How are you? I missed you guys. This has been fun so far. That's three detox episodes in a row, in case you're keeping track. I'm thinking we've earned a nice little retox session. Okay. And remember, Retox isn't toxic. It's not self harm. Just gonna let loose. Treat yourself. Energy. I'm thinking we'd do something fabulous. Maybe we hop on a plane, head somewhere sunny, somewhere warm. Beaches, vibrant beaches, sexy people, beautiful people doing beautiful things. Mopeds, maybe a warm media. Noche Mojitos, Art deco on the beach. Yeah, Will Smith in his prime ocean drive. Yes, you guys guessed it. Miami. South beach, the magic city. The sun is literally shining. It's 82 degrees. There's like five clouds in the sky right now. We just rented a daybed. Anything is possible. We're day drinking today. You know what? One of the great simple pleasures in life. Obviously far superior to night drinking for obvious reasons. We're staying at the Mondrian. South Beach Bayside. My feet are literally in the pool right now. You guys. Yes, you're here with me. I got a cold beer in my hand, and I'm kind of hoping today we're gonna do an impromptu mini winter house reunion. I'm on the hunt for three things. It is. When you put, like, people in that environment, I don't think you can explain to anybody else on the outside, like, the connections you make, the relationships you made. Like, it's just this really bizarre little bubble.

Floody. I feel like, Okay, I have sample size maybe 30 women. I have 30 beautiful women in my life. Not that I'm dating, but I'm talking mothers, sisters.

It happened completely on a whim. I'm very thankful, I'm very blessed. And I'm kind of just happened naturally, but it made sense and it's a place I don't think people fully understand Dubai, but, like, I wouldn't change it for the world. What was the catalyst that made me go there?

Yeah, it's a leap of faith and I love it. I'm here for it.

So I was still actually working on the boats and I was on one of my rotations and it actually came down to like a financial thing. So obviously working on the boats, I earn tax free money and it's all legitimate, it's all legal. And I was getting paid into my offshore bank accounts. Because I was a seafarer, I worked offshore. But then obviously, because I do TV and like social media deals, I can't just put that into my normal bank account. There has to be some sort of legitimacy. So a lot of like YouTubers, crypto people, traders, they all own companies in Dubai. So I went there, opened up a company basically just for the money that I earned from like Bravo or Instagram. And with that, you automatically get residency. So I was like, okay, if I'm going to get residency to a country, let me see if I liked it. So I went there for six and a half weeks, opened up my company, and I ended up loving it. And then I think I went back to my boat for two months, went on my next rotation, and then the rest was history.

A day in Dubai. I mean, now finally. I mean, anyone that obviously knows me from below deck or knows that I worked in yachting for 10 years, you.

Know, we miss you as a yachty.

I, you know, it's actually crazy now. I feel like I'm having a little bit of an identity crisis because everyone knew me as a yachtie or from below deck, and that was my life and is still very much part of my life. And, like, I love the industry. So now, like, I think once you step away, it's like you're trying to give yourself and you. And I'm sure maybe you're actually kind of going through this a little bit now.

I'm rebranding.

Yeah, we're all rebranding. And it's kind of like, okay, well, what's my purpose now? Like, everyone knows you for one thing, and you're trying to, you know, alter the course of your life. But it's crazy now because I feel like I went from one extreme to another. I went from working 18 hour days to now working for myself, waking up in the morning, almost having too much free time on my hand, which is obviously a blessing, and I know that. But like, it's a really weird position to be in when you're so used to grinding and working so hard for so long that having too much time, you're almost like, I'm not achieving enough or I'm not doing enough. So like.

Well, yeah, watching. Well, just as a casual fan watching below deck and below deck Mediterranean, it kind of seems glamorous. I. I know they show the grit, but part of me, it's alluring to me.

Can you sell us on wanting to be a yachty and then also talk of us, talk us out of it at the same time?

Okay, best things are being a yachty. Right? Like I said, you earn tax free money, you're offshore. So number one, that's national waters. Yeah. You're in international waters. You're working for the top 1%, which automatically opens you to some of the craziest I've ever seen. And then you also travel the world and you, you're getting paid to travel the world on these insane, beautiful, white, floaty things and you're going to the most beautiful places in the world. So like, for me, it was only meant to be a gap year. I was meant to do it for like a year or two. You know, I just graduated uni, didn't know I wanted to do. My friend was like, come do this. And then we call it the golden handcuffs. You get hooked because it's like too good to be true. Like, yes, you work your fucking ass off. But.

But in America, we call them the velvet handcuffs.

No, but yeah, I mean it's like you get exposed to experiences you wouldn't normally get exposed to in a normal job. You know. So that in itself is amazing. Like you have to have a hard work ethic. But yeah, it's a wild industry and I just, I wouldn't change it for the world. I don't think I could do another 18 hour day again.

I know, right? Actually, like, no. All of Summer House did. Like, I saw Carl Amanda, and I was like, carl, we started that. I swear, Goldfish seriously sorted out. But my family have always been super supportive. Even, like, when I got casted for Below Deck, my family was, like, really into it. But, yeah, Winterhouse actually never aired in New Zealand. It only aired in Australia. But all my Australian friends would, like. I think anyone close to you is always supportive whether, like, look, none of us are perfect. The only difference I think about me and you is I'm perfect. Can we get a poll up right now? Should we get a poll up, guys? No, I think the only difference is if we make a mistake, it's a. Out there on tv. And this is actually something I've always. So, guys, I obviously went back and watched. I've only watched one season of Vanderpump, but I respect you guys so much because you really. I don't think people understand when you guys put your life out there and it's raw as. And you guys went through whatever issue you're dealing with in your life, your friendships, your relationships working, whatever it is, you guys really put it out to the world. And then people criticize, but it's like a lot of people are doing the same things. It's just. There's no cameras. To have the rest of the world judge that person, like, that is literally the only difference. So, like, I think when I went back and watched that last season, I had so much respect for all of you because I was like, even though people were criticizing people for whatever. A lot of rest of the world are doing the same things. The only difference is you guys had cameras in your face and the fact that you guys were actually super fucking raw about it and didn't lie, because there's a lot of reality shows out there that.

You did the same thing to some extent. How do you, how did you handle. I know you got super positive feedback and super negative feedback on both Winter House and Below Deck. How did you handle it? Have you ever like read a comment that ruined your day?

Absolutely. I think is, I think at the start, like when I did Below Deck, and it's like you kind of overnight you go from having your normal life to then having the world having access to you and thinking they know you or they know better and whatever it is. And I think at the beginning when it's a new experience to you, it's so hard to not read every single dm, not read every comment, to not go on Reddit.

But I think it's like, you know better. You're obviously, you've, you've been around the world.

You're intelligent. But sometimes there's a little part of you or a little curiosity, it's like a sick, masochistic part of you that wants to see what they're saying. Yeah.

And you do it. And like, obviously, yeah, there's been times where I'm like, fuck. And you get upset, you feel depressed, you start like self doubting yourself, which I think is all normal. But then I think the beauty of it is if I didn't do any of this and put myself out to the world, I don't think I would be as strong as I am now and like realize that not everyone people can have an opinion of you and that's totally fine. The only opinions that matter are the people that are close to you. And that's it. And not everyone knows everything. People think they do, but they don't. They don't know the full story. So at the start it definitely is hard. And I don't think it's ever not hard. I think you build a tolerance to deal with it better and you learn to just not deep dive in the comment section or in the, you know, you just, you learn how to handle it better. And I think it makes you stronger as a person.

But you know what's funny now? I would have gone to my head. I would have had a minty B. But now I'm just like, oh, I feel sorry for you. Like, that's funny. Yeah, it's a leap of faith and I love it. I'm here for it.

So I was still actually working on the boats and I was on one of my rotations and it actually came down to like a financial thing. So obviously working on the boats, I earn tax free money and it's all legitimate, it's all legal. And I was getting paid into my offshore bank accounts. Because I was a seafarer, I worked offshore. But then obviously, because I do TV and like social media deals, I can't just put that into my normal bank account. There has to be some sort of legitimacy. So a lot of like YouTubers, crypto people, traders, they all own companies in Dubai. So I went there, opened up a company basically just for the money that I earned from like Bravo or Instagram. And with that, you automatically get residency. So I was like, okay, if I'm going to get residency to a country, let me see if I liked it. So I went there for six and a half weeks, opened up my company, and I ended up loving it. And then I think I went back to my boat for two months, went on my next rotation, and then the rest was history.

I, you know, it's actually crazy now. I feel like I'm having a little bit of an identity crisis because everyone knew me as a yachtie or from below deck, and that was my life and is still very much part of my life. And, like, I love the industry. So now, like, I think once you step away, it's like you're trying to give yourself and you. And I'm sure maybe you're actually kind of going through this a little bit now.

Yeah, we're all rebranding. And it's kind of like, okay, well, what's my purpose now? Like, everyone knows you for one thing, and you're trying to, you know, alter the course of your life. I went from working 18 hour days to now working for myself, waking up in the morning, almost having too much free time on my hand, which is obviously a blessing, and I know that. But like, it's a really weird position to be in when you're so used to grinding and working so hard for so long that having too much time, you're almost like, I'm not achieving enough or I'm not doing enough. So like.

Well, yeah, watching. Well, just as a casual fan watching below deck and below deck Mediterranean, it kind of seems glamorous. I. I know they show the grit, but part of me, it's alluring to me.

Okay, best things are being a yachty. Right? Like I said, you earn tax free money, you're offshore. So number one, that's national waters. Yeah. You're in international waters. You're working for the top 1%, which automatically opens you to some of the craziest I've ever seen. And then you also travel the world and you, you're getting paid to travel the world on these insane, beautiful, white, floaty things and you're going to the most beautiful places in the world. So like, for me, it was only meant to be a gap year. I was meant to do it for like a year or two. You know, I just graduated uni, didn't know I wanted to do. My friend was like, come do this. And then we call it the golden handcuffs. You get hooked because it's like too good to be true. Like, yes, you work your fucking ass off. But.

It only aired in Australia. But all my Australian friends would, like. I think anyone close to you is always supportive whether, like, look, none of us are perfect. The only difference I think about me and you is I'm perfect. Can we get a poll up right now? Should we get a poll up, guys? No, I think the only difference is if we make a mistake, it's a. Out there on tv. And this is actually something I've always. So, guys, I obviously went back and watched. So, like, I think when I went back and watched that last season, I had so much respect for all of you because I was like, even though people were criticizing people for whatever. The only difference is you guys had cameras in your face and the fact that you guys were actually super fucking raw about it and didn't lie, because there's a lot of reality shows out there that.

I think is, I think at the start, like when I did Below Deck, and it's like you kind of overnight you go from having your normal life to then having the world having access to you and thinking they know you or they know better and whatever it is. And I think at the beginning when it's a new experience to you, it's so hard to not read every single dm, not read every comment, to not go on Reddit.

But then I think the beauty of it is if I didn't do any of this and put myself out to the world, I don't think I would be as strong as I am now and like realize that not everyone people can have an opinion of you and that's totally fine. The only opinions that matter are the people that are close to you. And that's it. And not everyone knows everything. People think they do, but they don't. They don't know the full story. So at the start it definitely is hard. And I don't think it's ever not hard. I think you build a tolerance to deal with it better and you learn to just not deep dive in the comment section or in the, you know, you just, you learn how to handle it better. And I think it makes you stronger as a person.
