Episode # 012: In this episode I talk about how a routine is one of the top five things that you can incorporate in your life to make a significant change. Those of us with ADHD and Depression find it very difficult to maintain a consistent routine. I know in my life it has caused significant chaos and burnout from living by the seat of my pants and thinking that this was how I thrived!I explore how the seven benefits of developing and maintaining a consistent routine can help you as well. From aiding focus and productivity, reduced anxiety and stress, fostering healthy habits and reduced burnout the list goes on. This is an essential element to aid you in better quality days and a healthy lifestyle to take back your life!

Episode # 011: In this episode I talk about the importance of breaks not just at work but in your personal pursuits of learning. I mean most of us want to be as productive as possible so we can get recognized and possibly get a raise, right? How taking frequent breaks can actually lead to better focus and higher productivity while preventing burn out (which many of us suffer from) among other amazing benefits. Pretty crazy right? I dive into the data and reveal some rather surprising benefits that I just had to try out in my own life. Why did a company called The Energy Project implement a 90 minute break policy?I also explore the concept of harmonious passion in Adam Grant’s book Hidden Potential where he reveals the three benefits of taking breaks. Studies have shown that better work-rest ratios report higher engagement levels and job satisfaction which adds up to increased employee retention. And finally better ways to make the most out of your break time!

Episode # 010: In this episode I talk with ADHD Organizer Coach Megs Crawford about how after she started working with a therapist while pursuing her masters degree it became apparent that she might benefit from getting diagnosed with ADHD. Her immediate thoughts were how could I go through my entire life and not know that I have ADHD? She talks about how after reading Faster Than Normal by Peter Shankman she felt that she wasn’t alone and that empowered her on her journey of self-discovery.It was a real pleasure enjoying her positive energy that she describes as “being super tapped into the feelings that she wants to have on a regular basis.” Megs shared with us about how she learned that from her mother and always tried to model that in her life and to be a great role model for her children. She also talks about what finally motivated her to become a coach and start her own podcast. Megs even coaches me on how I can be more successful with organization in my daily life schedule just by asking the right questions.

Episode # 009: This is the final part of a series in which I explore the root causes behind depression and the mindsets that can contribute to it, and in the end I’m going to delve into ways to overcome and deal with depression in a healthy and effective way. In this episode I get my boots to the ground and talk with other people suffering from depression and discuss how to distinguish between ADHD and depression. I also talk about how ADHD could be the underpinnings of depression.I reveal coping strategies for RSD, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem and social isolation that have worked in my life. I do deep with my on the spot guests about their experience with suicidal ideation and I am grateful for their open vulnerability. Suicide is a very real and scary thing and it happens more often than you might think because people just don’t feel safe talking about it. There is hope by reaching out and getting connected to ways to manage through community and medication. Together we can gain more clarity on how we can help fight this and bring it into the light.

Episode #008: This is the third part of a series in which I explore the root causes behind depression and the mindsets that can contribute to it, and in the end, I’m going to delve into ways to overcome and deal with depression in a healthy and effective way. In this episode I talk about the impact of the LA fires and how you can contribute the most to make an impact. I can’t imagine what these folks are going through and just how depressing that might be.I also talk about how depression continues to affect me even while making this episode in hopes that talking about it will help. I take a look at the connection between upbringing and parenting styles can make a hard situation that much more difficult. How to manage a child who could have depression, what to look for and the differences between it and ADHD. These techniques can be used to explore our own depression by giving ourselves much needed compassion and understanding.

Episode # 007: This is the second part of a series in which I explore the root causes behind depression and the mindsets that can contribute to it, and in the end I’m going to delve into ways to overcome and deal with depression in a healthy and effective way. In this episode I go deeper into Naturopath Jodi Gozzard’s expertise on the science of stress, toxicity, brain waves and gene mutation getting closer to the root cause of depression. Along this enlightening journey of discovery I go out and ask my audience how stress and toxicity has impacted them in their daily lives and how they manage it. I get an indepth look at just how deep these things can go and that there is hope in finding a solution but you have to get to the root. My hope is that this sheds light onto a subject that doesn’t get talked about as much as it should and has become a silent epidemic.
