ABOUT THIS MESSAGE:
The Lutheran Church has regularly held a special Sunday of Confirmation for young men and women who have completed confirmation instruction. The two young men before us this morning – Jude Booher and Bryar Murphy – have been confirmed (strengthened) in the central teachings of Scripture, using Dr Martin Luther’s Small Catechism as a guide. They have grasped the basic doctrines of God’s Word and are ready to become communicant members of this congregation. By no means have they mastered all the teachings of Scripture or made additional study unnecessary. In fact, it is our prayer that the instruction they have received be only the beginning of their spiritual growth through regular use of the Word. God bless and keep these two confirmands in his grace all their days.
