Charlamagne Tha God
I am not. There's a bunch of donkeys out here in the streets. If we live a life where we bite our tongue based off who we may offend, we never would say anything. You don't give a damn. Go throw it up.
State Farm Agent Advertiser
Give it to him on the breakfast club.
Charlamagne Tha God
In the words of Charlamagne, tha God, he's a donkey that was. Oh man, charlamagne. You giving donkey today to who now? Well, busta rhymes donkey Today for Tuesday, March 10th goes to Charles Montgomery Allen. He's 40 years old and he's from my beautiful home state of south carolina. But he is not a beautiful person, okay? In fact, he represents the worst of us because I have no idea what the hell is wrong with humans anymore. Every day I wake up and I read a story that reminds me of why Jesus is not coming back. Okay, he's not. I wouldn't. Okay, All y' all gonna do is make ridiculous memes about him anyway. Can you imagine to think pieces with no thought about Jesus. If he came back, it would be so many ridiculous YouTube videos calling Jesus a fraud. Okay, Jesus, don't even waste your time. Oh, geez. Just keep watching over us from afar, okay? I have read all the stories about u. S. Service members who were told the war with Iran is meant to cause armageddon or the end of biblical times. The that right there is yet another reason Jesus not coming back. Okay? Y' all always attaching his name to foolishness. But I'm saying all of this because my grandmother used to always say, lord, I never seen a time like this. And this was the 80s and 90s. Here we are in 2026. Here I am in 2026 at the big old age of 47 saying, Lord, I ain't never seen a time like this, okay? There's so much evil in the world. But there's also so much untreated mental illness in the world. And untreated mental illness, mental health disorders can absolutely criminal behavior. And in the case of Charles Allen, I don't know if he had any mental health issues. Maybe I'm just hoping he did because it would help me understand why he committed such a heinous act of violence. Would you like to know what Charles Allen Montgomery did? Well, let's go to 9abc for the report, please.

A man in South Carolina will spend the rest of his life in prison after he admitted to shooting and killing an eight year old from Portsmouth. Querious Dunham was just vacationing with his family in Florin, South Carolina back in 2022 when he was hit in the neck by a bullet. Dunham's father was also shot, but survived. Officials say Charles Montgomery Allen was randomly firing a gun at passing vehicles when it hit the Dunhams and some other people. Yesterday he pleaded guilty to one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder.
Charlamagne Tha God
First things first. Rest in peace, the eight year old queries. Dunham, as you just heard, vacationing with his family in Florence, South Carolina and was shot and killed by Charles Montgomery Allen because Charles was randomly, randomly firing a gun at passing vehicles.
Shopify Advertiser
Why?
Charlamagne Tha God
Why, why, why? Charles, if you wanted to be a first person shooter, there's so many video games for that. Call of duty isn't enough. Battlefield 6 dead space. You couldn't go to the gun range. You couldn't wait until it was deer hunting season. Like there's so many different ways you could choose to bust your gun. There's so many different ways you could exercise your second amendment rights, but you decided to randomly shoot, shoot at passing vehicles. I really wish people like this would turn the gun on themselves first before they decided to shoot at random people. I would much rather you take yourself out than be shooting at random passing vehicles and end up doing what you did, which was kill an 8 year old boy for no reason. As you heard in the news report, the young man's father was also shot, but he survived. And I am sending that brother healing energy because some things are just out of the realm of my understanding and I couldn't possibly understand what that father has been going through the past few years. And I pray to God that I never have to feel anything remotely to what he's felt. Okay, now the Justice Department got it right. It's great that this man got sinister forever in prison, but that's not bringing queries back. And it still doesn't make us understand why Charles did this in the first place. I'm from South Carolina, born and raised. There's a lot of things I grew up loving to do, okay? Shooting at random cars was never one of them. Okay? All right. The fact that we are forced to have to deal with with each other's crazy on a regular. The problem is, back in the day, we were all segregated, okay? Kids like Charles ate lunch before everyone else. They was in those trailers in the back. They rode the bus that was shaped like Drew Ski. Now we all in the real world together, and nobody knows who's who. And some of those people have grown up. And those untreated mental health disorders are driving criminal behavior. I have nothing else to offer, okay? This conversation, because this defies human logic. And it's times like this that I just have to remember Proverbs 3. 5. Lean not on your own understanding, okay? I have to trust in God's wisdom rather than relying on my human logic, because my human logic can't even understand, can't even comprehend why the hell Charles was just shooting at random passing vehicles. Okay, this is the time that calls before full surrender because nothing about this situation makes sense to me. All right? Please give Charles Montgomery Allen the biggest he ho. You gotta tell me, son. You gotta tell me there's a mental health disorder. You got to tell me that there was cocaine involved. You got to tell me that there was some alcohol, something. Still no meth. Like what caused him to just want to randomly.

Podcast: Donkey of the Day on The Breakfast Club, Power 105.1 FM
Host: Charlamagne Tha God (with Angela Yee and DJ Envy)
Date: March 10, 2026
Episode Focus: Charlamagne awards “Donkey of the Day” to Charles Montgomery Allen for fatally shooting an eight-year-old boy during a random act of violence.
This episode centers on Charlamagne Tha God’s somber and emotional response to the tragic fatal shooting of 8-year-old Querious Dunham in South Carolina. Querious was killed while vacationing with his family after Charles Montgomery Allen, a 40-year-old man, randomly fired at passing cars. The episode is both a condemnation of Allen’s senseless actions and a wider reflection on untreated mental health issues, unchecked violence, and societal breakdowns.
“He represents the worst of us because I have no idea what the hell is wrong with humans anymore. Every day I wake up and I read a story that reminds me of why Jesus is not coming back.” — Charlamagne Tha God [04:11]
“Why, why, why? Charles, if you wanted to be a first person shooter, there's so many video games for that.” — Charlamagne [06:17]
“I'm sending that brother healing energy because some things are just out of the realm of my understanding, and I couldn't possibly understand what that father has been going through the past few years.” — Charlamagne [07:23]
“It's great that this man got sentenced to forever in prison, but that's not bringing Querious back.” — Charlamagne [07:43]
“Lean not on your own understanding, okay? I have to trust in God's wisdom rather than relying on my human logic.” — Charlamagne [08:15]
“Rest in peace to Querious Dunham, sending healing, healing energy to his family. Eight years old, man. Horrible.” — Charlamagne [08:54]
| Time | Segment | Speaker | Key Point | |----------|-------------------------------------------------|--------------------------|----------------------------------------------------------------| | 03:17 | Introduction of Donkey of the Day | Charlamagne | Frames the importance of calling out wrongdoing | | 05:27 | News report on shooting | News Reporter | Allen’s conviction and the tragedy laid out | | 06:16 | Lament and critique of violence | Charlamagne | Questions senselessness, addresses therapeutic alternatives | | 07:23 | Expression of empathy to victim's family | Charlamagne | Sends “healing energy,” acknowledges incomprehensibility | | 08:15 | Religious/philosophical perspective | Charlamagne | Cites Proverbs, trusts in divine over human understanding | | 08:54 | Emotional close | Charlamagne | Pays respects to victim and reaffirms horror of the event |
Charlamagne is deeply emotional, angry, and mournful throughout. He uses candid, sometimes blunt language (“I really wish people like this would turn the gun on themselves first...”), but pairs his critique with empathy for the victim’s family and a call for broader awareness about mental illness and violence in America.
This episode delivers a powerful, sobering message about the impact of senseless violence and the unresolved societal issues that breed such tragedies. Charlamagne’s “Donkey of the Day” serves as both condemnation and reflection, pushing listeners to consider not only punishment but also the roots and repercussions of unchecked evil. Rest in peace to Querious Dunham.
