Are genealogies important? Matthew recognizes the Messiah's genealogy is crucial to presenting Jesus of Nazareth as God and Messiah. This video explains how God cursed Joseph's kingship line and solved the problem by the virgin Mary's blood line. Understanding this was of great importance to the nation of Israel and its acceptance of Jesus as king. It also shows how our God has planned it all from the foundation of the world. In this fourth Breakfast with Rob, Dr. Congdon presents a study of the first 30 years of the Lord's earthly life as recorded only by Luke in chapter 2. The development of Jesus in His humanity after the incarnation will be discussed. At 12 years of age, when He was an adolescent, a significant turning point in Jesus' human development took place when He acknowledged God as His Father. How the infinite God-Man, Jesus Christ, depended upon the Holy Spirit to enable Him in His humanity to carry out God's plan and purposes for history provide an example of practical value for the believer to depend upon the Holy Spirit in his or her own life. The transcript of this video is available at our website, CMI-TV.net.

This special Christmas Breakfast with Rob examines the agency of the Holy Spirit in the birth or incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Congdon demonstrates the unique miracle of the joining of the divine nature of God with the human nature of man in Jesus Christ. Not only was the Holy Spirit the agent to accomplish this, but this video demonstrates that from conception, the Lord was filled with the Holy Spirit. How much more do we need the filling or control of the Spirit in our life, if the Lord Jesus Christ needed the Holy Spirit empowering Him as well? Be sure to see our personal Christmas greeting at the end of the video.

Part 2 of this series begins a "hands-on" learning experience using the Internet Blue Letter Bible that is available free on the Internet. In this class you will learn how to access the significant amount of information that is provided through the online concordances and lexicons. It will explain how you can use the online concordance information to help you begin to learn the fundamentals of Hebrew and Greek - if you are willing to take the time and put in the effort to learn. This video/audio presentation lays the essential foundation that will enable you to analyze a Bible passage using the literal (normal) - historical - grammatical interpretation [hermeneutic] of the Scripture. Our next video/audio will use what has been learned in this class and apply it to the grammar God used to help us fully understand what He has given us in our Bible.

This video/audio explains the Bible's definition of a "person" and demonstrates how God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are three Persons in one unity - the Trinity. Because human beings are made in the image of God; individual human persons possess the same characteristics that our Triune God possesses as a Person. Identifying and understanding these characteristics helps us to recognize that the Holy Spirit is a Person and not simply an invisible force. This understanding will help you to know how to be filled/controlled and comforted by the Holy Spirit.

This new mini-series offers an in-depth study of the Person and work of the Holy Spirit. Each 10-15 minute segment is informally taught by Rob. During this video/audio session, Rob explains why the believer should learn what the Bible teaches about the Holy Spirit, how to correctly interpret this teaching, and why it is vitally important for each Christian to know and apply the Holy Spirit in his or her life. 5 important truths about the Holy Spirit are introduced and will be expanded in this ongoing series of "Bible and Breakfast" studies.

Why do the wicked prosper and the good suffer? When will God make things right? This was the question of people in Malachi's day. Experiencing very difficult days, watching their culture going downhill - God offered them answers. In this video, Dr. Congdon shows that Malachi's God-inspired answers to these questions are very appropriate for our days. Significantly, we can see a parallel between the failure of Israel and the modern church of today. Two paths are offered to religious people. One leads to failure and the other to reward. Highlighted are the blessings Israel had from God, the failures of Israel toward God, and the result of their failure to prepare for Christ's coming to the earth. Malachi's warning to Israel was very appropriate for true believers living in those days and even more so, for we who are living in these last times.

This video/audio demonstrates that the Bible translation you hold in your hand is an accurate representation of the text penned by the writers of the Bible. Dr. Congdon presents a comparison of the reliability of our Bible to the reliability of the ancient writings of Plato, Tacitus, Herodotus, and Aristotle. That is, since we have no original manuscripts of any of these ancient writings, but only copies from a later date that when penned, can we trust what we are reading is what they wrote? When compared, we find that our Bible has the greatest reliability with the shortest span or "gap" of time between original documents and oldest copies - greater by a factor of 10. For example, there is a gap of 1450 years between Aristotle's original manuscript and our oldest copy of his writing. But the Bible has only a "gap" of 70 years to our oldest partial copy of the original. Yet, it is the Bible's accuracy that is questioned and not Aristotle's writings, why? Following this look into literature, Dr. Congdon presents the history of our English Bible and a discussion of the manuscript families used to produce our English translations. In succeeding programs, Bible students will learn how to use readily available tools on the Internet to assure themselves that your understanding of a passage is what God truly wrote. These classes will show you how to use tools of Bible study - concordances, lexicons, Greek grammar, and more. With the proper methodology, there remains no limit to the heart knowledge available to the student willing to prayerfully study and apply the rules of proper Bible interpretation.
