Hi, I'm Nancy Dufresne. Welcome to our podcast channel. We know you'll be blessed by today's message.
B
Oh, glory to God. Hallelujah.
C
Thank you. Thank you. My goodness. Thank God for all the music help. Praise God. You know, as we've been saying really through throughout the week, the ministry of helps, the service depends. It depends on everybody bringing their parts. And aren't you thankful for the music help that brings us into some places and helps us with some things? Praise God. Well, good morning. I'm the other part.
D
The greater one.
C
The greater one, not so much. Praise the Lord. When Pastor Nancy, when she heard from heaven to have us minister in prayer, she actually called me and she always. She'd always called him to ask him to minister in different things. And she called me and said, you know, the spirit of God dealt with me to have to ask you. She said, I saw myself in a dream coming and asking you, meaning both of us, to minister in these crusades in the morning time on prayer. And I said, okay. And then I got off the phone with her, of course, she said, you know, pray about it. See, what if that seems right. We didn't have to pray very long, but I went to my husband and I said, what does that even look like, right, for both of us to minister? And he said, we do that every Tuesday night because on our Tuesday night midweeks, we typically minister on prayer, spend time in prayer. That's just the way the Lord's directed us. And many times we bounce back and forth. We might co. Teach, we might. One of us brings the springboard, if you will, and then somebody else, you know, he'll. And honestly, I'll just let you all know on those Tuesday nights. My intent, if I'm getting things started, is to poke. To poke and see what comes out of him. And sometimes it's vice versa. So. So in this plan for these morning meetings, there's going to be times where he'll minister, there's times where I'll minister, there's times where we both minister. It's all part of the plan. It's all part of the plan. But really what we endeavor to do is find the plan for the service. The highest plan, the best flow. Glory to God. Hallelujah. And I say that because it's not just up to us. It takes all of us being interested in what God has to say. And when we minister on prayer there, you have to be so, so careful about what you hear, who you listen to when it comes to this particular subject. Because there are some interesting ideas out there of what prayer is, what it's supposed to be. But how many understand God's given us a framework to order our prayer life by. And so when we're ministering on prayer, we want to. And I really want to bring out this morning, there's different components to our prayer life. Praise God. We started Monday talking about there's a place of fullness we need to bring into our prayer life. How many understand we need to be full of his spirit, and we are supposed to be full of His Word. And in prayer, it takes both of these components together to bring a balanced, fruitful, effective prayer life. Now, I say this because many years ago, maybe, maybe about eight years ago, the Lord, we were in a time of prayer with our church, and the Spirit of God ministered to me. He said something. You've probably heard me say it, but I'm going to say it again. He spoke to me and he said, become proficient in prayer. And I thought, oh, that sounds so spiritual. I wrote it down. And when I got out of that prayer time and started to think about what he had just said to me, I realized that was a rebuke. I was already. I mean, I had been a Christian for, like, 30 years. I had been in Bible school. We were with Brother Hagin for years. We had pastored for well over a decade. At this point, we had just transitioned to Colorado, where my husband was traveling. And I actually stepped into the lead pastor role as we were pioneering in Colorado. And he was telling me, you're not good at this yet. Here's the thing, guys. I'd been praying this whole time.
D
Yeah.
C
It's not like I didn't have a prayer life. It's not like I didn't take time in prayer. But he was alerting me to the fact that I was not being as accurate as I could be. I was not accomplishing or becoming as fruitful as I needed to be. God is interested in his plan for the earth, progressing, moving forward, being accomplished. And for that plan to be accomplished, we have to play our part. One of those parts that every believer, every believer in the body of Christ has is to have an effective prayer life.
B
Ha.
C
Praise the Lord. Turn with me to First John, chapter five this morning. It's okay if we just dive in here? Thank you, Father. I truly hope this morning that I am not showing you anything you haven't heard before. If you haven't heard this, pay attention. If you have, it's still true today. Praise God. First John, chapter 5. Verse 14 says, and this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything, that if we ask anything, if we ask anything according to his will. According to his will. Glory to God. Then he hears us. And aren't you thankful for the ands in Scripture? And if we know that he's heard us, how do we know he's heard us? If we've asked according to his will, we know he has heard. And if we know he's heard because we've asked according to his will. Ha ha. If we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know we have. We know, we know we know we have the petitions that we've asked. How do we know we've heard? How do we know we've had. We have. Because we know he's heard. We know he's heard because we know we've prayed his will. So we must need to know his will.
B
Before.
C
We ask, before we pray. How many have heard these verses before? I hope so. I hope so. And yet they're still incredible verses. This means that we can have confidence when we come before the throne of heaven. And we understand that when we pray his will, it will be heard and it will be accomplished. Amazing. I want to minister to you this morning about bringing the Word with you to prayer. Bringing the Word with you to prayer? Why? Because His Word is His will. His Word. His word is his will. So Jesus, teach us to pray. He said, pray Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. You got to know his will for.
A
The earth.
C
To pray and have him here. Glory to God. Hallelujah. We just had the whole world celebrated in the sports world. They celebrated the Olympics, right? Had the Olympics. There's all kinds of different things. I like to watch different sports. I don't watch a lot of it, but whenever the finals of something like the, you know, the best of the best, I enjoy tuning into some of that. And you know, in the Olympics, they always have the diving, right? The synchronized diving, the high diving. Amazing. Amazing. Like, if I got up to the top of that platform and looked down, I'd be like, okay, I'm done. And I'd be climbing back down the ladder. Why? No way. No way. I mean, if I'm going to dive into a pool, it's going to be, you know, from the edge of the pool. But here's the thing. For me to dive into the pool right on the edge of the pool, all I'm going to get accomplished is a shallow dive. They accomplish more from the high platform. Than I do from down on the edge. More is accomplished. The word of God is your platform in prayer. The more you understand this book, the more you have it planted on the inside of you, the farther you can go in prayer, the more can be accomplished in prayer. Am I saying that the new believer that only knows, for God so loved the world that he gave his only son.
B
No.
C
That they can't pray? No, that's not it. You know, when I had a baby and they were first learning to talk, I talked to them the way they were talking, you know, mama, dada. And that's fine. And I had fellowship with him, but to have a serious conversation. My son is 27, and now his vocabulary is to the point where I'm like, son, you gotta dumb it down for your mom. Because I can't even understand why. Because he's grown up, the platform of his vocabulary, has it increased. The reason they can do all those flips and accomplish so much is because they've climbed to a higher height. When the Lord dealt with me to become proficient in prayer, I went to him and I said, okay, well, apparently I need help in knowing what that looks like because I've been praying for decades. And if you're not happy with my prayer life, I need your help to see where I'm not putting things together for the next year. All he had me doing was taking in huge amounts of the Word. The Word. Not that I wasn't praying, but that wasn't the focus. He wanted this book to be in me so strong that when I entered into my prayer room, that place of prayer, I had an arsenal of his will built onto the inside of me. Built onto the inside of me. Praise the Lord. Why don't we turn to Isaiah, chapter 55. The word of God is to be our framework in prayer. Hallelujah. The more of the word we have, the more tools we have in our tool belts in the spirit realm. To pray out his plan. His will. His word is his will. His word is his will. His word is his will. Thank you, Lord. Isaiah 55, 9. Well, verse 8. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways. Are your ways my ways, says the Lord. Does that leave us lost and hopeless?
B
No.
C
No. What was God saying when he corrected me and said, become proficient, said, grab my thoughts about this, Start to understand my ways about how to pray. Because it's not just praying in other tongues mindlessly, but it's framing it and paying attention when we pray to that which the Lord would have us draw out and Many times. It's the word of God that comes out as we're praying. I'll explain as we go. As the heavens are higher than the earth's, so are my ways higher than your ways. And my thoughts are higher. It's a higher platform. It's a higher platform. He's not saying you can't get there. He's inviting you to come up. Matter of fact, when Jesus paid the price, when he died for us, glory to God. It says we were crucified with Christ. Then we were pulled out of the grave with Christ and we were raised with Christ and we were seated at the right hand of the Father with him in the heavenly places. He has not only invited you, he has placed you. Next to the Father. Why? Just to say we were there? No. To accomplish his purposes and his plan. His ways are higher, his thoughts are higher. We are placed in that position to understand his thoughts. And he goes on. Isaiah goes on to say, for as the rain comes down and the snow from heaven and returns not thither, but waters the earth and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. This is an interesting illustration that the Lord is giving us. As the rain comes down, we've been talking about the moving of waters representing the Spirit of God.
B
Right?
C
The moving of the Spirit. And here he's talking about the Word of God coming down. Just as the Spirit of God has to be, it has to land somewhere, Right? The Word has to land somewhere on this earth. And Jesus taught us that our heart is the soil. This Word, for it to accomplish its purpose, has to land somewhere. Where? Your heart. Your heart, my heart. It has to land on the inside of you. This word. Glory to God. This Word lands in us. And then when we enter our prayer time to talk to the Father about what's happening on this earth. Father, thank you for the fulfillment of your plan on the earth. And we start to look in our tool belt. We start to pull up His Word, his will in prayer. We start to speak things by the Spirit about his plan we found in the Word. And when we do these things, glory to God. The Word can be accomplished in the earth. Fruit can come out. What's supposed to grow can grow. What's supposed to be ripped out can be ripped out. Anything that's supposed to be accomplished according to his will. We are cooperating with him because that word's been plugged down into our soil and is now growing up and being decreed out of our mouth in prayer. Hallelujah. I like to do puzzles, jigsaw puzzles. I don't really have time to do them, but I actually find them relaxing and fun. When you have a jigsaw puzzle, right, most of the time, if you're just starting, you find all the straight pieces, right? And you put out the framework of that puzzle. The word of God is your framework in prayer. Okay, we're putting all the edges. And when we check with the Spirit, what are we praying for today? He's going to prompt us with the word. This is what we're praying about. And we're going to put that framework out. Then we start step into praying in other tongues. Does that make sense? And so then when we go and start praying in other tongues, it's almost as if we're reaching out and grabbing the other puzzle pieces and we're plugging them into that framework. Oh, that goes there. Oh, that goes there. And this is sometimes done in other tongues. You don't know what you're saying. You don't need to. If we needed to know, we'd receive what we needed to know in our native tongue. What we do need to know is his will, His Word. Praise the Lord. So this word gets planted into us just like the rain comes and. And waters the earth. The rain itself isn't what causes things to grow. It's the seed, Right? The seed is what grows. But the rain gives the nutrients and the help and the nourishment that's needed for that seed to grow up. So turn with me, praise the Lord, to Isaiah, chapter 51. Because if the word of God just being printed in the Bible, just being spoken out by the prophet Isaiah or whoever, whatever book you're reading, if it just worked by it being spoken out one time, being written down once, and never being uttered again, if it was just all up to God, in other words, then something's not working, Right?
D
Right.
C
Right. Because if His Word is going to accomplish something, and yet this was spoken thousands of years ago, right? And it's still. We're still not seeing the full fruition of everything that's supposed to be accomplished on this earth, then there's a missing element somewhere.
B
Sorry.
C
Is that me? No. What am I doing? Sorry. Stay still. Isaiah 51, verse 15. But I, I am the Lord thy God that divides the sea, whose waves roared the Lord of hosts is his name. And I, the Lord God, have put my words in your mouth. If it was just up to God saying it one time, we would have wrapped this thing up a long time ago. His Word, his will has to be planted in your heart, and then it has to come up out of your mouth. What Pastor Nancy was talking about last night, it's got to come out of your mouth, your mouth, my mouth. That's how things grow. That's how things are accomplished in your life and throughout the earth. This word comes out of our mouth. The Lord said, listen, I am the Lord, but I have put my words in your mouth. I've covered you in the shadow of my hand. Look at this.
B
That I may plant.
C
The heavens and lay the foundations of the earth and say to Zion, thou art my people. He wants to plant things from heaven into the earth. How does it do that? The Word comes and gets planted on the inside of us. We pack ourselves so full of the Word, glory to God. And when we walk into our prayer time, glory to God, the Word comes out. And when we put His Word in our mouth, it's like that rain that's watered the spirit seed of the earth, and it springs forth and it will accomplish that which he has said. It can't not happen. Because if we pray anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know he hears us because we've prayed according to his will, we know we have that which we've requested. He wants to plant that which is in the heavens into the earth. In other words, he wants his kingdom to come to earth. The Pharisees looked at Jesus and said, where's the kingdom of God? And Jesus said, it's in your midst. It's in you. It's in you. It's in you. It's in you. He's planting his kingdom through His Word coming out of our mouth. We are, praise God, we are his mouthpiece on the earth. Not just the five fold ministers, they are the mouthpiece in the pulpit. And it's appropriate, and it's supposed to be that way. But every one of us, children of.
B
God.
C
People of God, every one of us has a part to play, and a big part of that is in our prayer time, pulling up this Word, his will, out of our spirits and allowing it to accomplish that which God has for it to accomplish. He has put it in my mouth. And it only works if it comes out. It only works when we yield to it, when we say it, when we do this. So when I enter into My prayer time. We are going to take time this morning to do this, to pray. I might have a person on my heart. I might have a particular nation on my heart. I might. I might have something about his plan that I know is not yet being fulfilled out on the earth as it ought to be. When I step into my prayer time, one of the first things I do is look at His Word. Praise the Lord. And I'm going to pull out some from this word, that which we're supposed to pray about today. Does that mean you need to know every single scripture that's in that? No, I don't know every scripture. I mean, I've read them all. I've read them all several times through, but it doesn't mean they're all planted. But the more I plant, the more I put in, the more I pack in there, the bigger arsenal I have in prayer. And the Spirit will pull up that which I need to pray and say, the Spirit will give me what I need to speak out. Speak out. Glory to God. So that heaven can invade earth. Ha. So that His Word can be accomplished on earth as it is in heaven. Now, just to bring this as an example, because we don't have time. We don't have time to look at. My goodness. There's so much in the Word about what to pray for and how to pray. Go through, just go through the New Testament. Start in the Book of Acts. We started on Monday looking at how they prayed. What did they do? The first thing they did was they started to magnify God. Talk about how big he is. The second thing they did was they started quoting the Word. They started quoting the Word. Why? Because they knew it. They knew it enough that the Spirit was able to prompt them with what word to say when they were to pray. And they spoke out the Word and from there they were able to act. Ask now, Lord. Praise God. Give us the boldness to go do your will, no matter what those heathens say. Praise God. The Word was the springboard. It was their platform from where they prayed. The more word you understand, the more of his will you, you will know. The higher up you go in your prayer life, the more you get accomplished, the more you get accomplished. Glory to God. We good or. Okay, turn with me. Praise the Lord. To second Thessalonians, chapter three. Just as a way of example, I want to look at, you know, we can. We can pray for our, our, our pastors, our. The ministry offices. We can pray for our kids, for our family, we can pray for our co workers we can pray for other nations. Like I said, there's so many different things to pray for. The more of the Word, you know, on those subjects, the easier it's to.
B
Going.
C
Going to be to pray effectively. Praise the Lord, if we could say this. The Word of God is your currency.
B
Right?
C
The Word of God is the currency of heaven. It's the currency of the spirit realm. Just like you need here in. Do they still have loonies? Yes. Glory to God.
B
I know.
C
I love that. Just like in Canada, you have loonies. It's part of their currency. It's a funny one, but I like it. Just like in Canada, you need Canadian dollars or loonies to conduct business in the spirit realm. You need the Word. You need the Word. You need the Word. And when you go to prayer, it's not just praying in other tongues. It's praying in other tongues in line with His Word. And so many times we start with His Word. That's our springboard. It's where we get started. Praise the Lord. You know, in the Olympics, in gym, I love. I watch it for the gymnastics. I like the gymnastics, right? And so in the US we have a little gal named Simone biles. She's like 4 foot 8. She's like tiny. But they were talking about in those floor exercises, you know, they have to run and do jump and do all this stuff. And they said she can jump and get. She was getting 11, almost 12ft in the air. 11 foot 8 inches. She was jumping higher than an NBA player because she's so little. I mean, just in span, NBA players 7 foot tall. A lot of times, I mean, they're jumped. They can jump that high. But she's going further, right? Because she's so small. But you understand that floor mat is springy. It's got springs underneath it. And she has learned how to use those springs to take her farther in the air so she can accomplish more. While she's up there, she can do more twists than anybody else. Why she's learned how to spring up. This is what we're talking about. The Word of God will spring you to the place where you can accomplish more in him in your prayer time. Glory to God. So glory. Thank you, Father. Second Thessalonians, chapter three. Just as a way of example, how do we do this in prayer? Paul says, finally, brethren, pray for us. Listen, when you read through these, the New Testament letters in particular, anytime Paul says, pray for me, or anytime he says, I'm praying for you, pay attention. Pay attention. These are clues to how we can use the Word in our prayer. Prayer time. Finally, brethren, pray for us that the Word of the Lord may have free course and be glorified even as it is with you. And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men, for all men have not faith. What are we saying when we say take the Word with you to prayer? Things like this. How are we to pray? Father, I pray that tonight, in this service that we're having tonight, that the Word of God would have free course. That it would have free course. Other translations say that it would run swiftly, spread rapidly. We can pray the Word in our prayer time. We pray that it would have free course, that the Word would spread rapidly. We pray that it would be honored and glorified in this place and beyond. We're putting the word in our mouth just the way God told us to, and we're planting his kingdom into the earth when we do it. Glory to God. Glory to God. We pray that the Word would be glorified, that it would have free course. And we could go on. I might encourage you to frame ministries. Pastor Nancy's put together many scriptures on prayer, right? They can download that on the, on the Dufresne Ministries website. You can go there. And she has just a little booklet type form of prayer. And it gives you different subjects. How to pray for your pastor, how to pray for your nation, how to pray for different areas of your life, how to pray for your family. There's different things. And she's pulled those scriptures together for you. So if you don't want to go hunt for, you can have them in a list and you pack those into your spirit. So when you walk into your prayer time in the spirit realm, when you're seated with Jesus in heavenly places and you look over and say, father, thank you. That the word, ha. That your word, ha ha. Glory to God, has free course. It has free course. It spreads rapidly. Not just in a service, but it goes out beyond the doors of that service. It goes into my town, it goes into my nation, and it's glorified and honored. It spreads rapidly. And people are so hungry for this word, they're hungering and thirsting for that which you offer. And then you take off in other tongues, praise God, and you allow the spirit of God to nail that thing down. Glory to God. This is just not a one time occurrence. Every day. Every day. Do I have to pray for all the world every day? As God leads. As God leads. How many times did Paul say, pray for all the saints? That's A lot of people. That's a lot of people. Glory to God. But this is so easy. This is so easy. This is so easy. It's so easy. When we live a life full of the Spirit and full of the word. Glory to God. The two go together. Hallelujah. The two go together. We were just with a minister and he said, you know, just like chocolate and peanut butter in that old coffee commercial in America, we had an old Reese's peanut butter commercial where someone was walking down with their chocolate bar, eating their chocolate bar, and someone was randomly walking down the street with an open jar of peanut butter, just eating it. Because we see that often, right? And what happens in that commercial? Do you run in together and they say, hey, you got my chocolate in my peanut butter? And they say, you got my peanut butter in my chocolate? And they taste it, huh? You got your peanut butter in my chocolate. Sorry, I said it wrong. They taste it and they think, oh.
B
Oh.
C
Heaven has come down and created something beautiful in a Reese's peanut butter cup. He's put his word in my mouth to create something beautiful on earth as it is in heaven. Praise the Lord. Glory to God. Hallelujah.
D
Glory to God. That's actually how we met. She had an open jar of peanut butter. You got your word in my spirit. You got your spirit in my word. Hey, this works. I think one of the biggest defenses, deficiencies in the body of Christ is exactly what she's talking about. They're not proficient because they just don't know what's theirs, you know? So if you really think about maybe, maybe the people, you know, I'm sure not you, but maybe the people, you know, what you end up doing is people are asking for so many things that the word already addresses. And really, on a percentage basis, how much of the prayer time of the whole body of Christ is taken up with things that have already been answered, right? Oh, God, heal. Heal me. Oh, God, heal me. Oh, God, heal me. Some word would really help. Some word would really help. And it would change your prayer. It would change your prayer. Amen. Glory to God. He's put his words in our mouth. Glory to God. So let's remind ourselves this morning of our framework and then fill. And then let the Holy Spirit fill in some. Some pieces.
B
Amen. Yeah. Amen.
D
Good stuff.
C
Hallelujah.
D
Real good stuff. You come over here.
C
Thank you, Jesus. Father, we're so grateful today. We are so grateful today for who you are and what you've called us to be. We are so thankful, Father, that the Eyes of our heart have been enlightened. That we see, yes. And we know that which you call us to do. We see and we know our part. By faith, we say we will do our part. We will do our part. And today, Father, we thank you for your plan on the earth. We thank you, Father, just as we looked in the word today, that your word. That your word. That your word would speed ahead, that it would run rapidly, that it would be honored and glorified in this place and beyond. We thank you, Father, that Pastor Nancy and others in the five fold ministry would be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men. For not all men have faith. We thank you, Father, God, for all that you've called the ministers to do. We thank you that it all gets accomplished.
D
Thank you for the word speeding through Canada, through every promise, through every area, through every city.

Episode: Bring The Word To Prayer | Amy Siegel | Mississauga, Canada | JTH Crusades 2024 | Wednesday AM
Date: August 28, 2024
Guest Speaker: Amy Siegel
This episode, featuring Amy Siegel, is a powerful teaching and practical session on the necessity of integrating God's Word into our prayer life. Amy emphasizes that the effectiveness and fruitfulness of prayer are directly linked to knowing and employing the Word of God, which is His revealed will. Through personal testimony, Scriptural exposition, and practical analogies, she equips listeners to “bring the Word to prayer” for greater results in their spiritual lives and collective ministry impact.
1 John 5:14–15: Amy unpacks these verses as the biblical basis that confidence in prayer comes from praying according to God’s will—His Word.
Key Principle:
On Receiving Correction from God:
The Word as Prayer Foundation:
On Growth:
On Speaking the Word:
On the "Currency" of Heaven:
On Encountering the Spirit & Word Together:
Amy Siegel’s message is an engaging invitation and challenge to believers: don’t settle for shallow, rote prayer. Instead, become “proficient” by planting and speaking God’s Word, being full of both Word and Spirit. Only then will our prayers be truly effective—accomplishing God’s will and ushering heaven’s realities into the earth.
“He’s put His word in my mouth to create something beautiful on earth as it is in heaven.”
