Corey
Why do you look so surprised, Rebecca?
Rebecca Lowe
I don't understand.
Corey
So, like, it's up to you.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, yeah.
Corey
Can you hear better like that or are you fine like this? It's up to you. 1, 2, 3. Like, you can hear us better. You don't have to wear it. Allison doesn't wear it when she comes.
Rebecca Lowe
Really?
Corey
Yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
I don't know.
Brittany
Brittany doesn't either. But we're all. We've all. We've all shot too many shotguns. We can't hear anything.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, okay.
Brittany
Yeah, we just.
Rebecca Lowe
Okay. I won't wear that.
Brittany
I'm not going to speak.
Corey
Your hair look better without.
Brittany
I'm not going to speak for Johnny D side. And I wear them because we're deaf.
John David
Yeah, like two minutes. Shotguns, too.
Corey
You didn't know this was on video?
Rebecca Lowe
No, no.
Corey
We better get rolling.
Brittany
All right, are we ready? I have no idea.
Corey
I'm ready.
Brittany
I have no idea what we're going to talk about, by the way. Okay, never mind.
John David
I got that.
Rebecca Lowe
I know. Just. John David.
Corey
I want to know what it's like coming to America. I've only seen the movie.
John David
Yeah.
Corey
Oh, we started.
Brittany
Oh, are we. Welcome back to the duck call room, ladies and gentlemen. I almost said podcast. Like we don't have a name. We have a very special guest with us today. If you're not watching on YouTube, if you are, you've already. It's spoiler.
Corey
The most Special guest.
Brittany
You see the furthest traveled. Robertson is with us. And who's now last name is Laughlin. Right? Yeah, I got all those. Right. Yeah. Okay. I was making sure I didn't go out of order. Rebecca is here and it's like so cool you finally joined us.
John David
No, no. And we're going this. Look back when I was like, oh, 12, 13, 14, 15, and at age they. They had a show on TV named. You know, they would find somebody, a celebrity or somebody, and then they would call it. They would say, this is your life. And then that person would come on TV and say, okay, I was born wherever and their whole life. So guess what, Rebecca?
Rebecca Lowe
Is this a.
Brittany
This is your life?
John David
This is your life.
Rebecca Lowe
Okay. This is my life.
John David
Yeah. So we want to know because I see, you know, Willie adopted you. You what? What Was an exchange student.
Rebecca Lowe
I was.
Corey
She's my foreign exchange cousin.
Rebecca Lowe
I know.
John David
Well, no, no, but I'm just saying I'm trying to set this up.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes.
Corey
Okay.
Rebecca Lowe
He's trying to explain to me what. In case they don't know, in case
Corey
they didn't see the greatest night of television history.
Rebecca Lowe
What was the greatest night of television, Rebecca?
John David
Well, no, no. Cause see, that's why I won't heard her tell her story. Because I really. I really don't know this young lady.
Corey
Rebecca, do you not remember it was 2014 and season five of Duck Dynasty premiered me and you with two episodes.
Brittany
Yeah, this was the peak. It really tells. It really telled off after we started with y'. All.
Corey
I know it went.
Brittany
So you're aware when it had all. When it had all of us in there, it was climbing showed y'.
John David
All.
Brittany
There we go.
Corey
We were the highest two episodes ever.
Brittany
Yeah, I know.
Corey
Or like number two and three.
Brittany
Yeah, there was just.
Rebecca Lowe
We were.
Corey
Yes.
Rebecca Lowe
Okay, I did not know that.
Brittany
Have you ever been through the tour? There's a list of episodes over there that show the ratings out beside.
Corey
So season five, episode one was named Boomerang Becca.
Brittany
That's her.
Corey
Which was all about you.
John David
Which is you.
Corey
Did you not know?
Rebecca Lowe
I don't. I don't think I've ever seen it.
Brittany
She saw no side would have seen that one because it was a season premiere.
Corey
Yes, I would have been there for that one. There was a party.
John David
Why don't I remember?
Rebecca Lowe
I do not like to watch myself on TV or hear myself. This is why.
Brittany
Boy, podcasts are really bad for you.
Rebecca Lowe
This is like this. This is why I don't rarely do this.
Brittany
But are you going to let Your kids watch this podcast?
Rebecca Lowe
Of course not.
Corey
Yes. Why not?
Brittany
Of course I'm going to let mine watch it.
John David
Of course not.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, it is on YouTube, so they'll probably found it somewhere.
Corey
They'll find it. Oh, have they ever seen the original episode of Duck Dynasty of you?
Brittany
No.
Rebecca Lowe
Are you kidding me?
John David
If she had, you need to let them see that.
Rebecca Lowe
I don't know.
John David
You're their mom.
Brittany
Yeah. You're already their superhero.
John David
That's right. Yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
We do watch the new episode of the revival, so.
John David
Okay.
Corey
Oh, so they'll watch themselves.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah, they watch themselves, but I don't want to show them myself.
Corey
Why not?
Rebecca Lowe
I don't know.
John David
Okay, start from anyways. Start from the beginning.
Corey
Anyways, those were the two episodes both of us. Eight and a half million people watched
Rebecca Lowe
us and then booted Dave. I didn't know we're that such a big deal.
Corey
We're not. I was notice they didn't invite us back.
John David
Well, look, all right, these fixes to start from the beginning of where she's from.
Rebecca Lowe
Okay.
John David
And how she ended up here.
Rebecca Lowe
Okay. So originally from Taiwan.
John David
Okay.
Rebecca Lowe
And moved here as an exchange student. It was supposed to be like a one year thing. And somehow the craziest thing, it's like, yeah, you got.
John David
You met Willie Robertson.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes. I end up with match with the Robinson family, which I came from Taipei, which is a super big city. And when I first saw that match with the family in Louisiana. I have never even heard of Louisiana in my life before. Like, I obviously know America, but we've only known like New York or California. And so anyway, it's a crazy story how I end up being matched with the family. And it's definitely a God's thing. But then I came over here and, you know, I've never seen anyone. Actually, I don't know if I've ever seen anyone with a big beard before in my life. And I remember they telling me like, you know, when I first got matched with the family, they sent a little information of the family, which the paper they sent was very deceiving because Willie didn't have a beer in that picture. And it was like clean cut with like.
Brittany
Oh, they sent them to the old picture. Yeah, it was like a beach picture
Rebecca Lowe
in their backyard at the old house, you know, and like on the little, like a little. What's it called?
Corey
What year was this? You came like the little swing thing.
Rebecca Lowe
What is called like a swing? No, but like a hammock.
Brittany
A hammock.
John David
A hammock.
Corey
A hammock.
Brittany
Okay.
Paula
A Hammock.
Rebecca Lowe
Like, there was, like, the hammock in the backyard. And he was like. Had long hair. Like, longish hair, but no beer. And, you know, all the kids. Sweetest little kid. And I've never seen. Actually, this is like.
Brittany
Go ahead, run this. Oh, no, we can edit it. Don't worry. Hey, we have a whole. We got, like, seven episodes.
Rebecca Lowe
I've ever seen a mixed race, like, person before. Like, so when I saw Will, okay, I was like, oh, my gosh. This is the cutest little thing ever. You know, like, with the curly.
Brittany
He's like a chubby little doll.
John David
I love it.
Rebecca Lowe
He wasn't even chubby. Like, he was like.
Paula
It was.
Rebecca Lowe
He was two.
Brittany
He was already on his way to chubby.
Rebecca Lowe
But I just was like, this is such a cool, interesting family. Family. Anyway, so when I.
Brittany
You know what? They need somebody from Asia.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes. That's the only thing they're missing is,
Brittany
you know, they just need one more continent on here, and we're good. Oh, man.
Rebecca Lowe
So when I came, you know, Willie had beer then, but it still wasn't, like, super big. But I was, like, shocked because I was like, you know, he looked like a homeless.
John David
So how. What age was you?
Rebecca Lowe
When I was 16.
John David
16. Okay.
Brittany
Was it our sophomore year?
Rebecca Lowe
Okay, so I went straight into junior year and. But yeah, so that was.
Corey
She did a whole presentation. Yeah. Do you not remember you had to get up and tell our whole class about how much harder homework was in Taiwan?
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, yeah.
Corey
Than it was.
Rebecca Lowe
It was so funny because I went into school and, you know, obviously I wasn't. I couldn't speak English barely.
Corey
They told me she did, which I was very.
Rebecca Lowe
Like, I was, like, the top of my class in Taiwan. It just. I mean, when we. It's different. Like, we learn British English, I think.
Corey
Is that what it was?
Rebecca Lowe
I think. And it's the accent I couldn't understand. I could never understand Mike Kelly as Church Kellett.
Corey
He's a little nasally.
Rebecca Lowe
No. But, like, I could not understand.
Brittany
He get in them nostrils. I get it.
Rebecca Lowe
And any, like, church service, I could not understand him.
Corey
That's.
Paula
Wow.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. And, like, I have to, like, read the lips.
Brittany
You were really.
Rebecca Lowe
Also, everyone has big beers. I couldn't see their lips. I feel like that was one of the problems that really was.
John David
I never thought about that.
Brittany
Okay, we're only seven minutes in, I gotta tell you. You said this was your second podcast. You're coming back?
Corey
Yeah. Oh, yeah. This is phenomenal.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, I just hope you may be
Brittany
our new fourth Chair because they're irregular.
Corey
So you move here.
Rebecca Lowe
I moved here.
Corey
You thought you knew English.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes.
Corey
You don't know English.
Rebecca Lowe
Turns out I thought I was terrible at math. Turns out I was like, great at math.
Corey
That was part of the presentation. We're all sitting there and she's like, oh, yeah, we do nine hours of math.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes. I mean, I was like the best of the math class. And I went straight to like, AP and do all the thing. And I was like, wow, this is crazy because I was terrible at that.
Brittany
All of a sudden, these stories y' all said about McDonald's.
Rebecca Lowe
So I think that really is a stereotype. Like, it's actually proving that right. Like, Asian people are, like, just better at math. Yes.
Brittany
Like, well, of course, if you do it for nine hours and we don't.
Rebecca Lowe
Calculator
Corey
Sal. You know what? I'm about to head to the beach and I'm super excited about it. But whenever you're on vacation, it's important to have quick, healthy habits like AG1. That way you can stick to that routine. I'm going to take some travel packs with me because with the travel pack,
John David

John David
Oh, are you a Taiwan or are you Chinese?
Brittany
No, no, he don't understand the geography of it all.
John David
Here you go.
Corey
I'll show you.
Brittany
Yeah, he needs a geography.
Rebecca Lowe
Taiwan, which is an island off China, and Japan in between.
Brittany
It used to be called the People's Republic of China. Is that right? Is that proc. Is that what it used to be?
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. Well, they try to call it Republican of China, but it really, like, that's what they wanted to call it.
Brittany
I'm not trying to get bogged down. I just feel like I remember now.
John David
You got me. Ridiculous.
Rebecca Lowe
Here you go.
Brittany
Sigh.
Rebecca Lowe
Look here. Here, I got you right here.
Corey
Look, a tattoo of all of Taiwan.
Brittany
Look, big dog. Right?
Corey
Here we go. So this is China. This is Japan. Where's Vietnam? You've been there.
Brittany
That's Vietnam down there.
Corey
That's Taiwan.
John David
Wait, where's Taiwan on that? Yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
Sweet potato right here. We call it the sweet potato.
Corey
We call it the boot.
Brittany
We're fine.
John David
I'm fine. Okay. But again, I'm still confused. Okay. Are you a Taiwan Taiwanese?
Brittany
She's Taiwanese.
John David
Taiwanese.
Rebecca Lowe
Taiwanese. Yeah.
Brittany
She's not Taiwan account.
John David
Okay. She's not either China or. Or.
Rebecca Lowe
I don't wanna get political. And like. No, we got a time limit. That could really.
Corey
The Taiwanese politics.
John David
Oh, look, I got that. What was you thinking? You're 16 years old and you're coming from Taiwan, a. A spot in the ocean, and this cat's your uncle. No, no, to America. To the Robertson family. And you run into this crazy idiot
Rebecca Lowe
story with me and Uncle Psy when
Brittany
I first and this cat sitting on his porch smoking cigarettes, saying, I'm your uncle.
Rebecca Lowe
You remember Uncle Psy?
Corey
Oh, I'm so excited.
Rebecca Lowe
Do you want to know our first encounter? I don't know if you remember this.
Brittany
No chance.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, when we were. You know, when I first moved here. And we were at the old house down in Cahoon by Chioka.
Brittany
Poker night.
Rebecca Lowe
And poker night. That was Wednesday night. Every Wednesday night, y' all will have boys. Poker night, huh? And I was there, and one night you came in and I guess, like, you didn't get a memo that it was canceled or whatever. And you just was sitting in there in the kitchen on the table and just kind of, like, waiting on everybody, but nobody was coming. And it was just me and Sadie at the house. I don't know why. I can't remember what happened, but we just started hearing somebody yelling and doing, like, all the shouts, like, Owen, like, Jack. All the things. And I was like, sadie, what is that? And she was like, I don't know. And so we were, like, peeking through like, we were, like, trying to see. And then we, like, saw you sitting there. And I was like, see, Sadie? Who is that? And she was like, I don't know. We should call 91 1. And it was you. And I cannot believe Sadie. Like, she was like, I don't. I don't know who that is. We need to call 91 1. Sadie was young, and we were hiding in the room. We were so scared.
Brittany
Oh, praise God.
Corey
Cause you were playing poker by yourself,
John David
yelling, oh, I had seven hands dealt out.
Rebecca Lowe
I know. You were, like, playing all by yourself,
John David
talking to different people, hands dealt out. And I'd look at him and say, are you going to bet? Are you going to fold? Or what are you going to do?
Rebecca Lowe
You were yelling at air, like, yeah, he didn't.
John David
I was getting up. I was getting up out of every chair, going around the whole table the whole time I was doing that.
Rebecca Lowe
So you remember that time?
Brittany
Oh, yeah.
John David
No, I remember the first time I met you and saw you.
Rebecca Lowe
When. He remembers when, like, always.
John David
You've always impressed me with what you wear, the clothes you wear.
Rebecca Lowe
Thank you.
John David
You're kind of like a. You're kind of like a mom.
Rebecca Lowe
I don't know. I feel like. I don't know. I mean, John David can probably recall some of the fashion choices I had,
Corey
and when you first showed up, they were a little different than the rest of the uppity white kid Christian school
John David
that you were attending.
Rebecca Lowe
I do remember I brought the leggings.
Corey
She brought leggings.
Rebecca Lowe
Leggings In Louisiana. Like, that was. Nobody was wearing leggings at a time, like. And remember, we have a dress code. But I was able to kind of get away with the dress code because you can wear leggings, and then you can wear, like, a skirt or something over it, you know? But then Abercrombie started carrying all the leggings, and then that's whenever, like, you know. But I was the. Well, I was before abroad. Leggings.
Brittany
What was that stuff you used to make in the microwave that was like, some kind of tea or something. Had the little balls. You always.
Rebecca Lowe
Boba.
Brittany
Is that what that was?
Corey
That's. Now that. Wait, that's cool now here.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah, they're everywhere.
Brittany
She was. She was making it on Brownlee road back in 2000.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes, yes. Oh, yeah. I was making, like, fried rice. I remember cutting, like, hot dogs, like, little.
Brittany
But watching her eat was one of my favorite things of poker night. Like, once she showed up here because she. She made herself some bizarre snacks.
Rebecca Lowe
Do y' all remember I gained 40 pounds.
Corey
We were waiting that minute to bring that up.
Rebecca Lowe
That's actually John Davis. I know there's a few stories you like to tell about my eating habits.
Corey
I'm just saying the filet o fish changed your life.
Rebecca Lowe
It did, it did. I mean it changed a lot of people's lives. But I mean, I would just have to say like coming here, like I. I don't know if y' all understand. Like McDonald's is like a, like a luxury in Asia. Like because it's like American and like people, you know, it's like you. We go to McDonald's after church. It's like a cool thing. And we have like the McDonald's there are super nice. It's two story. You have like the playhouse and like
Corey
this is the McDonald's in Taiwan?
Rebecca Lowe
Yes.
Corey
Like I gotta go Taiwan.
Rebecca Lowe
No, it's like. Yeah, no, it's like super cool. Like you know, and it has like the playground, like the actual really cool playground. And like the toys are amazing. Like we used to collect all the toys and they're all like oh good.
Brittany
I thought you were gonna say you built them.
Corey
Can't say that. Just did.
Rebecca Lowe
But so, you know, coming here, I was, you know, wow, there's McDonald's everywhere.
Corey
So you pass four on the way to school.
Rebecca Lowe
I do, yeah. And there's one right by school and we get to check out early at on Friday or something for senior.
Corey
And she went straight to McDonald's every day.
Brittany
The filet o fish was your poison? Yep.
Corey
Did you gain 40 pounds?
Rebecca Lowe
Yes, 40 pounds.
Corey
Well you weighed 80.
Rebecca Lowe
I was little and I was shorter too. So like think about like, I mean I wouldn't say I was huge, but I was like probably five, two at a time. And then I was like 140 pound. So that's like big for me.
John David
Like what's, what size shoe you wear?
Rebecca Lowe
What is that?
Brittany
Shoes that got a what from everybody
Rebecca Lowe
I wear like except for me. I said, oh, I wear six. Like six, six and a half. So I do have small feet.
John David
And it's a, it's a small six.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah, like I have like small feet. But you know, I did gain a lot of weight after moving here and cuz all the food and I eat like donuts. Cinnamon toast.
Corey
Cinnamon toast crunch is good.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, and like Corey used to make those like you know, just like the toast actually toast and she'll make like a whole platter of it and then like that's what we eat for breakfast.
Brittany
Yeah. Corey was really good at almost burning
Rebecca Lowe
Something that was her specialty.
Corey
Not to mention, you moved in with the unhealthiest people in the world.
John David
She's the only woman I know that burns water.
Rebecca Lowe
But hey, you know, but look where we are now. I mean, everyone seems healthy now, but, you know, but when I first moved here, we did not eat healthy.
John David
So I.
Corey
That everyone seems healthy now.
Brittany
That tends to happen as the income increases.
John David
How many is in your family, Rebecca?
Rebecca Lowe
So in Taiwan, I came from family of four siblings. So I was the youngest. I was the baby in the family. I have a brother, two sisters and me.
Brittany
And then boom, come to America and you're the oldest.
Rebecca Lowe
The oldest. And I feel like John Re always said this is like kind of a good thing because I'm glad I was in the baby just like my whole life because, you know, I had to learn a lot being the oldest and kind of learn, you know, to kind of, you know, how to take care
Corey
of Willie's children because he got a foreign exchange cousin and he said, perfect.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, you know, it's funny because, you know, it feel like I was. But then I felt like I was I coming. Coming in. Even though I was older, I felt like I was almost like a toddler coming in because everything was so new to me. So like it wasn't like they had to race me over again. Like, I remember even with Sadie, she was in second grade when I first came. And you know, at night Corey will read books to us and I will like read the same books with them. Like, I mean that's like. Like I'm learning the same way how Sadie's learning. And Bella taught me a bunch of words and she was 2 and like I remember I would say panties for underwear because that's how I talk. It's like that's how I learned from like little kids, you know, I still say panties. Yeah, but you know, just like stuff like I talk. I kind of learned from the same way, you know how like kind of went back to a toddler again. Or not taller, but like maybe like
Brittany
interesting to think about. I mean, yeah, I would be lived
Rebecca Lowe
my life again because I didn't know I have to learn everything. I didn't know anything.
Brittany
You dropped me in the middle of Taipei, buddy. And I'm to be. I'm about to be a 2 year old. I don't know how to get anywhere. I don't know how to do anything.
Corey
You drop me in the middle of Taipei, I'm in trouble.
Brittany

Rebecca Lowe
Well, Willie went and he wasn't the biggest.
Brittany
He wasn't the biggest man there. Oh, okay. All right. Well, there you go.
Rebecca Lowe
By the hairiest. Yeah,
John David
well, I'm getting very personal here.
Brittany
Oh boy.
John David
But, but I.
Brittany
Well, you started with a shoe size. How much more personal we gonna get?
John David
Because I'm really interested financially in Taiwan. How was your family so good?
Rebecca Lowe
I mean, like, we're regular, I guess, like I would say middle to higher class.
John David
Okay, there you go.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, I came from the city. My dad actually was a doctor.
John David
Okay.
Rebecca Lowe
But he passed away when I was little, so like when I was 12. So that was actually one of my decision to come as an exchange student. So then my mom kind of had, you know, had to raise all her kids, you know. But at the time I was 12 and my dad passed away. My siblings were older too, you know, and so, you know, so she didn't have a lot like, you know, my brother and sister were already like graduating college and all the thing, you know, but they were. It's crazy, but they were in Australia, so my family lived in a lot of different places.
Corey
Did you say Australia?
Rebecca Lowe
My. My brother and sister both live in Australia. Did you not know this about me?
John David
When you think about that, that's so wild. She came to America. Your brother, sister went to Australia.
Rebecca Lowe
It's about to get crazy.
Corey
Did you talk trash to him after the soccer game the other night?
Rebecca Lowe
I know. I feel bad, but I. Y. Y' all are. I haven't seen it.
Brittany
Australia.
John David
Adventurous.
Rebecca Lowe
America. Australia.
John David
Yeah.
Paula
Okay.
Corey
Text him about it.
John David
So your whole family is pretty adventurous?
Rebecca Lowe
Yes. Like, so everyone always asks, like, how my mom is okay with me being away and, like, being, you know, so far away, but growing up, that's, like, the norm. Like, we grew up. Like, I was born in America, in Oregon, Portland. And my sister was born in Brazil, and my other sister and brother were born in Australia, so we all were born in different places and all held, like, different citizenship.
Brittany
Oh, was that strategic?
Rebecca Lowe
It's not. It just happened, and that was one of the reasons.
Brittany
What happened? Well, I thought you said Asians were good at math. Your mom couldn't count to 10. Like, 10 months. And this thing's coming?
Rebecca Lowe
Well, because my dad's job, you know,
Brittany
he was a doctor. Oh, what kind of doctor was he?
Rebecca Lowe
So he was.
John David
That's the reason y' all travel?
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. So he would go to different hospital and train and do, like, surgery.
John David
Now it makes sense.
Brittany
Cardiologist or something. Like, something important. I mean, they're all. They're all important. But when you're. When you're training people, that's your, like, cardiology. Neurology. Yeah, that's what I was about to say. Like, that kind of stuff.
Rebecca Lowe
He was very smart. Yeah, very smart. And he came from China. He came from China.
John David
He rubbed off. So are you.
Rebecca Lowe
Thank you. Thank you. Well, we never. Like, none of us turned out to be a doctor, which, you know, it's kind of disappointment for Asian men.
John David
But, hey, look, you're doing all right, Okay?
Rebecca Lowe
I know.
John David
I don't know about your brothers and sisters. They probably are doing all right.
Rebecca Lowe
All went towards the art, like artsy, fartsy people. It's kind of crazy, but that's probably
Brittany
gonna be the best line from here.
Rebecca Lowe
Like, I was gonna be a doctor or something, but you could have been.
Corey
Well, that leads us to our next segue.
John David
She is a doctor. A doctor of clothes.
Corey
A dog.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. I mix up clothes, and I will
Brittany
remember that line for the rest of my life.
John David
What's that?
Brittany
None of us were doctors. That's kind of disappointing for an Asian family.
Rebecca Lowe
It is.
Brittany
Holy cow. That was great.
Corey
None of us either, but we all knew it.
Brittany
Oh, man.
Corey
Oh, that's funny.
Brittany
What a life.
Corey
So what do you do now? Tell everybody what you do now, Rebecca.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, so recently I just.
Corey
You're doing a lot. You're hard to keep up with, I feel like. And we're neighbors.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes.
Corey
And I have no idea what you're doing.
Rebecca Lowe
Which y' all still need to come. I just invited Uncle Sa to come. I've been sending Britney invitation to come to my store. But right now our focus is we. Me and my husband just finished developing this building downtown and we. That's kind of our dream to just have like being in development and doing things. And so we developed this. Renovate this historical building downtown and now I have a store that it's inside of that building. And we're hoping to kind of make leasing out different retail spaces and have like Airbnb kind of doing different things. But yeah.
Brittany
Oh, yeah, that's the place. I caught the possum.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes, yes, yes. Y' all have been there, but it's. It looks so different now, so. But yeah, that's kind of what I
John David
need to come down there again to see it.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
John David
Because since it's been upgraded.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes.
Brittany
My kids. My kids about self destructed on that 99 degree photo shoot.
John David
Yeah. Yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, I promise you we do have AC now.
Corey
There's air conditioning there.
Rebecca Lowe
Air conditioning. There is a bathroom.
Brittany
Oh, yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
There's no possum. And there's no dead animals anymore.
Brittany
Yeah, we got rid of the possum.
Rebecca Lowe
No cross eye possum. I don't know about regular possum though,
Brittany
but that cross eye one was wild. I don't like cross that paws, man. What a lot.
Corey
And then you sell your.
Rebecca Lowe
I sell my own line of clothes called Me and My, which is Mommy and Me kind of matching.
Corey
Because your children are adorable.
Rebecca Lowe
Thank you. Thank you. And I feel like I've been kind of focusing on my kids for the past, you know, now my oldest is seven now. And so that's kind of what, you know, I feel like the past few years we've been kind of. We had. We bought the building eight years ago and then things happen. Kids and Covid and all the things. So finally now we're like back at it. But I used to have another show called Duck and Dressing, if y' all remember, which is featured on the original Duck Dynasty. Yes. Was. And but we closed like right around that time when we bought the building. So now this is like our back business kind of development.
Brittany
Fun fact. I've packed orders for duck and dressing.
John David
Oh, you did?
Brittany
Oh, man. It's all hands on deck around here, man. Like, I've shipped out duck and dressing.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, my God. And then the warehouse. Yeah, I know.
Brittany
Oh, yeah.
Corey
I only know about duck and dressing bags. They were the biggest deal in all of this town for a while. If you shop there, you got a really good bag.
Rebecca Lowe
And it's a recycle, like recycled. Like made out of recycling. Like water bottle.
Corey
Yeah. We just got fancy bags at the Honey Hole. And literally to this day, people are like, oh, it's kind of like that old duck and dressing bag.
Rebecca Lowe
Are you trying to is a dupe?
Corey
Yeah, I'm. Trust me, mine are not as nice. Well, mine are for worms.
Rebecca Lowe
I do have really cool bag again. You got to.
Corey
Oh, at the new store.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. It's even cooler. I think people.
Brittany
She's in the back in the bag game.
Corey
But then after we graduated high school, you went to lsu.
Rebecca Lowe
I did. Can you believe it?
Corey
Shock that even more.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Corey
You came here to Church of Christ school in North Louisiana and then you went to lsu.
Rebecca Lowe
I know people always think, like, it's like part. I mean, I think it's like who you hang out with, you know. And I was very much in like, you know, I was in fashion design. So I got into all that. So I stay in the studio all the time. And so, you know, it's kind of like, you know, I don't really do much. Like, I felt like I was kind of like just, you know, into like.
Corey
You're a hustler.
Brittany
She stayed in the studio, ate her filet o fish.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Brittany
Never went to Chimes. Never.
Corey
I don't even know what that is.
Brittany
I know.
Rebecca Lowe
It's not even like chime is right next.
Corey
Like, remember I. I still haven't left West Monroe.
Rebecca Lowe
You've never been to Chimes?
Corey
I don't even know what we're talking about. Like a wind chime?
Brittany
No, restaurant.
Rebecca Lowe
Restaurant. It's like very. A restaurant Chimes right outside of campus.
Brittany
That's good.
Rebecca Lowe
They have like, really good Bloody Mary on Sundays.
Corey
Oh, I went to Ulm.
Brittany
That's generally post.
John David
And they got to have Mr. And
Rebecca Lowe
Mrs. Peas and have a good cheese fries or something. Yeah.
Brittany
You slide in there about 10am After a night in Death Valley and try to shake that off.
Rebecca Lowe
That's why I. I continue to gain weight. When I was in like down in Baton Rouge.
Corey
So is our food here just that much more unhealthy or do we just give you way more?
Rebecca Lowe
That's another thing I was going to say. So it's the portion. I think there's two things. The portion and people don't walk. Like in Asia. I'm just saying. Okay, when you.
Corey
She just called us lazy gang.
Rebecca Lowe
No, no, no, no. It's the.
Brittany
She called us spread out.
Rebecca Lowe
So if you.
Brittany
They're all tight.
Rebecca Lowe
If you go to cities or any kind of places you don't like, you walk to a restaurant and then afterward you have to, like, walk back or, like, take the subway or do things so you're standing up, you're not just, like, sitting down. So, like, you usually digest better. But then, like here, like, you just get back to eat and get back in the car and then get home so you don't walk. I think that's like, the main reason
Paula
I am so excited at the way I've been looking.
Brittany
You look good.
Paula
Looking good. Flatter belly. I'm off that sugar medicine. When I got that pre diabetic, I didn't even remember having this much energy. Oh, and knees don't. When I jump out of the truck, my knees don't hurt no more. Most weight loss plans have one thing in common. They quit working eventually. And you know what that means. Weight comes right back. But PhD weight loss, it's different. I'm like almost 40 pounds down. I'm 21 weeks into it. I am not going back. I am not. It is. They got recipes on the website, good recipes. And they got suggestions for you when you go, like, you go out to eat. Like, what you can eat there, it's way different.
John David
I've watched you and Paula in church with the kids.
Paula
Yeah. I'm telling you, you got a coach you gotta talk to.
John David
A coach you definitely help. I know that.
Paula
That'll keep you honest talking to that coach every week, which hell.
Brittany
And we all know what worked for you before doesn't always work again because your body fights weight loss every step of the way when it's under stress. GLP1 drugs can work as a quick fix, but they don't always take care of what's causing the problem in the first place. Ph.D. weight loss works with you to develop a plan that works with your body and focuses on restoring your metabolism for good so your body stops fighting you. The goal isn't to lose weight once. It's to never have to start over again. Right now you can call PhD weight loss and mention Goblin and you'll get two weeks free in the program and they'll pay for your food. That's a $1500 value, completely free. Call 864-644-1900 and say Gowan again. That's 864-644-1900 or visit my PhD weight

Rebecca Lowe
One thing I was taught as kids, we, you have to finish like, you know, like my mom said this thing and I believed it as a kid. And now I think it's obviously it's like kind of like a old wives tale, but it says if you don't finish your food and we're. I'm Christian growing up, so she said it like heaven. So if before you go to heaven, there's a huge door and all your leftover is going to be all in the pot and you have to finish it before you can go to heaven.
Brittany
Wow. You got to go through fear factor to get to heaven.
Rebecca Lowe
And so everything you don't finish, I'm
Corey
going to step right in.
Rebecca Lowe
You're like, of everything you mix in and it's like rotten and you have to eat it.
Corey
Oh. And so it's not even, it doesn't even stay fresh in this mythical land.
Rebecca Lowe
Of course not. It's like however long it's not.
Corey
You act like this is something I should know.
Brittany
I was like, hunter camp all over again.
Rebecca Lowe
It obviously doesn't taste good. It's, it's rotten food. And so if you don't finish it, rotten food, you know, they, that's why they tell kids so.
Corey
So if you don't finish your food in Taiwan, to get to heaven, you have to eat everything.
Rebecca Lowe
So everyone, you always have finished all the food. You can't leave the table unless you finish all the food.
Brittany
A much more convincing way than saying, don't waste your food.
Corey
We just told about the kids in Africa. Yeah, you're starving. You're like, you're going to.
Brittany
And you go to heaven and you move to a country that said, here's a buffet, knock yourself out.
Rebecca Lowe
No, it's. And it's, you know, I remember coming here and you know, we used to go to Outback and all this place, the Chili's. And you know, and those portion was so bit and I would try to eat it and they would look at me and be like, Corey would be like, you don't have to finish all the food. But I'm like, I didn't know. I thought I had to finish so I would eat the whole thing.
John David
Well, no Wonder you gained £40.
Rebecca Lowe
Exactly.
Brittany
Yeah.
John David
You thought you had to eat it out on the table.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes.
Corey
Did you work at Outback?
Rebecca Lowe
I did.
Corey
I thought I remembered that my crime.
Rebecca Lowe
Outback bread, like bags of. At home.
Brittany
And you worked it out back when the cheese fries were good, too? Yes, Back in the Gap.
Rebecca Lowe
And the blooming onion was good. They had like. Yeah. Outback time.
Brittany
That's what Outback was like popping around here like.
Corey
Oh, you.
Brittany
It was the place.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Brittany
Now you can go there any night of the week.
John David
Yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, no, it's not the same anymore.
Brittany
It's still a very.
Corey
You and Christina there used to have
John David
to wait in line.
Brittany
Yeah. It's still a very long wait, but that's just because they don't have any people working.
Corey
That's how small this town is. My foreign exchange cousin worked at Outback, and I immediately recalled everybody she worked with. I was. Oh, yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
I know.
Corey
Yeah.
Brittany
Oh, that's so good.
Corey
Meanwhile, Allison was at the Red Lobster, just competing.
Rebecca Lowe
Did she work at Red Lobster?
Corey
Oh, yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
That's so funny. I didn't know that.
Corey
I hate those biscuits.
Rebecca Lowe
You hate it.
Corey
Oh, once you do you like going back to Outback?
Rebecca Lowe
We went recently was bad.
Corey
But see, it's not the same as it used to be.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Corey
Oh, my goodness.
Paula
Yeah.
Brittany
That's crazy. The filet of fish, tartar or no tartar?
Rebecca Lowe
I do like the tartar, but I add barbecue sauce. I always get a side of barbecue sauce and dip it.
Corey
I've been telling this joke about you.
John David
Wait a minute.
Brittany
For what have we had this sandwich with barbecue?
Rebecca Lowe
So good. You have to try it.
Corey
No, I do not.
Rebecca Lowe
Barbecue sauce, too.
Brittany
I have a pretty hard and fast rule on fish that if I don't catch it, I don't eat it. A filet of fish.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. That's definitely. I don't know. It's not.
Corey
Nobody caught that.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Brittany
No. Yeah. No. I don't know where he come from.
Rebecca Lowe
So it's probably all my leftover that's mixed into a patty.
Brittany
When's the last time you had a filet o fish?
Rebecca Lowe
Actually, not that long ago. I still eat it. I mean, hold on.
Corey
I've literally been telling the joke about you because, I mean, every day.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Corey
Of our senior year, like, Rebecca left school, and I'd pass her because she'd be turning to McDonald's, and. And I was like, man, that girlfriend
Brittany
getting one in blue wrappers, man. Blue.
Corey
I've been telling this joke for 20
Rebecca Lowe
years, and it's true.
Corey
And you were dipping it in barbecue sauce.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes. So you didn't know the detail.
Brittany
Yeah. That she had or.
Rebecca Lowe
I do. Like, another thing is I. I'll dip in ketchup, but I put pepper on my ketchup.
Brittany
I've seen folks do that for that.
Corey
I can't hate on that.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Brittany
Like, just black pepper.
Rebecca Lowe
It feels like steak sauce.
Corey
Like, making her own A1 at the McDonald's to put on the filet.
Rebecca Lowe
Very Asian thing to do.
Brittany
I'm like, yeah, very Asian deal to do. Let's just make our own sauce.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Corey
Math.
Brittany
We'll call it A Hundred Different Things. Oh, man, that's so good, Ollie. So what's the. What's the delicacy in Taiwan? I'm curious about that since we're on food. Like. Like, if you. If I go to Taiwan, what's the one thing I gotta eat?
John David
One thing would be fish.
Brittany
Obviously not, because she's eating stinky tofu. Tofu.
Rebecca Lowe
Stinky tofu.
Brittany
It's called stinky, stinky tofu.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes. It's like. It's like a. What are those things called? Like, not marinade, but, like, they're rotten, but fermented. Fermented.
Brittany
Okay, Tofu.
Rebecca Lowe
And then it has very weird stinky smell, but it tastes really good.
Brittany
Really? So kind of like kimchi? That kind of stuff? Like fermented?
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah, but it's like. It's got a certain smell, but it, like.
Corey
Is that it?
John David
It'd be like. It'd be like Italian pizza.
Rebecca Lowe
No, that one is like. Well, some avocado.
John David
It'd be like Italian pizza. Homemade. It's. It is delicious.
Brittany
That's it.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes.
Brittany
It's fried.
Rebecca Lowe
It's so good.
Brittany
Okay.
John David
Are you sure?
Rebecca Lowe
I mean, John Reese tried it. At first, he didn't like it, but he likes the fry version of it.
Brittany
Okay.
Rebecca Lowe
But it smells so bad. And, like, you can sell from miles away.
John David
Oh, yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
But then, like. But it tastes good, you know, I'm talking about. It's like cheese.
John David
Yeah. I dated an Italian girl, and she made me homemade pizza. And when she brought out the cheese.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes, it's so strong.
John David
But then, hey, this stunk Good.
Brittany
For real.
John David
And I didn't think I'd be able to eat it, but it tasted.
Brittany
But you rally.
John David
Oh, no, no, it was great. Had a great flavor, but, boy, did it stink.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, Uncle Sam. I think we should do a trip for, like. Maybe we should do, like, all the way to Taiwan. Yeah. Should we do a duck call room? Like, trip. Can y'. All.
Corey
They'll pay for it.
John David
Yeah, I think Say fail, pay for.
Corey
Call Zach and get us five tickets to Taiwan.
Rebecca Lowe
So Taiwan, it's a lot of, like, street food. And so, like, boba tea is actually from Taiwan. You know, it's more like the street kind of type of food. We have a really good fried chicken and tenza.
Corey
Just really good fried chicken.
Rebecca Lowe
I mean, fried chicken. Yeah.
Brittany
Is it on a stick?
Rebecca Lowe
Dab on the stick or a chicken nugget or all different type.
Brittany
And, like, it's like, the world's biggest fair.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah, it's. It is literally like a.
Corey
Well, when I. When you look up the town she is from, it looks like New York city.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. So Taipei101 was one of the tallest building in the world for a long time till Dubai built the.
Corey
That's. That's the city you're from, right?
Rebecca Lowe
Y' all see that guy just climbed the Taipei 101 Fre?
Corey
That was your home.
Brittany
I got a question.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Brittany
So it says Taipei right there on the screen. Them two things under it, does that also say Taipei?
Rebecca Lowe
Yes, that's amend.
Brittany
Okay, you can read that.
Corey
That's awesome.
Brittany
Does it. The way we write it seem a lot easier?
Rebecca Lowe
It is, but.
Brittany
Okay. I was just curious.
Rebecca Lowe
It is.
Brittany
There's no way I could draw this.
Rebecca Lowe
This is why I think Asian people are really good at math. Math. Because we have to memorize so much. It's not that we're good at math, but we almost just memorize things because you have to memorize how to write each characters.
Corey
How many characters are there?
Brittany
All of them?
Rebecca Lowe
I don't know. Like, billion. I don't know.
Corey
Oh, wow. So you only got an Alphabet?
Rebecca Lowe
No.
Brittany
Are you just.
Rebecca Lowe
We do have Alphabet, but that's just to tell you how to say it. But you don't write it, so you can't write an Alphabet. So we have, like, a different layer. Like, there's, like, three layers before you can, like, get to writing.
Brittany
Why do you think I just asked her if them two things meant what them seven things above it said, no,
Rebecca Lowe
I don't know that you can ask,
Brittany
like, but I would love to know how many Americans have something that they think tattooed on them that says one thing that actually says something else?
Rebecca Lowe
Because I saw this guy at JMAR one time.
Corey
Well, that tracks.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, jmar.
Brittany
Yeah.
Corey
I didn't even track. More.
Rebecca Lowe
I don't think he.
Corey
What did it say?
John David
He didn't know what it was.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah, it was a bad word.
Brittany
But see, that's what I'm talking about. Like, how many people just went in
Rebecca Lowe
there and I'M like unless he really want the be war on his slag on his calf buffet.
Corey
I'm just kidding. We'll leave it at that.
Brittany
Boba Boba. Yeah, yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
I'm just telling you from my experience, like none of the food here are cooked by the authentic. Like so like yummy Japan is not Japanese people. They're all Chinese people. And then yes, Rebecca is just blowing
Corey
the top off the whole like none of the like Asian cuisine culture of Ouachita Parish.
Rebecca Lowe
Because like I just.
Corey
Yeah, like said yummy Japan.
Rebecca Lowe
Everyone's here thinking that. Oh, because they're Asian, they must be, you know.
Corey
Well, to the untrained eye, y' all all do favor each other.
Rebecca Lowe
Okay, John, David, but that's a Dave Chappelle joke.
Brittany

Rebecca Lowe
John really likes to make guesses. I'm like he think he's really good at it and sometimes like John really stop like like he think he's being like really friendly and talking to people and like, are you from this place? You know, and like, he think he's like part Asian now because he. We're married because he's seen one naked. I'm like, john Reed, please don't embarrass yourself. Because he's like, that tracks with him.
Corey
He'd be like, oh, man.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah, yeah.
Corey
You from Japan? My wife's from Taiwan. And that person's like, I'm Filipin.
John David
Yes.
Corey
What's wrong with you? That. Does that happen? Yeah, because I've met your husband many times. That's the super friendly. Going out there and just going for it.
Rebecca Lowe
Oh, yeah. I mean, like, my kids, you know, my kids is part Asian, you know, like.
Corey
Oh, yeah, that's him.
Brittany
Oh, man, that's. Your kids have awesome hair, by the way.
Rebecca Lowe
I'm trying to figure out what to do with Xander's hair. Yeah, they're so long.
Corey
Can we cut it? I. I'm. I got the buzz. I got the clippers on the front porch.
Rebecca Lowe
He's like in a little men bun right now because I'm. He's got curly hair, which.
Corey
Buzz it.
Rebecca Lowe
No, because that seven dollar summer because I, you know, we don't normally have curly hair and so.
Corey
Have you ever driven past my house while I'm buzzing Ben's head on the front porch and then you take a leaf blower? Done.
Rebecca Lowe
I'm more sentimental. I still have, like, I save all my kids hair.
Brittany
What?
Rebecca Lowe
Like, he's seven.
Corey
You have all of his hair.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, not. Well, I have his first cut.
Corey
Okay.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Brittany
Oh, first is fine. Yeah. Brittany's got there.
Corey
I thought you had like a whole scarecrow in a closet somewhere of your
Rebecca Lowe
kid's hair, but Holland still haven't gotten a haircut.
Corey
Holland.
Rebecca Lowe
I got her bang cut one time, but, you know. But she haven't got.
Corey
Holland was criminally underused on Duck Dynasty, the revival, because that's the funniest kid.
Brittany
Oh, she looks. Or she. And she still does. But man, she looked like a real human baby doll there for like, like perfectly round face. I mean, she still does. I mean, it's. It's. It's great, but like, had to do
Rebecca Lowe
something this week and I mean, she just. She loves it and kills it.
Brittany
Yeah, yeah, yeah, she was. She was fun.
Rebecca Lowe
Lily was laughing because, you know, the first episode when we did the, like, Willie had to babysit all the grandkids and she was not like. She was just like so upset because she. She's very attached to me. But then she turned around and through the episode, and she, like, turned around, you know, and it was so cute. But we just did a new thing this week, and she's like, all about it and, like, running to hug him. That girl is a little. She can be a little actress. Yeah,
John David
it runs in the family.
Brittany
Yeah, I love it, man. Oh, yeah. We didn't really even talk about anything. That's what's great.
Corey
I. I was planning on asking you
Brittany
all sorts of stuff.
Corey
Why are you still in West Monroe? You came for a year and. Yes, that I'm staying two decades later.
Rebecca Lowe
Yes. And I'm still here.
Corey
You're still here.
Rebecca Lowe
Love it. I do. You know, I love the food and the culture and the people, you know.
Brittany
And in Taiwan, was your name Rebecca?
Corey
No. She picked that.
Rebecca Lowe
No, no. Actually, this is. Me and Corey just did a thing on recently because she was sharing some of her. All the kids. A baby name. How she picked baby name. And she obviously didn't share my. Because she didn't pick my name.
Corey
I was about to say, you get to pick your foreign exchange student's name.
Rebecca Lowe
No, so. But apparently people were super upset with her. Not.
Brittany
Oh for. About me.
Rebecca Lowe
And so she was like, we have to talk about it. So we just had to do a thing because I was like, I can't believe people were like, thinking, yeah, taking up for me. But, you know, that was really nice. But I. Obviously she didn't pick my name, but I was born here.
Brittany
Okay.
Rebecca Lowe
Remember we talked about this in Oregon?
Brittany
Portland. Oregon.
Rebecca Lowe
Oregon. Yeah. So I actually was named Rebecca before I had an Asian name.
Brittany
Okay. Okay.
Corey
What?
Rebecca Lowe
I know. It's.
Corey
It's so they're like, boom, Rebecca.
John David
So do you have an Asian name?
Rebecca Lowe
Well, Rebecca is from the Bible, Abraham's wife. So that's what. Like my. My mom picked that name.
John David
Okay.
Brittany
Yeah, yeah.
Rebecca Lowe
But interesting, you know, so Rebecca was from the Bible. But then when I started going to school in Taiwan, that's whenever we came up with Asian name. Which is what? Lor you.
Brittany
Lori.
John David
Lor.
Rebecca Lowe
You. Lor is the thing. Yeah. And it's.
John David
I'll stick with Rebecca.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah, I know, I know.
Brittany
Everyone's like, that's way easier.
Rebecca Lowe
When I was little, my name people used to laugh at me. Well, nicknamed me Naked Woman because Lord. You sound like Lord New. Which is Naked Woman.
Brittany
Well, that's cool. At least you were picked on. Then when you moved in, it wasn't that big of a shock.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. John David, you should.
John David
Oh, you know her? She's a naked woman.
Rebecca Lowe
Rebecca get low.
Corey
Rebecca. Little John was a Very popular song at the time.
Brittany
Oh.
Corey
Because her name was Rebecca Lowe. So I said, what up, Rebecca Get Low. Yeah, that was her name for me.
Brittany
Shorty Got Low.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Corey
It wasn't the most mature thing I've ever done.
Brittany
You don't say. Oh, man. Oh, this is so good. So was Low your real.
Rebecca Lowe
Was that my name? Yeah. So that would be your last name. So you say your last name first.
Brittany
Okay. So, yeah, I really got to get a little more culture on that. Not that I plan on spending any lengthy amount of time. There's.
Rebecca Lowe
Y' all would love it.
Corey
I would love it for a week.
Brittany
That's what I'm saying. Like, I gotta come home, though.
Corey
If you. If you drop me off there for math class, I toast.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, you'd be really good at English.
Brittany
I don't know. I'm not sure.
Rebecca Lowe
Maybe.
Brittany
I'm not sure. With our vernacular.
Corey
A in English, and that's it. He does know that part.
Brittany
Yeah. Well, that's good.
Corey
Oh, yeah. Did you have to take Spanish in high school?
Rebecca Lowe
No.
Corey
That would have been hilarious.
Rebecca Lowe
I wish. Yeah.
Corey
I don't know why, but just imagine if you didn't speak English and you had to go to school in America and learn Spanish.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Brittany
So what's the harder language to learn? English or what. What did. What did y' all speak? What was y'. All.
Rebecca Lowe
Chinese.
Brittany
Just Chinese. Okay. Mandarin. Okay.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Brittany
Much more difficult. Mandarin. Much more difficult.
Rebecca Lowe
Well, I would say speaking wise English is harder to speak because there's more, like, grammar rules and stuff like that. But writing and reading, obviously, I think Chinese way harder. So.
Brittany
Okay.
John David
Speaking, like, there ain't no Alphabet. It's got all them symbols.
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah. And so the way y' all speak and has a lot of different grammar that I. I'm still learning it. I feel like I'm still like, no, him, she. Like all that stuff.
Brittany
Yeah. We. We stay away from pronouns on this show. No. I can't wait to see what you pull out of that Bible. Unless Rebecca has one. If Rebecca may have a verse, I'm ready.
Corey
I'm locked and loaded on a. We end with a Bible verse. Rebecca, thanks for letting us know you.
Rebecca Lowe
I didn't know someone. I would not. I cannot go on a podcast and share good advice and Bible verses.
Brittany
Oh, well, I didn't know if, like, on your way out the door, your mom was like, here, no problem. And handed you a Bible with, like,
Corey
we just tell stories in here. But I do have a Bible verse that kind of matches Rebecca's life.
John David
Okay.
Rebecca Lowe
I would love to hear it.
Corey
You want to hear it?
Rebecca Lowe
Yeah.
Corey
Because it's been a weird road. She showed up in West Monroe from Taiwan and moved in with the Robertson family.
Brittany
And I'm saying we only scratched the surface. You're coming back. This is going to be like a 10 part series here.
Corey
10 part series with Rebecca Lowe's but something I'm assuming you've had to do a lot in life. Proverbs 3, 5, 6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to him and he will make your path straight. Yeah, you've got a wild path, but it led you straight to being niece of.
John David
I'm sitting here looking at this young lady and I know that John Reed and your two kids, that's all you got.
Brittany
There's three of them.
Corey
You got another one, man.
John David
And you're three kids.
Brittany
Tell that story later.
John David
And three kids have more fun.
Brittany
Oh, they're the life of the party.
John David
I'm telling you. They have more fun than six barrels of monkeys.
Rebecca Lowe
Then what?
John David
They have more fun than six barrels of monkeys. Yeah.
Brittany
He's saying your kids are like the life of the party.
John David
That's right.
Corey
Barrel Monkeys was a popular children's story back when we were at war with Mom.
Brittany
All I know, their leader.
Corey
That's awesome.
Brittany
Well, thank you, Rebecca. And we'll see y' all next time right here in the ducks.
John David
We appreciate you sharing your life with us.
Rebecca Lowe
Thank you,
Brittany
Sam.
