Marty O'Neill
What's up, guys?
Thomas
What's up, guys? We're here. We're hyped. You guys already know, you see from the title. We're just going to get straight into it. We've been talking about this guest for a while. It's finally happening. This is the key Glock episode. Thanks for being here, man.
Key Glock
Appreciate, Appreciate you.
Thomas
And also, you guys showed up, like, on time, like straight up. Right up. They're like, damn. All right, let's go.
Marty O'Neill
We appreciate it.
Thomas
I appreciate you, but just want to get started off on the new album. It's dropping in what, like a month and a half? May, right?
Key Glock
Maybe.
Thomas
Oh, maybe.
Key Glock
Yeah, maybe. Maybe April. Who knows?
Thomas
Glockavelli. So you have not one feature on the whole album?
Key Glock
No. How can you.
Thomas
How many songs are on it?
Key Glock
I'm debating between 20 and 30.
Thomas
It's like a double disc.
Key Glock
N. Just one.
Thomas
Just one album. D. You remember those double discs you just bought back in the day?
Marty O'Neill
Oh, yeah, of course.
Thomas
Sick.
Marty O'Neill
I saw you post. You were picking out it. You had like 55 songs recorded. That was like a while ago, though, so I imagine it was probably like.
Key Glock
I don't recorded 55 more.
Thomas
Yeah, just pick. Cherry picking.
Key Glock
Nah, I ain't cherry picking. We voting.
Thomas
You're voting?
Key Glock
Yeah, we take votes. Like, how many homies go in the studio and take votes on songs?
Thomas
You know, I never heard nobody say that before.
Marty O'Neill
Nobody said that. Not even close.
Key Glock
Certain songs don't even make cuts, so you get took off.
Thomas
Is it the same people every time you vote?
Key Glock
No, it's just. It's like 10 groups of five. Take me like three to four weeks to.
Thomas
To pick it?
Key Glock
Yeah. To do it with everybody.
Marty O'Neill
It's like market research.
Thomas
Yeah, no, for sure. That's. It's like posting it without posting.
Marty O'Neill
That's really smart. I mean, people don't take the time to do that.
Key Glock
I got the time.
Thomas
So you have two singles out right now. Was it 3am in Tokyo?
Key Glock
Right.
Thomas
So I've been. It's been popping up on Spotify. Obviously they love you and they're. They're posting this out, everything. So we've been seeing it pop up and then I think it was no sweat. Right.
Marty O'Neill
That's coming out.
Thomas
That's coming out. And this will be out by the time this.
Key Glock
Right.
Thomas
It comes out the 14th.
Key Glock
Right.
Thomas
This is the 18th. This episode comes out.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Key Glock
So we're good to go.
Thomas
So what can you tell us about the album, man? What are you Most excited about? 30. Damn. 30 songs.
Key Glock
The album gonna be real different. It's not gonna be like the Glock, what people expected, basically. I don't want to say too much on it. Yeah. So just, just know that evolution and.
Marty O'Neill
The production and just where you're coming from.
Key Glock
Yeah, for sure. Everything is. Everything is elevated, basically.
Thomas
And for the videos, I mean, save. It's gonna be different. You can.
Key Glock
Out of video. We still shooting movies.
Thomas
That's what I'm saying. Little mini movies.
Key Glock
Yeah, we still shoot movies.
Thomas
And we read that you're hands on with this. So what does that go down to? You're directing it?
Key Glock
Not to the T, but in a way. Yeah. I don't want to take no credit from the directors, but.
Thomas
But yeah, like the skeleton, you're giving the base, basically.
Key Glock
I give them my vision and they. They helped me bring it to life.
Thomas
Yeah, yeah. Like the executive producer at that point, for sure.
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Instead of just showing up and I'm telling you what to do and you leave.
Key Glock
Exactly. Yeah, exactly.
Thomas
Yo, we were saying it earlier, like, damn, this 8 billion streams you have. And my brother's like, that's the earth. That's every person on the earth, bro.
Key Glock
If you think about it that way.
Thomas
Think about it that way. Like when you first start, like one day I'll have 8 billion people at least. Listen to this.
Marty O'Neill
Thank you, sir. Damn, that's a canon.
Thomas
Yeah, I know.
Key Glock
It's tough.
Thomas
It's cool. It's cool to think about, man.
Key Glock
No, it is. It just. It don't move me. But it's cool though.
Thomas
It is. Yeah, it's cool. It's cool. It's like a little accolade. Like, are you kidding me? No, I mean, I think that's something to be super proud of, man. That's the whole earth.
Key Glock
That's great.
Marty O'Neill
So you just know when it's done, like, you're like this, this is it right here. At a certain point, it's been done.
Key Glock
You got it done. Got burnt. It's well done, it's overcooked. It's ready to go. It's ready to go.
Marty O'Neill
What about like the graphics? Because you're known for like the high level photography, the branding of the project, that whole aesthetic, like, is that all dialed in?
Key Glock
Like, I ain't a lot, bro. I'm unpredictable. Like, I might tell you something right now, a month from now, it's not going to Be that so.
Thomas
So it's so.
Key Glock
I don't even want to speak on it. Right.
Marty O'Neill
Totally know what you mean.
Thomas
Is it like when you fall asleep and go, all right, I have to change everything. That's what I do. I'll be writing right when I'm about to fall asleep. That's when everything in the world, like, nobody's bugging me.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Thomas
I start thinking, you know what I mean?
Marty O'Neill
It's different because you're an independent label, though, right? So you're just, like, at the steering wheel. You're making all the shots, basically. Or is that not correct?
Key Glock
I was, but at the same time, like, I'm still. Still, like, making out of shots. Yeah, for sure.
Marty O'Neill
Because, like, I've heard you talk about, like, being independent for so long was the reason. Like, what put you ahead so far in terms of, like, other people signing to maybe, like, a major deal, but not getting the big shows and the big venues and all that stuff? Like, how's it. Could you explain, like, in simple terms, like, how an independent artist can, like, make more money than, like, somebody signing a big deal like that?
Key Glock
All I gotta do is just. It's really just two things. You just gotta have, like, strong faith in yourself. And two, you gotta be your work ethic. Because, like, no matter like, what field you in, no matter, like, what career, no matter what you do, like, if you got the work ethic and you just stay at it, like, success will find you, like. Like it eventually pay off, no matter what it is.
Thomas
Rapping, landscaping, like we always say.
Key Glock
Landscaping, pain, doing jumping jacks, whatever.
Marty O'Neill
That's kind of the theme of the show. Yeah.
Key Glock
Yeah, for sure.
Marty O'Neill
Hell, yeah.
Thomas
Yeah, so also the other theme, man, we tell stories on here. I like to hop into some. Some w. You know what I mean? I like to, like, like, Jeezy, like, when's the first time you got beat up? It's like, what, you never heard that story? I want to hear that, but now I'm not going to ask you that.
Key Glock
But, like, I want to have an ass.
Thomas
Damn. All right. So I like to ask different questions, get us down the path. When I was younger, I used to do a lot of dumb. I mean, we all did. And I remember the first time I ever ran for the cops, ever. I remember who I was with. I remember the first time where you're like, the sandlot looking back, like, with the dog. I don't kid. Like, that kind of fear, you know? Do you remember that first time you ran for the cops? What age were you? What Happened.
Key Glock
I think I was like eight. It's just, it was the crowd I was with though. Yeah, like the youngest. All my cousins, like, we all grew up together. Like we all around the same age and like when nobody like never like, rarely did anything like alone. So we all like moved as a group. So when one person do something, everybody will do something. So this particular day, I was just, just around and something happened. So I had to get up out of there because, like, why, why would you stay? So, yeah, I had to, I had to run from the police. The first time.
Thomas
All right, so that was the first time as a kid though. That's like the kid. What's the first time? You're like, yo, I'm gonna go to jail if I get caught. You know, I mean, because I was like around 13, I was like, man, they're gonna take my ass to jail if they find this.
Key Glock
I never, I don't never even think like that.
Thomas
No damn. The whole time.
Key Glock
You can't think like that. Like your brain don't know sarcasm. You know sarcasm.
Thomas
But yeah, yeah, it's a good way to put it.
Key Glock
You putting that on yourself.
Thomas
I'm fat though. I'm just had to think like I'm the first one to get caught for sure. Out of all these little skinny kids. I'm done. So that's my going through my head like, damn, what's gonna happen?
Marty O'Neill
Are you talking in like affirmative statements? That's how I think. Like, I'm not even gonna give that thought any power.
Key Glock
Yeah, like real talk. You can't like, like no funny. Like don't put no negative thought or release no negative verbal. You know what I'm saying? Statement upon yourself. Because like not saying it actually happened, but it's a chance. Yeah, because like you manifesting it.
Thomas
Yeah, I don't watch horror movies because of that. Like, because I'm like, I don't want to watch murder and have this bad around me. That's all I'll be thinking about.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Thomas
Then I watch some crazy ass Twitter. Yeah, but I don't know about the horror movies, man. The horror movie, that's the worst part about it. And they, they like we always say Twitter thinks we want to see that at 9, 13 in the morning, bro. The first thing I open my.
Marty O'Neill
Do you get into murder mysteries and stuff or. Not so much.
Key Glock
That I don't know how to answer it.
Marty O'Neill
Like, my wife watches them. I don't watch. I don't like paying attention to that stuff.
Key Glock
Hell no. Like, first of all, I don't I don't watch it upon myself. Like, I don't, like, find a documentary or movie like, upon myself and just click on, like, if it's already on and somebody watching, I might jump in and watch it. But, nah, I ain't feeding to it.
Marty O'Neill
I heard you like to watch football.
Key Glock
Yeah, I love football.
Thomas
Bill's fat.
Key Glock
Bills.
Thomas
Bills.
Marty O'Neill
It's the city of Buffalo behind you.
Thomas
He's from Buffalo. That's cool. We won.
Key Glock
Yo, Josh, too.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Thomas
And you were. I mean, if you're a Chiefs fan. I remember when I was. How old are you?
Key Glock
He said, if I'm a cheese fan, I'm.
Thomas
So you're a cheese fan. But how old are you?
Key Glock
No, no, the age.
Thomas
No, I want to say because. Do you remember. Do you remember Dante Hall?
Key Glock
Yeah, I remember that time.
Thomas
The human joystick. Yeah, that's what I remember. The Chiefs, man.
Key Glock
But. But I wasn't a Chiefs fan then, I'm not gonna lie.
Thomas
Oh, okay. Okay.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
Who were you a fan of?
Key Glock
I'm a Brady fan. I was, like, ever since, like, when I first found out about football, I was just stuck on Brady, Randy Moss, and the Damian Thompson. Lt. Yeah. I first found out about football. I ain't found out about football till I was in, like, third grade, fourth grade.
Thomas
And that's actually. You never played or nothing? You just never got into that.
Key Glock
That's when I started playing, when I found out about it.
Thomas
Oh, damn.
Key Glock
Like, my cousin had a football here on his couch. I'm like. I'm like, where the this come from? Like, we. We kids, though. I'm like, where the this come from? He like, I play football. Like, play football. I'm like, where I want to play. It just went from there. Just went from there.
Thomas
Cornerback.
Key Glock
Who, me?
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Key Glock
No.
Thomas
Strong safety?
Key Glock
No.
Thomas
What? No, I'm never gonna guess. Dan. That was.
Marty O'Neill
I already heard what I heard you say in an interview earlier.
Key Glock
What?
Thomas
I don't know. What position did you play when you play football?
Key Glock
I started out playing running back.
Marty O'Neill
Oh.
Key Glock
But when I got it in, like, development, like football, like actual structure football school, I played slot receiver. That makes sense, because I was.
Thomas
That makes sense.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Through high school.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Nice.
Thomas
Oh, damn. You stuck with it good.
Key Glock
No, no, no, no, no.
Thomas
I'm saying all the way through high school, I mean. Oh, okay.
Key Glock
I stopped in high school.
Thomas
I couldn't make it through, man. They want me going Saturdays.
Key Glock
I wouldn't mentally focus no more on football, basically.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Once it sinks in your head, like, I'm not going to the NFL. What am I doing out here? That's what it was.
Key Glock
It's really. It was really more so me and my coach relationship.
Marty O'Neill
That's horrible.
Thomas
Same.
Key Glock
Yeah, like. Like he. He judged me more based. Based, like, he judged me based on how I was off of the field.
Thomas
You try to get me to cut my hair. He tried to give me because I had long hair. He's like shaved or you're not playing. He was one of those.
Key Glock
No.
Thomas
That's so weird. He knew. I saw. He knew.
Key Glock
I don't know, like, that he was. He was the type of like, if you're a senior. Like, he. Like, I'd rather let the senior start. Like, no matter based on the talent. Like, I'd rather let the seniors and juniors start last.
Thomas
Yeah.
Key Glock
And like how I came up playing football, I always started. I was always like one of them key players. So it's like this kind of rubbed me wrong. And then again, I was in the streets at the same time. So I'm like, is it worth it? I'm becoming a man, a young man at the time. So I'm like, man, I'm getting money now in the streets. Fast money. I'm like. Like this. I'm like, I don't care for it no more. This. That's how that happened.
Thomas
Yeah. I just wanted to smoke more weed. And I was like, they're. They're trying to test. They're trying to cut your hair for me.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
What the. I quit, man. I was a star, all that. So it's like, I remember the dad turned my jersey in. They tried to lecture me before I walked off. It was like a mo. Like that. Days are confused. All right, so if you're saying you're not watching nothing, you might watch some. I just want to know. Not watching nothing. What are your favorite shows? Nothing. When you're a kid, Nothing. Like growing up.
Key Glock
I don't watch. I don't watch. I don't watch shows now. I don't watch series now. Cuz I can't keep up with them.
Thomas
No, that's too hard. What's your favorite movies?
Key Glock
My favorite movies is like back in the day movies. Like. Like Juice. You know what I'm saying? Juice. What else? I got Billy. I love Billy. Ain't lie. I probably. Probably watch barely at least once a month.
Marty O'Neill
This four right here just booked Nas on the show, so I can't wait to talk about that.
Key Glock
It's hard. Them two for sure. Minister society. Minister society. The regular one, not the parrot. Don't even Know, you know, people. People, like, when you say minister society, they think of the parents drinking your.
Thomas
Juice in the hood. Yeah, that's crazy. What a title. I just think of the Rocket. That's my favorite. It's a good movie.
Key Glock
In New jc, New Jersey.
Marty O'Neill
Yep. That's one of my favorites.
Key Glock
New J City.
Thomas
That's a good one, too.
Marty O'Neill
What about Hustle and Flow?
Key Glock
It's not one of my favorites because, like, I'm from Memphis. Like, it's a great movie and all.
Thomas
But it's a whole different take for you.
Key Glock
It's not. It's not as Memphis as Gotcha. Memphis people think. You know what I'm saying? It's not kind of my question. There's nothing wrong with the movie or nothing, but it's a great movie. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Thomas
All right. Growing up, what's your favorite cartoon? There's a good way of rounding people out. Like, I met some fools like that don't even smile.
Key Glock
When I was younger. When I was younger, probably like grade school, it was probably spongebob. Until I found out about Duck Swim. When I found out a duck swim.
Thomas
Oh, don't swim.
Key Glock
Oh, hell yeah.
Thomas
They said duck Swim.
Key Glock
Like, what is the Duck Swim? Like, when I found out about this, I thought, Nickelodeon, I'm a grown up. I'm watching Strictly Robot Chicken Boondocks.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, yeah.
Key Glock
Celebrity Death Match.
Marty O'Neill
Yes.
Thomas
Mtv.
Key Glock
Yeah, like that.
Thomas
You should bring that back.
Key Glock
Yeah, I had the game and everything.
Thomas
Did you play Def Jam 5 from New York?
Key Glock
I still got it.
Thomas
I just beat it last year.
Key Glock
I still got it right now. Any work?
Thomas
Yeah, it's. It's such a bone crusher. Try to play me while I'm. Bone crusher. It's over. Get away. Well, you can't get past me.
Key Glock
Damn, Max. Get the growling at your ass.
Marty O'Neill
Let's go.
Thomas
Yo, I would love it if they brought it back, man.
Marty O'Neill
Right?
Thomas
Like when they brought Blitz back. Remember that?
Key Glock
They got to.
Marty O'Neill
They could bring it back. Like Fortnite. You just spawn and start that.
Thomas
Don't even start.
Key Glock
Other than I feel like it's the.
Thomas
Only game I play.
Key Glock
The Dev Jam Fighting series in Call of Duty. Only competition.
Thomas
Yeah, or like a Madden. There's nothing else that's like top. There's only three games I play and.
Key Glock
It feels so strict on a license. It's like, don't you know, like 2K had a man once before. Yeah, they had met. Not man. It was ESPN 2K5.
Thomas
2K5. Damn.
Marty O'Neill
So they hold the whole space CEO on the COVID of it of like football, video games.
Key Glock
Yeah, it was 2K. Oh, remember that EA electronic arcs. They. They bought the license, only they can use it. That's why 2K. Stop making that. Then it's why it's like. That's why they don't make NBA live as much no more. Cuz I forgot about that.
Thomas
Remember game day? NFL game. Game day. That was tight too. I had game day 99 with the Marshall folk. Oh, that was hard. And ah, the running back Dorsey Levins for that fool. Yeah, I just brought back a bunch. I'm. I don't know. I used to collect cards when I was a kid. I'd be like turning in bottles and cans and they go buy cars. That was. I still got my collection. Tom Brady rookie gold I found when I was drunk during the pandemic. Remember?
Marty O'Neill
Oh yeah.
Thomas
I mean the Blue Book says 26.5, so it's a mint. Get this. I want it in a pack.
Key Glock
Research.
Thomas
Oh, I'll show you. I'm an avid collector. This fool does psa. He's all about this, straight up. So I'm. We're really into it. Yeah, I got that Tom Brady rookie.
Key Glock
How much you think it'd be worth when I get it signed?
Thomas
When I like that. When I get it signed, 60k, 80k. Because right now it's 26. He's gone. He's over. You think more?
Key Glock
Yeah, it don't matter if he's playing or not.
Thomas
I would say I thought it'd be great. I don't know if it'd be more than that. I don't know.
Marty O'Neill
He knows something you don't know.
Thomas
Yeah, I don't know. I remember. I got it because Drew Bledsoe got hurt and I got this car. I'm like, this is the new guy? Yeah, it's the new guy. And I put it in those cases with my screwdriver. I was that nerdy ass little kid dude.
Marty O'Neill
Didn't you. Didn't you get your song in bed?
Key Glock
Yeah, let's go.
Marty O'Neill
How did that like, did you know that that was gonna happen or was that like a spur of the moment thing you found out?
Key Glock
I. I made. Let's go for like celebration purposes. Like I made there for like sports graduation. Like just whatever. Like you come out of the mood song. Yeah, I knew where it was going. I just didn't know exactly it would be on mad and 2K, but NBA Finals, I just knew it'll. You know what I'm saying? It'll be in them.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Key Glock
Yeah. For sure. For sure.
Thomas
So, yeah, like, here's some of the songs getting mad, and that's huge. But I was thinking, man, you have this career, you're going for a couple years and then you drop two songs. But like, they go stupid viral after the fact that they're dropped. It's not like it came out like. No, it just started getting used so much. Mr. Glocko, I think it was ambition for cash. Right. I don't think you can look at a real. Any. Any small business, any using this slow pan with your song. Remember that every scroll was just the. The chant over and over and over. So did you see a different, Like a change in your fan base when those two popped off online in terms.
Key Glock
Of, like, different change? I just seen growth kind of. You know what I'm saying? More of a growth than a change. Yeah. Because I always had, like, versatility of fans, like, always also didn't change.
Thomas
It's just more of those.
Key Glock
Yeah, exactly.
Marty O'Neill
Meaning, like, everybody comes up to you. Not just one demographic opinion.
Key Glock
Everybody, bro. Like every.
Thomas
The older man is the one that makes me happy. Like, hey, man, that's not judging the out of me as I'm smoking weed. Yeah. And it always makes me appreciate other people more. I'm like, I feel like I was. You're going to be a dick. And now I feel like a dick. Appreciate you.
Marty O'Neill
How would you describe your relationship with your fans?
Key Glock
They family. I ain't like they family. I. I troll them. I play with them. I like, troll. Like, I treat them like family.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
So with the feds. Sorry. With the fans of the shows. When you're doing these live shows and you're doing everything, how long did you realize, like, I'll go to the mall. I might have to get out quick. I might have to get out. Because I know. Because you know what that means. Like, oh, this will recognize me. I'm in Kansas. I'm in Oregon. And then you got to bro anywhere because you know there's a change. You see the change. You feel it.
Key Glock
Like I say 2020 when it first started to pick up night when it first, like, started off basically like 2020. It's like I land for in certain cities for sure or whatever. Like, I have fans at the baggage claim before the bag get there. Before I get there.
Thomas
Oh.
Key Glock
And like, I'm like, that's scary. The way out, the way I came up. I'm thinking, first thing I'm thinking, I'm like, who are you, the police? What the. I'm like, I'm like, Man, I ain't got. I ain't doing like. So, yeah, come try and get autographs. I started denying this. I denied this for like a whole probably year. Yeah. Because it just didn't. I don't move like that. Like, it just didn't. It didn't sit right with me.
Thomas
No, it wouldn't. It wouldn't know.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
For real either. It could be the nicest family.
Key Glock
As I'm growing up and expanding in the music world or whatever. In my head, I'm not. I'm not. I'm not getting it because I don't like, be paying attention to the fame or whatever. It's like, I like, I really just work. Do you think I'm a regular person? I don't give a. With nobody say, only difference. We might have different finance or whatever. But like, I still move and think like, I'm a regular person. And I be having to catch myself sometimes going, oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah. Cause I'd be like, like, bro, I go in any store anyway, anywhere. I don't like, I don't give a.
Thomas
Gas station in the middle of nowhere.
Key Glock
Like if I'm trying to get something done or if I gotta do it or somebody bushing, lagging, man, I'm hop out on my own and go get this, go do this. It's just how I am. But it come times I had to remember I did this. It's like I can have a whole ski, man. Some still know who I am. I'm like, yeah, this, this. I don't even this, like, because it's almost how I was raised. You know what I'm saying?
Thomas
Too much. Yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Like you don't want all that attention.
Key Glock
Yeah. Like I really come from it. But it's like, I gotta get used to this. I'm still getting used to it.
Thomas
And the other thing, I did a meet and greet and I went a state where like legal open carry.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
So the whole time I'm like looking down sign and stuff, but I'm looking down like, this is. I trust your ass. I'm trusting you right now. Like, it's. It's different, man. So for. For you especially, I see why you have to be like, yeah, God, man, I got a ski, man.
Marty O'Neill
Stressful.
Thomas
Or like I was saying, getting used to it. Because I'm from the valley, up north there's a lot of gang bangers. And so when I'm sitting like stores and fools are looking at me, I'm like, oh, come on.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
Like, yo, what's up let's watch a few. But. Oh, thank God, no. Because then you have to start thinking like, damn, you're looking at me all crazy. What the. And then you have to let it go. Yeah, yeah. So that. That's the point. 2020 is when you eventually had to let that go.
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Do you feel like you got it down now? Like you can tell like this motherfucker's looking at me, but he's definitely.
Key Glock
A hug. I can see this before they. Even before they even get out their car.
Marty O'Neill
Got you.
Key Glock
Like, I see the way before it come.
Thomas
Like, I smell that weed coming out of the car. That fool smush for sure. Oh, damn. Let's get ready for that.
Marty O'Neill
We were talking about it before we started filming a little bit, but what's your relationship like? Been with, like lifelong with weed? It seems like you're like, really about it.
Key Glock
Yeah, we connoisseur.
Thomas
You smoke hash holes, like with the.
Key Glock
Rosin in it, the donuts?
Thomas
Yeah, you know, some. You have the donuts, man. Yeah, like, I'm a smoking right now.
Key Glock
I don't. I don't like. It's up to you. It's not. It's not my preference. But I have smoked. I have smoked them. Yeah.
Thomas
Well, if you want one, go for it.
Key Glock
For sure.
Thomas
Yeah, smoke that. That's my homie's brand. Yeah. Skittles with la orange hash inside, I think. I don't know what yours one says. There's hella different ashes. Yeah, yeah. Shit's fire.
Marty O'Neill
When'd you start smoking?
Key Glock
Sorry, grandma. Oh, I was like six, seven, six. It wasn't. Let me say this.
Thomas
Which cousin was this?
Key Glock
When I first tried.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, you know, first punk. That's all right.
Key Glock
Basically. Yeah.
Thomas
Who was it? Who did it?
Key Glock
I said, star, grandma. She left her cigarette out around me. She's not thinking, I'm finna pick a cigarette up and try. Like, oh.
Thomas
I said, sorry.
Key Glock
No, it's all I'm seeing is like, I know the difference between cigarette and. You know what I'm saying? But like, they didn't smoke weed around me first off. Let me say that. But like me coming up, me seeing rappers and movies and. You know what I'm saying? And people in the house around me smoking. I'm thinking, that cool. You like to just smoke, period. I thought like, this was.
Thomas
Yeah, it's cool people, you know, So.
Key Glock
I must have picked that one day. I must have hit that moment that was so nasty. Still to this day, I probably ain't hey cigarette since. Since. But I did. I Did smoke one in Tokyo because I'm in Tokyo. I couldn't have, you know, the usual.
Thomas
Oh, damn. It's that bad out there?
Key Glock
It ain't bad out there.
Thomas
I'm just saying like in terms of trees.
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah, I respect. I with Tokyo.
Thomas
Yeah, that's what we were talking about earlier. Like I gotta go out of the country this year and I'm. I'm scared as hell to fly, man. You take edibles or anything?
Key Glock
Nah, I just, just fly out. Just flower. I don't even drink liquor. I don't drink wine, nothing. No, you just walking savage out, watch movies, hot pills. I don't take Tylenol, Advils, none of that.
Marty O'Neill
Damn, damn.
Key Glock
Like real, real, real mushrooms. No, I don't even like the food.
Thomas
I don't even like the non psychedelics. Have you ever eaten mushrooms or psychedelics or anything?
Key Glock
Yeah, I try. I tried both, but I, you know, if it's the taste that I don't like.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, it's gross.
Key Glock
I got like a, a mental thing with it. Like I, I can't finish it. I can't, I can't digest.
Thomas
Oh, damn. So you never tripped out on it? It never really hit if you didn't.
Key Glock
Nah. Cause I didn't, I didn't like the.
Thomas
Oh, dude, no, it's terrible. But Fruit Roll ups, I put it in Fruit Roll Ups and it like masked the. Because it coats. It works. It works. I put some gushes in there too.
Marty O'Neill
Would you be down for like DMT or anything like that if it pop out?
Key Glock
No, because my homeboy, my homeboy didn't be on this. Like for, for work.
Marty O'Neill
For work?
Key Glock
Yeah, for work.
Thomas
Like dmt for work.
Marty O'Neill
Like spiritual work.
Thomas
What?
Marty O'Neill
Like spiritual.
Thomas
I don't know what you mean.
Key Glock
Like, like tick work.
Thomas
They take DMT and do computer.
Key Glock
Yes.
Thomas
Oh, this is how we got AI, bro. This is those homies right here, dude.
Key Glock
Like, like real time coding.
Thomas
And they made up the Matrix. Wow.
Marty O'Neill
I would have never thought people do that.
Thomas
Yo, don't you just sit there and go to another planet. These fools are pulling it together and typing.
Key Glock
Then again, like certain drugs affect people different.
Thomas
100.
Key Glock
Like, like, like coats codeine, puts people to sleep. Like drowns people down. Like, this is my Adderall. I hate to say it. Like this keeps me going. Like it gives me a creative thinking process. Like marijuana.
Thomas
I feel you.
Key Glock
Like, like real not even trying to be funny.
Thomas
They don't put me to sleep. I just like smoking weed. Yeah.
Key Glock
Keep me going because I'll never drop. I Don't need it. I don't need now one, but it just keep me going. Yeah.
Thomas
Also like what I like, I smoke a lot of weed because I remember times I was broke as hell and have no weed. Like, man, I wish I had a joint like I was smoking in the joint today.
Key Glock
Man, when you. When. When anybody was broke, weed always been there. You gotta think about it. Weed, always. Maybe not the best weed, but weed. Weed is your best friend.
Marty O'Neill
It's good weed. Hard to come by in Memphis growing up, I would imagine. In Memphis, or not so much.
Key Glock
Nah. It's all about who you know.
Thomas
California, shipping everywhere.
Marty O'Neill
Is it still legal there?
Key Glock
Is it still illegal?
Marty O'Neill
Where in Memphis?
Key Glock
I don't think it's never been legal.
Thomas
Oh, that's not a loose state.
Key Glock
I don't think it's never been legal.
Thomas
Tense. I know nothing about that state with the weeds. I have no idea.
Key Glock
Down south. Hell no.
Marty O'Neill
Nothing.
Key Glock
Yeah, no.
Thomas
You guys have some cool gun laws.
Key Glock
Y'all get, like, paid for. We go to jail for down there. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Like, on some real.
Thomas
I always thought I'm lucky where I'm lucky as hell. I'm born and raised in California.
Key Glock
Real.
Thomas
We say it a lot.
Key Glock
Like, get caught in Memphis. Three packs, like a. A pound or two, you know what I'm saying? They finna have to sit, you know what I'm saying? 30, 60 days or more. If they can't afford no bun. Like, guaranteed in Cali. You probably get out later that night, or they probably just take it at all. But like, real talk down south, you. You'll go to jail. Probably a year or two. Like, you gonna go to. To jail. It depend on the judge, the prosecutor. No, that's sad.
Thomas
Like, hey, what's up, bro? That's up.
Marty O'Neill
That's real.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
No, because California, I put it this way. My homie got arrested right outside this warehouse. He pulled up, got arrested, and they gave me two of his pounds. They're like, just put it away so it doesn't get impounded. And I put it right here. Yeah, it's California. They really don't care about anything but guns and other drugs. We don't matter.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Marty O'Neill
So I was listening to you say that you freestyle when you go into the studio, mainly. So is it like, are you already kind of working it out in your head before you get there, or you just. You got fresh beats loaded when you get there and you go and just do it.
Key Glock
I just wait till I get there and just. Just scan through the beats. Like it really depends on what mood.
Marty O'Neill
I mean a lot of people just.
Key Glock
You both be a little bit of both. Like I don't be really needing nobody in the studio with me. It's cool people there. But I record like in the studio room. I don't even be in control. I'll be right next to my engineer. Like how we all is right now.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Key Glock
Like say you engineering just the mic, like. Oh, I'd be just like that. I'd be hands on.
Marty O'Neill
You work with the same guy like all the time.
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah. Unless I'm in another city. Yeah, yeah. Every city I go to I have a like number one engineer.
Marty O'Neill
Oh, damn.
Key Glock
Yeah, for sure.
Thomas
Yeah, I would think so.
Marty O'Neill
You ever record in GCR Audio in Buffalo?
Key Glock
No, not Buffalo.
Marty O'Neill
Okay.
Key Glock
I don't even think I've been to Buffalo. This is so too cold.
Thomas
Well, this fool's from this arctic, bro.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, you, you haven't been.
Key Glock
Is Rochester by Buffalo?
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, yeah, right.
Key Glock
I've been to Rochester for sure. I did a show on Rochester right.
Marty O'Neill
Next door, same thing. You have an announcement that's coming out next week that's going to be coming out the day that episode comes out. If you want to talk about that and promote it. We're talking about all these cities. I don't know what's going to be on there. You're welcome to.
Thomas
Totally up to you.
Key Glock
I don't even know exactly. I don't want to say the wrong.
Thomas
But you know, a city near you is what you do. Coming to a city near you.
Marty O'Neill
Come see a reform.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
I have a question.
Key Glock
Yeah?
Thomas
What was the age and what's the first car you ever had?
Key Glock
The age.
Thomas
Hey, like when did you get your.
Key Glock
First car and what was it, 18 or 19? Yeah, I was 18 or 19 and my cousin bought it for me.
Thomas
Oh, okay.
Key Glock
My cousin gifted it to me and ever since then, about 16 of them.
Marty O'Neill
Damn.
Key Glock
It's difficult.
Thomas
I'm assuming, right?
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah.
Thomas
All right, all right.
Key Glock
No, no, no, no. Two of them. I bought the same car twice.
Thomas
What? No. What is it? Is it like a van or some.
Key Glock
I bought two Maybachs.
Marty O'Neill
Damn.
Key Glock
About the sedan version in the truck.
Thomas
Oh, yeah, that's.
Key Glock
That's the rose too. I bought a the dawn in the truck one day.
Thomas
I want to be able to forget that. I bought matching rose. Oh yeah, that's right.
Key Glock
Yeah, I bought two of the same cars.
Thomas
Yo, but see, that's different though. You got like. It's like buying a high tops and low top commerce. I got this, the SUV and then the sedan.
Key Glock
Yeah. For real, though.
Thomas
That's exactly what it is. Like, if I got multiple people, I'll just take the suv. That laugh. That's a laugh. Like. Yes, that's right. All right, so what's. What's your. You have any old school cars or. No.
Key Glock
Yeah, I bought a 96 Apollo. This is like two years ago, but I just now posted it like a couple months ago.
Thomas
Would you. Would you. Did you paint it? Did you do it all up? What is it?
Key Glock
Yeah, it's like. It's like a chameleon flip flop. Like purple and orange. Like purple burgundy.
Thomas
Yeah, those wide ones, like the Caprice. The same. The same year. The Caprice and the Apollo 96 are stupid Chrome forges. Oh, you went all out on it. I just tried to re. I tried. I tried to restore my mind. Like, didn't work.
Key Glock
Like, where I'm from, like, my neighborhood, like, everybody. Like, not people my age, but all the older, older people, they wanted it. They wanted their car. Like, all the dope boys wanted the 96 Impala.
Thomas
That's popular as hell out here. Yeah, I mean, if. If you got that the grand national or the Buick Regal, that's like the. Like. Like the classic G body. They also packs or at least a couple bricks. I got that car when I was in college still. That's my daily driver. Driving out selling weed. Like, you guys know what the. I'm doing all these. Just think I'm nice or something. Not pulling me over, dude. Because this is. I'm boxing my car on the way to. Into school. In the parking lot. Yeah. No. So I know Memphis is big as hell, but it's really not like. No, I mean, it's a city, though, Mississippi.
Key Glock
But I mean, it's big.
Thomas
Sorry. Compared to. Prepare. We're. Sorry. I was gonna say, compared to where I'm from, I'm gonna see like, of 80, 000 where I'm from.
Key Glock
I don't know the population, but you can get anywhere in Memphis. Like, you can get from one side of Memphis to the other side of Memphis in 20 minutes.
Thomas
Like.
Key Glock
Yeah. Farthest thing in Memphis, like, you can get there in no less than 20, 30 minutes.
Thomas
Yeah, that's not bad at all. That's not that big.
Key Glock
Like, if you live in the suburbs or the hood, like, the airport is 20 to 25 minutes no matter where you're coming from in Memphis.
Thomas
So I've never been there, but if you got an airport, it's somewhat. It's like, you know, Somewhat small.
Marty O'Neill
It's a small enough city where you definitely gotta like.
Key Glock
It's a major city though. It's amazing.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, you gotta.
Thomas
There you go. Thank you. That. Yeah, I was digging like, dude, it's not like Fresno, right? The last city. So I was thinking if you grew up and you grew up on the same block the whole. Your whole life, like the same neighborhood, everything.
Key Glock
I grew up in the same zip, zip code. My whole. Yeah, like.
Thomas
Yeah, yeah. So.
Key Glock
So 38106.
Thomas
There we go. There we go. So I'm saying like growing up, did you guys. Well, I mean, like over here we got crazy ass games that you guys probably don't have over there. Do you ever remember, like that quarter the pencil, bro? What do you guys got? Because I have to ask.
Key Glock
Memphis is what probably the number one finessing, hustling city, bro. And I'm not just saying it because I'm from Memphis, bro. The energy and attitude we bring to gambling, bro, like, is. Is not matched.
Thomas
I believe you, like real. I didn't mean gamble. I meant the dumbass games when I was. I'm talking about like the children's games. Dumbass games we play. I see fools in high school. All right, Play bloody knuckles for 30 minutes, whoever gives up only 20. I was talking about some dumb games.
Key Glock
You over talking about money games. Yeah, I'm thinking something.
Thomas
Yeah, no, we were broke. We're broke over here in.
Key Glock
That's why we was gambling.
Thomas
Yeah, no, nobody ever did. That was like, yo, you collect some cans, bro? I never saw no gambling. We're all Mexicans. I never really saw gambling like that.
Marty O'Neill
Definitely too broke to be gam out here.
Thomas
I saw. I see gambling, but not like that. So back over there, it's. It's all those, like, don't do the cup game with those. Those folks stand outside the cannabis cups, bro, and they'll hustle all the growers for. So. All right, what's the crate. All right, what's the number one game? If I go to Memphis and I walk down the street, who am I avoiding?
Key Glock
The Cup. I ain't gonna lie. I fool with you. Don't even. Don't even indulge.
Thomas
Not at all. All right, all right.
Key Glock
Just stay away. Just say this, just say right, man, I do this same game in my city. They gonna shake your hand. Never mind. So let them know you here.
Thomas
Let's see, like in Vegas, those fools with the cards with the girls on them, those supposed to bug it. Like, yo, if you go to Vegas, just stay away from those Mexican fools.
Key Glock
With the cards pay for it.
Thomas
They're wild out there. Dude, that's. Remember I was 18 years old. Like, what is this car? Pokemon cars gave me some.
Key Glock
Oh, definitely.
Thomas
They got me. I was like, what is this thing? What the. That was my first time in Vegas. Like, this shit's real Grand Theft Auto server out here, man.
Marty O'Neill
Right?
Thomas
For sure.
Key Glock
Hey, was in Vegas stays in Vegas, hopefully.
Marty O'Neill
What's been your favorite place you travel.
Key Glock
To in the world or us? World.
Thomas
World. It's just so going down.
Key Glock
Damn.
Thomas
Damn. It's a long pause. You've been a lot of places. Yeah, up in the Mexico.
Marty O'Neill
All right. I'm in Canada.
Key Glock
I can't just pick the city. So I like the whole country. Europe alone. I with Europe alone, you must have.
Marty O'Neill
Done some real traveling because you're like, really?
Key Glock
I with Europe for sure.
Thomas
Europe's on the weed too. So that's a whole nother.
Marty O'Neill
Like a. Oh, no.
Key Glock
Yeah, Amsterdam. Amsterdam.
Thomas
Weed heavy.
Key Glock
Amsterdam lit. Barcelona.
Thomas
That Spanish, of course.
Key Glock
Even though Tokyo, not in Europe, but Tokyo, Tokyo, Tokyo. Probably my number one.
Thomas
So Tokyo was like, yo, you smoke? It'd be the best place on earth. You're saying that you've been to?
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Thomas
What's different that I heard they got crazy ass vending machines on the street. Like, what the hell? You can buy goldfish on the streets.
Key Glock
Wild. Like, like real talk. Know how? Like how we got bus stops and fire hydrants. They got vending machines in places of them, like in alleys and everything, bro.
Thomas
Oh, so it's real? Like no, It's a little YouTuber walking around the spotlight. Is that freaking real?
Key Glock
It's real real.
Thomas
So what's like the weird out there? I've seen some fools like, they sell birds in vending. They sell hell of stuff, dude. What'd you see?
Key Glock
Was it. It probably was in Japan. Pain.
Thomas
I don't know. You're probably right. You're probably right.
Key Glock
There was hella lights all through that. I ain't see no like that.
Thomas
It's like colors. Like when you get that star in Mario. It's really.
Key Glock
It's.
Thomas
That's what it looks like.
Key Glock
It's like New York in a way. It's like in New York.
Thomas
Skyscrapers.
Key Glock
Yeah. Busy. Like New York in a way.
Marty O'Neill
Where the song title come from? 3am in Tokyo.
Key Glock
It's 3am I think I was. Was I leaving my hotel room where I was coming back. But I had recorded a song and I didn't know what to name it, so I just named it. What time I was and where I was at and say, fuck it, I'm going to shoot a video too. I'm just doing what I know what I wanted to do because I could.
Marty O'Neill
Were you just chilling out there? Were you performing, recording?
Key Glock
No, I was chilling. I was. I was just chilling. Taking a little vacation just. Just to see what Tokyo was like.
Marty O'Neill
Damn. So because you travel a lot for touring, right? Like, you've done hella tours outside of just traveling the world on your own time.
Key Glock
Yeah, that's, that's, that's why I took the year break off in 2024, just to.
Marty O'Neill
Oh, wow.
Key Glock
Then they shake back, get myself together.
Thomas
Like, yeah, first summer, no work. And that's a. That's like getting out of school. And that's what I'm saying. Like, damn, I took this off.
Key Glock
Yeah, now I'm missing that.
Thomas
Oh, summer's coming back, man. We're good with the new album, too. What's up, guys? Taking a moment from this episode to talk about March Madness. First off, thank you so much to my bookie for sponsoring this episode and sponsoring the last season. March Madness starts today. So right now my bookie is doing a contest, a bracket contest, and the prize is $100,000. You have to make the right calls, climb the leaderboard, and the winner, like I said, is going to get 100k. So basically, if your bracket gets knocked out, you're still covered for the deposit bonus through the entire tournament. So don't worry. Just use our code and no matter what, you're still covered. You can bet on rebounds, three points, assists, anything you could the tip off. And remember, these are going to be boosted throughout the tournament. So these might be worth more now, they might be worth more later. Every single thing adds up. So once again, shout out to my bookie for sponsoring the dope as usual, podc. What's up, guys? We want to take a moment to talk about our latest sponsor to join the dope usual podcast and that is Day Savers. And if you can tell from the last couple Episodes. They have endless products. Every single thing you could possibly need for rolling up. Also, if you can't roll, these are going to be perfect for you. These are filler blunts. And then these are the ones with the glass tip. There's wood tip, there's wood tips with sugar. Flavored natural. There's no additives. These are fully tested for pesticides every single step. You could pot microbials. It's actually very, very cool because they're not easy to roll. Code as usual is 20% off any single thing on the site check out. Thank you so much guys. Back to the episode.
Marty O'Neill
What music you been like listening to on your free time?
Key Glock
I be listening to, man. Curtis Mayfield. Pimpsy.
Thomas
I love Curtis Mayfield.
Key Glock
Lil Wayne.
Marty O'Neill
Like what area of Lil Wayne are we talking about?
Key Glock
Well, gotcha before 2015. Okay, but who else? Pop unreleased Glock. Zo Travelite.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah. Is Machiavelli one of your favorite albums all time. It's for. It is.
Key Glock
I really don't have a favorite album of all time. I really don't.
Marty O'Neill
Was there something about that or was it just like being ironic with the Glockavelli?
Key Glock
It's a long story, but of course it's based on Pac's Machiavetti. But for myself, it's just. It just. It's just me rebranding everything. It's just a new beginning. Just new everything. Basically.
Marty O'Neill
Respect that.
Key Glock
Yeah. Rebirth.
Thomas
So what are you most excited about on this new album, man? Because at 30, I mean 30. So nobody, nobody drops a shilling no more. That's like.
Marty O'Neill
I appreciate.
Thomas
Nobody does that no more. Dude, when's the last time you heard that? 30. Even 20.
Marty O'Neill
You know what I hate? When they drip out three tracks for seven months and then you get the album and there's four skits on it. So you really got like three new tracks. I've been waiting for this damn album for months.
Thomas
Don't give me that little chicken wing. The meat on it.
Marty O'Neill
That's disappointing.
Key Glock
As a fan, I bet. I know. I don't even do skits though, so we good.
Thomas
When people up or you drop, we always compare it to. Remember when after football and you knew the Simpsons were coming on and then they didn't come. If they didn't come on, you'd be looking at everybody, you know, like, y'all, what the is happening? So that's why, like, yo, you better stay consistent, dude, because everybody's waiting for the new Simpsons episode, basically. Oh, yeah.
Marty O'Neill
You want to ask him our patented question?
Key Glock
Of course.
Thomas
Of course, man. So, yo, I made this question up one time because I thought it was ridiculous and I think I'd lose. Ready? This is the hypothetical. The 16 year old version of you walks in the door and just trying to fight you. Are you going to lose? Are you going to mop them.
Key Glock
Neither? Because 16 year old virgin me ain't even going to walk through the room.
Marty O'Neill
Jam used me lurking around outside.
Key Glock
That don't even exist. 16 year old virgin, Glock. I ain't trying to speak on it, but that he don't exist.
Thomas
I've never heard the answer. I got you. But no one's ever said that ever. Man.
Key Glock
They probably. No one ever thought of it like that. Damn, I grew up fast, bro.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Thomas
All right, well, the number one I get is like 16 year old me would have just shot me. So. No, me I always talk about because I used to be like not as fat and I used to lift weights and she's like that full. Beat my ass. And I was thinking about that's not good. If your little version of you can you. That's when it's time to get back.
Key Glock
I ain't gonna lie. Take the bridge apart off like my younger me is he. I wouldn't even deal with him. I wasn't even. I wasn't even angry.
Thomas
Well, you know what? That's the first answer we got like that.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
Glad we asked.
Marty O'Neill
You talked about growing up quick like your family now. Must just be so happy for you and how things are going.
Key Glock
Yeah. Yes.
Marty O'Neill
You're proud, that independent. You made this happen.
Key Glock
Most death. Most dear. Most death.
Thomas
So also about that I wanted to ask because I could see it and I wanted to know what's the first piece you ever bought yourself? Because that's Eliante. Correct. This right here, the. What's it called?
Key Glock
These two tennis I got from Wafi.
Thomas
Oh, it looks like this the first piece. Like first thing I just started Buying watches. Like, last year, I was like, oh, man, they're nice. It's the first time I ever looked at anything like that.
Key Glock
She's talking about was my rose chain that I bought when I dropped my first mixtape paper out clock season. I had about a rose pendant.
Thomas
Yeah.
Key Glock
Then my first watch I bought was a 5911. What is that, Patek?
Thomas
Oh, this full knows. I just started. I just realized. Yeah, those are.
Key Glock
I went all out. Yeah, I'm gonna play.
Thomas
See, because I. Because we here. He's like, water. Bought a watch on the cost of plane, and it costs a Bentley. And I asked, like, what plane watch? It's a Bentley. Oh, that's a plain watch. I didn't even think about it, man. I was trying to just, like, think about what the. You know, I'm like, you know, rappers be saying it's Malay and. But, oh, he's serious. Because I didn't even know that existed, dude. You know what I mean? Like, oh, it has to have diamonds to be expensive as hell. But, no, not. Not even the slightest.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah. Are you, like, a collector with the. Like, you know all about it and.
Key Glock
Yeah. Yes.
Thomas
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Key Glock
I. I tell. I tell Jury, you see if it's.
Thomas
Fake just by looking at the.
Key Glock
That they don't even be knowing. Well, they might know it, but once they know I know it, they'll. They'll jump aboard. Okay. I can't get this little. Yeah, he know his.
Thomas
That's why I bring my homie with me. Because I don't know what the fuck I'm saying, and I'll just shut up.
Key Glock
Thank you.
Thomas
Talk. Talk to him. Yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about, man.
Key Glock
No, I feel you.
Thomas
No. Like, it's like going to a car lot, but nobody.
Key Glock
Nobody. Like, if you. If it's your first time buying Jury or second or whatever, just don't never go by yourself. Like, never.
Thomas
Some good advice.
Key Glock
No matter where you go, no matter who the Jewel is, don't go by yourself. So Wednesday. Hey, this your first time? This your first piece?
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Thomas
And they hit, and they always give you a deal at the end. That's when you know, like, you could have dropped the 30 more.
Key Glock
Huh? You think it's a deal?
Thomas
That's what I'm saying. They think it's like, you know what? I'm not giving 10 off. Like, that means you tax me 40%, you bastard. Like, my first car, I was buying it, as I was doing. I'm like, is this a good deal? I Went by myself. I was 18. There's a little Impala, like a those little every pizza delivery guy little impala, the 2000 ones. And at the end he goes, you know What? I'm knock 2000 off for you. Oh my God. Thanks, man. Then I found out he taxed me like 6k over the blue book. But, you know, I'm a kid. They got me, dude. I don't know. It happens, dude. It happens with everybody. You gotta learn.
Marty O'Neill
I know. You said you don't. There's like, there's no features. You're kind of like reclusive when it comes to music. You're not really like a part of the industry or anything and, and how you were putting it. But is there anybody out there you love to work with? Like a producer, a singer, songwriter, collaborate with in some way in the future?
Key Glock
There is nobody like, in particular. Like, I can't answer that right now, cuz I, I, I haven't even been thinking about it. So this would be my first time thinking about it. Like I'd just be stuck.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah. You said you're a connoisseur. Like, what's your favorite? Weeds.
Key Glock
My favorites.
Thomas
Specific strains. You got favorites?
Key Glock
Yeah. Permanent marker. Oh, my boy. Do you gotta be dojo?
Thomas
Oh, you like actual weed? This post smokes weed. All right.
Key Glock
Yeah. You actually like good weed marker. I love, I love Z crosses. Certain ones though. Like all Z crosses. Don't be.
Thomas
That's your safe skills right now.
Key Glock
Yeah. And 41.
Thomas
For real, the gelatin.
Key Glock
41.
Thomas
It is a classic, though.
Key Glock
Not just a lot of 41.
Marty O'Neill
For sure. Okay, good.
Thomas
Damn, that was a long time ago when that took over.
Key Glock
This you get the right wins still.
Thomas
Oh, yeah. So it's like what the candies are trying to be. They're all trying to be what that captured like nine years ago.
Key Glock
Yeah, for sure. Yeah, for sure. Like gelato. Well, Lemon cheer is the new gelato.
Thomas
It's the new work packs that are purple. That smell. That's what LCG's like. Smell it again. I did a weed judging thing. 144 strains. 91 of those were LCG. Like I looked at him. Oh. Again, it's just exactly. It was a difference.
Marty O'Neill
Oh, all right.
Thomas
Same like it's the new blue dream almost.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
This guy over. You got by. You got £300 of it. Yes, I do. You want them? Please take them, please. Because I got a lot.
Key Glock
That's why. You got 300?
Thomas
Damn, dude, this sucks. No, I remember that the, the worst, the worst were like the Hardball. PGR Rock Purples that looked incredible. And you bust them Dust. The dusty crash. Colorado Crunch is what I used to call it. You go to Colorado, any sack, it turns just like coral turns the dust, dude. Yeah, so 41. All right, so, yeah, you're. You're a car. Sorry. And you say you took one dab only one time and that was it.
Key Glock
Yeah, that was it rising. That hit me where? You know, like, how it's your first time ever. Yeah, you're like. Like your first time ever in the backwood, you know, like the very first time. That's how the dab hit me. Like, but times 10, times 20, bro. I never got instant high. I don't like instant high. I'm not a fan of this. Like, hell no. This. This is some weird to me, man.
Marty O'Neill
Like, this.
Key Glock
Him, like, man, hold on. I sit down, bro.
Thomas
Like, yeah, you're not wrong. That is.
Key Glock
I had to. I had to lean over. I had to, like, lean my head against my knees. And I'm like, yeah, you took a hot. I was like. I was like, yeah, I gotta wait. I was like, I gotta wait.
Marty O'Neill
What was the situation? Were you just, like, chilling or did you have to do n. I was chilling.
Key Glock
Like, even if I got to do, I be like, I'd be chilling.
Thomas
Yeah. It's just weird.
Key Glock
I'm always chilling. But, like, this hit, bro. Like, this hit. I don't know if I hit it wrong or what.
Thomas
Maybe you hit it hot. Taking a hot dab will get you in the panic of, like, am I breathing right here?
Key Glock
No, it wasn't even there. I hit that, like, bro. I literally felt this go from expand neck to stomach. Like, I felt this go down. Next thing you know, that kicked in. Kicked in the head.
Thomas
Yeah, a dab panic attack, man. I. I've almost drove myself to the hospital a few times in, like, 2010 when I was dabbing a lot of shatter. I was taking huge dabs. Too hot.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
That just gives you a panic attack. And then I'm like, is this what people feel off weed? Did you ever meet your homies? Like, you serious, bro? So sweet.
Key Glock
Yeah, you know what I mean?
Thomas
You ever get homies like that? That's what a dad will do to you.
Key Glock
I don't know if it was a panic attack. I just was like, nah, this ain't for me. Like, after I hit it, though, like, once the high kicked in, like, damn, this hit, like, soon as I was done.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Key Glock
I'm like, yeah, I just blowing it up. I need to sit Down.
Thomas
Yeah, I never thought about. I don't like instant high. You're right.
Marty O'Neill
I never thought about that either.
Thomas
No, no, it's true.
Marty O'Neill
Gradual things.
Thomas
Because I'll be halfway through the dab like that.
Marty O'Neill
Oh.
Thomas
Still gotta clean this, you know, like I gotta be coherent, not burn myself.
Marty O'Neill
You're talking about manifestation and like in your info deck. That was talking about like you're really into entrepreneurship and investments and stuff like that. Did you watch the movie the Secret or read the book at all about the law of attraction?
Key Glock
I know what you're talking about.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, you might. You might like that.
Key Glock
Actually, my mother told me about that book.
Marty O'Neill
Me too. That's how I found out about it.
Thomas
Real.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, she told me about it for months and I didn't watch it. And then one the day I watched it, I was like, damn. Like, this is why she's been saying this this whole time.
Thomas
My mom showed me Billy Madison. She never showed me odb. Exactly. Every morning. For real, dude.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Marty O'Neill
That's powerful though.
Thomas
Yeah, the. Like you were saying earlier, like, don't even put it out there like that. It's true. I've got. I've gotten around to it because sometimes I'm like, you've seen that movie, the Truman Show. Sometimes I'll say some shingle. Who's listening to me? Dude, I was talking about this song comes on next this place. And then you start thinking about or something crazy happens to you. Like it's cuz I was talking about it and then that happened. I'm not gonna do it again. And then you do it as. As you're getting older. I noticed that becomes real as hell. Step on a crack. Hell no. Like, no, that's just all real, man. I don't do. I don't split poles that like that.
Key Glock
That though, like I ain't like superstitious. I don't believe.
Thomas
Oh, dude. I always feel like I'll trip right after if I don't do it.
Marty O'Neill
I try not to be.
Thomas
Oh no. Oh no. You ever seen Scary Movie Man? City Bus?
Key Glock
You can't look at like.
Thomas
Oh, that's why I always didn't go. You know what? How about I just stay on top of it because I'm alive. I've seen Final Destination. What if I start up right? Hell no, dude. I always thought about that as a kid. Like everything's a movie, dude.
Key Glock
I feel.
Marty O'Neill
But we asked Mult Guest too. What about like aliens, ghosts, Dabble at all. You got any stories?
Thomas
All your travel, nothing.
Key Glock
All the like, like ghostly, like Experiences I had. Like, I ignored this.
Thomas
Like, that's a good way to do it.
Key Glock
Act like gang or. Or here, I swear to God, full.
Thomas
Floating above you, like. But damn, the smoke is.
Key Glock
I even say it one time. I even say it one time. Do your thing. I know you here, like, read it out.
Thomas
Nah, sometime you got to build up to that. You've been like that your whole life. As a kid, I was run screaming out of room that ghosts are scary as hell. No, I don't care if they're friendly. No, no, just ignore it. That's some good advice. Honestly. Ignore it. No, for real.
Key Glock
If you can. If you can, if you can.
Thomas
In my last apartment, I told you, like, they don't pay rent. They're bugging me, and I just get pissed. I'll get out of my house and ignore it. I had some lady come through and bless my house. My. My first house, like, in my hometown that was haunted as hell. Scares 90 years old 10 years ago. Because I walk in, I'm like, hey, I stopped walking when I hear footsteps behind me. And then I hear like that, and I sit down and go. Windows are closed. Why is it. Why my curtain move? And I just feel like, you know when someone's watching you doing something bad, like, damn, I just got caught. As a little kid, I felt like that everything I'm doing, like, someone's in my house, but I know, but no one's here. I feel that.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
Oh, I had some fool come through and bless the house. He's a priest. We'll turn into a tweaker. Two years later, he's turned into a drug addict. I'm like, did he really bless my house?
Marty O'Neill
Did the ghost go away?
Thomas
The ghost did go away.
Marty O'Neill
It worked.
Thomas
I mean, it worked. But was he scoping my.
Marty O'Neill
They possessed him and.
Thomas
Oh, don't do that. That's up.
Key Glock
It's a mad thing.
Thomas
Yeah. No, for sure. But still. Hey, man, scary. So no alien stuff. I mean, out here in la gets caught on camera constantly. You don't have nothing like that where you're from?
Key Glock
No, I ain't even looking in. This guy was in front of there.
Thomas
Where I'm from, I feel that. But where I'm from is, like, cornfields. And so I'll just be.
Key Glock
Yeah, bored.
Thomas
Smoking weed, doing drugs with my friend. Like, damn, what the.
Key Glock
Is that?
Thomas
All right, never mind. See, it's differences, man. Same country, different places. Like you. You're like, yeah, I should shovel snow to go to school. Like, that's school. I ain't Doing that.
Key Glock
Dude, if it's snow, they canceling school. For us, not for them.
Marty O'Neill
Now you're risking your life half the time to get to school. Definitely to your job.
Thomas
Oh, because I know, like, Florida, my homies are from, they get hurricane. They have hurricane parties. Like, all right. For three days, we're gonna hang out together because we're stuck.
Key Glock
Hurricane party. This new to me. What?
Thomas
My homies in Florida.
Key Glock
Yeah. Oh, see? Yeah.
Thomas
We all get high, do psychedelics for three days straight. That's exactly what I got. Snowed in once in Colorado. We watch movies with music on.
Key Glock
Yeah, I can get snowing in car. That's cool.
Thomas
Like, it wasn't scary, but driving down was scary. I drove down the Rockies.
Key Glock
Leaving. I stayed.
Thomas
Oh, no.
Key Glock
He's literally in the house.
Thomas
Yeah. For three days. I was stunt with dudes I didn't really know.
Key Glock
I ain't doing this like that.
Thomas
No. I went over to, like, the house to take dads. We're doing a bunch of. He's like a hash maker. We're hanging out. He's like, yo, it's snowing. I got three extra rooms in my. Put a chair in front of the door. But yeah, I am snowed in. I trust you. And we just D3 days straight. It was sick.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Key Glock
That could have turned this situation to a movie.
Thomas
Oh, yeah. Scary real quick.
Key Glock
But everybody tripped out.
Thomas
I didn't know what to do. But hell no. I definitely push in front of the door. I do that at hotels. That fool's got keys. If you have keys, I'm definitely scared.
Marty O'Neill
You trust the deadlock.
Thomas
The deadlock. I don't give a. I put the chair and I put something in case they move it and it falls and I'll wake my ass up. I'm not kidding. I post this on my Twitter with stack with a bottle. And I don't care if I'm at the door force. I don't care. I don't care where. I'm at the nicest hotel. Who looking for you because I'm paranoid as this little knows. Remember I used to slide a rack in front of my door during the pandemic every night, this heavy ass rat. And I have my gun right there.
Key Glock
I'm like, see, it's all right there. Nightstand.
Thomas
Oh, yeah, yeah. But no. Day two of the pandemic, someone tried to kick my door in. Like, remember I told you? And it was somebody drunk as thought they were at their door on the next floor when I was in the apartment, but still scared me to death.
Key Glock
So so you wasn't in the house?
Thomas
I was in the house. I came out with my gun and everything. And the. He was all scared. And then I realized he was drunk as. And I'm like, that's the guy from downstairs. He lives right below me. He got drunk, got off on the wrong floor of the elevator. Key didn't work. Started kicking the door down. Well, I was scared as, dude. I'm like, oh, nah. Because I opened it and he was.
Key Glock
All, yeah, the door scared me. Soon as I heard the door, my.
Thomas
Dude, I didn't want to be like, hey, man, what happens if it's to.
Key Glock
Nobody bust through my. Nobody I know nobody would. Then nobody I know can even pull up unannounced.
Thomas
I'm scared, bro.
Key Glock
So that's why I was right there.
Thomas
Well, I used to Calavella packs and if you stop at a hotel, I'm gonna push in front of the door. The whole thing, right. That I'll sleep with the. Under the bed. Anyway, I'm paranoid about nothing and ghosts. For real, dude. El. My ring camera fell last night underneath my car. And I went out with my gun too. I'm like, yo, somebody said a trap like a bear or some. That like, my camera falls down.
Marty O'Neill
Oh, yeah, that is how it says the lights cut off.
Thomas
Yeah, it was recording. All the cells under my engine went. This is how. This is a movie that. And I went down. It was fine. It just fell over.
Key Glock
I'm gonna look for you, man.
Thomas
Man. And everybody's nice to me too. And I'm still like this.
Key Glock
How they get you? Be nice to you.
Thomas
Man. I'm Ray. Paranoid constantly, dude. Every.
Key Glock
Every corner.
Thomas
You ever seen Batman? You see his parents in the alley? Don't go down that alley. I'm paranoid in the day.
Marty O'Neill
I live in Orange County.
Thomas
I live in Orange County. I drop my gun at the store. Get out of here. Yo, Orange County's nice as hell. It's nice. I mean, if you come to la, guys, go visit Orange county, please. It's nice.
Marty O'Neill
Don't judge SoCal by LA. Come down to Laguna, the beach.
Thomas
Yeah, that's up. It's not on fire and everybody getting robbed all the time. Guys, I promise. There are nice beaches somewhere.
Marty O'Neill
Zero tweaker rate. Once you get past Santa Ana, there's not a tweaker in sight.
Thomas
Yeah, you're not wrong, man.
Marty O'Neill
Kids, you're chilling.
Thomas
You might be living next to a tweaker right now in la. So you. I know you're saying you're like, all right, I do Investments to do all this. Do you have property? Do you do rental property? You do any type of land buying? Because that's what I always see everybody saying.
Key Glock
Yeah, this is the common thing. But I'm not a fan of it. No, I'm not a fan.
Thomas
What do you suggest people invest in? Like right now someone's like, well, I'm working, I'm. I got two jobs.
Key Glock
Like I don't. I really don't like speaking like on my like personal investments because I don't even.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, yeah.
Thomas
And I get that.
Key Glock
You know what I'm saying? But I say anything long term, anything like natural, like anything like that. The word is always going to need basically water. Water. Oh gold. You know what I'm saying? Like that.
Marty O'Neill
Gotcha.
Key Glock
Natural resource.
Marty O'Neill
Do you get into Bitcoin and all that type of.
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah. I really treat that like a piggy bank. That's all it is. You just can't. You just can't crack your little piggy bank open too fast.
Marty O'Neill
Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
Thomas
It feels like a gamble.
Key Glock
Like if you just keep loading up what it look like it might. You know what I'm saying?
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Key Glock
That is over time that should have eventually come back or over come back.
Marty O'Neill
Gotcha.
Key Glock
Yeah. It's a waiting game.
Thomas
Did you jump into the nft?
Key Glock
Nah. I knew this wasn't. Yeah, like I literally knew that wasn't gonna last. It didn't even make sense to me.
Thomas
It's cards.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
This I'd rather get.
Key Glock
My actual cards didn't make sense or just buy art.
Thomas
I don't know. I didn't get it either.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
But no, for nft, our world big.
Key Glock
But it's not like a lot of people not like a fan of it. It's not marketed like other is. You know what I'm saying?
Thomas
No, that's true. You go to.
Key Glock
Everybody can't afford people art. Like the, the art art. Everybody can't like just really afford that. No, no.
Thomas
That's the first thing I ever bought was like a piece of art that I thought was tight. I was like, if I need to sell that, can sell it. And they go, you paid for that? It wasn't sold because nobody wanted to pay that. Oh, okay. I guess, I guess you're right. I'm like, I hope I get my money back if I sell this.
Marty O'Neill
Right.
Thomas
I don't know. I didn't know what to invest. I just like did a, like a prop rental property and we trans. My homie flew over there to fix it up. That's like the only thing I've ever tried to do. Because I don't really know. Like they don't teach us what to do with money at school. So I didn't really know you have to come just right. They don't, you know, he's got to learn from.
Key Glock
Not the right way.
Thomas
Not the right way, but not even that. Like, I don't know anybody that did dope as a kid. Like you got a rental property that's type sell.
Marty O'Neill
You don't know how to buy property coming out of school or what that means and taxes and all that.
Key Glock
Like, I mean Monopoly will teach you that.
Thomas
I just went to jail and Monopoly and lost my money. I was always last.
Key Glock
See they have a real life too.
Thomas
Like just hit this dude. I always, always land on board. Bill of. What was it? Boulevard.
Key Glock
Boulevard.
Marty O'Neill
What Boardwalk?
Thomas
Yes. My sister always got me with this. Always be the car though that. But no, just, just for the, for the purpose of like, you know, investing in money and people looking at. And obviously you are doing well for yourself. You're doing your own thing. You have your album coming out. So people are like, you're investing in all this and you're talking about certain things in terms of gaining financials, not just. You don't have to always buy a watch, you know, like what. That's what I'm trying to think. Like, what is there? Nobody ever growing up did anything for us. And now with the power of the Internet, I felt like if I was 14, I'd be balling by 18 heavily. I'd be owning a trucking company and an Amazon drop shipping warehouse.
Key Glock
If we had the, the technology and like social media was like the way it is now 27, 10 years ago, 12 years ago. Like, bro, I would be a beast. I'll be a beast. Like, I probably wouldn't be rap out. Like I just got that much of hustle in me. You know what I'm saying? I ain't even saying like on those street or not. Just, just hustle, period. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah.
Thomas
Oh, ebay stores. I'll be doing every. I told him last time. I'll be virtually collecting cans, bro.
Key Glock
I've been doing everything to get money.
Thomas
And take surveys while I'm in class. That Lunchtime I took three servers, made 35. Is it people think I can do?
Key Glock
Yeah, people should be worried about being judged on how to keep their money, basically for sure. I mean, would you be a garbage man? Are you.
Thomas
Are you kidding me? You know, work. I Wouldn't work for the city. That's all I hear about. Oh, you work in the city? Yeah, yeah, I'm a garbage disposal. What does that mean? I pick up the cans. Dude, how much you can pay? Damn.
Key Glock
I heard they get more than teachers.
Thomas
Yeah, they're like 40 bucks an hour, these fools. Because my. My wife's dad. My father in law's a. The guy that does the. That he's do the dump where you do the big crane and like flatten out the land. That full cop. I mean, you have to be at the dump all day, but still, man, hell yeah, be a garbage man. I worked at McDonald's and sold weed at the same time. Because you know, I need more money. Hell no. Do you ever. You ever have like a regular job?
Key Glock
I had a job for one day.
Thomas
What was it? Damn.
Key Glock
What was their company's car? It was a scissor company. It was like a tool company. Frisco. It was some.
Thomas
So like hardware, like hammers and.
Key Glock
Yeah, but it's like we had to put the. Put the parts together and package them.
Thomas
Oh, no.
Key Glock
Oh, this is all it took, one day? Oh, hell no. I'm trying to do my mama and grandma them a favor.
Thomas
It was a favor.
Key Glock
What, this?
Thomas
What do you mean? They're like, all right, I'll get a job. Or like, yo, I got you a job.
Key Glock
I should go, like, like, bro, I was bad as hell, bro. It's like, they didn't really ask me to do much, you know what I'm saying? But like, graduate. I. You know what I'm saying? Get a job. Everything else, little like that. So I did that little. I got that little done over. But I realized, like, all right, now it's. You know what I'm saying? Now I gotta. You know what I'm saying, Do me. Just. I just sit. Cool. I got this now, look. You know what I'm saying?
Thomas
Yeah, One day. Yeah. I worked in a. Yeah.
Key Glock
I couldn't do this.
Thomas
You know where they fill up wine in the bags? You boxed wine? The. That cheap ass wine. I made those bags. I did that for two weeks. That's depressing, dude.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
Like, your lunch is at 10.
Key Glock
I ain't got nothing against, like, having a job or getting a job, but, like, hated that this is me as a person. Like, I couldn't. I wouldn't. This didn't sit well with me.
Marty O'Neill
There's no better feeling. I'm quitting after that first day of summer. They're calling. You're just not answering.
Thomas
Out of Here. Yeah. You got the keys to open the door, man? Damn, Marty. Where'd you quit?
Marty O'Neill
Some pesticide long type?
Thomas
I was like, I quit McDonald's.
Marty O'Neill
My homeboy told me I could smoke in the truck. And so I was sold that that was not really viable.
Thomas
You took a job because you can smoke?
Marty O'Neill
I was like, sold off.
Thomas
Your human waste management. Like, I don't give a. I'm smoking blunts, right? I quit McDonald's the same place two times. The first time, they didn't notice. I left. That's how up McDonald's is. I'm the guy that doesn't me. I dropped my right there and there, walked out.
Marty O'Neill
So I stormed out.
Thomas
I couldn't take it. I remember I was sweating. I saw this girl from high school. I was like, hey, how you doing? I want to go get high. My friends, this sucks. I just left, and they called me like, yo, you were you coming in for your next shift? Like, a week later? They didn't notice. I quit. These don't care about me at all. My name, dad was on the ground. Everybody, yeah, McDonald's don't care if you die. They're like, yo, so who's replacing you, man? They don't give a. No. That was the worst. I think that was one of the shittiest jobs I had. McDonald's is not.
Marty O'Neill
Move your body out of the way.
Thomas
Just sweep me to the freezer, bro. I swear to God. Nobody even called. We've been questioned. My shit's on the ground. It's in front like, I got raptured. All my clothes just on the ground, like, what the. All right, so, yeah, she had a job for one day. I like. I like to like to ask that question. You'd be surprised on some of the. The first jobs people have, man. First job I have was building a fence around some cows. I was like, six. I did it for two, three weeks.
Key Glock
The what?
Thomas
Build a barbed wire fence around, like, all my farmers. I was just a little kid. I'm saying, like, that was the first time I was like, oh, I gotta get up. Oh, I was like six, maybe almost seven. But that sucks. Like, pounding the. You know, like, the holes.
Key Glock
Boring. Is there boring?
Thomas
That's the main thing. If it's not that boring, I think I'll be fine doing whatever. No, they didn't do me. I didn't handle that. I was doing the polls, trying to do the field. Bullshit. Yeah, shit sucks. My family's mechanics, dude. I'm the only one that can't fix a car. I Hate that. Like I don't know if you can think like that. My brain doesn't work in those car like in the engines. They're all engine like diesel mechanics. No, I'm saying like that bores me. I was looking at like, like you putting things together. I don't go to IKEA because I'm not putting together.
Marty O'Neill
Did they hold that against you, like not speaking Spanish though?
Thomas
Hey man, that's their fault that they could have taught me right in the same place as they are.
Marty O'Neill
Don't teach you how to say I'm.
Thomas
The only one that don't speak it. That. But yeah, dude, for the new Al, you got the. I mean the tour. We haven't said it yet, but for everything coming out, what's on the new. What's. What's your year looking like after this, after the tour, after everything? What's. You're not taking another year off right now, obviously. But what's your next step?
Key Glock
After I dropped this glock of it, I'm coming right back. Dropping again to makeup from 2024.
Marty O'Neill
Nice.
Key Glock
Oh yeah.
Thomas
Okay.
Key Glock
It's for my family, for the fans. Yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Like a mixtape or back to back. Like full length.
Key Glock
Just back to back. Full length.
Thomas
Well, he say you voting on 55 more. Yeah, it's damn. So and, and out of that these might, none of those might not even make it. It's what it sound like. Like you're making new every two or three. Where did those go? Man? That's like make art. Like damn, this is a good ass piece of art. Put it in the closet, I give.
Key Glock
It to another artist or it'll come out later. Like, like on this, on Glock event. It's probably three or four songs that I recorded two years ago. You wouldn't even know though.
Thomas
All the other ones are new. Brand new.
Key Glock
They're gonna be brand new to, to the world. But to me, I record them two years ago.
Marty O'Neill
How long does it take to record a song? Like days or you just half a day.
Thomas
One song I fully like completely. This was the music. I have no idea what it takes to make.
Key Glock
Who taking a days to record one song.
Marty O'Neill
Maybe go in there, lay some vocals, come back, fix some, listen to it, mix it a little bit, come back, master it another day maybe. I don't know how it goes.
Key Glock
No, I, I, I record, I record 4N. I record 3 to 5 songs every time I go to the studio. But I don't, I don't sit with them while they mixing. Master this. This something totally different from yeah, yeah. You don't have to do that right then and there right away.
Thomas
Oh, so for you. Yeah, it's mainly just the bulk of it.
Marty O'Neill
Damn. Three to four songs in a session. You're in there for like 12 hours type show.
Key Glock
I might book a 12 hour session, but it's not gonna take 12 hours, like, because I might take two hours listening to beats. It might take me an hour and a half to order food and eat the food and chill. You know what I'm saying? It's like studio. I treat it like home. Like. Yeah, I treat it like home.
Thomas
Would you consider making one at home? Like building one?
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
Oh, okay.
Key Glock
See?
Thomas
Yeah, you're already on it. That's just work, you know what I mean? Like, you have to have your office.
Marty O'Neill
At that point, so you can just record every day basically whenever you want to.
Key Glock
I do, I do.
Marty O'Neill
Do you know how to do the boards and shit? Could you record yourself if you want to?
Key Glock
This, yeah, this, this. When I first started rapping, this how I started rapping, actually. It was a program called Mixcraft. Mixcraft. It was on Windows and I bought a mic and it went from there. Learn how to record myself. And then I found out Memphis had like an actual studio, like a studio studio. And I went to that and I never, ever, ever recorded myself since then.
Marty O'Neill
Oh, yeah?
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
What age?
Key Glock
Like 14? 15. 15. 15, yeah.
Marty O'Neill
You're taking yourself down there getting studio time, man.
Key Glock
Nobody never paid for my studio time.
Marty O'Neill
Respect.
Key Glock
Ever. Until I got with paper route. Yes. Facts.
Marty O'Neill
So for years, all the way up from being a kid.
Key Glock
Yes.
Marty O'Neill
Being famous.
Key Glock
Everything, Anything in my name, I paid for it. Yes.
Marty O'Neill
It's got to feel good because nobody can circle back now and act like they got.
Key Glock
No, no. So with me, I've been like this.
Thomas
I also saw something saying that if you could. You want to be. Get into acting of some kind.
Key Glock
Yeah. I'm just saying. I'm just not gonna force it right now.
Thomas
But naturally.
Key Glock
Yeah, no, I. I got someone away.
Thomas
Oh, okay. So in the terms of acting, talking about like some dramatic, some comedy, what, what's like. I know it's like, oh, whatever's presented to me, I'll mold myself into that. But I'm saying, like, if you had a preference, what would you be doing? Because acting like, yo, you're already on stage, already doing.
Key Glock
I don't even have a preference, basically. I just. Don't you just. Well, I'm not gonna accept no road that I have. People judge me outside of the movie based on the road, basically.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, that makes sense.
Thomas
Make sure.
Key Glock
I'm saying like it's certain. It's certain. It's certain actors that people in real life hold against them because what they did in movies.
Thomas
Yeah, because people are dumb as that.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, bro.
Thomas
Like actors careers have been ruined because they were such pieces of like. That's. He's a good actor, man. That's because he crushed it. Like I was in the Green Mile. Like I got death threats for years. He had to get security. This dude that stepped on the mouse. Yeah, that fool had to get security. It was bad for him. People dumb as hell. He's getting death threats like Peter style.
Marty O'Neill
Like.
Thomas
No, I. I don't know. I mean, I mean that would be insane. People are dumb as hell, dude. People are ridiculous. No. So what? So basically when it comes and when it presents itself, acting would be something sick.
Key Glock
Nah, for sure. It's. It's the only way. That's all I can say right now, dude.
Thomas
So I mean, you're memorizing your. I mean, well, no, you're freestyling that. Do you have a hard time memorizing like the script? I did, I did a commercial once and I'm sitting there like, don't get high because then I'm gonna be like this high. Forgot everything. So I didn't smoke at all. I'm just trying to remember a paragraph. That shit's hard as hell.
Key Glock
Basically that part because it's my own. I don't have a script. I'm treating that like my music.
Thomas
Yeah, it's improv.
Key Glock
I'm going, how you feel? Yeah, I'm going as. As we roll.
Thomas
Okay.
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah.
Thomas
That's the straight improv, emotionalized acting. Hey man, some of the best. That's why I wanted to ask like, because some of the comedians are always like the best dramatic ass actors. So you know what I mean? Like, everybody's got range and so I.
Marty O'Neill
Don'T know, we just started doing like live shows. He just started doing standup at the improvs and stuff.
Thomas
Yeah, yeah. Shit's tight as hell.
Marty O'Neill
You got any tips for like dealing with nerves or dealing with four or.
Thomas
Five shows and I'll notice that I'm like this. Wait, I'm still doing Jo as people are laughing. I'm like, I'm not full. Like, hey, shut the up and watch me. The last show, some lady was texting.
Key Glock
And I was like, what the shots?
Thomas
It's not that I'm sure. I'm always like, what could am I? It's like my first times on stage, you know, I'm wind up for sure not even self conscious. It's more of like, who am I looking at? It's dark in this. I'm kind of just staring off into the abyss here. So I kind of find it weird, like if I just pick one person. What's up? As I'm looking, as I'm talking, I don't know, like for me, like you're doing a song, people are looking at you like, oh. People look at me like, hey, made me laugh.
Key Glock
I treated it. I treat my shows like the STR Club, bro. My show is different. I don't look nobody in the eye. I don't look nobody in the eye. You just got, you know, you just got. You just gotta be you. It's just, just, just let them, let them enjoy your presence.
Thomas
That was perfect. Yeah, I hate going to strip clubs with anybody but my wife, my homies. And this is kind of awkward.
Key Glock
You can't even halfway look.
Thomas
Like, what the hell?
Key Glock
You feel it? You know you can actually feel when somebody like staring at you after so long. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Thomas
It's weird. Especially strips. Like I know you're almost damn near naked. Please don't be rude to me because I don't want to be rude to you. I've been to so many. I told him one of these. Trip was trying to extort me. Me and my wife. Like a month later, I didn't got a strip dance from this. She followed my wife and she's like, if you don't give me 500, I'm gonna say everybody. You sexually harassed and assaulted me. Yeah, like, are you on drugs?
Key Glock
For sure.
Thomas
I'm like, damn. This is why you don't say anything. You just be like, oh, I'm just some. Don't talk about Instagram or nothing. Like she gave her Instagram. It's all too. So strip clubs like don't look nobody in the eye. I like that advice.
Key Glock
Don't do it. Where's from the wise?
Thomas
That's probably the best piece of advice I've gotten a minute. Don't do it because you might be going to Vegas this weekend. So I was thinking like, ah, last time I just got high in the hotel and didn't go anywhere. So definitely this week I'm going somewhere. Vegas is cool. All right. I've never been to any strip clubs outside of Vegas. Portland, Seattle, Louisiana. And that's it. Yeah, I don't go nowhere, man. I went to New York. Went which one of these tall ass buildings? I'M gonna go to strip club sleep.
Key Glock
On Portland in Seattle, though.
Thomas
Portland's. The strip club was tight. It's tight as. Come on, man. You let me smoke in there. I'm with it.
Key Glock
They do that everywhere though, right?
Thomas
Not really. I went to the Snoop Dogg's wife's new one, the one downtown strip club. Strip club. She just opened it up and I went there and I heard about it. Yeah, I went there opening weekend, right? I didn't know it was opening weekends. I'm like, damn, this crowd is a in here. I was a dance popping, like it's opening week. I'm like, all right. So I got the table and one of the girls that we actually knew, she came up. There's a smoking room. There's a room you can go in. It has tables and has a pole and you can roll as long as not blunts. They said like, it's no. No tobacco inside. But dude, they let me smoke like hash holes and blood and joints and it was tight. I was sitting there. Like, the only reason I don't like going anywhere, they don't let you smoke there.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
Cuz if I go anywhere, I'm like, can I smoke a joint? Ah, that sucks. But a strip club let you smoke too. That's like a theater. A theater that you can smoke. You'll never not have business.
Marty O'Neill
That's got to be next.
Thomas
I mean, people aren't probably fighting as much, man. I heard my homies go to Atlanta a lot.
Key Glock
You going to want to move, I can tell you, like far.
Thomas
Hey, shit's fun as that.
Key Glock
It's like Vegas and strip club.
Thomas
Oh, that shit's awesome. The first time I ever went, I was 18. I walked out, I'm like, the sun's up. This is bad. Me and my homies were Miami. Miami. I went to Miami. We didn't go to damn strip club. One of my friend's wife does not like strip club. So we didn't all go. Yeah, so we're good.
Key Glock
You didn't go?
Thomas
Why?
Key Glock
They probably saved you.
Thomas
Didn't like, is it bad there or is it like. So cool.
Key Glock
Not bad.
Thomas
So we went to Miami.
Key Glock
Enjoyable. My.
Thomas
One of my homies came back the next morning and he was damn near crying. We saw him the next morning and then he finally told us, I spent $15,000 and he's not a drug dealer or anything like that. I'm like, you your savings, fool. You spent your savings? Yeah. He's like, I canceled my cards. I said, it was stolen. Like, that's Just not gonna work.
Marty O'Neill
I went to a strip club one time. They charged me $20 for a bottle of water. And that was Marty.
Thomas
You bastard. I just need one tip. Nothing.
Marty O'Neill
I just left bootleg ass about the station.
Thomas
Was it above?
Marty O'Neill
Oh, it was right over here somewhere.
Thomas
Somewhere over there. There's a strip club right there outside of town. Where I'm from, they sell tacos outside.
Marty O'Neill
I thought that was farmland over here.
Thomas
It is. So far it is. It's on the farmland road. There's a trailer. The meat Factory and a strip club.
Marty O'Neill
Is it called the Meat Factory?
Key Glock
Yeah. Gross, bro.
Thomas
That sounds terrible. No, some Spanish. I don't know. I don't speak it. My parents. Oh, damn, dude. Oh, I got this, too. I don't know if you care, if you want to smoke another one, but that's the loose leaf.
Key Glock
Loose leaf, Right.
Thomas
That's the loose leaf. I can't remember what strain that is.
Key Glock
Say no more.
Marty O'Neill
Are you puffing all day or. Not so much on a regular.
Key Glock
Most of the day.
Thomas
Most of the day don't bong at all. You don't own a bong?
Key Glock
Hell, no.
Thomas
You ever. You ever meet somebody? But when you. Man, one day you're gonna. You're gonna feel it. You're like, oh, man, I can't believe I've been waiting so long. I promise you one day you're gonna wake up like, damn, it's nice and kind of like a warm in my house. Hit this bomb. It gets so high. You wake up like, damn, I went back to sleep.
Key Glock
Yeah, that's what bombs do, man. I. I used to with the bombs and like high school and. But I never. With the dabs.
Thomas
The dabs is different. Dabs is a whole. Another level of like.
Key Glock
I got to prepare that punching.
Thomas
Yeah. You know, no edibles, no nothing.
Key Glock
N. I don't like this. I don't care for it. Yeah.
Thomas
I mean, it's good.
Key Glock
If I can't see what I'm getting half of, I don't want it.
Thomas
All right.
Key Glock
You know what I'm saying?
Thomas
Yeah.
Key Glock
No, I can't just. Not a line. I can't just pop a pill. I can't just like. You know what I'm saying?
Thomas
You're all natural.
Key Glock
I gotta have blind. Look, I'm cool. Yeah, that's all.
Marty O'Neill
You got to be able to chill with it, basically.
Key Glock
Yeah. Yeah, you can say that, too. Yeah.
Thomas
Like, you know those power lifters, those fools. That's kind of how I am with the weed. Like, wow much.
Marty O'Neill
Can I. Yeah, I know.
Thomas
I Got a big ass glass collection. And I decided to get as high as I can and then go, damn, what the happened? That's my favorite.
Marty O'Neill
That's every episode, basically.
Thomas
Yeah, it's like my favorite thing on earth to do, man. I don't know. Watch something so damn funny that I'm like, damn. I remember when I first saw this, I was a little ass kid. Now I'm smoking my. You know that first. You know that first moment when you go home like, this is my house, you know what I mean? This is where I live. I can smoke blunts if I wanted it here. Hell yeah. Another question I asked, you said 2020. When you realize you can't. Oh, I have a ski mask and fools. You recognize me. But what's the first time? I don't know. Maybe it's like bought my mom this car. I paid my rent without worrying about next month's rent. I remember that first time I did it. That's the biggest relief ever. I felt some tear. Was that time you realized, like, hey man, this might be my path and if it stops today, I'm still proud of what I'm doing. It was, was like a certain album or something.
Key Glock
Yeah, it was my first album that really made me rap more serious. Like everybody around me took it more serious for me, you know what I'm saying, than me. So once that that paper started coming in, I started getting right, I started acting right. I switched it up. So it was what, 2018. I had bought my mama Benz. About my mama car. I like, like, no, no, no, I just, I just bought a car cash and just surprised her with it. Like this made me feel good.
Marty O'Neill
So were you doing hella shows? Was that. Were you getting.
Key Glock
I was, I was still like doing most of my shows was like locally like Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, you know, Texas, like that, the Carolinas.
Marty O'Neill
Just off your first album, you're saying?
Key Glock
Yeah, just like the first one.
Marty O'Neill
So you must have got a big response, I would imagine, just off bat.
Key Glock
Yeah, for sure.
Marty O'Neill
Online and in Memphis or both the world.
Key Glock
Yeah, for sure.
Thomas
What's the first country you went to to go perform in? Because that's a whole different.
Key Glock
I'm not mistaken. It was. Is either London or it was somewhere in the uk. I can't, I can't remember right off, but Europe.
Thomas
Damn.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
Traveling across the wall, you know, because.
Key Glock
Like you think about it. Yeah, it was either London or somewhere in Europe, for sure. I can't remember which one.
Thomas
Yeah, because like, I don't know about you, but I never left My town ever. You know I love my state. So when I actually go place my damn. These places exist. Because at first you're like pyramids. There's pyramids out here. Yeah, right. And then I was in a. We got jet skis. I don't like the water. We were in Jamaica and I we got off and went to an island where nobody was at and I smoked a joint. I swear to God I've never felt like oh the world is not just what I thought it was, man. For real was looking through the same blue ocean.
Key Glock
Nah, that's we're bigger than with what we think we think it is.
Thomas
Yeah. And then once you see go oh I can do way more than I thought I could do.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
So you traveling the earth doing all this must be so I mean like 15 year old you, 14 year old you is tripping out. So that's what I always think about like what was a little version of me, a fan of me, you know like hell yeah.
Marty O'Neill
That speak different languages. Coming up spitting your bars.
Key Glock
And they don't speak it in different languages though.
Thomas
Just broken ass English.
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah.
Thomas
Even cooler man. Hell yeah.
Key Glock
They be trying they hardest but like I with them.
Marty O'Neill
That's gotta feel amazing.
Key Glock
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Is there. Is that UK like still your favorite country over there to go to?
Thomas
Well, you were saying maybe Tokyo. I mean Japan, right?
Key Glock
Oh yeah, yeah. As far as city Tokyo. But other nations. All of Europe. Yeah, all of Europe. Just. It's just different angle.
Marty O'Neill
Well, he's going to Germany. I'm 100 Irish. I got no Germany.
Thomas
I'm scared of it.
Key Glock
Like they get. They get wild. It's gonna be dope.
Thomas
It's all weed shits legal out there. That's where I'm going.
Key Glock
They get wild. Trust me.
Thomas
I was worried about that flight, man. That's all I'm worried about.
Key Glock
How long?
Thomas
Over half a day. I know that in half a day I can't smoke weed. I can't do nothing.
Key Glock
Just watch movies and where are we? This should be like a 10 hour flight. 12 hour flight.
Thomas
I've never been on a flight longer than four. Four hours, maybe five.
Key Glock
Atlanta to Tokyo was I think how long that was. Nobody in here with me smoked out, man.
Marty O'Neill
We smoked.
Thomas
We smoked a lot of people out to where they had to leave many times, man.
Marty O'Neill
Is there somewhere that you haven't gone to that you want. Would like to go this year?
Key Glock
I wanna. Well I want to go to Bali. I don't go to B.
Thomas
Where's that?
Key Glock
Yeah, Yeah, I want to go to B.
Thomas
What the hell's over there? Is it dope? I never seen. I don't. I'm.
Marty O'Neill
I hear Wild about India.
Thomas
That's just a little kid, and he's like, yo, what's up? I only know what I see. That's me. So where the hell is Bala? You said in India.
Marty O'Neill
That's all I know. As far as it goes.
Thomas
Holy. All right. Damn. What's it at?
Marty O'Neill
Indonesia.
Thomas
I don't know. I thought you guys would know. You traveled.
Marty O'Neill
Sounded good.
Thomas
I didn't know anything. I just said I've been in Mexico. I don't speak Spanish. I was just in another country talking to nobody but who I knew. That's what that experience was. I don't know. Are you Googling it? Thank you. Where's it at?
Marty O'Neill
Indonesia.
Thomas
Let's go. This one don't know nothing about little and this will do. Indonesia. That's crazy. I know. You said your favorite movies earlier before we get out of here, though. Comedies. What's your favorite comedies or anything you or I have. I like to say this. What's a funny movie you could watch constantly? Or you're like, I used to put that on nightly because we all have a Libra.
Key Glock
I could just leave Martin ruin.
Thomas
Martin.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
The show's name is Martin Lawrence. Lawrence all the time.
Key Glock
Put this on.
Thomas
And later on, we had a. A neighbor, and everybody called her Shanae name. When I was like, 4 or 5, and I thought it was really her until I was older. I'm like, oh, that's just Martin. I was only like, four.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Thomas
Like, damn. My neighbor is. Oh, my God. When I lived in front. That's the only thing I remember about Martin, dude.
Key Glock
So did it. Did your neighbor look like she named it?
Thomas
She totally looked just like her. She had. She looked just like her. Now that I'm older, like, that was a dude that's kind of up. Everybody was calling her that.
Key Glock
So your neighbors.
Thomas
I'm saying she just looked like she named. I was four. I'm like, oh, that.
Key Glock
So I'm saying, so your neighbor was born a man.
Thomas
No, she was just a girl.
Key Glock
So she was ugly.
Thomas
Yeah, that's what I was saying when I got older, I'm like, that's up. Knowing now that Martin was playing her. I was a kid. I didn't know. I just thought there's some ugly as the girl that always did nasty.
Key Glock
Yeah. Yeah.
Thomas
My mom and dad watched Martin all the time. So, you know, that's all I know about Martin Lawrence.
Key Glock
So look who your favorite Martin character.
Marty O'Neill
It's got to be just Martin Lawrence. I've been living in the shadow.
Thomas
The whitest man ever. I've been living in the shadow.
Key Glock
I mean, I don't know what a.
Thomas
Choice of words you.
Marty O'Neill
I saw Run and Tell that in the theaters. I know that.
Thomas
I remember when that came out. I was like, what does that word mean? You go, oh, gotcha. I didn't know what the. I was a little kid, man. I know slings. I grew up. I remember many nights doing drugs, but I remember one of the few DVDs I had was Killing Them Softly with Dave Chappelle, of course. And then Delirious and Raw. Do you ever watch Eddie Murphy?
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
And the purple suit. Also, like, who the was like, yo, dog, that looks great. You should wear that for your special.
Marty O'Neill
Like Rick James.
Key Glock
Come on.
Thomas
Yo, you're a dick. That's exactly who said it. He dresses like Rick James. You're right. Without the tassels and. Wow, Marty. I never even thought about that. I've been thinking about my whole life. I still have those DVDs you took.
Marty O'Neill
Rick's whole with that.
Thomas
You're not wrong Party all the time. Dude, that's a good song. He made a whole album, didn't he? Did he make two albums? Eddie Murphy?
Marty O'Neill
I don't know about that.
Thomas
Are you serious?
Key Glock
Oh, no, no. Jamie Fox did.
Thomas
Jamie did the best. That man is so damn talented. That can impersonate anyone.
Key Glock
It's like when I was younger, bro, and Jamie Fox made music. I ain't know if he was being funny or serious. Yeah, that's what I'm saying, though. Like, when I got old, I'm like, oh, this was dead serious.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He. I think he was a singer before. An actor. I could be wrong on that, but no idea he. That he's been doing that before. Yeah, like he was pitching his music.
Key Glock
Yeah, that's probably why he had it.
Thomas
One of the random ass questions, especially talking about Jamie Fox. You see those conspiracies online? Do you see any of this? Like, in the middle of the night?
Key Glock
I feel like should just be popping.
Thomas
Up right in the middle of my.
Key Glock
Why do I.
Thomas
Why do I know this? Why do I want to know? So it was like, you see that Jamie Foxx. Oh, this is a clone. This fool got sick. Now he's close. I saw that. Did you see the movie that came out right after that? He did.
Key Glock
She came out before, didn't it?
Thomas
I don't know. The clone Tyrone movie.
Key Glock
This came out before.
Thomas
Oh, I thought that was just a promo. I thought they were like, damn. I thought it was like maybe just being a promo. Did you watch that movie? That was crazy. At the end I'm like, he lost me.
Key Glock
My thing is like where they begin the ideas and thoughts to even put this in scripts.
Thomas
Somebody really did it.
Key Glock
Hey, you should do this sick out here to really just. Just out the blue think of this into. Right.
Marty O'Neill
It's your homies with the DMTs that are might be.
Key Glock
Let them horror writers, they do it.
Thomas
I started thinking that when those hostile movies came out when I was a kid. That's like I'll dark too dark for me. I don't watch that kind of.
Key Glock
Yeah, what kind of.
Thomas
Remember that movie Hostel?
Marty O'Neill
Start sawing the girls like hell no.
Key Glock
All right, like you don't like gruesome.
Thomas
I just don't like. It's like I can watch people shoot each other, but it's like, damn, you just kidding out that innocent person. I can't watch this. That's why I watch that murder mystery. Yeah, but just tell me if you caught him. You didn't catch him. Why the we watching this? He's still out there. What you doing is scaring me. I don't watch any of that.
Key Glock
Did you. What's the dude, Jeffrey.
Thomas
Jeffrey Dahmer. I ain't watching.
Key Glock
You had to. You know who I'm talking about.
Thomas
No, I didn't watch that.
Key Glock
You had to.
Marty O'Neill
I watched it.
Key Glock
Even if you didn't watch it, you know what he was doing?
Thomas
Oh, I know. He ate. Eating people.
Marty O'Neill
He ate people.
Thomas
That's what that's.
Marty O'Neill
That was this thing.
Thomas
I thought that's what he did. I don't know enough, man. I have no idea.
Key Glock
I don't remember that part in the movie.
Thomas
I could have swore he was.
Key Glock
That he had in the freezer though. Yeah, he had parts. He had parts in his freezer refrigerator.
Thomas
Yeah, so.
Key Glock
And matter of fact he did because he fed. I think he fed something to somebody to his neighbor.
Thomas
Did you watch it?
Key Glock
That don't move me. That.
Thomas
I listen to brother. Lynch hung every single day. I am desensitized, dude. Yo, one of the only rappers that ever said the craziest. Everybody went, yeah, I love that. Jesus Christ. It's like a Saw movie with a beat, bro. Yeah, he goes into some horror rap. Yeah, gore rap, man. That was wild.
Marty O'Neill
So it's been around since 95. I mean, damn.
Thomas
For real? X rated. Just got out of prison. His brother that was in prison forever, like the Horror rap, like Necro from New York and Ill Bill. Those are hard though.
Marty O'Neill
You put me onto that. I didn't know that existed.
Thomas
Hey, man, there's a niche for a lot of stuff and if you like it, you like it. I just. I'm good. I'm good on that. Do you listen to any. Any type of like oldies or any rock or anything at all?
Key Glock
I play a lot of old school music all the time. I was just listening to Slick Rick before I came here.
Thomas
Slickery. I got one album. One album. I usually collect CDs and. But slick Rig, I got a lot of spice one. I like spice one. It's. It's like, you know that 90s rap, but it's still hard as.
Key Glock
Yeah, it's just this raw. It ain't all the way mixed. Yeah, Yeah, I like this.
Marty O'Neill
It's analog. I'm not sure it was before the computer.
Thomas
Probably like the Federation album. E40.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Thomas
You can hear like, Dan, Someone made that at home.
Marty O'Neill
Well, it was different. Like we. Our awareness was different. We didn't have like. Like you. I feel like artists were almost a little bit more authentic back then because they weren't tapped into every artist in the world.
Key Glock
It's like you don't see what nobody is doing. Exactly. See it in person.
Marty O'Neill
Exactly.
Key Glock
Or through a magazine.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, yeah.
Key Glock
TV. You know what I'm saying? Look, MTV, BTS and back then Source. But now you got. You got 50, 000 platforms. Where can see you at?
Thomas
On the radar is putting out people I've never seen every. Every week. Not in a bad way. It's just like, wow, there's the access. It's overload access out here. That's what I'm saying. If I was in school, I'd be chat GPT all my work and selling weed to everyone online. I'd be up right now. Kids right now have crazy access. I'm not saying to do that.
Marty O'Neill
No, I know. I'm trying to tell my. Try to tell my kids about that. I'm like using chat GPT and stuff.
Thomas
Like, don't do it. You're gonna be dumb, man.
Key Glock
Somebody was just talking to me about this. Somebody like he was using that to. To text girls. I'm like, bro, it can't be that serious.
Thomas
What? Yeah.
Key Glock
Yes.
Marty O'Neill
That's where it stops. You gotta draw the line.
Key Glock
I'm like, bro, tell he ain't gotta.
Thomas
Do that like all at once or some. That'd be kind of wild. Oh yeah.
Key Glock
This is like. Is this his thing? He just.
Thomas
He's a hacker. He's also most of the ladies, man, you know? Yeah. You never know. I'm trying to hack this brain right now. I'm trying to mouth.
Marty O'Neill
I have 95 likelihood she's gonna like this. If I say get this.
Thomas
Hey, man, Chat. GG does everything but feed you, dude.
Marty O'Neill
There's gonna be a rapper soon, right? AI rappers is going to be a real thing.
Thomas
Oh, that's just probably already here. What do you think about, like, that has to be here. AI rappers.
Marty O'Neill
A fully digital dude. That's like.
Thomas
Or not even that. Just. Hey, man, I don't know what to do. So let me just make a song. What's the best song about this? That's not fair.
Marty O'Neill
Or use it to, like, I need to be in this style at this bpm, at whatever. You know what I mean? Like, just have it. Just dial in exactly what you want.
Thomas
Oh, that's a little weird.
Marty O'Neill
I don't know if I like, it's gonna be there. I'd give it like two years. Probably it'll be like commonplace.
Thomas
I don't know.
Key Glock
Yeah, it's a good thing. And then again, it is. I don't know. It's all about, like, how you use it really. I guess, yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Have. Do you, like, utilize it in any way for music?
Key Glock
I don't use it at all. Well, in music even, like. No. No, not at all. Hell no.
Marty O'Neill
On the back end, like, scheduling emails. Like, there's so much it can help.
Thomas
That's just hard to figure out. I still can't.
Key Glock
Me personally. No, I don't. No.
Thomas
Yeah, I did the other day. I was like, man, I'll be so fat at this age. Like, damn. This is a personal trainer. That's.
Marty O'Neill
That's where it's like.
Thomas
That was actually pretty.
Marty O'Neill
It can act like an attorney, you know what I mean? You want to give him the.
Thomas
Oh, yeah. Full set of contracts.
Key Glock
That's the thing. You can get it to do anything.
Thomas
That's cool. What does this mean?
Key Glock
My thing is who created this?
Marty O'Neill
That's a good question.
Thomas
Skynet from Terminator.
Key Glock
No floor. For real. Like, who. Who created this and how. What's functioning in this AI system? Like, where's this brain?
Marty O'Neill
Where is it?
Key Glock
Where.
Thomas
Like, where's this warehouse coming from under a field.
Key Glock
How do. How do we know to answer this? Like, this media.
Marty O'Neill
Nobody's asking that. Really? Nobody gets that.
Thomas
They're also that.
Key Glock
Like this. There's some different.
Thomas
But we also love you, AI. You think you're real cool. You got to be nice to your robots. I used to call Syria dumb. And then I went, you know what? Maybe one day she like. Remember that time you called me a dumb? 80 days in a row, man.
Key Glock
Bro, these folks said two. What? It was two AI phones next to each other. And they let them conversate with each other. Right? Bro, the went on for like 18 hours.
Thomas
Ew. What was the conversation about the world?
Key Glock
This was. That's like. This was crazy. You know what I'm saying? Like, they just. Each phone just back and forth conversating with each other. Only the. The AIs, though, and they talking about world population, all that. Oh, yeah.
Thomas
I don't trust that. No, that's like the ghosts creeping on me.
Marty O'Neill
Basically.
Thomas
Someone's listening to me right now.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah. Nobody gets what AI is, how it works, where it lives.
Thomas
She terrible.
Marty O'Neill
None of that type of that's.
Thomas
That's AI.
Marty O'Neill
But like, if you were to ask it, like, it'll give you its opinion on, like, the arc of your career. And, like, very specific. That doesn't exist online anywhere. It gets real creepy.
Key Glock
That's what I'm saying.
Thomas
Also, last night, you ate a bowl cereal 914. Like, get out of here. No, trust that.
Marty O'Neill
Oh, it's gonna sync up with your Amazon and real soon.
Thomas
It does.
Key Glock
It's like, it does this. People use that. Like, they ex this. They wouldn't ex nobody. Like, they wouldn't. They don't have the confidence to act like the next human being so they'll chat. GBT that.
Marty O'Neill
It's true.
Thomas
We're turned to a Black Mirror episode.
Marty O'Neill
Did you watch that Black Mirror?
Key Glock
I know. I know of it, but I didn't.
Marty O'Neill
That's a good.
Key Glock
I know. It's a series, right? Yeah, yeah.
Marty O'Neill
Every episode's different with the same theme.
Thomas
Yeah, we were kids that Very Scary stories had like 30 different stories. Remember those books? That's what Black Mirror is for adults.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah.
Thomas
It's just scary as hell, yo. It's a trip. Most that shit's real. Like, they put drones on these criminals make them do. If they don't, all their personal stuff gets leaked to these authority. It's like, yo, every single thing you're doing is real as hell right now. That's scary. All from AI for one computer. You only have. Fools are fighting with drones in other countries with just a computer or a little joystick right now.
Key Glock
Call of Duty.
Thomas
Yeah, I should see that on real life, too.
Key Glock
That's what I'm saying. You can pull your little pad out, send a drone right there. This. They should been in video games. That's what I'd be saying.
Thomas
Like where they get it.
Key Glock
The they putting moves and games like this ain't this either because it's thought of or already done before or I.
Thomas
Think they're trying to put it out. Like, don't be scared when we bring it out for real. So watch this movie a little bit. I think that's what they did with aliens. They're like, don't get scared. And then like, by the way, this shit's real as well. Last year, remember they said aliens are real.
Key Glock
Nobody gave a And they just stopped popping up out of nowhere.
Thomas
Nobody cared though. Everybody's like, yeah, aliens not even getting Tick tock's getting shut down. So we're more worried about that for real.
Key Glock
Again.
Thomas
It is again. It is a Truman show, man, all over again. Except the Truman show is mad at you.
Marty O'Neill
There's people out there that bought iPhones with Tick tock on them for a couple thousand dollars for that week.
Thomas
Isn't that crazy?
Key Glock
Real talk. So now you can re download it?
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, yeah.
Key Glock
Damn.
Thomas
It's back. It's already back. It was back a week later.
Marty O'Neill
You don't seem like you type of guy that's like sitting on social media scrolling all day.
Key Glock
I don't even have a Tick Tock.
Marty O'Neill
Oh no.
Key Glock
Well, I do, but my.
Marty O'Neill
It's probably like a topic or some on there.
Key Glock
Yeah, I don't be on it though. Every time I try to stay out.
Marty O'Neill
Of social media, whenever I post anything on Instagram, when I go to hit the song to add music every time. Key Glock Let's Go is the number.
Thomas
One recommend that was more viral than more memes. It was used every day. Every day.
Marty O'Neill
I like that you were like deliberate with that. You're like, I knew that one was going to be like an anthem for like.
Key Glock
Yeah, it's like as soon as I heard the beat, it's like, I ain't even say nothing. I just said, man, put it. I went straight in and did it. Took probably like 30 minutes.
Marty O'Neill
Damn.
Key Glock
Probably 20.
Marty O'Neill
But is that like your biggest global song? Would you say one of them?
Key Glock
Yeah, one of them. If not the beast, it's that sample.
Marty O'Neill
You're good at identifying those real catchy samples to bring the melody in with the beat.
Key Glock
I always listen to old music. That's where they come from. Like most of the time when it's a sample, it just come from something I done heard. Like when I was younger, like when my grandmas or aunties used to play it some like that.
Thomas
Yeah.
Key Glock
Yeah.
Thomas
That's where I always get the. The best. I mean that's why I asked about the rock. Because that's all my mom played when I was a kid.
Key Glock
Yes.
Thomas
Now growing up like damn. That's a sample that should sail from this. I can hear right here.
Key Glock
Yeah. For real?
Thomas
Yeah. And my grandma all doo wops. I know all the doo wop. The old like 50s. Snap your fingers. All that. The Motown. Yeah, that's I think my favorite music.
Key Glock
Some going to kick in black.
Marty O'Neill
Okay.
Key Glock
You gonna. You're gonna have some of them memories kick in.
Thomas
Nice. Dude. I was just like little Anthony. The Imperials is like my favorite as a little kid. Like the little. That little group. I don't know, man. I used to watch, remember like order now. 17.99 you'll get. That's what I call music. Remember? That's those commercials as a kid.
Key Glock
What's this? Kids Bop?
Thomas
No, not kids, Bob, but for adults. Kids Bop for adults. They used to sell like those records like for all the old people. My grandpa bought all that. That's why I knew all that music. I just listened to CDs all day.
Marty O'Neill
Did you read the magazines?
Thomas
No. When I was a kid. I was a little kid. So I mean I have it now. He passed down all that to me. But like that's all I watched. I mean we had the Internet as a kid. When I was a little kid, we didn't have.
Marty O'Neill
What was that? That was like the east bay of CDs every come every month warehouse.
Thomas
Yeah, yeah, for sure. It's supposed like we talking about.
Marty O'Neill
Yeah, I used to have that. Mixtapes, physical copies and bootlegs.
Key Glock
And now we had.
Marty O'Neill
We had them still in that era a little bit.
Key Glock
Cd, dvd.
Thomas
I remember growing up, Netflix was this DVD that came every day, every week. Like that was like oh, I'm pretty.
Key Glock
You remember Red Box?
Marty O'Neill
No.
Thomas
Yeah.
Key Glock
What happened to this Streaming Blockbuster.
Thomas
Blockbuster was.
Key Glock
And Red Box came after Blockbuster streaming.
Thomas
It's like I got eight movies without having to go to the store. This guy hasn't returned this movie in a week.
Key Glock
Yeah, still waiting for this. Took over just entertainment period.
Thomas
Yeah, that and it's like who touched this first?
Marty O'Neill
Right?
Thomas
What movie is this? Now it's in my house. That's what I always thought I was a killer. Nasty bro. The. Is that sex scenes in it? What happened to this? But yeah, but yeah. Key Glock
Nah, it's not. It's not possible.
Thomas
Yo. Fools are putting up.
Key Glock
Just. Just prepare yourself. Prepare yourself. Take it how you want it. Prepare yourself.
Marty O'Neill
Ominous. Yeah, like that.
Thomas
