Welcome to Dear Alice, a lifestyle approach to interior design.
B
Hello, everyone. Welcome to Dear Alice. This is a very fun and anticipated episode for the team here at Alice Lane. We are going to be talking about the gift guide from 2024. This is our version of Oprah's Favorite Things.
A
I so look forward to that. And I still do. And I'm just like, if she advocates for it, then surely. And she's advocated for something for that many years in a row.
B
Yeah, still good. Well, and I have to say, we are a team of people that love to give gifts. We think very hard about the person and try to get the right thing. And I feel like as we're developing product, we're doing the same thing. So I'm so excited to just put the right thing in the right pocket and share all of that with you today. So those of you that are tuning in via Apple podcast or Spotify, YouTube. Yep. You're going to want to watch this episode because before us sits a Thanksgiving table full of gifts. We are going to show you, like, 80% of the things that we're talking about today as we tell you about why this is the perfect gift for the different types of people in the categories that we're talking about today. So this is a visual feast, and hopefully those of you tuning in, listening will do a good job to describe what it is, too. But I feel really high energy and excited about this.
A
So excited.
C
Me, too. But first, before we get into it, I just said we all love gifting. That's why we do this. What are you guys looking forward to this gifting season?
A
Oh, man. I think because I just have, like, these. All these. These kids, this brood of boys. Right. I just have, like, Lego minifigs and just, like, collections and things that I'm, like, looking forward to them because they've been asking for a long time, and so they're going to be so excited. So, of course, like, I'm thinking about them because they're just always top of mind. So probably my kids and, like, holidays are just more fun because of kids.
B
It's for the kids. Yeah, for the kids.
A
And, like, no one's more excited for Christmas than kids are.
B
The magic is still in, alive in their eyes, guys.
A
The elf on the shel. Like, we are in full swing.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, and I have, like, really animated kids. So, like, that's what I'm looking forward to is just, like, their faces and their excitement and it's just, like, next level. So, yeah, that's what I'm looking forward.
C
To what about you, Jess?
B
I love the wrapping.
C
I think it's because like you want to wrap all. That's my least favorite part. So I'll bring mine over especially in.
A
Little Kidland and get smaller in the gifts.
B
But there's also part of the wrapping where you've already thought of the perfect thing. And so now the shopping and all the mayhem is done and you're just like you put on a good movie and you get all the supplies out and you use the coffee table as your surface and you're sitting Indian style.
C
It's a good idea.
B
And you just have all of the best holiday and you're not in a hurry and you get to wrap these things and make them beautiful. And I love to tie a little something on top too. So I'm usually trying to think of like what's the little accoutrement, the little toy, the little something for those that will appreciate it. Right. Like it's. You don't want it to be lost on somebody. But it's just so fun and then it's so fun to carry the pile of things and tuck em under the tree while you're and then get to the next, you know, few that you're going to wrap. And I don't know, it's just really gratifying and it makes the holidays feel like the holidays when you have the tree with like little wrapped gifts and the kids can anticipate like what is it right under the tree? I don't know. I love wrap boxes. Yeah.
C
Or be like me when I was a kid and I'd like carefully peel the tape and like wrap it back. I'm surprised I'm not better at wrapping gifts because I re wrapped a ton of them.
B
A kid Corey's like spray mounting it.
C
Yeah.
B
So that they just cannot peel it up.
C
Nothing was peel the paper. I'd like make sure the tape line back up so you can see where the paper.
A
Yeah. Criminal. Yeah.
B
That's cute. How about you Corey?
C
I would say, I mean obviously kids, I'm super excited about that. I feel like with kids you feel like a kid again during Christmas because it's so amazing. But I'm going to say something specific. My best friend who I don't know watches the listens to the podcast. Uh, for the last couple of years he's been like trying to be a better gift giver which is very commendable and he's got me gifts and I did not get him a gift the last two years.
B
That's so sweet.
C
So I'm gonna.
B
If I'm thinking of the right guy. He's single too, right?
C
He is.
B
So this isn't like his wife telling him, you need to be a better gift giver and think harder?
C
No.
B
This is just all coming from a desire within his own heart. That's really cool. That's cute.
C
You know what?
B
We should set him up with somebody really thoughtful.
C
We should.
B
He deserves that.
A
Yeah, we have a whole building of them.
B
Ladies in your 30s, can you raise your hand out there?
C
We doing before he comes in?
B
Oh, my gosh.
A
It's like our own version, Allison. Version of the Bachelor.
C
Yes.
B
Oh, my God, yes.
A
So good.
B
Yeah.
C
So I'm going to think of something thoughtful for him. Thoughtful for him? Yeah. And just make it, I don't know, just something that would really be not only, like, up his alley, but maybe, like, push him a little bit, too. You know what he got me last year was his book of, like, called Don't Sweat the Small Things. And it's just like a one page little thing of, like, you can apply in your daily life. And I've been trying to read one a day. There's like 200 and something, so I haven't done it all yet. So I haven't been doing it every day. So it was just very thoughtful. And I was like, man, he's trying to enrich my life. I want to do the same for him.
A
Love that.
B
So, yeah, that's cute.
C
So it's in the back of my mind percolating.
B
I love that. Okay.
A
So much to look forward to. Okay. All right. Going to set the table here. We actually have set the table. So when we think of, like, the ultimate gift guide, we're going to go through all the people that you guys need to be gifting, aside from your children. You should know their gifts. We're not going to talk about them today. We're talking about us. So we are going to first start off with gifts for your mom and dad. What do you give mom and dad? I. Ladies and gents?
B
Well, I think. I think sort of drifting off that podcast we did on your mom in the digital picture frame and how my mom loves all the physical photos. I just feel like a memory is something that's so dear to our parents. And it's the stories that they're telling, and it's the things that they keep in front of their face and their heart, and they love to tell those stories. So if somebody comes over that, they're like, what was this? Or who's this? New little grandbaby. And then they get to say, oh, this is Jake and Kaylee's daughter. This is Penny. And she was. She's two now. Can you believe it's just like, what's that? There's a Brian Regan skit where he's talking about how his grandma or his mom goes to the wrong door and another grandma opens the door and he's like. It's like two dogs staring at each other through a fence, right? And they just like. He's like, 20 minutes later, these are two strangers, and they're sitting there talking because they're both grandmas, you know? But I really do think that our parents could talk to anybody about their grandkids. It's their life's joy. And so I think those memories, however you want to frame them and have them live on, whether it be digital, whether it be physical, I feel like our crystal frame collection is a winner. Whatever personality they are, if they're a more simple person, I think the Crystal Ages fun or Crystal Edge is fun. That's my personal favorite. I have that in both sizes in my house, and I have some of my most prized things in it. And every time I put it in a client's home and put anything in it, it looks amazing. It's not too much of anything. However, comma, the crystal orb frame, which we have here on the table, is everybody's favorite. And we have this in 8 by 10 and 5 by 7.
C
The 8 by 10 is in landscape and portrait as well, which is really.
A
Important because, like, a lot of photographers say you're a grandma and you finally got, like, the family picture. A lot of photographers will just, like, print or, like, take more landscape view than portrait view. You're like, oh, I don't want to, like, clip little Timmy, you know, on the side for portrait. So anyway, that was, like, a common request. We kept getting like, please get in portrait. Please get in landscape. Both. I need.
B
If you have a family photo and you have a lot of people, of course it's going to be portrait.
C
Yeah.
B
Or, sorry, landscape. My apologies. Landscape. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it comes in every format. So you already have the photo and you just need to work with it. You know who your parents are, if they are a crystal or person. Corey, do you want to hold that one up?
C
Yes.
B
I mean, as if. As if you can't see it. But this one is just like magic. It's so good. It's dimensional, it's happy, and it'll be really fun for them to open. It's going to look good with any decor because it's completely crystal, crystal clear. And yeah, it's beautiful from the front and the back. So I think a memory is great. You could even put a love note in there. And Suz has. She has a favorite client who on his first date with his wife, they went to a Nelly concert and so he framed the concert ticket from their first date and it's in his office.
C
That's rad.
B
Not in a crystal frame, but you could frame. What do you call it?
A
Like, like any, like little love notes, any tickets. Any. Like, you can also even like, the photo strips are so cute. I have so many to do that.
B
Yeah.
A
But just having that, you can put.
B
Three of them in a crystal edge frame or whatever. So it's a memory point, not just a photo. So keep that in mind. Is your. That could be a really good one for your husband too. But I just think, yeah, memories make really great gifts because they're so steeped in meaning.
A
You guys, we have this competition in my house on Christmas morning because we still all open presents together. Like my mom, my sister, my. All the cousins. Like, it's a big hurrah. It's not like a private little intimate thing. It's a big thing. It's always the thing. Like, who can get grandma and grandpa to cry first? They win. And Kylie, my niece, always wins. She always wins. But I think I won last year when I gave the 8 by 10 crystal landscape frame to my mom and I printed out. We had like a photo shoot when my grandma was still alive of us making peanut brittle. And they're like these can moments that are beautiful and they're black and white and anyway, I printed the one of like her and her mother, like in the middle of peanut butter, which is such a memory point. And I put it in the crystal frame and that will never leave her mantle. So the light has been just like it's beautiful. So really trying, like the candid moment I think is honestly the more beautiful because the crystal is just so immaculate. Than to have something that's a little loose, I think is what makes that magical. Anything looks good in it. But that would be my suggestion. Suggestion. Because it really, like it drew tears. It was really, really good. So memory is like the most powerful.
B
That's so good.
A
So good.
B
Okay. Well, not as emotional, but equally as important is a new set of sheets for your parents. Because we spend a third of our life in bed as you know, and really, truly, like sleeping great is something that we all are just like elbow everything out of the way that is not going to allow us to sleep. Good.
C
So true.
B
And it's so important. And I think I feel pampered, spoiled when I have new sheets.
A
Oh, my gosh.
B
You know, there's just something so fresh about it and you just get so excited. Like, I would want to run and put those on my bed first thing after Christmas morning is done and breakfast is had that you're like, I just want to go crawl in bed and watch a movie now. So I think a new set of sheets is a fantastic gift. People often overlook it or they won't spend money on themselves.
C
I think that's the best gift.
B
But it's cost per use.
C
Yes.
B
Nothing's going to be more useful than a new set of sheets. Yeah.
A
And I will say, like, not even new. Well, like, of course you can give them new sheets, but like, I still, like, mine aren't new, but they're good. If you have good sheets.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, it will be the gift that keeps giving because sometimes people just keep buying new sheets because they're not that good and they have to keep buying new sheets. Get them good sheets.
B
Yeah, great sheets.
A
That's something that your parents likely aren't doing for themselves.
B
So we have two sets of sheets here at Alice Lane that we both fight over. Which is the best. What's your favorite?
A
Sue Leap Co. Linen.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. The Santiago and White. It's like. And we've been trying out different sheets for like the last 16 years.
B
Yeah.
A
From all different brands.
B
You always go back to it.
A
I do. And like, it's the ones that like, have that fit the mattress the best, that, like, don't crawl up, that don't have to be replaced because of like, someone's feet.
C
Anything more annoying when you roll over and that folds off and you're like, oh, man.
A
Like an ill tailored jacket. Right. Like, it's the worst.
B
So I'm just like, straight jacket, jacket.
A
Just like when you feel like you're camping and you're like, loosey, goosey, like, keep those things anyway. So, yeah, good sheets. Linen from Leco is like, bar none. It's my very, very favorite. And a lot of people are saying to yourself, linen's scratchy, uncle. No, it's not. Not this. She set. The Santiago in white is perfect, in my opinion. And get like, if you can have a couple sets rotating and that way it just always feels new. And.
B
And if you know how they. If you know how they sleep too, I would. I usually will get the sheet Set, which comes with two pillowcases and then get an extra set of cases because everybody has four pillow on their bed. You know what I mean? So just go ahead and take it the extra mile if you want to. Yeah, I love that one. The other favorite sheet set is the Maloof bamboo Tencel. And it is just. Suzanne calls it the slippery dolphin.
A
Slippery little dolphins your legs like the best.
B
Yeah. And you're going to sleep four times cooler than cotton. And it's also got this silky hand to it. It's not silky and slippery like silk. Yeah, yeah. It definitely has more weight and more staying powerful as far as like, just like staying put on the bed. But it does have a silky hand to it. And I'm currently sleeping in the bamboo. I actually love switching off like when I wash those that I put bamboo on because then I keep feeling the difference between the two and I love them both equally. But you know, if your parent is more particular about the hand of things as they really like soft and silky and they're refined, they might love that. But the linen has got a real breathability. I don't know. It's great in the winter and in the summer it's like. It's got a nice little weight to it. Yeah, yeah.
A
It's my. Ironically, like a lot of guys like something like silky or more hotel bedding. This crisp.
B
Yeah, almost.
A
The linen, it will.
B
It is not a crisp look. So you have to have a mom that's like organic and relaxed. Yes, exactly. She's a Nancy Myers. Then. Then that's great. My mom is like, would iron our underwear. I swear, growing up, she loves to iron. I don't know why it's. It's because I think it's one thing in life that can be per. And she must have ironed for a job or something because she's like pro level. If there's an ironing competition, she'd win it for sure. She'd be the top starch.
A
A spray starch.
B
Yeah. I'm just saying she's not a linen sheet girl because she just loves a crisp line. Or she'd be ironing those daily. So you know who your parent is. Just get the right sheets. Those are our personal favorite at this table for all the years we've ever been in business. That is definitely our Disneyland fast pass to you in sheet buying.
A
And I would say, like, for. If your significant other asks what you want, you want sheets?
B
Yes. Just say sheets.
A
I'll say that right now.
B
Yeah, definitely.
A
And then it's a Gift for both of you, so.
B
Or get the sheets shortcut. You give him sheets.
C
Oh, hey.
B
And then you have him get you something that he'll be so happy.
A
But really it was for you the whole time.
C
Yeah.
B
It's for both of you. Yeah, it's good. So good.
A
So good.
B
Another good one is our book display.
A
Let's talk about it.
B
Yes. This is. Okay. So we've always had in Lucite, this book display. And then we just launched like a month or two ago. The book display in blush and in chocolate and still loose sight.
C
Just not clear.
A
A little tour of that edge detail.
B
Yeah. So good. This is really fun because I've seen women use this as a cookbook holder to hold open their recipe. You can have your favorite book on it. You could have a photo album on it. This is the thing that's on the coffee table that you want to boast. Whatever beautiful pages. Maybe they just went to Italy and on their travels and they got a book and it's open to that. I just think it's a way to celebrate really beautiful images and they can constantly be flipping between it. We also love to adorn the open book with either the Harper hand or you could even put in like a strand of beads for them to adorn. The open. You know that open spine with your.
A
Old paintbrushes, I think are really pretty.
B
Oh, cute.
A
Really fun to do.
B
Yeah. You could tie something on top of the book cradle. It comes packed flat. You could give them the book cradle. A book, you know, they would love. Tie it all up since I love to wrap. And then you put the object like the old paintbrushes tied on top or something. An old calligraphy brush.
A
Amazing.
B
Beautiful.
A
Like whatever their interest is turquoise beads.
B
Oh, it just looks so good on the cocktail table.
A
What my mother.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. We did. We have these in the acrylic, but we also have them in walnut. And my mom loves like a stain grade.
B
Yes.
A
That's the walnut book cradle on the website. We don't have it right here, but it's amazing. It's so pretty. Pretty. And it's really robust. And so I gave my mom that and I gave her the See the world beautiful photography book by Ann Mickey that just has like beautiful human pictures and like around the world, you know, from an amazing photographer. And then we had like these old. The antique rolling pins. There were just some small ones. And so I gave her that because she's like, she's a cook and she does donuts and all the things. And so that's what's in between her. She's the walnut with Ann Mikey. And then she has so pretty. The cute little rolling pin center. So you can really cater it as far as just, like, upping your level of just, like, what's going to be the memory point? What's going to be, like, the love note in this gift? Like, that is it. And honestly, you can put a love note in the book, which is actually. I love it, actually. When I open up a book, like, without the jacket, and I see, like, handwriting from somebody, I'm just like, oh, don't throw that away. I need to remember that's there. So nobody donates it to Di because, like, that's a great love note. And we. My mom used to always do that. I give you Dr. Seuss and, like, write on the COVID Yeah.
B
That's thoughtful. Let's bring that back. Everybody.
A
Bring that back. Write a little.
B
Let's start writing in books.
A
I love that.
B
That's great. That's a really great gift. That's thoughtful and emotional. Like the picture frame. Yeah. But then you're finding a way of presenting the book, which is the book cradle. Whatever is their personality.
A
You could even within that book, if there's something that reminds you of that person, you can get a picture of yourself. Just print off a little picture and just throw it in as a bookmark. Anybody just. I just love finding little notes like that that I leave for myself sometimes.
B
Yeah.
A
Unconsciously. And I'm like, I'm so glad I found that. Looking for that for years. But that was a really cute bookmarker. I love that we're never going to get through this list.
B
The next one is the Darling necklace display. I put this on here for the parent, for the mom, because our moms always have things that are precious. It's the wedding day necklace. It's her mom's jewelry. It's. Or it's maybe just her everyday jewelry if she loves it. The darling necklace holder is named after my grandma, whose name's Darlene and I. It's black marble. And so any necklace you put on it is just going to set it off like it's on display. It might be grandma's old wedding pearls. It might be whatever your mom's into. Tennis necklace, whatever. But the more the merrier on these things. Multiple lengths. It looks so great in her closet if she has an island or just a shelf to put it in. Or maybe it's just her vanity, where she's getting ready or where she keeps her jewelry. Beatrice Etagere is where I keep my mine. So I just drape all my everyday necklaces on it. It's just like hold your necklaces for you, but they also look like they're on display and they look fancy and you feel like you're shopping every day of your life. Tangled.
C
Yeah, I was just gonna say that.
A
Tangled necklace.
B
Yeah, it's way better than these just hidden in a drawer. So you put your favorites on it or the most meaningful ones on it. And it's a beautiful big carved piece of marble. And so pulling it out is going to be a lovely gift on Christmas morning and super thoughtful. And you could write a note to go with it if you know the necklaces that she should put on. But I think mom would be really excited about that. Yeah.
A
Okay, next. Next on the list.
B
This is one of Susan's favorites, guys.
A
We talked about it before, but we do.
B
Well, I have to say this is a brand new product that by the time this podcast comes out will have launched. So on the table sits before you a brand new.
A
It's just elevated tray.
B
Elevated tray on beautiful feet. And it's long enough final to hold dish soap, hand soap and lotion and your scrub brush. But it's in Calcutta Viola, do you want to hold up the postage stamp and show them the type of marble? And then sue, tell them it's also.
C
Going to be Bianco Carrera too. So your wife Marble beautiful.
A
Every kitchen.
B
So everybody knows the Calcutta Viola that Corey's holding up right now, if you're watching is like the marble. It's the it marble right now in kitchens, it's a grade five. And so most budgets get killed before people can move forward with it. So we were like, let's just make little things. Things out of it. And then you'll have it in your kitchen even though you maybe couldn't afford the countertops. And it is so crazy gorgeous. I'm so excited about this.
A
And I was so excited when they brought this out. I was just like, oh, my gosh, it is long enough for like, because I need to have my dish soap there because I'm always washing bottles, always washing things. And I have the tatine soap, which we've talked about it before. This is just like the creme de la creme of soaps, especially in the pine. Orange is my favorite scent. It's my mother's favorite scent. I've gotten it for her.
C
It's legit.
A
It's legit. And it stays with you. You know, when you find a candle that has like stretching power and staying power. That is this soap and lotion for me, like if someone's coming to the door, I quickly throw on some lotion. I'm just like, I feel flawless. So. So I could not speak enough good things about the tin, the soap and the lotion. It's amazing. Pine orange. Get it for you. Get it for your mother.
B
Guys, we have get it for your. As a hostess, we have ordered this for ourselves at the store as well as for inventory for the web. If you shop this gift collection early, I'm hoping that it will not be sold out yet. Is so hard to get. We buy so much of it. It sells really fast. It is a beautiful black glass opaque bottle and the branding is gorgeous. But what Suz is saying, the smell of it, you will be smelling your hands. You cannot believe how it's a strong smell. So you're going to smell it. You're going to think that you burned a candle and all you did was wash your hands or do dishes or whatnot. So they look incredible. It's a very good gift for maybe a practical mom. She's going to come in contact. All of these things are practical as far as like cost per use. They're going to use them daily, they're going to think of you often and they are, they are crowd tested and they are loved by everyone.
A
Yep.
B

A
Really quickly on this tray, I have one about this length at my kitchen counter. Great length. That holds the soap. It holds the lotion that holds my dish soap. But the problem is it sits flat against my countertop. So what happens? Water gets underneath there and it gets all gross and gunky. It's still marble, but it's not, like, as good as it can be. But now that we have it lifted, you're not going to have that issue anymore. So, like, it really solved the problem. While looking so beautiful in Viola, I just couldn't be happier. And I definitely. Yeah, I'm definitely putting that in my stocking for myself.
B
Yeah.
A
And I'm getting it from my favorite people because I think it's amazing.
B
So good. So such a good save.
A
You're welcome.
B
I just want to say along with that, that on Amazon, y'all can buy my favorite dish soap. And that is from Caldrea, and it's called Rosewood Driftwood. Smells like Jo Malone herself came and cleaned your kitchen. It's a dish soap, but when you're doing the dishes with it, your whole kitchen smells like you burnt a cat, Burned a candle. Rosewater, dishwater, Rose water, dishwasher. Guys, if you have to have, like, a favorite things gift or like, something to give a neighbor really quick, that's not exp. In fact, if Black Friday, if they have a. Anyway, I buy this stuff by the bottles, like, multiples at a time because it's the one easy gift to run to a neighbor or anything. It's in great taste.
C
What's the brand again?
B
Caldrea. C A L D R E A. Okay, Right.
C
I'm remembering that for myself, guys.
B
It's so good. I just have to give you, like, a few of these Amazon plugs, but I would put the Caldrea on the same. You have room for the dish soap on this and the bot. The packaging is going to be beautiful on the Viola.
A
Pretty.
B
So pretty. Even if you just gave that with the, um, it's not super expensive. And it's a game changer because doing dishes is a chore. So it. You should make it lovely. Light yourself a candle, use the right stuff, and then just Be like, y'all go ahead and have a good time. I'll just be here doing dishes. But really, it smells so good. You'll be happy. Just be alone with your thoughts.
A
Yeah. People of our mother's generation, too, like, that's what they value is just, like, the practicalities and the things that, like, they're just like, oh, that other thing. It's just too much. Yeah, get me some soap. Get them to teen.
B
Get them to team three. Yes. Totally.
A
Give them something that they'll appreciate in their everyday. I love that.
B
Love that, too. Last thing we have for mom and dad is our curiosity collection. These. These are items that we. That we developed because we wanted to be able to have little gifts or little objects in the home that have kind of deeper meaning. They're almost like a fortune cookie. It's, like, really cute at first glance, but then there's this deep meaning that comes with it, or you make up whatever meaning goes along with their lives. But they're like little tokens. They're like Monopoly pieces for the game of life. You know what I mean? And then you get to assign the meeting, and then they put it on a mantle or they put it on a nightstand or whatever. And so a few that we have here are. The horse.
A
I love the horse. It's, like, mastered after a gift that I gave Jess, like, one Christmas because she's hard to give gifts to, if you can imagine that. She owns a store, like, knows all things lovely and luxury. So I'm like, I always get her art. And I found a proto or one like this at a gallery. And anyway, everyone just kept always asking you, always.
B
And it's been my beloved favorite thing. And I want it on my mantle, but then I want it on my center hall table. But then if I'm shooting this little thing on the Lucas side, I go grab the little horse. I take this with me everywhere. Whenever I had a photo shoot that I was like, why don't we just make a horse? Because also, there's people that are horsemen. There's people that have stories about grandma and grandpa. It's just also peaceful. It's a beautiful figure. I just think so many people relate to it, and it's been one of our best sellers. Yeah.
A
And it has strength.
B
They're not. These aren't super expensive, but I think you could write a love note with a curiosity and give it to a parent or a step parent or somebody who's a parent figure or a girlfriend or whatever. But we love a Curiosity. Another favorite one Is the gold bar. This is something that I found in original in Palm Springs when I was vintage shopping. And then we set out to make a prototype of it and make it available. And people forever have been like, why are you decorating in gold bars? What is this? And it's says unreal on it because it's obviously not real. But it's just so fun. And you can tell people that, you know, that they're golden or that they're solid gold or make up a story about it. Men love it as a paperweight.
C
Good fortune for the new year, you know what I mean?
B
So many great meaning. Yes, it's great. And if you need to borrow a meaning on our website, there's a little fortune cookie of a note that talks about what the gold bar means, like strength and all of the things. So you can borrow the meaning from the website on the curiosities.
A
I got three of them for my brother in law because I drew his name last year.
B
You got him three gold bars for Will. I love you because.
A
Yeah, because he has everything. He got him like, I'm like, what.
B
Do I get for Will?
A
And I'm like a sack of gold bars anyway. And I like won the gift giving for sure. Hello. He keeps him at his office just sitting there. It's an. It's a fear tactic.
B
I love it. Yeah, Power play. That suits him too. Okay, so those are a few ideas we have for mom and dad. We're going to move on to gifts for the lover. So Taylor Swift. Yes. So good. So first up we have the Darlene necklace holder. Again, I think this is really lovely for her. We also have ideas for him. But I think getting her this. You could also get her a necklace that she's had her eye on or a gift card so that she can go get the thing that she wants to wear around her neck for the year. I feel like, I feel like necklaces are such a big deal right now. You just realize that your favorite length is 18 inches. 20 inches. It used to be that 16 inches was the thing.
A
And now layering, I think like I.
B
Need a 16 and a 20. Yeah. Yeah.
A
Because like the 18 and the 16 just get too tangled up.
B
Yeah.
A
In my opinion. So like I like a 20 and I think it looks really pretty.
B
You kind of need to figure out what your stack is. Right. I mean you can wear one necklace, but I think the combination of two is kind of of really great.
A
I feel like we all have one that we always keep on like and.
B
Just shower in it and Everything. Yeah.
A
See it or anything, but it's just like. It's my necklace.
B
Close to your heart.
A
Yeah, exactly.
B
Yeah.
A
And if I did take it off, I'd put it on Darlena, and I think that's such a beautiful gift.
B
Yeah.
A
Also with Darlena, we have these beautiful glasses.
B
Darlene. Darlene.
A
Oh, my God.
B
She's named after grandma. Darlene. Darlene.
A
I'm so sorry, Grandma.
B
Yeah.
A
We have the glass box that goes over it, which I think is so pretty.
B
The brass line display box. If we made perfectly fit Fancy lover. The. The Darlene necklace holder. So it sits on a black marble platform, and then this brass line glass display box goes over it. So it's like she has a jewelry store in her closet.
C
You know what I mean?
B
Yes.
C
Yeah.
B
That's fancy.
A
P.S. it would be so rad for him. I know we said for her, but, like, men are having such a moment with, like, chains and necklaces. How rad would that look?
C
I have chains with chains on that.
B
Yeah.
C
Hello.
A
Money back.
C
Yes.
A
That would look incredible. Underline.
B
So good.
A
So good. So it could be a gift for him. If you know your husband, you know, he'd appreciate it. I think that's a great gift for him also. And it's black marble. Strength, power.
B
I like it. Yes.
A
I love it.
B
Susan's flexing her hand while she says that. For those of you just listening. Yeah. For her, this is a power move. The Odette stool is our Lucite footstool. It's fantastic. It goes in her closet so she can reach the suitcase or the hats or the winter clothes, or she can just get up there and get the. The stuff down, put boxes up, whatever. She just. It's like she doesn't have to have a little steps tool. This just sits permanently.
C
The kitchen, like, for, you know, the cabinets, like, up high. Kids that maybe kind of help.
A
They need help getting to the sink.
C
Yeah, exactly.
B
Yeah. It's so beautiful. I also will sit down on the foot stool to pull my tall boots on or to pull those jeans off. You know what I mean? Mine is not only a foot stool, but it's also a chair, and I love it. I also, like. I kick my little slippers underneath it, and then I. That's where I always know that they are. It's kind of like having a set of stairs in your closet, and you can use the surfaces for different things, so it's more practical than even being practical. But it looks like Wonder Woman's glass Corvette just sitting in your closet.
C
So rad.
B
Yeah. It's. It's. It's kind of a luxury splurge. But if you don't have it, I'd ask for it for Christmas because it will really up your game in your closet 100% time.
A
So, guys, all these marble collection, they are solid. It is not synthetic, is not hollow core. It is full body.
C
100%.
A
100% marble. When we were thinking about, like, what are our favorite things, I said this one just because I think it's so cute. Every time I see Petra specifically on a nightstand in the showroom, I'm like, it's just like a boop of a thing. And it just looks like you had like this really soft, un unheard marble and you just went boop. And just like a little pinch pop made a dimple. It makes a dimple. And it's just like the perfect like to just like throw your jewelry on at the end of the day. I just think it's like the cutest thing for a nightstand.
B
Yeah.
A
Just love Petra. I mean, she looks beautiful. I know. We can turn her. Isn't Petra. We can turn her on end.
B
No, that is the Petra sculpture, which we. We cut the bottom flat on that so you could stand it up.
A
So cool.
B
And I love the Petra sculpture with a candle right in front and it dances across that dimple.
A
Light play.
B
It's very sexual. Yeah.
A
Gorgeous. For his nightstand.
B
I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding, Mom. No, it's. It looks really pretty on the pedestal, but also on a coffee table with that lit. It's so foxy. I'm so glad that you love Petra. I love her too.
A
I love Petra. I want her in every client's home. Because I'm like, they're the whole. Also space is elevated.
B
Let's give a shout out to the stone of Petra. Purple Carrera.
C
Yes.
B
It's great. And we all know purple veins are like the rage because we're doing the Calcutta viola. And then this is the purple Carrera. So it's a little bit more affordable stone than the Calcutta viola. Yeah. But gets all of the PowerPoints for doing the right thing at the right time. And it's big, beautiful, heavy, bullnose edge with that pillow surface to put to drop your bracelets or your everyday jewelry in at the end of the day on your nightstand. So great.
A
It just feels so artful and it's not too literal.
B
Yeah.
A
You know, I. I think I like the ambiguity of that. That you can use it for lots of things and it looks pretty naked. Like you don't have to do anything to her. And she's darn.
B
Yeah. Truly. So just let her sit there.
A
Yep, just let her sit there.
B
Or fil fill it with candy. Who cares? It's great.
A
Love that mint.
B
Can you hold up the princess hand?
A
Soon the marble. I was just like, can you give the people princess.
B
Ladies and gentlemen, I want to say.
C
I'll let you display it.
B
This is brand, brand new. This just launched at the beginning of October and it is so lovely. Solid brass object. And I think it's great doing nothing, just sitting on a book, sitting on your jewelry area. I love it. On our Beatrice Adager standing up. And I put all my everyday rings on. On her little. On her pinky and on her thumb so she can display things. She can work hard for you. You can layer in the inside of a book just to sort of adorn it. You can put it on a stack of books on your center hall table on your dresser. You can also just stack up all your bangles on it if it's sitting, if it's standing up. So it has a lot of uses, but mostly it's just a cool art object. I will say if you're even interested. Oh, yeah. Okay. I'm going to tell you this story. But also let me just say if you're slightly interested in this, go look at it really quick on the website because we're halfway sold out. I don't know when more inventory is coming in, but we trying to get.
C
Them here as soon as possible for holiday. We will see.
A
Yeah, yeah.
C
Shipping's a mess this time of year.
B
I don't know why, but this is TMI. But I think we only ordered 100 for launch and they have sold like rapid fire. I'm actually anxious to even bring them to the store because I know they'll sell out fast. And I'm like, I want the people that are listening to the gift guide to be able to get this object because it's like you're going to want it for yourself, but you're also going to want your girlfriend to give it. It's going to be. Do you guys ever do this where you buy something? You're like, oh, I want to give it, but I love it and I don't know if I can get another one and every gift.
A
Exactly.
C
I'm like, this is a keeper for me.
B
Or this is that you're going to.
A
Myself you're going to want to buy.
B
Two because I'm going to want one for my sister and myself. But then from my own. I'm going to end up giving to Suzanne or. It's just. It's such a cool thing. The price point is great. It's like $60 or something.
C
Something like that.
B
Solid brass hand. I feel like if Kelly Worster sold this, It'd be like 600 do. Anyway. It's. It's just. It's. It's. Everybody in the store freaks out over it. They were selling. They were selling like wildfire before they even launched. I'm like, pull them off the floor. They haven't launched yet. Everybody's dying over this. So if they're still available, grab them, because I don't know when the next ones are coming in, but they're a total hit.
A
Cliff Notes story time. Tell them what it is.
B
The princess hand. Okay, so I bought this bronze hand when I was at market, and it's from the oldest bronze factory in the world. It's known for its exceptional quality. So saying to them, what's the story about this princess hand? And he said, well, there was a set of sisters that were princesses, and one was beautiful and one was not the sister. And they decided to do a bronze of the hand. And nobody knows if it's the beautiful sister or the ugly sister, but whoever it was had the prettiest hands.
A
I think it was the not cute sister.
B
I think so, too. I think she had the gift of. I think this was her gift, and she had the pretty.
A
Living legend is the princess.
B
She probably also had better knees and, like, better calves and way better ankles. And who's to say she wasn't beautiful, right? That's all in the eye of the beholder. But anyway, this is the princess hand. We've made it, Cast it in solid brass, and we're so excited about it. So I think that's a fantastic gift for the lover. Ladies, ask for this, or just buy it for yourself and put it in your own stocking. You know what I'm saying? We got to take care of number one.
A
I know.
B
Okay, okay. For him.
A
For him. Taco grab.
B
Yes.
C
What do we grab? Oh. So when we were talking about this, I was like, you know what? I need more of thing to corral things. To corral my little collections of things. Whether that's cologne. Scents. Hint, hint. Mari, that's my wife.
A
You've been asking for scents for a second.
C
I know. Every year, like four or five years.
B
Every year, Corey wants cologne. Yeah, yeah.
C
One day.
B
Yeah. But men have stuff, right?
C
Yeah, yeah. I mean, I always have. Just little. Just, you know, Oh, a bunch of like, little tiny, like, either, like rings that I hardly wear or all your.
A
Cash in your money clip. You got to put it somewhere.
C
Exactly. What are you gonna do? I mean, I have just guitar picks everywhere throughout my house. I was like, man, I need to get. I'm going to get Petra for that. Gosh, that's such a cool idea. I'm going to.
A
Yes.
C
Yep. It's happening.
A
Cheers.
C
So, yeah, I. That's what I need is just stuff to organize my life and my things.
B
So that's where most handsome. Because it's Burlwood.
C
Exactly.
B
That's so masculine. I love that you can throw your guitar picks in there.
C
Belts, hats, beanies. Just. It's all just like on display. Yeah.
B
And everybody has a cubby in their closet where they can put this handsome burl box box and they can show their stuff off. Adam has bracelets, cologne bottles, cufflinks. So many sun. This by the back door in the mud hall full of sunglasses and keys. I have a little bowl for keys. That's what's at my back door.
C
Yeah.
A
It's great in my room, remember, with all my glasses on it?
B
Oh, you do. It's full of your glasses. Love it.
A
Spec collections.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. Speaking of walnut and burrow.
B
Yes. The burl box. Yeah. Same idea is that men have stuff, but they don't ever buy the thing to corral at all. And so we have these beautiful burl boxes. I think this would be really fun if everybody wrote dad a love note and put it inside the box and you wrapped it and you put a big bow around it. Men would just love the thoughtfulness of that. And you could keep adding to it, like all the love notes. I have shoe boxes full of all the notes people have ever written me. And on a bad day, I go for that box and it makes me feel better about myself.
A
And I think this is love notes.
B
I need it because they're shoe boxes that could burn in a fire. I don't know. I just feel like this feels more permanent and it's a more beautiful way to display it. So you know your lover. But I think it's not only beautiful, but practical, and it could hold something really precious to him. So I think these are lovely. I have a big shelf in my bathroom where I hold bath towels. And on one of the shelves, I have two sizes of these. And all my husband's clone and then all of his stuff is inside so I don't have to look at it because, you know, it can be riffraff. Sometimes. But at least I'm still respectful and I still keep his stuff somewhere. And he knows to go in these boxes and get it. So I just think there's a place for them. But they look incredible anywhere they go.
A
I know this isn't like lovely, but like on Tom's side on his nightstand. Usually like any, like, mail that needs to be answered, whatever will put it there. Not cute. Yeah, throw it in a box. Super cute.
B
Or the tray.
C
Are you guys answering mail, like, while, like while you're in bed?
B
Yeah, for sure.
C
Yeah, just like, hey, before we go.
A
To sleep, Susan, let's go over our kids and bills.
B
Hey, honey, let's have a one on one. Yeah, let's. How are the finances? It's a real. It's really good. It's really nice. Right before bed when you're trying to relax. Yeah. Yeah.
C
I was, I was. I met that pile, the windows.
A
Nice. And I'm like, gee, I need a box.
C
No, I was, I was just saying over the weekend, I met one of my sister in law's neighbors and she kept referring to like her cfo. And I was. I just had to like, stop her. Like, do you own a company or was it. She's like, no, that's my husband. And I was like, oh, okay. So that made me think of it.
B
We have.
A
We all have our own.
C
The one on one.
B
Yeah.
C
I was like, man, I need that title on my own.
B
I know.
A
I'm going to call Tom the cfo.
B
That's great. I'll tell you who's not called the CFO at their house, else that's this girl. Yeah.
C
I think I try to be, you know, it's just I'm.
A
Yeah, I try and be aware and pay attention when he's saying things. I'm like, yeah, totally. I saw that too.
C
I was thinking the same thing.
A
Look into that. The other thing, I think this is good for him or her, honestly. This is our claw foot dish in brass. Oh, my gosh. See, they're in product development. I'm just a designer here.
B
Okay, hold.
A
Hold on. I have it right here.
B
What do you do with yours for him, Sue?
A
I have this on like the corner of our vanity and I put like colognes and perfumes in it. Just because, like, especially the ones like our favorites. Yeah, keep on that. On the vanity.
C
So those are your like in use ones?
A
Yeah, I'm like in season and I just think they're. I think it's a lovely size. I think for like something like that that just Needs to stand vertical in your bathroom. I also love it for just, like, candy.
B
Cute.
A
I think is really cute. It corrals. I have so many, like, bowls and vessels and things, because my kids are always bringing stuff in and rocks and crystals and flim plum and there's just always stuff. But it looks pretty like you. You collected all this garbage on purpose when you put it in a beautiful dish. Am I right? So I love the claw foot dish. And it was like, this was actually replicated. One of our designers found a claw foot bowl at an antique store, and she brought it in. She's like, this is amazing. And we all just like, we're petty it. We're like, we need to create something with these cute little lion feet. And it's kind of our thing. The lion is handsome. I just think it's so handsome.
B
Yeah. On his nightstand.
A
You wouldn't be sad to have that on his nightstand.
B
He has his readers. He's got his.
C
Yeah, that's on mine with a candle. The.
B
Yeah.
A
Gorgeous.
C
Love it.
B
Yeah. It's a really great way to corral it, make it look like you're put together. You guys, you don't feel like a slob anymore. You feel regal in just the difference of a claw foot tray on the nightstand.
A
That is a good idea. Just really fast on nightstands. We just recently installed client's master bedroom, primary bedroom. And on his side, I did put the candle, like, in one of these with a snuffer, and I was just like, sir, if it's on your nightstand, that means you have to light it. Like, that's your job. So if you want your significant other to be the one to light the candle for Christmas, love it.
C
Yep.
A
Okay.
B
Job. Sue, you should teach a marriage class.
A
Stop it.
B
Sign up.
A
Stop it.
B
Guys, let's talk about gifts for the bestie.
A
It's the best.
B
Guys, the bestie is, like your crush in life.
A
She's the one that, like, I'm excited to wrap her present because I use a nicer wrapping paper because she'll appreciate it. Yeah, she's my bestie.
B
It's like your bestie is the sibling that you chose and that lights your fire and that can complete your sentences, and you share all your in jokes, and you send all the memes to each other, and you screenshot the text and you send it to her, and you both have the same emoji reaction. And it's like you just share a brain. Brain. And it's. They're. They're so fun to gift for, and you're thinking about them all the time. So you're like, they're gonna just. They're gonna die over the sheet. They would not believe this happen. So this could be the longest of all the gift lists, but we're gonna keep it the same size. So we think that the new marble collection is gonna be so great for the best.
C
Yeah. There's like, what? Like. I mean, we're not even talking about them all on this podcast, but there's like a highlight. 10ish items, I think. I don't. I haven't counted off top of my head. I'm excited about them all.
B
Yes.
C
The marbles we put them in, the silhouettes of them are amazing. This is one of them.
B
This is. It looks like it's the shape of a postage stamp and it's a little tiny tray. The Calcutta viola.
C
Yes.
B
And I think for your bestie, you could put a candle with it. You could put a stack of cookies with it. You could get her a little bracelet or a necklace. This is going to go wherever she needs it to go, but I think she's going to screw cream. It's so good.
A
It reminds again.
B
Shape is fun.
A
Besties. But specifically, I'm like, it's like a pen pal.
C
Yeah.
A
It looks like a postage note. Like, it's just a little love letter.
B
To put a love letter in it. I love letter in it.
A
Yeah. I just think it's.
B
So tell her the top 10 reasons why you love her.
A
I know.
B
Who doesn't need that? I'd save that note.
A
1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Yeah, go.
B
Totally.
A
Such a good. I love that.
B
So good.
A
So, so excited for you to get me that.
B
I know. You're getting it. You're getting it.
C
She needs two or three.
B
Also, you know, we did the. Was really cute about the new marble collection. We had. We had the. Some of the pieces made in a really big, beautiful black gift box so that it was. It was all like perfectly cut foam. Black foam to fit it.
C
The first things that we put in an Alice Lane branded gift box.
B
Yes.
C
Right.
B
We did. I think we did.
C
Y.
B
So love it. Yeah. We're really excited and proud of it. And I think people are going to lose their mind. They're so fun. We're showing you the prototype here on the podcast. These should land almost any day now, which we're recording this a month early so that we could get this gift guide ready for you. So by the time this launches, you go click on the collection, you're going to see it all. And they're stunning. Yeah.
A
Brand new.
B
Really good. I also think a good gift for the bestie would be, like, one of your prize moments in a picture frame.
A
Yeah. Where you're both, like, laughing hysterically.
B
Sue and I have some hilarious photo shoots that we've. That we've done from our past, and those deserve to be in a picture frame.
A
We really should. Why don't we have any?
B
The only time we celebrate them is when Apple serves us up an old image. And they were like, that was so.
A
Funny when we were rock stars.
B
Yeah.
A
Little ladies holding tarantulas.
B
Yeah. We need to for sure get those. You all have moments with your friends that deserve to be in a frame, so give them a memory. I think that's always a really good one.
C
Two years ago, a little quick story, my friend.
B
Like one of your prize moments in a picture frame.
A
Yeah. We were both, like, laughing hysterically.
B
Sue and I have some hilarious photo shoots that we've. That we've done from our past, and those deserve to be in a picture frame.
A
You really should. Why don't we have any photos?
B
Like, the only time we celebrate him is when Apple serves us up an old image. And they were like, that was so.
A
Funny when we were rock stars.
B
Yeah.
A
Old ladies holding tarantulas.
B
Yeah. You all have moments with your friends that deserve to be in a frame, so give them a memory. I think that's always a really good one.
C
Two years ago, a little quick story, my friend I was talking about at the beginning of the podcast.
B
Yeah.
C
He gave me a picture frame. He was. A few weeks before that, he was going through his dad's storage unit, found this picture that he had hand drawn, and he signed it. You know, we were like kids and we were like learning cursive and you, like, sign your name. So he had signed his name and then, like, put the date it was in 97. So we were like 10 years old when he did.
A
Good year.
C
And it was him. And he had drawn a picture of like, Mickey Mouse and it's a 10 year old drawing of cute, you know, and he framed it and gave it to me as I'm like, yeah, I know. And I've gone two years without giving this guy. I know, I know.
B
You're the worst.
C
I really am.
A
You better be as good.
C
I know.
B
It's gonna have to be good for.
A
That is really cute.
B
Also, we need to start signing the work we do. Sue, those sketches put your H and your name.
A
The evolution from worth money someday.
B
So funny.
A
That's really good.
B
Okay. The bestie. Besides a great memory or a marble object to signify your love. I think the curiosity collection is.
A
Oh, sorry.
B
I did a blastorama. What would you give? What would you give? Obviously the horse, because that's something between us, so I think that's always awesome. The prince's hand, if there's any left.
A
Oh, for sure.
B
That's the gift, don't you think?
A
Yeah, I know, totally.
B
Unless they're like. Unless they're funny. Like the gold bar.
A
The gold bar is hilarious. I think the egg is actually really cute if you have, like, a special memory of just.
B
The egg is so easy to style with.
A
Yeah. It's not on our desk of curiosities.
B
But I also think if they're going through something and they need a little spot of good luck, I think the wishbone is sweet. To tie on top. To tie on top of. Of her gift, you know, really cute. Yeah. And just wishing them whatever. We have a girlfriend that's CEO and she's just. She's just so awesome.
A
Precious.
B
She deserves three gold bars, you know?
A
Oh, my gosh.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. She'd be a fun one to give. That, too.
A
So good.
B
Okay, so that's curiosities also. Go ahead, sue, hold it up. Tell them what this is, you guys.
A
This is the color astrology book. I feel like we've had this, like, on and off in our store since, like, the orum days.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, the first store that we.
B
For, like, at least the last 12. 12 out of 16 years.
C
We've talked about it a handful of times on the podcast.
A
We even had a Galentine's event where we, like, told everybody that came what their color astrology was. And it's not just generic, guys. It is specific. It is science, y'all, to your birthday. And it tells you your color. It tells you what powers and things you'll get by wearing your color and all just the attributes of you, and I swear it's true every single time.
B
Do you want to know what I'm going to do? Suzanne's color astrology, right this minute. Sue, your birthday is January.
A
Hope you remember. This could be embarrassing.
B
January 17th. Okay, you guys, tell me if this is Sue. Her color is Tandoori Spice. Those of you watching, this is it right here. This is her color.
A
I love autumnal colors, too.
B
She does. She's very earthy. She loves to camp.
A
Yeah.
B
It says if you were born on this day, you have a passion and presence and are a force to be reckoned with. Your perception and intellect are Highly perceptive. Oh, sorry. Are highly developed. And you are. Guys, I'm too old to read this tiny type.
C
Do you want me to do it?
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Read Suzanne's. With great expression.
A
Yes, with gusto, please. Gusto.
C
If you were born on this day, you have passion and presence and are a force to be reckoned with. Your perception and intellect are highly developed science, and you are usually one step ahead of everyone else. That's actually so true.
B
Accurate.
C
You want to make a difference and have an impact on society. So it is important that you follow your dreams without losing your center. I mean, come on. How this color benefits you. Your personal color helps accentuate your true calling. Wearing, meditating on, or surrounding yourself with tandoori spice encourages you to rest and be receptive whenever it is appropriate.
B
There you go.
C
Compatible birthdays. April 23, July 20, August 1.
B
I love that it gives you the compatible birthdays, too.
C
And it gives you the pantone color.
B
Do you know what it is? You keep it on your cocktail table. And you're not going to ever have a low in conversation because if something gets awkward, you're like, hey, when's your birthday? And then you pick up the book and you read it to them and they're like, how did you know? And they're like, I want to hear yours now. And suddenly they're like, do you be my husband's? Or whatever.
A
You'd be my husband.
B
Yeah.
A
Disconnect you immediately.
B
Yeah. Right away you have something to connect on. We threw a party here at Valentine's Day, and Suzanne read anybody that came through the door to this party. Their call astrology. And instantly they wanted to get their picture taken with. They felt bonded.
A
It was so much fun.
B
Connected. It was. It's fun. It's like two paragraphs of a good time about you.
A
Do you guys remember, like, the game Mash? Like you played the game Mash or something, but, like, you're my fortune teller. I am going to live in a mansion with Leonardo DiCaprio and I'm going to be super rich and drive a bug.
B
I'm going to be super rich and drive a VW Volkswagen Bug.
C
What was like. Yeah, was. Hold on. It was like mansion. What was the. A mansion.
B
Apartment.
A
Apartment.
B
Shack. Oh, yeah.
C
I swear I was in shack. Yeah. Like, what the heck?
A
But you were super rich, so you knew it was by.
C
Yeah, yeah.
B
But you kept it humble by driving the bug.
A
But there's something too. Just like fortune telling and just like, I just think it's the most fun. It's the best icebreaker, honestly, across the board. This is a great. We did this at Sunday dinner last week. Everyone at Sunday dinner, family, friends, everybody. And everyone had the good time. Even the people that are like the dark horses that don't ever say anything. They enjoy skeptics.
C
I love reading to the skepticism tactics most. Sit down. Come here. What's your birthday? It's like, that's you. I don't. I didn't do it. It's the book.
B
And let me illustrate while it's true. Sue, while we're here, guys, by the way, the color astrology book is like 20. It's cheap and cheerful. Like, it's a blast. It's fun to look at. It's a great. It's a great girlfriend gift. Also, let's tell them about the amber perfume and tell them about your gold bond lotion there.
A
We're talking about our favorite things. I'm just like, girlfriends got to tell girlfriends what's up? You know, what are. What are the things that help us out on the everyday. Yeah, that's the stuff I look for and I throw it in my Amazon cart for all my people.
B
Yeah.
A
Well, Jenner. Was it Jenner? No, Kathleen Jenner.
B
Kathleen Jennings. Beauty Jennings.
A
F. Sorry.
B
Okay.
A
Several people must have posted it at the same time, like, years ago. You guys. I'm such an old woman. This gold bond overnight cream is banana pants. It's so good. And like, I've tried other ones ones. And it's great day night. It's called overnight cream. But there's nothing that will just like. It's just the best.
B
Stay moisturized.
A
Anyway.
B
Did you keep this on your nightstand?
C
Keeps you glowing.
A
No, just in my bathroom.
B
Just like. Do you just put it. Do you put on your whole body or on your elbows and wrists or what?
A
Like, if you have, like, eczema or anything like that, like. Yeah, it's the only thing that, like, takes away everything.
B
Amazing.
A
It's just like medicine. What is it? The fountain of youth?
B
Go ahead and put it on your hands.
C
Yeah.
B
Also, let's tell them about our amber perfume. Yeah, it's a favorite, too, guys. At the checkout counter of Ulta. Or on Amazon, if you have a favorite things party to go to. This amber oil looks like this. It comes in. It's a little roll on. All y'all know about this already. If you don't, you're welcome. It's the one perfume I get compliments on you. $20. You keep it in your purse.
A
You have a brand. It's Just called Amber.
B
Also, if you're traveling, you just bring this because you can throw it in your makeup bag. You don't have to carry a bottle of perfume with you. It's by Nemot N E M A T. Search it on Amazon. Buy yourself five of these. You're going to be giving these out during the holidays. It's, it's $20. Same prices. The color astrology.
A
The first time I kept it on restock.
B
Right.
A
So good.
B
I always buy it when I'm at the. I, I, I always have somebody to give this to.
A
Yep.
B
And it smells good on everybody.
A
And have you smelled it?
C
I don't think so.
B
Smell it.
A
They had a different one on it and it wasn't as good.
C
I love that. Yes. I also. You know what? The other thing I love is this. On the big front of the bottle, it says 92% of people felt an immediate difference.
B
I'm gonna try it right now.
C
They just put, they're putting stats on there. They're confident.
A
Science.
B
Guys, are we qvc? I feel like we're QVC right now. You're welcome.
C
Should be. This is not sponsored by Gold Bond either.
B
Okay. Speaking of Gold Bond, though, Kathleen Jennings beauty, also swears by the Gold Bond neck cream. It comes in a little tube. She says it's the only thing that takes away the creases. And the Tech neck.
C
Tech Neck.
B
Throw that.
C
Tech Neck.
B
Tech Neck. Yeah.
C
Okay. Yeah.
A
That's because you're earlier, right?
B
Yeah. Because you're looking at your cell phone all the time. You always have like a crease across your neck.
C
Yeah.
B
But what I want to say to you is if you throw that any favorite things party, throw it in somebody's stocking, your mother's, your girlfriends, your sisters. It's cheap and cheerful. It really works.
A
So get it anywhere you're going grocery.
B
It's. It's Gold Bond. So it's a dark horse. Nobody's going to see this coming. You're welcome.
C
And 92% of people felt an immediate difference.
A
How do you guys feel? How do you both feel?
B
I feel an immediate difference.
C
I really do. Yeah. So 100 of the stable. I figured such.
A
Okay.
B
The 8% were the skeptics out there. I feel nothing.
A
I bet they're the liars.
C
8% of people lie.
B
We're gonna steer this thing back on the tracks now, but you're welcome. Gifts for teachers. Guys. I feel like the teacher might enjoy the Gold Bond, depending if she's a lol, a little old lady.
A
You know what I Mean, you guys, the teachers I know, like, when your kids were going to school, you're like, I don't know if I grabbed.
B
Don't tell the people that.
A
Just kidding. So every year, seriously. Sorry. Every year, it's so great. Our pta, like in the school newsletter that we get like every week, it has a list of like, what your teachers like preferred things are. If they do or don't like candles, what their favorite flower is, what their favorite gift card is, what their drink, what their treat of choice is. It's awesome. If they're allergic, gluten free, I need to know those things. Things. So if your school doesn't distribute that list, go ahead and like, give them a survey at the beginning of school and ask them, like, what is your like, love language? Because you're watching my like naughty boys all day long and you deserve a good gift like at Christmas and the end of year. So that being said, they're like, what would Suzanne's like.
B
Do you like interior design? I'm going to come over and help you.
A
I know your room needs some help. I can, I can help you.
B
You want a sofa? You've been watching my children.
A
And so my go to gift for a lot of people because I love it. And maybe that's not like you really try and like make it personal. But I think a lot of people don't necessarily buy themselves the nice candle.
B
Yeah.
A
You know, or just like something that's just gonna like be lovely or they luxury. They go to. They go to anthropology. They sell a dollar volcano. They go to TJ Maxx. And anyway, they're just like. They're not. They're fine. We've all done it. But if you can give someone a really nice kid candle, I think that that's the loveliest gift. We have a lot of different lines. I love our Lola James Harper. That's one of our lines that we frayed in from Paris. And it's incredible. And those are personal. If they like music or they like. What are some of the other ones?
B
They have like theater, coffee shop, surf shop.
C
Yeah, surf shop.
A
So depending on like the rainy day one.
B
The rainy day, like springtime.
C
Yes.
B
That one's lovely. First. First morning of spring. I love that one. Yeah. You know which one is the person?
A
Daddy.
B
The Woody Office of Daddy.
C
Yeah.
B
That one is just yummy and handsome. The Alice Lane candle is really yummy. We love that one too. It's by Lola James Harper. Anyway, they have great titles, they have great personality. And one thing that I think is A really good accoutrement to the candle. Will you grab the diffuser dish? We make. We make three crystal candle dishes. Those of you that have the big candle, we have a big one, the normal size one. And then we developed this diffuser dish which holds the small one wick candle as well. It's a solid crystal block with these little brass feet. The bottom and your candle. You know how when you burn it down it's hot on the bottom. You don't want to ruin the surface of just having that candle sit right on a wood desk for your teacher or your cocktail table. So this really elevates the candle, protects your surface and just makes it look like it's for Princess Diana or something. I just think it's so chic.
A
The rug.
C
The rug.
B
There you go. Yeah.
A
Hold the room together.
B
It's the prongs for your diamond. Yeah. So pretty.
A
Really naughty children. Children.
B
Yeah. Will you get the little Velespa one? I want to put that in this. Yeah.
A
These are darn. This is actually the velocipo ones are so great. Just because the price point on them isn't crazy.
B
But it's what teacher wouldn't love that. That is just such a sparkly diamond.
A
I love this girl that so much.
B
Yeah. This is the winter scent. It's called silver birch and peppercorn. We have these online along with the diffuser dish. You can get them one or the other or both. If you have a really bad kid and you. You're feeling like you need to come from behind this year, I think that is such a gorgeous bougie gift. It's probably going to be like the nicest thing in their house. They're going to die over it.
A
Yep.
B
Yeah.
A
And because we can't have enough luxury, we say add a snuffer to it or if like even any of your girlfriends. I think this is also really fun. The snuffer is a good add on.
B
Yeah.
A
To any gift. I think like the Harper hand or anything you can put just at the top of the gift.
B
Love it.
A
So great.
B
It's kind of a winter gift too. I feel like cuz it's a candle.
A
It feels like a miniature fire.
B
It's a great accessory. It's cute on a mantle. It's cute on a cocktail table. It's just another good looking accessory that's useful.
A
I love that so much. One thing we're going to also say is a blanket. Again, depending on how like good or naughty your child has been or how much you love your teacher. I really love my kids, teachers and like, the fact that like, they're reporting to me on like how they're doing, like if they are having a hard time or if they're having a great time and we're celebrating and we're trying to like, make them better and teach, figure out how. What's the best way to. For them to learn. You really. I really do, like, bond with these teachers because, like, I'm trusting them with my kids all day and they're willingly taking them for probably not enough money.
B
Yeah, definitely.
A
Definitely not enough money.
C
Yeah.
A
And so I'm just like, these gifts are like a time to. For me to actually like, say thank you. I usually have my son like write a letter that's really just so. Because I'm like, those are the things that like is their payday. You know, when we get reviews from you or like we get something like a client, like really loves what we do every day for them. That means everything that makes it all worth it. And that's why we do this.
B
The gas in our tank.
C
Here's the other thing too. I mean, not to be like. Not to put like a selfish spin on it, but this is the truth. I mean, the better I feel like you teach, you treat their teacher, the more disconnected they're going to be to your. To your child.
A
They'll be invested.
C
You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. And I think that's.
B
And I think your child will be bonded to them because he wrote a lovely note to them and expressed gratitude and appreciation and he got to be excited and be in on the gift. And you're explaining why you chose it for them. And they, they have this cool connection now right after a couple years of school, I mean, a couple months of school having started, and they get a. They get a coast on that for the rest of the year until her birthday or something else. But I think it's so sweet.
A
Yeah. This last two teachers ago, they said that she actually doesn't like candles. I'm like, good to know. My. My number one go to is out the door. So I think a. A lovely blanket or something because they're going to get a lot of can candy and they're gonna get, you know, hopefully some gift cards. They'll get like a single mug or anything. No knockdowns. But I do think just like something that they wouldn't normally get, I think is like the loveliest kind of gift or just like really understanding their love language. And so we have like our mohair throw, which I think is Just like the loveliest gift. And like, when the day is hard, the kids have been hard. I'm like, there's nothing that I want more than just like a blanket.
B
Yeah.
A
Cinnamon toast and hot chocolate. All a girl wants. Wants, y'all.
B
Yeah.
A
So this is our mohair blanket. And it's just so pretty on the side of a chair. It's really anywhere that she could actually keep, like, at her desk, too.
B
Like, it's chilly.
A
So nice.
B
Yeah. It makes even. It makes the office feel cozy.
A
Exactly.
B
We have so many girls in our design center that sit with the blanket around their chair and they'll throw it over their shoulders in the morning and then pull it off. But it does make work comforting. Yeah. Yeah.
A
So, like, make your spaces, you know, work for you. So I love a blanket for a teacher also.
