Demi Engeman
am Demi Engeman and I am sometimes disgraceful.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You are now tuning in to disgraceful. Welcome back. Now, I just want to say a couple things. At the top, what I was doing before was just having comics on. Yeah, that wasn't really working. Time to pivot. And so what we're gonna do is we're gonna start having on, you know, all different walks of life today, a Mormon housewife known for mom talk and also the hit show the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. And now this is a hit show. It happened all very fast. All those girls, they're all, they're all on Broadway. They're doing the Bachelorette and some of them are seen as the villain and some of them didn't really have a platform on season four. I met Demi on a show that we did for Unwell. It hasn't came out yet. As far as I'm concerned that this episode is coming out for now and I don't know when it's airing, but when it does, it'll make sense why we had met each other before. And I just want to kind of start off by saying I wasn't going to bring up the fact that I've never watched the show, but pretty much in the first 10 minutes, I was like, yeah, I don't know what any of this means. I had 48 hours to prep for this, this interview. And so I was able to watch some of the first season and some of the fourth season, but everything in between, I am at an absolute loss. So. So she's bringing up things that very clearly when I was watching the Fourth season, I was like, what? Why? What is hat? Why is everyone mad? And so I don't know. I don't know this, that, the other thing. And that's very apparent in this episode. But I don't know. It was a good chat. Great chat. I think I will say we did get the exclusive on some of the things that were never mentioned, so tune in for that. And one more thing before I go. I'm on tour. I'm on tour and I'm coming to a city near you, maybe. So let's. Let's see where we're off to this weekend. I am gonna be in Baltimore, Maryland, March 19th to the 21st. And then up next, it's Las Vegas, Nevada, March 27th to the 28th. April 17th to the 18th, I'll be in Nashville, Tennessee, for Nashville Comedy festival. And then April 19th, I'll be in Huntsville, Alabama. After that, we're heading on over to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, April 23rd to the 25th. And then April 30th to May 2nd, I'll be in Louisville, Kentucky, and wrapping up right back in Oklahoma. Gonna be in Tulsa May 15th to the 16th. And if you want to get tickets to that, you can go to grace o'malleycomedy.com Also, we drop merch. One person bought it. Let's have some fun. And check that out. It's on the Unwell website under the podcast Disgraceful. It's a sweatshirt that says something along the lines of disgraceful is a podcast. And it doesn't know if it wants to be a podcast or a talk show. And I like it. So I bought this T shirt or hoodie or crew neck or whatever the hell we ended up on. So, yeah, lots of things to check out and enjoy the show. Have you ever jumped out of an airplane?
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I want to start there. Have you ever jumped out of an airplane?
Demi Engeman
No, but I want to.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Actually.
Demi Engeman
I don't know if I want to. I wanted to for the longest time, and then now I don't know. I think it's having a kid.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. You have too much to lose. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
When you have stuff to lose, it's like, wait, I actually gotta live now. You know, Like, I've been to the many times
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I can die at any time. No one's gonna give a, hey, I'm having a day.
Demi Engeman
I'll give a shit. Don't die. Do not die.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I think. I think we should just jump right into it. What do you think? I love it.
Demi Engeman
I felt. I thought we were going, I'll Be honest.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
All right, well, we'll start with me wanting to kill myself. Welcome in. How are you?
Demi Engeman
Welcome.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
We do things a little different. Thanks for coming here.
Demi Engeman
Of course.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
First, to start off, I thought maybe it would be cool if you could potentially maybe explain to two things as if an alien had just landed on Earth.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So let's start with Mormonism.
Demi Engeman
Oh, that's a good one.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Because, I mean, I'm just kind of finding out. I was in Salt Lake City twice in two weeks.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Just recently. And I learned a lot in a short amount of time.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, there's. There's a lot. There's a lot of history. There's a lot to unpack there. I actually just watched a movie with Emma Stone about aliens. Have you seen the new one?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, Begonia.
Demi Engeman
Yes.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Wasn't that gnarly?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It was fucking awesome.
Demi Engeman
I loved it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I loved it.
Demi Engeman
Plot twist of the century.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
People hated the end. I loved it.
Demi Engeman
Oh, I loved it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I thought it was great.
Demi Engeman
I don't know why I almost cried. I was like, wait, is this how it is? Like, yeah. I was blown away.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm picturing some people that I know watching that and be like, I don't get it.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. Oh, I was speaking the language. I was like, yeah, I'm in this for sure. So an alien lands on Earth and they want to know about Mormonism?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes, please.
Demi Engeman
Oh, man. Okay. You're the alien. Perfect. There's so much to unpack here. This is a lot.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Could you. Could you maybe narrow it down to the basics?
Demi Engeman
Yeah, yeah. So basically there was a young boy named Joseph Smith who starts with a young boy. Yeah. Yes, yes. Joseph Smith. Well, it all ties back to Jesus Christ. Actually, people don't know that. That we are a Christian based religion. It's based around Jesus Christ.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
So a lot of people think that it's just Joseph Smith and all the history and all the nuances of Mormonism. Jesus Christ kind of got lost in translation, but it really does center around Jesus Christ and his life on Earth. But there was a boy, young boy named Joseph Smith, who. You've heard of the Book of Mormon, Obviously you've got the Broadway play here.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I gotta see that.
Demi Engeman
I've never seen it. Should we go?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I would say it's a classic. Are you still practicing the Mormon stuff?
Demi Engeman
I am. I would say I'm definitely more progressive and loose. Like the culture of it, like the weird cultural things that a lot of people have heard about. That to me, is where I. You kind of lose me and so for me, I'm like, I'm focused on Jesus Christ and being a kind person and just progressing and trying to be the best version of myself that I can be and having a relationship with God. Like, I would say I'm more spiritual than religious.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Gotcha.
Demi Engeman
Okay, that makes sense.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So the Book of Mormon, I'm pretty sure they're making fun of you guys. I. I think.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, that's funny, you guys.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So I just wanted to give you the fair warning. Go and see the play. Thank you. Yeah, I just want to give the heads up.
Demi Engeman
I'm in a much better place. Yeah. I'm in a much better place to see it now. Growing up, everyone would warn us. They'd be like, don't go see it. It's a mockery. They're making fun of the religion. Yes. And now I feel like people are a little bit more open, and it's like, oh, we can kind of laugh at ourselves.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Which I feel like the show does a really good job at because we're like, that's freaking weird.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Like, this cultural aspect of the church. That's odd.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
And it's created a lot of oddities. Let's change that. Why not? You know, because it's like, so much of religion is made up anyway, so let's make. Let's be progressive. Let's figure out the things that aren't working, and let's help move the needle.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
And that's one thing that I do appreciate about the show. I had someone come up to me, and they were like. I brought up to someone Mormons, and they were like, oh, like polygamists. And they were like, no, have you seen Secret Lives of Mormon Wives? And they were like, oh, that's Mormon. Like, she was like, the church could have never paid you enough to do that kind of PR for that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. And you guys are really good at boots on the ground PR. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Oh, 100%.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You get sent overseas and whatnot. Thank you for your service. Absolutely.
Demi Engeman
Thank you for your service.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, I guess that's the other thing I was gonna have you explain. Like a. Like a dumb, dumb alien is mom talk. How would you. How would you explain this?
Demi Engeman
So from the jump, it was really just a bunch of moms surviving motherhood getting together, creating content. A lot of us were solely providing for our families, which this alien could
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
learn in the first five minutes of the show.
Demi Engeman
100%.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes.
Demi Engeman
Yes, yes. It gets more complicated as you go, as you guys have seen, but, you know, that's relationships. It's Nuanced. There's drama, there's fallouts, there's fights and all of that. But really, what mom talk started out as was a community of women and moms who were in the thick of motherhood and trying to survive and also provide for their families getting together and just creating a platform that, you know, was loud and brought in views so that we could boost the content that we were posting.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's kind of like a book club, but you dance. It's a dance dance club for online.
Demi Engeman
That is the best.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
The online dance club for lady mothers. That is the best. Did you say yes?
Demi Engeman
Absolutely, yes. I hope that I've never been a part of a book club. Have you?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I can't read. I deadass don't know how I can read at my home page. I don't like reading in public. Cause you can see how long it takes me to turn the page. My sister calls me out on it. It's brutal. It's bad stuff. But I like the idea that some people have book clubs. Like, my aunt has a book club, but they don't actually read the book. They just go out and they drink. It's just like an excuse to see buddies.
Demi Engeman
Okay, this is good to know because I legitimately thought I was missing out on some novelty.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, no, I'm sure you are.
Demi Engeman
There's, like.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
There's some women who are reading some really, like, riveting books that, like, is helping them share experiences through womanhood. But not I. Not me. Not you. No. Thanks. I mean, it sounds nice. Maybe when I turn bigger, maybe that's what will happen. Yeah. One day. I love it. Do you think when you get turned bigger, you're gonna do book. The book Mormon? Yeah, the book Mormon.
Demi Engeman
Yes. One day. I actually haven't read that all the way through on my own.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, because it is a book. Yes.
Demi Engeman
It's an actual book.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, no, you call it the book
Demi Engeman
the Book of Mormon.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
The Book of Mormon? That's really what it's called?
Demi Engeman
Absolutely.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes. Totally. Just thought it was a play.
Demi Engeman
No, no, it's an actual book. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay, gotcha.
Demi Engeman
Like the Bible. This is like, actually the Bible and the Book of Mormon kind of go hand in hand.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. Some would really disagree.
Demi Engeman
100%. Yes. But they do. Like, we study the Bible as well.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Okay. So you guys got a lot of work to do.
Demi Engeman
We do.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
We.
Demi Engeman
We have a lot. There's a lot of reading, so don't ever join.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You're in there. Highlight, and then shit. The two different comparing stories. Comparing Notes. Exactly.
Demi Engeman
Making sure everything lines up, matching. We're like, hold on. Bible, got it wrong here. Got it right here.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That was my former book. And if you were to ask me when I was a little kiddo, I would have said, that's all correct. Everything in there is accurate truth. I've never read it.
Demi Engeman
Never read the Bible? No, of course not. You don't read. Yeah. You don't read.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So when do you find the time to do both? I don't.
Demi Engeman
I personally don't. That's why, like, if you're sitting here asking me, like, are you a devotee, devout member of the church?
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Do you.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Are you a devout member of the church?
Demi Engeman
I would say probably not, because I don't put in the work like some people do. Like, some people are like, I'm going to the temple every week. I read the Scriptures every single night. I. You know, I pray morning and night. And I have a very strong relationship with God. And I would say that I'm very in tune spiritually, and I lead my family through love, forgiveness, sacrifice.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Amen.
Demi Engeman
That's the extent, really. And I. I hope to deepen that when I get bigger. I hope to.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You know, I like the saying, I think we should do this more. When we get bigger. I'm gonna wait till I get bigger, though. You start using that. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
We're all just getting bigger.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
How big are you? I'm not very big yet.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm huge.
Demi Engeman
But you hope to be even huger?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No.
Demi Engeman
Yes.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What do you mean by this? Huger.
Demi Engeman
Bigger.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes. Yeah. I feel like we got somewhere with that.
Demi Engeman
I feel like we just did something, I think.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. I mean, I think it's gonna be big. Yeah. So, okay. We got a little derailed mom talk.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's not a book club.
Demi Engeman
No. It's not even close. Not even close. No one's read a book in that
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
club, so I don't know who told me this, but I heard that it is very serious work. What goes on.
Demi Engeman
It is.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
There's spreadsheets involved.
Demi Engeman
100%.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I don't know who said that.
Demi Engeman
Especially the Type A members like Whitney, Michaela by name.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You're doing.
Demi Engeman
Oh, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. They deserve Type A. Oh, yeah.
Demi Engeman
They deserve the credit.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's a good quality.
Demi Engeman
Oh, a hundred percent.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Are you A or B? B. I am Z. Oh, yeah.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
I didn't know that was an option then. Yeah. I'm definitely more on the Z. The Z train.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Do you have a physical ID on your person?
Demi Engeman
Only because my publicist Told me to bring one.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Slay Boo's house.
Demi Engeman
I don't even drive with an ID.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay?
Demi Engeman
They can look you up 100% and they do.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So that's the Z for me.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. How'd you fly to Utah?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, I have a real id. That's my permit. You can get your permit to be your real id.
Demi Engeman
So you don't have your id. You don't have a driver's license.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
But I have a permit with a star on it to know I'm real.
Demi Engeman
You don't drive.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I don't drive. We don't have to here.
Demi Engeman
Are you joking?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm not pulling your leg.
Demi Engeman
Wait, this is incredible because you can't drive too. Like you can't read, you can't drive type thing. Or like you don't want to drive.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
There's classes for me where they had to separate me. You know what I'm saying?
Demi Engeman
Like, into the special class.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You said it. You said it.
Demi Engeman
Oh, I was in a couple of those.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, they just made up names for classes. Aim, that was math. I don't know what that. I don't know what we were aiming for. Oh, yeah. I don't know. They just, like, made up names and they were like, yeah, let's call this math now. I'm kidding. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Demi Engeman
This is amazing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You're amazing.
Demi Engeman
No, I love this so much. You're so successful and so, like, you've done so much on not being able to read and not being able to drive.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Thank you so much. You know, let's backtrack a little bit. I do know how to read. I'm trying to get booked on roles. So let's like. Let's fucking reel it in a little bit.
Demi Engeman
You could have your sister there, though, like, feeding you the lines.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And then we do kind of. They're not supposed to know that. You're supposed to be able to memorize and read. Oh, it's like the first two qualities of acting. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
No, no, no. You don't need that. You don't.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No. But enough about me mom talk. It's. It's important. I mean. I mean, it's. I almost said it's important. It's. There. There is a lot more structure than people think. It's not willy nilly.
Demi Engeman
No, for sure.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's Whitney.
Demi Engeman
They are planned out. Content days.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes.
Demi Engeman
It's serious.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You guys sit down. Like a board meeting or something? No. Are you still fucking with them? What's going on?
Demi Engeman
I mean, yeah, some of them, for sure.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Because they really made you out to be a villain here.
Demi Engeman
They did, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Are you a villain?
Demi Engeman
No, I don't think so.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I just want to get this out of the way. So you're the only one who's not an executive producer on the show.
Demi Engeman
That's true.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I don't want to point that out, like, for, like, a bad reason. I just want to say that it. In the storyline, you could kind of see where that is because you had no say in the way you were portrayed. Yeah, yeah, right. I'm just saying that's what the people are saying.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You know, I had two days to play catch up. That's a lot of mom talk. Yeah, that's a lot of mom talk. Season just dropped, so did you catch
Demi Engeman
up on all of the seasons?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Baby girl, I had to breathe and eat lunch. I didn't have time. If I'm gonna be completely honest with you. I didn't. Four seasons. How am I gonna do it?
Demi Engeman
No, no, no.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I tried my very best. I met you when we did. We did a thing. I don't know when it's coming out. Who's to say? But we did a thing together. Yeah. And that's how we know each other and.
Demi Engeman
Which was so fun.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Out of respect, I didn't want to watch. I don't want to watch people's shows when I'm with, like. If they're, like, down the hall from me. Yeah. That's staying in a hotel room. Because I started to watch it, I was like, I'd like to get to know this show because there was. There was two. Two of you.
Demi Engeman
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Two of you on the show. And. And so I was like, I want to watch the show so I could get, like, a little, like, a little background. It's like a cheat sheet. Like, it's so funny. You don't have a show you could watch of me.
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
To see my Life.
Demi Engeman
But it was like, Cheat Sheet does showcase you, though. So I feel like that would be similar where you go back and watch a few episodes of your podcast.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's true.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. That's honestly true.
Demi Engeman
But I wouldn't have wanted to do that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
But I didn't see her, like, every day. Like, you know, I mean, that's the nitty gritty.
Demi Engeman
True, true.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And so I went to go watch it, and I was like, oh, it's loud. That'd be so weird if they walked by and they heard me watching this show. And then. And then I was like, you know what? This is fucking weird. And I Just shut it off. And so I've had two days to catch up on everything. And so I've seen season one and season four up to five episodes.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Pretty good for two days.
Demi Engeman
More than me. I haven't even watched season four.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
So where are you in life? That's a loaded question.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay, you. I was surprised to find out that you were. You would sit on this show today because you did not give anything on
Demi Engeman
that show for that season in season four.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No confessionals.
Demi Engeman
Oh, yeah, No, I didn't do any confessionals.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
They made that a big to do.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Have you watched it?
Demi Engeman
No, no.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's actually pretty funny. They go, and what do you think about that? Crickets. No one on the couch. You're kidding me. Hilarious. And then they just wrote that.
Demi Engeman
That is a perfect representation of the season for sure.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. Yeah, yeah. All right.
Demi Engeman
I was probably in my bed crying. Yeah. It wasn't good. It wasn't good. I will say this, and not to get too heavy, but, like, majority of filming, it has happened so fast. Let me just say that, like, everything.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Overnight success.
Demi Engeman
Oh, overnight. Like, it's been so much so quickly, and I don't think I really had time to, like, digest. Also, I have been in the thick of, like, my own healing mental health journey. And so. And that wasn't showcase, like, I came in being like, I'm going to showcase mental health and, like, what it's like to go through that. I've struggled with it my whole life. And, like, I. I mean, I know we were joking about it earlier, but legitimately, like, planned my own death and, like, was planning on killing myself and, like. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was, like, major. So I went through an entire healing journey. Ketamine came to be because I shared that with the women, and I was super passionate about it. But what people don't realize is that when you're going through ketamine treatments, it makes your brain extremely raw. Like, a lot is coming up from your past. A lot of traumas coming up. And I was just in, like, a very raw, vulnerable state. And it really took me going to therapy afterwards of my therapist to be like, you couldn't have been in a worse environment having been in that raw emotional state.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
And, you know, like, I reacted, and I fully own that, but I reacted in a way that I maybe wouldn't have otherwise in a lot of situations. And it just was, you know, it was a lot for me. And so I think for me at that time, it was just, like, honestly, the best Move for me, for my own personal health, for my well being, for my peace insanity. So I wasn't there a lot. Season four. And I did kind of take a step back and I'm so glad that I did. Like, it was exactly what I needed.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Like, sitting here, like, just being able to be my. Myself and just laughing. Like, I haven't done that for years. Like, it really is so refreshing. So thank you. One, for having me on and best medicine. You don't know. It really is. And two, for like, just allowing me to be here and be myself. Because I don't feel like that was showcased, you know, by my own actions and also by just like, that wasn't me.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
At all. And like, also the way I was showcased, like, that's not who I am to my core. So.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And when you. When you say all this and. And thank you for sharing and I don't know how to be serious. I'm gonna be completely honest. I never know what to say in these situations.
Demi Engeman
But you don't need to say thank
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
you for being vulnerable. And I. I see you. I hear you. I. I went to a nut house, but.
Demi Engeman
Oh, you did?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Crippy socks. Loved it. I hated it. Hated it so much I didn't know what I was signing myself up for.
Demi Engeman
No, but good for you.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, I went to go to rehab. It was a big accident. So.
Demi Engeman
Anywho, I love how I'm serious.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's just like, it is what it is. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
No, but that's major.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Again, you.
Demi Engeman
For taking things into your own hands and, like, doing what you needed to do for your don't eh.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Don't eh over there. See, Nora fucking adds her 2 cents. She doesn't even have a microphone. And then I have to explain what Nora just did, and it's like, wicked aggravating because now I was like, oh, yeah. Nora just went eh. Because she agrees with the doctors and I do not.
Demi Engeman
Oh, that's. So it could always be worse.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes. No, I mean, I hear you. And also when you say your actions and all that jazz and it wasn't who you were. Season three is something I didn't get a chance to check out, so.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, that's true.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I don't even know what you're talking about. So if it makes you feel any better, it's not the whole world that knows.
Demi Engeman
So at least you don't honestly think. God, for that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
May I ask.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, I don't even remember, honestly, like, I blocked it out.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. It's. It.
Demi Engeman
It's in the past,

people you have blocked on Instagram?
Demi Engeman
Not very many. Oh, really? Not very many? You'd be surprised.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, dude. Oh, TikTok. You block a lot on TikTok. No, no, no. You just let it ride. Oh, do you have words muted?
Demi Engeman
I do.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You do?
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I when it coming says that whatever words you have muted says a lot about yourself.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, no, I threw the whole like piss gate like Fruity Pebbles.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, that. Trust me, that's on the cats. That is on the cards. That was big.
Demi Engeman
I. I had to because I just for my, my, my stepsons, I was like they're looking at everything. And yeah, it really upset my stepson actually and it was affecting him. We're getting serious again. Sorry.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's important. This is. Yeah, yeah, no, we didn't get to see in the fucking full season.
Demi Engeman
I was good. Like I did that. I willingly was like, this was fun. This was great. I talked about it with my friends. Yeah, I'm like, I owned that and honestly it was fine. But then when I saw affecting my stepson it school and he was, like, getting kind of bullied for it. I was like, yeah, this can't be a thing. We gotta.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's gotta be poor.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
They're, like, chanting it at games.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What are they chanting?
Demi Engeman
What did they say the other day? They were like, let's go, Fruity Pebbles. Come on, let's go.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, they could be saying piss boy.
Demi Engeman
They could. It could be so much worse. You're so right, baby. You're.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I actually. My. My brain started going, what? I was bullied. So I, like, know the mind of a bully.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And so a lot of nicknames just came to my mind and I. I stopped myself. Good. Because that's your stepson.
Demi Engeman
Because what?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Because that's your stepson.
Demi Engeman
Exactly, exactly.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
They were funny, though. Sorry. Sorry about that.
Demi Engeman
We'll talk about him after.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay?
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. I can't wait. Maybe. Maybe when he get bigger.
Demi Engeman
Yeah,
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
perfect.
Demi Engeman
Perfect.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
He's gonna go on here with Piskey and. And have a comic. Not rip on that.
Demi Engeman
No, no, no.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
For lack of a better word, that's gold. And I. I didn't. I don't even have anything in the bucket for this. I just found out about the piss on the way here. So the piss is. Yeah, it's good. So it tastes like Fruity Pebbles, this piss.
Demi Engeman
I don't know. It wasn't me. I tried it. It was Brett.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
A pit. Okay, gotcha.
Demi Engeman
So you're not up to speed on this at all?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I just found out I want the piss on the way here. Sorry, I wasn't. I wasn't fucking informed about your piss.
Demi Engeman
I thought we talked about it when we. When we talked.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, no, no, no, no. This was new for me.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And so is this a golden shower thing?
Demi Engeman
Kind of. Yeah, pretty much. It's not that crazy. I don't know. At least for me, I was like, why is everyone, like, up in arms about this?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Where did you share this?
Demi Engeman
I didn't. Jesse did.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You and Jesse do not get along. Oh, she's got a lot to say about you.
Demi Engeman
Oh, she doesn't wanna. Yeah, she loves to talk about me.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
I don't have much to say about her, honestly.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And that is the road less traveled.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yep. It's good.
Demi Engeman
It is good.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It is good.
Demi Engeman
There's some people that are worth talking about, but she's not one of them.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Like who?
Demi Engeman
No one right now. I'm just talking. There's people that are worth talking about, and in this situation, I just. I see the videos sometimes. That'll Come across. And I'm like, oh, there she is talking about me again. Oh, that whole interview is about me again. Oh, yep. Can't stop talking about me. That's okay. That's. You know, it says.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It.
Demi Engeman
It says something. I'm doing something right. You can't stop talking about me. So.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, and let him. Let him. Let him, Mel Roberts.
Demi Engeman
Let him.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Let him. That was the only book at the airport one. So I read the first couple pages. Oh, I can't read. I can read.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, you can. You just don't like it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm a fucking conniving liar. Sorry about that.
Demi Engeman
Hey, at least you took accountability. Mom talk would be proud.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes, of course.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, it's all about the accountability.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And so you're not taking any of that? Is that what they're saying?
Demi Engeman
Yeah, they probably think that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
But no, that's just.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I was just wondering why you bring that up. Because accountability is, like, given side eye. Yeah, that's cat eye. Smolder.
Demi Engeman
Oh, yeah. That was more of like a mom.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You see the Tyra Banks documentary?
Demi Engeman
No. Did you?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Was it gnarly?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
She's out of her fucking mind, dude.
Demi Engeman
Really?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. You want to talk about people who should be talked about? That bitch.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
She's delusional, the poor thing. Oh, no, she doesn't see anything wrong with everyone dressing up as a different race. Sorry. Oh, she's like, yeah, it's a different time. So anyways, I sell her hot ice cream. No, she sells a hot ice cream. What is that? That doesn't make hot chocolate. Yeah, right. That's what you would think.
Demi Engeman
Don't make something new. That was already a thing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, well, she. She didn't land on under. We don't have to worry about her.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, but it sounds like we should be. We should probably be talking.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Where is Wendy Williams?
Demi Engeman
Who's that?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Exactly. Let's move on. So let's see what we have in the cards here. And we can. We can get.
Demi Engeman
Do they have, like, pictures on them or, like, actual words?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, so I do. I do. I do read through symbolism, like caveman and so engraving for your name. They just made a cup of piss.
Demi Engeman
I don't know.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That was weird. Okay, let's see what we got here. How's the new puppy? That is classic. First question for you. What the fuck? Oh, I need you to be alive.
Demi Engeman
The puppy is so good. She's so cute. But man, those first two weeks were a lot.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Do you have a dog herder, an infant or a puppy?
Demi Engeman
Oh, I mean, I almost killed myself postpartum, so that was definitely hard. Yeah, that'll do it. But having a puppy is different because they can run around and everywhere. Like, at least a baby has a diaper, you know, so it's harder in different ways.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Baby sucks the soul out of you.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So, yeah, I guess a puppy just gotta. Oh, hey. No, Buster. Exactly. My imaginary dog's name is Buster. No.
Demi Engeman
So you don't have one?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, I can't. I travel too much. Oh, yeah, He's a big stinker. But I have an imaginary cat. Its name is Scrummy.
Demi Engeman
It's always getting in trouble. Is that from when you were little?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, we just. I think we were hallucinating one day, my sister and I, we were living together and I go, oh, what was that? Scrummy, get out of here. And that was. Yeah. No, we didn't really see shit. I was just. This doesn't sound good. No, it does not sound good. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
It sounds like you have a really good imagination. Yes, it's healthy.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That is a great PR pivot. That's good.
Demi Engeman
I love that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
You can't let.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm not crazy. I just have a beautiful imagination.
Demi Engeman
Exactly.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Wow. I like the way you look at things. Thank you. Thank you. It's good. So the puppy's good?
Demi Engeman
Puppy's good. She's sweet. She. I mean, my daughter's obsessed with her. And we've been trying to have a baby for five years. So she's our little baby while we're trying to have another one.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Hell, yeah. And it's nice. It's nice to see them grow. Grow up together.
Demi Engeman
Oh, 100. She's, like, a part of her family. It really is like this. Yeah. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You're gonna have PETA coming out your ass. She does not think a dog is part of the family. That's not something you want. You don't want that.
Demi Engeman
No, but it's weird because I will say, going into it, I was like, oh, they're gonna feel just like I had pets growing up, you know, and they felt like a pet.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
But this, I'm like, no, she's our daughter. Like, you've got my husband in the other room. That's like, you know, like, he's obsessed with her.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
The dad who didn't want the dog.
Demi Engeman
Oh, he, like, woke up with her in the middle of the night every night. He takes her out to pee every single morning. He's like, gotta go see Winnie. Oh, he'll, like, talk to her on the camera. He's like, hi, sweetie. He says prayers with her at night.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, that's adorable.
Demi Engeman
It's a whole thing. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So does that make you jealous ever?
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You don't get jealous of the bitch?
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Sorry, dog.
Demi Engeman
She's my daughter. Yeah, that'd be weird.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That would be fun.
Demi Engeman
That would be like, narcissistic and weird.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. I would never get jealous of a dog.
Demi Engeman
No. Not even an imaginary cat.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Not even if my mom loves it more.
Demi Engeman
See, but sibling rivalry, that's different. You know, you can't get jealous of your husband loving your daughter.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. You know, yeah, that'd be weird. Let's save you from a headline. Let's move on. Do you. Do you often get confused for being Real Housewives in Salt Lake City?
Demi Engeman
Yeah, all the time. Someone came up the other day and was like, oh, my gosh, are you from Desperate Housewives?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And I was like, that's classic.
Demi Engeman
Some of us are desperate, but wrong show.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Wrong show. Some of us are desperate and some of us are kind of walking around like fictional characters.
Demi Engeman
Absolutely.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. But it was.
Demi Engeman
They were losing their minds. They're like Desperate Housewives. I'm like,
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
no.
Demi Engeman
Close, but no.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's a show that has, you know, there's a script.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, 100% script.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Is there anything scripted in mom talk?
Demi Engeman
Mom talk or the show?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Both.
Demi Engeman
I mean, scripted Tiktoks are kind of scripted. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay, but that wasn't organic. You guys didn't just break out into dance all of a sudden like a full blown musical. That's why Whitney's shining on Broadway.
Demi Engeman
Exactly. No, no, not scripted. It's an unscripted series for sure.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
A lot of the women. Speaking of Whitney on Broadway, a lot of the women that are part of MobTalk have pivoted to doing different things. Like the Bachelorette very quickly too. Yeah. I mean, this. It just flies. Yeah, I mean, I. I welcome. When you're hot, you're hot. And when you are not, you are not. I didn't know that. I thought it was always gonna be fun. But anyways, enough about anything else. What would be something that you would want to do as. As a pivot?
Demi Engeman
I would love to. To do a little bit of acting. I grew up wanting to be on Disney Channel. Isn't it funny?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, yeah, no, of course.
Demi Engeman
I manifested.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You could still be a high schooler.
Demi Engeman
Oh, how old are you?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
How big are you? I. You didn't answer before.
Demi Engeman
I'm 31.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, you're baby tiny girl.
Demi Engeman
Oh, I'm a little Baby girl.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Well, you do. You could still play like a High School Musical kid.
Demi Engeman
I don't. I love doing commercial work. Is that weird? I'm like, I never thought I would love that, but I've done a couple commercials and I'm like, whoa, I love this. It's cool. Quick. It's quick. It's not like this six week thing. It's a few days and you get to put on a different character. And I love like the whole, here's a line, this, you get to put that on and then take it off, go home. Yeah, that's fun for me. I would love to see what like a little role would feel like. I think that could be really fun. Yeah, I love to sing. I have no aspirations or, you know, delusions of grandeur of being some like, pop star sensation, but I would love to, just for my own self, record maybe like a small album and release an album.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You and Jesse Solomon should, should link up.
Demi Engeman
Who's that?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
He's from Summer House.
Demi Engeman
Oh, I've never seen that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, you check it out.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Shout Out West.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, I've heard of that, but I've never seen. And then I, you know, I have some other things outside of entertainment that I'd love to do as well.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What? Such as?
Demi Engeman
Therefore, I was, you know, it's still
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
cool to do things outside of entertainment. I feel like you tried to move on because you think I don't care. I care more about that.
Demi Engeman
No, I just, I thought you were more so, meaning, you know, how do you want to pivot inside the entertainment world? Oh, yeah, but really like my goal. And people will listen and be like, oh, advocate for mental health. Oh, you ruined people's mental health. It's like, first of all, no, you do.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, you ruin people's mental health.
Demi Engeman
You say, well, yeah, that's the, that's the running, you know, saying which I wholeheartedly disagree with and is false. But I, yeah, I am like a huge advocate for mental health. Struggle with it. Like I said, my whole life, have a long family history of it. And I would love when it's in the jeans, man. Oh, there's nothing you can do.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
There's nothing you can do. It's just upon you.
Demi Engeman
No, but it's, it's been amazing. I will say. And I keep making it so serious, but like, this is a serious thing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, of course.
Demi Engeman
And I am a huge advocate for like breaking the cycles, breaking the generational cycles, learning better, doing better, finding the right tools that help with that. And I have found so many incredible modalities that have helped me.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Sorry, definition of modality.
Demi Engeman
Modality is just like a. Another word for tool, like, or a practice.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Right. Like ketamine therapy.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes.
Demi Engeman
And talk therapy, you know, energy work. All the different. They call them modalities, so.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
As one. And I have just. I've experienced so much over the past few years that have just helped me so much. So I would love to. I have something in the works right now that's going to kind of be, you know, go hand in hand with my passion for mental health and specifically around postpartum depression, anxiety, ocd, all the things that I struggled with. So.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's huge. That's great.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. That's massive for me. Like, that's huge on my radar. But then outside of that, I'm like, I do love to perform and I do enjoy doing that side of things, so I think it could be fun to kind of do both.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Hell, yeah. And you got this.
Demi Engeman
Thank you.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
100. I. I think it's great that you. You take. You're taking a struggle and you're turning into something. I don't know what that. I don't know. You didn't. You didn't really say what that is, but. Yeah, wait on it. But Sounds like you're taking something you've struggled with and turning it into a good thing. So thank you. Whatever that may be. Yeah. As long as you're not going around hitting people, then I'm happy. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know.
Demi Engeman
I've never done that. So.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You've never hit anyone?
Demi Engeman
No, I have.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh. Feels good. Oh, you should try it.
Demi Engeman
I don't think I should.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, you shouldn't. You're a mom. I don't think that's gonna really turn it out.
Demi Engeman
I don't think it would really go well at all. Yeah, you land in jail for that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I think we're too big. Yeah, we too big. We're too big for hitting.
Demi Engeman
We are.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I. I want one more bar fight, though. I got one more. So is that happened this dog?
Demi Engeman
Has that happened multiple times?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, I've been jumped a bunch. We. We talk about it a lot. On this pod. We can move on.

Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
We kind of touched on this long winded way of asking how do you feel about social media? Taken to the, the whole drama aspect of things and all that jazz.
Demi Engeman
Just in general or with the show
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
up into your interpretation?
Demi Engeman
Yeah, I mean in general social media is, I mean, freaking weird.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's not good for the mental health. I mean that's a, that's a up question to ask right after you told me you struggle with mental health.
Demi Engeman
No, it's not at all.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I think it, I think it goes hand in hand. But I don't really like the way I just did that. So I'm going to be honest with you. I wish I asked something else and that's how we do this show. Honest man.
Demi Engeman
I love it. No, honestly, like don't filter. Ask how you want to ask. I am. Contrary to what people might believe, I am the hardest person to truly offend because I genuinely am like wait, I want to understand that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
And I do give the benefit of the doubt more oftentimes than not. So you'll never offend me. And to anyone listening, this is a safe space. Space just be you. Seriously. 100% social media is.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's, it's, it's. So are you allowed to swear?
Demi Engeman
I mean it's frowned upon, but this is cool.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Kind of break. Yeah, I'm kind of breaking the mold. No, I swear way too much on the show.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. Yeah. And they keep it in cuz it's Hulu.
Demi Engeman
Yep. Nice. Yeah, I like when they do that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's like European.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. Very, very.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
No, it's yeah, it's definitely frowned upon, but everyone on the show swears. I mean, I'm trying to think maybe Macy holds back a little bit. Jen holds back for sure. But we all do.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm kind of going into all this blood, and Jen, you have a. She had. There's an issue she has with you or who. Who is the biggest issue?
Demi Engeman
I mean, someone was talking a lot
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
of smack, and I, I, I was just like, wow, I feel like she rehearsed this. Oh, that's what it felt like to me. I don't know.
Demi Engeman
Jen's definitely talked smack, and she's definitely lied about me on podcasts and said things that weren't true.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Is there anything you'd ever want to clear. Clear up since you didn't talk in the last season?
Demi Engeman
I'm like, publicist. What?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
The floor is yours.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
This also isn't a gotcha. It's just like when I saw you didn't do confessionals, I'm like, I feel like I would have needed to say something. But you chose not to. Which is funny, because I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that in reality tv.
Demi Engeman
Ever. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Just to be like, no comments at any time. Not just this time. At any time.
Demi Engeman
Because anytime I would say anything, it was either used against me or twisted because I unfortunately put a target on my back early on, and I was an easy target for villainry. And that kind of.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Can you imagine? This all started with a dance.
Demi Engeman
No. It's bizarre.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
There's a. People say Mormonism is a cult. Mom talk is.
Demi Engeman
Oh, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, I don't know who's saying Mormonism is a cult. That's my bad. That was, that was wrong. I'm sorry.
Demi Engeman
No, a lot of people say.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
People do say that.
Demi Engeman
Oh, 100.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
But, yeah. No. Mom talks. And who's the leader?
Demi Engeman
Taylor, for sure.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. For sure. Yeah, Yeah. I was watching the first season. I don't, I don't know if you've ever noticed this, and you can tell me if you know, but watching her tell her mom that she's pregnant, that mother already knew. Oh, they were just doing that for the camera. The mom could not act it out. She was like, I am so upset. And then she walked into the house. She's like, she was smiling. She didn't know because if I asked my mom to act mad at me on camera, she would do the same thing. She'd be like, yeah, like, she wouldn't be able to do it. I'm out of here right now. I swear to God, it's funny to watch because you guys. Because the whole thing is you are regular gals. Regular mamas.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Who have just all of a sudden blown the hell up. And you can see that in the first season, like, it starts off, everyone's pretty much chilling for the most part.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
There's the. The sex stuff. You guys all still have sex with each other. All right. No, but. But I feel like you guys were like, more like. It was like a. It was like, like more like willy nilly with it, like Woodstock style. And now it's like, you guys, it seems to be selective on who's. Who's.
Demi Engeman
It was a. It was a one time thing with literally Taylor and Miranda. No one else was involved.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. I mean, not a one time thing for them, but I'm saying that was like a moment in time.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
And that has.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Well, that was the thing that exactly got everyone all fired up.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. Yeah. So that was Miranda and Taylor and their whole group and their spouses. We all were a massive group.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You just watch it.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. No, no. I mean, no, no.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Watching it all unfold.
Demi Engeman
That's not what you meant.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You smart.
Demi Engeman
No, I. Yeah, no one was watching, but we did watch it unfold and then we kind of just by association, got lumped into it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, yeah. Because. Yeah, that's. Yeah, that's guilt of association.
Demi Engeman
Exactly.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, but there's no guilt.
Demi Engeman
Have you had a lot of those?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What's that?
Demi Engeman
Have you been in a lot of those types of situations?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Let's move on. Sorry about the sex stuff. I just feel like I had to ask. Would you. That's a fucked up question. Would you ever go on the House of Villains?
Demi Engeman
I don't even know what that is.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, exactly. So people are wondering if you left. Mom talk. Let's get serious.
Demi Engeman
I stepped away, for sure. I don't know what that's going to look like in the future, but, yeah, for the time being, I'm just kind of taking a break. It's a lot.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Do you have other friends outside of these women?
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. Yeah, because that would. That would suck.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, for sure. No, I have a couple of really good core friend groups and then my family's awesome.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Hell yeah. That's huge.
Demi Engeman
And my husband's my best friend. Like, honestly, like, I would be lost without that man. He's amazing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Met him briefly. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Oh, that's right. We made.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Let's just say I got to watch. Do you find that coming from a Mormon Background is made for. I have this saying that strict parents make for sneaky kids.
Demi Engeman
Oh, I was a snake.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And I could only imagine strict Mormon parents make for even sneakier kids.
Demi Engeman
Oh, yes, 100%.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So you were still like, did you drink in, like, high school or the drinking's bad or do you drink now? What's happening, Sway?
Demi Engeman
No, the first one I drank was right after my divorce.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. Yeah, that'll do it.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, that really pushed it over.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm so. Wait, that was the first time you started drinking?
Demi Engeman
Yeah, I was 24.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Damn, that stinks. Oh, God. It's not even. It's supposed.
Demi Engeman
Because it's not fun.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, it's not for fun stuff.
Demi Engeman
No, it was like I was trying to numb.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, rats. I'm sorry.
Demi Engeman
I know that sucks.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Bad.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, it sucked. But, you know, I will say I'm kind of glad that I wasn't exposed to it as a super young age, but also, like, you could be addicted. Yeah. I watch so many people. Are you? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Everyone says it all. Yeah, that's fine.
Demi Engeman
So it's not like.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Jesus Christ, this is getting embarrassing. I'm like, yeah, you tell me.
Demi Engeman
Is it touchy?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It looks like I don't ever post on TikTok. It's because I have to delete them because I'm only posting when I'm drunk.
Demi Engeman
Oh, no, keep those. Those are the best.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, they are not. Not when you love to have a real blast
Demi Engeman
like there. Are they gonna get you canceled?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No. You just like, Jesus, grow up.
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes. No, I will get big soon.
Demi Engeman
Exactly. You're still little bigger. Yeah, no, just. You're little. So just enjoy it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Thank you.
Demi Engeman
Enjoy it while you're young.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm so. Baby. Yeah, you're big. I'm only 17 and a half. Did you know that?
Demi Engeman
I know. Yeah, I know.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I learned that it's illegally ran. So when I think of being a sneaky kid, I think of drinking in a. In the woods. That for that's me. Because I grew up in the northeast and that's just how we were doing it.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What is sneaky if you're not drinking? Because I really don't like that. My mind doesn't even have an idea.
Demi Engeman
Sex.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, sex. Yeah, I missed out on that.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. I unfortunately did not.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So did you. Did you start with the good old fashioned soak? We don't have to get into it.
Demi Engeman
No, right into it, unfortunately.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, yeah. At a very young age. I was like 14.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Christ, have mercy. Yeah. Okay. You know Good for you.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. No, it wasn't good.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I didn't think so. Yeah, sorry.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, I was a. Yeah, I'm sorry. I was a child.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. I'm sorry. Fuck.
Demi Engeman
But that's okay. That was consensual.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh. Oh, good, good, good, good.
Demi Engeman
Yes.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I was really worried about that. And I didn't know. I was trying to think of something to say. I was just. I wasn't even really. You were looking at.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, you were looking at. You were looking at the symbol, but I don't know.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It been there, girl. Let's move on. So let's play a game called More Mon or no More.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. It sounds like I'm trying to do a Jamaican accent. I'm going to get canceled. All right, so basically, more this or no more.
Demi Engeman
Okay, got it. Got it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Right. Oh, easy, simple Utah curls.
Demi Engeman
No more. No more soaking. No ever. Never, never.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Dirty soda.
Demi Engeman
Every day. More. More, please. What's your order? My daily order is a sparkling water with sugar free coconut, coconut cream and pineapple.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Run that back one more time.
Demi Engeman
Sugar free coconut. Coconut cream.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Coconut is the basis, like, the kind of soda it is.
Demi Engeman
So the kind of. It's like club soda.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
And then you do a little bit of sugar free coconut. Coconut creamer.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Coconut creamer.
Demi Engeman
Sugar free pineapple flavoring.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes.
Demi Engeman
And then fresh lime.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Gotcha.
Demi Engeman
It's basically a pina colada, but sugar free.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Every day. Starting your day off with a pina colada sounds great.
Demi Engeman
Incredible, right?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's awesome. But there's no caffeine in it. Cause that's bad.
Demi Engeman
No, it's not bad. I just. That's how I get my water in.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. Gotcha.
Demi Engeman
Which is very sad to admit.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Well, no, sorry. I mean, I have not opened this.
Demi Engeman
Me either. And I don't plan to. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
But then a lot of people get what's called a dirty Diet Coke.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I did that. I think I did that.
Demi Engeman
You did?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Well, I don't know. I, I, I got something and I was looking back because I was, I was in Salt Lake City and I was like, when in Rome? Yeah. And so I went and I got. What the hell did I get? I don't know. I said it on.
Demi Engeman
Did you go to Swig?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Was that Swig?
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Cause I didn't have a car.
Demi Engeman
Oh, and you don't drive.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I was just in the city and I was like, I'm not gonna take an Uber to go through the drive to.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Although it was kind of an idea that was funny. Just like, I don't Know, you should have.
Demi Engeman
And you should have filmed it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Well, so. And then I got. I did get something. I'm trying to find it in this little. This little TikTok that nobody fucking saw. Fucking TikTok's all fucked up right now. Oh, no, maybe not for you. Okay.
Demi Engeman
No, I don't.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
She goes, oh, no, that's not bad.
Demi Engeman
I don't.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Bad for you.
Demi Engeman
No, I don't post.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, you don't know. We can't not post. I'm. I'm telling you right now. I took the summer off it me dry.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So for lack of a better word, this was the name of the drink I had. Tell me if this is something that the girls are drinking, okay? Oh, sorry. This is a. There's a video before it. Sorry about that. That was me having a blast. And then this is me the next day, hungover, ordering a drink. Dr. Razzle. DP Raz Puree. Coconut cream. Something like that.
Demi Engeman
Close.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Dr. Rez. Pineapple coconut cream. Cream cream.
Demi Engeman
Oh, 100%. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You got it down along those lines, yeah.
Demi Engeman
Was it good?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
We're in a place like New York City and we don't have milk soda.
Demi Engeman
I literally. I mean, this has got to be a normal thing because. Well, listen to this. Last night, I asked for some chamomile tea, and they said, do you want some sweetener and some milk? And I said, so basically, you want to make my tea a swig. It's the same exact thing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, honey, honey, no.
Demi Engeman
It's the exact same thing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You should take this up with the Royal Family because they're not gonna love what you have to say about that. And basically, you know, we're all just, you know, the tea party, it's a fucking swig party. It's all the same. Swing a potty, let's have some fun.
Demi Engeman
What's the difference between taking a Diet Coke, adding creamer to it, and then adding some sweetener?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What's the difference between that and that?
Demi Engeman
And the tea I drunk, I drank last night?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Because tea is paired with jam and bread. Okay, let's move on.
Demi Engeman
You know what I'm saying, though? All it is is a concoction. It's like a mocktail, a cocktail. Whatever it is, all it is is a concoction of things mixed together. That's all swig is.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You're not understanding any of this. So you. You live in a bubble, all right? And I do, too. Living in New York, I think that a lot of things are different than the rest of the country. But I Will say, I'm way off. Milk and soda is not something people can really get. Get. Get behind half the time.
Demi Engeman
Have you never tried it?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I tried it. And you should see me in the rest of the video. I go, I don't know. And then I tried it a second time.
Demi Engeman
I was like, have you ever had just a Diet Coke with some coconut cream? Coconut cream and a lime. It's simple, it's creamy, it's soda y. It's limey. It's. It's good.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's fine. Let's.
Demi Engeman
It's not something to get all worked up about is what you're saying. Like, we need to take it down a notch, 10%.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
But I understand dying on a hill of something that you've. You're. Where you're from and what you. What you love and enjoy.
Demi Engeman
Well, you know, it's not just Utah. Like, it's nationwide. There are swigs all over the country.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
They're just not here yet.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Pull up the stores. Do you have steak in this?
Demi Engeman
No, I wish. But I do have a drink that's named after me. So. Listen, I'm not saying. I'm not saying that means much, but it means.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, it means everything. I would. I would fucking die. Sullivan's Castle island if you named a hot dog after me. I would finally be able to live my life to my fullest. Degr.
Demi Engeman
Wait, you gotta break down. What would be on the hot dog?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Ketchup. Onion.
Demi Engeman
That is the most boring. Oh, I mean, I'm sorry.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I.
Demi Engeman
You didn't offend me.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, dude, I'm not. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
When I talked about my drink, you. You only kind of offended me. Not. Not much. But I would never want to offend your love for that. For that little hot dog. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
But like, Loki, there's got to be relish. There's got to be.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, I like relish sometimes.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, sometimes I like relish.
Demi Engeman
Gotta be in the mood.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I don't. I'd never like mustard. It's all weird. Tangy.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. Yeah. I don't mind not.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
How do you have your hot dog on the fucking fourth of July?
Demi Engeman
Okay, so ketchup. But have you been to J Dogs in Utah? Okay, so they have this J Dog sauce, and it's kind of like this sweet, sweeter sauce. So I go, ketchup. A little bit of J Dog sauce. Relish.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's just mayo. She's like, it's wicked sweet. It's delicious.
Demi Engeman
Like, I love it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Just mayo. It's just straight up mayo.
Demi Engeman
And Then sauerkraut. Gotta do the sauerkraut.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, yeah. See, everyone gets all fancy with it. Like in. In Chicago, they do their dog a certain way. It comes on a pretzel bun.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, it's just too much for you. You want to just have it simple.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I just, you know, I don't want to bother anyone. Yeah, I used to work there. I know. Catch up. And onion. It's easy. The rest is like, all included would be ketchup, mustard, relish, onion.
Demi Engeman
Okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. I mean, I was flipping patties. I was too young to work there. It was sick. When you were having sex, I was flipping patties. It was awesome. It was super. It was so good.
Demi Engeman
I wish I would have been doing that instead.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
For what it's worth, I'm sorry. So I don't know what this one means. Remember we were playing that game?
Demi Engeman
You want to go back to that anyway? Yeah. Sorry.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
I was stuck in time.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I know. I'm sorry.
Demi Engeman
I'm just kidding.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's my fault. What's a Zion curtain?
Demi Engeman
I have no clue. Xeon. Zion curtain.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's where they have the alcohol. Behind the wall in Utah. Oh, that's very specific.
Demi Engeman
I don't. I've never heard of that. But also, I don't drink, so I don't know.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Well, it is. It is interesting because I did. I did. I found out a lot about the drinking rules that I just absolutely fucking hate.
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I mean, I'm a big drinker and they've got a machine that pours it out. I like, did like a 10 minute rant on it a couple weeks ago on this podcast. I was losing my mind. It looks like something that you would like for, like, it would be like birth control you put up, but it's so annoying. And then also, like, in every bar, it has. The bar has to be, like, blocked off by these curtains. I just didn't know they had a name.
Demi Engeman
Oh, I did not know that. But Zion is in Utah, so I thought it was something specific to Utah. No, it is specific to Utah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It is. It is. Yeah. No, we don't do that around here. Oh, no. The only time we use curtains is if we. We're doing a lock in, which means you. The bartender says you guys can stay. And we've done that twice this week, which is up. Yeah, I'm exhausted this week. Yeah. So they shut the curtains and it's like, hey, don't worry about. We stay. It's my favorite thing ever. It's like. It's like. And Then the bartender's like, everybody's gotta go. And he's like, you're good. Just pretend you're leaving.
Demi Engeman
What do you do to get that, like exclusive invite?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You just had to be super dope. Peace elf.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Twice in a week. Pretty cool. Funeral potatoes.
Demi Engeman
Oh, yeah. That's a huge. A huge Utah thing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So do you remember the rules of game more? Oh, I forgot. No more.
Demi Engeman
I'm so sorry.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's all good. It was a long time ago.
Demi Engeman
It was. Honestly, we got off on weird hot dog tangents.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Swig and lots of concoctions. So, yeah, I. Yeah, no more.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No more of that.
Demi Engeman
No, no, no.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I was just on a podcast, my friend, Shout Out Joey Dardano and where he gives people ask for advice and he very clearly says he cannot give good advice. And he has another person who's also bad at giving advice. I'm a great candidate. And so we went on there and the person wrote in about funeral potatoes and that their mother in law stole the recipe from her and tried to play it off like it wasn't her recipe and she was losing a shit about it. So this is a big deal.
Demi Engeman
I didn't know it was a big deal outside of the Mormon community.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's not. These are all Mormon specific.
Demi Engeman
Joey's Mormon.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, sorry. The woman who wrote in about her problem about the funeral potatoes was Mormon. Was Mormon. I forgot to add that part. And she said it was a very big deal to make these potatoes and she's got the best recipe of all time and her mother in law stole it. Do you get along with your mother in law?
Demi Engeman
She's deceased.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh. Did you make funeral potatoes?
Demi Engeman
Actually, I think they were there. I'm gonna be so real. I didn't make them, but okay. They definitely were there. The church put it on.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, nice. But it was lovely. I'm sorry for your loss.
Demi Engeman
That's okay. It was a few years ago.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Still touchy.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's okay. What about modesty garments? I'm light at it.
Demi Engeman
I'm light at it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I almost passed out like Uncle Pete. Our Uncle T laughs too hard, you pass out. No, it's gotta be a problem. So modesty garments.
Demi Engeman
Oh, I'm gonna get in trouble for this one.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay, here we go. Don't mind me. I just might fall over.
Demi Engeman
Oh, I'm sweating.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, yeah. Why did it get so hot all of a sudden? Because we're talking about modesty garments. Yeah. Oh, God forbid. Take it off. What is this? Chastity belts?
Demi Engeman
You know What? I'm open to changing my own mind. But I'm a. No more on the garments. I'm sorry, but it was once.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Was. What are these?
Demi Engeman
It never was. So they are supposed to be an outward representation of the covenants that you make with God when you enter the temple. For me, I feel like you can do that without a physical thing. I don't want to get in trouble for this because there's so. There's so many.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I just don't know what this is. No, there's just.
Demi Engeman
I mean, it's like anything else, right? Like, other religions have other ways of showing their devotion and their commitment to the religion and their relationship with.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Go somewhere. But I'm not going to do it.
Demi Engeman
Save it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Not on this one. Maybe a different one.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Where. I promise you that.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, yeah, I promise.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I promise you that.
Demi Engeman
But for me, I don't know, it just. It's always felt a little. A little odd.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Are we talking like Orthodox. Orthodox Jews where they, like, wear like. Like the wig and all that jazz? Like, do you wear wigs?
Demi Engeman
No, they are. You wear them under your clothes.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Under your clothes.
Demi Engeman
So they're. They call them underwear, but it's a top and then it's, you know, like short bottoms.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So they tried to modernize the term from modesty garments. So now it's. Oh, we're not laughing. I'm sorry. But it's a little bit different. It's. No, it's just like I'm picturing like granny panties kind of.
Demi Engeman
I mean, at one point they literally went from. To the neck to the ground.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, yeah.
Demi Engeman
Like, they were full Long John style.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay, gotcha.
Demi Engeman
So that's my issue with it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Cause it's cold there.
Demi Engeman
No, I don't know. I mean, it's just. Cause modesty, like, it used to be from the neck to the ankles, right. And that's changed.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So I don't know.
Demi Engeman
I have a hard time because I'm like, why do they change with the societal norms? To me, I feel like it should be one thing that carries, you know, like other religions where it's like, it's never changed.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
So to me, I'm kind of like, I don't subscribe to that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
And I can show my loyalty and devotion and my respect to the covenants I made to God in other ways.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
100.
Demi Engeman
So I. And I know a lot of members are not going to like that answer. And I'm sorry. That's my personal walk of faith.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Can I take my personal walk of faith? Over here. Can I say what I want to say?
Demi Engeman
Absolutely.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What, are you going to beach with long sleeves and pants?
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Is that what it is? No.
Demi Engeman
There's definitely, like, times to wear them. Okay, so it's like, you're going to the gym. You can wear your workout clothes. You're having sex with your husband. Take them off. Like, be normal. You're going swimming. Yeah, yeah. There actually are ones with. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh.
Demi Engeman
So that's what I'm saying. It's like people take it to the extreme.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Got it.
Demi Engeman
And that's the beauty of faith, right? Like, you can have.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I think I would actually really like that. I don't like being naked.
Demi Engeman
Really?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. If I could. I'm like. I'm like. Like a fat comic. Like a fat male comic. I want to keep my T shirt on during sex. You know what I mean?
Demi Engeman
Okay. Well, you'd be great then.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Actually fucking. I would really. I would really like that.
Demi Engeman
See, I'm the opposite. I love being naked. One, two. I love being able to just feel like I can wear what I want. I also have so many weird sensory issues. Like, underwear for me freaks me out. So that's how it all started from. You don't wear underwear? Hell, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Unless I'm wearing a dray heels.
Demi Engeman
Hell yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I got to wear a dre heels.
Demi Engeman
I don't even know what that is.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
A dress. Oh, sorry about that.
Demi Engeman
What, did you turn
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
stupid? A Drayles Adrayals? Yeah. What is that accent? I don't know. I think I was doing the Avon.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. So I'm a no more. I'm a no more on the garments for now.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No more.
Demi Engeman
Open to changing my mind in the future, but for now, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So more or no more mon dirfing. Do you know this?
Demi Engeman
Yeah, I do.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I just learned this. So for those of you at home, dry humping or mutual masturbation as a way to experience physical intimacy while technically avoiding penetration, intercourse, penetrative intercourse.
Demi Engeman
No, I'm not against that at all.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Yeah. Celibacy. It's a lot of sex stuff.
Demi Engeman
Sorry.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I know.
Demi Engeman
I mean, I guess it depends on where you're at in life. I don't see it as a negative.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, what if. What if it's involuntary?
Demi Engeman
Can you relate?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No. No alcohol.
Demi Engeman
There's nothing wrong with it. Nothing wrong with it at all.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Until people are calling you a femcel online, it's just, like, a thing.
Demi Engeman
Well, that's a them thing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, well, it's a kind of a meeting because they're Saying it. But anyway.
Demi Engeman
No, no, no. Don't take that personally.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm trying to do my job, to work the whole no alcohol thing. Is that Mormon or no more?
Demi Engeman
That's a very personal thing for me where it's a no more thing. My mental health and my physical health had never been worse.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Drinking.
Demi Engeman
So for me, it's a no go.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yep. Caffeine, yes. Yeah, it's a.
Demi Engeman
It's gotta stay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And that's the strong one.
Demi Engeman
That's the strongest I go.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
For those of you listening at home, she's. She is also drinking a matcha, which
Demi Engeman
is against the word of wisdom, mind you.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Now who's to say. What is this?
Demi Engeman
In the Mormon Church, there's a word of wisdom of, like, guidelines, basically.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Of things to stay away from.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
We got the thou shalt nots. We got those.
Demi Engeman
Those are commandments.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes, yes.
Demi Engeman
This is more of like a hate
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
being told what to do.
Demi Engeman
Exactly. I do too.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Don't command me to do.
Demi Engeman
And also don't tell me I can't drink a matcha when you don't have.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Does it specifically say matcha? I know it doesn't, but that's hilarious.
Demi Engeman
Yes, it does. It has green flavor tea. Yes, it does.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Which is basically the same thing as swig.
Demi Engeman
That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm just trying to get you going again. No, no, but I'm.
Demi Engeman
No, but I'm dead ass. Serious. Like, why can we drink seven Red Bulls? And that's okay. And not against the word of wisdom, but I can't have a matcha in the morning.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
The.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, it's a little. It's a little. There's things with that that I'm like, I understand certain things, but that's.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's the loophole there. Because red. Red Bull gives you wings.
Demi Engeman
I know, exactly. And you think they.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Because it. Because they don't specifically say energy drinks because they weren't around when they made the.
Demi Engeman
The big. But it's ever. It's ever evolving. Like, they literally came out with green tea a couple years ago.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, they didn't.
Demi Engeman
Yes, they did.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, it's been Asian culture forever.
Demi Engeman
No, no, they literally. I'm saying the word of wisdom.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was like, wow, you're fucking dumb. But you're not.
Demi Engeman
You're not.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I'm dumb. I'm sorry.
Demi Engeman
No, they came out. What? They updated the word of wisdom a couple years ago and said no green tea. Okay, Gotcha And I was drinking every morning and I'm like, are you kidding me? Like, I know people that are literally like dry scooping multiple scoops of pre workout in the morning, heading to the gym, their heart's about to explode.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
And I can't sip it on like basically grass.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's crazy. Does the words of wisdom say anything about cocaine?
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, definitely. That's too bad. I thought that could have been like a loophole. Caffeine.
Demi Engeman
No, they covered their bases.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
They did, yeah. What about Molly specifically?
Demi Engeman
Yeah, for sure. It's on there.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What does it say though?
Demi Engeman
It, it's just like, is there a
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
loophole where it's like, since it doesn't say Red Bull, you could do energy drinks. No.
Demi Engeman
No, you can't. What I will say is that a lot of the Mormon religion is that people think that it's just like this, don't take seven steps on Sunday. Don't do. It's pretty. No, it's pretty loose in the sense that like they're giving you guidelines to health, they're giving you guidelines to spiritual connection, they're giving you guidelines to these. And a lot of it is like. But you also have your own revelation. You also have your own, you know, you have to carve your own path.

Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
you take this the wrong way. Do you ever get sick of. You ever get sick of defending what you believe in to people? No, because the rest of the country kind of seems like they have just found out about Mormons or modern Mormons and I feel like they have a lot of questions like myself, like I, I don't know how many of these questions I could personally take if I was. I was with it. So I actually kind of want to say sorry about that.
Demi Engeman
No, you don't need to apologize because
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I was very curious about it.
Demi Engeman
That's the thing I was going to say say is that it does come across more curious to me.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
And think about the Mormon rap. For majority of the time that people have talked about it, we are weird asses and like polygamists and all these things. So I think it's more so cool to me for people to be like, so, like, how many husbands or how many dads do you have? Or whatever. And it's like, no, we don't practice that. That was like one short period of time in history.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
And I don't even agree with that short time in period of history. And so I think it's cool, if anything, to have a group of Mormon women who have their own personal experiences and personal walks of faith.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
And then also collectively we can come together and be like, oh, no, that wasn't true, or yeah, that was true. And that was weird, because there's a lot of weird things. So then you can clear it up and be like, yeah, we don't practice that anymore. Or, yeah, that was always weird, or, no, that's not true, or whatever it is. And so it doesn't bother me at all, really. And I don't feel like I have to. I'm not a spokesperson for the church. I'm talking about my own experiences, my own walk of faith. So I don't know.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's another interesting part of it is like, it's just even you, all of you ladies on the show, it's like everybody does have their own little path. And I think it's interesting to people of, like, which rules each person decides to follow. Yeah. Because it is kind of all over the place.
Demi Engeman
It is, it is. But we also are a huge, like the church in general, we're huge believers in having agency and choice and agents. And agents famous now. Exactly. Agency and agents. Yep. We're huge believers in that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's important. Yeah, it's important. Let's. Let's finish this. Open it. And there it is. Polygamy.
Demi Engeman
There we go.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. More mon or no more?
Demi Engeman
No more.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
I couldn't handle that. Could you imagine just a bunch of women, a bunch of yes, I can. And I don't know why. Earlier I said, sorry. I just freeze right back. I don't know why. Earlier I said, like, how many dads? It's never Been multiple dads.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's always multiple. Oh, yeah. Because it's.
Demi Engeman
But no. No more. No more of that. I could not handle that. I would literally. Could you imagine?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes.
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, it. Why not? It has been a long time.
Demi Engeman
If I have to share, I'm down.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Sorry. Gross.
Demi Engeman
No, I would. I could not do it.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. No, like, realistically, I. I don't know if I could, but it's.
Demi Engeman
If you're just having fun or whatever, but then, like, when you have your person, like, I'm thinking about Brett, and then I'm being like, okay, see? Have fun at your other wife's house.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Do you miss him when he's gone
Demi Engeman
jump off the nearest cliff?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. I'm just kidding. I was trying to trick you. I'm sorry. No, but Utah and Brooklyn, literally the same when it comes to polygamy.
Demi Engeman
Doesn't exist.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, it's totally alive. It is. So. Yeah. Brooklyn. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
What? Yeah. Like a Mormon?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, no Mormon shit. It's just.
Demi Engeman
Oh, it's just like, swinger community.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Nope. It's polygamy. It's multiple partners. Oh. Yeah, they're doing it. So it's picking up in Brooklyn. I don't know. And they're pretty Friday, so.
Demi Engeman
I mean, there's polygamy that's going on in Utah as well.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes.
Demi Engeman
Because the. We had. We have the LDS Church, and then the FLDS broke off and they continued polygamy.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's a. Fuck Latter Day Saints.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, exactly.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Is it?
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, I don't know. What's the F stand for?
Demi Engeman
I have no clue. I'll be honest.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Fuck,
Demi Engeman
we'll go with that because I have no clue.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What about purity rings?
Demi Engeman
Never had one. Probably needed one.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Sorry. Fuck. Well, speaking of when you were younger, I've got. I do this thing on the show where it's called Disgraceful Receipts, and my sister Nora, she's really weird with it. She finds some real niche pictures and tweets. And I am also just as surprised when I show you these pictures. So, without further ado, this is Disgraceful Receipts. I'm gonna show you some pictures and you explain what's going on in them. Okay. It's not much of a gotcha, but you never know. And it's not. Okay.
Demi Engeman
My publicist is like, oh,
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
starting off here.
Demi Engeman
Ah, where was I? There. This is very, like, 2016.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
This is not blowing your mind that she found this?
Demi Engeman
No.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Because I've seen. I think it's on Facebook. Right.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Kind of weird. Facebook.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. No, that's not surprising. That's somewhere. Oh, I think I'm in Orange County. That was with my ex husband. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Rock on.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. Very 2016 super rock on vibes.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh.
Demi Engeman
I mean, look at the bracelets. Look at the nails. Different colored nails. The hair. No part. No. No need for the part.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I remember. I remember the day I was told, you better split that down the middle. Yeah.
Demi Engeman
Or else.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Or else.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. And did you?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, I had to get with it. Yeah, you have to get with it. You can't. You can't be old.
Demi Engeman
No. You can be bigger. You can't be old.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. And we're not big yet. Here we go.
Demi Engeman
Oh, yeah. I mean, that just happened. It's not every day that you win a Mormon Bake Off.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Is that what it says?
Demi Engeman
But I did.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. The first annual Great Mormon Bake Off.
Demi Engeman
You know how I won that?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What?
Demi Engeman
You put a penis cake.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
A penis cake?
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Fuck yes.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. Breaking. Breaking the. You see the patriarch. The patriarchy.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Fucked the pj Like Taylor Swift says.
Demi Engeman
No, I like that picture of me. I look happy.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Hell, yes.
Demi Engeman
That was a happy day.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It looks confusing to me because it's blurry and it's a Getty image. And it's just the first annual Great Mormon Bake off, so it's pretty funny.
Demi Engeman
But before things turned really bad on the show, so.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, it's the last time you smiled on the show.
Demi Engeman
It really is.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It's too bad. I'm sorry.
Demi Engeman
It was downhill from there.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Damn. I pee.
Demi Engeman
I peaked at the Mormon Bake off. And then. Yeah, just.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You peeked and then you peed and then you got out. Pick bead, get up. It's like, stop, drop and roll. Okay, we got this one. Now you're holding a llama, Correct? Yeah. Yeah. If you're. If you're listening right now, I'd highly suggest you tune into YouTube and we're gonna wrap up as soon as possible. I hear you. I see you.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, that's at Macy and Michaela's joined baby shower.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. With the llama.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, they had llamas there for the little kids. Isn't that cute? I think the names were macaroni and cheese.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That's making me stabbing. I'm so hungry.
Demi Engeman
It.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
That reminds me of a time in my life. This llama here. I went to a birthday party once and they had a. They had a little pony.
Demi Engeman
And was it a good experience?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And they told me, hey, kid, you can't ride that pony. And I fucking bawled my eyes out at the top of the Jumpy. And I could not stop. That's sad.
Demi Engeman
I just had to watch everybody just.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah. Go off with the pony, I guess. Mikey Dion's birthday party. You extended your trip.
Demi Engeman
Oh, no. When Was that? Yeah, 2015.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Where were you? Where'd you extend?
Demi Engeman
That was mine and my ex husband's.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, sorry to be.
Demi Engeman
No, no, no. We have a great relationship.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, yes. Let's go.
Demi Engeman
He's the father of my child.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yes.
Demi Engeman
And we have a incredible relationship. But we. Well, he built that home in Corona del Mar, Newport beach. And then we lived there together when we were.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
California.
Demi Engeman
Yes.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Thank you.
Demi Engeman
Yes. It's all right there.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, wow. That's cool. Yeah, that's really cool.
Demi Engeman
It was a beautiful home.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Hell, yeah. You can almost see your eyes. You're being so suspicious.
Demi Engeman
I know. That was so mysterious. Oh, and loaded ones, nonetheless.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What's going on here?
Demi Engeman
I have no clue. And I've never seen that photo in my life. That is crazy.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Sounds like you're in court. I have never seen that photo ever in my life. I don't know.
Demi Engeman
No, I mean, I had to. It's on the AI. Yeah. Made up.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
This looks like AI. It looks so gorgeous, but just so cool.
Demi Engeman
Thank you.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
So different of a creative.
Demi Engeman
I know. I was a mermaid for Halloween.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Mermaid for Halloween?
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You did it. You did a full photo shoot style. Wow. When was this?
Demi Engeman
I think 2016, 2017 maybe.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What the fuck are you doing photo shoots for Halloween?
Demi Engeman
I don't know.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Content. Cool.
Demi Engeman
Content creation circa 2016.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay, so you do an Instagram and stuff?
Demi Engeman
Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You doing Vine?
Demi Engeman
Yep.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What about YouTube?
Demi Engeman
YouTube came a little later.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
And it was kind of like a.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You. You ended up doing it a little later.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, a little once I. It was like mommy vlogging.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Gotcha.
Demi Engeman
Yeah. So like a year after this.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay. Gotcha.
Demi Engeman
But this was like the beginning of content creation. But I was more into like the photography, videography side of things.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah.
Demi Engeman
I was behind the camera, so this was me experimenting, like, in front of the camera.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You had like an aesthetic on. On Instagram?
Demi Engeman
Yeah. Oh, for sure. Nice freak about it. Yeah. It was ugly, but yeah, I tried a bunch. Yeah.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
It was just out of control. At one point, I was doing. I was doing color, black and white. Color, black and white. Another point, I did all blue. Oh, that was during COVID Because you were. I was feeling.
Demi Engeman
You were film. That makes sense.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I thought this was a gun.
Demi Engeman
Oh, my gosh. Not. My high school ex boyfriend, too. Took the photo on my family trip.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
He took this of you no. Oh, no. He's in the background. You took it on your family trip.
Demi Engeman
Put it on my mirror.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
God forbid. You don't. You don't see him on Instagram.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, for three days. Nonetheless, if that doesn't scream to my mental health.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
I mean, this is so classic. The. I don't know if that's an ipod touch or like one of the new iPhone. That's.
Demi Engeman
That's peep the headband.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Now that's a big old ass flower on there. And then a fedora. That's incredible. Bring fedora's back. Why not? Okay, blondie.
Demi Engeman
I know. That's another Halloween moment. It. We got a lot of Halloween moments.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Who. Who were you?
Demi Engeman
I was a vampire.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Oh, you just wore the teeth. You were one of those? Yeah, I don't know. I put teeth on. I mean, at least some people dribble some blood.
Demi Engeman
Well, my ex husband was the victim and he had blood on his neck. So, you know, it was a little more of a mellow year.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
All right. And. Oh, no, this is classic. We're gonna end on this one. My batch night. So crazy. Ah.
Demi Engeman
And you know what was crazy?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What?
Demi Engeman
Maybe there was a plastic penis there.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What the fuck? That's fucking crazy. Dude. You went absolutely nuttle mode. That's nuts.
Demi Engeman
No drugs, no alcohol, no no nothing. But.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
And I love that it's a Snapchat. My bash night's so crazy. Who's to say? Oh, no. Oh, my God. Don't get me.
Demi Engeman
I think we literally went to Cheesecake Factory.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
What?
Demi Engeman
And then that was your batch. And then went to a hotel and talked about like, ooh, I had to pretend I hadn't had sex before. I'm like, where do I put it?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
You had to pretend. Wait, so you never could confide in your girly pops?
Demi Engeman
No, I'm sorry. That's okay.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
That's another thing.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Fuck. We brought it up again and it's the end of the show, so I don't really know what to do. Oh, there's one more picture. Thank God. Oh, it's the same one. Troll. Thank you so much for coming on. Really appreciate our time here. And anything you want to plug, you can look right into this camera right here. And also, we do this game if you want to. You can give any kind of a shout out anywhere to anyone, all rapid fire style. Oh, so, like, I'll give an example. Shout out Sullivan's Castle Island. Shout out to South Date Parade. Shout out. That's St. Patty's Day. Shout out St. Patty's Day. Shout out the Irish. Shout out the inbred. Shout out my cousins. Shout out Auntie Coco. Shout out my mom. Shout out my dad. Shout out just about anyone with a boat. I'll see you this summer. Shout out anyone who wants to take me on a family trip. I don't want to go on a trip with just you. I want to go with your family and shout out Chuck E. Cheese. Thank you.
Demi Engeman
Did those all just come to you?
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
No, no, no. So if you want to do the same, just right into that camera, you can shout out anyone. You take your time. But I heard you do have to get out of here, so. Yeah, not me. It's you.
Demi Engeman
Let's keep this super simple, okay? Because my daughter's gonna freak out.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman
Shout out to my daughter, Maude. My whole world, my whole life, my everything. I love you so much. And shout out to my haters. Honestly, wouldn't be here without you. I know that's cliche, but it's true.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Yeah, I think they have that in the Times Square T shirt.
Demi Engeman
I should go find one.

Yeah, like from New York. And on the back it says, my haters are my motivators. I don't.
Demi Engeman
Yeah, I don't really agree with that.
Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
Okay.
Demi Engeman

Podcast Host (Grace O'Malley)
The environment. Well, thank you so much for coming on. It's been a pleasure. And I. I'm not gonna end on any kind of a note because I feel like I'm gonna say something that is probably bad. So let's have a good one and stay tuned.

Host: Grace O’Malley (“Unwell”) | Guest: Demi Engemann
This episode of DisGRACEful features Grace O’Malley in conversation with Demi Engemann—Mormon housewife, creator from “MomTok,” and star of the reality show Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Grace admits upfront that she had little time to prepare for the interview and hasn’t fully watched Demi’s show, giving the discussion a spontaneous, candid atmosphere.
The episode explores misconceptions about Mormonism, the creation and evolution of "MomTok," mental health and reality TV pressures, social media drama, and the realities (and rumors) behind secret Mormon wife culture. Grace and Demi keep the tone comedic, at times darkly so, but also touch on serious aspects of mental health, faith, public scrutiny, and personal growth. The episode culminates with lighthearted games and the classic “Disgraceful Receipts” segment.

If you’re curious about modern Mormon culture, reality TV behind the scenes, or the way viral fame collides with family and faith, this episode serves as both an honest primer and a refreshingly irreverent roast. Demi and Grace deliver both laughs and insight, challenging stereotypes all the while.
Skip the ads and intros: the action starts at 01:06, and the most candid/engaging content happens in the main conversation, especially regarding faith, MomTok operations, mental health, and reality TV drama.
