In today's age we have access to a multitude of books. There are books on a wide range of topics, including self-help, fitness, parenting, finance, and more. Most of the time when you read these, there isn't a need for assistance in trying to understand the material. But there's a book that's more important and valuable than any of those, and that's the Bible. Because of its history and depth it requires assistance when reading it. In today's message Pastor Ben points you to the One who will guide you as you read it. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 16, as he begins his message “Let There Be Joy.”
Helping people feels good. There's a sense of accomplishment and joy that fills our hearts when we do this. It's fun and exciting. But what about when you need help? This doesn't feel as good. When you're humbled to the point of needing help. It shows that you're vulnerable and sometimes weak, but there is hope in your weakness. In today's message Pastor Ben encourages you that there is a helper named the Holy Spirit who’ll guide you and lift you up in your weakest moments. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 16, as he continues his message “The Work Of The Spirit.”
There are people in this world who just like to cause trouble. Have you experienced some of them? They are the people who love drama, and stirring things up just because they can. These people are dangerous and if you aren't careful they can cause you to stumble in ways you normally wouldn't. In today's message Pastor Ben sheds light on how, if you believe in Jesus, there will be people in your life will try to cause you to stumble. But you can trust in the one who keeps you from falling. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 16, as he continues his message “The Work Of The Spirit.”
Have you felt disdained from people and you just don't know why? You haven't had a connection point with them but every time you see them in the office, the gym, or on a daily walk, you pass them and they don't even give you a courtesy smile. This feeling isn't great. It's one thing if you had done something, but another when you haven't even held a conversation with them. In today's message Pastor Ben shares how people hated Jesus without cause, and how just as Jesus did, you will be hated too if you follow Him. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 16,, as he begins his message “The Work Of The Spirit.”
Remember the Twilight Zone? It was a TV show about strange things that happened to unsuspecting people. Usually there were people who would find all kinds of bizarre things happening around them,.when no one else seemed to notice, and the more they tried to figure things out, the crazier they'd become. In today's message Pastor Ben wants you to know that when the world seems to hate you, you're not going crazy. As a Christian you don't belong to this world, you belong to Jesus. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 15, as he continues his message “From Love To Hate.”
Okay, so for just a second pretend that you don't know anything about Jesus or Christianity. Now imagine being in first century Judea and you see Jesus come on to the scene. He's healing the sick, the blind, lame and deaf. He's kind to women and children, and the crooked tax collectors, prostitutes, and drunks are radically changed after encountering Him. Why would anyone want Him killed? Today Pastor Ben tells you that it's because the world is under the influence of the devil, and it doesn't want you to know God's love. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 15, as he continues his message “From Love To Hate.”
Kids playing out on the schoolyard would oftentimes pick team captains who would then choose their teammates, and of course we all know that they would pick the best athletes first, and no one wanted to get picked last. So the kids would eagerly wait their turn to get picked. In today's message Pastor Ben shares with you that when God has chosen you, then nothing can take you from Him. When God says “you're mine”, then there's nothing in this world to be afraid of. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 15, as he begins his message “From Love To Hate.”
Think about when you received a gift as a child and the happiness you felt, or think about how good it feels when you get something new today. You know, a new outfit, a pay raise, a new car, a new house. Now the only thing is that over time that happiness fades away, right? Well today in his message Pastor Ben wants you to know that true lasting joy can be found in Jesus Christ. His joy is a joy that won't fade away, but it will fill your heart for all of eternity. Have you experienced the joy of the Lord for yourself? Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 15, as he continues his message “The Vine And The Branches.”
So I've traveled through a few cities around the world where I've encountered street vendors who are selling counterfeits. Sometimes the knockoffs are obvious like “Gucci O's”, instead of “Gucci”. But there were times when the only indication that something was not the real deal was the insanely low price. A price too good for the genuine product. In today's message Pastor Ben warns against settling for anything other than the True Vine Jesus Christ. There are no substitutes for His love. Here's Pastor Ben in the book of Isaiah chapter 5, as he continues his message “The Vine And The Branches.”
You know when I was younger I knew little to nothing about how things actually worked. I just knew things like the refrigerator kept things cold. But now I have some understanding of how that actually works. When I was younger I knew that the car took me places, but now I kind of grasp the concept of how it does it. In today's message Pastor Ben wants you to know that true life is found in Jesus Christ. Even if you don't get all of the how it all works, know this, Jesus loves you and when you believe in Him you will have eternal life.
