Many people don’t know why Korea is divided. It is normal because it was not explained at school. I’ll explain: In 1945, Japan was defeated in the war and for this they lost their colony that was Korea. Korean independence is the same day that Japan surrendered. But Korea could not own it's land because the new power in this epoch, the USA and Soviet Union interfered in its fate. The soviet union invaded North Korea while the USA invaded the south. Tim Frost, the US secretary, and Charles Von from Soviet Union were the ones who decided the border. Now South Korea is capitalist and North Korea is communist, but nowadays North Korea has been the regime of dictatorial socialism.

Yoga can now be taught in Alabama public schools after being banned for almost 30 years. In 1993, the state's board of education banned yoga because it is connected to Hinduism. This is the third time lawmaker Jeremy Gray — who's also a yoga teacher — has tried to end the ban. The state's local school boards can now decide for themselves if they want to allow yoga classes. However, there are still some rules. Yoga classes can only include things such as stretches and exercises, and any exercise names must be in English. Saying "om" and "namaste" — which are often heard in yoga classes — is still banned. Parents must also sign a document saying that they understand that yoga is a part of Hinduism. Rules were also added to the new bill saying that yoga classes cannot include things such as hypnosis or religious training. Gray said he thinks these rules were added to make conservative groups feel better about ending the ban. "A lot of the stuff you don't do anyway," Gray told Alabama news site AL.com. Studies have found that yoga is not only good for children's health, but can reduce stress, improve behavior and help them do better at school. Gray said that yoga can also help young children who find it difficult to focus in class. However, Christian conservative groups say that because yoga is connected to a religion, it shouldn't be taught in schools. They say doing yoga is similar to praying.

A study from North Carolina State University has found that unhealthy eating at night can make people less helpful and more withdrawn at work the next day. Researchers asked 97 full-time US employees to answer three sets of questions over 10 working days. Before work, study participants answered questions about their physical and emotional well-being that morning. At the end of each workday, they responded to questions about what they did during the day. And before bed, they answered questions about their eating and drinking behavior after work. The researchers defined unhealthy eating as instances when the study participants felt they'd had too much to eat or drink, eaten too much junk food, or had too many late-night snacks. The researchers found that when participants said they had eaten badly or had too much to drink, they were more likely to report physical problems such as headaches and stomachaches the next day. They were also more likely to experience emotional tension, such as feeling guilty about their diet choices. These physical and emotional feelings then impacted participants' behavior at work. They became less willing to help their colleagues if they felt they didn't have to. They were also more withdrawn, choosing to avoid work-related situations if they thought they could, despite being at their place of work. Seonghee Cho, one of the study authors, explained that we already know a lot about how behaviors like sleep and exercise can affect our work. She says her study shows that what we eat and drink can have an almost immediate effect on work performance too. However, she said that because the questions also asked about drinking, it wasn't clear if some behavior was just due to the effects of alcohol. She said she also wants to study how people's behavior is affected by what they eat during the day, and whether unhealthy eating could actually help people handle stress.

🏠The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that many people have had to work from home over the past year and a half. While some have found working from home allows them to get more done, others say it's making people less productive. But which is true for most people? To help answer this question, the research group Work After Lockdown asked 1,085 people working from home in the UK about their productivity. The survey asked participants whether they thought their productivity was the same, better, or worse than it was before lockdowns began. Fifty-four percent said they got "a little more" or "much more" done per hour worked than they did before lockdown. In fact, almost 90% of people said their productivity had either stayed the same or gotten better. This means that only one in every 10 people found their productivity had gone down during lockdown. The people who were most productive at home said they were working in environments that let them concentrate on one task for a long time, and let them return to a task after being interrupted. They were also able to reorganize their tasks as needed, and able to keep their thoughts from distracting them. However, parents were feeling a lot of pressure, and were the most likely to say they had to work evenings and on weekends to keep up with their workload. Three-quarters of people said they would like to work at home some of the time even after lockdown ends — and a third would like to do so all the time. However, many said they missed the social parts of going to work.
