Guys, what is up today on the show? Jason Caperna from the Valley. Just ahead of season three announcement, premiere date. We're gonna get a little sound bath, reiki session, perhaps a cocktail before we go in. Because I haven't talked to him in a while and I miss him. I love Jason also. It's the Lunar New Year 2026. We're in it, man. There's no turning back now. It's the year the horse, specifically the fire horse, which not only sounds badass, but according to the Internet, means we're stepping into a season of energy, freedom, hopefully forward motion. That's right. We're making moves, baby. Shedding last year's skin. Gonna be all shiny and brand new. We're bringing sexy back. I mean, it's been back, but anyways, I guess the horse represents strength, grace, momentum, big horse girl. Energy, confidence with the momentum and yeah, let's go big this year. Apparently this is a once in a 60 year opportunity, which I know you're listening to this and Tuesdays past, but I like to think the window's still open for dreaming big, manifesting, right? It's time for a cosmic reset, baby. I like the sound of that. My only brief exposure to sound baths have been. Yeah, just like that. Actually, a cosmic reset is kind of the perfect way to put it. I've only had a few. And we had the quick Reiki session on vpr, the infamous one with me, Tom and Jax. I think Peter was there. She was lovely, by the way. We're gonna do. Me and Jason are gonna do an hour sound bath and Reiki session, a group session in their back room, the salt room at Fred Parker Wellness Spa on Ventura Boulevard, which I love. Shout out to Fred Parker. I'm cuddled in the bed with the dogs right now, the morning after. But yeah, we're gonna do a little Reiki. If you're not familiar with it, Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing by channeling the universal life energy. I like the sound of that. Through the practitioner's hands to hopefully me and Jason. And it kind of works by balancing the body's energy fields, chakras, which we've talked about before, to reduce blockages, often inducing deep relaxation. It can help alleviate pain, stress. When I did it, I cried. Kind of like my quantum healing session, if you listen to my second episode. But yeah, so essentially, a trained practitioner acts as sort of a conduit, placing their hands lightly on you or just above you to sort of guide energy flow to where it's needed. And yeah, I just had a brief session and I loved it. I cried. Also, we're gonna do a sound bath during that too. So if you've never had a sound bath, they're awesome. Your brain runs on electrical rhythms and when you're stressed, they're kind of all over the place, you know, hopefully not manic, but you know what I'm talking about. Think like, I gotta pick up the skits from school after work, pay taxes, ask for a promotion, Couples therapy. Oh my God, I just lost my job. Oh my God, my rent just went up. A thousand dollars. World War three Epstein files. You get the idea. Sometimes it's nice to just go and let the awesome soothing sounds of a sound bath wash over you. Yeah. So it's like these slow, steady sounds can sort of gently nudge your brain into a slower wave states that just chill you out. We could all use a little more chill pill. My mind has so many effing thoughts racing through it every day. Not even like an angsty or negative way, but just trying to keep up with modern day life in this day and age. Trying to be successful and happy in this so called life. But yeah, they just help you be more present. Like we said, wash over your nervous system. Like a nice warm bath for your mind. Deep relaxation, meditation. E. And it's like kind of like that I'm nice little floaty, I'm almost falling asleep feeling. And it can be very emotional, which I've experienced. And I thought this would be a nice relaxation session before The Valley Season 3 premiere is announced, which I filmed. And I'm very grateful for and I had so much fun and I think it's gonna be a great season. But yeah, I'm thinking we set some intentions for this once in a 60 year opportunity. I'm still learning with you guys. I'm not the guru. Unfortunately we couldn't sit down with the Reiki teacher afterwards. But that's okay. Yeah, we're gonna do the damn thing with Jason. Big Horse energy. New Moon energy. Fire Horse energy. That shit sounds fire. Lfg. Let's fucking go. I believe in you. You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop. Yeah, that's right. Let's have a breakthrough, guys. Let's have a good effing year. Okay? So without further ado, we're gonna meet up with Jason at Granville on Ventura, just down the road from Fred Parker Wellness Studio. Have a snack, have a chat. Perhaps a cheeky little cocktail. Although this is a detox episode. And then we'll drop in for the soothing sounds of a sound bath. Fred Parker, Wellness. Okay, let's pick up with Jason, see how he's doing. Dad, life. Husband life. Being on reality tv. Life, Lawyer life. I love the guy. All right, I'm gonna shut up. Next stop, pick it up with Jason.

Jason, Hello. We're at Granville Ventura Boulevard, deep in the Valley, on the cusp of of the premiere. By the time this airs, season three of the Valley will have been announced. How you feeling?
E
The trailer will have dropped.
D
The trailer will have dropped.
E
I am feeling. I'm feeling pretty good.
C
I feel good. Yeah.
E
I feel good about it. I feel good about the season.
D
I do, too. I was a little sloppy at times, but it was a healing season for me.
E
You know, I spent. I spent some time weighed up.
D
Yeah, you've been through it. You've ran the Gauntlet.
E
Yeah, I did run the gauntlet.
D
For someone who's only been on TV for two seasons, Seasons, like, you've written
E
the Gauntlet, I came out a little bit scathed.
D
You handle it well, though. You keep your composure. Do you. Have you enjoyed it so far? Like, do you love the romance of, like, going to New York, Watch what happens live?
E
I mean, I love going to watch what happens.
D
So fun. It's like a fairy tale.
E
Whenever I get to, like, see Andy, that's always a great little treat because I'm a big Howard Stern fan.
D
Love Stern.
E
And so I've known about Andy for a long time from that. From him, his appearances on there, and. Yeah, a really nice guy.
D
He's such a great guy. He comes in. He knows what's going on in your life. He's so just jovial.
E
Yeah.
D
And he comes in, and sometimes he'll bring me a drink, and it's. I've done the show 15 times now.
E
How many?
D
15, 16, I think.
C
16 times.
A
Isn't that crazy?
E
I'm on one.
A
You're on.
E
I've been on there once.
D
I'm in the 15 club.
E
It didn't go well. Yeah, no. I mean, I thought it was okay, but the reaction wasn't always the best.
D
Yeah. Do you love New York?
E
Do I love what?
D
Do you love New York?
E
Oh, I love. I'm from New York.
D
Oh, yeah, you're from New York.
E
I mean, I'm from Long Island.
D
Wait, by the way, you guys were with Jason Capernau from the Valley. If you don't know who he is, I'm pretty damn sure you do.
E
Hey, guys.
D
Wait, you're from New York, Went to Boston College.
E
That's right.
D
He's a lawyer, so put some respect on his name.
E
Thank you. Appreciate that.
D
And yeah, man, we're on the. Yeah. The Verge, Season 3.
E
You know, on the day we're filming, we're recording this podcast. Your. Your team, Florida State Seminole basketball squad to beat down my Boston College Eagles.
C
Yes. With.
E
I didn't. I actually told you I didn't want
C
to talk about that.
D
No, it's okay.
E
We don't mind.
D
We don't have to talk about it. I know you're salty, but, dude, Happy Valentine's Day.
E
Happy Valentine's Day.
D
What'd you guys do? What'd you and Janet do?
E
We did it. So Jen and I like to do the same where we do like a 28 hour staycation.
D
Yeah.
E
We'll go, we'll check in at noon. We'll check out at 4pm the next day.
D
Yeah.
E
And it feels like two full days of vacation.
D
Yeah.
E
We're only getting, you know, one night. We're only away from our kids or one day.
C
Yeah.
E
So we come back home, he's not too upset. We've been gone that long. We feel fully refreshed.
A
We feel fully.
D
Did you fully detoxed? Me too. We went to the Lafayette, which is one of my favorite hotels in all of California. San Diego. Kiana single handedly made me appreciate Valentine's Day again because I. I was always kind of always indifferent to Valentine's Day, but she loves it so much that it's contagious.
B
Wow.
D
And now on the record, I officially love, love Valentine's Day again.
E
So before Keanu, you did not love or care about.
D
No, I was ambivalent. I was ambivalent. Like, I could care less. Like, we still did fun stuff my exes or whatever. But like, it is like, if your
E
partner can really that make a big deal about it, as a guy, you're not going to make a big deal. You just kind of follow that flow
D
with that a little bit.
A
Exactly.
D
By the way, how's little Cam?
E
Oh, Cam's great. Cam's my son for everybody out there. He's two years old.
D
Yeah. Wait, do you see more Janet or you and Cam?
E
I see both. I see the. From like the top half. Half of his head is mine. The bottom half of his head is hers. That's how I see.
D
Okay, that was beautifully stated.
C
And he's.
E
He's a gigantic. He's a gigantic.
D
He is a big boy.
E
Yeah. I'm hoping. I'm hoping he's like, you know, he's very.
D
I see. Yeah, I see a split of both of you. More so you right now.
E
I appreciate that.
D
Yeah. But he's beautiful.
E
We fight to want to look like this.
D
Did he come on the staycation?
E
He did not.
D
By the way, we're drinking a Negronis at Granville Ventura Boulevard. Then we're gonna hit Fred Parker Wellness for a new moon Reiki massage.
E
Shout out.
D
And your mom is a certified Reiki teacher?
E
My mother is certified in Reiki. I've actually never. I've never had a Reiki experience myself.
A
Yeah.
E
But my mother. Yeah, she might kind of discovered her spirituality, got Reiki certified and she's like. She's doing that whole thing. Yeah.
A
So she's.
D
She's a practice. She's practicing sing, you know, she's.
E
She's a full time elementary school teacher.
D
Yeah.
E
So she's not really practicing much, but she could if she wanted to.
D
We're gonna do. Wait, let me read this from the website.
C
Okay.
D
We're going to Fred Parker. I love Fred Parker. Shout out to Fred Parker on Ventila Boulevard. You know what? They have Galentine's day. This is like our guy. Our guy in Tansdale guy tanks. Is that a thing Dian times Galentine. Yeah, this is our day. It's date night with Jason. I haven't seen you in a while. I miss your face.
E
I know. We've been trying to get something to plan something together. It just hasn't worked out. So a little dinner at Granville followed by a little rainy session.
D
That's what I'm talking about. Okay. On the website it says join us. Turn my mic up a little bit for you guys. Join us for a new moon sound bath meditation. Immersive acoustic experience designed to deeply relax your body and mind, clear mental clutter and promote inner peace. The new moon is a time for fresh starts. Introspection and setting powerful intentions. What kind of intentions are you setting?
E
Powerful ones. Is that what he said? Powerful ones?
D
Yeah, yeah, powerful ones.
E
Very powerful intentions.
D
I thought this would be a good, like, way to decompress de stress before this the new season comes out. Not that I'm Stressed about, About it. But I always get a little, I get a little, like, trepidation.
E
There's always gonna, I mean, you know, we lived it.
D
We did.
E
And you have your own narrative of how everything went down and, you know, wait and see how it all turns out.
D
Yeah, let's just see how it turns out. Like it's supposed to. It's like. Well, you've done it. Have you done it?
E
Done what?
C
Reiki.
E
I've never done Reiki. Really? Never. Never been rakied, and I never have raied.
D
You are about to get raikied all over the place. I've done it one time only. On Vanderpump Rules. I think it was me, Jax, and Peter and Tom. And that was the infamous scene where everyone thought that Jax shagged the, the Reiki teacher.
E
Did he?
D
No, he didn't. No, he didn't. But, like, he just was like, you know, he, I don't know if he's, he's, Listen, he's a complicated creature, but he really opened up to her, and he did. He was very extra vulnerable.
C
Vulnerable.
D
And I think people perceive that as, like, flirtation and with his reputation, you know.
E
But we're learning breaking news right now.
D
No, he did not sleep with the Reiki teacher. Dude, I don't even. By the way, I was looking it up, I, Yeah, so I, I, I, I, I don't even know what Reiki is. But the word Reiki means universal life energy. So I guess the, the practitioner believes that they're channeling, they're calming energy into you. It's like a massage without kneading the muscles. You know, this.
E
Yeah, it's just, I mean, there's no. So I actually have a question for you. Did you feel anything when you got Reiki? When you were Reiki, did you feel anything?
D
Yeah, I cried. I had, like, a little breakthrough. I cried. I don't remember what I cried about, but I remember the feeling. It was a good emotional release.
E
So are they talking to you while they're doing it?
D
I think that, I think they do chance. So it's. So we're going to a sound. It's like, it's a sound bath in a vibration frequency healing session. But I don't know. We didn't do that when we did ours. We got. I remember she gave us, like, these cool crystals that she thought might sort of be uniquely tailored to our different energies. And then, yeah, I think we did some chants and she did some inner work with us one on one. And I cried. Are you gonna Cry today.
E
I mean, I wouldn't mind it.
D
You know, I think he's a good cry.
E
He's a good release.
C
Yeah.
E
Come out a new man. Especially before season three.
D
That's what I'm saying. Yeah. By the time. I think. I don't know if I already said this. By the time this airs, they will have officially announced season three, the Valley premiere day.
E
And the trailer will drop.
D
Yes.
E
At least the first trailer.
D
I saw the 15 second one. Did you see it?
E
It's a little teaser. Yeah, but that's not. That's just a little teaser. Teaser.
D
It was a good teaser.
C
I was teased.
D
I was teased.
E
Well, you. You're. You made it.
D
In the tease, I was titillated. I looked. I looked a little sloppy.
E
You know, whenever they have a teaser or we're told there's a teaser trailer gonna drop, I'm always getting worried, like, oh, man, I hope they don't show me looking bad in it. And then if I'm not in it at all, I'm like, I kind of wish I was in that teaser.
D
I know. I know. It's like a relief when you're not in it, but when you are and you're. And you're not having the best moment.
E
Yeah. It's like, yeah, I get worse.
D
I guess I get a little, you know, a little shot of dread.
E
So how cool is this? We're literally for the audience out there. We're literally in Granville restaurant, Ventura.
D
We're deep in the Valley. Well, we're not that deep. This is about as shallow as you can be on the Valley.
E
Pretty shallow. Studio City.
D
We're on the iconic Ventura people off
E
the Beverly Hills from here.
D
Exactly. We can literally. We're drinking Negronis. This is a detox episode. This is a detox episode, technically, but we're still having a Negroni. We're pregaming for the new moon.
E
Rake warming up our bodies.
D
So I don't even know what the new. Is it a new moon? I'm gonna ask our practitioner today.
E
There was a full moon like, a week or two ago, wasn't there?
C
Yeah.
D
Yeah, there was.
E
So I feel like this is probably just like a regular moon, but to be honest, I don't know much about the moon.
D
I don't either, but I love astrology. I just don't really know that much about it.
E
What? I do know a little bit about our podcast, because me and my wife have a podcast as well. Shout out to the Hill podcast.
D
That's right.
E
For all you.
D
It's such A great name. You guys are so cute together.
E
Oh, thank you.
D
You guys have ran the gauntlet. But you know who's cute?
E
You and Kiana are cute together.
D
Thank you. Oh, Jason, look at a blushing you got.
E
I mean, I'm actually excited too, for season three in the audience to get to know her a little bit.
D
Yeah, she just left New York for 10 days, so I'm a little depressed. So this is a nice consolation. Not consolation, but this is nice to ease the pain of her leaving for the next 10 days. Sipping a negroni on the iconic Ventura Boulevard, we're about to get rakied the out. Wait, Val. Valentine's Day overrated or underrated?
E
Oh, Valentine's.
A
You know what?
E
I think it depends on the couple. So if you're a couple, like you and Kiana, for example.
C
Yeah.
E
You guys have been going. You know, you guys are in your honeymoon phase. You're going out to dinner a lot. You're not, you know, nothing stagnant about your relationship. No.
D
Yeah.
E
So you guys. For you guys, is Valentine's Day really necessary?
A
Necessary?
E
Like maybe not because you show each other you love each other every day and you're always doing stuff, but once you get married, things can get a little stagnant. You can sort. Get into a routine. And I think Valentine's Day is necessary for a lot of couples.
A
It's a.
D
It's a great excuse. Any excuse to reinvigorate, re. Establish, reaffirm your love.
E
Absolutely.
D
You're a romantic.
E
You know, I like. I'm pretty romantic guy.
D
I love.
A
We love.
D
Love.
E
We do love.
C
We do.
D
We're good lovers. I mean, I don't mean in the sexual. So not. Not that we're not.
E
Not that we're not good at all.
D
You know what I mean? I meant that in a tender, wholesome way.
E
No, I mean I love. I mean, who doesn't love to be in love, right?
D
Yeah, exactly.
E
It's a great feeling. And it's unmatched by really anything else.
D
I've been lucky in love most of my life. Really lucky with love.
E
You've been in love more than not in love since I've known for sure.
D
Yeah, I've been very happy with love. Are you good at love? You fall in love easy.
E
I mean, you know, I fell in love once. Yeah. That's all that I needed.
D
Wait, that's so beautiful.
E
You know, maybe I thought I was in love before, but I didn't know real love until I met my wife.
D
When did you meet Janet again? Wait, how did you?
E
I met Janet around the same time I met you.
D
That's right.
E
Probably eight, nine years ago.
D
Yeah, something like that. Damn, you guys have been together almost a day. Decade.
E
Yeah. Well, no, no, we haven't been together. We were friends for two years.
D
That's right.
E
I mean, you knew her ex boyfriend before me.
D
Oh, that's right.
A
Oh my God.
E
And I knew him too. We were all buddies.
A
Dude.
E
Now you're.
D
Maybe now you're married.
E
And I were friends. I mean, she knew girls I was dating. I knew a guy she was dating. I mean, I've met her. I had met her ex husband before we started dating. Like I. We were, you know, literally just platonic friends.
D
Yeah.
E
And until one day we were not.
D
Yeah, that's usually how it works.
E
And it just made sense, you know, it's kind of like, wait, what are we doing? Why are we not in the relationship?
D
I like being friends first or like being acquaintances and then allowing it to blossom and evolve from there.
E
I agree.
D
That's always been successful for me.
E
Yeah, no, I think that's cuz you already have that baseline that like that friendship and you know, we already had a ton of mutual friends. Everything was just pretty easy.
D
So we'll do. Wait, I want to keep yapping, but also we have to go to Raiki in 20 minutes. Should we finish our cocktails, eat, and then we'll pick up after the session. I'm going to bring you guys along for the session, by the way, and let you tune in and see what it's like. So we're taking you along to the New Moon Raiki session. Me and Jason on Guy Lintan. Guy. I can't say it. All right, brother, I love you. I'll see you at the Rakey man.
E
See you on the other side.
D
Let's eat.
C
Let's eat.
A
Guys, quick note. This was a group session and I did not want to disturb the peace of others, so I set up my microphone as unobtrusive as possible and unfortunately I got some feedback. But if you want to listen through, it is pleasant still. But I apologize for the feedback. Thank you, guys. Okay, just you can get a little taste. You can skip through it if it's too much, the feedback, but I appreciate you guys. I just wanted to give you a little idea what it sounds like. Okay, bye.
D
We're fresh. Fresh. Two minutes out from the Reiki New Moon sound bath. First sound bath, first Reiki session. Thoughts?
E
I thought it was extremely relaxing. Like I got to leave the stressful world behind for an Hour. But what felt like 15 minutes.
D
It was for me the fastest, one of the fastest hours of my life. And just super peaceful. I said in class I felt like kind of being back in the womb.
A
It felt like.
D
Like in a really pleasant adult nap.
E
Yeah. I felt like I was 12 years old in the planetarium, looking up at the screen and then I felt myself sort of like orbiting, going into the. Going into the solar system and just leaving Earth. And. And actually it occurred to me, it's like I'm not Jason Capernau. Jason Burn is just an identity that I use here.
D
Yeah.
E
You know, you stripped that away and I'm actually just. I don't know what I am, but.
A
Well, we're all one.
D
One love, right? I kind of felt close. How do I say this without sounding too woo woo.
A
I kind of felt one with the universe. I don't know.
D
I felt like. I felt like I was floating. I liked what she said, the Reiki teachers. She said sound baths make her feel wrapped. Wrapped or hugged by angel wings.
E
I loved that thought and that imagery. And I also just thought about my son a lot for most of it in there, and just about him growing up, what he's. His experiences he's going to get. Comparing him to the ones that I've had that I don't think about anymore for the last 30 years, but that I'm just excited for him and the life he's about to embark on.
A
Yeah.
D
That's a beautiful thought. That's one thing I want to be a father, and hopefully I get to be someday. But one of the things I'm looking forward to most is getting to work re. Experience those things for the first time in life. Like Disney World, a slushie. The first time through your child's eyes.
E
Yeah, yeah. Reading certain books that just like hit, you know, something like that. And just like getting to really like, experience and also just having that creativity that you sort of lose as you get older.
A
Yeah.
E
If you don't live in a. If you don't work in a creative space. Yeah.
D
I mean, I, we. We still have it in there, but it's like you get so caught up in your routine. Work, just daily chores, taxes, this life, not the doldrums. Because I like those little things in
A
life, but like, I forget about the creative, like, spiritual stuff.
D
Dude, that felt like a spiritual massage.
E
And you know what? That's why this podcast you're doing is great. Because you really get to like show your creativity. You're not doing it like a standard podcast. You're doing it like you're telling a story. You're telling a tale. You're taking people on a journey. I mean, I commend you. I think this is a great podcast you're doing here, Tom.
A
Thank you, brother.
D
That was a fantastic voyage. I'm glad I got to share it with you.
A
And I know you want to get
D
home to your family, so I'm probably gonna shut up from now and just say thank you, bro. I miss you.
E
I miss you too, man. Thank you so much for the invite. And we gotta hit TomTom soon.
D
TomTom going down the valley, season three, going down. Shout out to Janet if you made it this far.
A
And yeah, man.

Guests: Jason Caperna (The Valley), Tom Schwartz (Host)
In this introspective and lighthearted episode of “Detox Retox,” Tom Schwartz invites Jason Caperna, his friend and fellow Bravo reality TV personality, for an exploration of relaxation, vulnerability, and connection. Anchored around their first group Reiki session and a sound bath at Fred Parker Wellness Spa, the conversation finds both men reflecting on stress, the pressures and pleasures of reality TV, and how holistic practices can act as a “cosmic reset”—all while sipping Negronis on Ventura Boulevard. The Lunar New Year, intentions for the year, and the value of love and friendship round out this episode’s free-flowing, genuine vibe.
“It’s the year the horse, specifically the fire horse … we’re stepping into a season of energy, freedom, hopefully forward motion … It’s a once in a 60 year opportunity … It’s time for a cosmic reset, baby.”
