Here is the breakdown! If you want to work with me, a trauma therapist with 16 years of experience, I have Thursday afternoon spots open, and a few more evening spots opening up next week. Reach out to me at adalina@adalinaeast.com to set up a chat! I promised some adaptations to regular therapy that would help neurodivergent people-those with ADHD, people on the autism spectrum, and OCD. Sadly, there is literally NO reliable research on adapting trauma therapy for those with AuDHD yet. In this episode, you will hear all about the adaptations that you can use to advocate for yourself with your therapist. No one should have to put up with therapy that doesn't really help and is not meant for their unique brain. There is more research coming in this area, but if you want to work with a therapist who knows how to adapt trauma therapy for you, I suggest finding one that advertises that specifically. You all have asked so many questions since the part 1 of this series that I wanted to cover as much as possible! Keep your questions coming, though we are going back to channeled messages next week. We will come back to this subject soon though, and I always love hearing from you. As a trauma therapist and neurodivergent person, I have A LOT to say about how trauma therapy is adapted for those of us who are neurodivergent. Have you ever been in a situation where you are hearing things other people don't hear (like electricity happening), smelling the lunch the person five rows away from you, or dying of a headache due to the fluorescent lights? I know, I've been there too. This means that "normative" trauma therapy needs to be adapted to fit our brains. We need to find protocols and use adapted protocols that work for us! In this epsiode, I will share with you my story of neurodivergence, as well as the beginnings of how to make adapated trauma therapy work for you. This is a 2-part episode, so be sure to tune in next week for more!

What do you do when you know something big is due for work or you have to have a difficult conversation with someone, and you just keep putting it off? On today's episode, I will share therapeutic strategies for breaking through those blocks, as well as WHY it is that we have a tendency to procrastinate on some of the most important things of our lives. These tips also work for many of us who are neurodivergent by interrupting that dopamine signaling that can become so problematic. I will also share some more spiritually based tips to help you move forward gracefully. You can do the thing that you don't want to do and finally stop putting it off. Stay tuned for more mental health tips from me, your trauma therapist, spiritually healing episodes and conversations with some of my heroes every 2 weeks! We all have a personality that is just ours, but how to tell the difference between this and our trauma triggers? How to not get lost in our trauma triggers and misinterpret them as our whole personality? My therapy clients ask me this question all the time, and the answer is more complex than you might imagine. Join me for this episode as we tap into our spirit guides and ask for how we can differentiate between our trauma triggers and our actual personalities.
