Jase Robertson
All right, look, today we have a very special edition of the Duck Call Room for you, Johnny D. I know you weren't here. You were busy. Such a great addition.
Si Robertson
I'm going to take a nap.
Jase Robertson
You weren't here. You were busy working at the Honey Hole. And we had some special guests stop by. So first up for you guys today, we have the guys from over at J Stew, Jay Stu. But what they are not ashamed of is their faith in our Lord Savior. And so it was really cool to sit down with them as they have a brand new devotional book out this holiday season for your kids. So if your kids are J. Stu fans, they have a devotional book for them. It is really cool book. I've read it. It was super fun to sit down, talk to those guys, how they started, very humble beginnings, and where they are now and what they would like to do in the future. So stick around for that. And once those guys check out, we also have our friend Colton McKibbets, the starting right guard.
Justin Stuart
You just had all sorts of friends.
Jase Robertson
I do. It was just a weird week, man. And. But he plays for the 49ers. He's starting right tackle for the San Francisco 49ers. Who? Yeah, Little. I mean, he was little big human from West Virginia, slash Ohio. But he, you know, through his personal journey, found unashamed, and then found the Duck Call Room and came down for Jace to actually baptize him. So cool. While he was here, we were like, buddy, we need to sit and talk about that, if you don't mind. And so Colton and his father sat in with us to talk about their journey from. From nowhere, OHI slash West Virginia, all the way to the NFL. So hope you guys enjoy this very special edition of the Duck Call Room, and we'll check in with you at the end. Welcome back to the Duck Call Room, ladies and gentlemen. We have two special guests in this room. You know, if you see me on this side of the room, that something different has happened. But we have Justin and Andrew from the J Stew YouTube channel in the Duck Call room with us. And I just think there couldn't be a better fit for this podcast than you guys, because we've got a man who believes in joy and laughter more than anybody I know. And y'all. Y'all slogan is Laugh Daily, right? I mean, that's part of what y'all believe in. You've got. You're wearing shirts that say joyful heart. So if this ain't a match made in heaven right here, right Here, then I'm obviously missing something. But no. Welcome, guys.
Si Robertson
Yeah, double that for me. Okay. Because I've always said, okay, look, we're going to have some fun and say, no, that's out. I said, well, guess what?
Justin Stuart
I won't be there like that.
Si Robertson
I ain't coming. But now if I can't smile. Have a good time, Bill. Scream if I feel like screaming.
Justin Stuart
We need you as our spokesman. That's a lot.
Si Robertson
Well, no, I'm serious. Life is too short. Okay. Not to. And. And not only that, if you believe in the Creator and you've got a relationship with him, if you ain't happy, you need to have brain surgery. Something's wrong. Okay. Yeah. Yo, hey, cut some of it out or do something. And I'm looking forward to this because it says 100 days to conquer your fears, shatter your limits, and build your faith.
Jase Robertson
That's right. That's. That's you guys new book.
Justin Stuart
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
So you got a new devotional coming out, which is awesome, and I've read part of it. We just. I just got it this morning while I was watching y'all on Sadie's podcast. So, yes, I went and watched the professionals, as you all tell us in the comments this morning, that. To watch how they did it. But I. I think I'm gonna let y'all talk about your book. But the ones that I have read are so good and so simple. So congratulations on simplifying it to a level that is palatable for any age, any person, any. Anything that you can read this and get something out of it.
Si Robertson
So here's the question. First question, how long did it take this creation to come to pass?
Justin Stuart
Well, first of all, thank you for having us here on the podcast. You guys are legends. I mean, to be here. I've been so thrilled ever since we first figured that we were going to be on the podcast. So I'm just so happy to be here and talk with you guys.
Andrew Stuart
Yeah, absolutely. My family growing up, our Christmas tradition was to get Duck Dynasty DVDs. Whatever the current season was, we'd watch it all Christmas morning.
Jase Robertson
So this is.
Andrew Stuart
This is awesome being here.
Jase Robertson
Y'all need some new ones? Sure. We can help you out.
Si Robertson
There you go.
Jase Robertson
If you can't tell from behind you, we've been known to have some inventory problems in the past. So, yeah, we're not. We're just shamelessly selling teacups, and I got some ideas for those once we get done with the podcast for you guys.
Si Robertson
So we needed y'all yesterday when me And Al and Will was on Sadie's podcast. This would have fit in exactly perfect with what we was talking about.
Justin Stuart
Yeah, well, I mean, we've been working on that book. Feels like a year now, because, like, on our YouTube channel, we're all about entertainment and providing, as you have mentioned, our models Laugh Daily. Providing humor through the means of entertainment. And so we don't often get to talk about our faith because we are strong believers in Jesus Christ and he's changed our lives in every way. And so that comes through entertainment for us. God has given us the ability to kind of entertain through YouTube.
Andrew Stuart
So, yeah, I mean, it took us probably, what, three or four months to write the book.
Jase Robertson
Who's there?
Andrew Stuart
But, yeah, we just kind of went back through some of the videos that we've done and kind of explored the lessons that God was teaching us through the creation of the video or, like, what it. The process or whatever. So there's a bunch of stories in there from just, like, us personally or from the videos we've done.
Jase Robertson
And.
Si Robertson
Well, this sounds like a very easy read.
Jase Robertson
It is.
Si Robertson
Matter of fact, it sounds like a lot like my book, one of my books.
Justin Stuart
Which one is that?
Si Robertson
Oh, 101 or serenity. Is it 101 or slash 1?
Jase Robertson
Oh, psychology. Yes. It's called psychology 101. Where it's just like.
Andrew Stuart
Yeah, yeah.
Jase Robertson
Interesting stories with the.
Si Robertson
Because what I did is I literally wrote this book by ghostwriter did. Okay. Cause that was the funny part. They found a ghost rider, and then he came down and he spent, like, five days with me and Al Robertson, Bill's oldest son. And Al was the. He was the person that poked the bear to remind me of stories that I told them growing up. You know, I'd say, well, yo. And he'd say, hey, tell them I want about this, yo. I'd tell it. So that book was my life and stories, and it was a fun and funny read. Okay. And it was fun.
Andrew Stuart
Yeah. No, I think I had that book at my house.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
It was fun to read and it was easy to read.
Justin Stuart
Yeah. I mean, at the end of the day, like, you said, like, don't be deceived by just the colorful, playful cover. Although a lot of, like, what you said.
Si Robertson
Oh, no, there's a lot of life stories in here.
Justin Stuart
Yes.
Si Robertson
Okay. That are helpful to live. Okay. Because we're not of this world.
Justin Stuart
That's right.
Si Robertson
Okay. But we gotta live in this sucker.
Justin Stuart
Yeah. And so, like, that's a job. The stories that we tell are simple for kids to understand, but like, think of the message of the gospel. Like, we have a deep, as Christians, a deep obviously understanding of like, certain things that maybe new believers don't understand. But we wanted to be able to express biblical truths through stories, kind of like how Jesus did. And it's for kids, but it's also for adults. That's why I'm saying don't be deceived by the colorful cover that's got some great truths.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Si Robertson
I never thought about. Okay. Jesus is a storyteller and a very good one.
Justin Stuart
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
That's how he taught.
Si Robertson
Yeah. No, no, all stories. Yeah. All the parables.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Because I understand why he done it. Because, hey, we're so stupid. Okay. We can't understand simple stuff. So that's why he went. Super simple. Yeah.
Andrew Stuart
Let me explain this for you.
Justin Stuart
Even the unbeliever still didn't understand. Like, please explain this to me. I don't get it.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no, because I. The 12 that was with him, they didn't understand lie. And then poor Peter, you know, Peter's. He. Me and him had a lot in common because I always stick my foot in my mouth a lot too.
Jase Robertson
Oh, yeah, there you go. Yeah, I can see that you guys are gonna be.
Si Robertson
Yeah, because I would have been asking Jesus dumb questions. Okay. You know, I don't get it. So you had to, you know, lay. You got to literally click.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Turn the light. Oh, yeah, yeah. Turn the light on floors.
Jase Robertson
But no, I think it's really cool from our perspective, right? You guys have what, eight, a little over 8 million or something like that, subscribers on YouTube, which is no small feat, period. I don't care when you started it, that's incredible. But that you use that platform to do something like this, especially with me, you know, we were talking before. I've got twin two year old boys. And so, like, as a father in today's world, you're always looking for positive things to turn them onto, like. And so, you know, with you guys having the laugh daily, the overall just jovial experience of it all, and then having boys that are obsessed with YouTube, even at 2 years old, like, you know, they watch Disney Junior or whatever, you can turn whatever on TV. But if I grab that remote and say YouTube, they both go, you know, but I've had them watching duck hunting. And like, I'm like, you know, just kind of fun. I'm like, I just want them to get used to what we do. But to have that kind of influence and positivity out there, man, I applaud you. Guys, so Yalls videos and Yalls Yalls deal is to put yourselves in kind of uncomfortable situations. Right? I mean that's kind of what I gathered from it. Like stay overnight challenges and some in some weird. Some weird locales and weird places and. Yeah, it's right here.
Justin Stuart
My last name's Stuart And Sites.
Si Robertson
You must be kinfolk somewhere.
Jase Robertson
Why is that?
Si Robertson
Right? Because they like to laugh and have.
Jase Robertson
Well, we're all blood kids.
Andrew Stuart
There we go.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
No, no, because that's the thing I hope happens now. Now that the election's over, you know, because I go out and do a lot of events. Okay. And sadly to say there's nobody smiling, there's nobody laughing, there's nobody having a good time.
Justin Stuart
That's a problem.
Si Robertson
And that's a problem. You know?
Andrew Stuart
Yeah.
Si Robertson
You know, the world is miserable.
Jase Robertson
Little uptight.
Si Robertson
Yeah, yeah. Loosen up and have some fun for Christ.
Colton McKivitz
Absolutely.
Andrew Stuart
Yeah. Like on our videos. Like we're grown men, but we're still kids at heart. We're so that's what we're. We're building. Like if you were a kid.
Si Robertson
I know. I can't say that I understand. Hey, I never grew up and I never will. He's got a. I'm still a kid.
Jase Robertson
He's well known for saying he's 14 years old.
Si Robertson
Yeah, I'm 14 year old. Tapped in a 76 year old bro. You talking about suck. Okay, that stinks. But I handled it pretty well though.
Andrew Stuart
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Yeah, that's right. I'm still going for it, boys.
Jase Robertson
Oh, Martin, man. Man, you know what I love? What time. Really?
Justin Stuart
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
I like having my time. I don't want to be sitting out there trying to figure out how do all the to do lists power through busy days. And let's not kid ourselves. You going in the holiday season, you're cooking for every other thing. Sometimes you just want a night off from cooking, but you still want to eat good. And buddy, do we have something for you.
Justin Stuart
That's where factors no prep, no mess meals come straight into play.
Andrew Stuart
Martin.
Jase Robertson
I mean it is unbelievable. They are so good that you can't eat out for the same price. And it's two minutes or less in your and you're eating. You're eating a great meal in two minutes or less. I've done every type of diet you.
Andrew Stuart

Justin Stuart
I could always eat something from factor.

I'm just curious, like, on a lot of that stuff, how do y'all come up with those ideas? Do they. Do people float them by you, or do y'all just spend a lot of time researching, like, weird places and like.
Andrew Stuart
Yeah, I think that part of it is like, just researching, trying to find weird locations that either people haven't been to or don't do very often. But then sometimes it's like, yeah, we built a roller coaster in our backyard. It's just like, what would be like, a dream that you could do even, like, as a kid? It's like, what would be the coolest thing ever? It's like, now we're adults and we can just do it.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Justin Stuart
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Roller coaster. That's way better than, like, two pieces of wood and a bicycle ramp that you almost kill yourself on.
Justin Stuart
The only limit is our imagination. With our motto being laugh daily. That comes from Proverbs 17:22. A joyful heart is like medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bone.
Si Robertson
That's the thing about. Hey. Our roller coaster was a bag swing. Okay. You get it. You get a hundred pound potato sack. Yeah. Potato sack. Okay. And you fill it full of old clothes. Okay. Where it makes a, like, a bowl that you sit on. Then you put a big rope tied to the sack. Okay. And then Put it on a big tree limb and we had it where we would climb a ladder with. With a rope to pull the rope to us. And now you think about this, teenagers, okay? Just the whole neighborhood. We used to see how many we could get on that bag.
Jase Robertson
So you guys, you know YouTube, is that. I mean, when y'all were growing, I say growing, I don't know. When you're thinking about your 10 year plan, let's go with it that way. Was YouTube ever there? Like, I mean, is that something like, you know, you're like, man, did y'all aspire to be on YouTube or was that just kind of what. What the good Lord put in front of?
Andrew Stuart
Just, like, making each other laugh? So it's like we were going to film school because we wanted to be in the entertainment industry doing YouTube, like, on the side. And once that started growing, it's like, yeah, we didn't have any thought of, like, oh, this could be a business.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, that's cool, man.
Justin Stuart
Yeah. God in his providence, Just a line in the past.
Si Robertson
He can take a black cloud and turn and turn a silver. Make a silver lining come out of it.
Justin Stuart
We get to just be creative. Like the ultimate creator giving us, like.
Jase Robertson
Hey, so y'all have fun. Y'all produce it all yourselves. Like, I'm saying, like, with the ideas and everything. Do y'all have a team? Does that? Or I mean, both and probably, yeah.
Justin Stuart
I mean, Andrew and I both, and we mainly come up with the ideas, but we do have a team. We have 15 people on our team who are editors, builders, creatives, production. But so we wouldn't be where we are today if we didn't have the help that we do have.
Andrew Stuart
Like, the roller coaster. We could be like, oh, we want to build a roller coaster, but we can't build. Yeah, we need someone else who can build to make it cool.
Jase Robertson
I got you. No, that is cool. And that's even cooler to think about. Like, y'all following this path has directly affected 15 people's lives. Right? Like, I mean, that's a cool thing. And y'all get to be a positive experience and a witness to those guys, which is one of the coolest parts that you never got to see for us. I know, and I think Cy would say it, too. With Duck Dynasty, was the crew, like, the impact that we had on the crew's life. That was here because the. And yeah, okay, y'all were in film school, so y'all can imagine the crew that showed up down here to film that. When I talk about every different walk of life. We had them here. You name it.
Si Robertson
There's some fantastic stories. Like one. One sound man, okay? Didn't get converted, you know, he. For what he didn't hear. That's what converted him.
Jase Robertson
Oh, really? Yeah. Listen to us miked up all day. He's like, y'all don't know.
Si Robertson
Because he told Phil. He said, hey, I'm a sound man. I hear everything, Right? Yeah. And he said, I need to talk to you. Can we all come visit tonight after over fist this year? Come on. So he come down and he said, hey, look, the people I work with are filthy mouth, foul language all the time. He said, yet I never hear any kind of. Any kind of. Even when you stump your toe, you just say, oh, God. You don't scream out bad words, even if you do something that's painful. And Phil said, well, hey, no, we're not into that. That's not part of our life, okay? We're trying to do what's right, y'all. And it converted it.
Jase Robertson
What is the craziest thing your team has built for you guys? And, like, how'd y'all do. That's.
Justin Stuart
Ooh, I'll say one, and you say a different one. Because our build team is insane. They've built the craziest things. But this year, we made our first movie, and we had our build team, in our warehouse, build an entire spaceship, really, from scratch. So it had, like, eight different rooms, a command center, hallways. It literally looks like a Star wars scene. So in my opinion, that was our craziest build. I'll show you after. Or you could put it up on screen.
Jase Robertson
Hunter, can you find that? While Andrew tells his craziest. Yeah.
Andrew Stuart
Another build they did. We created the world's biggest donut that was livable inside. It was basically like a house.
Jase Robertson
Was it edible, too?
Andrew Stuart
Unfortunately not, but. But it was cool.
Jase Robertson
It was a Color me interested. I know.
Andrew Stuart
It's huge. This is a big circular house. It was shaped like a donut, and it took him, like, four months to build.
Jase Robertson
Oh, is this y'all?
Justin Stuart
This is the. Yeah, this is the scenes from our movie, but this entire set, this is just one of the rooms. One of the many rooms that our build team did. We wanted to make it look like a spaceship, so.
Jase Robertson
Oh, that's awesome.
Andrew Stuart
This is the bridge of the ship.
Justin Stuart
Everything. The chairs, handmade. Like, all of them. Every little detail. Yep.
Jase Robertson
Oh, that's awesome. So kudos to your team. I know they may not always get a lot of love, but kudos to your team.
Si Robertson
The alien boy.
Justin Stuart
Yeah, the bad guy.
Jase Robertson
That's the.
Si Robertson
The alien at the door.
Jase Robertson
All right, so let's tear down the fourth wall. Who is the bad guy? 10 to 12 minutes. Oh, okay. Okay. You're the hero and the villain. All right. I love it. I love it. Heck, yeah. It takes talent to do both those. Can I say? Yeah. Willie. That's how Willie was kind of cast on Doug Dynasty. So the hero and the villain. You know, at the end of the day, he still signs our checks. So like, hero, but he also makes his work villain. So, you know, kind of a daily deal on you guys. So y'all have done. How many videos are y'all up to now, roughly? Is there a.
Justin Stuart
Thousands?
Jase Robertson
Thousands?
Justin Stuart
We've done thousands.
Jase Robertson
What's your. What's your craziest. Because I know y'all like to do, like, crazy, crazy things that kind of get people drawn in, but again, to make them laugh and have fun. So what would. What would you dissect as your craziest deal? Filling the warehouse full of toilet papers. That. Sleeping on the cliff. Is that.
Justin Stuart
I'd say we spent the night in a dangerous hotel in the middle of the ocean, which was just an abandoned oil rig, like, six miles off the coast.
Jase Robertson
Oh, okay.
Si Robertson
A hotel.
Justin Stuart
Yeah, Hotel.
Si Robertson
Yeah, a hotel. It's an abandoned all whale.
Jase Robertson
Okay.
Justin Stuart
Yeah, it was. You had to take a helicopter get there. Only one guy owned it because he bought it, and he's the one maintaining it. So the rust of all the legs is, like, from seawater. He's having to fix them and replace them, and it was insane.
Si Robertson
Oh, there's lots of stuff out there in the ocean.
Jase Robertson
Where was that at?
Andrew Stuart
It was off the coast of North Carolina, I think.
Jase Robertson
All right, so out off Hatteras or something like that?
Andrew Stuart
Yeah, somewhere out that way. And we also did a video in Iceland. We flew to the world's most dangerous lighthouse out there. You had to take another helicopter out in the middle of the ocean in Iceland, and it's just this little tiny landing pad that only one pilot can fly there.
Jase Robertson
Okay. Now, being from Colorado, y'all know what lives around, like, stuff that you put in the ocean like that? Like, in things.
Andrew Stuart
We're not around the ocean that much.
Jase Robertson
That's what I'm saying. Like, when we go. When we go fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, we go to oil rigs to catch tuna and everything. But the problem is. What problem is you catch them. Then here comes a tax man, right?
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Like, that's what we call the shark yeah, like all the. All the big sharks. So y'all were basically like, yeah, right. Angling food. Like, we literally.
Justin Stuart
They dangle us down on this little swing.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, no, it was, it was sketch. Yeah, no, ignorance is bliss. There you go. I can. I can appreciate that.
Si Robertson
We went on a 90 foot, you know, boat that you spend the night out in ocean on. Okay. My first experience to deep sea fishing was, is everybody else was taking pictures of. Oh, boy, that's a 25 pound red snapper. Or that's. This here's, you know, a Maui. Maui, whatever. Like, I always. All I reeled in was a head.
Justin Stuart
Oh, God.
Si Robertson
Everybody else got pictures of big pretty fish. I'm sitting there with mine with a head.
Justin Stuart
Just.
Jase Robertson
That wasn't fast enough.
Si Robertson
They kept, hey, real faster. I said, look, I don't know how, you know, fast the shark swim, but hey, I can't out. Really? I got a fish fighting you idiot.
Justin Stuart
That's even funnier.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. What's the head? No, I love it.
Si Robertson
Well, y'all are not only fun to be around. Y'all got a little thrill seeker in you.
Justin Stuart
Yeah, yeah, we try.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Andrew Stuart
I feel like it's going down in life, though. But how do you keep that thrill seeking?
Justin Stuart
We have kids. We want to be alive.
Andrew Stuart
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
When they get old enough to go with you, maybe that's how you think your wives are going to feel about that.
Justin Stuart
No.
Andrew Stuart
Oh, I don't know.
Jase Robertson
They don't want that because Britney's already like, dreading the day I take the boys duck hunting. Not that. You know, she loves duck hunting and has nothing to do with that. She's just like, they're gonna fall, they're gonna be wet, they're gonna be miserable. I'm like, yeah, and they're gonna love it.
Si Robertson
And all that's part of it.
Justin Stuart
They'll become men.
Si Robertson
Yeah, that's part of it.
Jase Robertson
Because she knows I don't baby her when I take her. Like, I mean. Oh, you're wet. Yeah. Deal, baby.
Si Robertson
Hey, we got, you know, the ducks ain't even starting to fly yet. You know, we got two hours before the ducks start flying.
Jase Robertson
I always tell the same thing, you.
Si Robertson
Know, freezing my tail. Well, hey, you just got to suck it up.
Jase Robertson
You know the way back and you know where the four wheeler is. Yeah, yeah, go on. I'm staying.
Si Robertson
You know where to live, right? We're duck hunting.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, so. But that is interesting. I was wondering if kids change that perspective for y'all. Like some of the crazy stuff, you'd be like, yeah, yeah. You know, because it has for me a little bit. Like I don't, I don't do some of the goofy stuff I used to do. Like I will never. You'll never catch me climbing a tree without a safety harness anymore. You'll never. Like there's just some things like. Yeah, when I was younger I was like, oh, I'm, I'm tough, I ain't gonna fall. If I do fall, I'll catch myself. Ain't that big of a deal. You. But now I'm like, nah, I hook in from the ground and I'm like, do all the safety stuff. So I was wondering with you guys and that has it, has it calmed down a little bit or we do have more stuff that involve your kids and stuff like that, so.
Andrew Stuart
Well, my, my son is almost 7. He's like getting into that age now where he's like, oh, I really want to help you with videos. Like, can you take me on this adventure? And I'm like, I don't know. No, maybe not quite yet.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Hey, but free labor, man.
Andrew Stuart
Yeah, no, he's willing to help.
Jase Robertson
Say so. You know what we need a builder.
Justin Stuart
Yeah.
Andrew Stuart
We need someone to pick up some trash.
Jase Robertson
I need you to be good at math and good with a drill. How about that? Like, hey, you really want to help this? That's how you can help this. Yeah, that's cool, man. Seven year old man. What a life. Potty trained and everything. I can't wait. Oh, man. Lord have mercy.
Si Robertson
It's gonna get there.
Jase Robertson
Oh, I know. Yeah.
Justin Stuart
Children keep you in line. They change your perspective on things. And we've had to change over the years. Like we used to do pranks, now we just do like fun adventures. But you know, they kind of just change your heart and being like, man, I, I wanna, I gotta be different. I need to mature more. And so they've helped in many, many, many ways.
Jase Robertson
Oh, that's awesome. Simple, tough and built to last. That's how we like our hunting accessories. And that's why we love our friends over at Soft Hold. That is what they make. It's simple, it's tough, it's built to last. It looks good also. I mean, look at that.
Si Robertson
Simple, tough, effective.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. And one of the coolest thing is soft hole gun mounts are handmade in America. Solid, reliable American craftsmanship that you can count on. These gun mounts are wrapped in premium leather so it looks good and it's going to keep your gun safe from dings and scratches. And with a 50 pound magnetic pull, it's strong enough to yank a frying pan off the stove. If it can handle cast iron, it's more than enough to hold your gun. Long guns, shotguns, pistols, it doesn't matter. These mounts will hold any gun that you own. You can mount them anywhere. Your truck, your side by side. You're safe under this line. A hunting blind? Si Robertson
We're all.
Justin Stuart
And we need it. We need to settle something with Uncle Cy, too.
Jase Robertson
Oh, you gotta settle with him.
Justin Stuart
No, nothing bad.
Jase Robertson
Oh, okay. Okay.
Si Robertson
I was thinking. What have I done?
Jase Robertson
Yeah, okay.
Justin Stuart
Uncle Si, have you heard of Chat GPT?
Si Robertson
What? Hi.
Justin Stuart
Chat GPT.
Jase Robertson
Oh, praise God. All right, well, I don't know where this is going.
Si Robertson
Oh, that thing you got in Your hand. It's AI, you know, artificial intelligence. No, that don't work for me.
Justin Stuart
Well, I was hoping to get some answers when we were coming in for the podcast, because I'm like, andrew, it'd be super cool if we brought Uncle Si, like, his favorite food. But I'm like, I don't know what it is. So I'm like, okay, Chat GPT. I'm going to ask it. What is Uncle Si's favorite food?
Si Robertson
And again, that would probably be a filet mignon steak, cooked. Okay. Medium plus.
Jase Robertson
Oh, boy.
Si Robertson
And look, I drive the chefs insane with that. They said, that's not a, you know, steak, you know. And I said, hey, I wouldn't eat nothing. You cook. You don't know what medium plus is? You're an idiot.
Justin Stuart
Medium plus?
Si Robertson
No, no. Hey. This was from New York in one of the finest restaurants. The chef there said, hey, there's no such thing as being plucked. I said, you just don't know.
Justin Stuart
I said, you're an idiot.
Si Robertson
Yeah. I said, you're a dude. Get out of here. I eat nothing. You cook.
Jase Robertson
Oh, fired.
Si Robertson
Go back.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, okay.
Justin Stuart
What do you want to hear? What? ChatGPT said?
Si Robertson
What?
Justin Stuart
Uncle Cy Robertson from Duck Dynasty is known for his quirky and humorous personality, often making jokes about his love for sweet tea and various Southern foods. While he hasn't officially declared a favorite fast food chain, he's mentioned enjoying classic Southern comfort foods. So it's likely that he might appreciate places like Chick Fil a or KFC for their chicken dishes. However, for a definitive answer, there isn't an official statement from him about a.
Jase Robertson
Specific favorite fast food restaurant.
Si Robertson
I need to update one thing. It's not sweet tea.
Jase Robertson
It's unsweet.
Si Robertson
Unsweet. Okay, kick the sugar out. No. Idiot.
Jase Robertson
RFK Sugar. Let's go.
Si Robertson
I need to be on a sugar high, too.
Justin Stuart
Since you have just figured out what Chat GPT is, if you could ask it anything, any question, what would it be? We could ask it right now and it'll answer it with a voice.
Si Robertson
Find me the best looking woman there is.
Justin Stuart
I am with Uncle Sai from Duck Dynasty, and he is wondering if you could find him the best looking woman that has ever existed.
Jase Robertson
This ought to be good.
Si Robertson
That's right.
Andrew Stuart
Tell Uncle Sai he's got quite the challenge there. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder, and history has given us plenty of legendary beauties. From Cleopatra and Helen of Troy in ancient times to icons like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn in more recent years, people have celebrated all kinds of beauty.
Si Robertson
Hey, he's like, it really depends on his media.
Andrew Stuart
Does he lean toward classic Hollywood?
Si Robertson
You don't know the answer.
Jase Robertson
They're asking you questions to get more. You don't know the answer.
Si Robertson
You don't know the answer, dummy. Just say it. I don't know.
Jase Robertson
I'm mildly concerned that chat GPT thinks Marilyn Monroe is recent times.
Andrew Stuart
That's a good point.
Jase Robertson
I mean, I guess if you go back to Cleopatra. Yeah, like, if that's your time scale. But, like, I mean, it seems like there's been a lot of options since then.
Justin Stuart
I got a question for it for.
Si Robertson
He should have said, hey, look, just go out there and take your pick. There's a bunch of them.
Justin Stuart
I'm with Uncle Sai from Duck Dynasty. What is the welcome?
Jase Robertson
Oh, no, no, no, no. Oh, wow. You're welcome. You're welcome.
Justin Stuart
I am sitting with Uncle Sai from Duck Dynasty. What is the best advice you can give him? Are you there?
Si Robertson
No, he's an idiot. He ain't there.
Jase Robertson
Okay. Yeah.
Andrew Stuart
It's the next episode.
Jase Robertson
SI versus AI.
Si Robertson
That's right. Si. Hey, I like it. Yeah, yeah. SI versus AI. Yes. AI is an idiot compared to Si.
Justin Stuart
I am with Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty. What is the best life advice you can give him?
Andrew Stuart
Well, for Uncle C, I'd say keep doing what he does best, Staying true to himself, finding humor in everyday moments and sharing those unique stories that make people laugh. A good piece of life advice for him could be don't take life too seriously, but always be serious about the things that matter.
Jase Robertson
I feel like he's like in the next room.
Si Robertson
I apologize. You ain't a complete nip, gum, poop. You got it. I think you may have three brain cells.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, you may be on to something.
Si Robertson
Yeah, you might be on something there.
Jase Robertson
Oh, lordy, that's great. Well, look, we wrote it up against time let you guys, so I don't misspeak. Tell us where our our folks, if they're. If they're new to you guys, can find out more about you guys. Oh, it's just at JSTU on YouTube. Is that right?
Andrew Stuart
Yeah, just go to YouTube, type in JSTU j s t u. That's our main YouTube channel.
Justin Stuart
Yep.
Jase Robertson
And if you got kids and Christmas is coming, check it out, man. The J Stu Survival guide. A hundred day devotional. And even if you don't have kids, like I said, I was reading it earlier. This is actually. Y'all did a great job of keeping the message simple and using real life stuff for that So I can appreciate that, man. A lot of times we make it way too complicated. So great. Great job on what you did here. And now I've got to go watch the videos that I read about on some of these things. I got to watch one. That cliff one because the. The book when I did it open the first time to. I think it's what is. Yeah. Day 25. There it is. First time I open is faith. It works. And it talks about y'all sleeping on a cliff. So now I gotta go.
Si Robertson
Well, I've seen that.
Jase Robertson
Now I gotta go watch that video.
Si Robertson
You've seen that I will not do. Oh, yeah. It shows them they're climbing. Okay. And it's getting dark. So they said, well, up. Go ahead. Spend the night. So they take out their little hammers and iron spikes and tie it off. Okay. You know, then they get in it and zip it up, y'all. And I said, now I know why I never would be a mountain climber. I said, you guys are tied to a cliff wall.
Justin Stuart
Yeah, we don't recommend like this.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, yeah.
Andrew Stuart
It was scary.
Si Robertson
And I said, and you're laying on some kind of light. Light canvas is the only thing that's holding you to this stupid mountain. No, I don't think so. That's too adventurous for me, but good, man.
Jase Robertson
Thank you all so much for coming in, man. We appreciate it. And come back anytime. Anything we need to help you guys love what you're doing. Keep being positive. Lights out in a dark world and keep them laughing. Absolutely. Yeah.
Andrew Stuart
We'll do our best.
Si Robertson
World needs it more.
Jase Robertson
What's the take home? Laugh.
Andrew Stuart
Laugh daily.
Justin Stuart
Daily.
Jase Robertson
Yep, it is. Love it, guys. Thank you all so much for coming.
Justin Stuart
Thank you for having us.
Jase Robertson
Welcome back. We. We now have two guests in the studio with us. We have the McKivitz family. Colton and his dad Matt are with us. Colton, I think by the time this airs, your unashamed episode stuff will have aired. So we have a lot of crossover viewership. So he probably looks familiar if he doesn't he. You are the starting right tackle for the San Francisco 49ers, right? That's awesome, man. Congratulations. And you got your father in the house. So what brings y'all to west Monroe, Louisiana, man? It's kind of a long way from San Fran and. Yeah. And all the things.
Colton McKivitz
God, man. God. God brought us here today.
Jase Robertson
Hey, what a. What a concert.
Si Robertson
I work in San Francisco, and God was behind that.
Jase Robertson
Oh, yeah. I just got both, man.
Si Robertson
Willie and Corey went to San Quentin.
Jase Robertson
But no yeah, God brought y'all down here because you. You saw something, you. You heard something, you. I'm not. I got bits and pieces of this story, but I don't want to tell your story because it's yours. It's not mine. Yeah, what. What. What about this bearded bunch of rednecks struck. Struck a chord with you?
Colton McKivitz
Yeah. So, you know, we're. We're hunters, you know, love waterfowl hunting. And we had watched, you know, the Duckman videos and Duck Commander and obviously Duck Dynasty and everything. And so we felt a connection. But the real connection was through the Unashamed podcast. That was kind of, you know, where we really connected. You know, God and church and kind of our fellowship with the Lord was through the Unashamed. You know, you guys think like us, you look like us. Like, that's where our connection was and what drew us to Duck Commander. And then my dad had a dream of that was kind of his thing, was to be baptized by you guys.
Jase Robertson
Oh, really?
Colton McKivitz
Yeah. A couple years ago, he. He asked me. He's like, I think it was rookie year or sometime. You brought up that you want to be baptized by the. By the Duck Man. And I was like, all right. You know, I mean, it's kind of a pipe dream. You think about it, you know, that's. That's a long way for us to go. And, you know, how do you. Those, you know, paths meet? And sure enough, through, you know, one of the owners at the Niners, you know, I wore a Duck Commander sweatshirt, his place in Idaho, up on a mountain. And he said, you want to meet him? And I kind of looked at him funny. I was like, you never know when you take someone's word for if they know somebody. And I was like, all right, whatever, you know, and through growing. Growing in the word and, you know, getting closer to God, you know, I learned to ask for help. And sure enough, I asked him. I was like, all right, let's see what this. This is about, if he really knows it. Sure enough, you know, a week later, he's like, hey, you ready to go to Louisiana and meet the Duck man and get baptized? And I was like, all right, let's go. You know, I listen. Sigh. One of the. The coolest thing was it was, you know, I knew it was God talking to me. You know, he said we were going. I was like, okay, you know, let's plan it out. And a couple days later, I listened to one of the Unashamed podcasts, and you happened to be on it. And, you know, you said that if someone put a revolver in my head, you said, pull the trigger. He said, I'm ready to go. I'm ready to meet God.
Si Robertson
If you want to waste a good bullet, go ahead.
Colton McKivitz
Go ahead and pull it, man. Yeah. And I just. You know, our quarterback, Brock Purdy, like you said earlier, you know, he kind of said the same thing. We were talking about the end of the world and revelations, and he's like, all right, let's go. I'm ready to go. Like, why not? And, you know, I wasn't there in my life, and that kind of struck me. I was like, man, I gotta fix this. Like, I ain't ready to go. You know? And then that happened. And then, you know, sure enough, last night, you know, Jace was kind enough to let us in and, you know, take us in as kind of family. And, you know, we. We went through the word and about an hour, you know, talking about what baptism really means. And, you know, you. Your old self dies. You know, he referred to his pool as a graveyard.
Si Robertson
There's a funeral.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah, there's a funeral.
Si Robertson
Most people don't realize that.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
You know, a lot of times I've studied with people, and then they. They balk on baptism. I said, dude, that's one thing you don't want to fool with. Okay. Yeah. You don't add to it or take it away. Don't take it, add to it, or take away. Yeah, you don't understand, you know? I said, you're reenacting Jesus Christ. Real death, burial, and resurrection. I said, well, what do you do when. Hey, when you come up on something dead, what do you do? You bury it because it starts to stink. You know? I mean, that's life.
Jase Robertson
Well, that's cool, man. That's cool how all that. That stuff works and, you know, just to dig into y'all a little bit more, and if you don't know this. This guy's a closet sports nerd. So I'm sure he's got some. He's got some wild tales about his own sports career.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
I don't know if you. I don't know if you call it a career or not. He never got paid, but, like, it was his. His history of sports. But no, y'all from Ohio originally ended up at the University of West Virginia, which is. There's a funny story there with me and Jace, too, so. But yeah, there's just all sorts of connections here that are just. It's weird that it took this for our paths to cross, like, so I was just in San Francisco. Me and Jay spent a couple of days up in Mooring Town when you were there during the same kind of. So it's a weird. It's like. It's almost like this was destined to happen. It's just. When. When was it going to happen? And it happened, and it happened from a mountain in Idaho.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Colton McKivitz
It was all God's plan, man. God's will.
Si Robertson
No, no.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Because if it had happened before, it may not have worked out, you know, like, you may not have been ready for. For the gift that you received by the reenaction of the death, burial and resurrection. Your dad, y'all. And what a cool moment for a father and son to be baptized the same night in the same place by the same person. That is cool.
Si Robertson
I don't know if you've seen it, the movie the Blind.
Colton McKivitz
I haven't seen it, but I know.
Si Robertson
You need to see it. Okay. Because my favorite part in the whole movie is Phil's hiding out from the law up in the woods on Eagle Nest. Okay. Up where Moss and Fish Lake, used as you was. Yeah.
Jase Robertson
And.
Si Robertson
And Bill Smith, the one of the elders that, you know, Church Christ at White's Fair Road. Okay. My sister wouldn't get off of Bill's back about go preach to my brother, you know. But anyway, he's up there, and Bill goes up there, and they're sitting on the. On the back because the trailer where they live or the little hut where they live in is so filthy, it'd be better to be outside. You know, their beer bottle, whiskey bottle, all this. Well, Phil finally hit rock bottom, and he looked at Bill and says, I don't know what to do, y'all. And Bill says. And Bill told him. He said, phil Robertson has got to die. The old one.
Jase Robertson
Look, you're obviously the strong, silent type. You've sat here. But I do want to get to know, like, you know, we've talked about sports, and we love sports, but having a son that's in the NFL, what's that like, man? Is that a cool thing? Is that something you worry about for him? Like, I'm just curious. It's amazing. And it's also very hectic.
Colton McKivitz
I mean, it's scary.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. You know, because you're always on edge. You know, how. How's he going to do?
Colton McKivitz
Because we're always just watching more or less him.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. And that. So. But just sit there and pray, and God keeps him healthy and he does the job, man. That's awesome. That so do Y'all travel to every game? Like, that kind of deal, or y'all that. I mean, not. I don't want to say command admitted, but, like, does life allow y'all to be at most of his games? Most of them, yeah. Most of them, yeah. That's cool. Yeah, that's a. That's a cool deal. What's. So. For you, just being a guy from Ohio, where's the coolest place football has taken you with your son?
Colton McKivitz
I like. Well, the super bowl was awesome.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. And.
Colton McKivitz
But Texas, it was fun when we beat Texas twice.
Jase Robertson
Okay. In college. That was. That was fun. Oh, going to Austin. Yeah. Oh, you gotta turn them horns down.
Colton McKivitz
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
Oh, okay.
Colton McKivitz
That was. That was the big game. We had receiver first, touchdown.
Jase Robertson
Boom.
Colton McKivitz
Hit him with the horns out. They were throwing flags left and right.
Jase Robertson
Okay. Yeah. So, yeah, to be fair, if I'm being honest, my true love of sports is college football. So that's like, Texas. I was thinking, what team? I was like, well, you ain't really proud to beat the Cowboys. They get beat every week, so. No, sorry, Cowboys fans. I know y'all are going through it. It's been like 30 years now, so.
Colton McKivitz
It'S an early exit for them anyway.
Si Robertson
At least they had a. You know, they had a dynasty.
Jase Robertson
Oh, they did. Yeah. They run. They run the free world there for a while.
Si Robertson
It's hard to hold on to boys.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. And it's even harder to get back.
Si Robertson
Cause nowadays the talent level.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Is so high.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. New England gonna be drafting first in a draft for a while.
Si Robertson
Well, no, no. Cause I'm just saying, you know. You know, because when I played football now, the talent. Cause nowadays you've got them in peewee football, yo. And I mean, they're being coached. It ain't. It ain't none of this, dog. They're being coached. By the time they get in high school, they're really good. And then if you go and you go, like to Alabama when Saban was.
Jase Robertson
There, I'll go there now. They trash.
Si Robertson
Yeah. Yeah. But.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, but I'm going to lsu either.
Colton McKivitz
Just the athletes nowadays.
Si Robertson
No, no.
Colton McKivitz
I mean, these kids are in weight rooms at 9, 10. I mean, I didn't touch a weight till sophomore, junior year of high school. I didn't know what a weight was.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
And now they're doing it now in Pee Wee.
Jase Robertson
Oh, yeah. Yeah. There's kids now doing drills at 7 and 8 years old. It's wild. But, no, that's cool, man. I always wonder about the family dynamic of that, like, how, you know, as a parent, like, for us play, even when you're playing, you. You. You feel like you can't get hurt. Right. But I would imagine as a parent, it is the unnerving situation. Very unnerving. Hey, good news is you don't have to line up across from Bosa. Yeah. At least y'all are on the same team.
Colton McKivitz
Practice a lot, practice pretty hard. But games. He makes it easy, man.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, I guess so. Yeah. Oh, do y'all practice, like, ones on one? One on one?
Colton McKivitz
Yeah. Camp, we do.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Colton McKivitz
We get after it. One on ones, everything.
Jase Robertson
That's rough. Couple of weeks there, and he'll get.
Colton McKivitz
A few days off, so those are the nice ones. But when he's on, man, it's. It's game on. It takes everything in.
Si Robertson
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
I do want to know, like, in the NFL, faith, is it. Is it more prevalent than maybe the media lets on, like, or is it, you know, is it just kind of what you think it is? There's the few that are outspoken, and then there's a lot of really cool people that are in on it, but they just don't even want to be that spotlight. I mean, how is faith in the league?
Colton McKivitz
Yeah, I mean, it's exactly like that. You've got your few who are very outspoken, and a lot of it is guys are just there to play football and collect checks and don't want to kind of deal with, you know, they're.
Jase Robertson
There to do their job. Yeah, yeah. They show up, punch a clock, give me my check, and move on.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah, exactly. But, I mean, the. It's a pretty strong community. There's a lot of guys, and in faith, and I mean, we have a pretty strong, you know, cohort with the Niners, and, you know, they do our. Our study every night after on Saturdays before games and everything, so.
Jase Robertson
Okay.
Colton McKivitz
I mean, there's a good community of guys that, you know, who are believers.
Jase Robertson
So y'all got, like, a chaplain?
Colton McKivitz
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
That's cool, man. That's awesome. It's cool to see the team actually be okay with that, but to be supportive of it. And I'm sure no matter what somebody's creed or belief in there, they're supportive of that, too, because y'all are. For half the. Well, over half the year, y'all are a family man. Yeah, so that's a. That's a cool deal.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah, we. We start off every game with the Lord's Prayer, and. And then we break and we're out. But it is when you say family. It is, man. I mean, it's. Last year it was, you know, July to February 11th. It's a long time together. You go through a lot of things, and having that kind of structure is huge for a team. And.
Jase Robertson
Well, and it's the appearance of, like, man, it's this big, giant team. And what. There's what, 50 of y'all?
Colton McKivitz
There's 53 on the active and then 16 Peace Squad guys.
Jase Robertson
So.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
So, I mean, it ain't. That's not in the grand scheme of things. There's. Most companies are way bigger than that, so. And y'all are. Y'all are there together from can to can't with each other. So it's cool. That's.
Si Robertson
Every team has only got 55 or 50.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Colton McKivitz
On the active. Yep.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. 53 on the sidelines that can suit up and go every week. Yeah. And coaches or leadership or some of those guys, I mean, they're probably pretty involved in faith and stuff, huh?
Colton McKivitz
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. That's cool, man. That's awesome. I just love to hear it because it's so easy to see, like, in our industry and our line of work, like, nobody's going to be upset with you sharing Jesus, and they're supportive of you and all that. So it's really cool to see something that's on such a bigger. A bigger platform than even we've got. And. Because, I mean, y'all are watching worldwide. Like, if you had people today show up at this office, I never even knew were 49er fans. I'm like, you live in West Monroe, Louisiana. How in the world are you wearing a San Francisco 49ers jersey?
Colton McKivitz
It's everywhere.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Colton McKivitz
I mean, I think Sunday night they had 26.8 million people watching that game.
Jase Robertson
See, that's what I'm talking about. That's wild. Like, even at our highest, we wouldn't have.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah. I mean, it touches everyone.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. So that's a. That's a cool deal and a cool impact that you're able to have on the world and on communities and all that thing. So, man, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it. Appreciate you doing it. Keep doing the Lord's work. And if you ever find yourself back in North Louisiana, we. We got a spot for you, man.
Colton McKivitz
Oh, I'm pretty sure we'll be back. And I mean, it's all. All God's timing and God's will that there's a reason we're here today. You know, earlier I got to share with a high school. You Know, kind of my story and that was my first time telling it. It's just. There's a reason we were put here today and there's a reason we connected and met and, you know, that's all God's will and.
Si Robertson
Well, your story. Your story, just like everybody else, it's important.
Jase Robertson
Yeah. Every one of them is. Okay, everyone imagine a party.
Si Robertson
Stories important.
Jase Robertson
Imagine a party heaven had last night when they come up out that water. Man. That's cool. Oh, no one sinner repents. Like, I mean, just think of the party that went on last night. That's cool. Because two of them did, right? Two of them.
Si Robertson
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
Two of them did. We added two more to the kingdom. And that's. That's. That's so cool. And something that I'm. I mean, even Jace. I've said it on here and I'll wrap this up. Like, Jace was very instrumental in my life in. In. In that and getting me to.
Si Robertson
There has been instrumental in a lot of.
Jase Robertson
So it's so cool for Jace to be humble and obedient and listen and do those kinds of things. Like, I know we give him. Ain't no two people on this planet give Jace Robertson a harder time than me and that man right there. There ain't no two people on this planet that bust him worse than us.
Si Robertson
Okay. More time is. Me and him were too much of lack because I. I actually kept him as a child.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Okay. Growing up. And he's got a lot of my mannerism and we. We don't like each other.
Jase Robertson
And I work shoulder to shoulder with him in the most boring job in the world, which is assembling duck calls for too long. So. I mean, we give each other so much crap back and forth. But it is really cool to see.
Si Robertson
There'S a lot of love involved.
Jase Robertson
Oh, absolutely.
Si Robertson
I mean, well, it's just like we give. We give each other heart.
Jase Robertson
Just like you guys in Yalls team. The ones you really like, you give the hardest time to. Yeah. Tell and tell. Any of the guys, if they ever want to come by, they're. They're welcome. We. We accept all hats. They can wear whatever hat they want. No, that's just the little.
Si Robertson
You have no idea what God's going to do with.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
So if me and Sigh end up in California, we going duck hunting.
Colton McKivitz
Oh, yeah.
Jase Robertson
Okay. I just making sure.
Si Robertson
Oh, no. Oh, look, there's. Hey, Phil and Jace went up there, y'all, and talking about. Yo, I'm well aware I said duck hunting in California.
Jase Robertson
We can go There and kill ten speckled belly.
Si Robertson
Oh, hey, I get in on that.
Colton McKivitz
Seven mallards.
Jase Robertson
Seven mal.
Si Robertson
Well, I don't really care, Mallard. I know the speck of bellies I'm into. I like a big slow goose doing this in front of me when I got that 20 gauge in my hand.
Jase Robertson
Yeah, them old special bellies sure are. But no, man, thank you all so much for joining us. And yeah, we'll y'all check them out. Go Niners. I'm now a Niners fan. Now I have a reason to watch and root for the 49ers other than it's just football season. And I pretty much watch every game. I'm capable of any level of football. Like we're in the greatest time of year. Because even in football scene, there's. There's even little weird college games on Tuesdays, Wednesdays. Like there's a game every night right.
Colton McKivitz
Now, Thursday night, max. And it's everywhere.
Jase Robertson
Yes.
Si Robertson
Yes.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah.
Si Robertson
Do the referees ever make out? You mad?
Jase Robertson
Uh, oh, with.
Si Robertson
With the calls?
Jase Robertson
I don't know if they can talk about that.
Colton McKivitz
I mean, they. You.
Si Robertson
Oh, no. You had a football player.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Si Robertson
He gets mad at a referee if he makes the wrong call.
Jase Robertson
Well, I know that, but I don't want him to get in trouble.
Colton McKivitz
Then you get the paperwork because you submit the play, and then two days later they're like, ah, sorry we messed up.
Jase Robertson
Yeah.
Colton McKivitz
And you're like, well, that don't help me now.
Jase Robertson
Oh, really? They do that? Oh, okay. Cause see, I wrote. Now, see, now we're done going on different tangents. So I did a deal.
Si Robertson
Now we'll get in the middle.
Jase Robertson
No, no, no, no. But I rode on. So I did a deal in Kansas City and my flight back, I rode beside. Who's the official back there with a referee? The one stand right across from me. There's two of them back here now.
Colton McKivitz
But the other, I think he's line judge.
Jase Robertson
Line judge. Whatever he is, he's right back here with the referee. Now they put him back there to get him out the way. Yeah, because they got tired of him getting hit with balls and stuff and getting run over.
Colton McKivitz
Getting run over?
Jase Robertson
Yeah, getting run over. So he. But he was on.
Si Robertson
Get out of the way, boy.
Jase Robertson
He was on the plane beside me. We were sitting in the same deal up there, and he was grading his own performance. Like he. He already had the game film that they had just called in Kansas City at Arrowhead. And he's sitting there with a pad out, you know, me being nosy. I'm like, yo, bro, what? Like, is this your job to watch the games? And he stopped it. And he said, no, that's me.
Colton McKivitz
Yeah.
Jase Robertson
And, like, showed him behind, you know, like, behind my home. I was like, oh, man, that's tight. Like, you know, that's cool. Like, I said, so the whole free world's pissed off at you every week. I said, how does that do for a living? He said, well, it pays all right. And I said, oh, that's cool. But I had no idea. You know, you think from the outside looking in, a referee shows up, does his job and goes home. Like, you don't. But he was sitting there grading himself on perform and grading the whole crew. He was looking at every penalty that they threw or didn't throw. Like, he watched every play on that flight back. And I was. I was super impressed with that. I thought that was a really cool aspect that doesn't get talked about because I. You know what, job? I don't want a referee because the whole free world hates you. It doesn't matter if you let them play. The other side gets to griping or if you call the flag. It's like, you ain't making nobody happy. So, like, it's just. It's crazy. So. But no, man, thank you all so much for coming in. And, yeah, we'll stick around, guys. We'll be back right after this on Duck call room sa.
