale Lowry
That's what I'm saying. They're doing it on purpose. They're doing it on purpose. Purposefully, yes. I think that it is to keep people dumb because they follow. You're easier to manipulate when you're not educated. So that's where it starts. Right? So like you're not really educating these people because the curriculum is trash. The entire public education system is Dismantled, Right. And then it's. We're not going to have proper conversations around health and women's rights and abortion and sex and all of these things. And so it keeps them dumb to continue to manipulate them. When you are educated, when you're cultured, when you're, when you're educated, you probably want to travel, you want to get out, you want to learn more, you want to do all the things and then you become. It happened to me once I came out of Northeast Pennsylvania and traveled and educated myself and I learned about implicit bias and I learned about, you know, teen pregnancy, things like that. Like they, those states that we're talking about, they don't want that. They don't want you to have a better education to get the up out of those states and to, to learn more and do better and do more because that would what all of those reps and the government wants for those states and what they want for the economy and what they want for the United States. And unfortunately, with me saying all of this, I think that it is possible that a lot of people, I will lose a lot of support from the people that are listening to this because I think a lot of people are going to not realize that they are affected and impacted by this and it affects them and it impacts them directly and they're going to argue against it and there we are going to get hate for this episode probably because of me saying all of these things. And I, I do apologize. It's not meant to be offensive. Offensive. I just need you guys to open your eyes and I say that with the most love and respect possible. If you live in one of these states and you support us. This is really just me trying to tell you, like, get the up where out of where you live so that you can see with your eyes wide open.
Lindsay Chrisley
I mean, I just feel like there needs to be a bigger conversation with the government regarding this. Like why, why can't there be a bigger conversation? Not saying that the conversation is going to change anything, but I just want answers.
Kale Lowry
Like, I think there can be a way to have Republican and Democrat without affect, without it being about public education and keeping people stupid and keeping people not in the know and then teen pregnant. Like these are children. Like we're affecting children's lives that are. They should be innocent. Do you know what I'm saying? The reason why I'm so upset though too is like this runs so deep for me and it's like the government is saying, okay, it's a problem that people are not educated Anymore. But we're keeping them in oppressed situation and then complaining about welfare. You're complaining about low income. You're complaining about.
Lindsay Chrisley
I was going to get on the topic of welfare because you have kids out here having children with no jobs
Kale Lowry
because you're allowing these statistics and pregnancies to continue the way that they like. I. They were oppressed and basically tricked into poverty to stay in poverty.
Lindsay Chrisley
I'm saying I did not realize that me bringing up TLC unexpected would be an entire episode. I thought it was gonna be like a passing conversation.
Kale Lowry
Now I have to go to college for political science. No, I'm pissed.
Lindsay Chrisley
This is actually what our slumber party conversations would entail.
Kale Lowry
I really hope that instead of my the takeaway from this episode, if you made it this far, is to please research what I'm saying before you unfollow me. Before you unfollow Lindsay. Lindsay doesn't deserve this because of all of my very emotionally charged opinions here. Please do the research on what I'm saying before you feel offended by what I'm saying. Do the research on what I'm saying because you're likely. If you're offended by this, you're probably oppressed in some way and you're probably being tricked into whatever situation you're stuck in. So please do the research before you unfollow me.
Lindsay Chrisley
And on that note, we've got to go and eat lunch at our sleep. Wait, are we done?
Kale Lowry
Yeah. There's no time for foul play. Yeah, I'm sorry.
Lindsay Chrisley
Kill's whole rant has become this week's episode's foul play.
Kale Lowry
I'm embarrassed. I'm sorry.
Lindsay Chrisley

Coffee Convos with Kail Lowry & Lindsie Chrisley
Episode: Sleepover Energy & Strong Opinions
Air Date: April 16, 2026
This episode finds Kail and Lindsie together for an old-fashioned “sleepover” vibe, mixing light-hearted banter with a deep dive into some serious, highly-charged topics—most notably, the ethics and societal impact of teen pregnancy reality TV, with specific focus on TLC’s "Unexpected." The hosts share personal stories, analyze the portrayal of teen parenthood in media, and express passionate (and at times, conflicting) opinions about parenting, education policies, and the responsibilities of networks and parents alike.
The tone throughout is impassioned and conversational—with Kail especially expressing sharp outrage and moral urgency, while Lindsie matches her concern but sometimes offers a slightly more measured or procedural approach (“I want to petition the stepmom and the dad to come on Coffee Convo’s podcast…” — 23:39).
Both hosts oscillate between personal disclosure, policy critique, and direct appeals to their audience and to those involved in the TLC show, often referencing their own experiences as young mothers who navigated the media spotlight. There is a clear condemnation of the networks and parents directly involved—and a broader indictment of the systems that enable or overlook the exploitation and undereducation of young people.
This episode is essential for anyone interested in the intersection of parenting, reality TV, and social policy—with both hosts offering candid, sometimes raw perspectives influenced by their unique life experiences. It’s a blend of intimate vulnerability and strong opinions, marked by a willingness to ask difficult questions and call for societal change.
Final Call to Action:
Before judging or reacting, follow the hosts’ advice—“Please research what I’m saying before you unfollow me. …If you’re offended by this you’re probably oppressed in some way and you’re probably being tricked into whatever situation you’re stuck in.” (Kail, 64:52)
