People actually just treated me as like a problem to solve rather than a person to understand. Every doctor told me that it was normal that, oh, that's just dresses. That's just what leadership requires. That's just what getting older is like. But there was something deeper going on and that was God's kind of wake up call to me that this is not about healing everybody else. It's about healing you first. If there's breath in your lungs, he's not done with you yet. You are best equipped to help who you used to be. The wisdom comes in whispers, but the sound and the noise that we're exposed to every single day drowns out the whispers. If you can be nothing, I will make it something. And that will be impressive.

Hi and welcome back. I'm so excited for you to be with me today. Okay. Well, it is very rare that I have someone on my show twice, as you know. But this individual is so special to me, you have no idea. But you're about to find out. And he's gonna become very special to you too. It's the second time he's been on the show. He's also a two time best selling USA Today author. A title I do not have. XNHL Performance coach. Ooh, nailed it. He's a founder of Own it. Holy health. The guy coaches the biggest, most famous country singers in the world. He is someone who's changed my Life changed my son's life. And we are here with Justin and Justin. The hardest thing about this whole conversation is me saying your last name. Rosling Chauffeur. I did it. I nailed it. I'm so excited. I'm just so excited for you guys to be able to be here with me, with this amazing human. Justin, welcome to the show.
B
Oh, it's so good to be here, Heather. I just. Anytime I see you, it's just like a bundle of energy. And so it is so awesome just to have you here in the health haven and being able to record with you.
A
Yeah. So we are actually in Justin's studio in Miami, and his home is one of the most spectacular places. And much like Justin, it's a sense of wellness and health and calm peace. How would you describe your home?
B
So when we. When we created this place, we wanted a place that was showing what it looked like to live differently from the world. And how can we find this space of almost Eden esque, if you will, where it's full with greenery, nature. And as you said, when you walked in, it was like, almost like my blood pressure dropped. And that's our goal, is that when you come in here, you truly feel different. You can find health, healing, tranquility. And that was the design that we put into kind of every aspect of it.
A
And it's unlike anything else in Miami. I mean, truly, Miami is such a busy, overcrowded, intense, stressful place to live very often being such a large city with so many people moving here all the time, that to find a moment of peace like this, truly, I could feel my blood pressure drop when I walked out back. So I'm so grateful for this environment that you've created. Okay, so for people who don't know you, they didn't see the first episode that you were on. Can you take us back into your backstory, which really is so incredibly different than where we are today?
B
I think it's ironic, right, because as I sat here and I've kind of gone through everything that, like, God's put me through at 8 years old, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the health redemption story of America. I didn't even. I wasn't even living in America at the time. It was. It was in Canada. And as I. I went on that journey and, and said yes to the Lord, I didn't realize where he was going to take me. I. That I was going to have to a lot of very difficult seasons. And I was a fat kid, teased, made fun of for about eight years, suddenly. Then the fat kid became a fit kid that became scared. For when I say I felt fear for the first time because I knew what it felt like not to be made fun of anymore. And I never wanted to go back. And so the fat kid became an anorexic kid. Anorexic kid that had liver kidney failure at 16, fed through a feeding tube and was only let out to go play H. And I still remember that time where when I was sitting in the hospital, there was the eating disorder specialist, there was the surgeon, there was my psychologist. And it seemed like everybody asked me the same question, but nobody was talking to one another to find a unified solution. And the second thing I noticed was that people actually just treated me as like a problem to solve rather than a person to understand. And that really just lit a fire in me to say, I want to figure out a different way to do this. Because at the end of the day, yes, there was things going on holistically with my health, but nobody was really addressing the key underlying causes, like, why? Why did this happen? Like, why am I here? And so my biggest thing as I came down to the States on a Hockey Scholarship at 19, was to answer the question, not how do you treat something? But rather, why is it happening? And did two undergraduate degrees, a master's degree, my postgraduate doctoral work in cellular biology, and then stepp the world of alternative medicine and trying to figure out the true root causes and the true cellular function of how our body works. And that led me to the NHL at 27 years old and took this N of 1 approach, this unified angle of strength, conditioning, nutrition, psychology, tactical coaching, all speaking the same language, creating unified, singular N of 1 solutions. So a unique solution for Heather, a unique solution for Justin, and what did we find? Athletes got stronger, athletes got fitter, athletes got better faster. They didn't get sick or injured as often. And everybody started to see success. And so what happens when success comes? You start to do more, you start to write books, you start businesses, you start taking on more pressure. Because if you won this year, well, now we have to win again next year. We have to keep growing and keep getting better. And ultimately, eight years later, 32 years old, I ended up getting a diagnosis that I wouldn't see 35, four precancerous polyps in my colon and a bleeding precancerous ulcer in my stomach. And I had been feeling the symptoms for four years. And every doctor told me that it was normal, that, oh, that's just what stress is, that's just what leadership requires. That's just what getting older is like. The bloating you're feeling, the fatigue you're feeling, the inability to sleep, the forgetfulness, that's just, that's just stress. But there was something deeper going on and that was God's kind of wake up call to me that this is not about healing everybody else, it's about healing you first. And 14 months later, after aligning myself with what my body needed based off of genetic testing, cellular testing, understanding how to shift my biology based on my environment, and things that I was doing daily, I had a clean bill of health. And again, that was like God's anointing moment, saying, hey now, I need you to stop doing this just for athletes and I need you to do it for human beings and everybody else. Because this is not just an athlete problem, it's a human problem. And that's when we started own it. And over the last seven years we've been just so blessed to see thousands of people healed through this. We've got a team of 50 touching about 1400 people every single day. And then about a year ago, God put another calling on my, on my heart to take it from the high end entrepreneurs, leadership, high capacity people to his church. And that's where the, the whole movement for holy health has come of how do you heal God's way? But that whole story intertwined is just health. Wellness has always been my calling. It's always been on my heart. But I think what's so unique about it is my entire life's been arranged around it, but it caused me to chase it for so long until you actually fall and walk into the calling that God has for you.
A
Wow, there's a lot to unpack there. And one of the things I really want people to understand is the relationship that you have with God. And I know a lot of people listening right now are saying you have this amazing calling on your life, but you believe everybody has an amazing calling on their life.
B
100%. Everybody's got a calling. If there's breath in your lungs, he's not done with you yet. And a lot of us oftentimes get so fixated on what we want, what we want to do, that we haven't ever gotten silent or haven't ever looked at what we've gone through and said, man, this is actually what I'm called to do. This is actually where I'm called to go. This is who I'm actually called to help. And oftentimes the best thing that I say that kind of guides you to start asking a better question is you are best equipped to help who you used to be. And you can even add parts to that. Is you are best equipped to help those in which have walked or those who are walking through roads you have already come from. And so just different things that you can come back to. But looking at your life, there are patterns, there are signs, there are signals that we are often so oblivious to that we don't actually understand that God's been painting your path the whole time he's been bringing you this direction. Now, it probably has been Ilinear, because you kind of went your own way and deviated sometimes, but he's always bringing you back to the path. He's always bringing a person. And I challenge everybody listening right now, no matter where you are, there was often probably a memory that you have maybe multiple where you had kind of deviated off and gone your own direction. But there's one person that just randomly popped into your life that kind of brought you back, or there was one situation that randomly happened and brought you back to something new. And these are not hap stances. These are designs that are bringing us back to what God's always called us to.
A
I couldn't agree with you more. And when you were just explaining that, I thought about how we met and how our. How you came into my life and the profound change as a result of you coming into my life and my son's life. But it was so random how we were connected and how we became friends and. And how. And how that grew for someone listening right now that's not feeling connected to this message because they're not close to God right now, or what are some of the things that we can say to them so that they could open their mind to that this is actually happening in their life, too. They're just not aware of it.
B
So even in holy health, I talk about this often, is that God is always talking to us. And a lot of people are like, man, I don't hear from him, or I. I don't believe in that because it's something that has been outside of my life for so long. But oftentimes, like, I'll sit here and I'll say, heather, I've got the secret for you to make a million dollars before you leave this podcast room. Are you ready to hear it?
A
Give it to me.
B
Awesome. So the way that you're going to do that is. Did you hear that? Did you get. Did you. Did you catch it?
A
No.
B
Okay. Well, let me try again. The way that you're gonna get the million dollars is you're gonna go and do. Did you catch it that time?
A
No.
B
And so the example that I just gave is the wisdom comes in whispers, but the sound and the noise that we're exposed to every single day drowns out the whispers that all we hear is the clashing cymbals. And so it could be the social media that we're constantly scrolling on that doesn't allow us to actually be still and silent, to actually hear him. It could be that we're constantly in different communities because we have this fear of being left out, that we constantly are out in the. The noise of the city, the noise of the communities, the noise of the environments that never allows us to actually have our nervous system slow and calm and realize what it is that God has for us. And so the way that we would do this or the way that I would invite somebody in to have a new, fresh experience, and it can sometimes be sc, if it's the first time you've done it, is there's this acronym called slow S L O W. And it's stillness allows you to listen, so you then can be obedient and gain wisdom for what to do next. And if you literally just get silent and get still, go through some box breathing. In for four, hold for four, out for four, hold for four. I've got something I teach in holy health called Holy breath that is a little bit more an active breath. Two breaths in through the nose, one through the mouth. We go through about 20 rounds of this. It just calms the nervous system, and it brings a sense of stillness and peace. Because I hear often people go, oh, you need to start meditating. Well, a guy with ADHD that loves the noise, that loves to be in it, I have a hard time meditating, but when I'm going through breath work, because it says in Genesis that God breathed into the nostrils of dust and dust became man. Like, that is how he created us. He breathed life into us. Breath is life. Oxygen is in the air that we breathe. And so you see science and scripture coming together and aligning for how we suddenly slow down, we suddenly get still, and we suddenly hear things that we haven't able to hear, things that we have not been able to hear before. So I really encourage anybody who's just starting this journey or trying to figure this out. Go through some breath work, still yourself for three to five minutes, and all of a sudden you will get a new glimmer of wisdom, a new. You will hear something that is makes you wonder. You'll hear something that like man, why did this thought get brought up? Why did this feeling or emotion get triggered? Why did this all of a sudden happen? And you'll have a moment of clarity, or you'll have a moment of peace, or you'll have something that causes you to go on this thought pathway that you have never even experienced before. And that is simply God whispering, saying, hey Heather, this is where I want you to go. This is where I what I have for you, this is who I say you are so that you can ultimately step into something new. And you start to repeat that over and over and over, multiple times a day, multiple days, a week. You start to get familiar with the voice of God just as though you are familiar with the voice of your son, just as you are familiar with the voice that of of mine that you you create relationship so you recognize voice and a lot of us just haven't buil that relationship because religion has stood in the way of actually building the relationship so we can hear the voice that guides us and leads us to what the life is Abundantly Meet

One of the things that's been confusing for me, I know that, you know, on my journey with being able to hear God or even understand what that meant, because as you said, I grew Catholic and it was a very different message that had been brought into my life. And religion was not something that I celebrated, you know, intrinsically. And it's been very different for me since you've opened my eyes to relationship with God, not religion, which I'm grateful for. It was confusing at first, and I'm sure some people listening are going to identify with this. How do you know? I understand what you're saying to, to get silent and to get yourselves to slow down and, and be open to receiving these messages and hear the whispers. But how do you know when it's your, your own mind trying to get yourself to speak, or if it really is God or if it's a negative word that's coming in? And where is that? That part confused me a lot at first.
B
It's, it's, it's a beautiful question. In scripture, there's something called the fruits of the spirit, love Joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, self control. These are things that are desirable fruits of the spirit. And so if something is of God, it is of the fruit of the spirit you will possess. Fruit of the spirit. So if I was to squeeze an apple, Heather, what would come out?
A
Apple juice? Yeah.
B
How about an orange? Orange juice, hopefully. Right. And so if we squeeze ourselves under pressure, hard situations, we have to ask ourselves, is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, self control coming out, or is anger, resentment, bitterness, frustration, anxiety, overwhelm coming out? And so immediately, that is a telltale sign. Am I in alignment with where God wants me, or am I trying to do it in my own will? I'm a guy that has negative things happen to him all the time. Doors shut in my face, nose, nose, nose, all the time. I've. My biggest fear for the longest time, and I've been. I've told this on many podcasts, was that I would not be impressive. And if I wasn't impressive, I would be nothing. And if I was nothing, my soul would die. And that. That was literally my. My whole mo. And so every room I went into, I had to be impressive. This is what I've done. This is where I'm going. This is what I'm accomplishing. And that's the way that I'm validated. That's how I know that I'm good enough. And then I had to go and do all these races. I had to go. The high road rocks. I had to go do Ironmans. I had to go to marathons. I had to go and get to the NHL. And once I was in the NHL, I had to start businesses. Once I started businesses, I had to write books. Once I started doing books, I had to start speaking. This was how I was impressive enough to be validated that I was good enough, I was worthy, and that I could be seen by those that I wanted to be seen by. And ultimately doing that over the course of a long period of time, it led me to. With what I call, again, the five different types of hearts that people will notify. They will even have the pleaser heart. I try to please everybody. They will have the pessimist heart, where it's like, hey, I've been hurt before, and I don't find any type of positive thought out there because I only see the negative side of things. We have the protector heart. Hey, I've been bruised in the past, and you're not getting close to me. There's the performance heart, which is like, hey, I'm only Validated by what I do and what I accomplish. And then there's the perfecter heart where it's like, if it's not perfect that I can't do it well, I want nothing to do with it. And so we get imprisoned by these hearts. And for me, it was the performer heart and it was the pleaser heart that I. Those were the things that overcame me because if I did those things, I would be impressive. And it was when I was in the stillness, I was in the silence. And I kept asking God, like as you're going through this, laying in a hospital bed, going, getting a routine colonoscopy because I wasn't feeling well, then coming out and saying, hey, we're going to go right into surgery because it's like we're in no bueno land. And then, hey, we're also going to have to do some things in your stomach because you've got a bleeding pre cancerous ulcer that ultimately your habits, behaviors and life rhythms have led us to. It's like, man, all of these things that I've been doing that are all about being impressive have started to decay me and cause my health to leave me. Because if I was really honest, I was exhausted, I was tired, I did not feel well. Every single day that I was alive, I would have wished many days that I wasn't even there because of the symptoms that I was experiencing, experiencing. And as I came out, I asked God, like, God, what do you, like, where do you want me to go? What do you want me to do? Like, I don't know what to do anymore. My way brought me worldly success, but now I'm like struggling and I don't know what to do. And it wasn't an overnight thing. This, this wasn't like, oh, I asked a question and the answer came and I'll was good again. It was a daily, like dying to myself. And so remember my belief system and my belief set, the identity set was if I am not impressive, I will be nothing, and if I'm nothing, my soul will die. And it was about four years ago, maybe five years ago. Heather, now I'll give you kind of the context. That was about three years after this whole episode, leaving the NHL, having my whole health issue, starting own it. About two years prior to that, I was sitting in the sauna in silence, going through this process of being slow, and I heard this voice and it said, if you can be nothing, I will make it something. And that will be impressive.
A
Wait, can you say that again?
B
If you can Be nothing. I will make it something. And that will be impressive. And every single day of my life, I just come in, I try to be nothing, show up with humility, show up with man, whatever. I have the home that we have, the calling on my life, the message I have, the books I write, the businesses we have, the ministries we've started, the events we host, the ways I speak, the stages I'm on. I go in, I'm nothing. I'm just, I'm one step from stupid. Like, if I can be nothing, he can make it something. And that will be impressive. And that's what people are walking in. Now. Before you'd walk into a room and it'd be like it. You can sense the energy of somebody trying to perform, trying to embellish, trying to perfect, trying to protect. Try the five hearts I talked about. You can notice it right away in the way they saw, in the way they operate with their. And with the energy in which they flow with. But the moment that somebody walks in with peace, confidence, alignment, having done the work on themselves, not that they're trying to show false humility, but rather that's just who they are because they're nothing that becomes impressive. I want that. I want what this person has. They can stand in their own shoes and they can act the way they are because something's unique and different. And so when we think about this long term, the habits, the behaviors and the lifestyle rhythms that you operate in daily, that is simply your identity made visible. What do you think about yourself? Who do you think you are? And I'll even take that a step deeper. And it's not about who you think you are, but it's rather who does God say you are? Because if you don't know who God says you are, then simply what you're going to do is you're going to become who the world says you should be. And so we have to come back to who does God say you are? And once you know who God says you are, now you just know what to do. You know what habits, you know what behaviors, you have this level of confidence. Because the best definition I've come up for confidence is creating undeniable evidence that you are who God says you are. And so as we continue to walk in alignment with who God says you are, there's a confidence that comes, there's a lack of striving that comes, there's a lack of performance that comes, and you just simply walk in. That anointing that he's put on you that every Single one of us has. But we have to be willing to die to what it is that we think we want. And the moment we do, life changes.
A
How do you do that?
B
The. The dying to yourself? Every day it. For me, the easiest way I've been able to remind myself is to be nothing. If I can be nothing. And I'll give a great example is we just hosted a redeemed event. A redeemed event. It's. There was about 64 men here all over the country, all high capacity men, pastors, business owners, entrepreneurs. And I say it's the health and fitness event for men who want to activate, deepen and get on fire for Jesus. And these men rolled in. And for a lot of times, you see, like when you go to events that the. Whoever's organized it makes sure that this has to run at this time and this time and this time. And they have to be on the stage for everything. And they have to be the one that's putting everything together. They have to be seen, they have to be heard, they have to be validated. And ever since I started this event, the Lord gave me again, it all happened in the stillness and the quiet. He gave me very clear instructions. I don't try to go, hey, here's what we're going to do at the event. I say, lord, what do you want this event to be? I say, give me clarity and vision. And then I have. Give myself stillness. And it just downloads, Heather. It just goes, hey, here's when you're going to start it. Here's how you're going to do it. Here's who you need to have speak, here's who you need to be on the stage. Here's the exercises you're going to do, here's the places you're going to go. And away and, and away we go. Well, I say that because this last event, it's. It kicked off with an absolute bang. And on Saturday, this day two, we always start with a breath work, showing them the slow experience on the beach. And then we do a workout and it typically leads into baptisms. Well, we got to the beach that we normally go to. I was there ahead of the bus. And as I got to the beach, there was this ungodly fish smell. Like, I'm telling you, like, it made me almost vomit. And there was about 9ft of seaweed for as far as the eye could see from front to back. And I was like, nobody is walking through this sludge. Like, this is South Beach. Like, how does it get like this? Like this is crazy. I've never seen it like this. And I'm like, nobody's walking through that. The morning is going to be ruined. This whole thing is going to look terrible. I'm going to look like an idiot. I had this whole thing planned. I thought this is what we were supposed to do. How could this be? And I literally stopped and paused and I said, lord, where do you want me to go? And about six weeks ago, I started doing 30, 40 mile bike rides with my neighbor out to Key Biscayne and back. And I heard this whisper, said, you've been there. Go to Virginia Key. And I was like, oh, my gosh. Well, just this past Sunday, the guy was on the bike ride with goes, hey, I feel like I should take you on a different path today. We're gonna go and hit Virginia Key on the way back. I'd never been to Virginia Key. And so he took me to Virginia Key. I went down there. I was like, oh, my gosh, this is so beautiful. It's so private. Like, I didn't even know this existed. The beach is stunning. It's like its own little private beach area. There's like a little beach volleyball court. There's picnic table. Like, this is incredible. And literally in the moment, it was like, go to Virginia Key. It was five minutes from where we were. So I called the bus, I said, hey, change of plans. We're going to Virginia Key. We went up, and all of a sudden it was better than what I had even originally planned. So what I'm saying here with the example I'm giving is my ego, even in the moment, wanted to go, this, the day is ruined. Everything's awful. I'm never gonna, like, people are gonna see me as a fraud, as a fake, as a failure. Like, I didn't plan this. What an idiot. Nothing's going right. Baptisms are ruined, et cetera, et cetera. But I stopped. I paused. I was like, hey, just be nothing. You put the time, the effort in. You've heard from the Lord. Where does he want you to go? Virginia Key. We went. The morning was better than we could have ever imagined. And 22 men got baptized. And so I say that to say, like, that's nothing I did. I was nothing. He made it something. And that becomes impressive. And so for a lot of people who are entrepreneurs, who are executives, who are high capacity leaders, who are leading families, leading households, have pressure on them, social media followings, all these things that they think they're mine, I'm trying to make, I'm Trying to figure out how to do this. It's like, no. When you just sit and listen, you get still. The pressure comes off, the striving leaves, the continual fatigue starts to pull away. And suddenly you're able to walk into a new level of freedom, a new level of health, a new level of clarity, a new level of focus, a new level of execution. Because you are willing to be nothing. And you can actually now just follow the path that God has for you. And going back to your original question of how do you know if it's you or it's God? Would God would. Would anything negative ever be spoken over you by the Lord?
A
No.
B
Never. And so many of us start to question these things that come to us. Hey, give away a million dollars or give away a hundred. Give away a hundred dollars. Well, is that me or is it God? Well, God would never tell you not to give away money. Hey, go say hi to that person over there. Well, God would tell you, never tell you not to go say hi to somebody. And there's so many gut feelings that we have all the time that we just ignore and we do the opposite, when actually they were just God winks that we decided not to listen to. You've heard from God. You know what his voice sounds like, you know what his voice feels like. But for so long, we've been ignoring the whispers that we've ultimately walked into something different.
A
Wow. It's so powerful and unbelievably true. And it sounds simple listening to you describe it, but I know for sure. I've been able to witness what you've taught my son and. And how you've led my son to Jesus Christ. And I. By witnessing, I was able to learn. So for people who haven't been able to see something, you seems. And this is. I don't mean it mean, but you seem so perfect. You're in such incredible shape. But you know, you know what? I get it. You're so disciplined, right? You're such. You're such a. You are a high performer. And it's hard oftentimes to be able to relate to that because people, they don't know you the way that I know you, know you as a real person. So when you look at any regular individual that's out in the world, who's overweight, who isn't sleeping at night, who's going through a divorce, who's having a tough time.
B
Yeah.
A
How. Where can they start? Or where should they start?
B
It always says, like, again, I. I go. I never go on podcasts. Knowing, like all of my background, people always say, well, what's the first thing that we should do to improve our sleep? What's the first thing I should do? Lose weight. I'm never going to go on a podcast and say, hey, you should get 12,000 steps a day. You should do 30 minutes a week of zone five. You should do 180 minutes a week of zone two. You should only eat single ingredient foods. You should go to bed at a consistent time and wake at a consistent. We can get into all the science of how we should do it, but all that is is behavior modification. That will come and go eventually because you haven't yet changed who you are. And until you've become somebody new, you won't not be able to step into it. In scripture, it says you cannot put new wine into old wine skins because new wine ferments. And when you put it into an old wine skin, it would burst at the seams and the new wine that would go in would ultimately be. Would be wasted. Well, for us, the way we apply that back to neuroscience is that you can't put new habits into an old identity because you try to put these new habits into an old identity. And what happens is, even though the habits are good, eating a certain way, hydrating a certain way, going to bed at a certain way, doing breath work, doing these things that are all moving you in the right direction, if you still see yourself as the person who has to strive, the person that has to push, the person who's insecure, the person who's not good enough, the person who's a failure, the person who can't think clearly, then all of a sudden, the new habits will slowly wean off, will slowly fade away over two, three, four, five weeks, because you tried to put new habits into an old identity. And so our identity has to shift first into who God says you are. You are an overcomer. You are a child of God. You are a leader of leaders. You are a catalyst for change. Like, what is that that he's trying to say for you? And when you know who God says you are, suddenly these things start to mean something different. Because the disciplines no longer become the goal that you're trying to attain, but rather they become the path to goal, which is to become more like Christ. And so if we go back and this is where, again, I love how scripture and science agree. Science is only proving what scripture has already known. When you actually start looking at this and the way I wrote Holy Health was you, you know, my background in terms of We've talked about it, but all like 7 years of education and then 2 years of advanced degrees and then 1112 years of deep book reading and podcasts and research papers and cadaver labs. You name it, I've been in all of these areas. But God said two years before writing this book, hey, I don't want you to read another book. Only read mine. And as I got into it, Heather, as I started to dive deep into scripture, all I could see was scientific references. All I could see was like, man, this is just a big health book. This is just a big how do you live?
A
Book. Can you give us an example of that?
B
Great example. So somebody who's struggling with sleep. We know that going to bed and waking at a consistent time ultimately creates a circadian rhythm pathway that balances hormones, cortisol, and melatonin. That allows for the deeper stages of sleep, REM and slow wave sleep. That ultimately is the detox pathway when the glymphatic system turns on. And so we need 38 to 50% of our total sleep time every night in slow Raven REM in order to get the glymphatic cleansing that we need so that our brain doesn't have dementia, Alzheimer's, doesn't have toxicity and inflammation throughout our body. All of these things. That is what science tells us we need to in order to optimize that. Well, you go to Genesis and what's the first thing God created? Light and darkness. Light and darkness is another word for circadian rhythm. Light stimulates cortisol. Darkness stimulates melatonin. Well, all of a sudden, we now take a step forward and said, God created the sun, the moon, and the stars to show sacred rhythms and timing. It says, evening came, morning came, first day. We think our days start when we wake and they end when we fall into bed exhausted at the end of the day. Evening came, morning came, first day. Suddenly, the evening is the start of our days. So evening time is sacred time. And so if we start to prepare for sleep in the best way possible, we go to bed at a consistent time when the sun goes down and we start to down regulate ourselves. That's not when we're starting to send emails. That's not when we're starting to do our podcast planning. That's not when we're starting to look at our calendar for the next day. That's the downregulation time that we honor sleep. We're going to start sleeping deeper. It's going to mean something to us, because scripture has told us what we need to do in order to align with what science is already proving. And so so many of us try to go, I need to go to bed at a certain time, but it doesn't mean anything to us because it really is not who we are. Well, I'm just a night owl. Well, I don't sleep well at night. Well, I do my best work at night. No, you've trained yourself to believe that because you've said yes to other things to ultimately hide, mask or protect the false identity that you've been believing in. And so when you start to come back to who God says you are, and you see what God has shown us through scripture as how to establish habits and life rhythms that heal the body, purify the mind, and then connect the spirit, it's like man. We are holistic, unified beings that suddenly when things are all working together, we can't help but heal and thrive and live a life that is energetic, mentally clear, focused, and ultimately abundant beyond what we could ever imagine.

And I don't know how you say it, but that version of you that is having the bad habits, that isn't surrendering and, and listening to God's whispers and really step into that new version of you. When you're going from that version to this new you, it is so scary.
B
Totally.
A
And I have lived this myself. It's very scary to let go. An example, this is a small example. When I got fired from corporate America, I was letting go of one version of myself to even step into it. That was an optimum. I wasn't doing that through God. However, now I actually it was through God. Now I realize I was being divinely led to what my calling was and my purpose. And like I didn't know it at the time is. Is what I'm trying to convey. I didn't know any of that, but I remember how scary it was to let go and to walk into uncertainty. How can you guide people when they're in that moment, they're about to let go of that old version themselves and step into something that they're not familiar with yet?
B
I mean, that is the definition of faith is walking in sight unseen. And you could even take your example, when you were fired from corporate America, you think, oh my gosh, I got fired. Thus I was rejected. Rejection is protection. And oftentimes we're rejected in areas. We're rejected through a relationship where the relationship has ended. We're rejected in a job or rejected in a. A coach that was supposed to take us somewhere, but that was simply protection to guide you and lead you back to where you're supposed to be. There's always a reason as to why you're going to where you're going. And so when something doesn't work out or when something. When you open up and you show up as nothing with open hands, nothing I have is mine. Nothing. My money, my home, my properties, my business, my ministries, my family, my wife. Nothing is mine. It's all God's at the end of the day. And so if I can realize that I don't want my will, because my will is only what I can see and make sense of. And I'm not strong enough to carry any of that. And if I can give it to him, him, he can not only multiply it, but he can exponentially increase all opportunities simply because he knows what to do. And I've. I've. That is my life's testimony. Heather. The Acceleration in my life over the last four to five years is, is wild. And that, that's, that's no testament to me, only glory to God for what he's able to do. And using, he's simply using me to ultimately reach other people. Like, what a blessing it is to be used while at the same time, and this is what I want people to see is like there's no perfection. It's not like I'm oblivious to pain or anything. There's. This is. Again, this is a fresh story is about, I don't know, five, six weeks ago. I was just had this like overwhelming feeling of being used. Like there were some people, some relationships that I'd poured into for a number of years and it was like, okay, you got me to where I needed to go. And now not going to talk to you or people that I've done so many favors for. And just, and when I say favor, it's just like served in a powerful way that when I was like, hey, can you help me with my book? Or can you help me here? And it was just like crickets, nothing back. It's easy to feel resentful. It's easy to feel angry, it's easy to feel bitter. And for a few days, that's exactly where I went. And again, I was in stillness and silence and I was like, lord, I repent for the way I'm feeling, but man, show me how to let this go, because I don't know how. And he goes, whoa, whoa, whoa, they didn't use you. I used you. And you said that and everything turned around. It's like, oh my gosh, they're human beings. They didn't use me. God used me. I've been asking to be used by God for a long time and he literally gave me exactly what I wanted. And now I'm angry and resentful and mad and upset. Well, this doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Thank you, Lord, that you use me. Thank you that you chose me and trusted me enough to go and be in these rooms and go and be in these places and build these relationships and serve in the way in which you, you've called me to. And my goodness, what a blessing. Only fast forward two, three weeks down the road that doors that I wanted to open that didn't get opened Suddenly got opened 10x fold because somebody goes, hey, I want to have you on my show. Hey, I want you to come and be on this national broadcast. And it's like, I couldn't have opened up those doors that was only of God, and thus his will was greater. But I have to be willing to be nothing. You, on the other end of this podcast, you have to be willing to be nothing. And if you can be willing to be nothing, he can make it something. And that will be impressive.
A
One of the things that you taught me was how to pray or have been teaching me is how to pray and the routine and the times that you pray and the location. Can you explain for someone who's listening right now that wants to understand how they can have more connection with God, how prayer from a routine perspective works?
B
Prayer is the foundation of everything. Prayer is simply communication. It would be like if you were married and you never spoke to your spouse and you wondered then why your relationship dwindled. It's like, hey, we're not going to talk to each other. We're only going to talk to each other maybe at dinner for 10 seconds and say, hey, how was your day? Good. How was your day? Good. Awesome. And that was it. That's how a lot of us pray. It's like, hey, Lord, thanks for dinner. Bless it, give us energy. Amen. It's like, well, of course nothing's going to move or shake. It's a relationship. It's a relationship. And so when you pray, you're asked to pray in Thanksgiving, so, meaning you're giving thanks and gratitude for all things. So, hey, I feel used right now, and thank God that you have used me. Give me guidance and wisdom as to where to go from here. And all of a sudden, it's not like a genie, where it's like, oh, boom, here's your answer. But continue to keep coming back in prayer and petition through Thanksgiving, and suddenly you're going to start to see him working in your life. And so when I hate what I'm about to say here, simply because for those listening who haven't yet experienced this, you're going to have the same response that I had when I heard somebody say it is, oh, yeah, right. Pray over everything, sure, but pray over everything, everything. Every decision that we make in our business, Elise and I pray over every decision that we make in our relationship. We pray over every decision that we make in our finances and with our homes. We pray over. And every single time we do, we get guidance and wisdom as to what to do next. And every time that we've tried to do it in our own strength, something has come awry that has been the wrong thing at the wrong time. And we've made not a wrong decision, but a decision that has Caused us more frustration, more anger, more resentment, more difficulty that we've had to learn a lesson that rerouted us back so that we can ultimately then show up in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness and self control. And these are the things that we come back to. So when somebody's starting to pray, it's just a conversation. Hey Lord, I woke up this morning, I've got no energy. I don't know why. Can you show me why? I guarantee you if you pause and you stop and you sit on it, you'll be like, man. Well, I guess the five beers last night and the Netflix binge for two hours probably didn't help me. Is that what, is that what you want me to give up? Up, Lord? What do you want me to give up that's going to help me with my energy level? Well, yeah, I, I, yeah, I know I should probably steward my nights better. You, I, yeah, I know I work until 8 o' clock every night and I know my wife's been on me for a long time about this, but like, yeah, I guess I should probably be changing that, Lord, like, Lord, how would I do that differently? And you start to literally have a conversation with yourself because you know what to do. You, you've been covering this story up and protecting it for so long that your body's communicating it through symptoms, through diseases, through anxiety, through overwhelm, through headaches, through insomnia, through. These are simply your body's expression of saying, hey, I need you to start doing something different. And the body's whispers are the same as God's whispers because the Holy Spirit dwells inside of you. It's the only thing that God called Very good. Good. It's a thing that he has chosen to live in so that he can ultimately carry out the calling on your life with you. And so many of us want to go in our own direction, which is why we can't figure this out. Because we are so convoluted by what the world says, we've conformed to its patterns, the habits, the behaviors, the life rhythms, which is why we don't have health, which is why we don't have peace, which is why we don't have joy, which is why we don't have this level of understanding that that surpasses any level of comprehension. But we feel suppressed, we feel anchored, we feel tethered, we feel imprisoned. And this is ultimately the outcome of trying to have our will rather than having it God's way.
A
Imprisoned is such a great word. And I want to Dive into that a little bit. In regards to. We are all locking ourselves up by disconnecting from people, disconnecting from God, disconnecting from, like you said, the Holy Spirit with within you. How can we help ourselves to unlock that?
B
So I talk about the in holy health. I open the book in chapter one with a letter from Satan. And I wrote this chapter last as I was writing the book, because it was an instant download that came and it became the first chapter. And what it does is it walks us through how he decays our life. It says in John 10:10 that Satan and the enemy comes only to steal, kill and destroy. But God came so that we would have life abundantly. And when we see this, it's like, oh, okay, there's this war happening. There's this war for our body, there's this war for our mind, there's this war for our heart. There's this war for this thing that is. Has been put on the earth to have a calling to be carried out. And in order to understand how we get imprisoned or how we get out of prison, we have to understand the enemy's tactics. And there's seven Ds in which he destroys us. The first is he distracts us. He distracts us with good things rather than God things. He distracts us with opportunities rather than open doors. And so these things that come up in our life, money, jobs, relationships, these distractions that. You know what? I know I shouldn't do this, but it seems so good. It's pleasing to the eye. It feels good to me. He distracts us. Those distractions disconnect us. They disconnect us from God. They disconnect us from people. They disconnect us from our mentors, those that should be guiding us, our communities. And the disconnection ultimately leads to division. There's two different versions of us. There's the public us and the private us. In the public eye, you're like, oh, my gosh. Heather's got it all together. Oh, my gosh, everything's so perfect. Everything's so awesome. Oh, my gosh. In the public eye, Justin, he's like, he's fit. He's speaking all over. He's got these businesses that are great. He's got a platform like that is. They've all. They've both got it going on. But then privately, I'm falling apart. I'm exhausted. My marriage is falling apart. Things aren't good. Same thing with you. But we have this division that goes on. The division leads to further depletion why? Because as high performing people as people who want to show that everything's great, we're just going to work harder, we're going to wake up earlier, we're going to go, go to bed later, we're going to continue to say yes to more things, we're going to say yes to more opportunities. So we only get further distracted that thus further disconnects us, that further divides us, that further depletes us because we are saying yes and giving ourselves to everybody, everywhere and everyone. Well, the, the, the depletion leads to discouragement. Man, why can't I figure this out? Why do I feel so bad? Why can't I get my energy back? Why am I so mentally foggy? I, I wake up every day and I, I, I, I hate my life. Like this is not awesome. Even though I've got everything that anybody could ever want and I've got so many blessings, but I can't even see them and so I'm just so discouraged. And the discouragement leads to disqualification. Mean man, maybe I wasn't supposed to do this. Maybe I, maybe I, maybe I shouldn't have started this business. You know what? I, I was right not to take that other road. I was right not to start this business because I probably couldn't even do it anyways. Which leads to the destruction of us holistically, mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally. Because the joy, the love, the patience, the kindness, the freedom has been stripped away from all the blessings that we have. And we're left imprisoned in this body that we walk in daily. That is symptom. Full, exhausted, depleted, disconnected, feeling all alone, like nobody understands us and thus slowly dying. And that's the pattern of the world.
A
