With Hayley still missing, Klaus takes a hostage from each faction to put a pep in their search efforts, while also identifying the guilty faction. Really puts a damper on Mardi Gras float building! Meanwhile, Freya heads to Mystic Falls to warn Hope she might be a danger to the world, and also get gossip on Hope’s new crush Roman (who we do not trust yet). The stakes of Haley’s kidnapping are raised when a wooden box arrives to the compound, containing gruesome evidence and a coin with a surprising symbol. Well… this is certainly an episode! We see what Elijah has been up to since he made the dumbest decision of his life, just to see that erasing his memories was actually the dumbest decision of his like SO FAR. He heads to one of the literally 4 cities he is not allowed to be in, and learns he is not the only vampire on earth after meeting a girlfriend. She has a secretive family and odd way of life, perfect for a boyfriend with no critical thinking. We catch up post time jump in Manosque and see Klaus try to get his brother back, while Elijah breaks his heart. RIP to Elijah stanhood it was fun while we knew thee!Remember to rate, review, and share, brothers!Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @doppelgangerspodcast!

Following Hayley’s disappearance and Rebekah’s rejection, Klaus and Marcel return to New Orleans. Klaus reluctantly reunites with Hope, and the damage to their relationship is palpable. Even worse, there’s a weird untrustworthy dude from the Salvatore School at the compound! We are introduced to the beautiful new seer Ivy who, guess what, thinks Hope is dangerous. Meanwhile, vampires and werewolves work together to decide a verdict for Henry, but their decision doesn’t last long. Hayley’s captor is revealed, but then she goes missing AGAIN. Last and certainly least … Freelin breakup???Remember to rate, review, and share, brothers!Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @doppelgangerspodcast!

Seven years later and New Orleans is finally at peace! But everyone can feel the winds of change coming in, at least partly thanks to Hope who is now a teenager. She kicks off the season with a truly bad choice, but hey, whatever gets your deadbeat dad’s attention. Elijah is indeed off in France with his memories gone, but that definitely did not work to keep the siblings separate because, duh. But there's something more exciting happening in France, which starts with a K and ends with a LAROLINE!! Marbekah has been having such a happy time in NYC that Marcel is ready to propose, which I am sure we all think is going to be a layup. But of course, plenty of new characters are here ready to experience the kind of stress that only the Mikaelsons can bring to New Orleans, because did you really think they’d stay away?

It’s finale time and time for Vincent to reveal his unpopular plan, and he was right to be worried about how the Mikaelsons took that news. And he does try his hand at the strategy we suggested last time: lying! The Hollow tries to begin her reign with an old friend by her side, but, as it often does, hubris rears its ugly head. As the team gets ready to defeat the Hollow, everyone feels a pressure to resolve their issues. Some apologize, others break apart, others just don’t answer their phone for no good reason. We end the season not knowing if we’ll all be back in New Orleans again, but at least we get to revisit Mystic Falls. Finally, we revisit the short season and all the things we liked, didn’t like, and what we would have wanted to see!Remember to rate, review, and share, brothers!Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @doppelgangerspodcast

Spoiler Note: For anyone unspoiled, we discuss the end of the show from 1:18:50-1:21:01 - tread lightly! We did it, everyone - we made it to the end of season 7! As a reward, we get this pretty great finale. Bonnie continues to hunt everyone as they scramble to get into the Armory. With the help of Enzi making himself a target and some adorable little witch siphons, our team can get into the Armory to destroy the final Everlasting and (hopefully) avoid the mysterious evil entity. And yet, no one seems that urgent or concerned about the evil entity … huh. Stefan and Caroline finally work things out (and kick Ric to the curb). But it’s not all happy! Damon makes the selfless decision to go into the vault and stays there after mysteriously hearing Elena’s voice. Enzo follows, taking them on a new adventure, killing a lot of people for mysterious reasons. We also debrief about a season we haven’t been particular fans of, and pitch how we would have fixed it. We also look ahead to season 8. Remember to rate, review, and share, brothers! Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @doppelgangerspodcast!
