Jase Robertson
Ready, Hunter? Not yet.
Si Robertson
Now?
Jase Robertson
Now. Oh, wow.
Si Robertson
Hunter, you didn't hit the camera. You didn't hit the camera.
Jase Robertson
Hunter doesn't have a. A microphone, so I'm a little sad.
Si Robertson
There we go. Welcome back to the duck call room. Ladies and gentlemen, today we have guest.
Jase Robertson
On, guest on guest.
Si Robertson
We'll just call this the cousins episode. The distant the only half Robert or nephews size nephews. There we go.
Zach Dasher
Your nephews are here.
Si Robertson
Your nephews are here. We have one and it's. It's fun. We have a. A rabid LSU fam named John Gimba Fair versus a rabid Florida Gator fan.
Zach Dasher
Go Gators.
Si Robertson
Who married a roll tatter.
Zach Dasher
Pray for me.
Si Robertson
So he's very confused.
John Gimber
Disgusting.
Si Robertson
But hey, I'll say this. When you with those two teams, one of you is always pretty good.
John Gimber
So that's the problem, is that we're never all good at the same time.
Si Robertson
Well, he can't be because we play each other. And then I married a Vol. So, you know, we got. We got the whole sec covered in this place, man.
Zach Dasher
And you know what? We're all still in the tournament. Well, not all. I'm sorry, not all of us. But Tennessee's in.
John Gimber
Oh, Ellis, we haven't lost in the tournament.
Si Robertson
Yeah. Undefeated. Undefeated.
John Gimber
Women are doing really good.
Jase Robertson
We've done this before. We let John Chris go 50 minutes and never told anybody who they were because we thought people would know. Gimber's been on the podcast. So people know Gimber and I just.
Si Robertson
Assume that everybody and Dasher because he's on unashamed so much, and I figured we have a high crossover rate.
Jase Robertson
I hear we're a big deal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The children watch ours.
Si Robertson
Oh, that's a good point. Yeah, People like to laugh.
Jase Robertson
Watch ours, actually. Welcome.
Si Robertson
Dasher, we're trying to get you.
Phil Robertson
I'm not.
Zach Dasher
I'm I'm on the unashamed, which means I basically listen to Jace Talk about 90 of the time.
Si Robertson
Yeah, that's just like duck.
Jase Robertson
I've never been on unashamed, but I did have a guy show up the other day, the honey hole. He was like. I thought he was trying to tell me he listens to the duck call room, but he was trying to make sure I knew that he didn't listen. Oh, that he hates him. Yeah, because he only listens to unashamed. I was like, what do you want from me, man?
Si Robertson
That's fair.
Jase Robertson
Well, it was Jason's autograph. That's what he wanted.
Si Robertson
Oh, there you go.
John Gimber
Did you sign it, Jace?
Jase Robertson
I signed Willie's name myself and said it. No, I'm just kidding.
Zach Dasher
Sounds a good crossover, though.
Phil Robertson
Hey, let me tell you what I just learned.
Si Robertson
What?
Phil Robertson
Okay. That man over there, John Gimmer, is Judy Mother. Is his mother?
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Okay. My younger sister Jan is his mother.
Si Robertson
Huh.
Phil Robertson
Okay. And I just. That just hit me.
Si Robertson
You just learned that?
Phil Robertson
Yeah. Well, no.
Si Robertson
They've been around your whole life.
John Gimber
I'm 50 years old.
Si Robertson
Christmas with your uncle, huh?
Jase Robertson
It is once you get them.
Phil Robertson
Here's the thing. When Judy was alive, that was the meeting place, her house. The whole family would come there for Thanksgiving, Christmas and all that. Well, after she died from cancer, it changed everything. And then Jan's the only one.
Jase Robertson
He's grabbing a copy of the movie.
Phil Robertson
The Blind, the only one that stood behind Phil Robertson because all the rest of us had said, hey, leave him.
Si Robertson
Which explains why Zach can be a Florida. Because they're loyalty like no other.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
And it's genetic. Right.
Jase Robertson
Like, Zach's name's on the back of this, too.
Si Robertson
Oh, he's kind of a big deal, man.
Phil Robertson
No, no.
Jase Robertson
Did you write this?
Phil Robertson
Oh. So here's the deal. They both come from great stock. Okay. I would agree.
Si Robertson
Now there's a Robertson being a Robertson.
Phil Robertson
Well, there's a.
Si Robertson
We're.
John Gimber
We're very proud of our own material.
Zach Dasher
I will say somebody told me that my grandparents were third cousins. Is that true, sir?
Phil Robertson
Look, I don't even want to get in there.
John Gimber
It was a different time back.
Phil Robertson
We all started all that talking about, yeah, hey, they got the chicken, they got to check in the family tree and said, hey. You know, they used to say it was like third or fourth cousin and said, no, it was first cousin.
Si Robertson
Whoa. First. Oh, we don't. We done jumped a few up there.
Phil Robertson
Oh, yeah.
John Gimber
For everybody that's listening, that's a. Probably a little indulgent.
Si Robertson
Well, you know, 95% of that was true.
Jase Robertson
We'll let you decide what part.
Si Robertson
Here's all I'll say. Line Breeding works in cattle and deer.
Zach Dasher
Well, Granny. Granny said, good genes produces geniuses. That was her. That was her famous line.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
We're waiting.
Phil Robertson
Well, now, Granny, they'll say, everybody, you know, all the whole family has a different attitude and perspective on y'all. Was Granny actually insane or whatever? Every summer, Daddy put her in a nut house.
Si Robertson
For real.
Phil Robertson
And look, here's my take on it. Granny was not. She was not insane. Matter of fact, it was just the opposite. She was pretty genius, okay? Because look, if you're married to James H. Roberson and between the two of you, y'all come up with seven kids.
John Gimber
Delinquents.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, you were one of them.
Phil Robertson
I'm one of them.
Si Robertson
Feral something.
Phil Robertson
When she'd get sick of the whole bunch of us. Yeah, she had act up a little bit. Hey, Daddy took her. Hey. She'd take her month vacation.
Si Robertson
She get a little sabbatical.
Phil Robertson
She had. You know, she's called all the kids together when he do it, you know, she said, well, I'll see y'all whenever James H. Robinson decides to come back. Pick me up.
Si Robertson
Okay.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, there you go. So, hey, Ma died when she was 94. Okay? She won. She won Bob Barker's what's the show?
Zach Dasher
Price is Right.
Phil Robertson
The Price is Right showcases at the age of 84.
Jase Robertson
Not many people have done that.
Phil Robertson
Okay, so, hey, she was the first TV star for the Robbers. Mama was.
Si Robertson
She paved the way for you.
Phil Robertson
Oh, yeah. She paved the way for all of us.
John Gimber
She was an Exhibitor in the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans. Also, what for Mayhal jelly and Afghans.
Zach Dasher
Oh, no, the Mayhaw jelly kept going.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, look, and Ma actually was a riveter on, I think, the B17.
Zach Dasher
He was a what?
Phil Robertson
Riveter.
John Gimber
Rosie the Riveter.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, derivative on B17 bombers. At least since German.
Si Robertson
She built, man.
Phil Robertson
Oh, no.
Si Robertson
You had big shoes to fill. You decided to rivet. Duck call.
Phil Robertson
Oh, look.
Jase Robertson
Hey, one through his finger.
Phil Robertson
Look, I tell everybody the Robinson family has led a really exciting life.
Jase Robertson
You know what they should do with that?
Si Robertson
Maybe interesting is a better word.
Jase Robertson
Make it a movie. You get the DVD right now on Amazon.
Si Robertson
And then maybe if you try real hard, you get your own reality show.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no. And then you bring in God. A lot of people say, I don't believe in him. Hey, if you look at the Robertson family, you can't Help but believe in him.
Si Robertson
Boy, ain't that the truth.
Zach Dasher
That's true.
Phil Robertson
That's true.
Si Robertson
Yeah. How would we all be sitting here?
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Look at God, man. Yeah, that's fun.
Phil Robertson
Go. Go, man.
Si Robertson
Go, man. So your. Your mom riveted on B17. And you. Riveted duck call.
Zach Dasher
Read.
Phil Robertson
And I riveted duck call.
Si Robertson
Arguably, both things change the world.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
They're just riveters.
Phil Robertson
And I riveted a fingernail. Yes.
Si Robertson
Yeah. Oh, don't you think your mom ever had OSHA recordable on that?
John Gimber
Like, there's probably no ocean back in them days.
Si Robertson
Maybe not.
Jase Robertson
You hurt yourself with a beast. That's a rapper in a day, though.
Phil Robertson
Her story. Whenever my father went and World War II broke out, dad went. Done his patriotic tour, you know, store and joined the Navy, you know, so he went to California for his training and all this. Well, you know, mom said, hey, I got to get to California. Yeah. Would be with my man. So she just started getting on buses. Okay. There's a war going on. Well, she would. Hey. There would be an airman in uniform. She would just walk up and grab his arm and say, hey, till I get off the next stop. We're married.
Jase Robertson
She just.
Phil Robertson
Civilians could not travel via bus. Via bus during the war.
Si Robertson
Really?
Zach Dasher
I didn't know that.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
So, hey, that's how she got to California on in. That's when all the kids started coming around.
Jase Robertson
Well, that checks out with what I know about kids.
Zach Dasher
That's how it happened.
Phil Robertson
When a settler comes home, he's got to make up a lot of time.
Jase Robertson
All right. Anyway, this is the kids.
Zach Dasher
Whoa. My grandparents talking about, hey, we took.
Phil Robertson
We took the Almighty at his word when he said, hey, go forth and multiply.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
But here's. I did, too, but I took the urologist at his scissors.
John Gimber
Here's another. Here's another unique thing about my grandmother and I. And I bet you Zach can attest to this. I never remember ever a hug from Granny.
Zach Dasher
There was not a lot of affection in the Robertson family.
Jase Robertson
No.
Zach Dasher
Or Phil or. So I hate to tell you, for you, I don't. I don't remember much many hugs from you.
Jase Robertson
He's hugged me a lot in here.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
No, no. I'm the only one of them that is emotional.
Zach Dasher
Well, you are. You were the nicest for sure. Jimmy Frank. Jimmy Frank.
Phil Robertson
Hey, look, look. All the rest of them, man, is all good.
Zach Dasher
They are mean.
Jase Robertson
Jan was nice.
Phil Robertson
I will use the term. He spell it H. They've made the Robinson was main bunch nice.
Zach Dasher
She's pretty nice, but she had a little. She is. She was feisty.
Si Robertson
Right.
John Gimber
And mom, like. Mom was super nice, but mom was, like, very curt.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
John Gimber
And, like, had. It was like you followed these rules, and that was just kind of the way it is. She was. I mean, she cared about us tremendously. She hugged me, but, I mean, it was. It was. She was also pretty stern and what discipline you to. Oh, yeah, 100%.
Zach Dasher
But you grew up with my mom. Y'all were the closest. Y'all were kind of.
Phil Robertson
No, no.
Zach Dasher
Si was definitely my mom's favorite, for sure. No doubt. Hands down.
Si Robertson
I think the world has proven that.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no, look, I'll give you. When she was a young teenager, she was so naive, okay. Bless her heart. That's what made her so sweet. I'm Uncle Si of Duck Dynasty, and this one hits home with me. Most people look at this piece of cloth. Okay? That's a piece of cloth. Well, this right here is the American flag. It's not just a bunch of thread. Men and women have died for this thing because the human race is still stupid and can't get along with each other. What's in this flag is homegrown. It's USA all the way. This is Allegiance flag supply. It's made by professional seamstresses. Everything in this flag, the thread, the cloth, all of it's made right here in the United States of America. The thread is double soled in the areas that needs it. Look, this thing flies 724. You don't trifle with two things with me. The national anthem, our country's song, and this flag. Showallegiance.com okay. Buy you one today. And hey, let it fly above your house, y'all. I come in about half drunk one night.
Jase Robertson
Oh, boy.
Phil Robertson
From Dayton. Okay. And my mother. My mother told us she and mama had an argument, and she said, you need to tell your sister about the bird and the bees.
Jase Robertson
Uh, no.
Phil Robertson
No.
Jase Robertson
Okay.
Si Robertson
Well, Zach, this ought to be real comfortable for you.
Phil Robertson
No, no. But anyway. I said, mom, Mom, I've had about a six pack or maybe two. I said, I really don't need to tell. She said, you're just right. Go ahead and tell her.
Jase Robertson
And that's the same speech you got when you turned 12.
Phil Robertson
Congratulations have never been. What's the word I'm looking for? Tactful. Yeah.
Si Robertson
Tooth, maybe.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, yeah. So we always just. Y'all, hey, here it is. Boom. Y'all.
Si Robertson
Do you have that same talk with Zach? Did Jan bring you in when it was time. Or she let big Gordon run.
Zach Dasher
Just.
Phil Robertson
As dramatic When I enter with the truth yo mama asked a question and she said, hey, look, when you take a little young lady out, what are you. What are you trying to do? Oh, yo, no, no. Yeah. I ain't gonna say it, but anyway, so, yo, I. I tell her, okay. And you and mama are so nasty. I'm leaving. I said, hey, look, it's true. It's birds and the bees, Girl, I got whiplash.
Zach Dasher
All of a sudden, I'm like, what's going on here?
Phil Robertson
Upstairs?
Jase Robertson
Welcome to the duck call. I always wonder.
Zach Dasher
Happens over here. Now I know this is it.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
That's why. Look, that's why the whole family has said I've. I've had dementia all my life.
Zach Dasher
Okay?
Si Robertson
You do.
Phil Robertson
No, no, that's what. Hey, everybody has said it.
Jase Robertson
No, you.
Phil Robertson
You knew what happened before you got it. Yeah.
Jase Robertson
I don't think you have it.
Phil Robertson
Well, hey, look, I've had something.
Jase Robertson
You're sharp as attack. It's.
Si Robertson
He's.
John Gimber
He's where all the money would have been bet on, like, you know, when we were younger.
Zach Dasher
Oh, yeah.
John Gimber
It would all. I mean, like. I mean, everything, you know, and then the rest of them would have just been the field.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
John Gimber
And then size, the one that's kind of escaped it.
Zach Dasher
You escaped it.
Si Robertson
Unbelievable.
Zach Dasher
And that's something.
Si Robertson
What was I like as your uncle? I'm. I mean, I know Jason's opinion on it. Obviously, he was named after the poor.
Jase Robertson
Fellow, but Jace has such a.
Si Robertson
But, like, you know, you wake up and it's Christmas time, and you're like, man, I can't wait to see was it ever. Uncle Sigh.
John Gimber
He would come in, like, we would see him about every two years. He would come in and then he would have. He would stay. This is back when Granny Paul still lived at the river. And so he would be there and we would hunt with him and do those things, and he would. He would hunt with. Come hunt with Trey and I, two at different places. It was always like. That was something that I looked forward to every couple years. But it was. He would give us enough material doing those two or three weeks he was in town to last till the next two years, till he made it back.
Si Robertson
I'm gonna say real life Santa Claus.
Jase Robertson
So when he showed up, you were pumped?
John Gimber
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Look, I. I was like Santa Claus. Cause I'd come bringing gifts. It would be all army stuff. Yeah.
Jase Robertson
That the US Government paid for. Elon Musk would come bring it up.
Phil Robertson
Sir Jason still Got that first little winter hat.
Jase Robertson
The bomber hat.
Si Robertson
The bomber hat.
Phil Robertson
Bomber hat. You know, on. You know, he loved that thing. He sleep with it.
Si Robertson
Did you ever take any smokes from Uncle Si?
John Gimber
No.
Si Robertson
When he wasn't looking. I was just curious.
John Gimber
No, but you would, you'd second hand a couple, two or three packs.
Zach Dasher
John got caught smoking one time and his mom was. His mama smoked Virginia Slims, right?
John Gimber
Yeah. And after Winston's.
Zach Dasher
Yeah. And then she caught John smoking and she made him smoke an entire pack of cigarettes. This is back in the old days.
Phil Robertson
Oh, no, no, that was. Hey, that's. That's standard operators.
Zach Dasher
And you never smoked again, did you?
John Gimber
No. That's a good way to end that. I was probably seven at the time.
Phil Robertson
I come home one day and Tracy and Scott, they were like six and four. Okay. You know, and they had stole one of my Worcesters. And when I caught them when they come in, you know, they put it out. I said, oh no, no, no, no. I reached in my pocket, I said here, let me light that thing for you. I said, you sit there smoking, you know. But they smoked the. I smoked maybe smoke four or five of them. It they turned as grainy to that cup there. Okay. Sick of the dog. And Tracy and Scott boasted. Hey, that's the best thing you could ever done for us.
Zach Dasher
Statute of limitations.
Phil Robertson
We never wanted to steal another cigarette.
Si Robertson
Hey, there you go. Let them touch that hot stove, huh? Yeah, I don't think Brittany gonna go for that with me.
John Gimber
That's how you can keep your boys from like ever smoking or dipping.
Si Robertson
Martin, just give it to them now.
John Gimber
Yeah, two or three years old. Give them, give them a little plug of it.
Si Robertson
Yeah, let them have.
Phil Robertson
Then they won't ever touch it again.
Si Robertson
I'm afraid that one that looks like her may like it kind of. He kind of hard headed, you know.
Zach Dasher
That'S what you got to be careful.
Si Robertson
I'm afraid I may start an issue.
Phil Robertson
Every time somebody says that about their wife, I always get tickled. Doubled up. Coming. Hey, I knew mom before mom was mom.
Si Robertson
Wow. I didn't have listening to gimbal smoke a packet seven on today's bingo board. But hey man, I like it.
Jase Robertson
Welcome back to the duck call.
Si Robertson
And here I thought we were just going to talk about that one altercation Gimmer got in on the kickball field him.
Jase Robertson
Oh, but his kids were watching.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. Hey, they, they, they've just, you know, enlightened me that my nephew, you know, has got quite the temper.
Jase Robertson
No, that's not.
Zach Dasher
I haven't heard the story.
Si Robertson
That ain't how we said so.
John Gimber
I wasn't always as. As upstanding as what y'all have come to know.
Jase Robertson
Well, we were just. We were talking about fights at this age and how they all happen in church. League, basketball.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Or so.
Si Robertson
And then I rolled it to softball.
Jase Robertson
Then we remembered Gimber on the kickball field.
Si Robertson
Y.
Jase Robertson
But hold on. But to preface this back to back to back. Champion John Gim.
John Gimber
Yeah, we played the kickball league was in effect, three years. We won the championship all three years. They expanded and like, you know, very handily won the championship.
Jase Robertson
But I don't know this Zach.
Phil Robertson
I can't just say that the team was a little cocky.
John Gimber
Well, we just. We knew how to play the game. And I mean, we like the two by two memories of. One is a quick story where I was pitching. This girl was running to first base.
Jase Robertson
We covered that.
John Gimber
Y'all talked about that.
Jase Robertson
I apologize to that girl if she's.
Si Robertson
Still out there where Johnny D decoyed.
John Gimber
Oh, and she hit the ground and came up.
Jase Robertson
What did you do? I felt. I really felt bad about that.
John Gimber
But there was. There were not. There was. The people that ran the league didn't understand the rules, and we were just out there playing, just not by the.
Jase Robertson
Rules, you give me.
John Gimber
But I was. I was. I think I was paying taxes. Second base. The guy. Somebody pops one up. I caught it between first and second to get out. And the guy who was running between first and second, like, swung at me to hit the ball to knock it out of my hands very forcefully.
Jase Robertson
And he might have been annoyed with a certain person on our team being loud and obnoxious. I don't know.
Zach Dasher
Yeah. I don't know.
Si Robertson
Probably drew first base.
Jase Robertson
Oh.
John Gimber
So.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
John Gimber
So the. So the banter back and forth took a major elevation of. Of.
Si Robertson
It escalated.
John Gimber
It escalated big time whenever somebody swung to hit it out of my hands.
Jase Robertson
And then he started talking and Angela was there and she said, john Kimber, your kids are watching you. And he said, they're fixing to watch me whoop someone's butt.
Zach Dasher
I bet he didn't say.
Phil Robertson
But he did.
Zach Dasher
He said.
Si Robertson
Well, I don't think.
Jase Robertson
Hard to remember.
John Gimber
No, it was just a. It was just. It was. It was a co ed league and.
Si Robertson
I wasn't church league, but every team was loosely church, Right?
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
John Gimber
And I was asking the guy to just plea. He was. He tried to walk off and I was behind him asking him to turn or just turn around. All I want you to do is turn around. Please turn around and engage me.
Jase Robertson
And then that's. It was awesome.
John Gimber
Your kids here. And I. I called Angela that night and apologized.
Zach Dasher
So you repented for all this? Yeah.
John Gimber
Yeah, I did.
Jase Robertson
The whole time, I was just laughing.
Zach Dasher
Well, I would have had another sport there. I've actually witnessed something go down in the bottom.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, there's a volleyball game. There's a volleyball game that happened in my backyard.
Si Robertson
You played volleyball?
Zach Dasher
And that was a church function.
Jase Robertson
That was a church function.
Phil Robertson
You have.
Si Robertson
We just friends and half vertical or. Why are you.
Jase Robertson
Back then, we were playing volleyball. People came in my house. We. We have a mutual friend. We're not going to say his name. He's much better than he used to be. But he cheated at fantasy football. Oh, we kicked him out of a fantasy football.
Phil Robertson
Kicked him out.
Jase Robertson
He was just, like, trying to get under everybody's skin, kind of like what I do.
Si Robertson
Yeah, I can see. I can see where that'd be a rub with you.
Zach Dasher
He's a. He's an attorney, so what he would do is.
Si Robertson
Oh, Gary.
Zach Dasher
He would try to say his name.
Si Robertson
Why not? He's an Oscar.
Jase Robertson
Because of what you're about to hear me say.
Zach Dasher
Your uncle.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Zach Dasher
Is he your uncle?
Si Robertson
Gary Glenn.
Jase Robertson
Oh, well, you'll love this story if you don't like him.
Si Robertson
See, if y'all don't think we ain't a family business. You wrong. Oh, is that your cousin in here? Safe from anything is best death. And that's because she's from Canadia.
Jase Robertson
She has to be from a different country.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Dodge the bullets. Well, anyway, he did something, and it. Like, it was.
Si Robertson
There was.
Zach Dasher
I remember what it was.
Jase Robertson
There's a whole bunch of.
Zach Dasher
Well, it started with your dog. Your dog ate my sunglasses.
Jase Robertson
That was your fault. Who put sunglasses on the ground in a house with a dog?
Zach Dasher
Toasted Del Mar sunglasses, I might add.
Si Robertson
Oh, well, that dog was trained to do that. They sell them.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Come on by the honey.
Si Robertson
I think replace them.
Jase Robertson
I've already sold a pair. That's morning anyways. And so Gary's just ripping me in front of everybody. And, like, none of my friends like Gary or Zach. But it was just this thing because it was like the younger guys versus the older guys, and the older guys were always just like. I mean, if you got cheated fantasy football, who really are you?
Si Robertson
Right? Yeah.
Jase Robertson
And he 100% cheated and got kicked out of the league. And then he's just bashing me and my friends. And I looked at him square in the eyes at a church event. I said, you know what? I'm about to tell you why nobody here likes you. And everything went quiet. And for about three minutes, I told him exactly how me and all my friends felt about him.
Si Robertson
Well, then you got to shoot your shot when it goes. Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Once you say, I'm about to tell.
Zach Dasher
You, then it got really awkward. It's like, and then what do we do?
Jase Robertson
And then I was like, all right, let's play volleyball now that you know your place. Yeah, it was uncomfortable. I'm not proud of it.
Si Robertson
Did you win?
Jase Robertson
Well, he went forward at church the next Sunday and Really? And changed completely.
Si Robertson
No, I'm just kidding.
Jase Robertson
No, we're cool now. It took a minute.
Si Robertson
Oh, man.
Jase Robertson
There was a whole crew of them though.
Si Robertson
A whole crew of them.
Jase Robertson
Just older people than me. That they were mean to us. I'm lippy.
Si Robertson

So then they were also tired and whooped and sad that they were like, we got to go find some other.
Zach Dasher
We had to. Yeah.
Si Robertson
Hurt people. Hurt people. Yeah. There's a whole profession based off that.
Jase Robertson
And I was just lippy enough to fire back eventually.
Si Robertson
Okay, well, I said, david Owen coming out.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I was like, well, my dad leads the anger group. It's some of it.
Si Robertson
Man, what a life, man.
Jase Robertson
I didn't know we were going to go there. I was like, oh, good. Gimba's on. We're going to talk about kickball. And then when Dasher walked in, I said, yep, they're getting volleyball.
Zach Dasher
Talk about volleyball.
John Gimber
I still have the. I still have the championship bowl from the. From the. It's at my camp. Yeah, we're bringing it back in here.
Si Robertson
Yeah, do it back here in front of size cup. We can have a great candy.
John Gimber
It's my candy dish at the camp.
Si Robertson
Well, we can have a great success and a great failure all sitting right back there.
Jase Robertson
And Dash is doing all right. He's the liege lord of every podcast in movie and tv. He's got his own podcast now.
Si Robertson
Let's say Dasher did the slick thing move. He just visits here.
Zach Dasher
That's what you guys do.
Si Robertson
He just. He said, I gotta get the heck out of there. Took off North Carolina. And then he come back every once in a while, make sure everybody still see it. And then he goes again.
Jase Robertson
I don't know if enough time has passed for this joke, but you got to get away from the hurricanes here in Louisiana.
Si Robertson
Oh, wow. Yeah, man. That sucker followed him up there.
Zach Dasher
They did. Oh, bad.
John Gimber
First hurricane to hit the Midwest mountains, you know, ever. And y'all were there.
Jase Robertson
If y'all are listening from there.
John Gimber
So. Such a trash.
Zach Dasher
You know where I was?
Jase Robertson
You know, I was at Florida, Louisiana.
Zach Dasher
Guy brought to her. I was actually in Angola prison that had done an event down there, and I was. Stay the night in Baton Rouge. I told you. I said, I think Black Mountain is going to get some rain tomorrow. I had no clue what. What was coming, but it was.
John Gimber
Yeah, I mean, it took roads. Roads and infrastructure.
Zach Dasher
20 something miles of water pipes. I mean, we'd have water for eight weeks. But I just dug a well, by the way.
John Gimber
But it's unbelievable, the destruction that got put in that area.
Zach Dasher
Oh. As well.
John Gimber
Over that.
Zach Dasher
You don't expect it up there, though.
Phil Robertson
Sure.
Si Robertson
How is it? Is it coming back? Yeah, I mean, like, everything.
Zach Dasher
I mean, it's like.
Si Robertson
It's obviously going to take a while. We're familiar with the guy.
Zach Dasher
It's like Katrina took how many? I mean, this is New Orleans back. I mean. I mean, I don't know. It's going to be. Yeah, but it'll be a.
Jase Robertson
Still smells bad. New Orleans, not North Carolina.
Zach Dasher
Yeah, North Carolina smells good.
John Gimber
Oh, and you're talking about 20 miles of water pipe. I mean, that's a lot of pipe.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Yeah, that was a blow up there. That's incredible what those folks went through.
Jase Robertson
But you got a podcast now.
Zach Dasher
I do.
Jase Robertson
It started.
Zach Dasher
Started doing it. It's called Not Yet Now.
Phil Robertson
What?
Jase Robertson
Hold on.
Zach Dasher
Not start. Not Yet Now Now.
Jase Robertson
But it has. So it hasn't started.
Zach Dasher
Not Yet Now. It's the name of it.
Jase Robertson
Is it?
Si Robertson
We about to get one of them volleyball things.
Jase Robertson
You keep going, Ye thousand.
Zach Dasher
We've been safe.
Si Robertson
Except you got. You got one here just as lippy as you are. So this. This may not end in here.
Jase Robertson
I'm not near as crazy as I used to be.
Zach Dasher
Now neither am I.
Jase Robertson
We.
John Gimber
We got a bell to start and stop things if we need to.
Si Robertson
Martin, I would have said over here and be quiet.
Jase Robertson
G. So it's not Yet Now.
Phil Robertson
It's kind of like, unashamed.
Zach Dasher
Yeah, except I talk a little bit.
Jase Robertson
Okay, so they use bigger words on his podcast.
Si Robertson
He said, but I talk a little bit.
Jase Robertson
Way bigger words on Not yet now than on A shame.
Si Robertson
Sorry.
Zach Dasher
The first episode.
Phil Robertson
If I watch your podcast, I'm gonna need to have a dictionary with me.
Zach Dasher
Well, yeah, it is a little bit. It's a little. Well, because if I use a big word on A Shame, then Chase has like a. A, a. A cricket noise that he plays into the microphone.
Jase Robertson
Does he really?
Zach Dasher
Oh, yeah. It's ridiculous. It's like. So then when I started the podcast, it was hilarious because all the comments were like, like, zach, we know why you did this because Jace never lets you talk. And I was like, that's exactly right. So he's a good villain. I just let him be the villain.
Jase Robertson
But easy one.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Zach Dasher
But, yeah, we do it every Tuesday. We post every Tuesday. It's a little more of a. Less storytelling, more Bible.
Phil Robertson
Bible.
Zach Dasher
We're going through the book of Mark right now.
John Gimber
But you knew that about on a shame because of just growing up how it was. There was no way with Jace spot in the lineage and were your spot in the lineage and his level of success that you were ever going to be able to talk on there.
Zach Dasher
Now I will get, I'll get a word in. But what people don't realize, they don't understand our love languages. So they think, man, Jace is really rough on you. Like all the comments are like, you know, but, but they don't realize like this is how we interact.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Zach Dasher
You know, I mean that it's the conflict.
Jase Robertson
People think that we're mad at each other.
Zach Dasher
There's no man, nobody's mad.
Si Robertson
Nobody's mad.
Phil Robertson
Nobody's mad.
Jase Robertson
People think like Hunter is. Doesn't love all of us. And I'm telling you right now because Hunter doesn't have a microphone. He's the happiest person I know because he gets to come in here with us every day.
Phil Robertson
Anything that you're dealing with this bunch, hey, it's. Hey, everybody's gonna talk smack.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
You gotta be able to talk it back and take it.
Zach Dasher
That's part of it.
Phil Robertson
You gotta give it and take it.
Si Robertson
That's right.
Phil Robertson
If you, if you can't, we fixed to run you ragged.
Si Robertson
And to be fair, if you're an outsider that comes into here, you better just be able to take it.
Phil Robertson
Oh yeah.
John Gimber
Because you don't have, you don't have the, you don't have the blood to be able.
Si Robertson
I don't know, you just gotta take it.
John Gimber
You can, you, you're.
Zach Dasher
You're probably the quickest witted of all. I mean you got a quick wit.
Si Robertson
Yeah. But I mean, you know, you just got. I was raised by a bunch of paper mill hands. So I mean that's where all that come from. Because like I grew up with that. So then coming here wasn't a culture shock for me. But like you, it just felt like home. Right? Like it. So I think that's why some people in here thrive and then some people come here and struggle because then they feel like they're just getting made fun of.
Phil Robertson
Well, they can't take it.
Si Robertson
Yeah, they're just like, they're just. It's too sheltered for them when really we're just one big dadgum locker room where everybody's just. Yeah, we're going to make fun of your worst qualities. Absolutely.
Phil Robertson
Well, we're trying, we're trying to do you a favor. You got a Problem with it? Well, we're gonna rub it in your nose till you don't have a problem with it anymore.
Jase Robertson
It's basically like a kid smoking cigarettes. You just shove a pack in their mouth until they don't like it anymore.
Si Robertson
But I do. So.
Phil Robertson
So.
Si Robertson
So, Zach, you run Tread Lively, which runs all the podcasts. We're kind of, like, telling people how some of these interworking.
Jase Robertson
Zach's technically might be our boss.
Si Robertson
That's what I'm saying.
Jase Robertson
Well, he's hunter's boss.
Si Robertson
He's 50% our boss when we're in these doors.
Phil Robertson
Right.
Si Robertson
Because he's got business.
Zach Dasher
Well, y'all actually. I think y'all actually work for Duck Commander.
Si Robertson
Yeah, I don't know how.
Zach Dasher
So I have a deal with Duck. Yeah, yeah.
Si Robertson
It doesn't matter.
Zach Dasher
It doesn't matter.
Si Robertson
But anyway, so. But you would, in essence, be Hunters, direct supplies superior, right? That's correct in theory.
Jase Robertson
So I don't have a problem with Hunter.
Phil Robertson
None of you clowns.
Si Robertson
No, we love. No, we love Hunter. I just want to know what the Tread Lively handbook says about love Mark showing up on an employee.
Zach Dasher
I heard about this, and I got real nervous about the conversation.
Jase Robertson
I'm like, oh, he doesn't have a microphone.
Si Robertson
I know.
John Gimber
He's spooling wire to get keyed up.
Jase Robertson
It's all good, Hunter. We won't do it. Feel like I got to defend myself. Yeah, he's yelling. He needs to defend himself.
Zach Dasher
You try to cover it up with a band aid. I heard.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, I. I educated on that day.
Zach Dasher
What'd you tell him?
Phil Robertson
I told him. I said, hey, look, there are vampires. And they. They move at night.
Si Robertson
My favorite part was this. Like, if the people ever got a chance to see Hunter. I love him. I do. And he's. He's no doubt a shining spot in this office, but he said he put the van. The band aid over it. To be professional. A man is wearing a band T shirt.
Jase Robertson
Stand up. What T shirt is it today?
Si Robertson
So, like, he.
Jase Robertson
Nothing more. There's some sort of sword. Yeah. Sevenfold something or another.
Si Robertson
That's what I'm saying. So his argument. I was like, just take that thing off and own it, son. Like, you had a great few days.
Phil Robertson
It's a patch of honor.
Si Robertson
Yeah. Crap. Like, I was here to applaud him. He made it where it was a joke because of the band aid, and.
John Gimber
It was a great opportunity for side. Also tell another person about the birds and the bees.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Oh, I'm so excited. Martin, you want to Know why he's excited?
Si Robertson
I know why.
Jase Robertson
Because it's springtime.
Si Robertson
Yeah buddy.
Jase Robertson

Jase Robertson
I don't know how it works.
Si Robertson
Scheduling costs conflicts.
Zach Dasher
Scheduling conflicts.
Jase Robertson
Are you the boss of it?
Zach Dasher
No.
Jase Robertson
In the credits.
Zach Dasher
My name will be in the credits.
Phil Robertson
Okay, there you go.
Zach Dasher
As a producer or ep? I'm not sure.
Jase Robertson
Major producer.
Zach Dasher
So I handle a lot of the movie stuff too. We're working on a New movie.
Jase Robertson
Do you need an extra with lines.
Zach Dasher
That you're gonna cut out?
Jase Robertson
I will movie.
Zach Dasher
Appreciate it. I will. No, you were it. You were in the blind and you did have a great line.
Jase Robertson
Well, when nobody saw it.
John Gimber
I saw your face. I didn't ever hear you.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, that's because they cut it all out.
Zach Dasher
It didn't matter. Yeah, it ended up on the cutting floor. But it was. You know why, though? Because when we. When we filmed it, we got the first cut back. Well, I told the guys, I said at the beginning, I said, we gotta. You can't water down sin. You got to show the darkness of the Phil's life. And I got the first cut back and I was like, whoa, this thing is dark. So we had to go back and refilm, I think is when you came.
Jase Robertson
Yep.
Zach Dasher
Was that Monroe? Right. So we filmed three more days in Monroe. To try to fix the film or.
Phil Robertson
The lighten it up a little.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, to get a cool ZZ Top montage.
Zach Dasher
Yes.
Jase Robertson
Of sin.
Si Robertson
To be fair, I got a question. When you got with me and said you were going to send your director of photography to come film a duck, then you've duck on it enough to know hunting here is not great anyway. Yeah. Did you chuckle a little bit when you sent that guy with me with a camera lens as long as this table and saying, we got to get one duck killed for this movie? I didn't know because when he showed up, I was like, how we ain't doing this? Like, this ain't gonna work?
Zach Dasher
Like, what did he bring over? I don't know what he brought.
Si Robertson
He brought a red lens as long. Literally as long as this table. Like, and then put it on a tripod on the edge of the duck.
Zach Dasher
Oh, I figured he would figure it. I figured. Figured he would work with you. I'd figure out a way to get it on film.
Jase Robertson
Y'all did well.
Si Robertson
We got it. We got it done. But I mean, I'm just looking.
Jase Robertson
They shouldn't get edited out, man.
Si Robertson
What? I was never there. Just my mallard Drake. And he was banded, so that's kind of cool.
John Gimber
But that's awesome.
Si Robertson
Yeah, that was weird. But, like the first. So, like, it. It feels as a hunter, like the most impossible task in the world. Right. Because we video every day. And some days if the cameraman so much as moves this much, they flare. And I'm like, well, this. I mean, end of season, like, it's crap. Ain't gonna work. Like, whatever. Whatever this is. And then the first bunch come in and it was like five of them. And I was like, holy cow, what are we doing? We killed all five of them. I said, did you get that? He said, I got them fallen. I said, oh, no. Like, what? How? I mean, we're not gonna get another chance like this today. And then about lunchtime, about dinner, right about noon, here come old single Miller Drake. And he come from way away and the ball open. I was like, this is it. This is our chance. This is him. And I'm. I go down there. Are you on him? Are you on?
Jase Robertson
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Si Robertson
I said, boy. Now I was thinking, boy, don't screw this up.
Jase Robertson
Like, what if.
Si Robertson
I mean, missed. Yeah, that. That went through my mind as I was pulling the trigger on my 28 gauge, mind you. I took a little gun to do this too. I was like, let me aim small, miss small. I. I swear my eyes were closed when I pulled the trigger because I didn't want to screw up so bad. I was like as first time I've been nervous duck hunting in years. That's was for that one scene. But he.
John Gimber
But you got it done because you're a professional.
Si Robertson
Well, well, it just showed me that that movie was meant to be done and that scene was supposed to be in there to reach a lot of people.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Because I didn't get that done. The good Lord sent the dumbest Miller Drake on the planet that day and said, we go make his movie, son.
Phil Robertson
Like, I have to say this, this is for the cameraman in future.
Jase Robertson
Thanks, Hunter.
Phil Robertson
Because, hey, I took 30 minutes before daylight talking to the cameraman. I'm going to set your camera up. All you do is turn it on and record. Uh oh, do not move this camera. Director of photography goes, hey, I've got it. Where all the action's going to happen. Well, here comes 100 teal. Uh oh, coming in.
Jase Robertson
They got him.
Phil Robertson
They got right and we just mauled them. He tried to follow it. I come this close, knocking him out.
Jase Robertson
Man, that brought up something inside.
Phil Robertson
Man so mad. I said, what did I miss?
Zach Dasher
He missed the whole thing.
Phil Robertson
He missed the whole thing. I said, what did I tell you? I said, you would have had the best duck footage ever caught on camera if you'd have just done what I told you.
Jase Robertson
Thank you.
Si Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Phil Robertson
Record it. Don't move it. Record it.
Si Robertson
Can't happen.
Phil Robertson
That's the biggest problem. Okay, Because I. This is a man that's been doing this for like, good grief, 70 years.
Si Robertson
Oh, duck hunt talking about you. Yeah, okay, okay, man, that's Old camera. A lot younger than that.
Phil Robertson
No. Hey, I scared about when I was 7. For crying out loud. If I set you up your camera, then pay attention and read my lips.
Si Robertson
Oh, my favorite part was just sitting there thinking, what would Phil be saying right now with this guy on his tripod with that long of a limb like this? I mean, Phil would.
Zach Dasher
He wouldn't have done it.
Si Robertson
He'd have had a nervous burnout. He would have, like, there I am. I'm like, I will try it. Why not? Like, let's see what happens.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Throw a lot at the wall at the movie, see what sticks.
Si Robertson
Yeah, we got it done, though. It was. That was a lot of fun. No, that movie did great, man. Who to who?
Jase Robertson
My favorite part of this movie is.
Zach Dasher
What's that?
Jase Robertson
So I'm, you know, a member now of a certain union that protects my rights.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah, you're the sack.
Jase Robertson
As an actor who's all of his. I get a check every now and again, just randomly from California for the Blind.
Zach Dasher
Really?
Jase Robertson
Oh, yeah. The first one was $200 DVD sales. I was like, this is the best day. They didn't even use my face, but for two seconds. The second one, 100 DVD sales, and I was like, second best day ever. I said, man, one day, the streaming one's gonna come in, and I'm gonna be rich.
Si Robertson
I get me into pizza.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
Zach Dasher
Pizza oven.
Jase Robertson
And the streaming one finally came in, and I was like, this is it. And I was reminded that Duck Dynasty fans are a little behind and still have DVD players. $36.
Zach Dasher
36.
Jase Robertson
I spent it all in one place.
Zach Dasher
I love the. Hey, we did well on DVDs.
Jase Robertson
We did well on DVD. So, hey, head on over to Amazon. I get, like, a nickel.
John Gimber
I wanted to own it and put that next to the old Duckman videos.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Oh, boy.
Zach Dasher
Oh, that's.
Jase Robertson
So your DVD sales did well, Zach, if they're paying me to not have lines. 300 bucks.
Zach Dasher
It was. It was wild making that story, though, because it was. Man, when I talked about Spiritual Attack, and a lot of people say that when they do a movie like that, but if I felt it, you know, I knew that we were doing something important, mainly because I'd never seen Phil cry before. Yeah. And when.
Phil Robertson
When.
Zach Dasher
When I interviewed him. So when I wrote the story for it, I basically went and did interviews with the whole family. And Phil, when I was talking about. When he was talking about mom, when I tell you he broke down and started crying. I'VE never seen him like that. He just was just weeping about how thankful he was that she didn't give up on him. And I was like. In that moment, I was like, we got something here because it was so raw. And I don't think Phil had accessed that part of his story in a long time.
Phil Robertson
Well, you got to think about this, okay? He. He was so close to losing everything. Losing K. Losing his kids. Okay? And just, you know, and like I said, the rest of the family had. Had got with K and just said, hey, leave him. Divorce him, and you go ahead and get away from him and get on with your life, okay? And Jan, she jumped on everybody in our family with both feet. She said, y'all ought to be ashamed of yourself. That's your brother, for crying out loud. And she said, what you don't know is one of these days he'll bring more people to Jesus than you can even imagine. And her prophecy came true when he finally did. And you got to think about this. Here's a man that spends 95% of his time in God's creation, and he didn't know the creator.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah. Prior to that.
Phil Robertson
And then when he finally meets the Creator. Okay. And finds out about him, then it changed not only his life, it changed the whole Robertson family's life. Yeah. Okay. Because that legacy was from him, you know, forward. Yeah.
Si Robertson
Well, we certainly wouldn't be sitting here today. We may be sitting here talking into a camp. We don't know what it'd be about.
Phil Robertson
They will say, well, what about if I would come to you and said, you know, let me show you a dark side of your. Your fan, your. Your life.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
I said, have you lost your mind? I ain't doing that.
John Gimber
Well, once you. And it was a different perspective. I know me watching it because, like, I knew the story same way you knew the story. But the difference.
Phil Robertson
For.
John Gimber
I'm 50, but. And. And you're. How old are you? 46.
Zach Dasher
47.
John Gimber
47. So, like, we didn't experience that. You know, we only heard the stories. But all of our life, I mean, we. We knew Phil's a tough, rough guy just because he. But he was. But he was a changed guy when we knew him. He was a. You know, he was following Jesus. All that I remember.
Jase Robertson
You know what the worst thing is, Martin?
Si Robertson
What?
Jase Robertson
Every time my pillow has a little tough time.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Or somebody tries to cancel them or some store shoves their nose up towards Mike Lindell. It's not a good thing, but it's a good thing for me because he passes the savings straight to the customer.
Si Robertson
That's right. Look, he is a big believer and we the people. So Michael and Dale, always passing on something great. And because of your continued support, they are extending their wholesale prices on classic MyPillows for our listeners.
Jase Robertson
Wholesale prices are great.
Si Robertson
There you go. You can get standard classic MyPillows for only $14.98. I can't even believe I'm saying that. Only $14.98. But no, it gets better.
Zach Dasher
How?
Si Robertson
You know how it gets better because you can upgrade to a Queen size for 18.98 and if you're a king kind of fellow or lady, only a dollar more. 19.98. Look, you can also, while you're there, get the my body pillows for 29.98 and multi use my pillows for only 9.98. These are all prices that cannot be beat and they will not last forever. And also while you strolling around on a website, you may decide, especially as cold as it is outside, that you need a new robe. Huh, sir? Yeah, you may need a new. A thicker TV robe. You know, got to have it.
Jase Robertson
I love a robe.
Si Robertson
And if your floors in your house.
Phil Robertson
Are cold, you have to have the slippers, boys.
Si Robertson
And who wants to get out of a shower and still be wet?
Phil Robertson

Phil Robertson
Well, see, it made feel better that I was with him, but all it did was it put me in a bad spot. And it didn't help any, you know, it didn't help any because he was, you know, he was a demon case. He was the devil himself.
Zach Dasher
Were you, were you shocked when he came to know Jesus? Were you just like.
Phil Robertson
No, no, I just, you know, most people don't, don't have the opportunity to see, okay, someone that is worthless and I mean my brother was worthless at that time. And then see the Change that. Come over him. Okay. You can't have. You're just. Whoa. What happened to make that much difference in this guy's life?
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
What could do this, you know? Because, hey, Phil Robertson didn't give a flip about nobody, okay? Except yours truly. Him.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Si Robertson
That's wild, man.
Phil Robertson
The rest of it, no, you don't even exist, okay? It was me, me, me, me, me, okay? And then for him to go, me, me, me to everybody else. Yeah. Because I watched him like, mom and Daddy was always hospitable. Okay. Phil K. Got that and took it to a new level.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Okay. Because you know, some of the people that he's had at his house. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Zach Dasher
He's had some characters.
Si Robertson
I remember, first time I ended up down there, it was for house church. I didn't know. I didn't even know that's where I was going. But Phil didn't know me from Adam.
Zach Dasher
Were you a Christian?
Si Robertson
No, no.
Zach Dasher
He just shut up.
Si Robertson
No. Well, I got invited from Curly.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Who I worked with at the time up there at tp. He's like, come to house church. I was like, okay, man, I didn't know. I didn't know what house church was. Like, I grew up saying, like, we didn't do that.
Zach Dasher
Are you.
Si Robertson
Yeah, I was interested in investigating.
Zach Dasher
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Like, I see what it's about. I figured, you know, he said, we'll eat. And I was like, I mean. But then Phil saw me walk in and he's like, man, I really need to take in boards at that gate over there. And that's a big old feller. He's like, come, come. You look big and strong. Come get on the four wheeler with me.
Phil Robertson
It ain't gonna take but a little while.
Zach Dasher
It's not.
Si Robertson
I said, Mr. Phil, all I got is tennis shoes. He said, oh, yeah, you'll be fine. It's the first time I fell for that. Oh, you'll be fine. I mean, this is day one of me, Roberts.
Phil Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Si Robertson
And me and him is on four wheeler headed over to the land to take boards out of a gate. And that's to hold water, let water in, whatever. For people that don't know listening. And I caught him on a bad bath schedule, too. So I'm riding downwind of him. Like, I mean, didn't care about taking a shower once a week. My man stunk like. Like Bo.
Phil Robertson
Like I was him.
Si Robertson
Like, just awful. And I'm riding downwind the whole way on that Honda 4 traction. I'm like, got the mighty. This man Stinks. And that's the feel I've always not. Like, he gave everybody that showed up to that house the benefit of the doubt on everything. And, like. And he took that moment as a captive audience to ask me the hard questions. And he was like. I was like, nah, man, but, you know, I'm good. And he's like, yeah, oh, yeah, I bet you are. But no, but that's. So to hear you say, that's why I kind of chuckled when you said he was selfish, because I have never seen that side. Well, I'm not aware that that side. Now, obviously, we all know that it's not existed. It's because we're human. Right. Like, and everybody's got that selfish nature. But when you hear you say it, who lived it, it just kind of is funny, because I can't even imagine that side of Phil.
Phil Robertson
People that knows him, you know, after he met Jesus.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Totally different guy.
John Gimber
Well. And you got to. And see, part of his skill set that none of us have that you don't want is because he was so rough and raw and the strongest, toughest, you know, meanest of them all.
Phil Robertson
Oh, yeah. Who's a man.
John Gimber
He's not a. He wasn't scared of nobody. I mean, so, like, the people that he would open up to and invite in were people that we would be a little bit wary of.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah.
John Gimber
And he didn't. He didn't have that.
Si Robertson
No, he just.
Jase Robertson
People would lock the doors.
Si Robertson
Yeah. No, he wouldn't ever make it in the house. Like, I mean, even me, back in the day, you'd probably said, nah, I think you. You probably would just do this on the porch. Yeah, we ain't coming inside.
John Gimber
No, it's ins. God find you a place to stay.
Zach Dasher
You don't have fear. I told this story on the Unashamed podcast today. We were on. This is Phil right here. But it'll explain this.
Phil Robertson
Hey.
Zach Dasher
As we were on a plane coming back from.
Jase Robertson
This is the best story of all time.
Zach Dasher
Somewhere I can't remember.
Jase Robertson
I love this one.
Zach Dasher
I mean, it was crazy. And. And all of a sudden, we're in a King Air, and I just hear an explosion. Like, it sounds like a shotgun going off. Just boom. And then a sucking sound. I mean, and I'm thinking, this is. I mean, we're done. So he grabbed Bear. My son was on the plane, grabbed Bear, threw him in the seat. And the first thing out of Phil's mouth was he looked. He just said, well, boys, looks like it's resurrection time. And I'M like, we're about to die.
Jase Robertson
It's judgment Day.
Phil Robertson
And you're instant.
Zach Dasher
Like, what comes out of the man is. It's resurrection time. I was like, okay. It's just a different level, man.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Different level of faith right there. Like, everybody else be scared.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. But you got to think about that, okay? Because people have asked us on this podcast, you know, what about death? I said, hey, I ain't worried about death. The change of address.
John Gimber
Come on.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. And that's what I'm talking about. Because when people said, you know, all this junk. And I said, hey, look, I know the man that raises dead men, for crying out loud, and he's promised he'll do it for me. I said, hey, I ain't.
Jase Robertson
We just went a little unashamed right there.
Zach Dasher
We did. That was good.
Si Robertson
The difference is we laugh for 40.
Jase Robertson
Minutes and we just slap you with Jesus. Right?
Phil Robertson
Yeah. Well, hey, look, when you talk about Jesus, you got to get serious.
Si Robertson
Oh, I guarantee you. No.
Phil Robertson
Well.
Si Robertson
And the impact that one man. And that's why, like, if you're listening to this, you could be that next one man. Like, nobody know, nobody hand pick Phil.
Phil Robertson
I gotta crack you on that. Yes. He was handpicked.
Si Robertson
Well, I understand that, but I'm saying, a guy from. From Dixie, Louisiana, there's no reason Phil Robertson should have changed the world based off a circumstance.
Phil Robertson
I'm saying one man. Hey, here's the. Here's what you learned from this podcast today. One man can make a difference.
Si Robertson
Oh, I guarantee.
Jase Robertson
And.
Phil Robertson
Okay. And one young lady can make a difference.
Jase Robertson
That's what I was gonna say. It. It. If you're listening to this podcast, you might not be Phil, but you can be Jan. Amen. And the verse I'm gonna send. Are we ready for that?
Si Robertson
Yeah, let's do it.
Jase Robertson
First, I'm gonna send us out of here. To me is what Jan represented in that time. Galatians 6, 9. Let us not become weary in doing good. Which, you know, size point of the story was everybody else was ready to write them off, but not Jan. For at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Si Robertson
And that's all.
Phil Robertson
There's a time for everything.
John Gimber
Right?
Phil Robertson
He's even got it written down in his holy word. There's a time for everything.
Si Robertson
Amen.
Phil Robertson
Okay.
Si Robertson
All right. Well, good.
Jase Robertson
Now.
Si Robertson
Thank y'all, nephews.
Zach Dasher
Good.
Si Robertson
Thank y'all.
Jase Robertson
It's fun.
Zach Dasher
Always good to be here.
Si Robertson
Y'all come back anytime you want to.
Phil Robertson
We're.
Si Robertson
We're always welcome, but we'll see y'all next time. Right here on the duck call room. We're out. See ya, Hunter. Fix it and post.
Zach Dasher
It.
