And if she fails to find it, fails in her quest to keep her beloved Order from following Tamsyn down a dark path, it could spell the beginning of the end for Kyra - and for Asiana. Members Reviews: Markswoman, blades, clans, and more! "The right thing is rarely easy to do. In fact, that's probably an excellent way to choose your course: What's the most difficult and thorny path of all? And then take that one." Kyra GREAT story! Markswomen, Marksmen, camels, deserts, blades, magic, what more could you ask for?! Betrayal, loyalty, faithfulness, courage, this book has it all and will only get better as the trilogy unfolds! This was such a great read and more than kept me on the edge of my seat like a Jason Bourne movie! Some are claiming there isn't too much romance, but I think it was perfect. It wasn't the center of the story. A different love story. One of family. Mothers. Fathers. Vengence, redemption. Loved Rustan. Loved Kyra. If you enjoy books like the Hunger Games and Divergent, there is a pretty good chance you will love this book! Bring on Book 2 and Book 3! The only negative thing I can say is I want this in a hardcover format! =) Good Story! *Original review on Goodreads & My Blog* I absolutely love the cover of this book. I loved the summary of the story but it was just okay to me. I love the idea but it didn't hit home for me unfortunately. But I do believe plenty of fantasy lovers will fall in love with the book Happy Reading! If you are a fan of this genre of writing then you will enjoy this tale The story is set in the Lovecraft/Cthulhu universe. It is very descriptive, well written, and the setting is well developed. Title: Rubberman's Cage Author: Joseph Picard Narrator: Matthew Mann Format: Unabridged Length: 9 hrs and 43 mins Language: English Release date: 01-04-18 Publisher: Joseph Picard Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Fantasy Publisher's Summary: Lenth grew up in a lie. Apparently, there's more than five people in the world. Four brothers live their lives in an enclosed habitat as directed by the silent Rubberman above them. When they disobey, they get shocked. This is normal. It always has been. But when a brother dies, they learn of death. When he is replaced by someone new, they learn they are replaceable. When the ceiling above the ceiling cracks open, Lenth plans a journey beyond the known universe: A third floor. Up. Members Reviews: A cautionary tale In Rubberman's Cage we have the story of Lenth. Now I happen to hate that name for a character. The story explains it was Length but everyone got too lazy to say the g. Okay I guess. It's Picard's dystopian world so he can do what he likes with the names of his characters. Still hate it. Lenth lives in a controlled environment with his three Brothers (Picard's capitalization, not mine), and above them through a grate lives the Rubberman. The Rubberman never speaks. He stomps on the grate to get their attention, and shocks them when they don't do as they are supposed to, or don't follow their routine. They eat, exercise, work, shower, and sleep. That's it. All in their tiny little three room world. But one day when their Rubberman isn't directly overhead, someone peeks his head through the ceiling in the Rubberman's room, above their grate, and Lenth figures out there are more than four people in the world (is the Rubberman a person?) and there is more to the world than just the Brothers' rooms and the Rubberman's rooms. The story goes on as Lenth manages to escape his world and explore the world he never knew existed. With his isolated history he is, in many ways, like a small child. He's never seen a female and doesn't even know they exist. He can't read. He doesn't really know anything. But he's curious and he's eager to learn and explore. Oddly, considering the world around him, he is allowed to. I won't go into much more detail because I don't want to spoil the story for you. I will say the book wasn't what I expected, although I am not sure what I expected. It turned out to be sort of a coming of age story of a grown man, combined a morality tale, and with a cautionary look at what our future could become. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't love it. I'm not even sure if I liked it. But I will say it was interesting and it left me thinking, so all in all, not too shabby. Great read Well this was an interesting find! Purchased it on a whim because it sounded intriguing and I loved it, couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the second book. Interesting and peerless Interesting and peerless, the story is a master craft which the author had put in his imaginations creatively. The story of the four brothers is quite sad, adventurous, fearless and risk based. Everything was exciting, from knowing the entity behind ther prison type cage up to exploring the world behind it. I was so contented with it had though of it for a while after reading. A sort of coming-of-age story. Entertaining and dare I ... A sort of coming-of-age story.

Title: Heart of Stone Subtitle: The Alastair Stone Chronicles, Book 7 Author: R. L. King Narrator: Will M. Watt Format: Unabridged Length: 12 hrs and 29 mins Language: English Release date: 12-14-17 Publisher: Magespace Press Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 12 votes Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Fantasy Publisher's Summary: Strange attractions.... With Jason and Verity in southern California, Alastair Stone quickly discovers he misses his best friends and favorite confidants far more than he expected to. It isn't long, though, before he's got some new matters to occupy his mind: a student who may have fallen under the influence of a magical cult leader, and a budding relationship with a sexy, intelligent, and stunningly beautiful woman who's everything he never dared to dream of. As his connection with his new lover grows ever deeper, Stone is drawn into a dangerous web of dark magic, an ancient, malevolent grimoire, and plans within plans that could lead not only to his own destruction, but those of his beloved and his student as well. Pursued by a terrifying duo who are immune to magic, Stone must unravel the purpose of the grimoire and defeat a powerful enemy before it's too late. But what will he do if he's forced to choose between his own student and the woman he loves? Members Reviews: FANTASTIC! Very good plot. Dr Stone fell in love. The romance was lovely but there were problems. Will M Watt narrated/performed very well and brought the characters to life. Jason and Verity, good friends who come to aid him to fight the villain. Full of action and excitement. I hope there will be more books to come. Worth a credit. Great story, well narrated What did you like best about this story? We get to see the romantic side of Stone in this book, but it's the loyalty of his friends that really shines through. The lines between 'good' and 'evil' are thoroughly blurred in this story, leaving you to question the motivations of several characters until the truth is finally revealed. Any additional comments? I'm a huge fan of this series, and hearing Mr. Watt bring the characters to life is a real treat.

Title: The Traveling Chaos Subtitle: Evian Rising, Book 1 Author: Latravious Calloway Narrator: Terri Nicole Format: Unabridged Length: 1 hr and 23 mins Language: English Release date: 12-13-17 Publisher: Audible.com Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Fantasy Publisher's Summary: Set in a time when humans and extraterrestrials first made contact, making the universe truly connected.... In a bid to retain the devotion of their subjects, the gods unveiled the interworking of Qi, a divine source of energy. Numerous creatures gained the ability to harness godlike power, thus ushering the entire cosmos into a period of extreme violence and chaos. One god, Mudarar, sought to conquer the universe and bend all creatures to his will. He gave thirteen of his chosen subjects almost unparalleled access to Qi and free rein to spread havoc against anyone who opposed his will. Those thirteen Disciples waged war against various planets in the name of Mudarar and ruled the defeated lands. Evian, an almighty combat genius, is the only real threat to Mudarars dark plot of universal domination. Her goal is to defeat Mudarar and bring an end to his reign, and her method is simple: destroy every one of his Disciples until she gets to the god himself. Members Reviews: A Cosmic Captivation!! Per what I read it evokes an emotion for action. I say this because the message draws on certain life paradigms and current world condition. A "rising" indeed!! Lovely work frat! Keep going! A Lesson in Love Evian Risingâs creator seems to have the corner market on lavish love letters in the form of a martial arts fantasy/anime mashup. His journey is crafted upon a sculpture of feminism that is both timeless and modern, broken from the mold of diversity, mythology and vengeance. The magnetism of the main character comes from her decisive nature. Itâs up to you as the reader to decide whether the ends justify the means, but I can appreciate the storyâs attempt to demonstrate the power human charisma can have over blind faith. The protagonist is both blunt and empathetic, similar to the likes of Salt or Lara Croft, and sheâs just as mysterious. If you're a fan of mangas like Naruto or Fairy Tail check out Evian Rising Calloway is a talented storyteller and artist. He's created a believable futuristic world that provides readers with a new type of hero. Looking forward to seeing what happens next in Evian journey. If you're a fan of mangas like Naruto or Fairy Tail check out Evian Rising. If you enjoy reading sci-fi this is the book for your collection. Most importantly if you've been waiting to read a story with a different type of hero this is the book for you. Evian Rising doesn't disappoint. A Win for Women of Color Evian Rising is an amazing read. The characters are unique and engaging. The story: compelling. So many characters of color are forced to struggle within societies where the color of their skin limits them. Evian Rising is an amazing story where that doesn't matter. She's not rising above her station. She's creating her own darn station. I loved every moment of reading this, and you will, too. Fun Story. Good Artwork Fun storyline and good artwork. What more do you need? Can't wait for the next chapter.

Interesting story This was a very creative look at the world after death. The book is filled with interesting characters. The only thing I disliked about the book was its lack of editing. It was filled with with errors; this often distracted from the flow of the text. Wonderful imaginative story Wonderful imaginative story. I enjoyed reading it and I think kids and teens would like it. Great characters, perhaps a little "Harry Potter-ish" with the snake and the special abilities the kids have.

Title: Glass Town Author: Steven Savile Narrator: Steve West Format: Unabridged Length: 12 hrs and 39 mins Language: English Release date: 12-05-17 Publisher: Macmillan Audio Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Fantasy Publisher's Summary: Steven Savile is an international sensation, selling over half a million copies worldwide and writing for cult favorites including Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Stargate. Now, he is finally making his US debut with Glass Town, a brilliantly composed audiobook revolving around the magic and mystery lurking in London. There's always been magic in our world. We just needed to know where to look for it. In 1924, two brothers both loved Eleanor Raines, a promising young actress from the East End of London. She disappeared during the filming of Alfred Hitchcock's debut, Number 13, which itself is now lost. It was the crime of the age, capturing the imagination of the city: the beautiful actress never seen again and the gangster who disappeared the same day. Generations have passed. Everyone involved is long dead. But even now their dark, twisted secret threatens to tear the city apart. Joshua Raines is about to enter a world of macabre beauty, of glittering celluloid and the silver screen, of illusion and deception, of impossibly old gangsters and the fiendish creatures they command, and, most frighteningly of all, of genuine magic. He is about to enter Glass Town. The generations-old obsession with Eleanor Raines' unsolved case is about to become his obsession, handed down father to son through his bloodline like some unwanted inheritance. But first he needs to bury his grandfather and absorb the implications of the confession in his hand, a letter from one of the brothers, Isaiah, claiming to have seen the missing actress. The woman in the red dress hadn't aged a day, no matter that it was 1994 and she'd been gone 70 years. Long-buried secrets cannot stay secrets forever. Hidden places cannot stay hidden forever. The magic that destroyed one of the most brutal families in London's dark history is finally failing, and Joshua Raines is about to discover that everything he dared dream of, everything he has ever feared, is waiting for him in Glass Town. Members Reviews: Cue the Action Steve is a pal of mine so let's get that out of the way. I have heard him talk about Glass House as something special, something he had labored over and was proud of. I eagerly awaited its release so i could see for myself. What we have here is a crime novel, a family drama, and a supernatural yarn all freshly wrapped together so it feels new. The tropes are upended and he has found new ways to intrigue us with mysteries and the sesrch for eternal love, and eternal freedom. This is a good, solid read with strong internal logic making everything feel right. If there is anynflaw is that Josh's famiky is under-developed, notably his sister Lexi. It would have deepened tuujbgs a bit and raised the stakes. But, that is a mere quibble. I was very disappointed though. I was really excited to read this because the premise was so interesting to me. I was very disappointed though... I think I only made it about 1/4 of the way through the book before I finally had to give up.

While I love the series, Harlow has never been my favorite character. I'm happy to report the plot was good, and I may end up liking Harlow with a bit more exposure. Lam was an interesting--and welcome-- addition to the storyline. Good short story 3.5 Stars! Good story, fast read full of action and pnr goodness. I enjoyed it a lot. Very different from the typical pnr storyline. If you like mermaids Itâs a great read. To sum it up itâs a combination between romance, supernatural and who done it. I highly recommend.
