Phil Robertson
Ready?
Si Robertson
I guess. I guess.
Phil Robertson
Hunter, start that clock and let's just see what happens.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Welcome back to the duck call room, ladies and gentlemen.
Phil Robertson
We've been going through it.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, man, it's life.
Phil Robertson
Life's been a toughie.
Jase Robertson
We've got a special guest with us.
Phil Robertson
It's an easy special guest we had. You know, we've lost Phil, we've lost Uncle Joe. So let's bring in Phil's best friend and Uncle Mac and we'll just work through all of it together.
Jase Robertson
Bring in Phil's.
Si Robertson
There you go.
Jase Robertson
Bring in Phil's best friend and Joe's brother. Yeah, yeah. Who, by the way, I. I would like to commend you before we get started on what you did at your brother's service. Unbelievable.
Willie Robertson
Well, thank you.
Jase Robertson
Heck of a job.
Phil Robertson
Heavier tone in here than the last few weeks.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, well.
Phil Robertson
But we're gonna have fun today.
Jase Robertson
And we make a living sort of, kind of. It's not a very good one, but it is a living of making people laugh via a variety show. But I think it's good also to know that life's not always butterflies and rainbows, even for us. You know, there's a lot of people out there that say, you know, I'm sure it's easy for y' all. Look what y' all got. But. But the same things that happened to y' all happened to us, it just so happens to us right now. It's happened in the past three weeks. Like, I mean, it has just been one shell after another. Which is fine because, yeah, that, that is what happens in life. But we have the hope that gets you through it. Right?
Si Robertson
Here's what happened just happened to me. It's oxymoron okay.
Willie Robertson
What'd you call me?
Si Robertson
No, no.
Willie Robertson
Oh, okay.
Si Robertson
I said, it's the oxymoron, and I may have mispronounced it all.
Jase Robertson
Oh, you got.
Si Robertson
I was sitting there when y' all started talking. I'm saying, okay. I said, this is so weird. I said, because this man is a master carpenter. Yeah, okay? My brother couldn't square nothing if you know what. Never. Okay? And then it's all about the real carpenter.
Willie Robertson
Amen.
Jase Robertson
There you go.
Si Robertson
The one that created all this, okay? And then lived short, 33 years on this earth, and he became flesh so we could get our hands on him and murder him, okay? He died for what I did wrong, okay? As I was guilty, as I don't get out. And everybody else in this room, same deal. He died for them also, and the rest of the world. So that's why we're here, okay? I just lost my brother, Phil Robertson, the man known as the Duck Commander, okay? But I can't quote you to tell you where it's at, but I can tell you what it was about.
Jase Robertson
I bet this guy can.
Si Robertson
You know, Paul said, okay. In a lot of his writings in the Bible. I don't want you to be ignorant like the rest of the world, you know, I don't want you to grieve like they do, because you're not in the same arena as they are, okay? And that's the thing that. My faith in that statement and all the rest of the Bible is what keeps me going, you know?
Willie Robertson
So when you said that to, people come up to us and say, hey, hey, I lost you. You lost your brother, or you lost your friend. And I'm like, oh, we didn't lose them. We know where they're at.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no. See, that's the thing that they don't understand, because I'm a mama's boy, okay? And I'm proud of it.
Jase Robertson
Amen.
Si Robertson
I loved her to death, okay?
Willie Robertson
Yeah. Boom.
Si Robertson
People said, what are you going to do when she dies? You know? And I said, well, if you'd asked me that you years ago, I wouldn't have been able to tell you. I said, but it's very easy. I said, death is nothing but a change of address. I said, number one, I know where my mother went. I know who's waiting there for her. She's surrounded by those she loves and that those have gone on before. And I said, boy, you talking about a party? I said, you know, they said, when one comes back to Jesus, there's a party going on. In heaven. Well, I always look at it when it's storming and just got the thunder crashing, the lightning flashing, you know? And my kids asked me when I had my youngins, okay? They asked me, what's that noise? I said, they're having a party in heaven. I said, some sinners just come back to the house. Don't come back home.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. We are imperfect men following a perfect.
Si Robertson
Sin, made perfect by the chosen one.
Willie Robertson
Amen. Why would. Hey, you know what? It was a pretty big risk that he took on us, Si. To choose us. I'm like, are you sure?
Si Robertson
No, no.
Jase Robertson
It was not the smart bet. It was not the safe bet. Let's put it that way.
Si Robertson
No, I don't even have the words what he. He. He took. But every time I look in the mirror, I just go, I can't believe that you're still with me.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. And we laugh about that because it is almost actually funny. It's comical that he would choose us.
Si Robertson
Well, it's so bad, okay?
Willie Robertson
We were so bad. That's what the problem was.
Si Robertson
Well, you know, that's what people. They don't understand. Jay. Done a good lesson, I guess, two weeks ago. The Father's for you. The Son is with you. And the Holy Spirit indwells you. Lives in you. You really. You stupid human being. You don't really know what that means, or you would. You wouldn't be doing what you're doing.
Jase Robertson
Look, I just heard.
Willie Robertson
When you said that. I just heard Phil say, you idiot.
Jase Robertson
Idiot?
Si Robertson
No, no.
Jase Robertson
Idiot.
Si Robertson
I use that word a lot. Cuz they said, oh, here we go with the idiot again. Then they look at me and say, why have I got to be idiot? I said, because I'm one.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
And I said, we are all one.
Jase Robertson
Guilty.
Si Robertson
Big dummy. I said, hey. I said, you know, I said, I just don't get it. Here's a person, okay? And I'm big on t H e M a n the man.
Jase Robertson
That's two words.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, well. Really split that up.
Jase Robertson
Whatever.
Si Robertson
But. Okay, because, look, I was just. I was having one of my nights, y' all, and I'm. I'm sound asleep, and I hear, wake up. I got something to tell you. And it was, hey. The man that hung the moon, the sun, the stars. People don't realize. I said, hey, yeah, let me repeat that. I know. The man that hung the sun, the moon, the stars. And not only that, his power sustains everything you see.
Willie Robertson
You know, that's interesting that you say that, Si, because most of the time, or many People think about God the Father being the one that created everything. But it says in John that everything that was made was made by, by and through Jesus, right? So. And then it says, he's the Word, right? And so I love that, because all God the Father had to do was say the Word. All he said was Jesus. And then all of a sudden, things start. It was like, boom.
Si Robertson
No, no.
Phil Robertson
Hunter just adjusted his earphones.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Mac turned his down. Those were here.
Si Robertson
Realize, okay, Father is a spirit, Holy Spirit is a spirit, but when you come to the Son. Okay, hey, you've come up on something. Okay.
Jase Robertson
Some would call it life change.
Phil Robertson
Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
Si Robertson
Because. Because you look and. And I. I'll tell them because the phrase I hear most often when I leave it. Well, uncle said, I just can't see this God you're always talking about. And then I look and I go, go, I pity you, sir or ma' am. I said, because I can't go anywhere that I don't see him or I can't look. I said, open your eyes and clear your mind and look at creation, for crying out loud. And I said, look, we're so sorry, okay? And Jesus has made it so easy for us. He's gave us, done everything and then given all of it to us. I said, hey. I said, it's personal. I said, you don't understand because you've never seen him do anything. I said, here's where the Roberson family has been blessed beyond measure. What the Bible would say. He showed us. Kids have come to us that are dying of stage four cancer. This rotten person says a prayer for this kid, and God, in His infinite mercy and love and forgiveness, says, wham. And it's gone.
Willie Robertson
Amen. Amen. Here's the cool thing about that.
Phil Robertson
Are you excited?
Willie Robertson
What you just.
Si Robertson
What are you talking about?
Willie Robertson
What you just said is what it says in First Corinthians that He now speaks through. Through us, as we were his ambassadors.
Si Robertson
No, no, because, see, that's what. Yeah. Do you. Do you just. Did you hear what he just said? This is the Creator, and He treats us as an ambassador of his.
Willie Robertson
You know what ambassadors do? They speak on behalf of the One who sent them.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
So we're now speaking on behalf of, as Phil would say, the Creator of the cosmos. And he trusts us. Can you believe that? He trusts us?
Si Robertson
See? That's what I'm saying.
Willie Robertson
Okay, me and you can start preaching to each other right now.
Jase Robertson
I'm going to have y' all back more often because I Ain't got a whole lot to say.
Phil Robertson
I'm gonna go to the bathroom.
Jase Robertson
No, I'm just gonna watch this. Yeah, this is good.
Si Robertson
Yo.
Phil Robertson
Let me tell you something about Pure Talk.
Jase Robertson
It's pure.
Phil Robertson
It's a win win way to talk. My wireless company, Pure Pure Talk, a veteran led company, believes every man and woman who has faithfully served this country deserves to proudly fly an American flag.
Jase Robertson
Amen.
Phil Robertson
That was actually made where in America. Thank you, Toby. Waving a flag somewhere right now. And that's why Pure Talk is on a mission to give an allegiance flag the highest quality American flag. Who size worked with before to 1,000 U.S. veterans in time for Flag Day. And the U.S. army's birthday has. Hey, we're right there in the middle of it. I wear American flag swimsuits, tank tops, hats, bandanas. Cuz this time of year I like celebrating with a hot dog and fireworks. And you know what makes me extra excited? When a company like Pure Talk saves me a little money so I can buy more fireworks.
Jase Robertson
There you go.
Phil Robertson
With plans from just $25 a month for unlimited talk text and plenty of data, you can enjoy America's most dependable 5G network while cutting your cell phone bill in half. The average family. Saving over $1,000 a year and supporting that cause I talked about earlier is easy because you can switch your cell phone service in like 10 minutes and keep your number. And when you do that, you'll be providing high quality flags to deserving veterans. They've done so much. They're my cell phone company. It's just, it's a win, win, win, win, win. Veterans win. You win. Why not win?
Jase Robertson
Yeah, let's just win.
Phil Robertson
America wins.
Jase Robertson
Veterans.
Phil Robertson
Just go to PureTalk.com duck to switch hassle free in as little as 10 minutes. Again, that's PureTalk.com duck to support veterans and switch to America's wireless company, PureTalk.
Jase Robertson
Well look, we got Mac in here. And look, Obviously the first 20 minutes have been the most honor to feel you can give him is to keep sharing the message.
Phil Robertson
Did we, did we preach the gospel?
Jase Robertson
Only about seven times in 20 minutes. Which is great, right? Because that's.
Si Robertson
Oh, I love it.
Jase Robertson
That's the same thing Phil would have done. Phil. Phil took the verse in Peter where it says always have an answer for the hope that you have.
Phil Robertson
He had it.
Jase Robertson
And, and he always had that answer. Now he may have avoided the second part of that a little bit. Do so with gentleness and respect. But gentleness wasn't necessarily his M.O. now he was I would then sometimes, but he. It was out of respect and he gentle. Was a little, would be a little.
Si Robertson
No, no, it wasn't that. It was out of order.
Jase Robertson
It was.
Si Robertson
This is orders from headquarters, Jack.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, from headquarters, but we brought.
Si Robertson
Your blood is not going to be on my hands. Because, hey, when the day comes, y' all, you going, they going, God's going to hit you with this. Hey, you remember that crazy old bearded man I sent you?
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
For 50 that spoke to you about the Father, Son and holy spirit.
Jase Robertson
For 51 years, if you ran into Phil Robertson, you heard the Gospel whether you wanted to or not. I got heard it.
Si Robertson
And I got up this morning feeling down, wore out, old.
Phil Robertson
Well, now, hey, you seem kind of fired up.
Si Robertson
I'm about 18 years old right now.
Jase Robertson
Oh, man, look at there.
Willie Robertson
Hey, I just got. I went to the hospital last week and they checked my heart, man. And they said, they said, you have the cholesterol of a 20 year old. You know what I said? Give me some bacon.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
Hey, hey, you know, I will say one thing. You know, I'll never forget going with Phil when he said, Owens.
Phil Robertson
Owens.
Willie Robertson
I think, yeah. You know, I knew him for almost 40 years. He never called me Mac. One time in my life, my name is Owens.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
So he said, owens, I think somebody's running our hoop nets out there. Well, what are you going to do? He said, oh, we going to talk. But when he said that, he picked up his Bible and his Browning 16 gauge.
Si Robertson
16 gauge automatic. That's right.
Willie Robertson
And so that Browning to be sitting across his lap, but he'd always pull the Bible out first. But I tell you what, you know what I loved about that? He was like, you boys don't have to steal from me because you are stealing from my family right now. But if you need some. Something to eat, I will give you some fish right now.
Si Robertson
I come home one on leave, yo, and he was telling me, he said, well, he said, you're not gonna believe. And I said, what's going on? He said, well, I tried it my way with a 16 gauge shotgun, you know, scare the H E double L out of them. He said, that didn't work. He said, now I can't kill him. That's against what I believe, he said. So I tried it God's way. And I said, what are you talking about?
Willie Robertson
But he still carried his gun with him.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Oh, ain't no doubt.
Si Robertson
No, no. He didn't go all the way. He didn't go all the way, y' all. He Said he said, you're never going to believe what this about. I said, what happened? He said, I heard him down there. I heard a boat coming, motor stop. I said, that's about where my net, that.
Willie Robertson
So.
Si Robertson
He said, I grabbed my gun, my Bible, just got in the boat, go out there. Sure enough, they're running my nets. He said, all right, boys. When he pulled up, he said, look like somebody's got a fish fry going, going. He said, how many go? How many? Well, how many is coming? You know, these guys are looking at him. Their eyes are getting big because he's got this shotgun in his hand as he's talking. He said, hey, I asked you a question. How many is coming to the fish fry? 10, 15. And then, hey, he got over in the boat. They only had the fish or no. He said, hand me that net. They rolled the net over there and he got it out yet. So he just started taking them out, throwing them in the boat. He done threw 15, 20 fish in the boat. He said. He said, what? 15, 15. He said, oh, you better add another 10 because, hey, when they smell that grease, you know, hear that grease. He said, there'll be 10 more show up. So he threw about seven or eight more fish in there. He said, boys, now I'll leave you with this. He still got that shotgun. He said, you don't have to steal it. He said, you come up here and knock on my door, I'll come down here, get in my boat, come out here and run these nets, give you the fish you need for the fish fry. He said, then I'll reset my net. Where to catch fish? He says, see, that's the thing you don't understand. You take the fish out and just throw the thing back in the water. Well, then I'm sitting here and it ain't fishing. And that's how I'm feeding my family with it.
Willie Robertson
That's right.
Si Robertson
He said, I ought to go ahead and blow you away until you do the fish that you. Let's face you.
Phil Robertson
Can you imagine that approaching you while you're doing something nefarious in the woods?
Si Robertson
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Phil Robertson
Martin sent me that. That is that exact gun.
Jase Robertson
That's his shotgun.
Si Robertson
That's his 16 gauge Browning.
Willie Robertson
Look, I mean him were going down the second slough one time and he's just wide open with that. 35, you know, and he's got that 16 gauge and a duck. I can say this, since he's gone now, that ducks coming flying back up.
Si Robertson
Up, up, up, up.
Willie Robertson
We're going Down. And he. Look, he never took his hand. He took one hand with that 16 boom. I said, now that's a man that can shoot right there.
Phil Robertson
That's unbelievable.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, can't prosecute him now.
Willie Robertson
Well, hey, one of my favorite sayings was he said, owens, when we get to heaven, it's going to be virgin timber. And he said, ducks, no problem. No limits. And guess what? No game wardens.
Si Robertson
No game wardens.
Jase Robertson
Oh, that's what I said yesterday. And that when I said if Joe Oliveris made it, which I didn't know Joe personally, and he. He may be there. I don't. I don't know. I said, but don't you know if he is. The first thing he did was walk. How'd you do it? Yeah, how'd you. How'd you do it? Well, tell me. Tell me how you did.
Willie Robertson
I would love to see that reunion because he was mean as a snake.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, tell me how you did.
Si Robertson
What was that they put up on screen was Phil got to heaven. And he said he was greeted by.
Phil Robertson
12 million angry ducks.
Si Robertson
He was met by 12 million angry mallard.
Jase Robertson
The Babylon B posted once that, oh, no, Phil Robertson gets to heaven, is surrounded by 12 million angry ducks.
Willie Robertson
Well, hey, you know, and I love laughter because, you know, and Phil did to everybody that I know, I can't think of a common denominator, but all the people that I love, they all make me laugh. And when I think about Phil and getting surrounded by those angry ducks, now that's something to laugh about.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, that's what everybody in the comments was like. That's too soon, too. So I'm like, man, y' all didn't know Mary.
Willie Robertson
Mary Post.
Jase Robertson
There you go.
Willie Robertson
The other day. There you go.
Phil Robertson
That went.
Si Robertson
Look, he looks scared.
Willie Robertson
He does look scared.
Si Robertson
He looks scared.
Willie Robertson
Well, Mary posted a thing now that yesterday somebody given her. And it's a picture, an AI picture of Jesus and Phil. And Phil meets Jesus. Look in the comments now, no lie. Somebody said, is that real or AI? I said, no, it's real. Jesus came back yesterday.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, he came back for the photo op. And then we, you know, we. He went back, though.
Si Robertson
That's how I imagine.
Jase Robertson
But absolutely, it was real.
Si Robertson
Never go to heaven. You never go to heaven alone. You've got an escort.
Willie Robertson
Amen.
Si Robertson
Okay? And, hey, it ain't no doubt in my mind that Jesus has favorites, okay? And one of them is our military people that give their life for other people.
Willie Robertson
Amen.
Si Robertson
Oh, trust me when I tell you they're walking hand in hand. With Jesus. Tell me. Hey, let me. Come on, let me give you a tour. Grand tour.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. Rarely would he stand but for a good one, someone might dare to die. But Jesus died for us when we were at our worst. Worst?
Si Robertson
Yes. Oh, good grief.
Willie Robertson
Actually, it says there. It says when you were his ungodly enemies, that's when he said, I'll die for you.
Jase Robertson
Ain't that crazy?
Si Robertson
That's crazy.
Willie Robertson
I wouldn't have done that, Mark.
Jase Robertson
Well, no, I mean, as a human right now, think about. Everybody's got somebody they don't like, right? Or just you don't jihaw with. And the fact if somebody said, you got to take a bullet for that man living in today's world since crucifixion ain't necessarily a thing, you'd be like.
Si Robertson
Hard pass.
Jase Robertson
No. Nope. Not doing it. Like, I'm not. So the fact that he willingly. Not only did he take the bullet, so to speak, he toted it. He toted the gun. Like, you know, I mean, he. He didn't take the bullet. He toted the gun to the place, like. And. And that is wild to think about that kind of love, which.
Willie Robertson
Well, that's what he told Judas, what you just said. He said, do what you came to do.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, do it. I know what you're here for. Do it. Like, do it. And when he could have stopped it all, he didn't. And. And again, that is the.
Si Robertson
That. That's the thing that gets me because, you know. You know, I don't remember who preached it now, but it was all Mike Kellett. Peace, purpose, and power. You don't realize the power that Jesus Christ has after his death and burial and resurrection. After he was resurrected, they had been asking him when he was alive, by what authority are you doing this? Well, he gave them his answer after he was resurrected from the dead. Hey, dudes, guess what? All authority in heaven and on earth and everywhere else has given to guess who? Yours truly, me. Jesus Christ.
Jase Robertson

Willie Robertson
You know, sigh when you said that I think about Pilate said that he said, you know, I could. I could take you and you don't even know what I could do to you. It could be so bad. And Jesus said this. You have no authority except what my father has given you. Oh man, what a line.
Si Robertson
Oh no. That's why okay, I loved it when yo you know, Noah's asking the Lord who shall I say sent me? He gave this answer you tell them I am sent you. Well, guess what? When the son showed up they got to asking him all these questions, y' all. What did he say? I am the way. I am the life. I am the light. I've heard that before.
Jase Robertson
That's back there in that first book.
Willie Robertson
I love it when Cy scares himself, you know what I'm saying?
Phil Robertson
He gets startled.
Si Robertson
Back to the power. I think the most powerful thing the human race has come up with so far is the nuclear bomb. Hey, look, compared to what power Jesus has available, that would be like the smallest firecracker we could ever make.
Jase Robertson
Bleep. It'd be a snake or a sparkler.
Phil Robertson
Now, the one of them that you throw on the ground and it pops.
Willie Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
When you spit under toilet seats can.
Si Robertson
Raise a dead person.
Phil Robertson
Thank God he can.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, and thank God. Thank God he did.
Si Robertson
And he will.
Willie Robertson
That's right.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
He holds the. He has the power to hold everything under his control. That even means when a nuclear. When that thing splits and blows up, he said, oh, no, I just pinched that off. No, it ain't going.
Jase Robertson
Let me put that out. Just like putting out a cigarette. Hold on. Let me put.
Willie Robertson
That's right. Putting that.
Jase Robertson
Let me put that out real quick. It'll be all right. You know.
Si Robertson
Oh, I don't go there.
Willie Robertson
Hey, look, you know, when you're talking about, you know, Judas and Peter say. I mean, Jesus saying, do what you came to do. So he betrays Jesus. But then Peter basically does the same thing. There was two different responses. Now, they both. It says they wept bitterly and they were remorseful. Both of them. Here's the difference. Judas took care of matters in his own hands. Peter said, I gotta find Jesus. And then Jesus sets up an encounter with Peter. I love it. Because when Peter betrayed Jesus, he was standing over a campfire. How many times you stood over a campfire? And you know that smell. And every time you smell it, then all of a sudden your memory goes back to other fires. Well, Jesus sets up an encounter to bring Peter back. Guess what? Over a campfire. I don't think that was any coincidence. All of a sudden, now Peter runs, gets out in the water, swims ashore, gets there, and Jesus got that fire going. What do you think? The first thing Peter thought of. Oh, and I betrayed him. That smell. Oh, everything came back to him. But, you know, Jesus didn't leave Peter there, and he doesn't leave us there. He says, I'm going to bring you back home right now. Come on. Do you love me? No, really. Do you love me? Come on. And in that moment, Peter was broken and said, I'll. I'll never do this again. And I will die for this man.
Si Robertson
Well, see, that's why when I hear people talk about it, you know, I even had one guy tell me one time, well, if he was the Son of God, he didn't even feel nothing they'd done to him. I said, you stupid idiot.
Willie Robertson
You were very theological.
Si Robertson
And I said, you stupid idiot, you missed the whole point.
Willie Robertson
Exactly.
Si Robertson
That's why when I got on this D man kick, I said, you just missed it all. He gave up deity and became a human being, for crying out.
Phil Robertson
He was in where we all long and hope to be. He could have just sat there and he came here. And if anything I've learned in the last month is that this place can suck.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Willie Robertson
Well, it says you're right, and it says.
Phil Robertson
And he came and joined in it and said. And it sucked for him sometimes. His friends died. Lazarus died. And he didn't weep for him. He wept for the people around Lazarus, you know, and he chose to do that. He chose to. Everything you're going through, he chose to take it on with you. And he chose to come here and live out this thing for 33 years and just go through the suck that is earth.
Si Robertson
Because they describe it, the know it alls.
Phil Robertson
I got to preaching that.
Jase Robertson
You don't. But you done banged a pulpit. Everybody going, vintage feet.
Willie Robertson
I started sweating when he was going over.
Si Robertson
Yeah, but crucifixion is supposed to be, according to the experts, the most horrible, painful death there can be. Well, I know this. If you're nailed to a wooden cross. Okay, I have breathing problems. That's why I carry this stupid thing around. My own fault, by the way. I smoked too many cigarettes.
Willie Robertson
Winston's?
Si Robertson
No. Hey, I got. Well, that dessert. Yeah, but anyway, okay, back to okay. If you're gasping for breath, it's scary. It will scare you because you're trying to get more oxygen in your lungs so you feel all right. You can't do it.
Jase Robertson
Been there.
Si Robertson
Well, hey, think about being nailed to a cross. Been spirit in the side, okay? And you can't. You know, you're hanging there by your flesh and bones.
Jase Robertson
Well, just for a way that we can all think of how bad it hurts when you hit your thumb with a hammer.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no.
Jase Robertson
Now, forget hitting your thumb with a hammer.
Phil Robertson
I don't do that.
Jase Robertson
Have the nail go through your hand, like with somebody hammering. And that ain't even with today's hammers. This was with something. Somebody tied together a rock and a Piece of stick. Like it ain't. It ain't a maul.
Willie Robertson
And it wasn't a polished nail, either.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, yeah. It wasn't sharp. By no means. I mean, it took some.
Si Robertson
Probably get there.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. And then you just. Then you're there like it's rip. I mean. Yeah, there's. I.
Willie Robertson
Shot my hand to a board one time with a nail gun, and that hurt. But you know what? It was over that quick, but somebody pounded it in with a. Yeah. Just laying there, beating it with a big stone hammer.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. And it was. Your nail was sharp.
Phil Robertson
And he chose.
Jase Robertson
And polished. Yeah. And he just laid there. Not. You know, not laid there, but you know what I'm saying. He did not fight it. He. He took it.
Si Robertson
His last words. There's a man that's hanging there because of what I did wrong.
Jase Robertson
And can you imagine? You said, you're a mama's boy.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
I am, too. I know John David is. Max still wears sleeves around his mom to cover up his tattoos. So I'm assuming by that admission. So is Mac a mama's boy? And you're going through that and you're sitting there looking at your earthly mom.
Si Robertson
Like the one that bore you.
Jase Robertson
The one that got you here. Yeah, the one that got you here is sitting there watching you, and you're looking at her. I mean. But yet all you want to do is run from the man. All you want to do is run. You don't want the accountability that's involved with saying, I need you. It's so simple, which is what we talked about yesterday, that's what Phil delivered so perfectly every time, was the simplicity of the gospel. And that's why he affected so many people, because he kept it simple. We can get in there and we can study and we can scholarly. Hebrew this and Greek that and all the things.
Phil Robertson
I only speak English.
Jase Robertson
Me, too. And I took Latin, so. I mean, I took the language. When you were forced to take a language, I took the one you didn't have to speak. You know why? Because I barely got a grasp. Grasp on this English one. I didn't want to have to work on another one. But, hey, but in that fact, we tend. No, we don't tend. We do over complicate it, which is something Phil never did.
Willie Robertson
Well.
Jase Robertson
He never made it more than Jesus Christ.
Willie Robertson
Very simple message.
Phil Robertson
And that's why God said, watch what I'm about to do from the mouth of Cypress Creek.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Which makes.
Jase Robertson
With a fisherman 0 and a duck hunter and who refused to have a phone and for 28 years, as devilish of a person as there was on this earth.
Phil Robertson
And he told more. He, like, when you really think about it, like, the amount of people that heard Phil Robertson say Jesus died for you, like, he. He might. Well, like, is there Billy Graham? I have more.
Jase Robertson
Nah, I don't think so.
Phil Robertson
Like, at this point in the world, he might hold more people the gospel than any other human being on earth. And that doesn't make any sense because he didn't even have a cell phone to take a selfie and do it. He couldn't get on TikTok and say, Jesus loves you. He just did it from down there somehow. And it doesn't make any sense sitting.
Jase Robertson
In a recliner on the bank of the river, which is so Box of guns medicine. When we left here yesterday, we went to Owls to talk about the service and sigh was there, Kay was there. And it was great because we were all laughing and cutting up and telling Phil stories, all the things. But it was so funny because I just stopped, like, right at the end. He said, you know what he said, I'm now realizing dad may be the only person that's going to preach his own funeral like he said. But he talked about it so many times. His own death. He said. He talked about his own death way more than he talked about his own life.
Si Robertson
That tells you.
Jase Robertson
And he said, this is going to be maybe the first ever where the man preaches his own funeral like he. He does it. And, and that was just something to think about. That that's. I look at that now as. Shouldn't that be a goal to. To do that for ourselves? Like to, to point people to the ultimate message.
Willie Robertson
And he was, he was continually doing. I mean, I'll never forget how many. I don't even know how many times he said, owens, when I'm gone, don't cry for me.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, well, good luck. He told us all that. And I know I ain't accomplished that mission yet.
Phil Robertson
No, we're doing great today compared to yesterday.
Jase Robertson
Oh, God.
Willie Robertson
But, you know, you're talking about Latin and Greek and, And Phil was an English scholar. Oh, yeah, he's got a master's degree in English. And you know, one thing I told him, I said, you know, I don't know anything but English. And, and most of that I learned from Sesame street, like Conjunction Junction. What's your function? You know, I learned. And the cool thing about that in First John, Jesus makes a vehicle to take us back to being right with God. And that vehicle is confession. He said, confess your sins and I'll forgive you. And then there's that other conjunction. And he said, and purify you. So not only is he forgiving us, he's cleaning us up every day so we can stand before him. He looks at you, sigh and me and says, oh, those are my perfect sons. I'm like, did you miss what I did yesterday? He said, I didn't miss a thing. But because your older brother decided to pay the price for you, I see you as I see him.
Jase Robertson

Si Robertson
At the congregation. I won't mention before, I used to teach the teenagers. Well, I was teaching a class and I got on, that is, who is Jesus? Okay?
Jase Robertson
And so I would have been my youth guy. They got the story to tell.
Si Robertson
Hey. And during the sermon that I was, my class, my teaching, I said, well, hey. And here's another thing that Jesus is. He's my older brother. Well, I didn't know it. One of the elders had snuck in and was sitting down there. So they called me at the end of church and said, before you leave, I will speak to you. The three elders. I said, okay, no problem. So when I walked in there, they said, you can no longer teach our teenagers.
Jase Robertson
I got weeded out. Wow.
Si Robertson
Yo. And I said, well, I got one question.
Jase Robertson
Why?
Si Robertson
Why? And one of them, he said, because you. You brought Jesus down. And I said, time out. I said, I didn't do that. And I said. And I said, look, guys, I said, hey, it's no big deal.
Willie Robertson
You brought Jesus down. No, he brought himself down.
Si Robertson
No, that's what I said. Time out. I said, you need to read the Bible.
Phil Robertson
I believe that's what we call Christmas.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. Mr. Elder man, you know, when I do things like that, you know, God says, I hear this when I say stuff like that. I say, he'll say, like, hey, little man, who do you think you are? Yeah, because they were trying to be in control.
Si Robertson
Yeah. No, no, but anyway, because I told him, I said, hey. I said, look, y' all need to read the Bible.
Phil Robertson
I've heard you say.
Si Robertson
I said, jesus himself says, I will call them brothers. I said, so he. I didn't. I said, I surely didn't bring him down. I said, but I'm sure thankful that he came down of his own accord, you know? And I said, you guys, I said, you're in error. I said, I still love you. And I said, I'm still gonna come here. And I said, it's okay. I don't mind. Yeah. Well, one of them, after I got, you know, they said, okay, it's over. I said, fine. And I said, no hard feelings. I said, I'll be here, you know, tonight, you know. So I got up to walk out. One of them come out, and he said, hey, I'm with you. They are in error. I tried to tell them, and they wouldn't listen. And I said, don't worry about it. I said, I ain't worried about it. I said, if you think I'm gonna let you push me away from the creator, you've lost your mind.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Yeah.
Si Robertson
Okay. I said, hey, you're in there, and I know it, you know it, and, hey, as far as it needs to go, forget it, okay? I won't teach the kids.
Willie Robertson
Well, what you said, you said earlier, the word deity, and in Colossians, it says, all the fullness of deity lives in bodily form. Jesus. And then it says this. And that same fullness now lives in you.
Si Robertson
Oh, no, see, that's another thing. That's why I tell people. I said, I don't understand it. I said, you've got the man, okay? That would be Jesus Christ, the Messiah, okay? And he. The only thing he wants for you, it's always first class. He's picked up the tab for everything.
Willie Robertson
You got an upgrade, right?
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
First class.
Si Robertson
Idiot. You're a nobody, okay? He's made you somebody. Number one. He's gave you everything you need. Number two. Okay. And he loves you beyond measure.
Willie Robertson
I think that's number four.
Si Robertson
Oh, that's enough.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, that's enough.
Si Robertson
That's enough. That's enough. He's giving you. Given you everything you'll ever need.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
What more do you want? What more do you need?
Si Robertson
Yeah. What? What? You know what? Can you even come up with that he hasn't given you?
Phil Robertson
I got nothing.
Jase Robertson
Not a thing.
Si Robertson
No. Come on. And then I see you turn your back on him and run toward the evil one.
Jase Robertson
Well, Mac, we'd be remiss if before you got out of here, we didn't ask a simple question and probably a complicated one at the same time, of course.
Phil Robertson
How you doing?
Jase Robertson
No, I mean, I know how Max doing that then, because he's human. We all. We all are doing the same, right? Like with. We all. We're all struggling through. Through different things and. No, but with the. With the honor of Phil and. And your brother Joe, the memory that comes to mind, like the. The one I feel like, because I know y' all went through some. Some hard times, some good times and then some great times, right? You were. People don't know this. Mac was Phil's original business partner, for lack of a better term. Right? I Mean, he went in with Phil and bought that piece of crap land that they have down there that they turned into a duck hole. Like, it's a place that is good for absolutely nothing except fellowship. It's that. Fellowship. Duck and kill a few ducks.
Willie Robertson
That's right.
Jase Robertson
Like, it is.
Willie Robertson
Emphasis on few and getting fewer every year.
Jase Robertson
Because if you look at it, you're like, yeah, this is. This is a wasteland. Like, there's nothing here. But, you know, so I know you spent a lot of time with Phil in a. In a different time and place than a lot of us, and a lot of people have seen him. So if there's the. The one we'd love for you to share or, you know, and. And even lumping your brother into that because you. You've lost two pillars in your life, you know, and. And so have we. So we. We all have, too. And so I. I think our fans, after reading and chatting with the fans last night, they. They love to know that the people that they watch and they listen to are, in fact, human. So if there's anything on your heart, on your mind you'd like to. To share with that, we want to. We want to give you that opportunity, man.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, well, the.
Jase Robertson
I didn't mean to do that, by the way. I'm so sorry.
Willie Robertson
That's all right.
Si Robertson
Jerk.
Jase Robertson
Well, no, I'm just.
Phil Robertson
I'm joking on the jerk part.
Jase Robertson
No, I'm just.
Phil Robertson
We almost made it through without crying.
Jase Robertson
Well. Well, good. You know, like, good for us, right?
Willie Robertson
Like, I've been thinking a lot about how short this life really is, losing two people that I love very dearly. And the one thing that keeps coming out of my mind is that grief is the payment that we make for love. And I love these two men very dearly. Phil was a friend that. That really taught me what a friend was. And he was always there. And when I say always, you can't say that about a lot of people, but there was never a time that I didn't. If I needed him, that he wouldn't have been right there. And. And he was. And me for him. Because this friendship that we have was actually stronger than even being a brother. And that's. That's hard to fathom because I just, like I say, lost my brother, too, but the friendship I had with Phil was. There's no words like amazing. That's not even a good word. I mean, it's just. It's undescribable how you can actually almost know somebody's thought other than your Wife. But I would know things that he was fixing to do. He would know things that was fixing to do. And this is the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to say right now about the first memory that comes to my mind. Me and him are sitting down there, George Franklin's place, because he had land right next to ours. And we thought because it was 200 yards away, that it was better duck.
Jase Robertson
That the ducks didn't have to fly.
Willie Robertson
Over one of y' all to go to Franklin's. I don't know. I said, so we, we get George that let us build a blind over there. And me and him spent one whole duck season just me and him and that blind. I mean, everybody else had gave up on the whole thing, but he said, owens, I know they're coming. I know they're coming. So look, we're in the line one day and these teal came over and I mean, we hadn't seen ducks that I don't. When they came over and is that boom, boom, boom.
Si Robertson
And.
Willie Robertson
And I, I sat there for a second. I said, how many did you get? He looked at me, he said, owens, when somebody says that, that means they didn't get any. I got four. I said, you only had three shots. He said, I got four. So, yeah, you know, besides the fact of telling me show me what a friend was, he really gave me a. A security about my salvation and realizing that if God could take a heathen like Phil, he could take a heathen like me, and I could be, in fact, a son of God. And so the things that he showed me in life were amazing. He never did it in a way that was pushy to me. It was just matter of fact.
Si Robertson
For.
Jase Robertson
Something that requires attention, like listening to a podcast, we do talk a lot about sleeping.
Si Robertson
Why sleep?
Phil Robertson
Because our friends at MyPillow have a passion to help everyone get the best sleep of their life.
Jase Robertson
They didn't stop at just creating the pillow. They've made the best bed sheets ever too, man.
Phil Robertson
It can't stop. They won't stop.
Jase Robertson
And I don't know what to tell you. I mean, the sheets, they look, they feel great, all the things. Which means an even better night's sleep for all of us, which is crucial. Oh, for a man like sigh. You know, once you get to that.

Si Robertson
Oh, no, no. Because I was going to add when y' all was talking about where to go. That's why John 3, 16 and 17 are my favorite verses. And. And you can. Everybody knows 16. You need to look at 17.
Willie Robertson
Amen.
Si Robertson
Here's the man that is savior of the world. He's qualified, okay? He's qualified to judges. Okay? And yet he says, Jesus talking. I didn't come to judge you. I come to save you. Well, Phil, I think every sermon he preached about Jesus, there was no condemnation from him toward another sinner.
Jase Robertson
No good Lord, no. Nothing but love.
Si Robertson
That was the key to his success. Okay, hey, look, dude, you're talking to the worst of the worst because that. Phil thought that of himself, nothing but love. And he shared you. And it went deeper than anybody that knows him. Okay? He shared the gospel with you for one simple reason. And he would say it a lot of times. I told you because I love you.
Jase Robertson
I only tell you this.
Si Robertson
I only tell you this. And I may be real pushy when I told you I love you, but I only told you because I love you. And you was talking about, y' all had a bond, okay? Because you had your bad. You know, I told people, ask me, what did you learn going to Vietnam? I said that everybody's got their dark side. That's why I tell Phil every once in a while after the movie the blind come out. I said, hey, you ain't alone. I said, I'm right there with you. I've been where you. Maybe not to the extent you was, but hey, yeah, I done had my dark side moments too, because that's one of the things that I always looked at him and respected him for. Everybody wants to do a movie about, hey, look at me, how good and great I am. They didn't do that with Phil.
Jase Robertson
Said.
Si Robertson
They come to him and said, hey, look, we want to show the world you're rotten sorry person you all are and always will be. And he said, really? Okay. You know, and that road heavy with him.
Willie Robertson
Hey, I want to tell you, I was just thinking about that exact thing at the premiere here in Monroe, Louisiana.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
After it was over with, I was sitting right there by him. I said, wow, this is going to touch a lot of people. I'm really proud that you did this. He said, owens, he said, it's so embarrassing that I treated Jesus like I did and that he still loved me. And when he said that, I was just like. I didn't know what to say.
Si Robertson
No, what can you say, right?
Willie Robertson
But he had. He had become so sensitive to the fact, even as he got older, about who he was and what he did to Jesus. And Jesus still accepted him well, and I pray that that never leaves any of us.
Si Robertson
And then to go back about you, when you said, hey, he trusts us enough. Okay. He made us ambassadors to represent him. Are you joking?
Jase Robertson
And to put it in today's terms.
Si Robertson
Yeah. Are you joking?
Jase Robertson
You won't put it in today's. To put it in today's terminology, influencers. We're all influencers for Jesus Christ, like, and that. Yeah.
Si Robertson
Imagine it. Hey, if that don't blow your mind, there's something wrong with you.
Willie Robertson
I tried a lot of stuff to blow my mind, and this is the one thing that actually really blew my mind. That was my past life, by the way.
Si Robertson
No, no, no, no.
Jase Robertson
I tried to short circuit.
Si Robertson
Yeah. I tried to do things. Yeah. That would make me go wherever I can't go.
Willie Robertson
Oh, the other. Real quick. I know we're about probably out of time, but the other day when I went to see him about two weeks ago, and they said, Mac, you'll probably won't remember you now. And I started telling him some more stories and he was just. He was sitting there and I told him one story in particular. He just raised his head up. Then he took his hand and he put it on top of mine and he just went.
Si Robertson
Oh, he's done that to me.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
I told the fisher toy we was tow lining on Red River. Well, it was hung up out there, so he had to swim out there and, you know, try to get it on tight. Well, he broke the brick off. And he told me, he said, hey, go up there and find us a rock that I can replace it with. Well, when I'm going up the hill to find a rock, I hear kush bass. Like, he felt I fell in. He was already in the water, you know, So I run back and I said, what happened, yo? And he was white as the hair on your beard. Okay. And he said, you're not going to believe what just come up behind me. And I said, what? He said, a fish, a catfish. A big op. And his head was this wide. Well, look, he was just like. He was talking about. He was sitting there with his head down. When I said like that, he just raised his head and he looked at Philip McMillan. He said, he's stretching his thighs of him a little bit. I said, oh, he's here then. Yeah, he's here today.
Jase Robertson
Oh, it was. It was. It was good times during the end to see the feel. The feel come out. Because you would. You'd get the little nods and the winks and the thing. The little rye smile. He wouldn't want to laugh, per se, but. But he'd give you. Or. Or he'd just look up with them eyes. He just look at him. Eyes kind of look up at you and give it. Just a little corner of his mouth would move and, you know, I'm the. You know, you got him.
Si Robertson
I'm the only one that laughs a lot.
Jase Robertson
Oh, my.
Si Robertson
Even my brother bros are now.
Jase Robertson
But we are going to wrap it up. We always wrap up with a verse I'll offer Mac if he's got one. He won't. I mean, I know.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, I got.
Jase Robertson
I know I got one. I got.
Si Robertson
There.
Phil Robertson
You got one.
Jase Robertson
But Mac always has one.
Phil Robertson
Mac always has one.
Willie Robertson
This is Philippians chapter 1, 13 and 14. For he rescued us from the dominion of darkness. Rescued from the dominion of darkness. And brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of all our sins. Jesus Christ rescued us from everything bad we've ever done. And then he says, because of your evil behavior, you were once my enemies. But now. Oh, I love it when he says, but. But now you are holy in my sight. To the Father. Go read Philippians chapter one. It'll be worth your while.
