Matt had to call out sick so Eric was flying Solo in episode 23. Although missing his jolly banter, It was still an awesome conversation with the exciting electro-pop/ indie NYC artist, frau. We had a nice talk about her early roots that sprouted through singing in choirs, & how those experiences lead to a more creative spark. We covered many things from her early opportunities being featured on a kids bop EP that was included with a happy meal in the 2000’s, to the more fully formed project & art that she spend’s her precious time on these days. Tune in & learn about the detailed insight into the ideas behind frau’s music & lyrics. It was clear that she spends a lot of time thinking about her creative endeavors, & it shows in the quality of music & unique merch that she put’s out into the world. So, please enjoy as we have yet another awesome guest check into The Diamond Inn. Support the show

Make some noise! Episode 22 is all about Drew of Sundots, the Pennsylvania experimental indie folk bedroom project that is easy to gauge the time, passion, & energy he has spent on it. Matt & Eric were fascinated to learn the history of Drew’s creative nature. He is an inspired soul that champion’s the projects he finds interesting, as he gives plenty of praise to music & artists he has discovered over time. Also refreshingly, he made us realize the importance of being a fan of your own music, whether other people share that sentiment or not. We all get to gush a bit on our mutual admiration for many bands including Melaina Kol, in which touring with them was a direct inspiration for Drew to start writing & recording his own songs. The Diamond Inn boys also have a great time messing around with a few of Matt’s pedals to create some different conversational vibes in this one. Dig Drew’s collection of unconventional musical instruments. There is a spontaneous collaboration where Drew has an improvisational melodica solo. Check in to the INN, because you know, YOLO. Who in their heyday in the 00’s got to play some local gigs with early ensembles of Explosions in the Sky, Her Space Holiday, & Emery Reel. Brian took some time on a Friday night to talk to us about the ups & downs of playing Independent music in Nashville back in that time. We all discuss the plethora of music & art that inspires us to create. Brian also talks about how it feels to listen back to the music he & his buds created years ago. It’s episode 20 & this week we caught up with Nik & Luke of the dreamy indie power-pop band, Midnight High. We were so stoked to hang with these sweet southwestern transplants as they retold their journey with the wind that carried them from the dusty, golden desert all the way to the magical pacific northwestern city of Seattle, WA. Our conversation was gifted with plenty of laughs as we discussed mutual loves & appreciations for 80’s synth music & Sci-FI soundtracks. We get into their personal histories with early bands & how that shaped the direction for their musical adventures of today. Listen & enjoy as these two graciously shed light on local scenes & sounds of the present, past, & future as they paint pictures of the vibes that inspire them to keep on creating. We talk synths, we talk keys, & all kinds of radness in between! So tune in, veg out, & as always have a great time! Y O L O. Support the show

We caught up with David as he was hangin’ out on a Friday night, & he graciously spent some time sharing his experience with the band which originally formed in Nashville back in the 80’s! Ride along on this road trip as David recollects some of the fascinating history behind this monumental indie band that cut their teeth in the Southeast & beyond back when bands were trading cassettes to check out each other’s latest creations. Some would say those were the glory days of being a connoisseur of music consumption. David is a champion for creative energy, & that shows through the conversation we were lucky enough to have with him. So check in once again & get ready to laugh, cry, & catch a rhyme at the Diamond Inn. Support the show
