Let’s blame it on the Benadryl, baby! This week on Disgraceful, Grace is joined by comedian, poet, and glam icon Cat Cohen for a chaotic, campy, and completely unhinged episode. The two dive into everything from murder podcasts and post-carb foot massages to scalp health confessions and billionaire friendships. Cat reveals her delusional confidence origin story, puts men on trial in a new twisted game, and debates ranch vs. bleu cheese with alarming self-awareness. With musical moments, gift-giving disasters, and 4 easy installments on Klarna, this episode is a beauty pageant of bits you won’t want to miss. Have a day, much love, and enjoy the show!

Grace
Hi, guys. Welcome back to Disgraceful. I don't know if it's a podcast or a late night show, but we're here, all right? And we're here. When you're here, your family, it's just like Olive Garden, baby. And I've got my family right here. Nora, welcome.
Nora
Hi, guys.
Grace
Listen, thank you guys for being so sweet to Nora. You love her just as much as I do, so I. I hate to talk to you like you're not there, but I'm a baby.
Nora
Thank you, guys.
Grace
That's my baby. No, no. Okay. We are wrapping up an LA trip. We've been here for about two weeks. We feel like we live here, but we have. We weren't sure if we were gonna have a lot to do while we were here, but boy, did we. We ended up banking about 10 episodes for you guys. 10 guests. I'll tell you what, these guests, I, I was so excited to sit with all of them, nevermind, meet them. And I was a little nervous. You can, you can probably see that in every episode that, that will follow after this trip. But it was, they're all just so amazing. Everyone was so sweet, so kind, so welcoming. So that has been like the coolest thing ever. This trip was, it was really good. We had a lot of fun. We did a lot. We banked those episodes. I went on other people's shows. I, I was, I was boasting for, for almost like a week and a half saying I crush on other people's shows. I don't know why. I don't, I don't crush as much on, on my own show, but it's a work in progress, you know, And I, I went on a few shows and they all were great. They were. I had a lot of fun on all of these shows. Except I did do one show. And here's a little behind the scenes for you. I did do one show. It's my, the one podcast I really like, actually listen to. And I choked. I choked. I just kept going, yes, yes. No. Yeah, just one word answers. It was pretty brutal. So that, that was that. And then I also, at one point I just started crying on that episode. So I don't know if that's going to be going out or, or what. But yeah, I did that show and then had three hours to think about what I had just done on the car ride to La Jolla. So that was something. See if that goes out. But I had a lot of fun on, on, I keep saying shows, but I went on Trash Tuesday. I went on the Friday Beers Guys podcast. I went on Play Date and some other ones that haven't gone out yet, so stay tuned for those. I also did the serious shows that we have here at Unwell. I went on the Daily Dirty. I also went on Dialed in. And so those were a lot of fun. We did those, banged them back to back. So if you want to check those out, you can. And then another thing. Well, what else did we do? Oh, I did my first show at Laugh Factory and that's a, that's a club here in la. And Whitney Cummings, I shout out Whitney Cummings. She's always sticking her neck out for me. She asked me if I wanted to do any shows while I was here and she put me on the lineup of like these sick venues. So thank you, Whitney. I owe you everything. Always, all the time, all at once. You are A rock star. She also offered for us to stay at her house for the weekend. So sweet. She's like, do you want me to put the pool on? I could have you guys if you guys want to like hang out with your friends at my house while I'm doing shows. But I had to go down to La Jolla anyways. But I mean, that just goes to show how fucking awesome Whitney is. So that was awesome doing the Laugh Factory. And then I did a show that night also at the lab in the improv here in L. A. And that show had a fun little twist. So basically you go up there, you can do a little stand up, but you also pick from two buckets. It's called send news. A play on send nudes. Yeah, but one bucket is real news and one bucket is news from the audience. And I kind of had the end of the bucket. I wrapped up the show and there was only real news left. Kind of. Yeah, there was like.
Nora
You only had like two people once.
Grace
So then I called my dad during that set. Cause there was some news that I thought maybe he would like. And he had the response I thought he would. So as he was about to say that response, I hung up on him. I think it'd be a funny clip if they recorded that, but yeah. My dad's been calling me every day since trying to figure out what the hell that was all about. And I. I've yet to call him back.
Nora
It's all good.
Grace
Have you talked to him?
Nora
I let him know.
Grace
You let him know?
Nora
I don't know what was going on.
Mickey O'Malley
Nice.
Grace
So we got Mickey o' Malley. Had his first stand up premiere. Really Shout out Mickey o' Malley.

Grace
I also did my friend Xavier Phillips show. That was awesome. I had a lot of fun doing that bad boy. And then we headed on over to La Jolla La Hoya. And I gotta tell you, I can't believe that people actually live there. My friend Nene grew up there. And I cannot believe, like, you can just, like, go to high school there.
Nora
It's ins. It's the most beautiful place I think I've ever been to. Like it. It, like, makes you feel like you want to cry. Like, looking at it, it's like, oh, my God, it's so gorgeous. It's crazy.
Grace
I don't say this often because it's New York or nowhere for me. I could see myself living there. I really could. It was. It was beautiful. The people are amazing. Like, they're like genuine, like, down to earth, nice, kind people. To the point where I'm like, are you fucking with me? Don't fuck with me.
Nora
Like, teenage girls like our little sister's age that would never speak to people, were, like, making small talk and, like, being so sweet and lovely.
Grace
It was just so kind.
Nora
Great vibes serve for people. I would move there so in a heartbeat if I had a billion dollars.
Grace
Yeah, no, it's very expensive over there. That's the other thing.
Nora
It's insane.
Grace
I actually started my set with. I don't know if we're gonna be able to relate on any of these things that I'm saying, because you guys are so filthy rich.
Nora
Yeah.
Grace
I had a lot of. A lot of rich men in the audience with their arm crossed at the beginning, and I finally got them to loosen up towards the end, and I was like, all right, I got you, pal.
Nora
Yeah, they had, like, Don Paranon like a.
Grace
They were swiveling it around like, come on, we're at a comedy club. But it was at the store, which was very cool. The Comedy Store, which is their La Jolla location. And it was very, very cool. I got to meet Peter Shore. Peter Shore. And shake his hand. And he invited Me back for their. Their 50th. So huge. That was pretty huge for you, girl. But while he was in the green room, some girl had snuck into the green room. She's like, tell. She told security. She goes, tell her it's Molly from high school. She'll know who it is. And then she came in and I was like, dude, nice to meet you, man. I respect it, honestly.
Nora
It's also like, people are so bold to just. I feel like that's something that you.
Grace
Would do if you were, oh, 1,000%. I've said it before. Like, I just think it's like, you got to do what you got to do. You know, what you got to do. Shaking hands, kissing babies.
Nora
Yeah, it rocked.
Grace
So that was awesome. I also had Liam Cola from Friday Beers. He came and featured with me, and we just had a blast. He brought his girlfriend. They had a little getaway. They rock.
Nora
I love them so much, dude.
Grace
By the end of it, we were like, listen, man. I'm talking to him. Like, listen, would you ever move to New York? He's like, no, but would you ever move to la?
Mickey O'Malley
I'm like, no.
Grace
So I'm like, oh, we'll see each.
Nora
Other when we see each other, I guess.
Grace
But it's nice to have friends.
Nora
We have LA friends now.
Grace
We have LA friends, which was good. And then Liam had to go. And Xavier, whose show I did, Xavier Phillips. He ended up coming and he did the Sunday shows with me. And the Sunday show was Mother's Day. So I decided randomly. I was like, you know what? Anyone here in the audience a mom? And I had a few hands raised and I counted how many hands it was. Thirteen moms, 13 lucky ladies, 13 lucky ladies. And I was like, you know what? Let's give all those moms a glass of champagne. And I think, did they do it? I think they got it. Yeah.
Nora
Did you find out if they ever did? They did, yeah, because they had. They had everyone keep their hand up at a certain point. I saw one of the dads keep going to the mom. He was like, put your hand up, put your hand up. You need it. It was so funny. And she just had her hand up for, like, a little bit. And then I'd, like, lost track to see if they actually got them.
Grace
It was so funny.
Nora
It was awesome.
Grace
And real quick, I want to just do our own personal segment of shout outs. I think everyone deserves their flowers, and I think that I have so many funny and talented friends. I really want to give a few shout outs while I can. So here we go on shout outs. Shout out to Molly. Molly Carney. Molly Carney's show. DMV just got picked up and it's on cbs. So when that comes out, please go check that out. They are hilarious. We. We got to check up on them while they were here and we blasted off. We had a lot of fun. We're. We're a dangerous duo. We're a trio, if you will. Yeah, yeah.
Nora
We're cousins. We have so many cousins all around the world.
Grace
So many cousins. We just.
Nora
Every person that we meet, that's kind of like us. We're just. You're my cousin.
Grace
Yo. You're my cousin.
Mickey O'Malley
You can.
Grace
You can create your own family, you know? So shout out Molly. Shout out Chris Clemons and Jake Shane for winning Webbies. Woo. Yeah, I remember Chris Clemens was on here wondering if he was going to win. He was all nervous. A1. Yep. And I thought it was cool. The Webbies, they. They had everyone do just five words.
Nora
That was awesome.
Grace
And that was their only speech. And Jake Shane did. I wish I could.
Nora
I wish I had more. And then he said words. Thank you.
Grace
Yeah.
Nora
Or something like that.
Grace
Shout out Ms. Cooper. Ms. Cooper. Her new documentary, Call Her Alex, is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival this June. And she didn't even make me say that. I just really wanted to give her flowers. We got to hang out with her.
Nora
It was like a quick hour dinner where they were discussing 30 million topics since the last time they've seen each other, just to catch up. And it was like the fastest run to Grace's show.
Grace
I had an hour before doing the Laugh Factory. And we. We got in, we went to a pretty cool place. You had to put. You had to put a sticker over your phone. It's pretty cool.
Nora
Yeah. I've never seen anything like that.
Grace
But we're going rapid Firestyle. We're like this. And what's up with this? I want to. And we covered, like. I'm not even kidding, like 30 topics like Nora said.
Nora
Yeah, like 30.
Grace
It was wild. And I was trying to up.
Nora
I was like, it was.
Grace
It was so crazy. But it was really nice seeing them. Yeah. And, yeah, shout out my friend Emily Wilson for her new comedy special, Fixed. You can watch that on YouTube. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. It's about she. So she was on X Factor and she was humiliated as a child, and she gets into it, the whole thing. I. It's an incredible watch. It's blowing up on TikTok right now. And I Just highly suggest watching the whole thing. I thought it was fantastic. And shout out to the team here at Disgraceful. I want to thank you guys so much for your hard work all week, the last two weeks, and all the time, because we've kind of been going, going, going. It's been kind of a crazy schedule, so just wanted to thank you guys very much. And shout out to all you guys for watching the show. And shout out to everyone coming to the shows. I. I really appreciate you guys coming. It's been fucking incredible. It's just when I'm going, going, going, I forget how sick this really is, you know? Cause I'm just, like, ready for the next thing. And while I was in La Jolla, I kind of took a step back, and I was like, this is unbelievable. It's pretty sick. Get to do my dream job with all of you guys coming through. And it's really been, without being cliche, a dream come true. Fuck. It's like. It's so corny. I'm so sorry, but it really is a dream come true. It's been. I realized this while we were watching the Seals.
Nora
Oh, wow.
Grace
Yeah. We got. We spent one day. We spent like. I can't believe this is my life.
Nora
At the Seals.
Grace
Yes.
Nora
Okay.
Grace
Yeah. I had the most blissful day watching these seals.
Nora
It was great.
Grace
We were there for, like, three hours just watching the seals. It was amazing. The seals are little puppies of the seal. The sea. Oh, of the sea. And while I was there, I was like, I can't believe that this is my life LeBron style, truly and honestly. So it's been pretty cool.
Nora
Shut up.
Grace
And just. Just to wrap things off before, I riddle off a bunch of dates that you probably won't listen to, if you like the show, tag us. I. I've been. I've been loving watching you guys see the show. I. I love reposting them. I love hearing your comments, and it's good to see people are. Are actually tuned in, because sometimes it just feels like I'm talking to a void. So it's. It would be really cool if you guys could tag the show. Tag me. And we'll always repost it. So thank you guys very much. And now I will riddle, riddle, riddle off some dates We've got Naples this weekend. May 15th of May 18th. If you live near Naples, please come. This is the one I've been dreading. And not because I don't like Naples, and not because of the place of where it is, but because the tickets are not selling. For the first time in this whole tour, at the very tail end before we get into summer, this is how we end it. I say no. I can't believe that there are only. I can't even tell you the number of tickets I've sold because it's that sad. And I've already asked if we could condense it and make it just like a little bit less of shows, and they said no. Keep on pushing these shows. So if you are in the Naples area or if your uncle lives there or something, tell them to buy tickets because Jesus fucking Christmas, give them a.
Nora
Visit and go with them.
Grace
I'm also going to Charleston, South Carolina, June 5th to 8th. Long Beach, New York, at Borelli's Tap Room. That's my. Almost an ode to my alma mater. You know, we've got a Frankie's. Frankie's dad's place, June 16, and Honolulu, Hawaii, July 2. I'll be there with my mother. And I'm really looking forward to those dates. So, yeah, this has been the intro. Now enjoy this episode with Kat Cohen.
Nora
I don't.
Cyndi Lauper
Coming at you live from a shady Manhattan studio, it's Disgraceful, featuring your gracious ginger host.
Grace
Hey, watch yourself. Only I can say that.
Cyndi Lauper
Okay, boss, whatever you say. You pay my bills. Give it up for Grace.
Grace
O. Ali. All right, guys. Welcome back to Disgraceful, the podcast show. We're still not sure. I'm here with comedian Kat Cohen. Thank you so much for coming on, Grace.
Mickey O'Malley
Thank you so much for having me.
Grace
This is a pleasure. In order. You are jet lagged right now.
Mickey O'Malley
Yes, because I was in Colorado, which is two hours earlier, and I don't know if I'll ever, ever recover.
Grace
No, it's gonna be. Gonna be climbing up. You're gonna be trying your very best. You know, the. The locals call it Colorado.
Mickey O'Malley
Do they? Yeah, Colorado. Oh, God, I gotta get into that.
Grace
It's. It's really. You know, someone's from Colorado because they say Colorado.
Mickey O'Malley
Colorado.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay, I'm gonna use that.
Grace
It's a fun little. It's fun little innuendo. What are you doing in Colorado?
Mickey O'Malley
Literally, just skiing.
Grace
Oh, wow, you're a skier.
Mickey O'Malley
I mean, not. Not good.
Grace
Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
It was my boyfriend's birthday, and so we went on a fun little ski trip.
Grace
Oh, Rocco.
Mickey O'Malley
It was so cute and cozy. Now I'm back to reality, and I couldn't sleep last night because of my immense jet lag. And so I took all this Benadryl, and now I'm in a Benadryl haze.
Grace
Okay, that's Better than a K hole.
Mickey O'Malley
Way better. So if anything I say isn't perfect, blame it on the Benadryl.
Grace
Yeah. No. And I say in my set, if. If my set doesn't go well, I've done Molly so many times.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
That you can just blame it on the Molly.
Mickey O'Malley
Guess what? I've never done it.
Grace
Oh, wow. Yeah. I don't think. I think you're already got a Molly vibe going to you.
Mickey O'Malley
I don't. I'm so scared of drugs.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Unless they're in a box, like from a store.
Grace
Oh, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
No, I see. I won't take those.
Mickey O'Malley
Really? Just illegal.
Nora
I just.
Grace
I raw dog it other than the floor. See? Two Polish. It's.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. When's the last time you did mall?
Grace
It's been a long time.
Mickey O'Malley
Really?
Grace
I miss her. It was summertime. Oh, yeah. No, it's. I'm due for it. We try to do it quarterly. We think it'd be better for our brains. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Yes. I love that. For the corporation.
Grace
Yeah. So we've got a little Yang. Little Yang. So I think it'd be best to start off. I usually ask each guest some questions to see if you'd be a good fit to be my new co host.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. Okay, let's try it. Let's work it out.
Grace
All right, so your podcast is called Seek Treatment. If you were having a stressful day on the job as my co host, what is your number one vice? Guilty pleasure or treat that I could.
Mickey O'Malley
Bring you a clawfoot tub filled with boiling hot water.
Grace
Wonderful.
Mickey O'Malley
I'd like to take a hot bath, have a little whiskey, and then order some pad Thai.
Grace
We could do that in the studio.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, in the studio. I'd want a big hot bath. Maybe listen to, like, a murder podcast. Take. Have a whiskey. Not even. Not even on the rocks.
Grace
What is it with millennial women and wanting to listen to the podcast to unwind the mur. Murder podcast.
Mickey O'Malley
I know. I. I'm start. I'm trying to not do it because I know it's bad for my brain, but I think it makes me feel like, oh, well, at least that's not happening.
Grace
Oh, that's true.
Mickey O'Malley
Like, my life's amazing. I'm not getting sawed in half because.
Grace
To me, unwinding, being in a bubble bath and then listening to a murder podcast, this sounds like I'm. I'm. I'm next.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm trying to mix it up. Yeah.
Grace
I'd be so scared to die vulnerable.
Mickey O'Malley
I know.
Grace
I used to have a horrific fear that When I was changing, an airplane would fly into my room, and then they'd find me n naked, halfway changed. That was a real fear I had. Do you ever have a fear like that?
Mickey O'Malley
I'm picturing you nude on the nose of a plane. Just. I know I did used to be so scared of anyone seeing me naked, but now. Take a look. Yeah, take a good, good hard look.
Grace
Take a gander.
Mickey O'Malley
Whatever.
Grace
Do you ever have a nude go around in, like, high school?
Mickey O'Malley
I. First of all, I didn't. I'm like, I'm older than you. I don't think I had the capabilities to take a nude in high school.
Grace
Yeah. No. I would have never done it myself.
Mickey O'Malley
No.
Grace
But that. That is. I feel like that's a lot of people's turning points.
Mickey O'Malley
I do remember there was a girl in my high school, she had a new go around. She was wearing a Santa hat.
Grace
Santa hat.
Mickey O'Malley
I feel so bad for her. I know. She. You know what? She looked amazing.
Grace
Reindeer on her boob.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, probably. I don't know. I didn't look. I didn't look. I was like. Well, I remember that was like a huge moment in the high school.
Grace
Oh, yeah. I mean, whenever I was in the going around, was there ever a list?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, like, hot girl list? Yes, I'm sure there was. I'm sure I was so far from it that it wasn't even. It wasn't even part of my world.
Grace
Fucking look at you now.
Mickey O'Malley
I know.
Grace
Look at you now.
Mickey O'Malley
Now when people ask me how I'm doing, I'm just like, I'm incredible. My voice shaking. Tears, tears, blood coming out of my eyes. I'm like, I'm doing amazing.
Grace
I was asking. I appreciate when someone has, like, a good amount of confidence because I was talking to someone recently and I was like, oh, how are you doing? They're like, I'm fucking crushing it. And then they walked away. I'm like, that's awesome.
Mickey O'Malley
That person sounds annoying.
Grace
Delusionally amazing. I think that's kind of the way to go through things.
Mickey O'Malley
That's true. It's a delicate balance. One must strike.
Grace
I was like, wow, that's.
Mickey O'Malley
Is it a man?
Grace
No.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm sorry. I was like, if someone said that, I'd be like, are you joking?
Grace
Like, no, I was just like, wow.
Mickey O'Malley
Wow.
Grace
Good for you. That's great. That's good stuff.
Mickey O'Malley
I think that is the good way to be.
Grace
Yeah. And then I followed up and I was like, well, you know, I. Cause I just can't leave things alone sometimes. And I Was like, so what is like, what makes you crush it? And then they told me, and they actually are crushing it. Yeah, it was a great follow up.
Mickey O'Malley
Made me feel better. I'm like, I feel inadequate now.
Grace
Yeah. I was like.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm like, oh, God. What do they have going on?
Grace
Yeah, they had. They're touring and they got funded for something.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, Must be nice.
Grace
Like, all these things.
Mickey O'Malley
Must be nice.
Grace
They got put up in a. In a beautiful home with a maid.
Mickey O'Malley
What?
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
For what? For stand up. Yeah.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
So I'm just picturing me in delta economy with carrying my own bag of T shirts, being like, I'm here to do a show. Everyone's like, please go home. Please go home.
Grace
What's your merch looking like?
Mickey O'Malley
My merch is amazing. Well, you know Hunter, who did a poster for you?
Grace
Oh, yes.
Mickey O'Malley
Did all my merch. He's a genius.
Grace
Oh, Hunter is a genius.
Mickey O'Malley
Star quality Studio.
Grace
Star quality Studios. Thank you very much.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
Oh, it's. It's. If you know, you know, if you know, you know. Dude, he's a good kid.
Mickey O'Malley
He's genie in a bottle.
Grace
Next in the audition to be my co host.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay, cool.
Grace
We need to test your options and opinions. All right, so I'm gonna give, like, a word or a series of words, and then you kind of give where you stand on the topic.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
Ranch. First blue cheese.
Mickey O'Malley
Ranch.
Grace
Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
I wish I liked blue cheese, but I'm not that sophisticated.
Grace
That sophistication.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
I thought it was more white trash.
Mickey O'Malley
No, blue cheese is like.
Grace
It's expired. No, it's expired cheese.
Mickey O'Malley
It is. Exp. Is disgusting. But people, like, with a more sensitive palette, I feel like, tend to choose blue cheese, like, like on a. On a salad.
Grace
Oh, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
On a. You know, with a cranberry walnut. I'm going goat. I'm craving goat.
Grace
Oh.
Mickey O'Malley
Some people crave blue. And then when With a wing, though. Ranch.
Grace
Ranch.
Mickey O'Malley
What's better?
Grace
That's fair. That is fair. The impending return of euphoria.
Mickey O'Malley
Can't wait.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
I don't know if I saw the most recent, but I love that program.
Grace
It's a good program.
Mickey O'Malley
It's an amazing. They're doing amazing work on that program.
Grace
They truly are.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm a big. I'm a big Chloe Cherry fan.
Grace
Oh, me too.
Mickey O'Malley
She's amazing.
Grace
She's amazing. And wow, what a turnaround of life.
Mickey O'Malley
No, she's major Guns. No, thank you. Yeah, guns.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, guns.
Grace
I'm not interested in guns.
Mickey O'Malley
Get them out of here.
Grace
Get those. Get those guns. Out of here.
Mickey O'Malley
Get a bow and arrow and go play around in the yard.
Grace
Dude, shooting bow and arrow is really fun. Have you ever shot a bow and arrow?
Mickey O'Malley
I have. At summer camp.
Grace
Me, too.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah? Where'd you go to camp?
Grace
I didn't do the whole camp camp. I did day camp just to get rid of me.
Mickey O'Malley
Just for the day.
Grace
Just for the day. And then my mom kind of, like, missed me, so she would come pick me up. Yeah, it was like a day camp, but I loved it so much. And, yeah, I got to shoot bow and arrows.
Mickey O'Malley
It's so fun.
Grace
It really is. Archery, if you will.
Mickey O'Malley
We should go. We should get into archery.
Grace
Yeah. Why can't you do archery? That seems like a good Brooklyn idea. Go do archery. Have you done axes?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I was gonna say, have you done ax throwing?
Grace
Like, archery would be, like, way more fun.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I was really bad at ax throwing in a way that's like, they shouldn't be letting me do this.
Grace
No, it is. It is crazy that you can. You can throw an ax, but you can't do archery, because throwing an ax, that could. I wonder. I wonder how many accidents there are. No pun intended.
Mickey O'Malley
Someone Google the numbers. Someone check on the numbers.
Grace
It's gotta be bad. Okay. Your thoughts on adultery?
Mickey O'Malley
Adultery. Such an intense word. Sort of juicy gossip.
Grace
Well, while you think of it, I have a fun fact. Frank Sinatra was one of the only people charged with adultery.
Mickey O'Malley
Charged with adultery?
Grace
Yeah. Don't look that up. I'm not sure. Somebody told me that last week, and I just took them for their word.
Mickey O'Malley
Wow. I'm. I'm against it, but I. I want to hear about it if someone else is doing it.
Grace
Yeah. Right. Juicy goss.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I don't want to be involved, but I'd love to hear more about that.
Grace
Absolutely.
Mickey O'Malley
When it comes to adultery, I'd love to be kept in the loop.
Grace
Aperol, Spritz. Love. Really?
Mickey O'Malley
I love everything basic. I love it.
Grace
Okay, perfect.
Mickey O'Malley
It tastes amazing. Have you had it?
Grace
I don't.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, you don't like it?
Grace
I don't like it.
Mickey O'Malley
What's your drink of choice?
Grace
Beer. Really?
Mickey O'Malley
What kind?
Grace
I'd go for anything light.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
Yeah. I've also. As I've gotten older, I've started to try others.
Mickey O'Malley
Sure.
Grace
Belgian whites. Yeah, those are yummy. At a brewery, love go crazy.
Mickey O'Malley
I just had a Coors Light in the Denver airport.
Grace
Oh, that with the mountains.
Mickey O'Malley
Blue ice. Ice cold blue.
Grace
That's. They're known for a Coors Light.
Mickey O'Malley
I was desperately delayed, and I was like, I'm gonna kick back, have a 17, Coors Light, good old fashioned divorce beer. 100.
Grace
Star Wars. No, no.
Mickey O'Malley
Do you.
Grace
No, no, I've never seen a one.
Mickey O'Malley
I've never. I remember my family once made me go to a 10am showing of episode one because my brother.
Grace
The hell?
Mickey O'Malley
What?
Grace
Where the hell was that?
Mickey O'Malley
I was like, well, I mean, I was. I must have been so young. I must have been so young. But my brothers wanted to see it and they're like, you're coming. And I was like crying, I don't want to come. I don't like Star Wars. And like, you're coming because we're going as a family.
Grace
Oh, wow.
Mickey O'Malley
10Am Showing. Oh, can you imagine?
Grace
And you. So you have brothers. How old are they?
Mickey O'Malley
28 and 30.
Grace
Well, close in age.
Mickey O'Malley
You were all close.
Grace
Okay, totally. So it wasn't like these like little nagging little boys, but it felt like that age.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. But you know, I used to never watch anything fantasy and then I finally, 10 years late, watch Game of Thrones.
Grace
Oh.
Mickey O'Malley
And I was like this rock.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Have you seen it?
Grace
I have. I. I've watched the first season maybe five times. I keep trying my very best, so.
Mickey O'Malley
Good.
Grace
I don't. I, I don't know. Did you notice that people, they've got. They were more mad about gay incest in White Lotus than they were about.
Mickey O'Malley
I haven't watched the new season yet.
Grace
Oh, definitely. If you're scrolling.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I'd seen that much. But I'm excited to. I kind of want to. Wanted to watch it all at once.
Grace
Yes. Did you finish it all fair? Yeah. No. So I was coming home on Sunday from the airport and I was trying my very best to not get any spoilers, so I just had to shut my phone off.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
It's hard because every time I would open up, I would like see something close and I was like, I can't. I. You can't watch. It's unfortunate. This, you know, social media ruins everything and builds careers. You know, it's crazy.
Mickey O'Malley
You really can't win.
Grace
Yeah. Lastly.
Mickey O'Malley
But I do Love recommending shows 10 years late, so that's good. Check out Game of Thrones.
Grace
Have you heard of that one? Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
So did you end up watching the White Lotus finale?
Grace
I did, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
And how do you rank it with other seasons?
Grace
I will let you be the judge because I am. I'm not good spoilers. And I hate when people spoil. I love a good surprise.
Mickey O'Malley
I mean, I'm kind of asking for it by not yeah. But I'm looking forward to diving in.
Grace
Worth the damn watch. I do. I think it was a good choice for you to watch it all the way through. I wish I could have done that. Oh, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm so lucky.
Grace
You are so lucky.
Mickey O'Malley
Crushing it.
Grace
You're so lucky. Lastly, as a late night co host, we need to test your delusional confidence. Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
Got that in spades.
Grace
And what is the time your delusional. I'm sorry. Your delusion has led to success. Because if you think about it, we really are all delusional.
Mickey O'Malley
I just think in general, to, like, start doing stand up is so crazy.
Grace
That is the crazy move.
Mickey O'Malley
And to be like, this will be my career for my whole life. And I'll make enough money to have, like, a house and stuff. Stuff. I'm not there yet, but I have enough money to have rent an apartment.
Grace
And that is so. That is a New York dream right there.
Mickey O'Malley
So I think. Yeah. Deciding. Deciding to do that.
Grace
Yeah. Stepping. Stepping right in.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. Or I mean, anything creative.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Me getting so deep.
Grace
Yeah, dude. Just creativity. It's. It's such a wild world. Stepping your foot in. It's like the most delusional thing you could do.
Mickey O'Malley
Don't you think? It's a roller coaster.
Grace
Oh, my God. Ups and downs, the hills, the valleys.
Mickey O'Malley
That's got to be it. Or, like. And even to keep doing it when things, you know, it's when things are so hard, then you're like, I guess I'll just keep going.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Kind of crazy. But what else. What else are we gonna do?
Grace
I mean, what are we gonna do? I mean, sometimes you. You work so hard, you stroke out.
Mickey O'Malley
I literally did.
Grace
That's what I heard.
Mickey O'Malley
But let me ask you this before we dive into that. When you were in high school, were you like, I'm gonna be a comedian.
Grace
I was definitely playing the class clown of it all.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm laughing.
Grace
I was laughing. I was ordering pizza in detention.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, yummy.
Grace
I was. I was a little.
Mickey O'Malley
What's your favorite food?
Grace
I would say pasta.
Mickey O'Malley
What kind, though?
Grace
I'm addicted. Any. I could even. I could go plain.
Mickey O'Malley
I like just butter noodle.
Grace
I could. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
So good.
Grace
But, like, I like them all.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
I've never met a pasta I don't like. That's a fact.
Mickey O'Malley
You're lucky because that's such an easy thing to cook.
Grace
It's all I can cook.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. That's great.
Grace
And then I got the jars. Lucky for me, you know, Carbone sends me jars every once in a while.
Mickey O'Malley
They're so good. I would love to be included on that. Yeah. On that mailing list.
Grace
And one time they. They DM me asking me if I wanted some jars, and I was like, yeah, no, I love your jars, but can I get a reservation?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. For real?
Grace
They said, don't tell anybody, so I won't, but they gave me a reservation. That's amazing.
Mickey O'Malley
You deserve one. I've only been once and it was. It was like a 3:45pm lunch. It's like, no one wants that slot.
Grace
Well, I mean, you know, but guess what I did.
Mickey O'Malley
I went. Cocktails, vodka, pasta. Guess what I did afterwards. Foot massage.
Grace
Ooh.
Mickey O'Malley
Imagine having a massive meal, then you go and get a foot massage. The best day ever.
Grace
Oh, wow. That does sound like the best day ever. So do you get those foot massages? They're all over New York.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I go on to renew on West 8th.
Grace
Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
They fuck you up.
Grace
They fuck you up in a good way.
Mickey O'Malley
I bring a book, I bring my phone. Hour to the. For an hour. It's bliss.
Grace
That is lovely.
Mickey O'Malley
And it's so affordable. They do amazing work.
Grace
I think women should get. Get happy endings.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
It never is, like, an option for us.
Mickey O'Malley
I know. It would be so complicated.
Grace
Yeah, it's like a whole. It's a real whole thing. It's a lot more work and time.
Mickey O'Malley
I know there are certain places on my foot when they press that I'm like, oh, my God. You know what I mean?
Grace
Yeah. No, I don't. I've never had the foot. The foot thing.
Mickey O'Malley
We gotta get you over there. We gotta. Guys, cut this. We gotta get her over there. I don't have a foot fetish, but there's certain, like, pressure points in my foot where I'm like, my God.
Grace
I'm like, good grief, Shelly Brown. Hello.
Mickey O'Malley
Excuse me, sir. I don't know what it is, the body of the marvel.
Grace
I just did. I recently just did the. The whole scalp treatment. Going mega viral.
Mickey O'Malley
Where do you do that?
Grace
I went to Brooklyn. I went all the way over there.
Mickey O'Malley
Which. Which part?
Grace
Once I'm over there, I have no idea.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm sorry I asked.
Grace
I'm just, like, so happy I made it. You know what I mean?
Mickey O'Malley
You got a scalp massage. I really want to get one of those.
Grace
Yeah. It's incredible. So what? I didn't realize. It's a whole to do. So you get. You get there. She puts the camera into your scalp. She says, you're disgusting.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I don't need to see it. I go, actually, don't skip this part.
Grace
I'm like, this is.
Mickey O'Malley
I can't imagine what's living in here like you.
Grace
If that's something you have to do to make this the right thing, you can do that, and we don't have to share the journey. And then she told me at the top of my head, she said, are you going through something with your health? And I'm like, I don't know. This is like, the fattest I've ever been. And she was like, oh, yeah, that's definitely it. Cause you're eating fatty foods, will build up at the top of your head.
Mickey O'Malley
So at this point, she's been killed.
Grace
She's just ripping me.
Mickey O'Malley
She's just dead in a ditch. You're like, okay, moving on.
Grace
I'm like, okay, I'm gonna murder you. And then she murdered me softly with her hands.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, God. I bet it was so.
Grace
It was so beautiful. You get a hand massage, and then she lies you down. And then you do the scalp massage, and then she gets at your temples. And this is where. I never eat soggy waffles. Eastern medicine is a beautiful thing.
Mickey O'Malley
But temples, like, sometimes it hurts.
Grace
Oh, I like the way it hurts. I think that's what I'm thinking of for your feet. Pressure points.
Mickey O'Malley
Sure, sure. I don't know.
Grace
I didn't realize how tense I was. At one point, she grabbed my hand and she said, you are incredibly tense. Do you feel that? I'm like, well, I don't know the difference.
Mickey O'Malley
Right. I love when they say that. It's so validating when you're like, oh, my God, there is a huge knot here. You're like, I'm not crazy. Yeah.
Grace
Like, oh, my God. I should loosen up more.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. When a doctor someone asks, are you stressed? It's like, yeah, obviously. Who's not? Do you know anyone who isn't stressed? That person, that amazing person.
Grace
I would say that person is probably frolicking in the woods.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
You ever have any friends that have gone the ferry route?
Mickey O'Malley
What's that?
Grace
Oh, they just kind of. They'll just, like, kind of get naked in the woods and post pictures kind of thing.
Mickey O'Malley
No, but I should get into that, I think.
Grace
Huge career.
Mickey O'Malley
Get into that. I have seen the girl on TikTok who's like, come with me to drink bone broth by a stream. And she's like. She's, like, naked. She's so cold. She's ice cold, shaking. She's like, the bone broth's, like, frozen solid. She's like. And like, the camera's, like, across the stream. Like, how'd she get over there? Like, how'd she get.
Grace
That's why she's so cold. She went through the wall.
Mickey O'Malley
No, I know. I'm like, where's her crew? I'm like, get this girl a camera crew.
Grace
Like.
Mickey O'Malley
And she's like, the day. Day in my life is. Her day in her life is. Wake up. 10 minutes of journaling, drink bone broth, bed. I'm like, gold.
Grace
Sounds like she's reading the Artist's way.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, have you done it?
Grace
I am. I started the first chapter, and then I put it down like, everybody.
Mickey O'Malley
Of course.
Grace
I really want to get back into it.
Mickey O'Malley
Same. My. One of my friends who's such a cynic, texted me today, and he was like, it's life changing. I was like, shut the up.
Grace
Well, I mean, if they're. If. If the cynic friend is saying it's life changing.
Mickey O'Malley
I know.
Grace
I mean, I have one friend. She's on chapter 10, and she. She's ready to.
Mickey O'Malley
No one's ever made it that far. How many chapters are there? I mean, it's 12. Let me see this guy's. My snots coming out of my nose because of my allergies. Okay, Stop judging me.
Grace
No, you want to use this game as a. As a tissue?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, wait, the head massage was a hit.
Grace
It was a big hit. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
And have you been to Carbone?
Grace
I have, yes. And it was lovely.
Mickey O'Malley
Who'd you go with?
Grace
Rich man. When I first moved to the city, I met a billionaire, and then I've never seen him again. No, just hung around. He kept a few ladies around. Oh, we have tissues.
Mickey O'Malley
Thank you so much. Use this for promo. And say grace. Brought me to tears on the episode.
Grace
Oh, this is good, heartfelt shit.
Mickey O'Malley
Barbara Walters. I'm like, I don't want to talk about that.
Grace
No, Cap, wait.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay, so you went on a non date with a billionaire to carbon.
Grace
Yeah. It was other women.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay.
Grace
Yeah. No, this is like what the rich men do. They just keep women around. He was actually very cool and sweet and nice, and I miss him. I think he ended up finding his lucky girl and he didn't need all the whores anymore.
Mickey O'Malley
I see.
Grace
And I was never much of a whore, but I did wear a whore dress that night.
Mickey O'Malley
Are you dating someone now?
Grace
I don't really date.
Mickey O'Malley
What's happening?
Grace
I just, you know, I've been on a couple. Few bad dates and three total in the lifetime, and it just. It kind of steered me away.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. Fair enough.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Do you have any crushes?
Grace
I used to. And I would say them and they were. They were people of which I could run into in some scenes. And so I've. I've stopped saying not a comic. Yes, of course.
Mickey O'Malley
We gotta get you out of that.
Grace
This was before I was doing Stand Up Sweetheart. Really? Yeah. And so I was like doing it on and off.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
And I thought you could just riddle out who your crush of the week was and then you magically. The universe puts you right in front of them three times in one month.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. You never stop seeing them.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Do you believe in this theory that, like, what do they call it? Like, if you're not meant to see someone anymore, you won't ever run into them, even if you live in like a 1 mile radius.
Grace
It's like the opposite of serendipity.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
It's a good title for something. The opposite.
Grace
The opposite of serendipity.
Mickey O'Malley
Do you believe in serendipity? Do you believe in serendipity?
Grace
Oh, do I believe in serendipity. Honey, roll up on Sleep, it's on my sleeve.
Mickey O'Malley
Are you serious?
Grace
Yeah, it's my mother's handwriting.
Mickey O'Malley
That is so sweet.
Grace
I really. I think, I think. I think life can be serendipitous.
Mickey O'Malley
What happened to you? That was. That was Serenipitous.
Grace
Used to go to Serendipity.
Mickey O'Malley
The best food in the world.
Grace
The frozen hot chocolate.
Mickey O'Malley
Foot long hot dog, frozen hot chocolate.
Grace
I never ate the food. We always just got the hot chocolate. You gotta get the food. And so we'd go to Serendipity in New York when I was a kid and then moved to New York and then met my good pals. We met them out one night. We didn't get anyone's numbers. Like idiots. And we were like, oh, we're never gonna see them again. That's unfortunate. Then we, like crossed paths on an intersection.
Mickey O'Malley
We're like, serendipity, that's amazing.
Grace
Yeah, no, it's beautiful. It's a beautiful thing.
Mickey O'Malley
Do you know what? My boyfriend and I, when we first met, we started dating. It was really intense. He broke up with me and I was like, fuck you. I never want to see you again. Didn't talk for two months. I'm walking down fifth Avenue one day, he's walking towards me in a suit. We got back together. Been together ever since.
Grace
That sounds like meeting up on the bridge. Moe. Enjoy.
Mickey O'Malley
It was Moeand Decor. It was Moyan decor.
Grace
Moeand Decor.
Mickey O'Malley
But we didn't plan it. I looked like shit. He looked amazing.
Grace
Oh, well, that's the thing about fellas. They can.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. The first thing I said was, I'm not supposed to look like this right now. I'm not supposed to look this right now.
Grace
You are. You were just writing your own movie at that point.
Mickey O'Malley
I was.
Grace
Don't look at me.
Mickey O'Malley
Don't look at me.
Grace
Don't look at me.
Mickey O'Malley
I had just shaved my legs like there was blood going down them because, you know. Yeah, no, you gotta like toilet paper.
Grace
You shave and you run.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, exactly.
Grace
Yeah. It's a little sink tr.
Mickey O'Malley
But that was serendipitous. And six years later, here we are.
Grace
No way.
Mickey O'Malley
I know.
Grace
So this little retreat you did, was this just you and your boyfriend or was it with friends as well?
Mickey O'Malley
What retreat you just came back from Ski trip, Colorado. Where I had a chorus light in the airport. It was me and him. And then two of his besties came.
Grace
Oh, hell yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
It was really cute.
Grace
Rock on.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
And we get along with the besties, love. That's very important. Sorry, we have a. The end of the world going by real quick.
Mickey O'Malley
Is this facing first half?
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
When I first moved to New York, I lived 14th and 2nd.
Grace
No way.
Mickey O'Malley
Part of it all.
Grace
I just moved from 14th and 2nd. 13th, but.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, 13th and 2nd.
Grace
13Th and 2nd.
Mickey O'Malley
So good.
Grace
It was lovely. Right near Jackdaw.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, yeah. That wasn't there then, I don't think.
Grace
Oh, my apologies.
Mickey O'Malley
Wait, so. And thank you for saying that. Thank you for apologizing. So now you're Kips Bay?
Grace
I know I'm Kips Bay.
Mickey O'Malley
You almost have a nice place.
Grace
Um, yeah, we're rocking. We're rocking in the free world. Got one bedroom and we're making it work between two sisters.
Mickey O'Malley
I knew twin brothers who lived. Who shared a one bedroom.
Grace
Really?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
That sounds sexual.
Mickey O'Malley
But they're doing very well professionally now.
Grace
Oh, good for them.
Mickey O'Malley
So it's a good home.
Grace
These two twin brothers, are they in the industry adjacent?
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
Oh, so they're managers?
Mickey O'Malley
No, no, they're more. More in the theatrical side.
Grace
Who's the most famous person you know?
Mickey O'Malley
That's such a good question.
Grace
And that was such a rich laugh.
Mickey O'Malley
I can. Who will yours be?
Grace
Oh, no, you're not supposed to ask.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, you can't turn. I can't turn.
Grace
You actually can't turn.
Mickey O'Malley
I can't turn the table.
Grace
I don't think this is gonna work out.
Mickey O'Malley
Come on, please. It was going so well.
Grace
So here's my follow up question to. Oh, wait, Pardon Excuse me.
Mickey O'Malley
Of course.
Grace
Glitched. In your special, you express how you quit your job because you, quote, couldn't wake up and go there. Yes.
Mickey O'Malley
By the way, this is so professional and amazing.
Grace
Thank you so much.
Mickey O'Malley
It makes me feel so supported.
Grace
Yeah, no, this is, this is late night, but podcasting.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I love it.
Grace
Yeah, I'm trying. Best.
Mickey O'Malley
If you would have worn, like, a floor, you should have your guests wear, like, floor length formal gowns.
Grace
I was, I was keeping up with a 70s theme for a little bit, and then I realized I don't wash my clothes that often.
Mickey O'Malley
It's. It's hard to wash your clothes. Do you have a laundry?
Grace
If you smell anything, it is because this sweatshirt was accidentally left in the washer for two days.
Mickey O'Malley
I know.
Grace
And then I just dried it and then I.
Mickey O'Malley
But drying it, doesn't that kill any germs?
Grace
It just doesn't smell as fresh.
Mickey O'Malley
Can I smell it?
Grace
Oh, yes. I put a lot of perfume on it.
Mickey O'Malley
Hold on. Yes, it smells like perfume.
Grace
Okay. Wonderful.
Mickey O'Malley
Wonderful.
Grace
That is a good old fashioned glossier.
Mickey O'Malley
I knew it was gonna be a you glossier.
Grace
You baby.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm wearing a bell bottom today, so it's a little something.
Grace
Oh, there we go. 70s. Yeah. And you're showing a little shoulder.
Mickey O'Malley
I know, but you know what I don't like about podcasting is like, I don't want to be filmed sitting down.
Grace
Yeah. That's why I closed this up.
Mickey O'Malley
You're so lucky. When I was like, oh, yes. I was like, she doesn't have to deal with this.
Grace
Yeah. Because I, I sit like a, like a, like a, A dude.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
I, I man spread.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
And so if I'm wearing a skirt, you're going to see my skivvies.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
If I'm wearing any, I don't wear them, honey.
Grace
I don't. I don't wear them unless I'm wearing a skirt or a dress.
Mickey O'Malley
If I'm wearing a long skirt or a dress, I'm still not.
Grace
If I'm wearing short clothes, I don't like that.
Mickey O'Malley
If I'm wearing short, I'm wearing something. If I'm gonna be on stage too, I'm gonna have to wear something.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
I was at my friend's house for a show and she was like, okay, you have to wear underwear with that. And I was like, stop. She was like, please, please, please don't ruin your life.
Grace
That's a good friend.
Mickey O'Malley
She is a good friend.
Grace
Because then you'd have your first nudie going around and that's going around New York City. Not just let them in high school.
Mickey O'Malley
Let Mel Robbins. Let them.
Grace
Okay, Mel Robbins.
Mickey O'Malley
Now I. Yeah, get the nudes out. But I still have it going on.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
You know, but yeah, on my podcast, I'm always clutching a pillow and it's like, what am I ashamed of? What am I ashamed of? Nothing.
Grace
I do the same. I do. And if I go to a, like a guy's podcasting studio and they don't.
Mickey O'Malley
Have pillows or decor, they don't understand.
Grace
I'm standing like this, like. Oh, my God. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
So confident, so comedy.
Grace
I can't help it.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God.
Grace
Well, anywho, if you were to become my co host, should I send a morning messenger to drag you out of bed to do your part?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, this wasn't. This was a 12:30 meeting. I've. I've just come out of my Benadryl haze.
Grace
Oh, wow. Oh.
Mickey O'Malley
But I am once again.
Grace
Are you an addict?
Mickey O'Malley
Not yet, no.
Grace
She might need a little more.
Mickey O'Malley
I've been having like, this allergy thing for like a full month. I'm going to go to the doctor.
Grace
I'm so sorry.
Mickey O'Malley
No, I'm completely fine.
Grace
You're going to be all right.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm the luckiest girl in the world.
Grace
You are. You truly are. So my follow up question is, are.
Mickey O'Malley
You a morning person? Sorry.
Grace
Yes.
Mickey O'Malley
Really?
Grace
I will tell everyone on camera that I am. The answer is actually no.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay.
Grace
They were doing construction on my building today and that's the only reason I woke up.
Mickey O'Malley
That's great. Thank you.
Grace
They usually wait till about 10.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, yeah.
Grace
To start banging, so. Okay, my follow up question here is, what sound would it take for you to wake up?
Mickey O'Malley
It would take a lot because I. I sleep with, like, my AirPods in and like a huge sleep mask.
Grace
Oh, so you do the whole thing?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
Do you pay for sleep? The app. The app that just always pops up.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I know what you mean. Every, like, every two years, I'll subscribe to like a meditation app. It.
Grace
And it was calm. I think it's called Whatever. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Calm sleep. Headspace. No, I listened to. There's just like a podcast episode called like brown noise for 12 hours.
Grace
So. Brown Noise, someone told me about that.
Mickey O'Malley
It's just similar to white noise, but a little bit more sleep. I don't know. Someone just told me to listen to it and I do it. I'm told.
Grace
I'm interested because I. I was seeing some of those ads and I'm like, I don't really like white noise.
Mickey O'Malley
I'LL send you the episode.
Grace
But they, they, they, they got me though, because it, it came up and it was, it was called Green noise and it was like gooey, gooey sounds. I kind of liked it.
Mickey O'Malley
I get that TikTok that's like let this sound wash over you and it's a green cloud. It really is good.
Grace
Yeah, I did, I fell for that. So I think I'm still paying for that. So, like, would a foghorn work?
Mickey O'Malley
Sure.
Grace
On you? What about.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, what is a. I mean, fog. It sounds like the most old timey.
Grace
Thing in the world, I think. Or air raid siren.
Mickey O'Malley
Sure.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
I was hoping no, because I have neighbors who scream.
Grace
Yeah, this is New York, baby.
Mickey O'Malley
New York City, baby. I, I zoom right through them.
Grace
A machine gun.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, I, I would hope not.
Grace
I think I would sleep through a machine gun, if I'm being honest.
Xavier Phillips

Okay, so this next segment, it's called in the green room. This is where we get to know you. You know, get a little intimate. So in your standup you've talked about how you love online shopping. What was the last thing you purchased?
Mickey O'Malley
Great question. I got some tights from like an Instagram Apple. They're the kind not sheer text, but they're like, we don't run. You know, like we don't like.
Grace
Pardon?
Mickey O'Malley
Like when tights run, was it like when they have a snag?
Grace
No, but they don't run. Yeah, no, you're right.
Mickey O'Malley
And they're like. And so I'm a sucker. I'm like, oh, let's see if this works. So they have arrived. I haven't worn them Yet. But so far, any brand that said that hasn't really been true.
Grace
Oh, yeah, no, that's true. So you should test them out.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
And be the voice of the people. Really?
Mickey O'Malley
I should put them on, then just, like, throw myself off a hill and see if it, like. Like it catches on anything.
Grace
That's a great brand deal. You should talk to them.
Mickey O'Malley
When I go fairy. When I go fairy mode.
Grace
You're currently doing shows every Wednesday, starting this week at clubcoming.
Mickey O'Malley
I do Wednesdays at clubcoming when I'm in the city.
Grace
Wonderful.
Mickey O'Malley
You have to come do one.
Grace
I would. I would love to.
Mickey O'Malley
It's so fun.
Grace
I've done a show there.
Mickey O'Malley
It's so fun.
Grace
It's so much fun. It's a great. It's a great vibe. It's. It's. It's perfect. It's really great.
Mickey O'Malley
I've been doing shows there since 2017.
Grace
Really?
Mickey O'Malley
Isn't that crazy?
Grace
Wow.
Mickey O'Malley
That was the first one. And then we've been doing Wednesday days ever since. And even through the pandemic, we did like, Instagram lives and we did, like. It was crazy. We did a show there without an audience, which was obviously completely bizarre. No. LAUGHTER Doing stand up. No.
Grace
Yeah. No, that's difficult.
Mickey O'Malley
It was a. It was a rough time.
Grace
Oh, God.
Mickey O'Malley
We're moving on. We're past it.
Grace
Did you. So you didn't. You didn't like doing that? No.
Mickey O'Malley
I wouldn't recommend doing stand up without an audience.
Grace
Yeah. That's fair.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. But, yeah, Wednesday nights, if you live in New York, come see me. It's fun.
Grace
Wonderful. So that's. That's owned by, like, Alan Cumming, the legend himself. And I'm such a ditz. I only know him from Spy Kids, of course.
Mickey O'Malley
Well, major role. Josie and the Pussycats.
Grace
Yes.
Mickey O'Malley
Romeo and Michelle's high school reunion.
Grace
Of course.
Mickey O'Malley
So many classics. Spice World, Traders, if you will. Traitors, if you will. Yeah. He's the best.
Grace
If offered. Would you go on Traders?
Mickey O'Malley
Of course. Wouldn't you?
Grace
I don't know. I don't think I would.
Mickey O'Malley
I don't think I'd be very good at.
Grace
I'm a bad liar. I've done reality shows on YouTube.
Mickey O'Malley
What was that like? What's your.
Grace
I tried to lie and instead I started singing when you wish it was crazy.
Mickey O'Malley
I love that.
Grace
Yeah. So I'm not very good at lying or being deceitful. That's honest. Yeah. It's also. It's a. It's a gift and a curse, really. Yeah. Cuz if I'M not with you. I will say it to your face.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. Let me know.
Grace
It's. No, I will.
Mickey O'Malley
Let me know when we finish. I can't wait to find out.
Grace
Like, whenever someone's just being a. But you're. You are being a. And everyone's thinking it. I'm saying it.
Mickey O'Malley
That's great.
Grace
Yeah, it's. But, you know, it's. It's hard to keep friendships that way, really.
Mickey O'Malley
Wait, wait. Okay, so I wanted to say this. I just started the most recent season of Traders uk and this woman is picked to be a traitor. And then as soon as. As soon as the lights come back on, the host is like, okay, Traders. And she's like, turns her head, like, what? Oh, no, that would be me on the show. Like. Yep, Traders.
Grace
Yep. Another show that I just found out was back on is. I don't know if you've ever watched lol. I think it's called lol. It's a bunch of comedians that get put in one room and it's on Amazon and they try not to laugh.
Mickey O'Malley
It's all like, British.
Grace
Yeah. So they started with Australian, and then they have, like, a French one, which I couldn't get into.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
And then they have a British one right now that just came out.
Mickey O'Malley
That's so fun.
Grace
And I think you would be great at that.
Mickey O'Malley
Let's do it.
Grace
I think. I think we need to get a casting call going for America's Elm.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. I need to watch it because I've seen, like, little clips. I think they did an Irish version and. Yeah.
Grace
Did they do an Irish.
Mickey O'Malley
I think so. It looks really funny.
Grace
I wouldn't watch the hell out of that.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm surprised they haven't done American version yet.
Grace
Yeah. Right. I think that's like, a fun little game to try to figure out who would be, like, the best comedians to get put into a room. So you pick. We'll go five comedians. Who are the best comedians to get put into a room to try to make each other laugh and the other ones can't.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, is that how it works? Some of them can laugh and some can't.
Grace
No, they all can't laugh. I'm sorry. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, God. I don't know. It's such a weird thing.
Grace
I think you would be great. I think. Who else? Like, like someone who does, like. Like. Like bits, I think. Yeah. Because you've got it covered with the singing, so we don't need a singer. I don't know. It is. It's worth thinking About.
Mickey O'Malley
Well, we'll have a brainstorm.
Grace
Can we go back to your stroke?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, yeah, I forgot.
Grace
Yes. Is it because of the stroke?
Mickey O'Malley
No, thankfully.
Grace
Are you all right?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, but I guess, I mean, I still act the way I'm acting.
Grace
You thought it was gonna uno, reverse.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I thought. I like. Well, I'm like, oh, that's why I've been acting like 30 years. But it's actually. No, that's your normal factory setting. Yeah, Yeah, I had. It was two summer 20, 23. Didn't know I was born with a hole in my heart.
Grace
Oh, wow.
Mickey O'Malley
Well, I found out because I had a stroke in there. I was like, why did this happen?
Grace
Oh, wow.
Mickey O'Malley
And then they did all the scans and stuff. They're like, yeah, there's a hole. And then they filled it up. Oh, I know.
Grace
They just filled her up.
Mickey O'Malley
They just filled her out up.
Grace
I didn't know you could do such things.
Mickey O'Malley
You can do whatever you want. Don't.
Grace
Damn.
Mickey O'Malley
I know.
Grace
You don't need one of them pacemakers.
Mickey O'Malley
No, just there's a little something you.
Grace
Got smell in your heart.
Mickey O'Malley
There's something in there and I didn't want to know what it was. My boyfriend looked it up. He's like, it's. I was like, don't tell me. I don't know. I was like, just let them do it. And. Yeah, I'm working on my new show and it's about, it's about that.
Grace
Oh, wow. Yeah, that's great.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm gonna do it this summer at the Fringe.
Grace
At Fringe, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Have you been?
Grace
I haven't. No. People. People love it.
Mickey O'Malley
It's so fun.
Grace
It's like a great, great place to work out material.
Mickey O'Malley
Definitely.
Grace
I. I'm trying to get these guys, guys involved in what goes on in comedy. Cuz they're new to the comedy scene.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
And Fringe is like a great place for people to work out their. Their shows.
Mickey O'Malley
It's so fun. And it's just a big party.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. You should just come and like, come for a weekend and like see stuff and hang out and do spots.
Grace
I would love to do that.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
Yeah, that'd be sick.
Mickey O'Malley
It's really fun.
Grace
And do you have like, do you meet a lot of friends when you go over there?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I've made so many amazing friends. It's so cool because then you all of a sudden you have friends from all over the world, like New Zealand and did shows. I knew people there in Australia and England and, and Ireland and Scotland and. Yeah. And America where we where we get to live.
Grace
Yeah. For which it is.
Mickey O'Malley
We get to live here.
Grace
Everyone's worried for us. I will say, what. What does your analytics look like on. On social media?
Mickey O'Malley
What the hell does that mean?
Grace
So the question is, okay, where are your fans based if not here?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, yeah, I would say. I would say here in. In London.
Grace
Oh, okay, gotcha.
Mickey O'Malley
And Australia.
Grace
Oh, Australia. Yeah, Australia.
Mickey O'Malley
I did some. It was so fun.
Grace
Wow.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I feel like. But it's so funny. I've been doing my podcast for so long and that I kind of forget I'm doing it, but, like, that still is the best way to reach people.
Grace
Oh, yeah, totally. 100.
Mickey O'Malley
Because you kind of do it and then you just send it out and you're like, whatever. Yeah, exactly. And you're like, you know, you're not getting that direct reaction. But then, you know, Pat and I, my co host, we joke that we have 30amazing listeners now. People come up to me. No. But now everywhere I go, people go, I'm one of the 30.
Grace
Oh, wow. I'm like, they're in intimate group.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. It's starting to hurt my feelings.
Grace
We'll put 30 T shirts out.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, exactly.
Grace
And see how many sell 31 T.
Mickey O'Malley
Shirts and see if we can get that. 31.
Grace
Yeah, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
But shout out to the 30. I love you guys.
Grace
Speaking of such. You were on Only Murders in the Building.
Mickey O'Malley
I was.
Grace
You were. What was it like working with that cast?
Mickey O'Malley
Kind of major.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Kind of heaven on earth.
Grace
I mean, that. That could have been a couple of the few that you could have listed of the most famous.
Mickey O'Malley
I was shaking in my boobs.
Grace
Oh, my goodness.
Mickey O'Malley
I know. The only celeb I've ever asked for a selfie was Steve Martin.
Grace
Really?
Mickey O'Malley
On the last day, I was like, could I get a picture fully shaking?
Grace
Do you have that picture?
Mickey O'Malley
Of course.
Grace
Can we insert it?
Mickey O'Malley
I'm looking like, he's so sweet, but I grew up, Father. The Bride was my favorite movie growing up. I've just, like, been a fan of his for my whole life, you know? And I knew my family will be so gagged.
Grace
Oh, of course.
Mickey O'Malley
My parents respond, we're gagged.
Grace
It's like, who's bum on down?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. But the last day, I was like, hi, can I have a photo? He was like, yeah, of course.
Grace
Course. Oh, that's really sweet. So he's good about it.
Mickey O'Malley
So nice fedora. I don't remember. I'll send you the photo. It's cute.
Grace
Perfect.
Mickey O'Malley
But, yeah, that was. That was a dream. And getting to meet Molly Shannon, who I've also idolized my whole life.
Grace
That's really cool.
Mickey O'Malley
I know.
Grace
She is a rock star.
Mickey O'Malley
I know. It's such a fun show. They're shooting the new season now. I'm like, wait.
Grace
Hello.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm like, I don't want to come back.
Grace
Were there any off camera moments that the. With the cast?
Mickey O'Malley
That felt surreal just being there in general. But it was very. Everyone was very, like, chill, little laid back, like, did their work.
Grace
It sounds like they move fast. I think I've heard that in interviews.
Mickey O'Malley
They do move fast. And they finish like before dinner time. Let's go.
Grace
Yeah, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
In and out. That's great.
Grace
Did you take anything from the set?
Mickey O'Malley
Just the memories of my heart.
Grace
Oh, my God. It's so adorable and sweet. Truly and honestly. Oh, my God. If you could guest star on any other show right now, which would it be?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. What shows are. What shows are happening right now. I mean, I want to be on White Lotus, obviously.
Grace
Oh, yeah, of course. Did you know that everybody gets paid all the same salary?
Mickey O'Malley
I saw that.
Grace
I think that's really smart. That's a good way to get everybody in.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I don't know enough.
Grace
I. Yeah, I don't. I don't listen. I feel like I would be pissed or something. I don't know. I'm not sure.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, but obviously that's the dream show to be on.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Can you imagine? Everybody's watching and it's so fun. Yeah, that'd be amazing. I'm trying to think of what else.
Grace
And like, the benefit of that is you get to stay in a resort.
Mickey O'Malley
Exactly.
Grace
Like the whole time.
Mickey O'Malley
So, so fun.
Grace
It's like Love island, but, like, you're doing something.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm the biggest Love island fan.
Grace
Are you?
Mickey O'Malley
Have you seen it all?
Grace
I haven't watched any of it.
Mickey O'Malley
Great.
Grace
I'm so sorry. I know. This is where I defer.
Mickey O'Malley
So special. What do you watch?
Grace
I watch. I watch like Real Housewives.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm just getting into that.
Grace
Okay. Those are really good. I say watch New York from the beginning. That's really good.
Mickey O'Malley
Right now I'm doing Beverly Hills in the beginning.
Grace
Oh, that's really good too.
Mickey O'Malley
It's insane. Yeah, it's quite dark and they don't.
Grace
Even know what they're getting themselves into because it was so brand new. That's. That's the fun part.
Mickey O'Malley
I know New York is next on my list, but I have so much to work through. I'm caught up on Salt Lake City because that was accessible.
Grace
Oh, yeah. That was easy.
Mickey O'Malley
That was accessible.
Grace
Yeah. Four. Four seasons they've been doing.
Mickey O'Malley
But the earlier seasons are so much better.
Grace
They're having all those little Nepo children just run. Run in gallivant around the city. Did you see they just announced that new show with Brooks. Yes.
Mickey O'Malley
Brooks Marks. Yes, I swear. And with. So who else is on it? Okay. She's Jersey Housewives.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay. I don't know her sassy little one.
Grace
She is.
Mickey O'Malley
So what's the premise of that show? Just like we're in New York.
Grace
It's like we are. We are Nepos and we are figuring our lives out.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. Respect. And they didn't reach out to us.
Grace
I know. It's really. Well, I mean, as a plumber's daughter.
Mickey O'Malley
Right, right.
Grace
It's a little hard to get the Nepo in me, but, you know, I'm.
Mickey O'Malley
Sure I need to see. Is there a trailer? I need to see that.
Grace
Yeah, there's a trailer.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm excited to see it. I just saw like a. Still on my phone.
Grace
Yeah, no, so they are. They are going to be ripping through the city. I think it's just called Next Gen nyc.
Mickey O'Malley
Did you watch NYC Prep?
Grace
I didn't.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. Okay. I can't wait to see that. That's going to be juicy.
Grace
It's good stuff. Moving right along. What is your creative process like?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God.
Grace
Jokes, songs and poems all get written the same way.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God, girl. No, I'm just. I'm working on my new show right now and I'm like, how does this happen? Even when you've done it before, you're like, how did I do that?
Grace
That's true.
Mickey O'Malley
I would say the main way I do it is by booking. Booking shows. I mean, I have to have something to say on this date.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
And then sitting on my.
Grace
Giving yourself a deadline.
Mickey O'Malley
Always a deadline. And then praying to the spirit guides to send me something because I really do believe, like, not to be so woo woo. But it's like, I'm like, it has nothing to do with me. I just like, get an idea and that. I'm like, where's that coming from? Just like, do you know what I mean? You're like, okay, today I'm having an idea and the next day I probably. I might not. But it's just, you know, they control.
Grace
They go, how do you do? How do you snatch? I don't. I. I do.
Mickey O'Malley
You just get up there and you're like, I'm gonna see what happens.
Grace
I. No, I write and I, I, I try new jokes out. I have, like, a weekly that I try them out at and. And, you know, sometimes they hit and sometimes they don't.
Mickey O'Malley
Where's your weekly?
Grace
At the stand.
Mickey O'Malley
Heaven.
Grace
Yeah. It's good stuff.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay. Fun. Yeah. That's a good way of doing it, too.
Grace
Come by.
Mickey O'Malley
I would love to do some.
Grace
Do. Do a spot if you want. Yeah, of course.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. That's great.
Grace
I'm always. I'm always pushing something on this, on this pod.
Mickey O'Malley
Of course. It's your platform.
Grace
Yeah. You know, which it is.
Mickey O'Malley
And once I get my photo on the wall.
Grace
Oh, absolutely.
Mickey O'Malley
I'll be.
Grace
Yeah, we're getting pretty. We really want to fill it all the way up.
Mickey O'Malley
That's nice.
Grace
Like, like, it is like a comedy.
Mickey O'Malley
Club kind of thing. Yeah. Cool.
Grace
So.
Mickey O'Malley
But, yeah, I think just knowing that you have the deadline is the only way to get things done.
Grace
Yeah. 100%. Your comedy, it infuses your love for music. Was music always a focus of your comedy or did you start working it into your acts?
Mickey O'Malley
I'm always infusing, infusing.
Grace
I'.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I started doing, like, stand up and then I missed singing because I grew up being, like, a theater kid. And I was like, I wonder if I can do some songs.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
That aren't horrible. And then the rest is history.
Grace
They'd be rocking. They'd be rocking and rolling.
Mickey O'Malley
I love it. It's fun. It's also fun because if you're doing a show with a song, you're not waiting on a reaction. You're just barreling through.
Grace
Yes.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm like, this is happening. Whether or not you guys are going.
Grace
To get it through.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm like, boom, it's going to be three minutes. Where's the joke? If something's stops, it's not going well. You're like, where do I go from here? Ah, yeah. So it's sort of. It's a sort of a nice crutch.
Grace
It is like. I wouldn't. I wouldn't call it a crush. I just think it's an alley. Oop.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay. I would.
Grace
Yeah. Crush makes it like. It's like a negative.
Mickey O'Malley
Right. And it's more of an alley. It's an alley when you put it that way.
Grace
Of course. Do you have any embarrassing audition stories?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. I mean, there's so many. One that comes to mind is I. I rarely ever do, like. Oh, was it. It was for, like, a musical, a proper musical, and I hadn't sung something, like, legit. In so long. And I was kind of sick, and when I got to the final note, it just didn't come out. And I go, you guys get it? No laughs. No laughs. I was like, you know, I'd hit that for real. You get where it would go. And they're just like, thank you. I was like, that's funny.
Grace
That was funny. But in the theater, the sense of humor's not always there.
Mickey O'Malley
They were very serious.
Grace
Mmm. Darling, I'm sorry for your troubles.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. But I really miss auditioning in person. It used to be. Be, like, fun.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Now it's just you.
Grace
They don't really do that anymore. Right.
Mickey O'Malley
It's just. Yeah.
Grace
Send your tape.
Mickey O'Malley
I know. And then you're becoming like, a whole production house. Because I'm like, me balancing my. My iPhone on my.
Grace
Oh, the setups are always hilarious of, like, what you put your phone on and, like, trying to have a light. And then whoever you choose to run lines with you, they want you dead. Yeah. They want to kill you.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, my God. My boyfriend and I, we. We don't do it anymore together. We can't.
Grace
There's no. There's nothing they gain. It's like a full and utmost just selfless acts. Selfless act. It's a. It's a big favor.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally. I usually I'll, like, pay someone to help me now.
Grace
Oh, that's good.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. If I think it's a good one.
Grace
She's got money now.
Mickey O'Malley
I wish, honey. I'm like, where? No, you know what we always say? You know what we say? Manual. The money's coming in.
Grace
Yeah, the money's coming in.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm not worried about it because the money's coming in.
Grace
Yeah, there it is.
Mickey O'Malley
Of course it is.
Grace
Yes.
Mickey O'Malley
But it's hard out here.
Grace
Yeah, it is.
Mickey O'Malley
You know, I mean, you do shows and you're like, wait, there's. That's the check. I'm like, I'm ready. I'm ready for some big arenas. Let's go.
Grace
Oh, arenas.
Mickey O'Malley
I mean, why not dream big?
Grace
I mean, I've been saying that I'm going to be the first ever comedic act at the Super Bowl. Don't laugh.
Mickey O'Malley
What would you wear? What would you wear?
Grace
I would wear both colors of the team.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, great.
Grace
Both teams. And I would just really, I would. I would razzle dazzle them.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. Truly and honestly, I'm ready for it. America's ready for it.
Grace
I. I don't think they are yet. I think we. I think we need some time.
Mickey O'Malley
But there's A lot going on.
Grace
It's worth it. It's worth it. One day it's worth it. What's your top artist right now?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, you know who I love is cmat. Did you listen to cmat?
Grace
I don't know. Cmat?
Mickey O'Malley
Amazing Irish musician. It's like poppy, country, rock. You're gonna love her. She's major.
Grace
And I was picturing a guy.
Mickey O'Malley
Wow. And that's on you. You need to unlearn that.
Grace
I know.
Mickey O'Malley
Guys, can we have a doctor help my friend unlearn that? But she has a new album out or. It's coming out. Very good.
Grace
Oh, hell yeah. Rock. Is this a friend of yours by chance?
Mickey O'Malley
We are friendly.
Grace
Oh, cool. Yeah, very cool.
Mickey O'Malley
We just met recently. Yeah, she's really great.
Grace
Do you have an artist that you love but you're deeply embarrassed to admit?
Mickey O'Malley
I'm not. I mean, I'm. I'm not embarrassed how much. I'm like a huge Swifty.
Grace
Okay. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
So I, I, I like love. Which is not embarrassing because I think she's major.
Grace
Have you ever attended a Swifty night?
Mickey O'Malley
No, but I would.
Grace
They have them at Ray's.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, that's fine.
Grace
Like every Thursday.
Mickey O'Malley
Are you a Swiftie?
Grace
No.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay, cool.
Grace
But I do like her.
Mickey O'Malley
Would you come?
Grace
I. No.
Mickey O'Malley
Cool.
Grace
No, thank you. Oh, cool. So we'll meet there. So we'll meet up there. No, but I think that's something you could do with your other Swifty pals.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. Embarrassing to listen to.
Grace
I mean, I don't think that's embarrassing.
Mickey O'Malley
No, no, no. I'm trying to think of, like. I don't think I have a good answer. Cause what's really embarrassing? Nothing like the Wiggle.
Grace
Wiggles. But they do have a lot of features.
Mickey O'Malley
What?
Grace
Yeah, the Wiggles dropped, like, a crazy album with a bunch of.
Mickey O'Malley
Aren't they. They're Australian, right?
Grace
Yeah, they are.
Mickey O'Malley
When I was on tour there, someone was like, that's the Wiggles house. Okay, cool.
Grace
They still. They're still fucking with each other, I guess.
Mickey O'Malley
That's like the main Wiggles. His house.
Grace
Oh, wow.
Mickey O'Malley
The main Wiggles.
Grace
Who's the main Wiggle? That's not fair. They all truly do great. The one. The one in the.
Mickey O'Malley
The Wiggles.
Grace
The red shirt, you said.
Mickey O'Malley
What are they? They're for kids.
Grace
They're just fellas that like to sing. And. And actually there's a documentary about them. It's actually pretty interesting.
Mickey O'Malley
Okay.
Grace
We're here in New York City, and.
Mickey O'Malley
That's true.
Grace
Yeah. But last summer you were international honey.
Mickey O'Malley
This is so nice.
Grace
This is like.
Mickey O'Malley
You really, like, did research. How was your comedy tour? Someone did good research on your behalf.
Grace
Oh, no, it's an equal playing field. I love that.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I did my first European tour.
Grace
Yes.
Mickey O'Malley
It was heaven on earth.
Grace
Was it?
Mickey O'Malley
I mean, I made a little vacation too. So I was. I would, like, go to a city, stay there for like two or three days and then go to the next one.
Grace
Oh, that's the way to do it.
Mickey O'Malley
It was so fun.
Grace
Hell, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I would say the Dublin crowd was the most fun.
Grace
Rock on.
Mickey O'Malley
The Berlin crowd was really fun. Paris was a little rough.
Grace
Oh, yeah, they're snooty.
Mickey O'Malley
And it was a very early show. Like, it was still light outside. I was like, this isn't the vibe I like. I like late night drunk, like fun, like sexy. I don't want sun peeping into the theater.
Grace
No, we don't want any sun peeping Toms.
Mickey O'Malley
No, we can't have that.
Grace
Especially in France.
Mickey O'Malley
No. Yeah, I. I don't speak a word of French, so I felt like really stupid the whole time and.
Grace
Yeah, and they will. They'll make you feel stupid.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, but it's so beautiful.
Grace
Yeah, it's gorgeous. Would you go back?
Mickey O'Malley
I can't wait to go back.
Grace
Oh, rock on.
Mickey O'Malley
I love running away from my life and going places, don't you?
Grace
Going, Going abroad, going away. I do. I like. I like to keep moving, you know, because if not that, that. That scary guy starts talking.
Mickey O'Malley
We have to get that guy, you know, My healer calls that your healer? My healer.
Grace
Girl, you're crazy.
Mickey O'Malley
I know. I'm actually not.
Grace
No, I know. I'm sorry. I should be more open minded.
Mickey O'Malley
No, but I know I sound crazy.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
But that's the funny thing, that I'm actually incredibly grounded.
Grace
Yes. And did your healer tell you this?
Mickey O'Malley
My healer calls it the roommate. You're like, get out. Get out.
Grace
Oh, get that roommate out of there.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm like, that's just your stupid roommate. Get out. Okay. You have a negative thoughts, like, oh, get my roommate out.
Grace
Oh, I like that. That's good.
Mickey O'Malley
Nice.
Grace
What the hell? What is a healer? Yeah, yeah, I know. I just have to ask.
Mickey O'Malley
Well, it's just a woman that I met through a friend and now we zoom every week.
Grace
Oh, well, God. And so do you do therapy on top of that or just.
Mickey O'Malley
I actually let that go. Okay, well, you know, you know.
Grace
Did she talk you out of it?
Mickey O'Malley
She didn't, but I do.
Grace
She said, that's your roommate. Get that therapist out of there. That's your roommate.
Mickey O'Malley
The therapy stuff. I've had so many different therapists, and I just felt like when it's talk. When it's normal talk therapy, I would just talk myself to death, ruminate, be in a worse mood afterwards. And I was like, I'm gonna try a different mode.
Grace
Okay. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Are you in therapy?
Grace
No. Yeah, I tried. Maybe that's why I'm so. I'm not grounded.
Mickey O'Malley
Yes, you are.
Grace
What's the opposite of being grounded? Being naughty, I suppose.
Mickey O'Malley
Are you naughty?
Grace
Yeah. I mean, yes. I guess I just need to keep a more open mind, and I think therapy would help me with that. Or a healer.
Mickey O'Malley
I think you have an open mind and heart.
Grace
Yes. You know, and I did have a therapist, and I thought, I want a young girl, but that's just. Oh, no, no.
Mickey O'Malley
I think I want an old man.
Grace
Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
And I want to be kind of, like, horny. I feel like that would. I'd do better work in that environment.
Grace
Sexy thing, like, he throws.
Mickey O'Malley
I throw myself on the desk.
Grace
I'm like, oh, my. You've watched a lot of porn.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Of course. Who has?
Grace
Yes, of course.
Mickey O'Malley
There's so much out there.
Grace
It's illegal in Florida. Found that out.
Mickey O'Malley
Porn is illegal. To watch.
Grace
To watch. Can't find it.
Mickey O'Malley
What do you mean?
Grace
I mean what I said.
Mickey O'Malley
Is that new?
Grace
Yeah, that's a new rule. They couldn't come to terms with whatever the law they were putting. Putting in, so the porn company said, I don't feel like dealing with this, so no porn for you guys.
Mickey O'Malley
So everyone in Florida is just like.
Grace
Yeah, and that's not good for Florida if they're all. If they're all literally, like, they can't get off.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
I mean, there's. You've seen the headline. Florida man.
Mickey O'Malley
I know.
Grace
Florida woman, Florida community is about to bust.
Mickey O'Malley
What porn do you like? What porn do you like? Queen. New segment.
Grace
My sister's here. What's yours?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, right. It's funny. I was thinking about, like. I'm like, oh, it'd be so fun to work with my brother. And I was like, wait, no way. I have a sex podcast.
Grace
I can't do that.
Mickey O'Malley
My family's not allowed to listen to my podcast.
Grace
Yeah, that's. You tell them that. But they still listen.
Mickey O'Malley
I. I hope not. They haven't talked about it to me.
Grace
Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
They're definitely not allowed. And they know that.
Grace
It's like reading a diary.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
Yeah. It's not very fair. It's like, oh, I get to Spill all my guts and you guys get to read it.
Mickey O'Malley
Have you ever read someone's diary?
Grace
I. I have. My dad read my diary when I was a kid.
Mickey O'Malley
That's horrible.
Grace
Yeah, we had a.
Mickey O'Malley
What was he worried about?
Grace
Oh, I was saying some pretty crazy stuff.
Mickey O'Malley
Like what?
Grace
I was in seventh grade saying I was. I was. I took the. The bottle of liquor and hid in the closet and drank a little.
Mickey O'Malley
Did you?
Grace
Yeah, I wrote that. And then I also wrote about, you know, you're in seventh grade, you see Tumblr, you think you can do whatever the hell.
Mickey O'Malley
There's some scary stuff.
Grace
Yeah. I mean, they'll teach you things that you didn't even know were possible.
Mickey O'Malley
Wow.
Grace
And so I was writing about that, and then my dad took me into a room and he said, I read this. I'm not going to tell your mother. Let's not do this anymore. I'm like, write down my feelings. And so I didn't. I never wrote down my feelings ever again.
Mickey O'Malley
And now it's all Catholic. And now it's coming. You know, I was. Even though my dad's Jewish, I was confirmed Catholic. My mom's Catholic.
Grace
Oh.
Cyndi Lauper
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
And I had to go to confirmation weekend retreat, and no one would talk to me.
Grace
Really? Because. Because you were from a different school.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, no one knew me.
Grace
Well, that's not fair.
Mickey O'Malley
Isn't that horrible?
Grace
That's really terrible. And so did you. You didn't make any friends?
Mickey O'Malley
No, they weren't interested. I think maybe, like, there was. There was, like, a couple girls who talked to me, but it was very clicky.
Grace
What the hell is a retreat for Catholicism?
Mickey O'Malley
It was like a. You know. You do the confirmation classes?
Grace
Yeah, yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
And then at the end, they're like, they make you on this weekend retreat.
Grace
I'm like, no, God wasn't. You weren't able to opt out?
Mickey O'Malley
I guess not.
Grace
That's unfortunate.
Mickey O'Malley
My mom. My. My mom's very big on, like, participation. And so you're just, like, fully looking.
Grace
Out the window, writing your first set.
Mickey O'Malley
Exactly. Wait, so drinking in a closet in seventh grade, what was going on?
Grace
Oh, I just. I just wanted to feel something, you know?
Mickey O'Malley
Did you?
Grace
Yeah. I felt alive and cool.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. Drinking rocks.
Grace
Yeah, it's really awesome. Did you. Have you ever read anyone's diary?
Mickey O'Malley
No, I was.
Grace
No, because that's sacred. No one should do that.
Mickey O'Malley
I agree to secret, but I will say early days, the pandemic. My boyfriend and I had been together, like, less than a year, but we were like, we're gonna, like, do this together, I guess. And he'd left like this notebook open and when I walked by, I saw my name and so I was like, what'd you write about me? And then it literally was something like, I love Catherine.
Grace
Oh, well, you have to check.
Mickey O'Malley
And he was like, you dumb bitch.
Grace
So you have to go in and check. Because God forbid he was writing like.
Mickey O'Malley
I don't want to be. I don't want to be living with her during this or whatever. Like, I was scared.
Grace
Or like a. Just a goodbye letter. You could have just over Toodaloo. Good luck with everything. Things. Sorry about the pandemic of it all.
Mickey O'Malley
No, but I always feel it's just not. It's not for me to know what people think about you is none of your business. I'm like, okay, but all of my business? Yeah. I'm like, well, it's sent to me constantly on my phone.
Grace
Everything I read, all the time.
Mickey O'Malley
How do you deal?
Grace
I. I try not to read all of my dms. That's where people really. Because they like to hide.
Mickey O'Malley
Is that where they go?
Grace
That's where they go. Mean.
Mickey O'Malley
God.
Grace
But I won't restrict any comments. You restrict comments?
Mickey O'Malley
I don't restrict comments because I. It does. I'm like, you're helping my views.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
But people will say the craziest, you know when a video ends up on the wrong side of whatever. Oh, yeah, there's the incel. The incels come out.
Grace
Oh, those are bad. Those are bad.
Mickey O'Malley
It makes me just feel sad for them. I'm just like, what is this? Did you watch Adolescence?
Grace
Remind me you didn't. What? I didn't. Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
You guys should watch it. It's so intense. It's devastating. It's this new Netflix series about. I'm not spoiling. Because this is like the premise about. Yes. Young teen boy who's accused of killing a classmate. That's not a spoiler. Right. And. But it follows like, oh, I did.
Grace
I know this.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. You know what's he doing in his room on his computer? Like, what's happening to the young men in this country? Yeah, well, in every country. But it's. Yeah. Not to get so dark. But it's just spooky.
Grace
Yeah. It's really scary because it's too on the nose.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. It's just scary because I'm like, I will. I'll get it. Like all these evil comments on clips or whatever. Then when I click the profile, I'm like, that's like a 14 year old boy. I'm like, what is going on with this poor kid? Like, what is happening?
Grace
My favorite is when it's the happily married guy with a newborn kid.
Mickey O'Malley
Horrible.
Grace
I'm like, oh, wow. That daughter is fucked.
Mickey O'Malley
I know. So it's not. Yeah. Those kind of comments don't bug me as much, but they do. Like, it's paper cuts. It's like over and over again. It's Taylor Swift, death by a thousand cuts.
Grace
Yes, of course.
Mickey O'Malley
So eventually you're like, okay, I know I don't take this personally, but. But when you open your phone and you see just, like, a deluge of, like, evil comments about your body or whatever, I'm like, well, this obviously makes me feel bad.
Grace
Yeah, no, of course. Have you ever. Have you ever found an account and sent it to someone?
Mickey O'Malley
What do you mean?
Grace
Like, someone that they are close to by chance.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, you mean. No, no. What do you mean?
Grace
I once found, like, a. Like, a kid my age. He had a girlfriend. So I sent what he said to me to the girlfriend.
Mickey O'Malley
That's amazing.
Grace
But he also had linked on there, both his mother and his grandmother. And so I sent both of those. I found the grandmother's Facebook, sent it to her.
Mickey O'Malley
That's amazing.
Grace
And they ended up calling my. My workplace and asking to get it taken down, because then I made a video about it.
Mickey O'Malley
Good for you.
Grace
That I. I ended up obliging to take it down. And I wish I didn't, you know, because sometimes you just. You deserve to have that moment of you, pal.
Mickey O'Malley
Fuck you, pal. But also some. Yeah, Sometimes it's like, it's not worth the fight. It's like, okay, I'll take it. Lesson learned. I'll take it down.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
But it does. Yeah, it's hard out there.
Grace
At least his family knows that. I. And what I said was, like, really funny. I'm like, I know you didn't raise your sweet baby Josh to be, of course, like, whatever his name was, to be such a terrible, awful person in society. And may I remind you, I have no idea who this young man is, but you do.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, wow.
Grace
Like, something like that. And I was like, yeah, I feel good about that.
Mickey O'Malley
That's beautiful.
Grace
I felt great. Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I think for us, it's just like, okay, you're just giving me more views. Thank you.
Grace
Yeah, true.
Mickey O'Malley
Thank you. I love you. You. Thank you. All the haters to pivot.
Grace
Do you have a writer on tour?
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, no. Just like water.
Grace
Oh, wow. You don't have to make anything up.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm not. I'm trying to think what I would put in it if I were to like, maybe for my next tour.
Grace
Let's do. Yeah, let's think of your next tour.
Mickey O'Malley
Dream writer. Room temperature, water, Evian, ice cold, Diet Coke or Coke Zero. I pivot. It's hard to pick. Which one do you prefer?
Grace
You go. Oh, you go back and forth.
Mickey O'Malley
It depends on the day.
Grace
I don't really know the difference. I don't think I've ever had a Coke Zero.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, it's so good.
Grace
Really. Okay. It's okay. I had a feeling that was going to make you malfunction.
Mickey O'Malley
The Benadryl. You have to try it.
Grace
It's really good.
Mickey O'Malley
And then you know what I would love like a turkey. Like a turkey club sandwich, fries, ketchup, mayo. What about you?
Grace
I, I, I have a rider that is old from dry January.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh God.
Grace
So I need to fix it because it's been many months now and I did he it, I, I did, I tried for two months, I mean two weeks. And so now I, I have a non alcoholic Corona is waiting for me.
Mickey O'Malley
And can't imagine anything worse.
Grace
And water in either a bottle or a can because one time I said to my manager that it feels like drinking, but I'm not. It's water but the illusion. And she liked that because she thinks I might teach her on a problem.
Mickey O'Malley
Sure, yeah, we'll figure out together.
Grace
We'll go together with that. Moving right along. And your song, I like men.
Mickey O'Malley
I do.
Grace
You sound embarrassed to be attracted to them. Can you elaborate on that mindset? Sure.
Mickey O'Malley
I think the idea for the song too was like noticing all the weird things men do that like make you horny for no reason. Like when they have their hand on the steering wheel and they're like this. It's like, yeah, yeah. Or what was the other one when I texted my friend, my best friend Amy, shout out.
Grace
Oh, this is actually another segment. We have. Any shout outs you have, please look right into the camera. Give a shout out to anyone you want to.
Mickey O'Malley
Jeannie Solomon, I love you. You're such a good friend.
Grace
Any other shout outs?
Mickey O'Malley
My family, God, goddess, my spirit guides, love and light.
Grace
Wonderful, wonderful.
Mickey O'Malley
But yeah, we were just trying to think of like, like when guys open a jar, like, why is that so hot? When, like the fact that my boyfriend doesn't know how to like use Google Calendar. Like, I find that like hot for some. Like, I don't know why.
Grace
Oh, being in disarray is sexy.
Mickey O'Malley
I think it's sort of just like, like. Well, the joke in the song is like, well, he's not cheating on you because he doesn't even know where he's going. Oh, goodness. You know what I mean?
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
But, yeah, just all those little quirky things that even though men can be bad and disgusting, I'm just like, love you guys. Yeah, love you guys.
Grace
It's a great segue to our next game. It's called Men on Trial.
Mickey O'Malley
All right, who's on trial?
Grace
Because you wrote I like men? I have a new segment for us. In this segment, I will be putting men on trial, and you get to decide if they should be pardoned or sentenced to disgrace. All right, up first, we have. So what we need you to decide is either innocent, disgraced, or a life sentence.
Mickey O'Malley
Cool.
Grace
All right.
Mickey O'Malley
Disgrace means, like, not in jail, but it's like, everyone knows.
Grace
Yes, yes, yes. Like a scarlet letter.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, God.
Grace
The man who brings his acoustic guitar to parties.
Mickey O'Malley
In a sense. Let them. I say I sell. I say Mel Robbins. Let them. For everyone. I'm like, let them kill me. Let them choke me out.
Grace
I don't know if that's what Mel Robbins meant.
Mickey O'Malley
That's what she meant.
Grace
Allegedly the one straight theater man that dates every girl in the cast.
Mickey O'Malley
Disgrace. Although I have to say that I didn't know him then, but when I. Before I was introduced to my boyfriend, my friend goes, he's my one straight friend from theater camp. Do you want to meet him?
Grace
No way.
Mickey O'Malley
And now here I am, locked and loaded.
Grace
You want to take that back? Back?
Mickey O'Malley
No.
Grace
All right. She stands.
Mickey O'Malley
Make him carry.
Grace
She stands by that sentence. Stand by her, man.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, I do love you.
Grace
The man who has his mom book his doctor's appointments at 28.
Mickey O'Malley
Jail, life sentence.
Grace
Yeah. The man who forgets your first anniversary.
Mickey O'Malley
I don't care. It's like, okay, well, what. What is an anniversary? Like, wedding anniversary. That would be crazy.
Grace
I would say. I would say let's go with dating.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, but that's always the thing. We're like, is it the first date? Is it the first kiss?
Grace
Is it the first time we had sex?
Mickey O'Malley
Is it when we define the relationship?
Grace
It's when I say it is.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. It's when I decide to be mad at you.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
It's when I want to. It's when I want to pick a fight. That's what it was.
Grace
Oh, you missed my birthday. Yeah, no, I didn't. Like. Yes, you did. A man who actually wears a fedora out to the bar.
Mickey O'Malley
It's over.
Grace
The man who comments under attractive celebrities and models Instagram posts in a Serious manner jail.
Mickey O'Malley
It's like, like I'm sorry but like why haven't these men learned people and people I'm close to. I see, I see you guys. I see you. And it's, it's not even that I think it's gross. It's more like what do you think's going to happen? Do you think Zendaya is going to be like let's go out on a date.
Grace
Yeah, I, I, I also, I see boys from my, from where I grew up. They'll comment under rappers posts.
Mickey O'Malley
Saying what?
Grace
Just being like you, you go get them G. That, that I actually support.
Mickey O'Malley
It's like they're being a fan.
Grace
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I find it embarrassing.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I guess the only people I'm trying to think of who do you know? The only people I comment on that I don't know personally is I will. No, but shout out if there's someone from a, if there's a Love island contestant, I'm like love you queen.
Grace
Oh, cuz they need it. They're getting ripped apart, you know.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, I'll be. I'm all over Ekinsu's posts being like shout out girl.
Grace
What about a man who complains about work because, because it's, it was a hard day.
Mickey O'Malley
I mean that feels like a cartoon from the 50s.
Grace
Honey, I'm home. Better light my cigarettes.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I'd make him an apple pie and open my legs. That's his punishment. Sex with me.
Grace
That's what I was made for. And then the man who calls women females.
Mickey O'Malley
That's so scary. Hospital. Yeah, the fourth option.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
He has to go to the hospital to get examined.
Grace
Yeah. Because there's something wrong.
Mickey O'Malley
Female nails.
Grace
If you could describe your sense of humor in three words, what would it. What would they be? Yes, yes.
Mickey O'Malley
And ooh la la la. What would you say?
Grace
I, I would Self deprecating humor.
Mickey O'Malley
That's great.
Grace
Yeah, I guess people don't love that. Do you have.
Mickey O'Malley
That's every. That's the basis of everything. Funny.
Grace
I know it says I have a lot of people saying she shouldn't be so hard on herself. It doesn't matter. Do you have any unfinished lyrics on herself or ideas rotting in your notes app that you'd be willing to grace us with?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, well, I've always wanted to. Well, it's funny before the. Now my new show is about like the stroke and you know, my relationship with being a hypochondriac and doctors and whatever. But years ago I kept, there was two songs I kept Trying to make happen. One was I need a friend who is a doctor. Oh, yeah, I really do, because I want to be able to call. I want to be able to text. And I actually do have a friend who's. Who's. I think he's just. He just became a doctor. He's a psychiatrist. I was thinking more like a surgeon, but we'll figure out. Figured out. I still asked him about some medications I was taking. And, like, can I mix?
Grace
They know, like, the premises.
Mickey O'Malley
Exactly, the premises. The log lines. You know, on the pilot app of the mad. And my other one. This one really doesn't make sense. I was trying to do a song called I'm sorry. I brought pepperoni to your dinner party, and I was thinking, like, when you buy, like, you're not gonna bring a whole meat and cheese plate. So I just bought, like, this stick of, like, pepperoni. It was like, that is a horrible thing to walk in with.
Grace
Like, you've done that.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I was like, hey, here's like, a big stick of pepperoni.
Grace
See, you're hanging out in Europe too much. That is. That seems like a very European thing to do.
Mickey O'Malley
It. What would you bring to a party?
Grace
A 30 rack, I think, which is 30. 30 beers.
Mickey O'Malley
I know. I was like, hold on. What?
Grace
Yeah, I know. It's a. It's a non compute. We're. We're more alike than you think.
Mickey O'Malley
I feel it. I would love a third Russian beers. I. I've been known to shotgun a beer.
Grace
Ooh.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm not above it.
Grace
What?
Mickey O'Malley
Have you ever done a keg stand?
Grace
I have.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
It took a lot of guts for me to ask someone to hold me up.
Mickey O'Malley
Of course. Same.
Grace
Yeah. That was really. That was the scariest part.
Mickey O'Malley
I wasn't worried about the drinking was.
Grace
More like my belly showing. I started tuck my pants in like a nerd, and that's awesome. Yeah. But nerds can do keg stands.
Mickey O'Malley
Nerds can do anything.
Grace
Thank you so much for sharing your. Your truth. Your truth and your songs that I think you should still follow to through.
Mickey O'Malley
With maybe the doctor one.
Grace
The doctor one's good.
Mickey O'Malley
I need a friend who is a doctor. Yeah. I don't know. I really need an opening song for my new show, and that's a lot of pressure and I don't know. But to be fair, I also haven't tried to think of it.
Grace
So it could. It could even be as simple as, like. Like a. A children's jingle.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
Where it's really catchy and it's just your Name.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, that's fun. I should get the Wiggles involved.
Grace
Yeah, I'm kind of locked in on that. I've also. People have been talking about Ms. Rachel a lot lately. Lately?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah.
Grace
Are you familiar with her work?
Mickey O'Malley
I've heard about that, yeah. Do your friends have kids?
Grace
No.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, good.
Grace
No. Yeah. What about you?
Mickey O'Malley
Like, two. I would say a few of. Well, because I'm from Texas. My friends from home, like, they all have full family's kids in college, basically. Not quite, but Chapel has a lot.
Grace
To say about that.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, exactly. But now. Now some of my, like, cool New York friends are starting, like, wait, wait, wait.
Grace
And so, like, what's their plan?
Mickey O'Malley
I know. Literally.
Grace
Are you gonna stay? Are you gonna go?
Mickey O'Malley
Go so far, I think stay.
Grace
Okay, good.
Mickey O'Malley
But it's scary to watch. And it's scary to watch someone. They're like, no, it's actually amazing. I'm like, are you sure?
Grace
Yeah. I mean, something changes. Something has changed within you.
Mickey O'Malley
Something is not the same.
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
I'm through with playing by.
Grace
Yeah. The rules of someone else's game and that's just what it is when it comes to children they try to trick you.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. I don't know. We'll see. I froze my eggs.
Grace
You did.
Mickey O'Malley
My girls are on ice.
Grace
Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
So I can revisit down the line.
Grace
My girls are on ice. That's really funny. That's really funny.
Mickey O'Malley
Hanging out in midtown. All right, so we'll see.
Grace
That goes for a brick ton of a cost, right?
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. And guess what? Credit card. Oh, why do they let you pay.
Grace
With a credit card, if you will?
Mickey O'Malley
I basically clarinet my kids.
Grace
You could clone your children.
Mickey O'Malley
I cloned the kids. New reboot.
Grace
Honey, the kids are frozen.
Mickey O'Malley
It's crazy. But, yeah. We'll see. Do you want kids?
Grace
I don't know.
Mickey O'Malley
How old are you?
Grace
I'm 26, if you ask.
Mickey O'Malley
So young. What do you mean, if I ask?
Grace
I know. I just. If anyone else. That's the. That's the real age.
Mickey O'Malley
That's amazing.
Grace
I thought I was 25, and then last week I thought I was 27, but I'm 26.
Mickey O'Malley
When's your birthday?
Grace
October, love.
Mickey O'Malley
Best month.
Grace
Yeah. What about you?
Mickey O'Malley
August.
Grace
August.
Mickey O'Malley
October. Makes you scorp or what?
Grace
That's scorp.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, love.
Grace
We got a scorp going on, you know?
Mickey O'Malley
My best friend's a scorp.
Grace
No.
Mickey O'Malley
Pat.
Grace
Pat.
Mickey O'Malley
Pat Regan.
Grace
Oh, no way.
Mickey O'Malley
He's born on Halloween. Proper. O my freaky little friend.
Grace
Spicy kitty cat. Which doctor? So you've said that Your love language is gift giving.
Mickey O'Malley
Isn't that. Well, receiving.
Grace
Receiving.
Mickey O'Malley
I do love giving too.
Grace
Yes. And so for this segment, we asked the live studio audience.
Mickey O'Malley
Totally.
Grace
Yeah, listen, they're loving this. To submit the best or worst gifts they've ever been given or received. And we'd love to see your reaction.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, fun.
Grace
Okay, so up next we have. My stepmom thought it would be a great idea to give my biological mother a toilet to. Seat.
Mickey O'Malley
No, a toilet seat.
Grace
I once broke a toilet seat.
Mickey O'Malley
Did you?
Grace
Yeah, I was playing in my. At my grandfather's house and we were playing in the neighbor's yard, and then I. We weren't allowed to go inside, but I was like, I really have to go to the bathroom. And they were very adamant about nobody inside. But I went inside to go to the bathroom and I broke the toilet seat.
Mickey O'Malley
Just like that.
Grace
Because I was. I think I stood on top of the toilet to see if I could look out the window. Window.
Mickey O'Malley
And I broke it. That's so fun.
Grace
So I think I would.
Mickey O'Malley
You're so playful.
Grace
Yeah, you know, you. You give. You. You'd have to. If you broke it, you buy it.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah, that's not a gift.
Grace
That's like the only kind of gift giving I would give if it were toilet seats.
Mickey O'Malley
Right.
Grace
My gram gave me an appointment to get blood taken for a weight loss medication.
Mickey O'Malley
An appointment. Okay.
Grace
She gave you an appointment.
Mickey O'Malley
I don't like that. That's your decision. That's your decision. Not. Not Graham's.
Grace
I think she should have booked a different appointment because you. Sounds like your brain's not working. Yeah, I don't know if gift.
Mickey O'Malley
Excuse me. I need a brain appointment. I actually have had many of those.
Grace
Yeah. Brain appointment. Cuz you've got the whole. You're out here stroking.
Mickey O'Malley
It's really crazy. They do a scan of your brain and there's just like a little dot and they're like. Yeah, that's like where your. That part's dead. What? That's the stroke. But it. Dot. There's parts of your brain you don't use. I mean, not me. I use all of it.
Grace
Yeah, of course.
Mickey O'Malley
No, they're like, that's okay. It's like a part you don't need. I'm like, that's what you think? I'm like, what about my magnum opus? Yes, I might need that part.
Grace
And do you have a definition for that?
Mickey O'Malley
What?
Grace
I don't know what? Megan? Opus.
Mickey O'Malley
Like my great. My great work.
Grace
Oh, yes. Okay.
Mickey O'Malley
Like my novel, my whatever. My song. My show.
Grace
This is. Oh, wow. That's what makes you good. Oh, wow. Great, even. Oh, a taxidermy squirrel Beer koozie.
Mickey O'Malley
What?
Grace
That's not good.
Mickey O'Malley
That's kind of cool. That's cool.
Grace
Taxidermy is for free.
Mickey O'Malley
Oh, shit. I should. The gift I brought you, I should have. Can we get that? Guys, don't bring that in. I brought a big head for your wall. Guys, Guys, don't bring that in.
Grace
I would. Oh, my God. I don't know what I would do with that.
Mickey O'Malley
You know, if I worked here, I would. All I would do every day when I saw this is. I'm not crazy. I'm just a little unwell right now. You can't tell. Do you know that song?
Grace
Yeah.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. Soon enough you're gonna think of me.
Grace
Adautry hell.
Mickey O'Malley
I use matchbox 20.
Grace
I'm sorry to be.
Mickey O'Malley
It's okay. I'm 100 years old compared to you.
Grace
No, no, no. We're very similar in age. It's just. I don't get your references.
Mickey O'Malley
No, you're just out of touch.
Grace
What about a Jesus clock? It had the twelve apostles on it for each number.
Mickey O'Malley
That's tough.
Grace
That's tough. And then for my 16th birthday, my friends got me a box of condoms and a Van Halen cd. That rocks. That fucks. I think that fucks big time. I think he fucks. Obviously. Or she. Sorry, my apologies.
Mickey O'Malley
What's sexier than a big rubber box of condoms? I can smell it from here.
Grace
I was with some of my guy friends the other day, and I had to pop into CVS to get some tampons. And when I. And I. I was like, you guys just go to the bar. I'll be. I'll be right with you. And they're like, no, we'll wait for you. Like, you don't have to. And they're like. And then I started getting weird about it. I'm like, I'm a grown woman. I'm just gonna go in the store. And then when I came out, they were like, you good? And I was like, yeah, just. I got condoms. Like, oh, good. And I'm like, I don't know why I lied to you guys. I was. I went in and I got tampons. I'm so sorry.
Mickey O'Malley
I want you 26 years old.
Grace
They're like, oh, well, good for you, Gracie.
Mickey O'Malley
I was like, keeping it safe.
Grace
When is the last time you guys have known me to fuck? And they're like, I don't know. I thought you were trying to open up your horizons to be on the safer side of things.
Mickey O'Malley
Yeah. Maybe love is in the air for you this spring.
Grace
Maybe I. I smell it. Or maybe that's just my sweatshirt.
Mickey O'Malley
It does smell amazing.
