Post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE) is classified based on the time between the traumatic brain injury (TBI) and the onset of seizures. The two main types of PTE are early-onset PTE and late-onset PTE.Early-Onset PTEEarly-onset PTE refers to seizures that occur within the first week after the TBI. These seizures are typically caused by a direct injury to the brain or by a change in the brain's metabolism.
