Bretman Rock
The following podcast is a Dear Media production Action. Ring, ring, ring. Oh, my gosh. The bell is ringing, everybody. It is none other than Summer School time with the baddest radio. Cue the intro. Bratman to Earth. Earth to Bratman. Girl, you already know who it.
Princess May
Is.
Bretman Rock
All right, you guys, summer school is in session. And who's better to host my summer school than the best teacher ever? Not Ms. Rachel. Not even Ms. Silva, who was my second grade teacher, but none other than Ms. Princess.
Princess May
Ms. May.
Bretman Rock
We were talking about our teacher names, and I feel like I would go for, like, Mr. B or Ms. B if you're nasty. Well, I probably wouldn't say that to the students, but what would you go by?
Princess May
Ms. May.
Bretman Rock
Ms. May. Why not Ms. Princess?
Princess May
I don't know. It's just. I don't know.
Bretman Rock
No, and I feel like our last name isn't cute enough to be, like, a teacher's last name. I don't want to be called Mr. Sakayana. Like, ew. Not that my last name is gross. There's just not a cute, like, ring to it.
Princess May
Yeah, like, you gotta say it with an accent, too. Like.
Bretman Rock
No. Girl. Princess, how has your summer's been?
Princess May
My summer's been great, actually. I had the kids half of the summer and sadly, it ended really, really fast and so soon.
Bretman Rock
But so you guys have, like, the beginning. You had the beginning of the summer, and the dads had the last beginning of the summer. Okay, well, that's part that explains why I haven't babysit in a while. Oh, my gosh. So, yeah, if you guys are watching this, I know you guys have missed the baddest radio. I personally have missed the baddest filming for the baddest radio myself.
Princess May
Me too. Me too.
Bretman Rock
So I just want to introduce the series real quickly. I know you guys have missed the baddest radio. And I felt like doing these mini episodes with Princess that is summer school themed would just be like the perfect kind of pre game, pre show before the actual season two starts. So every episode we're going to be covering a different topic. This episode, obviously, the subject says homeroom. Homeroom. I feel like homeroom is always the first class you go to. Do you have any homeroom memories, Princess?
Princess May
Yes.
Bretman Rock
What does one do in homeroom? I remember my homeroom. We set our intentions for the day. We write down the agenda. We write down the periods of the day. Because sometimes if you guys want to intermediate with me, they alternated like 1, 3, 5, and then 2, 4, or 6. Like, so we had even an odd days for. What did you do in your homeroom?
Princess May
Same thing. Agendas. We're writing down the date and, like, basically, not just the agendas. And also I think homeworks. Homeworks that we're gonna do.
Bretman Rock
Yeah, period. We all, like, wrote in our planners and we had AR reading. Do you remember AR reading?
Princess May
No, I think we just sat down and read. I pick our own books.
Bretman Rock
That's ar.
Princess May
Oh, that's.
Bretman Rock
And then you take a quiz after for the points. I feel like you didn't read. What is one book, bitch? Name a book series you finished, princess.
Princess May
Wait, what? Home? Like, are we talking about kindergarten?
Bretman Rock
Like, well, I mean, homeroom. Like, I think homeroom started for me in middle school.
Princess May
Oh, I. Mine started in elementary and middle school, but I think one book. Hello. What is that? That. That one caterpillar, bitch.
Bretman Rock
That's a fucking children's book, bitch.
Princess May
Hello.
Bretman Rock
The very hungry caterpillar.
Princess May
Mine started in a homeroom. In. In. In.
Bretman Rock
Okay, girl, you're acting like you're, like, years beyond me, bitch. We're only two years apart, sis. I will proudly say I graduated with a very high reading level, especially in 6th grade. I graduated 6th grade with a 10th grade leading reading comprehensive skill slash, like, score. And then by the time I was in middle school, I really, honestly gave up reading. I was like, I can only really read. I can read better than half you bitches. So I gave up. And also, I feel like the smarter you are with reading, the harder the books you would have to read for ar. So I literally, whenever I would take the test for. To get my reading comprehensive number, I would, like, purposely suck so that I don't have to read higher book levels.
Princess May
Mine was when I graduated sixth grade. It was sixth grade, and I think it stayed sixth grade till now.
Bretman Rock
Oh, period. Yeah, that'll be very exciting for the future episodes because like I said, every episode we're gonna be doing a different subject. Next episode, we're gonna be doing English class. And what do you do in English class? Drumroll, please.
Princess May
We're reading.
Bretman Rock
No, we're doing a spelling.
Princess May
Oh, my gosh.
Bretman Rock
Princess, May you have to finally, like, make up. This is for your revenge, art girl.
Princess May
Yeah. Yeah. Okay, okay, okay.
Bretman Rock
This is.
Princess May
I'm ready for it.
Bretman Rock
Do you finally know how to spell macchiato?
Princess May
Of course.
Bretman Rock
Find out next episode. Next week, girl. But anyways, Princess, what are you drinking today? That's a fat cup.
Princess May
Okay, I got the mango pineapple refresher.
Bretman Rock
And I'm drinking the tropical guava refresher. I feel like, nobody talks about the Dunkin Refreshers enough. Like, she's really that girl. I love getting Dunkin for, especially when I'm out running errands in town. And by the time I get to Dunkin, I have already probably drank my coffee of the day. I try my best not to drink too much coffee, and I feel like if I just need a little pick me up in my day. The Dunkin Refresher. I also love that they're customizable. May I recommend the green tea as the base? I feel like people try, like, this sparkling water. You can also even substitute it with lemonade. But when you do a green tea with the flavor that you want, the guava is really good. It just takes the energy there, you know what I mean?
Princess May
Mine says, really? This one is green tea also.
Bretman Rock
Is that your first time trying that flavor?
Princess May
Yeah, it is my first time trying this one. I never did the green tea. I think I've always tried the lemonade ones.
Bretman Rock
The lemonade bake. Yeah, that's fair. That's fair. I'm a caffeine addict, so, girl, give me everything. But, yeah, we'll be sipping on that. But, yeah, if you guys are looking for a summer drink, maybe even a drink before you head to school, try the Dunkin Refreshers, please. And literally, try the guava one, please. The mango one is my second fave. And throughout this series, we're gonna be trying out other flavors as well. So we'll let you know how we like them. But let's get back to homeroom princess. Since it's homeroom, I feel like first week of homeroom is always kind of like a syllabus week. So let's go through what we did in the summer.
Princess May
Okay.
Bretman Rock
What did you do this summer?
Princess May
Oh, okay. So first summer, we took the kids literally everywhere. We never tried hiking, though. That's what I really wanted to go. We wanted to go hiking.
Bretman Rock
Did the kids go hiking?
Princess May
No, we wanted to go.
Bretman Rock
I need to watch Ezekiel hiking. Girl, please. I need to know everything he says, because I already know the first step is gonna be.
Princess May
It's hot. We went to the beach. We went to the pool. We went to. Oh, my God. Where did we go?
Bretman Rock
Bitch? I went to the Big Island. Yeah.
Princess May
Oh, yeah. Well, it was only. Yeah, the Kiki Kingdom. We took the kids, like, all of the indoor playgrounds and stuff like that. But next year, I kind of. What I want to do is I want to take them to summer school. Oh, I feel like they would really enjoy that.
Bretman Rock
I love Summer school, Honestly.
Princess May
Yeah. And so I'm like, we should take them to summer school. And then, like, when they're done with summer school, we can take them, you know, like to the indoor playgrounds or. We've been going to the playground a lot because we live by a playground.
Bretman Rock
Yeah.
Princess May
And it's just been fun.
Bretman Rock
You're using it.
Princess May
Yeah, we. Yeah, that's basically all we did. Honestly. We just.
Bretman Rock
That sounds like a good summer. I feel like you definitely did what you said you were gonna do for the summer, the last episode, which is spend more time with the kids and, like, doing things for them and with them. Did you do anything for yourself this summer?
Princess May
Well, I'm doing it right now, period.
Bretman Rock
Oh, Queen. Well, yeah. Cause two of the kids are out of the mess. I see she has time to do it. My mom is also downstairs. I will be eating her sinigang after this break. Trust.
Princess May
Yeah. She's helping us. She's helping me watch Aulelei today.
Bretman Rock
Yes. How's the baby? Ms. Aulele is seven months. Oh, my God.
Princess May
God, she's growing up so fast. Like, can you believe she's going to be 1 years old in 4 months?
Bretman Rock
I can't even believe she's going to walk soon.
Princess May
Oh, in five months.
Bretman Rock
Like, what? That's crazy to me. What was the highlight of your summer?
Princess May
My highlight of the summer? Oh, my God, the kids. Conversations.
Bretman Rock
I'm tired. Conversations, girl. Period.
Princess May
Okay. My God, there's so much. What is one that I called you about? I swear I called you princess.
Bretman Rock
Always causes about these funny stories.
Princess May
Yeah, because, like, I don't want to be the only one laughing about it, but. Oh, my God. What is it? Wait, there's. Wait, wait, there's one. Tell me, Ezekiel. Okay. My baby. Okay. Alelay has this little. Her feet. Her. One of her toes goes like this.
Bretman Rock
Oh, yeah.
Princess May
Oh, wait. Did we talk about.
Bretman Rock
We talked about that.
Princess May
We did. Oh, okay. Wait, wait. What's another funny one? Well, what's another funny one?
Bretman Rock
Well, did you want to explain this drawing that Cleo made?
Princess May
Which one?
Bretman Rock
The. I'm sorry, Mommy.
Princess May
Yeah, let's do it.
Bretman Rock
Let's pull it up because you sent me this. What did Cleo do?
Princess May
Oh, no, this is. No.
Bretman Rock
Is this in the.
Princess May
No, I will be. Oh, this is from E. This is from E. This is from E. From. From Mother's Day. This is what she wrote. Well, Claire wrote, but easy. But Cleo said this is what Ezekiel told her to write, so. I will be a good boy, Mommy. I promise. Cleo's fingers and Ezekiel's fingerprints.
Bretman Rock
There's no more official sign than a fingerprint.
Princess May
Yeah, yeah, they're certified. They're like, oh, my God, I promise.
Bretman Rock
Did he actually fulfill that promise, though? Was he a good boy for the rest of the summer?
Princess May
Oh, no, no, no. Absolutely not.
Bretman Rock
Oh, my gosh.
Princess May
The kids are just so funny. And that really entertained me this whole entire summer. And that's why I miss them so much because, like, just nobody saying funny shit around us. And then like, oh, my God, I miss waking up to them and they're just like, hi, mommy, good morning. And I'd be like, did you guys.
Bretman Rock
Brush your teeth period okay, for me. Are you going to ask me what I fucking did this summer, bitch? Because I'm literally the only one asking you.
Princess May
Yeah, what did you do for summer, girl?
Bretman Rock
What did I not do this summer? I had so much fun during my one and a half month break from the baddest radio. I was actually like, craving to talk about so many things for the baddest radio, but I knew I needed to hold back. But I think one of the highlights for my summer would have to be Love Island. I. I love Love Island. Amaya Papaya Girl. If you guys check my TikTok and dated, I have been Amaya Papaya Stan since I would say I was one of her day ones before everybody like, fell in love with Amaya because at one point, especially the first couple episodes, a lot of people were like, she's so annoying. She's too much. Not me girl. I always have been a Namaya Papaya Stan. And I'm so happy she won.
Princess May
Me too.
Bretman Rock
I remembered I was asking you to because Huda reminds me of you in the best way.
Princess May
In the best way.
Bretman Rock
And it's so funny because when they had a family day and all her sisters were like, grilling her and just like making fun of her, I was like, this is literally me and Princess af. Also, her older sister is truly what I think I look like. Like, she's so beautiful. But what were your thoughts on Love Island?
Princess May
Honestly? I. I was. I feel like I have. Okay.
Bretman Rock
I try to grail myself off Ms. Huda's like her crash out moments. Yeah, you were like, relatable.
Princess May
Yeah. I'm like, oh my God, wait, is.
Bretman Rock
This play about me?
Princess May
But I feel like Huda's like, crush outs is like me. Like when I'm in a relationship, I feel like that's me, but I feel like I have my Papaya's like, energy. Her energy. Yeah. I was just Watching an interview. It was like, call me daddy. One.
Bretman Rock
Yes.
Princess May
Call her daddy or something.
Bretman Rock
So good. I was watching and then she.
Princess May
She asked Amaya, what do you think you're something? Because I was like, what's that? Too like. I was like, what's that?
Bretman Rock
What?
Princess May
There's like.
Bretman Rock
Oh, superlatives.
Princess May
Yeah.
Bretman Rock
Oh, let's do that. Superlatives in school, girl. Yeah. Were you any girl?
Princess May
I was the class clown, period.
Bretman Rock
I was class clown in sixth grade, too.
Princess May
Yeah.
Bretman Rock
Period. And then seventh and eighth grade, I was Mr. Aloha. And then high school. I was most likely to succeed. And did you?
Princess May
Seven. Eighth grade. I didn't. I didn't make it to eighth grade.
Bretman Rock
Okay. No, that's fair.
Princess May
Yeah. Wait, no, I did. I did. Actually.
Bretman Rock
It's high school. You didn't make it to.
Princess May
Yeah, freshman. I. I stopped going to school, but yeah, so 7 and 8. I don't think I. I don't think I made it in any of them, honestly.
Bretman Rock
And that's valid.
Princess May
I think I was best dressed. Just kidding, girl.
Bretman Rock
Best dress.
Princess May
I was just kidding, bitch. I was just kidding. Goddamn.
Bretman Rock
Best out of uniform, maybe, girl. Because you barely wore uniform.
Princess May
No, girl. I would always get caught in school.
Bretman Rock
And be like, oh, no. I was the same.
Princess May
They're like, can you go like this? That means your shorts are too short.
Bretman Rock
That was such a stupid rule.
Princess May
It was.
Bretman Rock
I'm like, what if I was like this? You know what I mean? Like, how you gonna tell me how high or long my skirt should be?
Princess May
Yeah, I'll be like, why are they looking at me in the first place?
Bretman Rock
Why you up in my skirt in the first place? But, yeah, Love island was really fun. I just came back from Japan. That was so, so, so much fun.
Princess May
I've been loving your trips, honestly. Cause I know I'm gonna get something. I'm getting something.
Bretman Rock
I forgot my little school bag today. But hopefully next episode I will have my school bag. I got it in Japan and I was there for two and a half weeks. No, two and a half weeks. I was there for two weeks, 10 days. And I miss it so much. I miss my Tokyo agenda of just, like, waking up, finding Matcha, shopping, eating lunch, shopping, eating dinner.
Princess May
Like, girl, were you there with 24?
Bretman Rock
I was there with my friends and justice was there. He left halfway through because personal work stuff. And I spent it. The rest with my friends. And it was just so fun and chill. I miss Kao, I miss Remy, I miss Ollie, I miss Alicia. I just miss Japan. It was so much fun. What is Your favorite thing I brought home.
Princess May
My favorite thing that you brought home was that little. I sent you a picture. I don't like wasabi. I'm sorry for those wasabi lovers. But, like, it had, like, a little taste of wasabi. But it was so good. It was like, girl, the one I sent you.
Bretman Rock
Oh. It was like one of those, like, arare. It had, like, a bunch of, like, things to try. It was just like, one of those samplers. I was surprised you like. What was it? I don't even care. I just got. Well, I actually.
Princess May
Yeah, yeah, okay. That was so good. And I was like, well, princess, this.
Bretman Rock
Is the podcast and they're not gonna be able to fucking see. But for those of you who are watching the video, she's talking about this. Let me come in the camera.
Princess May
What is that?
Bretman Rock
I don't even know, princess. But it's one of those, like. I just thought it was cute, like, to give away. I found it on Don. Don Donkey.
Princess May
It's good. It's really good. You need to try it. Yes.
Bretman Rock
Oh, the chicken skin. Yes. Period.
Princess May
It has, like, a little taste of wasabi. But then I was like. And when you keep eating it, it's like, okay, wait, it's actually good. I think it's intestines. Like, I think it's dried up intestines, period. I think so, you know? Yeah.
Bretman Rock
Okay. Speaking of, princess, let's go back to school stuff.
Princess May
Yes.
Bretman Rock
What was your best subject and what was your worst subject in school?
Princess May
This. My favorite subject was social studies.
Bretman Rock
Okay. And what does. What does social study teach you, princess?
Princess May
You know, the social of the studies, period.
Bretman Rock
What was your worst subject?
Princess May
Oh, my God. Math.
Bretman Rock
Ooh, Okay. I can't wait for the math episode.
Princess May
We're doing a math episode?
Bretman Rock
Yes. We're gonna find X. Oh, my God. Okay. My favorite subject would have to have been science. Honestly, I love science so much.
Princess May
I could see that. Yeah.
Bretman Rock
And my worst subject was English, believe it or not. I hated writing essays. I hated writing book reports. I loved reading. Reading was, like, one of the things that I enjoyed about English. But it was the whole, like, taking notes while reading. It was the whole, like, what is this book about? Type of shit. Like, I hated all that. And even just essays, I still could not be. I still literally could not sit there and write an essay and, like, make it make sense. A lot of run on sentences that I still struggle with. And. Yeah, very much that. Which is so funny because next episode is gonna be English.
Princess May
Can we just stay in homeroom?
Bretman Rock
I feel like My favorite. Were you. Were you. Were you always a fan of school?
Princess May
Honestly? No, I was not.
Bretman Rock
Why?
Princess May
I don't know.
Bretman Rock
It's just like, I love school. Really, Girl, I love.
Princess May
The thing is, like, my kids love school. Cleo loves school. And I love that about her because I'm like, okay, this. I could tell, like, she's not gonna.
Bretman Rock
Go to the same path, period. I love that she is also loving the school that she is. And now I know she struggled a lot.
Princess May
So that's why I kind of hated school was because, like, I was getting bullied so much that I just was very, like.
Bretman Rock
But, you know, mom was gonna. Not gonna make you, like, move school, girl. Yeah, we cannot afford it.
Princess May
Yeah. She was like, no, but, yeah, I. I honestly, I was looking forward from school is like, talking to the counselor. Counselors. Because, like, I was just a really sad, depressed kid. Honestly, growing up and being in school, I'm like, oh, my God. But, yeah, that's just how. That's how I experience elementary. But I think it got worse when I was in middle school. Middle school, I felt like I was trying to fit in so much because I was this emo kid. And, like, even you. Even you, right?
Bretman Rock
You were so mean to me, like an emo. Oh, I thought, oh, I'm mean to you. I mean, who wasn't, bitch?
Princess May
No. And I would see Bremen, like, in school, and I'm like. And I like, oh, my God, look, your brother. And then, girl, bravo. Just be walking away from me. Like, he's. He's like. He's like, ugh.
Bretman Rock
Because all your shit always came down to me, y'. All. Why the fuck did this bitch get a concussion from cheerleading practice? And I had to be the one that walks her concussed ass home. I had to get out of, like, track and field. That wasn't even it. Like, I remember when this bitch, like, stole something.
Princess May
Oh, my God.
Bretman Rock
I won't even get in the details. But the fact that, like, I hated the fact that her reputation had to bleed into mine. And I was, like, teacher's pet. I was in all the student council. I was in honor roll. I was in. I was literally secretary of my class. And anything that Princess did rain on my motherfucking parade, bitch.
Princess May
I was getting into trouble.
Bretman Rock
Why was I looking the other way? Because, bitch, I was like, if being Princess walked in the school, best believe I'm turning the other motherfucking way.
Princess May
Sometimes I feel like. I feel like when I would go to a new classroom, like, you know, the next grade, they'd be like, oh, second handed is your brother.
Bretman Rock
Yeah.
Princess May
And I was like, yeah. He's like, oh.
Bretman Rock
And they expect us to be the same. And, like, we're not.
Princess May
Well, okay. Like, yeah, I was getting into a lot of fights. I was. I was trying to be this.
Bretman Rock
Let her speak. Exactly.
Princess May
I was trying to be this character that I was not. And I really wish I stick to my truth and my authentic self, but I was.
Bretman Rock
I feel like at one point you were. But I think because everybody around your grade didn't really share the same interests as you.
Princess May
Yeah.
Bretman Rock
Maybe that's why I think I grew up with a lot of, like, cool, really amazing friends that I still hang out with today. You hang out with them now? Kat hangs out with them, too. So I think I was also, like, not to, like, talk bad about your class or stuff like that, but I just grew up with a lot of, like, amazing people.
Princess May
Oh, sure.
Bretman Rock
And mature and, like, driven people. And that's not. That's not available for everybody.
Princess May
Yeah. And honestly, I felt like I was hanging out with, like, older kids, too, sometimes because, like. But then I felt used, too, and I felt like I was not. I was not. I felt like school was, like, nothing and everybody enjoyed it, but I didn't. And I was trying to become this person, and I wasn't happy.
Bretman Rock
Even the whole counselor thing. Like, Gary, I know you were, like, always hanging out with the counselors.
Princess May
Yes, I was.
Bretman Rock
Me too. But we were hanging out with them for opposite reasons. Like, I would hang out with them because I had so many free classes, because I got all my credits really early on, before I even blew up as Brettman Rock. I was always just kind of like the teacher's. And whenever I had a free subject, I would literally go to the counselor's office and we would just, like, spill tea or just talk about our day. You were there because you were in trouble.
Princess May
Yeah, I was in there because I was in trouble. Or I'm venting to a teacher, like, things that you know. But, yeah, honestly, I wish I did take myself. I really wish I could go back in school and really take school very serious and really just.
Bretman Rock
Girl, you don't wish to go back to school.
Princess May
I do. I honestly do.
Bretman Rock
Girl, please.
Princess May
I do.
Bretman Rock
Okay. Go back to, like, high school.
Princess May
No, like, ge. Like, do my ged. Like, school.
Bretman Rock
Like, you might, like, go back to school. Like, do it again.
Princess May
No, I would not do it again. But I definitely feel like I would have taken. I should have taken, like, my education, like, seriously and, like, not even Listen to what anybody has to say. Because like now growing up, me grown and like, people still judging me, I'm like, okay, like people are going to judge me no matter what. And I felt like I will say.
Bretman Rock
You can go back to school whenever you want, princess. Period. Okay. So in homeroom we talked about how we always write in our planners about our intentions for the day and homework that we have coming up. What are your homeworks and intentions for the next couple of weeks of summer school for the baddest radio princess. Maybe learning how to spell more. Maybe unpacking like school trauma.
Princess May
Yes, all of that. And really share with you guys my experience with school. And I, I'm sure somebody can relate to what I'm talking about. And you know, it's like, yes, there's.
Bretman Rock
Other high school dropouts out there. There's other girl.
Princess May
You really have to say dropout girl.
Bretman Rock
I'm college dropout. I'm a dropout as much as you are like, so I'm sure there's ones out there that are dropouts like us that would probably relate and miss school and like, relate to our school stories in general. I'm excited to spend time with you and like go through all these like, subjects. I feel like school was a very touchy subject for the both of us. We both obviously had different experiences as we should. But yeah, next episode we are going to be covering English class. I cannot wait for you guys to watch that episode. Also, before we head out, I want to just say the schedule for the next couple of weeks. This is going to be an eight episode series. This is episode one. So yeah, I will see you guys next whenever this video will go out and I will see you guys in English class. Aloha. Bye Beat. I'll see you next Thursday. Embracing the series' summer school theme, the duo sets the stage for an engaging exploration of educational experiences, personal growth, and the lessons learned both inside and outside the classroom.
Bretman Rock kicks off the episode with his signature enthusiasm:
"[00:01] Bretman Rock: The following podcast is a Dear Media production Action. Ring, ring, ring. Oh, my gosh. The bell is ringing, everybody. It is none other than Summer School time with the baddest radio."
Bretman and Princess May playfully discuss what they would like to be called if they were teachers, highlighting their personalities and sense of humor.
Bretman Rock muses:
"[00:33] Bretman Rock: ...who was my second grade teacher, but none other than Ms. Princess."

"[00:50] Princess May: Ms. May."
This light-hearted exchange sets a relaxed tone for the episode, emphasizing the hosts' camaraderie and relatable approach to discussing school topics.
The conversation shifts to homeroom routines, where both hosts share their personal experiences and memories.
Bretman Rock reminisces:
"[02:28] Bretman Rock: ...we're covering a different topic. This episode, obviously, the subject says homeroom."
Princess May adds:
"[02:54] Princess May: Same thing. Agendas. We're writing down the date and, like, basically, not just the agendas. And also I think homeworks. Homeworks that we're gonna do."
They discuss the typical homeroom activities, such as setting daily intentions, planning agendas, and assigning homework, providing listeners with a glimpse into their school routines.
Transitioning from school to summer activities, Bretman and Princess May share how they spent their summers, particularly focusing on parenting and family time.
Princess May reflects:
