Si Robertson
Now. Rucker trying to become a regular. He ain't bucking the system.
Willie Robertson
I'm just here, man. You know, people call me, they're like, hey, can you come by? I'm like, I'll push everything.
Jase Robertson
Recovery.
Willie Robertson
What's that?
Jase Robertson
Are you part of celebrate recovery? Okay.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Phil Robertson
He's got a little bit.
Si Robertson
He got the uniform on.
Phil Robertson
He got the uniform on. Well, I thought he was wearing cop clothes there for a minute.
Willie Robertson
Well, prior to being here, I had to meet with a couple of degenerates. You know, do they rent from you? You try to have some identifying things that separate you from them.
Si Robertson
Well, now you get to talk to three more degenerates.
Jase Robertson
And your problem, Rucker, is you need clothing to help separate you from the degenerate.
Willie Robertson
Look, I mean, that's the thing.
Si Robertson
Next time, can I recommend sleeves?
Willie Robertson
There was a point in time when we seriously had a discussion on if I should cover my tattoo.
Si Robertson
We still ain't got that woman a bikini?
Willie Robertson
No.
Si Robertson
Okay.
Willie Robertson
It's part of the testimony, man.
Si Robertson
Is it? You got it?
Jase Robertson
Yeah. You have a tattoo of a bikini clad lady?
Willie Robertson
Scandally clad.
Jase Robertson
Scandalier.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
That's a new word, is it?
Willie Robertson
Not scandaly? I'm from the.
Si Robertson
I think it's.
Jase Robertson
I think it's scantily.
Willie Robertson
Scantily?
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
All right. Yeah, yeah.
Si Robertson
I think it's with a T, not a D. But you are the guy that couldn't say plethora and. Oh, yeah, yeah, paraphila. But anyway, welcome back to the duck call room, ladies and Gentlemen, we're just. That feels kind of like 2014. We got the boss in here. We got. And we got Rucker, so. It's like the old days running around there, man.
Phil Robertson
Maybe I ought to give a your alert.
Si Robertson
Okay.
Phil Robertson
It ain't no telling what we're going to get into today, boys.
Willie Robertson
Oh, like an Amber Alert.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Si Robertson
Hey, time out. Now that's a little serious. That's a little. That's a little on edge there.
Phil Robertson
Kind of a family podcast.
Si Robertson
Keep it.
Phil Robertson
Let's not get too crude.
Si Robertson
Not in the first minute anyways.
Phil Robertson
You know, but you never know when you know.
Si Robertson
Well, boss, how's it been? Welcome back to the.
Jase Robertson
Am I playing the role of Johnny D today?
Si Robertson
You can yell as much as you want. You can. You can jump up and down. You can yell. You can.
Jase Robertson
I need my logoed out computer and the only. Maybe I should use my phone.
Willie Robertson
It just awkwardly look at the cameras.
Si Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
And just laugh at sigh.
Willie Robertson
Right?
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
It's a gig that works. If you're.
Jase Robertson
So he's not here. He's on vacation.
Si Robertson
He's in Disney.
Jase Robertson
So I am filling in. Technically, am I assisting him?
Si Robertson
I guess maybe the roles have reversed a little bit. Johnny D, you're really a full circle.
Phil Robertson
Thank you.
Jase Robertson
You've been assisted.
Phil Robertson
Well. Well, since you said that, what have you been up to here lately?
Jase Robertson
Just assisting Johnny D. Yeah, but I.
Phil Robertson
Mean, how's that going?
Jase Robertson
Well, I just started today's first day.
Phil Robertson
Okay.
Jase Robertson
I do have my phone. I look up some fact.
Si Robertson
I'm going to be interested to see how it pays.
Jase Robertson
I don't think I can do Johnny D's fake laugh.
Si Robertson
I don't.
Jase Robertson
He's got a great fake laugh. I've heard it a bunch.
Willie Robertson
It's kind of like a squeal. Then he pushes.
Si Robertson
Is it how y'.
Phil Robertson
All.
Si Robertson
Is it how y' all communicated on the road?
Jase Robertson
A lot of fake laughing.
Phil Robertson
All the fake laughing.
Jase Robertson
Hey, speaking of, I was just in.
Si Robertson
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Jase Robertson
Okay, South Carolina. I was speaking to a group. It was called Jubilee. And I thought it was religious, but it wasn't. It was a well trigger. Well triggers. Well drillers. Well drill like water well drillers. Yeah, yeah. Lovely group.
Si Robertson
Yeah, that's something.
Jase Robertson
The lady in charge, when I was getting set up, I had Chad Creer.
Si Robertson
With me and at least you save some money.
Jase Robertson
She.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, that's it. Oh, squeaky.
Jase Robertson
So she says, oh, I was hoping you would have brought Johnny D. And I said, oh, did you know. Did have I worked with you before when he was my assistant. She said no. I've heard him on the podcast. Oh, Johnny is podcast famous now.
Si Robertson
Oh, man. He's. He took pictures. So he's been keeping up with or I've been keeping. I don't know. He just texts me all the time while he's on vacation. But he's been taking pictures at Disney with podcast fans and he is now a Buc ee celebrity. He's officially taken his first picture inside of Buc ee. So Johnny D right now is really feeling himself. He's. He's.
Jase Robertson
But how did he learn how to become a celebrity?
Si Robertson
I don't. I may be from taking all the pictures of you through all them years. You never know. Maybe being the guy who had to take the pictures of you everywhere.
Jase Robertson
I was up here the other day working and he walks through that back door and it looked like daggone Brad Pitt walked. I mean he comes in sunglasses like he is dad gum.
Willie Robertson
Oh yeah.
Jase Robertson
Washtow Parish famous. Like. I'm like, look at this cat.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. He's coming into his own.
Jase Robertson
No longer just looking at the ground, looking lost and confused. He came in like a. Like a little junior boss.
Si Robertson
He also picks up his feet now when he walks, which is a major. That's a major upgrade because that's how he was coming down the hall at the office.
Jase Robertson
Lost all that way. Now he can pick him up around. He's like.
Willie Robertson
He's feeling limber.
Jase Robertson
He's walking light. He's in Disney. Actually, I did send him a photo at the Myrtle beach airport. There is a sign for. That's called Johnny D Waffles and him that and he sent me a bunch of photos from his journey.
Si Robertson
From his journey.
Jase Robertson
Waffles.
Si Robertson
Oh, man.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, look, he's reaching the next level.
Si Robertson
There you go. He really is.
Jase Robertson
It's been just like Rucker. He's gonna be like Rucker man. When you became famous on Duck Dynasty.
Willie Robertson
There was a brief in history where I was a.
Jase Robertson
You were the man cool looking guy.
Phil Robertson
Well, back to you're still cool looking.
Willie Robertson
I try to look cool. It takes a lot more.
Si Robertson
You sold me that bucket full of snow cone. That was awesome.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, the BR5000.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Speaking of you and JD so you're working celebrate recovery today pretty hard. John D. Is always at the that the honey hole. Honey hole. The hh just free advertising. I get the word out.
Willie Robertson
Well, I mean, hey, it's all. I'm just trying to help people with hurts, habits and hang ups, man.
Jase Robertson
You know, at least yours is noble.
Willie Robertson
Wow.
Si Robertson
I Thought you were gonna end that with hangovers. I didn't know it was hang up.
Willie Robertson
We're trying to keep them from hangovers.
Phil Robertson
Well, I was thinking you're never gonna run. You're gonna never short of.
Si Robertson
Of that hurts. Habits and hang ups.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Oh, we all got them, everybody. We all got them.
Phil Robertson
Always a full house. Yeah.
Si Robertson
Oh, man.
Phil Robertson
Back to my little bates. What did you talk to the drillers about?
Jase Robertson
I just gave him some funny stories and told him a little bit about how Duck Commander came about and how I started in business and then ended with a little faith and. Yeah, my regular. Your regular deal stick there? That I do. It was in an auditorium. It was actually. It was weird. It was like a. Like, it was like a civic center type thing. But then they were at the end. So there's a big room. Yeah, big room. And. Oh, you know what? Somebody said something. Oh, okay. So I'm at the Myrtle beach airport. Wow, this is a lot happened. So I stop at a chicken place called Chick Fil A. Okay.
Si Robertson
Wasn't Sunday.
Jase Robertson
So we. Yeah, it was Monday.
Si Robertson
There we go.
Jase Robertson
The young lady looks at me and she says, oh, my gosh, you look. And then she stops. She goes, have you ever seen the show Duck Dynasty? And I said, I have heard of that show. And she says, you look just like one of the guys from that show. And Chad was really pouring around. He goes, which one? Which one does he look like?
Phil Robertson
Yeah, which one?
Jase Robertson
She's like, I don't know. It's not the old one with the beard. It's like his son or something. Chad said, willie. And she goes, that's his name. You look just like Willie. And I said, oh, that's cool. And then I placed my order. And then she says, what's the name on the order? And I said, willie never said a word.
Phil Robertson
Nothing.
Jase Robertson
Just went, okay, we'll have it down for you. And then came back to it and never come back. Never come back to it.
Si Robertson
Oh, I was kind of hoping you were going to say Jace or something to just see her reaction, but she already didn't know.
Jase Robertson
I think Chad would have said Jay. She probably would have said, that's it.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, whatever. Yeah, that's him.
Willie Robertson
She was needing a little bit.
Jase Robertson
When I said the name on the order was Willie, she did not. I mean, literally wasn't like, oh, that is nothing.
Si Robertson
And she obviously didn't look at your card when you paid or. Or anything. Or did you pay cash? Oh, Chad there.
Jase Robertson
Technically I paid, but.
Si Robertson
But it was. It was on Chad. Chad Keep that receipt. Yeah, yeah, keep that receipt and turn that in when we get back. That'll be fine. Phil Robertson
Duck one more time.
Willie Robertson
What is a Monday Chick Fil a order for Willie.
Jase Robertson
Oh, really? This is a good question.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, I mean, because I'm just sitting here thinking about the story and I haven't had lunch yet. So now I'm just really curious if.
Si Robertson
It'S like every other restaurant. Well, Willie, it's one of everything.
Jase Robertson
Somebody at this. Oh, heck, I'll give it some in the room. If someone in the room can guess what I ordered, I will give them a thousand.
Si Robertson
What meal time was it on these.
Willie Robertson
Talking money now, are we?
Jase Robertson
Thousand dollars.
Willie Robertson
All right, all right. Can I ask some questions for context? No questions.
Jase Robertson
For $10, I'll let you ask 10.
Phil Robertson
Questions.
Jase Robertson
And you still that rabbit right out of here.
Phil Robertson
You want to get off, though?
Willie Robertson
For $990?
Si Robertson
I just want to know what time of day was. Is that fair? That's a fair one.
Jase Robertson
This would have been a. This early morning situation.
Willie Robertson
Situation just off the flight or pre flight?
Jase Robertson
Pre flight.
Willie Robertson
Pre flight.
Jase Robertson
This is starting the day.
Willie Robertson
Okay.
Jase Robertson
This is the start. Now, you don't know what time I woke up. You don't know if I ate breakfast before this one o' clock situation.
Si Robertson
Golly. I want to.
Jase Robertson
I will tell you. This is a little clue. The flight was slightly delayed.
Willie Robertson
Oh, so now you're stress eating. Okay, here we go.
Si Robertson
Now there's one thing.
Jase Robertson
I got delayed later.
Si Robertson
Yeah, I'm about to say there's one thing you know, you ain't got to worry about. He don't stress.
Jase Robertson
I don't need to say stress eat.
Si Robertson
He may stress sleep in like the sky club, but he ain't going to stress eat.
Jase Robertson
I'm off that.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, I'm a classic.
Phil Robertson
Stress up the. Fill up the menu for.
Jase Robertson
I'm.
Phil Robertson
I've.
Si Robertson
I got the menu pulled up. Well, I was wondering. I couldn't remember what all was on there for. I just. Man, I don't. I don't even know. I mean, one thing I feel like is a large unsweet tea.
Willie Robertson
Oh, yeah, they're.
Jase Robertson
Since it was one, you all had to put in your guess. So you don't. Oh, I'm not. I'm not.
Willie Robertson
I'm gonna just keep it.
Jase Robertson
I'm not letting the third one get off with two correct.
Si Robertson
It's so weird. I mean, I'm just gonna go the most off the wall Willie thing ever. A large grilled nugget, a fruit cup, and an unsweet tea. That's what.
Jase Robertson
All right, that's your guess.
Willie Robertson
Random.
Si Robertson
I mean, it's just so random. I don't know.
Jase Robertson
He's saying recovery let's hear what you.
Willie Robertson
I think, uh, let's just go classic. Give me a Chick Fil. A sandwich, some cheese on it, and some fries.
Jase Robertson
You sound like you're ordering it.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Like you're guessing a game. You sound like you're at the drive through.
Willie Robertson
Well, I just. I mean, hey, you know. You know, you're. You're traveling.
Phil Robertson
They grill chicken.
Si Robertson
They grill. They got. That's why I said grilled nuggets.
Phil Robertson
Oh, no. Grilled chicken sandwich. Okay. With waffle fries.
Si Robertson
Okay.
Willie Robertson
All of their fries are waffles.
Si Robertson
Willie's gonna walk out of there with a.
Jase Robertson
Take a.
Si Robertson
You want a freaking yogurt? Yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
Thousand dollars.
Phil Robertson
Hey, get in here, Hunter. Get in the stuff.
Jase Robertson
You can just yell it. Well, we're fine.
Si Robertson
What is it?
Jase Robertson
These are the people.
Si Robertson
Hunter, you go. You go first.
Jase Robertson
Deluxe with chicken nuggets and unsweet tea.
Si Robertson
Okay.
Willie Robertson
Oh, no. Fries.
Jase Robertson
Two entrees. I mean, fries come with it.
Si Robertson
Oh, well.
Willie Robertson
Oh, so also fries, Cob salad.
Si Robertson
Cob salad, man.
Jase Robertson
Been on a healthy nugget.
Si Robertson
Wow. I just.
Jase Robertson
See, that's what I was.
Phil Robertson
How.
Willie Robertson
How.
Si Robertson
If Willie orders the airport. If Willie orders an airport salad, I'm now drinking.
Jase Robertson
Hey, if this is Price is Right.
Si Robertson
Yeah, everybody.
Jase Robertson
Crap.
Phil Robertson
Everybody. Miss.
Willie Robertson
Not even close.
Jase Robertson
Okay, here's what I got. Here's what I got. Now, y' all should know I really love that piment and cheese thing they had going, but. Yeah, so that was not an option. So I got a spicy chicken sandwich with a club sandwich with pepper jack cheese. Took two of the buns off, combined it into a double. A double icy club with only one set of buns, one waffle fry, and a medium unsweetened. Okay, that's a.
Si Robertson
That's a Willie.
Jase Robertson
That's it.
Si Robertson
That's. I should have went with my first one. Just one of everything, because that's basically.
Jase Robertson
What he did away with that. I comboed them and threw the two buns away. If you would have just called the.
Si Robertson
The club and the.
Jase Robertson
And the spice and the spicy Ditch the buns, make one. I was thinking about telling them at Chick Fil. A that they should consider that being an option.
Si Robertson
The Willie. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Phil Robertson
Call it the Willie.
Jase Robertson
That would just. I just think we just saved the world a set of bonds.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, well, it's like all these places have these, like, secret menus apparently. Like, you could go to a drive through and order something that they don't have on the menu, but apparently the workers there know what it is. Oh, yeah.
Si Robertson
You know, well, that's what's great about Chick Fil A's app. Like when I eat lunch there, I get two grilled chicken breasts with jalapenos and pepper jack cheese in a bowl. I don't like their buns. Oh. It's kind of weird. I just don't.
Jase Robertson
Well, I told you I was going to tell them to put that in, but then I realized that that'll probably cost them money.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
So you're making more money selling the. You know, the bun is cheap and I don't need them just needing the.
Si Robertson
That's what I love about the.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
I like that. Spicy jumping up against. Because you got bacon. Grilled spice.
Si Robertson
One of the greatest things that happens. All these restaurants made the apps because now you can order what you truly want. You don't have to like hold up the line when you're like, no. You just put in like Johnny's Pizza app. Unbelievable. Yeah. You can make your dream Johnny's Pizza.
Jase Robertson
There's a problem I've got with that. I'm struggling with finding it, making it well done.
Willie Robertson
Oh, yeah, yeah. The brick.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
They need to fix that.
Si Robertson
Yeah. They used to.
Phil Robertson
They.
Si Robertson
It was an option when it first.
Jase Robertson
I know it and I, I knew.
Si Robertson
So you know what I do?
Jase Robertson
I said I have done this before.
Si Robertson
If you go to recently ordered, you can reorder your well done. That's your cheat code to get your Johnny's Pizza well done.
Jase Robertson
I've ordered a few since then.
Si Robertson
So it's still be. It'll still might not. It'll still be.
Willie Robertson
They do a full history.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, I've been into that. Yeah. They need to. They need to fix that. That. Put that back when you're ordering on an app.
Phil Robertson
I don't know.
Si Robertson
We did order a pizza and have delivered here the other day. Blue size. Mine.
Phil Robertson
I ain't even got a phone to have an app.
Si Robertson
But he's open to being taught an iPhone.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Also on a recent trip. Speaking of Airport. Airport D gate D8. If I say D8, what is the first thing? Does anybody anything jump to your mind?
Si Robertson
D8.
Jase Robertson
It should be Popeyes Chicken. Now let's switch over to another chicken plate. If I'm anywhere in the vicinity of the early Ds, I'm at Popeyes Chicken and.
Si Robertson
Oh, in Atlanta.
Jase Robertson
In Atlanta.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
Ats. So there's a situation that we order off the board. But the lowest chicken tenders I can find option wise is 15. And I don't, you know, and I'm up here and I'M looking. Most people just go ask, but I'm like, you know, if you challenge me, I'll take, you know.
Willie Robertson
Right.
Jase Robertson
I got 15 spicy.
Willie Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
And I tell you, I made the best effort I could. I could not consume them all. I made through about 11 of them.
Si Robertson
That reminds me when the artist formerly known as the intern was still here. Jennifer, when she was pregnant with her first. I walked in one time and she had a in peace chicken tender from Papa. She said it's because it was like the Toucan Dine deal. She said I just wanted two biscuits and this seemed like the easiest way to get them. I'm like, all you got to do is tell them an extra biscuit.
Willie Robertson
Tell them you need extra.
Jase Robertson
I know, but I. They set it up where they don't want communication. They want it all through the board. They don't want any talking through the board. So I was just like, screw it. I'll get 15 chicken tenders. I see how far I can get there, you know, like, let's go.
Willie Robertson
I'll tell you the one thing I do have an issue with and that's pulling up to the drive thru and I have to order to a AI robot.
Si Robertson
Oh, you better. Taco Bell. Huh?
Willie Robertson
They don't have a person that takes your order.
Jase Robertson
So it's like Taco Bell AI now.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah, yeah. When you pull up, it's all, it's all AI unless you, unless you know the extra steak.
Jase Robertson
And it was like, I'm fixing to go there. I've been there since.
Willie Robertson
It's been not a fun experience.
Jase Robertson
I went to Taco Bell every day, but I went in.
Si Robertson
Yeah. If you go to the drive thru, it's all a. Yeah, it's 100%.
Willie Robertson
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Si Robertson
It's. It's.
Jase Robertson
Is it good? I mean, is it better?
Si Robertson
I don't always have a mobile order the few.
Willie Robertson
It didn't work well for me because I like to customize items. You know what I'm saying?
Si Robertson
That's what the app like.
Jase Robertson
It could be the most customized. Like it's AI. It's not like getting confused or they.
Willie Robertson
Don'T have chat Jet GPT at the. I mean, this is, this is literally.
Jase Robertson
I mean, Taco Bells I've been to, it is Chat Jap gt.
Willie Robertson
This is bottom tier AI. Okay. This isn't like the stuff Elon's using.
Si Robertson
Well, I mean, it's.
Phil Robertson
This is getting insane.
Si Robertson
It's Taco Bell.
Willie Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Si Robertson
Okay. They got it.
Jase Robertson
When you're at Taco Bell ordering no, he's not talking.
Phil Robertson
Don't even go.
Jase Robertson
There ain't a Taco Bell.
Si Robertson
No.
Phil Robertson
Well, I like tacos, but I mean.
Si Robertson
He don't stop talking.
Phil Robertson
This AI bull.
Jase Robertson
We have. We have finally 20 years gotten size.
Phil Robertson
They're killing the old people with all this crap.
Martin
All right, here's the thing, Martin. We're citizens of a republic. The decisions our government makes, even if we want to ignore them, affect us. Every day affects our lives. And to be a good citizen, you need to. You probably need to know what the Constitution says.
Si Robertson
You need to read it, you need to understand it. And that way you're not one of those people out there spouting off it's unconstitutional when I don't even know what that means.
Martin
When people.
Si Robertson
Matter of fact, it's actually very constitutional. Our friends over at Hillsdale College can help you out. And they are offering a brand new free online course called the Federalist. In the Federalist Papers, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison, two of Phil Robertson's favorite people, explain how the Constitution established a government strong enough to secure our rights to and safe enough to wield that power. And today, it's our responsibility to pay attention, to be vigilant, they might say. To preserve and to protect Republican self government. Hillsdale's online course, the Federalist, has 10 lectures, each about 30 minutes long. You can take the course at your own pace, and it's absolutely free. Plus, Hillsdale offers more than 40 other free online courses too, including one on CS Lewis, the stories in the book of Genesis, the rise and fall of the Roman Republic, or the history of the ancient Christian Church. Again, all for free. So if you're like, I know the Constitution front and back, I don't need to sign up for the Federalist. There's out of 40 of them. There's something you can learn because knowledge is power. So you're sitting there doing nothing. Teach yourself something. I mean, look, Godwin sat down there building duck calls, learning all about the Constitution. So I know. Tell him what he's learned now that he's retired and if he'd ever come back up here, we could find out. But he's just busy, too busy learning. He's become a learned man. Go right now to Hillsdale Edu slash to enroll. There's no cost and it's easy to get started. That's Hillsdale Edu slash to enroll for free. One more time. Hillsdale Edu Rucker.
Jase Robertson
Can I jump back to one thing? What exactly are you trying to customize at Taco Bell? Well, Like, I just was thinking about that. Like, what. What's the big changes that.
Si Robertson
Also known as Willie's looking for a new order.
Willie Robertson
It's not an exciting order. So. So. So I was with my. My son Noah, 15 years old, and so he's in that stage of like, look, just give me a burrito with extra ground beef and some nacho cheese. That's all he wants on it. But at Taco Bell, they don't just.
Phil Robertson
Have.
Si Robertson
A kids menu.
Willie Robertson
Beef and cheese.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. No, you got to take all this other junk off of it.
Willie Robertson
So I'm trying to reason with the.
Jase Robertson
With the. With the AI the computer is not reasoning.
Willie Robertson
Is that reasoning with me?
Si Robertson
I'm not. Because you're French and India, not Mexican.
Willie Robertson
That's what I'm saying.
Phil Robertson
Get the reason with it. You may logic.
Jase Robertson
You may should have went in on the board. Yeah, maybe. I think you could customize that better.
Willie Robertson
The kiosk is probably better, actually, because.
Jase Robertson
I went into Taco Bell recently. This past week, I went in, I customized it, and I was like, this is kind of easy, and this is way better. Until I unwrapped it, and I specifically said no lettuce and had lettuce. Oh, yeah, yeah, There you go. I mean, I literally punched the thing.
Phil Robertson
Oh, that's what I'm talking about.
Willie Robertson
Well, because now people have all that.
Phil Robertson
Cottage cheese on a taco.
Jase Robertson
College cheese.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, it's something they put in this sour cream. Sour cream?
Jase Robertson
Yeah. You got cottage cheese. Something went really wrong.
Phil Robertson
Sour cream. And hey. Like you was talking about. I said, hey, no sour cream. What happens when I open it up?
Jase Robertson
Oh, just everywhere. Like a dirty diaper.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, it's oozing sour cream everywhere.
Willie Robertson
I just question, based on you telling the story, is it possible you said no cottage cheese?
Phil Robertson
No, no. Cause, hey, I'll give you a deal. They finally. When I was out with the band, I had to have a. Hold on. I had to have a phone so they could contact to me. Yeah, well, look, they tried to make it idiot proof, which is impossible with me.
Jase Robertson
Right?
Phil Robertson
Okay. So look, I hit home button to turn it on, and what come up was, hey, blankety, blank, blank. This thing cusses me out using the F word.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
So I said the phone cut.
Phil Robertson
Hey, the phone cussed me out. AI is running amok.
Jase Robertson
AI cussed you out?
Si Robertson
Hey, the good news is, though, if you'd like to, I can share his location with you because he's got an air tag on him at all times now. Smoke.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, I got a hair tag On.
Si Robertson
Yeah, we put it on his. We put it on his.
Jase Robertson
He's like. He's like my dog. Labrador, retriever.
Si Robertson
You just got to keep up where he is.
Jase Robertson
Where's Sa.
Phil Robertson
He truly half tag. Airtag. Will travel.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
You got a little case for it.
Si Robertson
Yeah. When you pull up five, my friends, it's under gun smoke. We can. We can share his location with you in case you ever need to know where the old man is.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Wow. We're waiting for the day he's in.
Jase Robertson
A lot of exotic locations.
Si Robertson
We're just waiting here or.
Willie Robertson
Or the house.
Jase Robertson
I won't even say if I wouldn't.
Phil Robertson
Be a Christian, I would be in a lot of exotic locations.
Jase Robertson
If you wasn't a Christian, I don't know that you'd be alive. Right?
Phil Robertson
Well, no, I probably wouldn't.
Jase Robertson
Right.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, that's. You're probably. That is probably true. Okay, I'll probably.
Willie Robertson
Same here, man.
Phil Robertson
Hey.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
There's only so many times you could.
Phil Robertson
Well, it's just, you know, that's why when I'm. I'm speaking, and especially when I got kids, you know, if I was a parent, I wouldn't let my child at 10 years old have. Have a phone. Wouldn't it?
Si Robertson
Ah, yeah. I don't know most that give them full access to a phone at 10.
Phil Robertson
Oh, hey, I see them all the time.
Si Robertson
Yeah, they may be a little older than you think. Well, and I'm not taking.
Willie Robertson
I mean, there's parental controls you can put on. I mean, you know, it's a battle, everything.
Phil Robertson
So, you know, it was. It was made to be good, but leave it to a human being to turn it. To use it for bad.
Jase Robertson
So are we, right? So are you.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no. Yeah. No, no.
Si Robertson
We started out all right. Till the second one got here. Oh, man. Lord, we go unashamed. If we need to, we can. But while we got you here, boss, we're wrapping up the first season of the revival. What? What? How have your kids and in laws impressed you? Or what are your takeaways from working that closely with them now for that.
Jase Robertson
Long, it's been like a revival.
Si Robertson
It's a revival.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. You know, like a revival. Like a church has a revival to get everybody fired up. So, yeah, I feel kind of fired up again about my family. And it was really fun. Yeah, a lot of fun. Yeah, a lot of. I mean, it's long and it's. You know, it's a little difficult, but it's. You spend that much time together and, you know, you look back and. Which is kind of way I felt about Doug Nasty, like, all the time. Like, we were saying, if it weren't for Doug Dynasty, my kids probably wouldn't know Uncle Si that well. I mean, you know what I'm saying?
Si Robertson
Like, yeah, he'd just be the hermit.
Jase Robertson
They didn't know any of the other uncles, really. They didn't hang out a lot. So because of the show, they were able to hang out a lot. So, yeah, I really enjoyed it. Yeah. Learned a lot about him. You've got a.
Si Robertson
Anybody surprise you.
Phil Robertson
We'Re getting, right?
Si Robertson
This is a. This is a safe space.
Phil Robertson
No, this is not.
Willie Robertson
What happened to your space?
Si Robertson
Hey, I'm not talking about bad surprise, good surprise. Like, I mean, there's, like. I'll be honest. I saw Jacob Mayo come out of his shell. Like, I mean, of what he put on around here. Like, that was. That was a surprising to me. So, I mean, that's the kind of not.
Jase Robertson
I think, Bella. Yeah, for sure, too.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no. They're all coming out and, you know, coming into their.
Jase Robertson
They're coming out of their cocoons.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. Well, the neatest thing to me was about either Duck Dynasty and the revival is that if you spend that much time with someone, usually there are issues and everybody goes crazy. And it was actually a really nice testimony for the Roberson family that we spent that much time together and we still love each other and like to be around each other. No, I'm serious.
Jase Robertson
It really is three generations.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
You think about three generations.
Phil Robertson
It's actually fun to watch them growing up.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah. You ain't ever watched a show I.
Phil Robertson
Didn'T know Lady John Luke and all the rest of. They all grew up on Duck Dynasty.
Si Robertson
For crying out loud.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
And then you'll hear they are married and got their own kids, and now they're all growing up.
Jase Robertson
They're on the revival.
Willie Robertson
The cool thing, too, just from my perspective, is, like, you'll see how their lives and story unfold from this point on for them, right? Like, if not for Doug Dynasty, I'm not here. I don't know any of y', all, and I'm just a guy that, you know, ended up working here. And so it's like, how does that unfold for them in the future, right? Like, them having this opportunity, growing up, becoming into their own. What? Well, that's Brian Rucker's will they experience.
Phil Robertson
That's one of the cool things about it, is all the people that will touch us doing it and all the people that you know that they will touch, you know, because it's a. It's a roll down effect, you know, the ripple effect. Those stone in water hit splash and then the ripple effect goes out. So that's the cool part of it because we all meet people, okay? And they become part of our lives. Okay. And they become. A lot of them come become close friends like you. And that's amazing. It's important.
Jase Robertson
Touching me. Touching you?
Phil Robertson
Oh, no. Sweet Caroline.
Jase Robertson
In the words of.
Si Robertson
Goodbye, baby, I'm just. You can sing that song without drinking, man.
Phil Robertson
That's cool.
Jase Robertson
I did an interview the other day and someone asked me who. Who is. Who is the most different from Duck Dynasty to the revival? So I'll ask y' all that question. I will repurpose that question.
Willie Robertson
Most different like.
Jase Robertson
And then see if you say what I said different like. Who's changed the most from what you saw in Duck Dynasty to the revival?
Si Robertson
Oh, man, I'm scared to answer.
Jase Robertson
No, I'm scared. You just thought I stumped you with that leg combo.
Phil Robertson
I'm thinking. And I say me because I've got a little more lippy.
Si Robertson
You.
Jase Robertson
I don't know, man.
Willie Robertson
I don't know.
Jase Robertson
Let me tell you something.
Si Robertson
The only thing that's changed. I don't know if I changed about.
Jase Robertson
You is your mobility. That mouth is identical.
Si Robertson
Yeah. The only thing changed about you is you now require a little oxygen to get from point A to point B. And you don't have glasses anymore other than that.
Phil Robertson
And. And everywhere I go, I gotta have my little scooter to ride.
Si Robertson
You ain't got to.
Phil Robertson
You just.
Si Robertson
You're doing this to prove a point.
Phil Robertson
No, I. No, I've got to.
Si Robertson
No, you don't stop.
Phil Robertson
I do.
Si Robertson
You just like making difficult on them boys. You like watching that cat. You like watching what's his name rolling into the back of that minivan every time. That's the only reason you it. Make him load it and unload it.
Phil Robertson
No, that's not true.
Si Robertson
You know what the new American dream is?
Martin
Being dead up to their eyeballs.
Si Robertson
No, that's not the dream. That's the reality. The new American dream is to get out of debt, just to be debt free. And if you're feeling the pressure from rising prices, mounting credit card debt, and just trying to stay afloat, we want you to know that there is a way out. And that's our friends over at Done With Debt. They have one goal. To break you free from debt permanently. They're not pushing loans or bankruptcy Instead, they're tough negotiators. Go straight to your creditors, slashing what you owe, wiping out interest, and eliminating penalties. And they do not stop until your debt is gone. And the best part, most clients see more money in their pocket in the first month. You've worked too hard to let debt steal your future. With done with debt, your dream of being debt free is actually possible. It's happened to everybody at some point. Right. Like, you get in a bind, you lose the job, unsuspected medical bills. You don't know what's going to happen.
Jase Robertson
I had.
Martin
I had a moment because I remember.
Si Robertson
The first time I signed the dotted line to pay for my house. I mean, I agreed I was going to pay for the house I live in. I was like, now do what this is for how long? But it happens. That's what I'm saying. So nobody's immune to this. Right? So look, if you're right there in it and you feel like you're stuck in an endless cycle, check our friends out with done with debt. Visit donewithdebt.com to talk to one of their experts. It's completely free. But some of their solutions are time sensitive, so don't wait. Go to donewithdebt.com that's donewithdebt.com I think.
Willie Robertson
The easy answer for me, serious answer, would be Sadie, because now, now she's a mom, she has her family, teenager when we left her. Yeah. You know, and so, like, who is ch. I mean, that's. Life changed. I mean, you go from being a teenager to now you're a parent. You have a successful podcast and brand.
Jase Robertson
That was my second answer.
Willie Robertson
Really?
Si Robertson
Yeah. I mean, I would have to go Bella, but not. Well, yeah, she was. She was nine. I mean, like, everywhere she went, even on Doug Dynasty, I had to carry her. So, like Bella, you look back on all the pictures. Apparently Bella wasn't big at walking from about the ages of 9 to 11. She liked to be toted. She like to be toted everywhere she went.
Jase Robertson
But now you actually said I had changed the most.
Si Robertson
Really?
Jase Robertson
Well, I'm not like the bot. I'm not up here. Well, that duck Commander, that would be my second. Keeping my grandkids and all that.
Si Robertson
Like, well, you weren't up here a lot. We still did a lot of business at your house then, so I guess that's why for me.
Willie Robertson
Well, but you're still.
Jase Robertson
Maybe on the show.
Si Robertson
Maybe on the show. Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Nobody's in here griping y' all out all the time, making you work Doing things.
Willie Robertson
That would be my second answer. Because to me, you're still the same guy. Yeah. You're just in a different season.
Jase Robertson
Rucker. Technically, we're all the same people.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
You dress a lot differently. There's no more.
Jase Robertson
I mean, I did think Sadie, because. But you're talking about from kids to adults, but. Yeah, from what we last saw. But I'm just saying my role is a lot different on this show.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah, your role, for sure. Your role has changed. Yeah, it's. Yeah, it's interesting.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, it was an interesting question that.
Si Robertson
I got Sass at himself. What?
Jase Robertson
You're the exact same.
Phil Robertson
Like.
Jase Robertson
Which is impressive because nothing changed. Like, not still.
Phil Robertson
Well, I just felt like I'm a little more lippy.
Jase Robertson
You are a little more. You are. You're a little more editing. Now we have.
Si Robertson
I will say. I will say on the old one, I never saw you drive off when they were asking you to stay. And this one, I watched you drive.
Phil Robertson
Oh, no.
Si Robertson
I saw you barking the tires out of the parking lot.
Jase Robertson
He said, I'm out.
Si Robertson
He said, no, we're done with this. I'm out on that. But we have a limit. Now that we wrapped it up, though, the season just ended. What? Really? What was Christian thinking on trying to do a gender reveal via a bow and arrow? I mean, what.
Phil Robertson
Oh, he scared me. Yeah, he did.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
They've got an explosive back there, and he's done shot the thing three times, and he's over there pulling out. Hey, get back. Stop doing that, you idiot.
Si Robertson
Scared him so bad. I never got out of his truck.
Willie Robertson
Safe distance. Just safe distance.
Jase Robertson
I thought it was a classic rookie. You go out there and you do it when nobody's watching. And then when you've got. Now, I thought it would be easy.
Phil Robertson
Because he crunched under pressure.
Jase Robertson
The target is not moving or breathing. So, like.
Si Robertson
But stadium atmosphere, man. Some people got it, somebody got eyes on. Some people got it, some people don't.
Jase Robertson
Well, and if I wouldn't have given him some notes on that crossbow by posting it on that table. Yeah, he's fixing to miss it again.
Si Robertson
Oh, ain't no doubt he's gonna try.
Jase Robertson
To freehand that thing.
Phil Robertson
Lay it down.
Jase Robertson
You better get that elbow on something.
Si Robertson
Well, sigh. And I, you know, met with him and encouraged him to do something that he was proficient at, because when the pressure's on, it needs to be muscle memory a lot of times. And, I mean, he's pretty new to the whole. The whole hunting game and especially bow hunting. So I was like, are you sure this. Yeah, I got. Okay. Okay.
Jase Robertson
Man, that is drawing that thing back the longer you hold it. And when you're as strong as he is, you're thinking you can just sit there and hold it, but the longer you wait.
Si Robertson
No, that's a different set of muscles.
Jase Robertson
Pull it back and just let it go.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Watch it go with the.
Si Robertson
Once it gets there. Let her rip, buddy.
Jase Robertson
It was a classic. Guy in his mid twenties just failing to execute. Just the confidence that Rucker, when he was found to execute, he was ended up in prison. But like, like, at least this is just. You're missing a target.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
This is just reveal.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
You know what I'm saying?
Willie Robertson
I was also missing a target, but it had greater consequences. You know what I'm.
Si Robertson
And now, now Rucker, Christian Rucker and Christian about to have newborns the same age.
Jase Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Si Robertson
That's what's great.
Jase Robertson
Have a newborn.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah, yeah. She do the calf now, right?
Jase Robertson
How old are you?
Willie Robertson
I'm 35. I'll be 36 next.
Jase Robertson
Obviously.
Si Robertson
You beat me, buddy. I was 38 when them boys come along.
Willie Robertson
Well, if. When you have a.
Jase Robertson
And I had grandkids by the time I was yalls age.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah. Yeah, you did. He did.
Willie Robertson
So I have a 15 year old and then you thinking. You think to yourself, okay, a couple more years, like, he's out of the house, he's out of school. Like, he's off. Run it back, you know, but then, you know, start it over again. Yeah, well, my wife's nine years younger than me, so it just kind of happened, you know.
Jase Robertson
Well, yeah, I know I didn't kind of happen. I know how it happened.
Si Robertson
Very well versed.
Willie Robertson
There's. Yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
That is going to make you younger, though. So.
Willie Robertson
Yeah, I feel like I'm having a grandkid more than I'm having your kid.
Jase Robertson
When your kid graduates from high school.
Si Robertson
Let's not do this math. It's going poorly for me.
Jase Robertson
Hopefully you'll be about my age.
Willie Robertson
Well, yeah. And.
Si Robertson
And y' all will be at the same graduation.
Willie Robertson
Here's the other thing. Yeah, no, literally. Literally. And here's the other thing. When this. When this new baby is Noah's age now, Noah will be 30, so he could very well have a family. Like, I got to have a kid in school and a grandkid in school at the same time.
Jase Robertson
We find. Yeah.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah, you're going to be.
Willie Robertson
I'm just hoping to live that long, if I'm being honest. I mean, really, you can Be.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Old dad and young grandpa at the same time.
Willie Robertson
I like it. Again, I have serious concerns about my medical status during this time. Let's face it. I haven't. I haven't necessarily been the wisest when it comes to how you take care of yourself.
Si Robertson
Hey, this man smoked for 50 years. Look at him.
Jase Robertson
Look at him, man. He's.
Si Robertson
He's still out here.
Willie Robertson
He's still go.
Jase Robertson
But he's rocking a scooter all the way down the hall.
Si Robertson
Yeah, he rocking a scooter and oxygen, but, I mean, he's still with us.
Jase Robertson
Oh, did y' all talk about me running your scooter into that? Hot thought I broke my wrist.
Si Robertson
No, no, we've left that one. It would take the vision.
Phil Robertson
We've never talked. I knew when you got on it.
Jase Robertson
That thing goes way faster.
Phil Robertson
I said. I told people. When? As soon as you got on what is fixed? Hardy 70.
Si Robertson
Boom. Yeah.
Phil Robertson
I said, there it is.
Willie Robertson
It moves.
Jase Robertson
Still blood on the wall, too. I cut my finger open and.
Phil Robertson
Well, they had it on. Rabbit.
Si Robertson
Yeah, they talked about. They talked about painting it. And I said, why would you paint. Leave it. It's hilarious.
Jase Robertson
Tire marks still on the hallway. There's tire marks into the side.
Si Robertson
Yeah, tire marks and blocks.
Phil Robertson
I like to hurt marks. Martin three times when they kept saying, hey, run it and go through the door again. Well, when I go through the door, I shut it down, and Martin's running behind me. I didn't know it. He's got to miss me and the scooter.
Si Robertson
Yeah. I had to jump over here. I had to grab his shoulder and jump over. The only thing that does better than go forward is stop.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
That sucker got a set of brakes on it that it stops immediately.
Phil Robertson
And he says, quit that. He said, you fix to kill me?
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
And I said, well, I didn't know you was right behind me. He said, duh.
Si Robertson
Well, you get to. You get to drive. And they tell me to run. I need you to keep going. I need a little shutdown time, big daddy. So, like, these brakes ain't what?
Phil Robertson
Well, I was afraid I was gonna run over.
Willie Robertson
Well, you get that much momentum rolling.
Phil Robertson
What I was thinking in my head was, somebody's gonna walk by about the time I slammed these doors open.
Si Robertson
Well, that's on them.
Phil Robertson
Or kill him.
Si Robertson
No, that's fine. That's on there, man. We got workman's comp for it. It's fine. We're good. Just don't kill me.
Jase Robertson
I was trying to turn the curve in the hallway here. In the office.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. I don't.
Jase Robertson
Most people would actually slow down to take a curve. And for some reason, I just gunned it.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. Yeah.
Si Robertson
You went.
Willie Robertson
It's more fun that way.
Jase Robertson
And when I gunned it, I just went straight into the wall.
Si Robertson
Yeah. Everybody up here was.
Jase Robertson
Fractured my wrist.
Si Robertson
The latest in a long string of Willie injuries.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Does anything hurt right now? Are you good?
Jase Robertson
Ankles coming back? I did it. Corey and I sprained our ankle the same week, which is really funny. That shows you how old we're getting. I was at a golf course, walking down a set of steps.
Si Robertson
Oh, no.
Jase Robertson
Just completely blew it.
Si Robertson
Oh.
Jase Robertson
I turned white as a ghost. I thought I was going to throw up. I hadn't twisted my ankle a long time. Corey was in Taiwan. She was at the mall, and it just said, no. She blew her ankle out, fell down like an old person, hurt her elbow. Ha. And that was within, like, two days of each other. Halfway around the globe, we both fall. She was at a mall, at a golf course. That's when you're getting old, my friend.
Willie Robertson
It's also when you're really connected with somebody.
Phil Robertson
Everything's going south, boy.
Jase Robertson
Connection going south.
Si Robertson
If it makes you feel any better.
Jase Robertson
Give me some wisdom. So help me. Help me through this period.
Phil Robertson
Hey, slow down. Take. Take it easy. Oh.
Si Robertson
How many times have we heard, if it ain't broke, don't fix it? You know, now in most cases in life, that's. Yeah, that's what you want to do. If it ain't broke, you don't want to start fixing it. But you know what? He's fixing your cell phone. Amen.
Willie Robertson
Because the battery life goes.
Si Robertson
Yep.
Martin
All of a sudden it's like, update. And then your phone's dead by lunchtime. And you're like, what in the world?
Si Robertson
There you go.
Martin
And who knows how many times your phone's falling in the toilet. You got to grab it real fast. Then it's like, is it working? But it kind of works, but you don't want to replace it.
Si Robertson
I'm at a healthy zero on that one, but never done that.
Martin
Well, you should start living a little. Fortunately, thanks to Pure Talk, your cell phone is something you can replace without feeling guilty when you switch to Pure Talk. This month, they're going to give you a Samsung Galaxy A36 for free with a $35 qualifying program.
Si Robertson
Unbelievable.
Martin
So for just 35 bucks a month for taught text and data and a free Samsung phone with scratch resistant gorilla glass and a battery that lasts all.
Si Robertson
Day, say it ain't so all on.
Martin
America's most dependable 5G network. I'm on Pure Talk, and I can tell you that the coverage is awesome. You can't beat it. Look, supporting companies like Pure Talk is a good thing. You win by cutting your cell phone bill in half. They win by hiring more Americans and helping more veterans. Sigh. You're not a big cell phone guy.
Phil Robertson
Nope.
Martin
But he likes Pure Talk because of all the work they do to help veterans. They've donated $50,000 to provide scholarships to support veterans learning trades after active duty. They're helping to eliminate veteran depth, and they're raising donations to end veteran suicide.
Jase Robertson
Sigh.
Martin
That's something you can support.
Phil Robertson
That's it. I do.
Martin
So signing up for Pure Talk is a win, win, win for winning. Everybody around, you're gonna save money. You're gonna get a free phone. Make the switch in as little as 10 minutes. Go to PureTalk.com to get your free phone today. Again, that's PureTalk.com to switch to my wireless company, America's wireless company, Pure Talk.
Phil Robertson
Do it today.
Si Robertson
But we got some cool things coming. We'll touch on this like. So the blind is coming back. Tickets are on sale now. So how does. How does that feel, Will? The project y' all work so hard on is now getting re released. That's. That's got to be a pretty cool thing, right?
Jase Robertson
Yeah. I'm so glad. You know, I travel around a lot, and every time I mention that movie, a lot of people laugh and have watched it, so.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
What did you think about your dad doing the movie?
Si Robertson
What?
Jase Robertson
Say it again.
Phil Robertson
Yeah, what did I think about your dad doing the movie? Okay. Because when they.
Jase Robertson
They talk mean doing the movie.
Si Robertson
I think he's saying agreeing to doing the movie.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
No side train. Figured it. Yeah. I mean, he's been fairly open about me.
Phil Robertson
Did you think it actually bothered him? Oh, totally.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Totally bothered him.
Si Robertson
Talking about it's one thing. Seeing it acted out is completely different.
Phil Robertson
Because I didn't, you know, they had asked me something, what if we'd come to you? I said. I said, hey, you crazy? Y' all get out of here. I ain't gonna do that.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Show everything that I've ever done bad. I said, no, But Phil said, hey, if it'll bring one person, Jesus, I'll do it.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
And. And that's why you do it.
Phil Robertson
Well, no, no.
Willie Robertson
And that's why you know.
Phil Robertson
But I know. Okay. My brother. And it really weighed heavily on him. Okay. Yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
He said, because he was Embarrassed. Yeah.
Phil Robertson
Yeah. That he regrets doing the stuff he's done, especially with Ms. K. Yeah.
Si Robertson
Well, that's what CN is, right?
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
I mean, that's what you let him make a movie about your life.
Phil Robertson
Right.
Willie Robertson
I mean, I'd be open to it for sure, you know, but they already.
Si Robertson
Got Rutgers out there, though. It's just a bunch of different ones you'd have to put together.
Phil Robertson
Big, giant puzzle.
Willie Robertson
But I had one of the. I had kind of like a moment where. So somebody heard the podcast, this podcast, and they were having a conference up in Amarillo, Texas, of all these juvenile facility directors. They were going to some conference, and one of the guys I'd mentioned a place I was incarcerated at on this podcast, and one of the guys there was asking the now director of that facility, hey, man, I've seen the Duck Call Room podcast. This guy, Brian Rucker, he mentioned being a child's facility. And so he calls, you know, the people back at the facility and says, hey, look in our database, or whatever. Like, when. When was this guy here? And they looked it up and seen. I was there, and I just talked to them yesterday. They were like, man, we just, you know, it's one of those things where it brings back memories of stuff that you, you know, you kind of forget about because you're having a conversation with these people that are in charge of a facility that you was at, and you're trying to have some banter with them about, like, different things that happened while you were there. And it's stuff that you just don't think about all the time. And so as I was there having that conversation and. And, you know, kind of going through that reel of memories, it was. It was pretty cool, but it was also very humbling. And, like, how long were you there at that place? Six months.
Si Robertson
They gonna put up, like, were you. Good for you or something?
Willie Robertson
Was I good?
Jase Robertson
Act good when you were.
Willie Robertson
Oh, they put me in oranges, which is basically. You had to wear an orange jumpsuit and flip flops.
Jase Robertson
Everybody wears orange.
Willie Robertson
No, not at the. This place.
Jase Robertson
Okay. Out of the kids, if you wear orange. That was a disciplinary thing for you?
Willie Robertson
Yeah, I started a gang called Texas Made Assassins and was having people beat up and.
Si Robertson
Clever name.
Willie Robertson
No, I mean, I should have went.
Si Robertson
With, like, oranges then. You were like that. Really?
Jase Robertson
That guy heard it and I acted a fool when I was there?
Willie Robertson
Well, yeah, for sure. You know, I did all kinds of stuff while I was there. I had the.
Jase Robertson
Did you get sent out because of the stuff you were doing? There?
Willie Robertson
No, I almost. I almost did, but they. They. They ended up letting me stay there. So this was a place where I had already went to TYC and stuff. And they send you here, and in order to get released, you have to get. Pass your learner's permit test, get a GED and get a builder's trade. And so the program is set up where you go to, like, whatever builders trade you're working on. They put you in GED classes and stuff, and they call it a state school. And. And I almost get kicked out of there for, you know, those things, and they end up letting me stay. And that's how I got my ged. That's how I learned how to paint and stuff like that.
Si Robertson
Are you a painter?
Willie Robertson
I know how to paint.
Si Robertson
Okay. I was wondering. I bet that ceiling's tough on you. You're a long way from them.
Jase Robertson
That's what he put on his resume when he got a job here. Documentary.
Willie Robertson
I actually. It might not be far from the truth. I don't know.
Jase Robertson
I was.
Willie Robertson
I really. I try to church it up.
Jase Robertson
Speaking of, like, what do you.
Phil Robertson
Hey, what.
Willie Robertson
What's your work experience?
Jase Robertson
Speaking of Taco Bell. AI. You couldn't even get a job there. Maybe that's why. Because they knew they were heading towards AI.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
That's why they didn't hire you.
Willie Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
No, they were like, we're gonna cycle these jobs out anyway over the next 10.
Willie Robertson
Well, I went in for the interview at Taco Bell, and I'm talking to the lady, and she's like, yeah, sounds good. Just, we're gonna do a little background check. And then they did it. And then they said, I called him back a little, you know, like a few days later. I said, hey, did I get the job? She's like, well, we got your background back. I got to talk to the regional supervisor and stuff. I was like, okay, that's out.
Si Robertson
Yeah, that's why.
Jase Robertson
I wonder why that would disqualify you from working at Taco Bell.
Willie Robertson
You know, I really don't know. This is what it. Because many felons work at Taco Bell, right?
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Willie Robertson
You. This is. This is my theory. God was putting up roadblocks to get me here.
Jase Robertson
Well, yeah, I understand that. I mean, I understand that. I was just wondering in general, why would, like, your past hold you back from working at Taco Bell? I would think you. You could have done that job even though you'd.
Willie Robertson
Yeah. I don't know. I'd never. You know, I'd never went to jail. For, like, stealing anything. And that's usually the thing that people look at. I'd only had one drug charge at that time. But it all depends on, like, what system you do background checks with. Because if it pulls up an arrest. That's what I'm saying.
Jase Robertson
If you're not working Taco Bell, where. Where would you be able to work? You know? I'm saying, like, what are the.
Si Robertson
You'd had to get that paintbrush back.
Jase Robertson
What positions.
Phil Robertson
I'm glad we had.
Jase Robertson
I know, but then you're painting in someone's house, you know.
Willie Robertson
Right.
Jase Robertson
Which seems like. Well, yeah, less likely. You know, I would probably not want somebody in my house.
Willie Robertson
That would be.
Jase Robertson
But a Taco Bell, huh?
Willie Robertson
I mean, for sure.
Jase Robertson
Make the food. You know what I'm saying?
Si Robertson
Don't put lettuce on my stuff.
Jase Robertson
I'm not saying it's a bad job at all.
Willie Robertson
No, no, no.
Jase Robertson
I would think that would be a great.
Willie Robertson
That would be an option to get.
Jase Robertson
Back, you know, you just said something.
Phil Robertson
That I'm gonna, you know, used in my preaching.
Si Robertson
Okay.
Jase Robertson
All right, let's go.
Phil Robertson
I'm serious.
Si Robertson
Extra steak.
Phil Robertson
God uses. Yo. He turns on the red light. Stop. You don't need to go this direction. Okay, here you go. Caution lights on. Hey, better be. Be careful about going that direction. And it's a day. Okay. You're on the right track. Rain light.
Jase Robertson
You can work that in your next sermon. I didn't know you were still preaching a lot.
Phil Robertson
Oh, yeah, I'll do all the time, so.
Jase Robertson
Copy that. I didn't know. I'm just saying I didn't get your schedule. I don't know.
Phil Robertson
You remember that fence you paid for? People are still pulling up my yard. And when I get to talk to him, I preach to him.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Oh, you're working.
Si Robertson
He's a whole ministry.
Jase Robertson
He's a street yard ministry.
Si Robertson
No, but we also got Duck Commander Sunday coming up at the end of the month, celebrating the life and legacy of Phil. This is an event we used to do way back when. Then Duck Dynasty happened. Everybody got busy. Now we got a little more time and we're. We're recommitting to it. So August 31, here at the warehouse, come by. We're going to have a little worship service. Yeah. Morning Sunday.
Jase Robertson
And there's some other cool stuff.
Phil Robertson
It'll be food on the.
Si Robertson
Be food here. Be all kinds of things. Custom duck calls, custom shirts. There's going to be some. Some stuff to celebrate the weekend we're going to do.
Jase Robertson
I may Be here.
Si Robertson
We're going to do a duck call room live, so everybody's committed to it.
Jase Robertson
So I think I'll be here.
Si Robertson
Yeah, you're supposed to. It's on your calendar anyways. But there's been a. We got a girl.
Jase Robertson
Be here.
Si Robertson
We've got a. We've got a pot.
Willie Robertson
You had me at food. I'm showing up for the food.
Si Robertson
We've got a pot on what time you'll actually show up. So if you want to get cut in, I can give you my time slot and we'll split it. But you know the.
Jase Robertson
Check my schedule.
Phil Robertson
Schedule, boys.
Si Robertson
Oh, man. But no.
Phil Robertson
Busy, busy.
Si Robertson
It's been fun. Thanks for hanging out with us, boss. Rucker, y' all got anybody. We always close with a verse. Y' all got one that's.
Jase Robertson
I'm glad to fill in for Johnny D and assist my old assistant.
Si Robertson
My ears appreciate it.
Phil Robertson
The fans need a break from Johnny D anyway.
Si Robertson
They got a week off. But he'll be back. He'll be back in no time.
Phil Robertson
Oh, he'll be fired up when he comes back.
Si Robertson
I'm sure Carter's gonna be back shooting them quick looks.
Jase Robertson
Oh, he's gonna have plenty of stories.
Willie Robertson
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Si Robertson
But either one of y' all got a verse that's on your mind, on your heart, anything. Oh, there you go. Look how quick that is.
Willie Robertson
It's actually two verses.
Si Robertson
We'll go ahead. We always like to let our guests have a chance at this.
Jase Robertson
I have one of them.
Phil Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Yes.
Willie Robertson
Matter of fact, they're all for everyone.
Phil Robertson
Actually, they're for everybody.
Willie Robertson
Everybody can.
Jase Robertson
Why don't you just read them to us?
Si Robertson
Pulling them up. I don't want to.
Phil Robertson
I don't want to.
Willie Robertson
Want to paraphrase.
Si Robertson
All right, we can. We can edit it. You don't want to have the Rucker translation?
Willie Robertson
No, no, no. Hbsv homeboy. Street version. We're gonna refer. So we're gonna go. For I am. Romans 8, 38, and 39. These are my favorite two verses. For I'm convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth or anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Si Robertson
There you go.
Phil Robertson
That's a good one.
Si Robertson
The kind of what the whole thing, the blind, was built off of, our whole brand has been built off of. And what we'll continue to share everywhere.
Phil Robertson
What life is built off of.
Si Robertson
Amen, buddy. We'll see y' all next time. Right here in the duck call room. We're out, Sam.
